Chegg Prep - study flashcards for Negative User Reviews

Don’t use this to study!!!!Deleted multiple sets of flashcards due to glitches in the app. Not to even mention it did that THE DAY BEFORE MY EXAM. Definitely not a reliable study source. Use with caution. Happened multiple times due to different glitches so you can’t even avoid them I don’t think..Version: 1.8.0

AwfulLags and has deleted my flashcards on more than one occasion while in the process of saving them. On one occasion, it deleted an entire deck with over 60 cards in it. A genuinely awful app..Version: 1.8.0

Switched out of old app without warningLike a lot of us we lost our decks from the old app; I went on the app and there was no way to transfer unless you had an account linked. This app is also frustrating, too. The cancel button on the top left when creating a card is so unnecessary because I would type 5-10 cards in my deck and i would accidentally click it and lose them. Should honestly just have the save button and manually delete cards later to be safe.Version: 1.17.0

Lost FlashcardsI was forced to switch from the Flashcards app to Prep and lost most of my custom cards. I had a deck entitled “Words,” which contained around 330 definitions of interesting words I’d come across over the years. Any time I read or heard a new word, I’d look it up and manually add it to the list. These words were awesome and have contributed to increasing my vocabulary greatly. When I moved to Chegg Prep, only 98 words remained. I tried to chat on the Chegg website with a Chegg Support agent and it was absolutely worthless. I had to keep repeating myself and they didn’t seem to understand the problem. This is a big disappointment, as I spent years collecting those words and would quiz myself on them regularly..Version: 1.17.1

Wow. Two steps backAs someone that used the previous flashcard app from Chegg, I can confirm what other reviewers have stated. This app is horrible and the other was a great learning tool. If they simply put the old app back it would be a marked improvement. Note that I’ve never written a review of an app before, so take this as constructive criticism. I don’t know if the founders family member designed this app and management was forced to deploy it. But this is a fail from a management position to not allow people a choice to keep the old app. It’s also a fail from a developer position as it lacks the rudimentary basics to be helpful. You can’t search well. You can’t rate these decks so people can not waste their time with all the decks with errors. Keep in mind these are student decks and mistakes are all over. Further when you review a deck it automatically is attached to your Home Screen and you have no ability to delete it from there. I could go on and on. The UI — facepalm... care about your potential customers and your brand and do what’s right to fix this. I think the previous app was licensed to Chegg and they didn’t renew. Well, you're really harming people’s ability to study by servering the partnership in such a fashion. Own up to it and recover from this disaster..Version: 1.16.0

Go back to flashcardsFlashcards was soooo much better and easier to use. I would switch apps but I’ve already made everything :/.Version: 1.8.1

FailWhen I synced the new app it copied across decks I had within folders but not any of my decks I had outside folders. I now need to recreate hundreds of Flashcards again! Plus I really don’t like that they don’t have folders to organize your decks anymore. Please keep the old app available to use.Version: 1.7.0

Erased all my cardsI used this app to help improve my language learning and in an instant all my cards were gone after being logged out. Pretty useless!.Version: 1.17.3

Horrible App An Embarrassment for a serious companyI spent many years using the original app which was called Flashcards+. The old App did so much more and was elegant. Chegg forced everybody to switch to their version which more than likely they had to wait from scratch. It is a watered down version of the original Five Star App. I’ve been waiting for it to improve and give it a chance. They have been working on it for over year and a half and still can’t get it right (‘pretty embarrassing for a text book company promoting education). Does not support landscape, and it’s riddled with bugs. Today I decided to try their multiple choice feature and it doesn’t work on an iPad Pro with the latest iOS. You click the answer and nothing happens, can’t even advance to the next question. If I didn’t have a bunch of decks already, I would have switched to anything other than Chegg Prep.Version: 1.14.2

Lost so many FlashcardsI miss the original flashcards and when I had to transfer I lost so many of my cards it’s such a pain to have to retype them all!!.Version: 1.8.1

Zero ⭐️ is a better ratingWhite with the developer of a Flashcard app that is working perfectly change it to the Prepp version?! If I am trying to update a flashcard I have to scroll though them all to attempt to find the right card. Why the F would they not have a “search” capability for your own cards? This should also be able to be accessed online. This company is garbage..Version: 1.8.1

No more search function??Why is it forcing us to switch to this new app when it has much less functionality? I can no longer search cards or mark cards as learned anymore. I now have to move learned cards to a new deck which is much more difficult in the new UI. The buttons are also much less accessible and the frequently used workflows are much more tedious now. I feel like they prioritized looks over functionality. I will be using a new flashcards app from now on..Version: 1.8.0

Upgrade lost essential feature(1) The previous app had a feature that allowed for words to be read aloud. This was helpful as I use the app as a language vocabulary builder. Not sure why this not included in the update (2) It’s hard to get to a specific place in your deck. You have to start at the beginning and swipe through each card, or shuffle the entire deck. I personally preferred the previous app. Why were these features nit added back?.Version: 1.13.0

An unnecessary changeI was incredibly disappointed and frustrated to find that the old Chegg Flashcards App had been removed, was no longer supported and had been replaced by this new app. I teach English and have often spoken very highly of the Flashcards App to my students, telling them that it’s a great learning tool and very valuable, having personally used it myself for a good few years. This new addition was undoubtedly intended to stimulate interest in an app that was a few years old, but which worked flawlessly. All that has realistically happened though, is that existing customers such as myself are frustrated that their hours of manually inputted Flashcards have been lost/deleted/mixed by this unnecessary change. To repeat what other reviews have said: ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it’..Version: 1.11.1

New App has lost functionalityI’m an Agriculture student, and for nearly 4 years I used the old Chegg+ App when out at remote sites, to create Flash cards for botanic finds. But the new App doesn’t work in ‘offline’ mode, so really no good for me. A big shame..Version: 1.14.1

Lost everythingOne of the worst updates. Lost all of my Flashcard data. A warning would of been great 👎🏽👎🏽.Version: 1.17.1

Not as good as FlashCards+The old Chegg FlashCards+ had a much nicer UI, and this version on iPad is just the iPhone version expandable. What is nice is that you can build and edit cards from your desktop via webpage access (much quicker than building on the iPhone). Unfortunately it doesn’t want to sync back to the old version of FlashCards+ with the nice UI, even under the same log-in..Version: 1.6.0

GarbageYes, dear developers, this is garbage, and I, too, lost thousands of cards. No search function? Seriously? And try typing from right to left (as in Persian) while using parentheses..Version: 1.7.0

Worst update ever of any appTotal loss of colourizing functionality - they just removed it! Can no longer highlight text or change colours of words to make your cards easier to study. I paid for it on the previous app - I should get my money back. No ipad version. Serious. A big F you to ipad users I guess. Using the ipad it looks like an app from 1983 now. Updates are meant to IMPROVE an app! Hello? Here is some advice for correcting this lemon: Go back to the old Chegg Flashcards. Seriously. DO IT. Now that was an app...Version: 1.8.1

Previous app was way betterThis version has deleted so many essential features that the old version had including the feature to search your decks for a specific card, the feature to have cards read aloud, and others. This was my favourite app to study with and now I’m dissatisfied with it..Version: 1.9.1

Poor Business DecisionImagine my surprise to find the old app is gone and I’m forced to use the new app. But much worse, all my cards have gone as well. Never ever using any app from this company again..Version: 1.8.1

Helpful tool, but room for improvement! This app is very helpful, and serves its purpose of creating digital flashcards. There aren’t annoying ads or pop-ups of any kind. However, i have 2 major critiques. Firstly, you can’t categorise or tag your decks. It would be very helpful to be able to put decks in folders. Secondly, the app occasionally glitches and you loss all unsaved cards. On the website it autosaves, but this isn’t the case for the app. It would be a helpful feature to add to the app as i’ve definitely lost my share of cards this way. Overall, still very useful and highly recommend..Version: 1.17.3

Lost flashcardsI created over 90 flashcards last night, got no warning to sign into an account. The next day I’m being told Flashcards ++ doesn’t exist anymore and I can’t access the deck that was on my phone. Thank you for making me waste 5 hours..Version: 1.13.1

Old chegg was betterPlease bring back the old app format. I used it to revise for my national 5’s and was an amazing revision resource, the new format is shocking and is very ineffective. Lost a majority of my cards and as a result will be using a different app..Version: 1.13.0

App change made this program useless to me.When the app changed from chegg flashcards I discovered that it was connection dependent. I often don’t have a connection or lose it and have to restart my study session. When I get distracted and come back to study and my phone has gone to sleep I lose my study session and have to start over. The app is basically useless to me and now I’ll have to rebuild all my decks on another app..Version: 1.17.1

FrustratingThis app is just as bad as the rest. I uploaded 20 flash cards which was hella work and it only saved 2 of them and made me resign in. I wish somebody would make a good flash card app! I might as well hand write them takes less time and I know it’s done! I have too many flash cards to make for my program for it not to be saving. Very disappointed!!.Version: 1.17.3

Just bring Chegg Flashcards back!Like many users, I also had to forcibly switch to this from Chegg Flashcards. I haven’t had any problems with decks or cards being deleted and the multiple choice quiz mode is a nice addition, hence the two stars. However... Not being able to sort decks into categories is a big problem. I don’t understand why they would remove this feature. It’s very inconvenient for those not studying in the US, because you can only sort your decks into courses from American universities. I messaged the developers about missing features and they only responded to my suggestion about having the option to disable saving cropped pictures. I’m getting the impression that the current developer team doesn’t have the necessary skills or resources to implement very basic features that are being demanded by so many users. They seem to be pretty slow at solving bugs too... In any case, I will probably switch to another app..Version: 1.17.1

This app is a waste of time.I was using this app to learn a scheme for my job. I made a set of cards all well and good. The next day I added more cards. Then the app developed a problem and it said it’s not you it’s us and to come back later. When I came back later it had deleted all the new things I added. An hour’s worth of work. So I spent another hour typing in the things that got deleted and i came back today after not using the app for three days and again it deleted everything I added to the original deck. I’ve had it with this app. I’m going to try one by a different developer. I’m not stupid enough to waste my time trying a third time..Version: 1.14.1

Back to FlashcardsFlashcards was so much better, please put it back it was way easier to study with it. In Prep you can’t only study the cards you don’t know and it is really annoying. So please change it because Flashcards was so much better..Version: 1.8.0

Switching to the newer app deletes your decksI sat down and created 9 decks of Korean vocabulary that I’ve been learning and when I was forced to switch to the newer app, it deleted 8 of my decks and I can’t find them. I tried to check on the website and my decks are still missing. I even tried signing in and out. I’m so angry and disappointed. I’ll find an app that can perform better because this is ridiculous. If it doesn’t appear by tomorrow, I’m deleting my account and the app..Version: 1.12.0

:(I have lost all my Flashcards and it has zero tablet compatibility. It is frustrating to find out two years worth of flash cards gone right before your exam. Please fix it or return the older version..Version: 1.12.3

The old version much betterI had the original chegg flashcards app and loved it, when they updated it it became impossible to organise decks into subjects. also, i saved a deck that someone else made and no longer need it and am unable to remove it from my flashcards. the website version on my laptop works well still, would not recommend using this app..Version: 1.13.1

ShameThe old app was fine. But it was changed and so I lost all my cards. No warning! No archive!.Version: 1.13.1

You will LOSE your flash cards!!!Like others have said, I was using the older version and without any notification or warning was made to download this version and lost a recent deck I just made. Decided to download this version anyway and spent hours doing a new set of flash cards only to have it all ERASED when I went to other apps and came back to it later because of normal use (answering phone, checking text messages, etc...). The developers should feel ashamed that so many have reported this but have not fixed this problem. People have depended on this to help them learn things to pass tests or better themselves only to have all of that wasted. Seriously the developers should feel ashamed. If not, then I guess you are just soulless creatures who don’t care and this review doesn’t matter to you. But to everyone else, beware and maybe try another app unless you enjoy your hard work destroyed and taken away from you..Version: 1.11.1

Can’t study missed flash cards onlyI like the app but two things that really bother me- whenever I take a break from studying the flash cards, it doesn’t let me resume where I left off. 2- there are no other options but “study all flash cards” from each set. I’d like to have the option to study a small number of flashcards from ear set at a time, or at least let me study the ones that I didn’t get right. I make hundreds of flashcards at a time it makes it really hard to study them with this app. Please update, I have a major exam coming up soon and I was forced to leave study blue for this app..Version: 1.15.1

SuggestionsGreat beginning version, Chegg! Like how our cards’ content from old app transferred automatically to this new app. Requests: • Please eliminate the “see more” button when cards have lengthy content. Think simplicity. The fewer the buttons to push the better. • Need ability to paste images onto an individual flash card..Version: 1.10.1

They used to be great...Chegg had an amazing flashcard app that had every useful feature you could wish for. Then for some reason they changed their app and turned it into the garbage pile that sits before you now. So disappointed! The new Flashcards don’t even let you go back and study the cards you missed the first time around. Why on earth would you not allow a follow-up study session of the cards you actually need to study. Garbage!.Version: 1.13.0

Delete the good old Flashcards and now want people to accept the trash garbage prep.Lmfao so ducking garbage.Version: 1.14.1

Very annoyingI have all my memory items and aircraft question in different decks, and have kept adding to them for the last couple of years for my studies. Not happy, total waste of time...Version: 1.8.1

Bring back the Chegg FlashcardsDear developers, Looks like your “New version” of “Chegg flashcards”isn’t satisfying your consumers. Sincerely, I’m still keeping my Iphone SE(here in November 2020)just because I have the old Chegg flashcards on it. Over the years, 5 years to be exactly, I work every day to create more than 8000 words of heavy English learning. Recently I updated my phone and downloaded the Chegg Prep, unfortunately I can’t sync my old Chegg Flashcards anymore due as yourselves said “it is us, not you! Try again in a few minutes” so I’m here months late trying to sign in hopefully to sync my flashcards. Eventually I can buy a new Iphone and have it. Otherwise Chegg will still hold me with my old technology Iphone SE forever, or till this phone survives. Sincerely, a happy consumer of the “Chegg flashcards” that certainly will not migrate into a new version until it has the same standards as the old one..Version: 1.14.1

Very poor updateNot optimized for iPad, looks like iPhone size in the middle of the screen. Has deleted some of my old cards. No longer sorts decks into categories. Unfortunately user interface is lacking many features, bring back the old app - we never asked for this. Or just do some serious updates to this one..Version: 1.12.2

STAY AWAY! Bad app. Terrible support.I’ve been using the former version of this app on my iPad. I really loved it. However they have changed the app (no longer supporting the old version) however the new version is a 10 year step backwards. Not only did I loose 80% of my cards, but now it’s only available as an iPhone app?? What kind of BS is this from a commercial app developer in 2020??? If this is an indication of how they do business, you’d be well advised to steer clear of all of their products. From this point on, seeing as I have to re-type and re-enter all of my flash cards, I’ll be using another product from another developer. One that works on iPad, I’m done with these people. 😡.Version: 1.8.1

Bring back the old app! This managed to loose my progress in my flash cards twice in the last hour by signing me out, then not allowing me to save my progress. This sucks..Version: 1.8.1

DissapointingIts a shame because the old app was very useful but the new one is quite rubbish. Only half of my decks saved across, which is very annoying..Version: 1.8.1

Why did you downgrade your app?I’d used your previous flash card app for years. It was really useful. Your new app is terrible and I didn’t even get a choice to keep the old. Would be great if you could re-instate the previous version..Version: 1.8.1

Ruined a great toolI’ve been using study blue throughout nursing school and now the hundreds of hours I spent making notecards is gone. I lost most of my sets and none of them are organized in my classes anymore. I tried to organize the decks into classes but according to the app my school has no classes and we can’t even create a class anymore. I’m in my last semester of nursing school and I was suppose to be able to use all the decks I made over the year to study for the NCLEX but now I can’t. It is disappointing that you can’t even choose which cards you want to study anymore. The app is very lagging while studying so I decided to try the online website and it is even worse. You ruined an amazing tool that has helped me for many years..Version: 1.14.4

Not a bad appThe app itself is good enough for digital flash cards, however I would advise not searching for decks that others have created. It will show on your homepage and there is no way to remove it. I contacted their ‘support’ who was slow to respond in broken english and said it can not be removed despite the deck being completely useless. I tried to give feedback to developers but apparently this also can not be done. But it is free so wins and losses I guess..Version: 1.16.0

FoldersI really enjoy the app, however I think that if we could organise our decks into folders for each subject/category, it would be a lot better and convenient as many people would agree..Version: 1.17.3

Needs more features- needs to have different testing methods.Version: 1.16.0

0 Stars!! Deleted 2 years worth of cards. When you made the users switch from Chegg flash cards to Chegg prep, you deleted all of my Japanese vocabulary cards. I had 4 semesters, which is 2 years, worth of vocabulary & grammar cards which are ALL GONE NOW! The only thing that is left are the more recent flashcards decks that I will never touch again. Now It will be impossible to refill out the flashcards because I no longer have the books or Professor available! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! USE QUIZLET INSTEAD!!!!.Version: 1.17.3

Change from Flashcards+ to CheggI was a flashcards+ user and had created several dozen revision resources for myself. I was told to sign in to Chegg and I would get all my resources back but only a single flashcard was there. Years of work lost..Version: 1.10.1

Very unnecessary changesUsing the previous Chegg Flashcards+, I had all of my different subject as categories then the topics within the categories. This made it very easy to find the deck that I wanted to study. Now they are in a random order, all in one place so I have to spend more time trying to find the deck that I want just to find out that some haven’t transferred properly. I am approaching my GCSEs and I used Chegg Flashcards+ a lot because it was easy to navigate and understand but now by “building the features you need”, some of the features we loved were lost. Thanks for the amazing time I had beforehand and thanks for the painful 4 months from now until my exams..Version: 1.8.1

Simple changes neededI used to use the old StudyBlue website, which has now been integrated into CheggPrep. This app could be great, it just needs some simple changes. The ability to organise flash cards into classes and subjects, like StudyBlue used to do, would be so much better then the long list of every deck of flash cards the app shows. The ability to search within the list of flash cards would also make the app so much better..Version: 1.13.1

A major step backwardsNo No No No No... the Flashcards app was wonderful .. As well as losing the deck I spent 90 mins preparing this evening before I was forced into this downgrade I will now have to spend time looking for an alternate app and redo the decks because I won't be using this one. What a disappointment.Version: 1.10.1

StudyBlueI had just updated the study blue app not knowing about them being bought, and was able to fully use the app to make a set of flash cards and a new account. I close the app, attempt to open it again, just to get an immovable notification about needing to swap over to chegg prep. My new set of flash cards are gone and if I had not been able to use the app prior I would be a lot less annoyed at spending an hour on flash cards just to have them tossed into a void..Version: 1.16.0

WhySince they shut down the old app I thought I’d move onto the new one, however it didn’t transfer one of my decks which had 60 flash cards and took me about 3-4 hours to complete. Had an emotional breakdown. Thanks chegg..Version: 1.10.1

Used to be great! This used to be a program with all the belles and whistles, not any more; the update has removed the text to speech feature and it requires you to log in multiple times (sometimes) and you can’t access your own content if you are not logged in/ don’t have a wifi connection. In a nut shell older version such as 3.31.1 was better than the current version 1.12.3. I hope they will make this prog great again, so it’s worth buying it!.Version: 1.16.0

This app just sucksSure the design is more modern. But that’s about it. The text is so huge, it takes forever to scroll through my decks to find the one I’m looking for. In the old app (Chegg+ Flashcards), all my decks would fit on the screen. I hate how big the cards are when you open the deck. I just want to scroll through my cards before staring to flip. I could do that easily in the old app. Also is there a way to categorize my decks? I use flashcards to learn vocab for the languages I’m learning, and now all of my decks are mixed into one hot mess: body parts in Korean with furniture in Japanese and with emotions in French. This app is definitely a downgrade. Very irritating to use. I need my Chegg+ Flashcards back..Version: 1.11.1

No iPad versionI downloaded it on my phone first, and have just downloaded it onto my iPad too to find that it’s stuck in Portrait mode. Not very convenient. As far as I can remember, the old app didn’t have this problem. An update for this would really be appreciated..Version: 1.10.1

AverageThe old app was much better, don’t know why we were forced to replace with this app instead which is miles behind in terms of user friendliness..Version: 1.10.1

👎👎👎App really sucks, old version was soooo much better.Version: 1.9.1

All my own decks deletedWell, it was pretty useful before this surprising update without any warning or notification or preparation, all my data gone. Like a lot of ppl expressed here, just feels like all my material ive save up and gathered and worked on, gone in a flash!! (No pun intented) Well, welcome to the digital ages everyone! Never know when your material gets taken away without a word :(.Version: 1.17.3

Where is Landscape View???Chegg took a great app (Flashcards) and ruined it. The new app has way fewer functions than the old Flashcard app. Just one example: it only allows portrait view - no landscape mode. As others have mentioned, they locked me out of the old app without warning and forced me to move to the new app. Rule of thumb: If they have to force you to make the switch, then they know it isn’t really a better product. I’m now exploring new options for flashcards apps. I can no longer in good conscience recommend the Chegg app..Version: 1.12.0

It’s the worst app on earthYou’re card can’t be read out loud sonI can’t study my vocabulary list!👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻.Version: 1.13.3

ProblemI’ve updated to Chegg prep but can’t use speaker function anymore for pronunciation. This is a problem as I’m using the app to study a foreign language.. the old app was perfect for what I needed :-( Otherwise the app is great !!.Version: 1.10.1

HorribleCan’t even log in. Why are they messing things up when the original app was perfectly fine.Version: 1.7.0

NEVER TRUST CHEGGARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Random update and all my cards I made for the BAR EXAM are gone I worked SO HARD you jack a$$es just go ahead and do such dramatic changes without thinking if users go f@ck yourselves.Version: 1.9.0

THIS APP IS HORRIBLE!!!Flash cards WERE amazing, this new app is awful. Plus when we were forced to switch over, it lost a bunch of my data. Not impressed. - your flash cards are now public (you have to go through each one to make private). - they lost a bunch of my content during the switch. - the new layout is horrible Developers: did you even test this new app? The original app was perfect and you replaced it with a horrible version of it..Version: 1.8.0

It’s fineSeems good but where are my other decks??? i had 12 decks for my japanese lessons (Japanese L1, L2, L3 etc) but my Japanese decks L9-L12 are just missing. Seriously inconvenient if i have to make 200 flashcards all over again..Version: 1.8.1

UnreliableI would of gave this app 4-5* some time ago, although it deleted 95% of my flashcards that I accumulated for TWO years with this new update and completely deleted categories just before my exams, if this is how the app is going to move forward I strongly strongly suggest a more reputable app/software unless if you’re willing to unexpectedly lose everything..Version: 1.12.3

Not my cup of tea. This new version of the Chegg Flashcard app I’ve been using for over 2 years is horrible. I don’t see how getting rid of categories could possibly count as an “upgrade” at all! Considering I’ve had decks from years ago this has really made a mess of my flashcards. Really unfortunate considering how many decks and cards I had on here before this update, and now it has all gone to waste..Version: 1.8.1

Don’t waste your timeChegg, you guys have out done yourselves at really destroying something good. By far the worst app I have tried, and I grew up with the orig. IPhones. How can I study anything when the search results are flooded with nonsense that has nothing to do with what I’m looking for. It’s generic, it’s sloppy, and I think you guys need to pull the app and do some serious work on it before the already limited time of students is further wasted by trying to navigate this mess..Version: 1.11.0

Not syncMy Flashcards would not go from the flashcards + app to this app! And I logged into the same account! This is fricken annoying..Version: 1.8.1

Missing features that Flash Cards hadI liked flash cards, it’s format was easy to use. One great feature it had was the voice option. This was great for finding the right pronunciation of words when learning a foreign language. I asked a professor if the pronunciation in the app was close to being right, she said it was good. With more learning from home, this would be a great feature to add to this app because it was very helpful. Till it is added, I can only say this app is not a good upgrade..Version: 1.12.1

HORRENDOUSTwo days before my midterm, and my flashcards are gone. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! NEVER use this App!!!!!!.Version: 1.9.0

Terrible lossNo stars if I could. Unable to login to retrieve my flashcard work. What a shower! Unable to retrieve password. Do not deserve to have work on the app store. Apple please note!.Version: 1.10.0

MehHonestly I liked Study Blue better. I’ve been using this program to make flash cards for the last seven years, through multiple degrees, so I have many decks. Now I cannot group decks together, delete decks, or tag them with classes because it simply won’t save. I’m trying to get organized and I find the current performance of this app frustrating..Version: 1.16.0

Please, I would the other appsI prefer Flashcards. This new apps isn’t like the other. It’s isn’t clean..Version: 1.8.1

Years of hard work gone. The old app was good. I’ve made years worth of Flashcards that took me a VERY long time to make. And now they’re gone without any warning. Wish I could give 0 stars, I definitely will not be using chegg again. Completely ruined my day, now I have to start all over again..Version: 1.17.1

Why change?I hate the unnecessary changes to this app and the difference to the old one for several reasons: 1. In order to sort my subjects into categories, I have to register a school- I live in the UK and mine is not available. 2. Even after sorting subjects to categories, there is no way to search for them or find them via the categories, making it useless. 3. The decks are in a random order, with no correlation to their layout on the old app. 4. Although the app is iPad compatible, there is no rotation and it feels “clunky”. 5. I paid for the premium features on the old app, and they have not been carried over very well. In general, I am very disappointed in the app and wish that the company would provide an explanation for the change and possibly re-open the old app due to all the negative feedback received by the community. I had several years of work on here that is now ruined..Version: 1.8.1

No sound featurePlease bring back the old version of the app. I lost two decks of my cards and the sound feature is no longer available which is the reason I loved the app so much as it made language subjects like Spanish a lot easier to learn..Version: 1.11.1

Really good but you should bring back the category functionalityThis is a really good app but you can’t sort your flash cards into topics which would be useful for people who are studying for exams so each topic is easy to access..Version: 1.12.1

Shadow of it’s former selfThis app had wasted my time, so I will in turn use some time to warn others. Unfortunately this app no longer delivers anything near the previous app. It is counter intuitive and convoluted. R.I.P. Flashcards+. The app also has a lot of bugs you can read about in the comments. But DO NOT FRET MY FRIENDS! Go download the Quizlet app, and in 20 minutes after a short learning curve, you will be so happy that you have switched to a much much better app for flash cards..Version: 1.12.3

This is an downgrade, not an upgrade! It is now messy & clumsy. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I lost my flashcards that I saved last night to study for an assessment today..Version: 1.8.1

TerribleFlashcards + used to be so amazing. On Chegg prep, you cannot been organize your decks into categories (which I liked to do for subjects) and most frustratingly you cannot check off learned cards. How are you supposed to study If you can’t keep track of what you need to work on??.Version: 1.8.1

Really annoyingI used the old chegg Flashcards through my GCSEs, and it was the most useful revision resource ever, but I doubt understand how chegg thought this app would be better- you can’t group your packs of cards, you can’t even order them. I used to have all my cards in groups, and then organised into subjects. Now this app is just messy. If you leave the app whilst making a pack, it discards all your progress and sometimes I just check a message and I’ve lost hours worth of work. It’s harder to edit the cards, and when I want to learn them it automatically shuffles them-there’s no option to keep them in order and sometimes I make the packs with the intention of learning them in order. This app goes against what it is intended for- it would be much easier just to use paper. I really hope there are improvements, it would be great if it could be changed back to similar to chegg Flashcards..Version: 1.10.1

FrustratingIt deletes your work!.Version: 1.17.3

StupidWhy on Earth did you change Flashcards+?? It was the best. Now I have to find a new flashcard app to replace this garbage..Version: 1.8.0

Old app was WAY betterDownloaded this new app and it automatically synced my deck from the old app and made it PUBLIC automatically. Isn’t that a bit of a privacy concern? This app is such a massive downgrade from the previous app. I don’t see any added benefit only negatives..Version: 1.10.0

Need to be connected to the internet to useWhen the app was originally developed you did not need an internet connection to use the app, however since the update a couple years ago you are now required to be connected to the internet, otherwise the app will sign you out rendering it useless. I reached out to the developers over a year ago to discuss my concerns but nothing has been done to correct the issue. I am hoping this honest review will bring about a positive change..Version: 1.17.3

ShockingAVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE DO NOT USE DO NOT SAVRIFICE YOUR DATA TO THIS APP AVOID AVOID AVOID USE ANYTHING ELSE BAR THIS!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS APP IF YOU VALUE YOUR DATA AND INFORMATION. CANT ACCESS MY YEARS WORTH OF LANGUAGE DATA. MY DATA NOT YOURS. THE APP WAS SET BACK YEARS WHEN IT WAS SWAPPED OVER UNABLE TO MOVE FLASHCARDS UNABLE TO COPY AND EDIT VIEW IN THE SAME WAY It mangled my thousands of Flashcards. When the import happened they were all mixed up and I suspect some lost. Doesn’t deserve the one star. Have to rate it as that to submit but the indifference is palpable. They proclaim to be online to help on the twitter spiel then you dm them to be told email them then you come back with nonsense answers such as “sorry we don’t have a search function yet our engineers are working on it but there is no resolution date”. An awful app replacing a very effective one. The original helped me learn a language which I now appear to be forgetting because I can’t use it as effectively. AVOID THIS APP LIKE THE PLAGUE IT IS DIRE!!!!.Version: 1.13.0

Great for making flash cardsPros- It’s great when making simple flash cards and as many as you want. Able to share with everyone or keep to yourself Nice features to check off what you got write or wrong Cons- If you start making a deck and don’t click done it will not save which it really bad. I made many decks and a few of them got deleted because I failed to click done. Even when I’m switching apps they will be deleted. There should be an autosave feature instead of having the user click done. The older app was fine, this is somewhat of a step up..Version: 1.17.3

No landscape viewI had been using Study Blue for years and was sad they got bought. I thought Chegg would keep a lot of their good ideas but they didn’t. No landscape view which is the worst. I also can no longer import excel sheets which is where I have most of my vocabulary words stored. Each card has to be made individually which is kind of time consuming. They do have better image importing but the lack of landscape view is a huge drawback..Version: 1.14.4

Still waiting for a search featureMost apps have a search feature. When I have 200 words in a file and want to clarify the spelling or translation, I have to swipe through all the entries. Since the app is not user friendly - no search feature - I find that I haven’t used it last year at all..Version: 1.15.2

Hours of work got deleted 🥲I chose this because of the free addition of the pictures, but after several hours of making my batch of cards, it disappeared because it apparently refreshed in the background and didn’t save what I was still working on. Mind you, I needed to go back and forth between this app and others like safari for information and pictures and such, so this is a major problem. It also has less organization options than other services. All in all I think if you fix these major bugs it could be a really good app, but as of now I want to cry because school = anxiety, and hours of lost work = anxiety, so basically I’m just gonna cry 🥲.Version: 1.17.3

Do not waste your timeThis app is nothing compared with Anki. I gave multiple feedback about how it can be improved eg. Search own cards, spacing within cards, interface, etc. Nothing is ever done they don't even try..Version: 1.14.2

Super disappointedUpdate: where the f is the new version of this app containing all of the old features? Come on, you’re kidding me. The old flashcards app was perfect and this one completely ruins the experience. It is pure garbage and your development team should toss this. Why can’t we keep the old app. Update: Tried it again as your deadline is approaching. Absolutely terrible app, where are the updates? I’m still using the old flashcard app and if it stops working after January 30 I’m going to lose 100s of hours of work (8000 flashcards).Version: 1.8.1

Older app so much better!Older app was soooo much better with allthe basic features I needed—to categorize each deck, read aloud and search feature. NO SEARCH FEATURE FOR MY OWN DECKS!! Now, I have to go through EVERYTHING just to look for the deck that I need. EVerything is all over the place. NO WAY to categorize things. Things were so much better with the older app. Not sure why developers needed to do an upgrade only to mess things up!!.Version: 1.12.0

This app is hot garbageStill doesn’t have simple folder functions to organize cards. Tagging is a joke. No alternative quiz/studying options. Desync, trash servers, missing cards/decks. They use to have a great app now it’s this piece of trash. Now they’re buying out their competitors (who are way better) and merging it into this app. It’s been over 2 years and still not a single meaningful update. I might as well pay for quizlet unless you buy that too..Version: 1.13.0

What a disappointment!!I have used the predecessor to this (Flashcards+) and recommended it for many years to all my students and have now found I can no longer sync my cards on my old iPad to this version on my iPhone. This version has no categories and I cannot reorganise my packs of cards into subjects. I will now change to another provider and move all of my students across with me..Version: 1.13.0

Terrible DOWNgradeI have an exam in ten days and all my flashcards are either messed up without folders or completely gone. You can’t focus on the cards you haven’t mastered yet, have to do the whole deck again. The read-aloud feature is gone, the shuffle feature is gone, I have no idea why they did this but I’ll be deleting the app after this. I’m so mad!.Version: 1.8.1

NopeHadn’t managed to sign in because it kept throwing me out previously and I lost all of my latin cards. Not a great start to this app.Version: 1.10.1

Bring back the old appThe old app was great and I used it for over 2 years. This new one is terrible, they’ve gotten rid of all the features that made it useful for studying like being able to study only the cards you don’t know. I’m so disappointed and I won’t be using any Chegg apps anymore.Version: 1.8.1

Lost Card - Wasted EffortI had originally planned on using the Flashcards app locally. Hence, I didn’t really pay attention to the account creation process. Fast forward to 2020 and the app is no longer supported (with no warning, whatsoever) and Chegg has the audacity to tell me that I need to login again on a whole new app to recover years’ worth of effort. When I opened this app, I was appalled to find that it wasn’t optimised for the iPad at all and, on the whole, was rather rough around the edges. So, not only did the geniuses at Chegg lay out hurdles to transitioning between apps, they made the final app as barebones as they possibly could get away with. I hope whichever brainlet that greenlit this endeavour is happy with themselves..Version: 1.12.1

Disappointing!I agree with another user comments about the new upgrade from chegg+ is terrible. There is no way to organize cards, new design is not user friendly. No need to ‘fix’ something that didn’t need fixing..Version: 1.9.1

Do not recommendNot only is this app so much worse than the discontinued flashcards+ but when I log in with my facebook it now just says something went wrong so I have lost all of the flashcards that I had stored on it. Awful app please just bring back flashcards+ or incorporate its way of ordering decks into this app.Version: 1.12.0

Awful and disrespectful to long term usersI refuse to use this until you add categories and make it iPad compatible. I have been using flashcard + for years throughout my GCSES, ALEVELS And I still intensely use it now at university. This new app that we are now being forced to migrate over to 1. Messes up the organisation of your flashcard decks 2. Is not compatible with iPad (which is what I primarily use). The fact that we are being forced to move to such a disadvantaged app over the original FLASHCARDS+ makes no sense and I hope they change their mind or I will loose all the years of work I have..Version: 1.7.0

Significantly changedI can no longer easily find my cards which had taken years to develop. You guys have really ruined an app I so enjoyed and found functional. Change for the sake of change. Why can’t I have my old platform back?? I’ve never written a review before but unfortunately feel compelled to warn people. Avoid..Version: 1.17.2

😭😭😭BRING FLASHCARDS BACK!!!.Version: 1.8.1

Chegg prepLost all my flash cards , why change something that’s all ready good?! Ridiculous....Version: 1.8.1

Lost flashcardsCan you let me get my Flashcards Plackett please. Lost lots of work. Not cool!.Version: 1.9.1

Nice enoughI used to love Chegg flashcards. It had exactly the things I needed in a flashcard app: it was simple, allowed you to test the front or the back, and had neat organisation features. In that sense, this app meets all those requirements which I haven’t found on any other. However, as an app itself, it is a bit lacking. For one, I prefer to study on my iPad and this is an app optimised for the iPhone. That’s why I can’t autorotate (and I prefer to use landscape on my iPad). Secondly, I have to increase the screen size, which makes the whole app look zoomed in and chunky. Overall, the aesthetics and intuitiveness of the app could be improved - this is something that is easier to do if the app is an iPad app, as it allows for more space to work with. I like a simple app, but simple doesn’t mean basic. It can be simple and pleasant to look at too, like its predecessor, Flashcards. I don’t usually write reviews, but I noticed that Chegg has been amazing about listening to feedback for this app over the last couple of months (based on reviews). I can only hope they read this too, because I would like to stick with this app and have only started to use it in the hopes that my suggestions will soon be heard..Version: 1.11.0

This isn’t an upgradeChegg must have lost the rights to the previous program. This replacement is so inferior and basic compared to Chegg Flashcards+ that they must be just starting out from scratch. They probably do have the rights to our previous cards. So they can import (some of ) them into the new program. There are other more mature products out there that are a much better choice than this app. None of them are as good as Chegg flashcards+. I would not waste my time begging Chegg to bring back the old app. There was a reason they killed it, and I am convinced that they were forced to by whoever owns the rights to that program. Otherwise, they would never have put out this app, especially being as basic an nonfunctional as it is. New update still doesn’t speak and isn’t compatible with landscape mode for iPad. I think I will stick with Quizlet.Version: 1.10.0

UPDATES lost 100 new flashcards!I was a regular user of the old version of the app and even paid to access the premium features. With the update I lost over a 100 flashcards I was making that I didn’t even get a chance to study. Moreover, the features I paid for- especially the colour and highlight features with premium- seem to be gone. When I bought this issue up with feedback team, they seem to conveniently ignore my request for a refund as these tools aren’t available anymore. Furthermore they have been telling me their “engineers” are looking for the missing cards but haven’t seemed to find it yet. I am very very annoyed and displeased with how they have gone about changing the app - especially locking us out of the old app. I won’t be using this app for studying again as they are unreliable and don’t really seem to care about their customers.Version: 1.8.1

The older app is betterI found it easier to study in the old app, this one mixes up all my cards and I need them to be in order. I have 120 cards to remember and since they are not in order, I can’t study them properly. Bring back the old app. It was waay better..Version: 1.9.0

Bring back the old app!None of my cards would sync! This new app is crap!.Version: 1.8.1

BadLost all my flashcards. Only remained 1!!.Version: 1.9.1

What was the motive here?I can’t see how this could possibly be an “upgrade” from an app that worked almost flawlessly anyway. I’ve lost all my Flashcards in a jumble of unorganised decks (as there’s no easy way to organise them like there was in the old app) due to the terrible new layout. This catastrophe coincidently had to happen 3 days before my Y11 GCSE mocks!!! Thanks Chegg for making me restart 3 years worth of prep that was working perfectly fine. And to anyone who also needs to restart, Brainscape is decent place to start and is definitely better than this..Version: 1.8.0

Sucky appTwice now I was using this app when after making around 30 cards I would have to go to a different location where the WiFi was weak. I pressed done both times before leaving so I thought the deck was saved, but when I went back to add more it would not let me save and when I got WiFi the app reset and I lost over half of the cards I had made, including the ones I had made with internet..Version: 1.17.3

GarbageThe old Flashcard + app was everything you could have wanted as a study tool. This app is literally a waste of time. The app isn’t even designed for iPad. Why rush to market with such a poor offering? Check out the FAQ, so many features that were working fine on the old app are ‘No currently supported’..Version: 1.8.1

App doesn't workI can't delete any decks, and didn't transfer all my data from previous app. Avoid!.Version: 1.16.0

Don’t try making anything in airplane modeI was on a flight making a bunch of cards but chegg choked when I got back off airplane mode and all the work was lost..Version: 1.17.1

Terrible changeI’m a medical student who used to use the old chegg+ app and it was amazing and I heavily relied on it for my revision. The new app has lost half of my cards and there is little support in trying to retrieve them. 2 years of medical school work down the drain.Version: 1.12.3

Hours of work lostI previously had 100s of Flashcards on Chegg’s Flashcards app. After installing an update the app will not allow me access to my Flashcards, said it was no longer supported and I needed to use this Chegg prep app. I downloaded the app and signed in and only a small portion of my Flashcards are there. Dozens and dozens of hours are gone. I’m sure there’s some explanation that I had somehow signed out of the flashcard app at somepoint but this is maddening. I cannot even access the old app anymore. I don’t care if you’ve stopped supporting it, you should let me access it and get my data. I have no use for all these fancy features. All I wanted was a simple flashcard app. I shouldn’t have to login in the first place. Just let me save things locally and give me control over the work I create. I will be looking for a different app..Version: 1.17.3

No offline functionality. The app doesn’t let you edit your decks when you aren’t connected to the internet, which makes it completely useless for me. It just makes the app seems very sketchy. A huge downgrade from previous editions..Version: 1.14.3

Not savingI’ve been using chef prep since in integrated with Study Blue and was enjoying it but now it’s not saving any new flash cards and says oops there seems to be a problem saving your changes, I’ve wasted a good few hours these last few days making flash cards for revision that won’t save, not useful if I can’t make cards for everything I need to revise..Version: 1.16.0

Awful! This is a downgrade on the old appI used Chegg Flashcards + and cannot comprehend why that has been shelved for this pointless app. Countless hours of revision notes are all mixed up and worthless. I am so disappointed..Version: 1.12.1

Poor UpdateThe complete removal of categories makes the app very unorganised and messy. Have to scroll through all the decks I’ve created to find the correct one and there is no search feature for your own decks. Having to keep the orientation portrait is also undesirable especially for iPad users. Older version was perfect, should have just left it as it was, very disappointing.Version: 1.12.0

Massive step downThere is no iPad version, there are no folders to organise decks into and all in all this new version of the app is a massive step down from the old one. Can you make the old version available again? This app is bad to the point of it being near unusable..Version: 1.7.0

Not as good as study blueHello developers, I hope you get this review. I am okay with you guys switching from study blue to this but if you are going to do that, please make it so when I study my flash cards, I can study the ones I did wrong and can track my progress the same way as study blue did. Also when I try to log in on the Chegg prep app with my google account that I used for study blue, I get an error message saying “something went wrong”. Please fix this as I don’t want to remake all my flash cards again. Other than that, I see Chegg prep being a success as long as you guys listen to the users. Thank you for reading..Version: 1.13.1

So many problemsI used to use a chegg flash card app that was amazing. You could organise your cards into founders, use different colours, and save them without a fuss. This app has taken its place and it is SO much worse. The app keeps deleting the cards I make - I make 10 new cards, go off the app, go back on and they’re gone. There is no colouring option and no organisation. When you write your cards the screen often goes all over the place and makes to almost impossible to see what you’re tying. If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it - why did they change the old app? This one has so many new problems that were all fixed previously. I would have gave the old app 5 stars but I’m going to have to advise you to look for a different app for flash cards now (unless they fix these issues).Version: 1.12.0

I had crucial flash cards that I spent hours makingI had crucial flash cards that I spent hours making just for them to be gone with no access or recovery to them because they decided we needed an all in one app. I’m just going to find a new app that won’t just lock me out of my stuff without notification..Version: 1.13.3

Used to be goodWas using the old program and put in about 30 cards manually. Then the next day I open the app up and it’s like “LOL, you can’t use this app any more. Get the new one”. So I get the new one and it goes “LOL, I lost 29 of your 30 new cards”. I figure it’s a problem with the transition so I do another hour of work creating another 30 cards or so and the next day guess what, “LOL, I dumped all of your new cards but one again”. Well, it was nice using this app before but I’m done with the new version. Maybe I’ll still look at some of my old decks, or just delete the app since I can’t seem to get anything new to stick. Bummer..Version: 1.14.3

I miss Flashcards so muchThis program is garbage and you already had a perfectly good app in Flashcards. Why have you taken it away from us, you jerks? This garbage app NOT ONLY won’t let you study only what you don’t know, but DELETES what you’ve marked as known, so you can’t even keep track. If it were a physical object I would kill this program with fire to be sure it was dead. And all my cards from the wonderful Flashcards+ (deprecated, by the same company) are TRAPPED in this HOT DUMPSTER FIRE of an app..Version: 1.8.0

Sooo disappointing...I used the older version, Chegg Flashcards +, with great success. I was able to have sections of the actual topic (e.g. geography) then have categories within that section (e.g. costal erosion). This made it very easy to revise. But now all the categories cannot be bunched together so I often miss things and it makes finding everything very irritating. Unless there changes are made I wouldn’t advise getting this app. It’s messy and disorganised..Version: 1.10.1

Horrible for flashcards and horrible for iPadThis app is pretty atrocious for flashcards. From both the app and the website (tried on desktop or iPad or phone) there is no way to see all of the flashcards in a certain course that your classmates have made, even if they are public. The only way I’ve been able to find any is by googling for the decks but this is a huge failing on chegg. They’ve bought out StudyBlue which had a good organisation system so I don’t get why they don’t keep that system? Also, there is no dedicated iPad app, there is only an iPhone port so it lacks the rotation function (holding iPad from portrait to landscape or vice versa). It also leaves you with the option of either tiny but not pixelated app, or a very pixelated (nearly) full screen. I had higher expectations from a company with this much capital. The one redeeming quality is that it is free, which is not surprising, I would be very angry if I paid a buck for this..Version: 1.14.1

DisappointedThe Chegg Flashcards app was great, but for some reason they felt the need to change it. This would have been fine, but they have managed to make the app worse by doing so. I can’t put my decks into categories and I am in the UK so I can’t register my school to do it. The cards are now also arranged almost randomly and things are difficult to find. This would all be fine, and I wouldn’t mind the changes if they allowed me to use the old app. But they don’t so I wrote this review to try and get chegg to make some much needed changes. The Flashcards were great, so I am really hoping that they pick up their game..Version: 1.8.1

Don’t botherChegg used to have a great flashcard app, then they replaced it with this. You can’t even organise your decks into folders. I wouldn’t bother, plenty of other descent flashcard apps out there. Shame because their original flashcard app was really good..Version: 1.8.1

DisappointingI have lost a lot of my decks and cards with this update. The update had also taken away a lot of features that made this a great app. The ability to add images to your Flashcards and the ability to sort cards into folders... just disappointing.Version: 1.9.1

Useful app - don’t forget to press “done”I use this app a lot for making cue cards to help me study for my university classes. Today I was making cue cards, got interrupted about an hour in, so I turned off my phone and kept the app open the whole day. When I returned to the app, it refreshed and I lost all the cue cards I had been working on since I never pressed “done”. I am so disappointed because I essentially wasted an hour of my time. I know now that I have to press “done” every time I leave the app. I hope the app can be adjusted in some way so this won’t happen to others in the future..Version: 1.13.1

Complete downgrade from original flashcards appVery disappointing. Many features from the earlier Chegg flashcards app are lost, with no real improvements. For example, having an audio component for the foreign language vocab I was practicing. Also seems to be not designed for tablets, just phones, as it doesn’t fit the screen or rotate with the device. Overall, this was a sloppy transition which did not take into the account of the needs of the users.Version: 1.13.1

CryingSpent 2 hours making a massive pack of flash cards and it didn’t even save 😃😃😃 kill me x.Version: 1.17.3

From great to FLOPLost all of my updates to my cards after hours of work on my phone. Decided to recover by doing the changes all again from scratch on my iPad with the keyboard...only to discover that the ‘new and improved’ forced upgrade doesn’t support landscape mode to type with a keyboard. Way to go, Chegg!! *delete* Now to start shopping for an app that will actually do what I want aaannnnnd keep my data safe..Version: 1.11.1

ChegTThe multiple choice is not woroki.Version: 1.17.3

Terrible downgradeI lost half of my all my flash cards I had previously made and the new app has removed all the features that made the original good like the ability to sort decks in folders to keep them organised.Version: 1.9.1

Terrible AppIt is messy, inefficient and unreliable. The app has deleted my cards on countless occasions whether that be a glitch or when I exit the app even just to check a message. It’s ridiculous. Hours of work lost because the app is incapable of saving the progress..Version: 1.16.0

Just bad.Terrible if you are using an iPad since there is no iPad version. Old app is so much better! Bring it back..Version: 1.8.1

You have to be jokingYou trashed an excellent app to make THIS? It doesnt even display properly in ipad. Where’s all the audio I had for to my French slides. This is a total burn guys. Back to using Anki..Version: 1.10.1

TrashThis app replaced the standalone flash card app which was a very bad decision. Decks are just a mess without folders (the course tagging doesn’t help this), you can’t just study the cards you need more focus on (have to do the whole deck), you can’t go back and re-mark a card if you pressed the wrong button, and there’s a one second delay for an animation after you mark a card. Either bring back the old app, or let us export our decks to another app!.Version: 1.8.0

A disappointment like no otherZero tablet compatibility, the inability to group cards, the inability to search cards, the inability to meaningfully customise cards, terrible search functionality and a user interface reminiscent of a mid 2000’s educational flash game. I have never been so disappointed to see a developer throw out one of the best flashcard apps on the App Store to replace it with such a bootleg, buck tooth alternative. It’s like returning a kidnapped child and expecting thanks because they only chopped most of its arms and legs off. Put Flashcards+ back..Version: 1.12.0

Lost almost all my flashcardsWithout any warning I was forced off the Slides+ app, and although I logged in with the same account, NONE of my recent slides are here on the new app. Some are here, but not all of them by a mile, and not organized by any of the decks/courses I had created in the previous app. I just effectively wasted hours and hours of my life creating flashcards yesterday, and today I log in and they are all gone. I’m literally crying at the prospect of starting my entire test prep process over. what a horrible thing to do to students. I’ll be trying to find alternate flashcard apps, I cannot trust Chegg..Version: 1.13.1

RuinedThis was an amazing App. It has been completely ruined since sold out/taken over or whatever has happened. I paid for the additional features to be able to colour text and backgrounds. This feature and others are no longer available. A refund would be nice..Version: 1.12.3

Forced into worseI’ve been using Flashcards to study Japanese for two years now. It’s done everything I’ve needed to learn my vocabulary. But now I’m forced to use this app because the other one won’t open. This app is much worse than Flashcards and totally unusable to me. Namely the ability to study on the known/not known parts of your decks is completely absent. If they don’t fix it FAST I’m going to have to start the painful process of finding a new app and moving over hundreds of cards into it..Version: 1.8.0

BADI LOST ALL MY FLASHCARDS FOR MY NATIONAL 5 EVEN AFTER LOGGING BACK IN !! VERY ANNOYING.Version: 1.14.1

The “update” destroyed the appI’ve spent years building thousands of Cantonese study cards on the Chegg app. In addition to study, I used the search function to find groupings of terms and to search a word if I needed it. The new “upgraded” app doesn’t have a search function within that deck of cards (a reason I got the original app to begin with). Now if I want to find a card I have to scroll through 4000+ cards. Each card had an English translation, the phoneticized Cantonese, and the Chines character. I had vocab, phrases, conversations, martial art terms, movie stuff, everything. It took my forever to make these. Wasted time now. Worse yet there is no capability to download the cards so I can put them in my own database. Chegg has literally stolen my six+ years of work and research in a puff of smoke. USE ANY OTHER FLASHCARD APP..Version: 1.10.1

Lost decksI’ve lost over a hundred flashcards since they forced the update. They’re just gone. Whatever attempted interest from Chegg at retrieving the lost cards has since passed. I, along with most other folks that used the previous version of Flashcards/prep, could make an extensive list of how the previous iteration was vastly superior. Instead of doing that, I’ll reduce it to one super confusing issue: no search feature? I enter a deck with 100+ cards and I can’t search within it. How and why?.Version: 1.10.1
