✓ Good but needs some workThe game is good and all but it needs some major work to stop the crashing issue that happens all the time no matter what I’m doing during a skirmish or during a campaign mission it crashes constantly without fail every half hour or so it crashes and I lose all the progress I had made. So I’m going to uninstall the game and check back in about 1-2 months to see if they fixed the problem. ✓ Would love to give more but...This is a brilliant port of an excellent game but there are a few things a miss: I’ve completed the goals on the St Lo mission but it won’t progress 🤨 AI is terrible, enemy units will sit and get hit without reacting. AT gun emplacements, for instance, will sit and get attacked from the flanks and rear without redeploying to engage 🥱 There is a skirmish mode, which is good, but no online multiplayer option 🙁 it really could be better. Too easy to cheese the levels.. just sit back and let the resource counters fill up. Population cap of 75 is restrictive, i've rarely had to use troop special abilities, can’t destroy buildings once they’re built (or if you can it isn’t obvious how)... I’ve played it loads, so it’s killed some time but for fourteen quid it’s lacking some essential polishing... one of the over riding fails is the lack of an online multiplayer option....App Art MentalVersion: 1.0.3

✓ Needs more workI have enjoyed this game for many years now. So great to see it on iOS. I continue to have an issue where something somewhere is selected and I can not do anything else. I can’t select troops or move or do anything. The game isn’t frozen but for such an expensive game I would think these flaws would be ironed out. ✓ Keeps crashing during skirmishFor some random reason the game keeps crashing during skirmish. For one 500 point vp game it crash 3 times on me. Kills my enthusiasm for the game. Added to that is the hard to play RTS style touch pad use. When you want to chase the OP snipers with Jeep’s or bikes the janky movement and direction makes it extremely difficult. Kiting with the cars is difficult as well thanks to this. I cannot help but feel I am limited by the touch style of play. I bought the app because the nostalgia value and kinda regret it as the game play is kinda ruins my past memories of the game..NoxrigeVersion: 1.2

These tend to happen after you've been playing a while ( not every match, but maybe 50% of them). If you're familiar with the crashing issue Northgard has, its essentially the same deal: 20 minutes in and you've suddenly lost everything. ✓ Good Game. One Control Bug So FarI love the game. Very fun to play with a Bluetooth mouse on iPad Pro 2020. I am having an issue now that does take me out of the immersion. When I click to throw a grenade or satchel, it is not possible to click with the mouse to target a spot to throw. I have to click on the spot where the grenade is going with my finger, and then I can click confirm with the mouse. It isn’t an enormous issue. But I wanted to give it some attention. Devs, if you fix this, I will happily change my review to five stars, and you can showcase your awesome support! Side note: A response would also be amazing if I am just doing it wrong. ✓ Ok, but..Had this game on my Mac and played it for years on and off. The iPad version is a faithful copy, but... it crashes all the time, totally unacceptable for a game that costs £14.. get it sorted developers! I send a crash log every time, so don’t ask me to get in touch to give details. All problem is trying to get units to face the ⎌right direction is challenging, particularly if you are fighting battles in different places on the map. Also if an AT unit is getting attacked from the side, it doesn’t move or react, which would obviously not happened in a real attack. Reading reviews from over a year ago and they haven’t been fixed obviously, such a shame as this mobile version is quite good otherwise. ✓ DLC will not load when not connect to the internetI enjoyed the game so much that when they came out with opposing front I bought it right away. However, when I travel without access to the internet (on the plane, etc), the game does not recognize that I have downloaded the DLC. I tried restarting the iPad, quit the game all the way and restart, nothing helped. But once I connected back to the internet, the DLC magically showed it’s been downloaded. I’ve emailed Feral and even they said they were able to reproduce the problem back in April and there hasn’t been any improvement… a bit disappointed considered its since a great game.Vincent MoyVersion: 1.2.2

✓ Bad in app purchasesI purchased the DLC Opposing fronts and downloaded it, then when I went to play it, it showed that it needs to be downloaded. No big deal right. I go to restore the app purchase, it pops up to download the dlc, then promptly takes me to the screen to pay the $4 for the DLC a second time, literally moments after purchasing it. If it wasn’t clear, I purchased the DLC then downloaded it, went to play it, was shown that I need to re download it, tried to restore the app purchase and then was taken to the screen to re pay for it just moments after having paid and downloading the DLC. ✓ DisappointedAs someone who downloaded the game when it first got ported to iPhone and bought each expansion as they came out, it’s extremely disappointing to now have the game be unplayable. I used to play the game on an iPhone 8 & 9, only ever had a few crashes, I’ve been playing on an iPhone 12 for a while now and it was much better at first, better graphics and ran much smoother, in the past month I simply have not been able to play the game at all, I will get 15 minutes into a campaign game and the app will crash, I get half an hour into a skirmish and the app will crash, I’ve restarted the app, restarted my phone, nothing seems to change this. I hate having to give the game only 3 stars as I genuinely love it and have put plenty of hours into it, when it runs, it’s the best game to have in your phone, but at this moment in time it couldn’t be any more infuriating. ✓ Bugs in Operation Market GardenI’ve progressed through to the campaign at Arnhem to capture the bridge, but the game freezes 2/3s of the way through the game, every time I play it. On one occasion there were pink distortions across the screen. It freezes at the same point, after moving east to attack the church on the eastern side of the map. When the game freezes nothing works and the only solution is to close the game and restart it. The game now freezes almost immediately after opening it up. I am using an iPad Pro with IOS 16.3, yet this game appears too demanding for even my iPad. There are still a lot of bugs to fix, which started after I bought and downloaded Operation Market Garden. I played CoH on PC from when it first came out and my iPad is considerably faster and more powerful than the PC I played the game on, and the conclusion can only be, it is full of bugs. ✓ One of my best gamesI seriously havnt put this games down for months, its so adictive. There is also now a tone of new content for it too. My only criticisms are that there are some bugs in the game that have prevented me from completing all of the missions such as engineers not planting explosives when ordered too. ✓ AIEven when I play on easy it’s ridiculous, I had an enemy sniper jump in and out of a structure while my machine gun team would nonstop setup and takedown their system, I tried to get them into a structure but the enemy sniper would jump in and out of whichever structure the team tried to enter while taking shots at the team (all while the AI was able to watch an entirely different part of the map attacking with vehicles). I took my losses and sent a mortar team to destroy the snipers lone structure. The mortar team (well within range) setup and took down their mortar a few dozen times, and kept inching closer each time, until finally the sniper killed all three without a single mortar being fired. AI is able to see the entire map and control all units at all times making gameplay of scrolling and selecting on a phone painfully unequal. ✓ Baffling choice of map orientation in skirmish mode.I often don’t write reviews, but felt compelled to here. As a long time Company Of Heroes player I was so excited to hear that one of my all time favourites was coming to iOS. The port performs well. I’ve completed the campaign many times over, so the big sale was the ability to play Skirmish mode mobile. Yes it’s a downer there’s no multiplayer, but the real thing that stood out is no matter which position you started, the map will show you in the bottom left. This goes completely against the PC game. If you happen to start in position 1 in say Angoville, the map is literally flipped 180. As a long time player it’s massively disorienting and throws you off. Yes you can change the camera rotation round. But both the bottom left map and tactical map are will still remain in a weird flipped position. Position 2 on the other hand is fine, as it starts in that position normally. In Semois, because no starting position is bottom left, both positions have their maps rotated. I totally don’t understand this decision. The PC version doesn’t do this. Please give us an option and choice in the settings for a return to its classic map behaviour. All those years playing the game and learning maps is kinda thrown off as soon as you get a rotated map. ✓ Issues on 2020 iPad Pro :(Firstly I’m so glad this game is available on iPad, Thankyou Feral Interactive:) There seems to be an issue with the latest iPad Pro in that the graphics are set to the lowest resolution, blurry textures, no shadows, and there’s no difference between turning battery saver off or on. My game looks nothing at all like the screenshots or like the playthroughs I’ve watched on YouTube...do you have an eta on when this is likely to be addressed? ✓ TrashGreat game almost 20 years ago. Nostalgia hit so get it. But this abomination is sheer crap. Not worth the money for all the bugs I have to endure. Game gets crazy when trying to download the add ons as you see it during gameplay with messed up lettering. Another issue is the constant crashes the game makes. ✓ Five stars for a version that actually worksThe most frequently used function in this game is ‘Send Crash Report’. The auto save feature crashes ~50% of the time. If you’re not good enough to program a feature that works then you can simply not offer it. They have instead chosen to just throw it in there, consequences be damned. If the game worked better (or like 80% as good as pretty much every other game out there in the year of our Lord 2022) it would be great. It doesn’t. That’s a choice made by the dev team. I tried contacting them and received a generic reply asking me to list what I was doing each time it crashed. What are crash logs for??? ✓ Great but....This was one of my favourite pc games years ago and been waiting for it to come across to Xbox....never did but was overjoyed to see an iPad version...but , Came control and unit placing isn’t quite right, it is slow an unresponsive at times, also the skirmish difficulty level isn’t quite right in fact even easy cpu opponent settings seem unusually hard compared to the campaign which was never that easy, if they could add iPad mouse support to this I think it would work much better, still I do enjoy it a lot maybe a bit power hungry but bear that in mind don’t be far from a charger if you never played the pc version or was a fan it’s still a decent game.OldmacdazzVersion: 1.3.2

✓ PotentialThe graphics were on par or better then the pc game. To me, control was an issue. Double tapping or double tapping and holding would often have to be repeated to yield the desired action. I can recall trying to take a control point or fuel point and having to keep tapping until I found the sweet spot. Trying to point a machine gunner to cover a certain area and having to double tap and hold several times until I had control to do this. I had also chosen the older style control set instead of the round dial. Wore my fingers out. PC version is better for this reason. Maybe I will try the other control set or my iPad mouse.
