Where Cards Fall for Positive User Reviews

Fantastic quality game, no clue about the story thoughGreat game, maybe even brilliant. Almost didn’t download this don’t know why. Love it, each level is so much fun and the music is awesome. Visuals are brilliant. The story/cut scenes though whilst they look great. No idea what is going on. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is because I’m not sure what I’m watching in the cut scenes and there’s no way to skip which is annoying :(. Highly recommend the game though!.Version: 1.0

Amazing yet flawedEdit: Just updated and lost all my progress!! Love the graphical style, the sound design is so tactile, love the interactions. The puzzles get progressively difficult. Some interactions have little bugs but nothing too major. The big strong point is the gameplay , so I felt the story and cutscenes were too abstract, and actually obstruct the gameplay and become a bit of an annoyance. But a definite buy for anyone who likes a challenge..Version: 1.1.2

Fun puzzler with puzzling storylineLike other reviewers I enjoyed the puzzles but the cut scenes left me scratching my head at times. Even though the basic mechanic of moving cards around and expanding/contracting them is simple, more card types are added as the game progresses and the puzzles get steadily harder. I found the controls intuitive and, although there were a couple of occasions when I had to restart a level because accidentally I sent the character marching off in the wrong direction and didn’t countermand the order quickly enough. The cut scenes on the other hand take a bit of working out. I get that it follows the character from school, through college to their first job (as an architect?). I also think I understand that the big eyes represent grown ups / authority figures and that taped up boxes symbolise moving in or out of somewhere. The relationships between the characters left me scratching my head a bit and I didn’t really follow what happened in the last few cut scenes. Proper voiceover dialog would help or, failing that, some english subtitles to go with the unintelligible “simlish” would give us a better chance of following the story..Version: 1.3

AWSOOOOMEEE (developer, please repley.)Maybe this game can be easier? Im at a haarrrrdd level, been at it 4, like, an hour. I ya want me 2 like this, please go thro all the levels and make them easier? Thank you very much. (Such a coooool game) LOL.Version: 1.4.1

Marvelous, long puzzler with a meta-storyWonderfully long, with original gameplay mechanics. Stuck? Ask the game for a hint, but I challenge you to try without using them often. There is a lovely meta-story that develops between levels. Congratulations to the developers. The levels must have been challenging to conceive and test!.Version: 1.3

Incredible game and story. The game's main mechanism involves building houses of cards to create pathways around the landscapes, though figuring out where and how to craft these buildings is easier said than done. And the game does a wonderful of with the difficulty progression and introduction of new card. The art style, music and sound effects all play wonderfully and that end credit music is amazing! I love these type of games where the story is not told directly to the player but more told through the game, leaving each player with there own story and how it connects to there own life. This game is simply amazing. Great jobs to the devs and everyone who worked on this project! I can’t wait to see what you all make next..Version: 1.4.1

Wow ngl.I got this game bc i got the apple arcade membership for free for 1 month and wow i’m so surprised how fun this game is! It’s a puzzle type game and it’s so great for your brain but also-just beautiful art work in general. Left me breathless how amazing the art was and the graphic etc. the story is a bit confusing but i just started playing yesterday but wow great game!:).Version: 1.4.1

Good game but keep crushingCan't even get pass the first level, just kept crushing I use iphone 6 The graphic is nice, but a bit too nice that the game is laggy and crushes very often I can feel that this could be an interesting game Please fix it soon so i can enjoy the game 🙏.Version: 1.0

Game onWoohoo, saved data is back!! Back to the game. Brilliant, challenging and very enjoyable. Only game I’ve stuck with since signing up to arcade!.Version: 1.1.1

Well Made Game. It’s peaceful and has an unique take. I haven’t played a game like this one before. The scenes are beautiful; the music and game are very enjoyable. I would not say that the premise or anything about the game is frustrating. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, get-to-the-point game, I’m afraid this isn’t the one for you. The adolescent scenes are enjoyable and calming. I enjoy the reminiscent feel. I don’t think this is a game for everyone, but the controls are simple and easy to follow. The ones who commented that it was “frustrating” or “confusing” simply haven’t played a lot of games. A layman can understand it. You’ll know right away after the first two levels if it’s a game that you’ll enjoy..Version: 1.4.1

Unique and foggyJust finished. Worthwhile level of challenge. Beautiful artwork. Peaceful and engaging. Definitely worthy of high marks if you like challenging but not excruciating puzzle games. Opportunities for improvement. 1. Agree the cut aways are not everyone’s cup of tea, but I liked them. Eventually, you enjoy the creative artwork and get the unique storyline, albeit melancholy. However, I was a little ticked off with the ending being less than anti-climactic. For all of that effort, something a little bit more celebratory in both a graphic and storyline perspective would have been just rewards. Sadly, without more punch in the end felt cheated of my time. If it not for the artful puzzles, I would have given it a lower rating for that reason alone. 2.Please give the user the option of opening and closing the deck of cards with different movements or clicks. Having to pinch Open and close was extremely cumbersome. Most importantly, if you made an error, it could send your character to places you didn’t want to go and completely mess up all of your hard work on that level. I almost stopped playing because of it..Version: 1.4.1

Great puzzles. Awful, unskippable cut scenesJust let me skip the cutscenes and this would be a five star game for me. Great puzzles and beautiful to look at..Version: 1.2

Very enjoyableGood puzzle game follows a young man from school through collage who become an architect... only slight issue I found was the guide in the last level leads you up a blind alley. Overall very enjoyable..Version: 1.2

Great puzzleWonderful story and the puzzles are nicely done.Version: 1.4

Good puzzle, bad storylineI really enjoyed the gameplay on puzzles, also the sound design and music is amazing. It gives some sense of satisfaction. But that euphoria of finishing a puzzle is getting ruined by the forced cut scenes that you have to watch it and try to make sense of it!.Version: 1.4

I love itThis game has been one of my absolute favorite games on Apple Arcade. It is truly one of a handful that keeps me giving up my $5 a month to play it. Sure it is not without it’s issues but updates will fix them and it’s small things here and there. Honestly, forming the cards to build things and solve the puzzles is really gratifying. And I like that it’s challenging enough but not ridiculously so. It’s a mobile game, I play games on my phone to unwind and relax and this game is so perfect for that. Thank you for making it, I think it’s a masterpiece and I look forward to future updates!.Version: 1.3

Unique and fun puzzle gameNice art style adds value to the unique puzzle mechanism with nice progression. I’m really enjoying puzzling out each level. A major frustration with the controls detracts, when interacting with the cards when protagonist is on a platform, I regularly trigger them to climb down by by mistake forcing me to redo puzzle. Once they start moving you can’t stop them even if they haven’t started climbing down. The game basically confuses the beginning of a pinch for a tap. For me, the atmospheric “story” scenes are not sufficiently interesting to warrant the long/slow time they take up, and I’m too uncertain about what’s being implied by the eyes and the speech noises to get hooked..Version: 1.4.1

Icloud issues but great gameUpdated *** All fixed woo! Original- Great game but has iCloud issues. Near perfect game but had to take off one star for icloud not working. I been playing on iPhone and now trying to play on ipad pro but it won’t sync no matter what I tried. Happy to update when fixed..Version: 1.3

Great game but....This game is amazing and the story is beautiful. The only thing that bothers me is that this game has bugs. When I enter the game it just kicks me out a random time I’m doing one of the puzzles, which annoys me because I have to start all over again! Please fix the bugs, so we won’t get interrupted while playing! Thanks and great job developers 😃 Audrey :).Version: 1.4.1

Great puzzles, some story/control problemsThe puzzles are amazing! I only resorted to using the hints a few times, and always regretted it (“I should have been able to figure that out! 😄”). Check out the other Apple Arcade game, Creaks, if you like this, and vice versa. The biggest fault would be the controls. Too many times, I tapped somewhere that I didn’t want to, and there was no way to cancel the move. Reproducing the position that was just left could be arduous. A “cancel” or “undo last move” option would be greatly appreciated. Also, it would be very helpful to be able to move the camera around. Sometimes it’s quite hard to judge how things are lining up. Like some other reviewers, I wasn’t a fan of the cut scenes. They didn’t add much to the experience, and are painfully slow. I might just be missing something..Version: 1.4.1

Very good game, annoying cutscenesWish I could skip them, or just not have them at all as I don’t understand what’s happening..Version: 1.0

Great gameI am stuck on a bit where the hit is not helping me. I think I am on level 4-6! Is there any way you can help!.Version: 1.2

Great puzzler, annoying cut scenesLoved the puzzles, but found the cut scenes annoying - unskippable, irrelevant and made no sense!.Version: 1.4.1

Growing on meAt first the graphics caught me, looks great, but the controls just didn’t respond well, very sluggish and the character jitters if you multi tap. Then there was some weird post level cutscene that made no sense and at that point I didn’t think I liked it. But ... the puzzles are good, the story, if you can call it a story, is very much open to interpretation and it does just look great in general. Apart from a couple of crashes when opening, it has played well and is certainly growing on me now, I’m glad I stuck with it. Hope they can iron out a few of the bugs, and, I do want to say thank you for fully supporting the iPad Pro screen resolution and making your game look amazing..Version: 1.0

AmazingBrilliant game. Very beautiful with a very unique game dynamic. Kudos 👌👍.Version: 1.2

Great on mobile, not so great on Apple TVThis is one of the games I’ve played the most on AA so far. I noticed it was available on Apple TV, but was disappointed that you have to use the remote to play. Awful experience. Add support for controllers, and I’d give it 5 stars!.Version: 1.0

Lean into it. You won’t be sorry. It took me time to see how the functionality of the game wouldn’t get repetitive, but after a few levels and taking in the beautiful design, I grew more and more impressed and entertained..Version: 1.4.1

Forced cut scenes almost ruin an otherwise superb game.Great graphics art. Very unique creatively designed puzzles. This is easily a 5 star game at its core. Despite my criticism it is one of my very favourites. But it can also be one of the most frustrating due to its somewhat problematic user interface. Ever since I’ve picked up this game I have a hard time putting it down in the middle of a puzzle. Then come the cut scenes after every single puzzle. I often lose patience with them and exit the game entirely. Some people love the cutscenes. Forcing people like me who only care about the game play, to sit through the entire cut scene each and every time is a major buzzkill. Please add a “skip” button the the cutscenes. One more user interface problem. Controls need to be improved. In concept tap to move character and pinch to build/collapse card houses seems simple. In practice attempts at pinching are often mistaken as taps. This can cause your character to climb down places they can not climb back up without restarting the puzzle layout. Very frustrating. The UI issues blemish what is otherwise one of the otherwise most perfect and uniquely creative puzzles on the App Store. They drop my rating to a 4..Version: 1.4

Very beautiful game, but...The puzzles are really fun to play and the game has a great vibe overall. That’s why I think it’s a very beautiful game, but please put a skip button for the transitions..Version: 1.4.1

Solid idea! The game is great! Puzzles are cool and art is beautiful! I don’t know if maybe I’m not far enough yet but, I’m a little confused about the story? It doesn’t seem to be going anywhere...I’ll come back and update this when I finish, but, right now, quite a few puzzles in, nothing seems to be happening with the plot here...is there one?.Version: 1.4

Enjoyable PuzzlerLove the actual puzzles. Not too easy and not too hard. With a few here and there that actually stumped me for a bit. Great artwork. Personally I could do without the storyline cutscenes. It really slows down the actual gameplay. Game mechanics could use some fine tuning. It would be nice to be able to zoom in or out. It’s really frustrating not being able to see the entire playing field on some levels without moving the screen around. The game seems almost too eager to react when I’m adjusting the size of cards. I barley move my fingers and it rapidly expands or shrinks between sizes. Or I touch part of the screen intending to move my view to that area, but the game interprets my touch as me wanting to move my character, which in some frustrating instances can cause me to have to redo many moves..Version: 1.4

Nice game, beautifully detailed dioramasI'm glad that a game like this can exist and tell this kind of story. I like the sense of remove. But it's way too aggressive with trying to push hints on me. Wish I could disable that tooltip suggestion..Version: 1.4

Not a GamerWCF is one of the first games in years that has caught my attention and desire to keep playing..Version: 1.0

Almost Perfect!Incredible puzzle game with great game art and mind bending puzzles but storyline can be difficult to follow and game progress does not sync between multiple devices with my iPhone and iPad Pro even though they are on the same Apple ID..Version: 1.1.1

Great mechanism, curious story. The mechanism and gameplay is really well thought out and fresh. I must admit by the last 5-10 levels I was really struggling, but the hint system doesn’t penalise you for using it, which was a nice touch. If I had limited use of it I probably wouldn’t have seen it through. The overall feel of the game is very distant and dreamy, I really enjoyed it. The levels were really good, as many other reviewers have mentioned though, the story is just a bit hard to follow. The flow of the game is very slow, the characters movement to the pace of the story which interjects after every level, which is fine once you tune into it but I did find it a bit frustrating when starting. I think I understood the main beats of the story, but the eyes in the walls were just a bit abstract for a game with SO much story and zero dialogue. Also one minor gameplay niggle, I more than once tapped somewhere accidentally while trying to move the cards, and the character would move thinking I meant for him to go there, there’s no way to cancel and tapping elsewhere sometimes worked, so he would climb down and undo loads of work getting him there in the first place. Anyway, overall it was a pleasant and challenging experience I would definitely recommend, once you tune into the vibe and pace of it..Version: 1.4

FantasticBy far one of the best games I have ever played on my phone. Not the usual ‘match 3’ game or ‘repair the house’ debacle. I’ve been looking for something different for a good while now and I am absolutely thrilled to have found this. I would highly recommend this game to anyone considering downloading it..Version: 1.4.1

Great puzzlesSo the game is great. I enjoy a good puzzle. But can you provide an option to skip the storyline? It takes way to long and they don’t actually have dialog that helps the story in any way or relate to the puzzle..Version: 1.4

Wow!Nice design, simple but challenging at times.Version: 1.0

1984? Illuminati? A Certain Communist Country Always Watching?Visuals are impeccable, music and different mazes/puzzles are fantastic. Simplistic, beautiful, has me curious about all the eyes 👀. My only suggestion is to speed up the cut scenes the tiniest bit, a little too slow motion to enjoy..Version: 1.4.1

Nice conceptVery fiddly on the smaller iPhone 8.Version: 1.0

Updated reviewOk my last review was a little harsher than intended and apologies for that! I gave the the game another try and enjoyed it. it’s a great relaxing puzzle game with a unique mechanic. The visuals are gorgeous and the game is definitely worth checking out!.Version: 1.4

It is a very nice game but…It is a very nice game but it loses its current level lots of the time and it is annoying!! I’m in the page third right now and already passed 6 level there and after some time it still starts me at lage 3rd level1! Please fix this bug.Version: 1.4.1

Sound optionsI enjoy the serene nature of this game and its unique mechanics, the ONE gripe I had with it is that it forces other audio apps (music/podcasts) to mute. I rarely write reviews and this a thing that actually prompted me to comment in it as I really really do not like it.Version: 1.4.1

Interesting Gameplay and Gorgeous GraphicsA great puzzle game well worth playing. My only problem is it doesn’t always save from the last level finished. Several times I’ve had to replay several levels to continue. An annoying bug. Using an iPad mini 5th gen if that helps..Version: 1.4.1

Cut scenes and hintsI like the cut scenes, I don’t understand them, but they are a cute addition to the game. When I press the light bulb for a hint I am kicked out of the game. Please fix this glitch, other than that I would give this game 5 stars. Me and my son have enjoyed trying to figure out the card placement..Version: 1.4.1

If you like The Last Campfire…I haven’t finished playing the game yet however, I had to stop and write a review because I loved playing the last campfire and this absolutely reminds me of that game. so if you enjoyed it, I would recommend this one as well. I would agree there are a lot of cut scenes, but they don’t last long or at least from what I’ve played so far and imo they add to the experience..Version: 1.4.1

AwesomePlease (!!) make a follow up to this. I absolutely LOVE this game….so much that I’ve ended up playing a bit before bed, except it turns into hours and the sun is coming up. 😂 i love doing puzzles and some abstract thinking - this is even great to replay & set my own goals (ie: time trial, not use hints, finish in least amount of moves…) Keep it coming!.Version: 1.4.1

I love the storySome people said that the stories between each games too boring and meaningless, but these made me really relate to the protagonist, how she grew up, studied architecture, and develop her career. I found the storyline very touching and relatable. When Boygenius’ Souvenir swells up along the credits I nearly cried. Absolutely beautiful game..Version: 1.4.1

I really like this gameIt’s calming and interesting. And really fun and beautiful. I wish it worked on the Apple TV. The remote doesn’t really respond at all. But playing in the phone is nice. :).Version: 1.4.1

Exceeded my expectationsI’ve waited for this game ever since it was announced. It looks and plays even better than what I thought it would. Can’t wait to dive deeper into the story. 🥺.Version: 1.0

Great game, great supportFantastic art direction, a surprisingly captive silent narrative and engaging puzzles are a winning combination. And when na update purged our save data, the devs were responsive and quick to find a fix. (UPDATED REVIEW).Version: 1.2

Beautiful and addictiveSmooth on iPad. Only issue is occasionally I’d accidentally send the character walking somewhere and need to redo a whole bunch of steps; it would benefit from an undo or rewind. Unplayable on Apple TV, which is mostly the fault of the unusable Apple TV remote. I bet it could work quite well with controller support..Version: 1.4.1

Worth itPlay this when you’re feeling depressed and instantly feel happier. Rain sounds are so calming and love the graphics.Version: 1.4.1

The game is good, but my progress has been resetThe latest update has cleared dozens of levels of progress. I don’t intend playing those again, so unless a future update will restore my progress I think I’m done..Version: 1.1.2

Please update for controllersGreat game. I’d love to play on my 2021 ATV but this game requires the old Siri remote and doesn’t yet support controllers..Version: 1.4.1

Lost progressSomething wrong with the iCloud syncing. Lost my progress and had to start again, was halfway through the 3rd set of cards. Cut scenes are a little dry and not skippable. The character moves very slowly so you tend to wait before making the next move. Love the atmospheric sounds and gameplay in general. Great work!.Version: 1.1.2

Great game fun puzzle gameI wish the “cutscenes” would move a little faster but overall this is a fun and innovative puzzle game. To the reviewer who said instant delete because there was no controller support uhhh this is a game which requires pinch and other gesture controls, so why would it support a controller? What planet are these people living on???.Version: 1.0

Top gameInventive gameplay and controls perfectly suited to iOS. The world, with its dreamlike logic and enigmatic cutscenes, is fantastic - lovely graphics and sound. One of those experiences you’re sorry to leave..Version: 1.4

Really goodI want to say something to the developers of this game, which is I really do appreciate this game, so much, I think this is so well build and unique, we have to rethink what is it means for gaming instead of only turning on the game and just start to kill and about all that bloody stuff..Version: 1.4.1

Surprisingly goodI really did not expect this game to be that good but it has me hooked with its clean graphics and addictive gameplay I have to say I’m very impressed.Version: 1.1.2

Nice little gameGreat game to keep you thinking. As with all snowman games great to play for a few minutes or a few hours. It also has peaceful little cut scenes to enjoy that make you smile..Version: 1.4.1

Interesting, challenging concept; weird, unintelligible storylineThe gameplay itself is interesting and challenging. It can take several tries and many minutes to solve a puzzle, especially once newer mechanics get introduced like wind and clouds. The graphics and overall polish are great. Controls can be a little wonky at times. It is sometimes quite hard to discern if your stack is the right height to line up with a platform since either it can’t or I can’t figure out if I can change the viewing angle. The pacing of the game is quite slow though as after most puzzles you have to go through a story point. The memories you watch all kind of make sense (I think... is the character reliving tough memories growing up?), but the dialogue is unintelligible so really I’m just guessing. It’s easily my least favourite part of the game because I can’t relate to it or get attached to it, and it creates really long breaks in the good parts of the game; figuring out the puzzles..Version: 1.0

Great puzzles but confusing cutscenesI think the game puzzles are interesting and enjoyable, and I’ve been having fun working through them. I don’t mind the cut scenes, but I find them very confusing. I don’t know what they are showing me. Are they building to some ultimate story? If so, you’ve lost me. I don’t think you need to remove them, but a skip would be good for some. And making them a little more understandable for those of us that enjoy a little story with our puzzles would be good for the rest of us. Thanks for a fun game!.Version: 1.4.1

Well worth a downloadThis beautiful puzzle adventure is a good time. With easy to use controls and a peaceful soundtrack this makes for a calming experience that you can play anywhere Highly recommended for old fans and newcomers to the genre alike.Version: 1.0

Love this game!Amazing development of strategic thinking! Actually makes your brain cells move LOL ! Only feedback is the in between dialogue. Too lengthy and can’t understand what is happen or being said. There should be option to skip even though it’s building on a story. Otherwise great great great!!!.Version: 1.4.1

I didn’t think a mobile game could be achieve this level of fun. It’s a simple platformer(in a sense), it’s very aesthetically pleasing and movements are intuitive. I’m not sure if the cutscenes involve loading new levels, I’ll admit they are irritating. If you’re unwilling to let them be skippable, please at least make them automatic if possible. Overall A+. devs deserve a cookie..Version: 1.4

Really enjoyable gameI don’t play games very often nowadays, but this has been the most up enjoyable game that I’ve played in quite a while. Interesting puzzles, lovely graphics. Very enjoyable..Version: 1.1.1

Not a perfect game, but it is exquisitely realizedThe game mechanic here is original and quite satisfying to interact with. I can't imagine how this works on a PC as the touch interface seems ideally suited for how it's presented. At first I thought the game was going to be rather short, but then the scenes kept coming and new intricacies are introduced at a reasonably modest pace. I wish I could say I was getting a lot out of the story, the made-up "gibberish" language seems rather pointless and I have no idea what the disembodied eyes are supposed to represent. The save issue as described by others is present...i.e. if the app closes down due to memory management it's possible your progress can be reset to an earlier level. I discovered that if I immediately close and relaunch the app it returns me to the latest level I'm playing. Amazing that the sophisticated gameplay and graphic design can be so well-executed, but these simple housekeeping tasks present challenges. All in all, the game has me hooked and I would be interested to see a sequel..Version: 1.4.1
