Simple: Weight Loss Coach for Positive User Reviews

I wish I’d found this app sooner!I love this app. It really is so simple. I’ve been following the intermittent fasting plan for 9 weeks and lost a total of 20lbs by simply eating my calories for the day in a shorter window than I would usually. I started with a 12 hour eating window and as the weeks have gone on I have gradually reduced this to a 6 hour eating window. The insights and helpful hints on this app are fantastic. Everyday I get a new piece of advice, lots of scientific ones too, to read through to help motivate me to push through periods of hunger. But I have to say once I got past the first week, the hunger wasn’t a problem. The app will update you with your current body status, like when you’re in the ketosis stage or autophagy. When you see the health benefits of those stages the hunger soon eases. There’s no calorie counting or weighing ingredients or foods you can’t eat. It’s the best diet I’ve ever done. Although I don’t really see it as a diet anymore. It’s genuinely changed my eating habits and I really do think this will be a lifetime habit now. Best app I’ve ever purchased, I’ve never felt so good about myself. Thank you Simple!!.Version: 6.4.11

It works!I've tried every diet and eating plan out there. Nothing lasted. I do a 17 hour fast. I feel so much more energetic. My stomach issues have disappeared. I have rheumatoid arthritis and after a month on this plan I don't have hardly any flare ups, in fact I've been able to stoop my medication for it. The weight loss is slow but steady so i know it will be a permanent solution for me because it's very easy to follow. I could cut out my wine consumption and I'm sure it would go faster but ehhh i like wine so I'm happy with the pace I'm at. The app has been awesome because it reminds me to drink water and log my meal times which keeps me mindful of my goal and keeps me accountable. I eat what i want but am finding that by keeping up on the app and reading all the little daily educational notes the app gives i am slowly changing the foods i choose for the most part. To anyone reading this, i can tell you it's worth a try. It was my last resort and i cant say enough how thankful i am that i gave it a try. Sure you could do it without the app but i think it would be way more difficult trying to remember it all and you wouldn't have the benefit of all the educational stuff..Version: 7.4.44

Feedback regarding the Simple ProgramI very very happy with the Simple Program I reached my goal weight in 5 months and continue to maintain this weight. Slow progress but very proud of my achievements. I have no trouble fasting for 16 to 18 hours each day. I am eating much healthier and enjoying my new foods. I’ve become more mindful with what I eat and if my goes up a tiny bit I am aware of the fact I may have eaten the wrong food. I’m eating More salads, vegetables, fish in my menu plan. I have used some of the recipes you supply. Love the baked salmon and turkey patties. But still enjoy some desserts that wouldn’t be recommended. I love red meats but have learned that it definitely slows my metabolism, so not eating as much. Don’t eat as much bread as I used to, now having multigrain with seeds etc. when I do. The Simple app is easy to use and I keep it up so I stick to my new menu plan. I also enjoy the daily advice and additional information that you can read at your leisure. Finally I do recommend the Simple Intermittent Fasting program to friends. 100% happy with the new menu. Thank you Julie Green.Version: 7.7.2

Simple an effectiveIntermittent fasting made easy with simple, what do you know that’s the name of the app SIMPLE… This app helped me track my fasting and eating windows - am doing Flexible 16.8 IF this works for me as it helps me hit those times my body is done burning carbs and burning fats. The notification to drink water, eat and break fast will be annoying in the start but you’ll lear to appreciate them in time… I wish they’ll create a one time lifetime subscription program (maybe it’ll be just for me by who knows)… Good job to the dev team..Version: 7.5.11

Self control is rebuilding ⭐️Someone may benefit from this story, but I know they can be annoying so skip to the end if you’d rather - A little over two years ago I had finally started to lose some weight and went from weighing 150 to 130 in a couple months, gradually dropping pounds. I felt great mentally and physically, and thought I was doing a good thing; only to have my significant other break things off with me because according to them I had developed a destructive eating disorder, and they “didn’t want to watch me destroy myself”. It crushed what I had achieved, and in a naive attempt to win them back I started eating 3x what I was in a day. I quickly not only gain roughly three times more than what I weighed, I also developed an actual eating disorder that wrecked my body and my life. Because of this person I lost all of what I worked hard for and the last two years have been an uphill battle to control my calorie intake. This app is helping me rebuild the self control I lost and gives me the opportunity to deduct whether I’m eating because I’m hungry or because my emotions are out of control. Full five stars from me, no complaints yet. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 5.0.3

A great helpI discovered Simple a couple of years ago when I first looked into Intermittent fasting. This app is exactly as the name says Simple (to use), it helped me track my hydration and let me know what my body was going through during the various stages of fasting. I lost about 2 stone first time round. So a month or so ago when I found I couldn’t fit in my favourite jeans, I didn’t hesitate to go back on the app and start another fasting journey. I’m happy to say I’m back in my jeans and feel great! Thanks Simple ! I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about IF.Version: 7.6.0

Almost perfect...Still a teeny bit confusing, but I guess that’s the same with everything when you’re getting used to it? The only thing that would make this app perfect (I haven’t updated it, so you may have added it in the update, who knows) is I would love to see the ability to put a note with your weight/weight photo progress tracker, as there a lot of things which affect your weight; weight gain is a side effect of medication, the menstrual cycle can make you gain a few lb.... I’d put on weight this morning, and I wasn’t 100% sure what it was, so it would have been nice to make a note that my period is day or so overdue just in case that is the issue... I think it helps give an overall bigger picture, at least for females, as they would be able to identify how much weight they put on during their period etc, and also other things..Version: 7.4.30

Great App!I have used simple for a few weeks now, i did delete it once however as i thought that it’d just be better to fast at my own pace, but i realised that simple is a great way to track your eating, your weight, how healthy you are, steps and water you’ve drank. it is such a great app, and not just that alone! it tells you what points of your fasting you’re up to, ketosis etc: i recommend this app to anyone who is wanting to lose weight! aloe of my friends tell me that not eating is bad for you, but this app allows you to eat, not like an eating disorder or anything like that..Version: 6.3.0

Just what I neededI’ve been struggling with my weight for years. Recently I began to notice increased blood sugar and A1C numbers at the doctor’s office. I am a 68 yo female with rheumatoid arthritis who takes lots of meds that help keep my weight on and sugars high. I saw this app and thought “ I’ve tried everything else let me try this”. I’m glad I did. The beauty of IF is each person decides where to place their eating hours and their fasting hours and how many hours of each. I decided to start wit 16:8. While I’m usually not hungry first thing in the morning I begin my fast about 5 pm. And then the “kitchen is closed” until I’m ready to eat the next morning. I used to snack continuously in the evening but due to fasting I no longer do that. Sometimes I am able to push my fast longer to 18 hours. It’s been a little over a month and I’ve lost 7 lbs. Also the artificial intelligence “AVO” is like having a human coach who pushes you to eat better and get some movement in your life. The app constantly sends articles that corresponds with your logged meals that give you dietary info to help you eat more healthy. I’m glad I invested in the app..Version: 7.7.3

Beware as always of trial periodsI wanted to try the app to see whether it was for me but had to give far too much information in the ‘free trial’ period and so gave up. I wanted to ensure that I wouldn’t be charged the subscription after the trial and followed instructions they provided for cancelling. It didn’t show in my Apple subscriptions so I assumed I had given up on the process before it was all done, but a week later I was charged for a three month subscription, which they won’t refund. I will obviously try the app now, but the whole process has left me bitter. So, just beware!.Version: 7.5.0

Works for meSince I've learned all the health benefits that intermittent fasting brings with it, I am more determined than ever to make it a simple part of my lifestyle. The tips Simple give are truly inspiring - and I love their shape and form. The ideas seem to stick with me, and pop up in my mind clearly and appropriately. I also love the notifications; it feels like you're not alone, but have a knowledgeable and encouraging team with you at all times. I'm only five days in, and I'm down 2.5 kilos - not bad, eh? For years, I was addicted to soda (zero calories), but have smoothly transitioned to natural sparkling mineral water. I'm beginning to notice what's heathy and what's less so. This is fast (no pun intended ;) becoming a way of life, and I feel that it will fast come naturally to me. Yippee.Version: 6.4.9

Oh so SimpleI started IF with Simple 6 months ago and have lost 28 lbs in that time. This is great but the best outcome is the positive effect on my pre- existing gut problems and the establishment of a mealtime routine which really works for me. I look and feel better than I have for years, I am in control of what and when I eat but have the flexibility to eat with friends. I feel this is not a diet but a change in lifestyle. Simple is just that, it prompts and informs, no diet plan just informative guidance and support. The time clock is great, easily accessible and clear. In all a very positive experience and an on- going lifestyle change. Thanks Simple.Version: 7.5.13

Educational, easy to stick to and no guiltThe app is great and focuses on encouraging healthy eating with cool educational articles. I achieved my weight loss goal in around 5 weeks and have kept up the fasting (13:11) as I’ve found that I like it! At first I felt a bit panicked that I couldn’t eat during a certain period but the initial few weeks flew and it really is exactly what it says: simple. No guilt, all agency and responsibility on you. Loving it..Version: 7.6.22

Compliment SandwichWhen I looked into this app & decided to join it was because it said there was no good or bad food just intermittent fasting - I thought awesome, I can definitely work with this. I really love that diet soft drinks count towards your fluid intake. Since paying for the app I’m being told constantly “not a good choice” “could be better” if I eat an ice cream it’s because it’s over 40 Celsius (104F) outside - I KNOW an ice cream isn’t necessarily the healthiest food but it’s what I felt like eating. If I have a big bowl of veggies for tucker I’m marked down because of no protein even if I had a steak for lunch. If I have steak & veggies for tucker I’m told not enough dairy. Maybe it’s because I’m old & grew up with the food health pyramid where it took into account what you ate in a whole day. I think that the app could be amazing with a few tweaks - I had oven baked potato wedges & salsa the other night both home made, the salsa was literally tomatoes, chilli’s, onions & capsicum - my food rating told me “too much sodium” & not enough fibre - I mean seriously, I never put salt on my food & I the only food I make that I can think of that I add salt to is whole grain bread & that’s only a pinch. I love the count down that shows up on my Lock Screen..Version: 7.7.4

Fabulous appLiterally the easiest diet I have ever been on. Have been on it for a little over a month now and lost nearly 10% of my body weight to be in a healthy BMI range. The app interface is really simple and elegant! The tracking capabilities are exactly what you need so the diet isn’t too time consuming. I’ve always failed other diets and tracking apps that required me to weigh my food. This app is perfect and I’ve learnt a lot from the small little modules on food, mindful eating, intermittent fasting and exercise. I hope I’m able to stick to this long term but the signs are great!.Version: 7.4.34

AwesomeReally enjoying this app. It’s keeping me on track and is simple to use..Version: 7.8.4

Great app and programLoving the Simple program and the app is encouraging healthier eating without nagging which is great. Would be good if users could input and save some standard meals to choose from to make logging your food intake easier. After all, we all tend to have favourite meals that we fall back on when looking for a quick easy lunch or dinner. It does get a bit tiresome having to log all the ingredients for the same meal time and time again. Other than that, total thumbs up from me..Version: 7.7.0

Life ChangingI’d heard about different ways that fasting is good for you and tried doing it 2 days a week but always binged on the non fasting days so it seemed pointless. When I got this app I realised I could eat every day but just in a smaller window. I thought it was worth a try. By giving up breakfast I could manage a 16 hour fast and the app really helped me do that and stick to it by showing how long I had to go and making me feel good for achieving it. I felt so much better, my guts seemed to settle down and when I did eat I REALLY enjoyed it. This became a habit and my weight kept dropping without feeling deprived. I can now have one meal a day a few days a week. The app helped me start these life long habits so thank you I’m still working towards my ideal weight and feeling great..Version: 7.4.12

Very Nice App! Needs a few (small) refinementsThis is fastically friendly well designed intermittent fasting tracker app. Most of the apps in the category are simple timers, useful but who cant read a clock? Simple takes intermittent fasting to the next level with food intake, water intake, exercise and activity monitoring. It also comes with a handy AI chatbot feature thats on demand. After purchasing the app I realized I still had other subscriptions and didnt need this one, but I’ll be back if/when I ever need this type of app again. They also have excellent customer service. A few small things needing improvement: when I reboot my iphone it prompts me to login all over again, this is small annoyance but I wish the app would just open. Also some of the AI notifications take up the entire viewport area and that X in the upper right hand corner cant be reached on an iphone12, its the dead zone with the iphone wifi and battery percentage icons. Either way, instead of tapping an X icon make the tap to close easier. Honestly no real complaints about this app. I gave it a 5 star rating because the helpful reminders to log food, water, and to start fasting are important. Almost like living with a fasting coach. Well done..Version: 7.6.38

Great app to help you start in fasting4 weeks in to my new fast, which was kicked off with help of the app. Instead of trying to count my calories, I measured how often and more importantly how I felt and why I ate. I found this was much better to help me understand why I was eating which also helped me to stop eating when I was bored. Now that I’m also on Keto, I’m using another app to ensure I’m staying in Ketosis, however with the diary in here, I would love the developers to add the ability to manually add Ketone Level measurements, as it tracks my activity and eating so it would help to track this too (especially since there are very few apps doing it).Version: 6.5.8

Love the app, could have custom drinks option thoughI’ve started using the app 3 days ago and love it for tracking fasting times, water & food intake, exercise, possibility to log meals & photos to a journal, etc. My only comment for improvement though - there is no option to add cacao drink under the drinks section. I make this hot drink from raw organic cacao powder and add a bit stevia for sweetness, sometimes even a small piece of dark chocolate (min 85%) but not always. I didn’t find an option to log this as a drink, so put it as a ‘snack’, although it doesn’t seem right... I don’t think it qualifies as coffee or tea, or does it? Even under smoothies there is only an option to log fruit and/or veggie smoothies, so cacao doesn’t belong there either. Or should it be considered a protein shake?.. except that, seems like a great app!.Version: 6.4.6

To measure is to changeI’ve always ate well and kept active but as I get older (62) I’ve noticed the weight creeping up. I saw an ad for Simple and the idea of fasting right as I got on the scales and saw 102 kg!!! I decided to act. The process is simple (pun intended). Have a regular healthy meal and then don’t eat after 7pm ( nothing; not that extra glass of wine or that small little snack). Then get up in the morning and slowly drink a litre of water and have a coffee. Walk to work (30 min) buy some raw nuts and carrot and apple and eat healthy to break the fast (11am) You really stop and enjoy every mouthful. Have a Greek yoghurt and apple for afternoon tea and then home for dinner. Go for walk with wife. Easy. Not missing anything except lost 5 Kg in 4 weeks and clothes fit better. Aiming for 80Kg. Logging everything is easy and keeps you honest. Simple…...Version: 7.7.6

Love but would like to see a few changes…I’ve only been using the SIMPLE app for a couple weeks and so far love it. I’ve lost 6lbs doing the 16hr fast. Yay! My sister is using the app and does a 20hr fast and has lost 12lbs in two weeks. Love the way you can track your eating, your time of fasting and also that it tells you how long you’ve been burning fat. And the articles are filled with great information. But three features I wish SIMPLE would have… 1. A search button to search articles. 2. A connect button to connect with family and friends. There’s no connecting. 3. More security put in place. You shouldn’t be able to login a paid subscription with just an email address. For me, protecting my personal information is important. This lack of security may cause me to end my subscription eventually. On a good note, I already feel better about myself because I feel more in control and feel like I’ve found something that works. I also find the articles very helpful. This is about getting healthy and I think as long as I follow the recommendations, I’ll do fine..Version: 7.4.14

Best App Ever Made for HealthI've been using this app for 12 days now and it has just CHANGED my LIFE. I've already lost almost 6 pounds even though I had a rocky start and didn't fast for about 3 days. What I love about Simple is that you track what you eat without obsessiveness or calorie tracking, it's more about how it makes you feel and why you ate it and the basic food groups and health of the food. The amount doesn't even matter. Also, it's super easy to stay on track even if you mess up, as long as you keep logging your meals you feel successful. Logging hunger also helps me stay mindful during my fasting period. I've recommended this app to my entire family and all of my friends. I can't wait to use it for the rest of the summer. Though I do feel a little hungry sometimes, I know it will get better and I am staying super motivated. This app definitely works! I've found that I don't really need the premium, but I might get it later when I have money because I just want to support the developers! I love Simple so much.Version: 6.4.4

Could be betterSo I really like this app and i think it has helped me really think about my decisions but there's some complaints I have. First, I don't like when I log my food the app not only assumes that everything I eat is a meal it also assumes whether or not im eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner based on the time of day. I really don't like that because I think I should be able to eat breakfast at 11am and dinner at 4pm without the app just assuming that it's a "late breakfast" or an "early dinner". I think there should be a feature where I can state whether or not what I ate is a meal or a snack and if I ate breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Second, I think the app should ask us how we feel after eating what we ate and if we liked the food. I know we can just write it down but it's not the same as when it asks you how you feel after working out and it has the little emojis. Third, there should be more milk options. Today I drank chocolate milk and I had to put it as hot chocolate because there wasn't a chocolate milk option. These are all of my complaints and I really hope you could at least take them into consideration..Version: 7.6.2

User friendlyBefore simple I struggled to eat consistently during the day then found myself starving at 10pm, then waking up with acid reflux or indigestion. It took me a couple of weeks to get in the swing of things but I just kept logging and not beating myself up. I didn’t even weigh myself for the whole first month till I got the hang of the schedule. I love it now. I never feel bad about eating what I want and notice I feel my best when I’m mixing up the foods I eat. Some days I have optimal healthy days some days good, some days fair. But it’s a healthy balance for mind and body. This app has helped me focus on the process and routine instead of results and it is SO user friendly. Now I’m about 2 months in. I have started weighing myself in the last month, when the app prompts me on my to do list and I am down 8lbs! It has helped me habit build and I am consistently walking the neighborhood each day and love it! I’ve just added some easy strength training this week. I love the daily articles and insights. I don’t read every day but they’re always helpful when I do. If you are looking for user friendly, habit building, “slow and steady wins the race” then this is your app!.Version: 7.7.6

A Daily Journey of a new experience with IFI’m happy I decided to start my journey of IF with Simple, just a few weeks ago. I find the daily discipline of logging in my food and water, checking my energy levels, noting my weight- plus and minus. Also the Simple FB group has been useful. The Simple app sometimes frustrates me- just if I get behind on adding my meals or editing the actual fast times- but with a little more time/attention, I work it out. I do enjoy the extra information Avo offers. It’s always interesting and not too much that I feel overwhelmed with all the new info. This isn’t a sprint for me, it’s a gradual journey where I am re-establishing healthy habits and a better relationship with my body and my health. I do have weight to lose but I rather enjoy the clarity of mind, the contentment with eating only when I’m hungry and I’ve noticed that as I keep my accountability with myself, learn more- I am making better food choices anyway because I feel so much better. It makes perfect sense and Simple is exactly right- Simple, it is. I look forward to continuing with more understanding and kindness to myself. Not pressuring myself into perfection, just being happy to make healthy choices, step by step..Version: 7.8.3

Loving it so farOnly used this for a couple of days, but this is what I love so far: - not having to log calories or food details other than type of meal, food group etc it’s basic enough to not be put off (I hate logging food!) and detailed enough to make you think about your food choices - it tells you when to have your next meal which is useful if you’ve no idea how intermittent fasting works and draws attention to when you feel like eating (mindlessly) as opposed to when you need to eat (hungry) The only thing I’d add is that it treats snacks as bad, high salt & sugar etc but I haven’t seen it differentiate if your snack is a piece of fruit / veg. Also, as a T1 diabetic I sometimes need to have a snack to correct a low blood sugar - would be amazing to see that as an option on the app for when your logging a food that you wouldn’t otherwise be eating, especially as it has a T1 diabetes button when you register. Makes you feel less like you’re failing!.Version: 7.3

SimpleI was slightly overweight at 5’5”, 151 pounds and do a strenuous uphill 2 mile walk most every day, but having a hard time losing weight (I really love good food! & my husband is a great cook!). Friends of mine tried intermittent fasting and it really works for them so I wanted to try it. I started using the Simple app about 6 weeks ago and it is working for me- it’s not a “quick fix” - but I have lost about a pound/week, I don’t feel deprived at all, my mind feels clear and my waistline/muffin too seems to be shrinking. I like the reminders on the app to drink lots of water and document what/when you’re eating. There is good nutritional advice offered. I can have my early morning coffee (with just a splash of milk) and I go to work. I eat breakfast at around 10:30-11:00 or lunch at around 1:00 depending on how busy work is. Then dinner at around 6:00pm. We cook most of our meals at home and eat lots of salads with a protein (fish or chicken or steak) but we eat what we want. So my fasting window is usually around 16-17 hours. Other people may be able to eat one meal/day. That would not work for me. Simple has made my journey into intermittent fasting feel “Do-able” and comfortable. 😊.Version: 7.6.18

JeûneJ’ai trouvé un peu difficile de trouver comment inscrire mes heures de jeûne, je n’entre pas mes repas aussitôt pris..Version: 7.8.3

Useful and intermittent fasting works!Despite being very US focused this app has kept me on on track and provided helpful nutritional information. People with special dietary needs are catered for to some degree but inevitably not every nuance is covered. I use it every day multiple times a day and it nudges me if I forget to record when I have eaten meals. So far I have lost 14lbs and am very happy with the steady drop in weight. I really like being able to eat normally in my eating slot and also enjoy a glass of wine or slice of cake from time to time. It’s not a crash diet but for me is very sustainable..Version: 7.4.22

Relax into FastingThis App delivers a simple and easy way into health. I find it easy to log my fluid intake and when I eat I think hard about it. Fasting overnight with a few hours added on late evening and morning allow me to do the 16/8 method comfortably. You can choose a couple of days off. I don't use set days to not fast, I am relaxed enough to recognise a rest day which feels good at that moment. Oh and I seem to be losing a little weight! I have never before been in my comfort zone when I have tried to do eat well and relax..Version: 7.4.4

After an inauspicious startAfter an inauspicious start, mostly the poor reviews about different screens for different users and phone types, trouble with customer service and getting refunds, being double charged and a few other issues… I have had a remarkably good 33 day experience. I did buy a 3 month subscription at a not unreasonable price, though I canceled so as not to be recharged at the end of my 3 months, July 7 for those who asked. After reviewing the help section and “how to” tips I dove right in. The result was 10 pounds down in that time, better sleep, lost all need to snack, drink water like it’s my job, became more cognizant of what type of food I eat, the list goes on. Of course the app is helpful in reminding me of tasks, offering food suggestions, advising me to switch up eating windows to fit my life rather than never deviating from the strict 16/8. Sometimes I reach 16 other times 17, 18, 20 and my best a 22 hour fast. I never had the calorie counting option some users had and enjoy not being a slave to those numbers. All that being said and being very skeptical about bad (and good) reviews, I will wait and see what transpires at the end of my 3 months. I hope that customer service will improve for those who are dissatisfied and the makers of the app will listen to what the customers want/need in the app. Otherwise the app helps me to do what it says it can and I am happy but watchful..Version: 7.5.7

Superb for getting and keeping on trackThis app is superb, i love all the info and insights, the great layout, the plans inside you can use, the level of detail and the realtime tracking of sugar levels, where your body is at during the fast. For 5 stars id like to see the creators add apple watch compatibility and the able to select multiple reasons for why a meal is being logged. Ill update this as i think of anything else i think could be added. This app would be superb if it had deeper integration with the native iOS health and activies app. I hope to see this soon. Overall a superb app and helping me keep on track..Version: 5.3.6

I’m so glad this ad popped up on my news feedI eat pretty healthy except my snacking at night isn’t the best choices. So when I started using this app it was more of an experiment to see if in fact giving up snacking later more so than earlier would really make a difference. Since quarantine gained about 10lbs and since IF, on week 4, I have lost 5lbs eating the exact same stuff. I’m in for life!! I can’t wait to see what 6 months to a year will bring.Version: 6.4.4

The struggle with fastingOn a few occasions in the past, I’ve had the discipline to go up to 6 days on a water fast and enjoyed the benefits of doing so. But going alone in a world of consumption is a challenge that I haven’t been able to meet for a couple of years. And then along comes this app, and although responses to my questions are clearly AI I know longer, feel alone and can resist the constant temptation to snack and get steady encouragement that reaches beyond any meditative attempts to thwart my appetite. It’s also great to keep track of my water and coffee intake. I’m extremely glad I signed up..Version: 7.6.27

Mr KThis program really works! Great features and reminders make it super simple to stay motivated and determined to achieve your goals. Keep in mind that this program will only work if you keep at it and trust the process, you have to have a strong mind in the beginning and don’t give up, I promise it gets easier as you progress through and the results will amaze you! Every thing good takes time so don’t give up. I personally think SIMPLE is awesome and it has helped me more than I expected..Version: 7.7.0

Intuitive, informative and fun!I really like this app, I’ve tried lots of different ways to inspire myself to be healthier but none have lasted. I’ve been using this for quite a few weeks now and it’s really helping me. I’ve stopped snacking, have lost a little weight, feel lighter in my mood, drinking more fluids, and sleeping better. For these long lockdown days I’ve found it really interesting to read all the little info snippets to help keep me on track, some I knew but needed reminding about and others were new to me. All in all I think it’s great..Version: 6.4.3

Helpful guide to intermittent fastingI used the App for a few weeks and found it helpful in encouraging me to log what I ate, what I drank and how I exercised in between fasting. It made me aware of my eating patterns but I found that the food choices were a bit limited when describing my meals,eg, no healthy muffins mentioned so I described them as cakes..Version: 7.5.6

Simple is as simple as you can getI have Ben using Simple for about five days but wanted to say how much I like the app. Evo is the best. You actually feel like there is another human at the end instead of AI bot. Apologies if it is a human at the end😜 I had already been doing 16:8 for a couple of years, but of late hadn’t been doing it as well. Since March 2023 I have been on a fair bit of medication resulting in putting on around 25lbs of weight despite exercising two or three days a week. This app makes it so easy to log your food, water intake (my downfall) but I do like the fact that this app includes hot drinks. I have also recently started Slimpod so I am using the apps alongside each other. I would definitely recommend Simple at this point. I will do another review once I have used it for a while. But first impressions I am liking it a lot!.Version: 7.6.36

Best AppStarted at 80kgs. Now at 69kgs. It’s a must have app if you want to lose serious weight and feel really good..Version: 7.6.39

Keeping TrackSimple is pretty simple. It’s a place I go to several times a day. I always log the food I’ve eaten, good or bad. I get lots of tips and tricks on how to make my meal or snack plan better. It points me in a the right direction keeping me on track. I enjoy tracking my foods and keeping focused on why I signed up in the first place. I do weigh myself everyday but only track it in the app when I have a weight loss. I set my first goal to lose 100 lbs. In 7 weeks I’ve lost 20.2 lbs. I’m elated with myself! It just took me about 4 days to not crave sugar anymore. I usually fast for 18 hours which gets me a good 6 hours of fat burning time. Around 1:00 PM is my first meal which is a smoothie made with 1 Cup frozen mixed berries, 1/2 banana, a hand full of fresh spinach, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 scoop collagen powder, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a tablespoon of chia seeds, then 10-16 oz of Dragon Fruit Juice from Costco. Then I will have a regular dinner only eating until I just start to feel full. My snack after is usually a grapefruit. I make herbal iced tea that I drink throughout the day. Im very determined to keep going and be a success story. I feel great and have a lot of energy for being 65 years old..Version: 7.6.18

HelpfulIt’s helpful for sure it gets you into the habit of not eating at night if you’ve already committed to fasting but I do find you suffer app fatigue very quickly. You’re all pumped up and do it for the first week, and then you drop out for a couple of days. once you get behind you feel stressed that you haven’t filled it in and it’s not easy to get back on top. then you go and try again and then 3 days later you have app fatigue again. It’s the hassle of constantly every single thing you eat or drink having to enter into the screen, and then having the screen constantly flash up all day interrupting you reminding you of something. Without all the interruptions I might do better with it..Version: 7.6.26

As the name suggests!So simple-makes motivation easy 💪🏼.Version: 7.4.66

I like the app with some minor reservationsI tried the app then bought a year subscription because I liked having the app on my watch, that works great, and I like the journal feature, I could go back and see what I ate and how long my fast was, as well as if I was drinking enough water, being able to add a picture of your meal is a nice addition. It works great in iPhone and although trying to edit my fasting time if I forgot to hit start or stop has to be done through the edit feature in the journal of my phone, I still really like the features of watch app and journal that I haven’t found as useful in other apps. However after 4 months( 120 fasts and 2556 hrs) I tried to download the app to my iPad, big mistake! It doesn’t work on the iPad, and somehow I wiped out everything I had logged for 4 months when I tried to log in with my iPad. I ended up deleting and restoring the app and have now started over. I may have skipped the step of signing in with Facebook or Apple when I signed in initially, which may be my problem. So yes it’s a really nice app, but sign in with email, Facebook or Apple and save your sign in info so you don’t loose it like I did, and not for iPad..Version: 6.1.4

Watch dogWonderful to have a constant companion hovering around reminding me I am ‘mostly’ on target .. thank you.Version: 7.5.9

Great app, but over charging issueI genuinely find this app really great for IF. I was always afraid to try fasting but this app made it super easy, and helped me learn a lot about my relationship with food. My only issue was I was overcharged quite significantly and an additional £80 was taken from my bank account. This really spooked me and I’m a bit scared to continue using the app. However, to their credit after I emailed they replied almost immediately apologising and sent a full refund, which I thought was really great customer service. Like I said it’s a really good app with great information, I’m just nervous now..Version: 7.4.60

Awesome! It’s not my first try with IF, but! This app is amazing! It’s kind of expensive for me to get a premium now, but if you don’t have a premium, it’s good enough too 🙂 and that’s the reason why I love it so much, because most of the apps have 2 choices - premium or if you don’t have premium, you can do 1,2 maybe 3 interactions and that’s all (and this always discourages me). So if I will have an extra money, it’ll be for this app because I want to support this app 🤗 so thank you very much!.Version: 6.4.11

Things I never imaginedI started this on a whim after seeing a social media post of a friend who had decided to try intermittent fasting. Then I saw an ad for simple. I decided to try your app then had serious second thoughts and canceled before I even started. A few days later I decided to use it for the period of time I had already paid for so I wouldn’t feel like I totally wasted that money. Wow! I went all in and with Gods Grace was able to really take advantage of all the information the app provided. The weight started coming off quick. I was impressed. But what I found with those nutritional changes was a new lease on life. I had gone through breast cancer recently and didn’t feel like myself, had really given up on ever feeling normal again. I thought the medication was making me feel the way I did, I was taking ibuprofen by the hands full for body pain. After starting this fasting and mindful eating the inflammation left my body (in3weeks!) and I no longer need to take anything for pain. My pain level is 95% less now at least, just the old age stuff left now (I’m soon to be 55). To date I have lost 42lbs. I started this on 1/6/23 It’s worth every penny, the information provided is priceless. I am so thankful for this app and God for giving me push to continue what I started and prayed for..Version: 7.5.2

Good tool for serious peopleI use that title for a reason. The app has many very good tools, including: meal/food tracker/evaluator/feddback tools, hydration tracker, exercise tracker (intiegrated with some smart phones/watches/etc.), weight tracker (integrated with some smart scales), and helpful feedback/articles on food logged. The other key to this system is tracking and notifying you of suggested fasting times which is a huge help in this diet process. The reason I say "serious people" above, is that the food tracker/feedback mechanism is based simply on foods entered and does not require or give feedback on you entering food QUANTITY/portion sizes. So, self-control on portion sizes by the dieter is required. But the commitment to enter your meals and to lose weight should compensate for that. And the only other reason I gave only 4 stars is that there are a few times that the food feedback mechanism doesn't understand your entry. So, you have to edit your entry one or more times until the system understands it and so it can properly provide feedback. That can be trying. But overall, this is an easy-to-use and helpful tool to help you manage your diet through better food choices and better use of fasting periods. In the first month, I lost 10 lbs and I intend on using this method for a while..Version: 7.6.27

This app has been a game changer for me!I’m glad I decided to give this app a try since I have been successively on IF since July after realizing I’ve gained too much weight after our wedding and from stress eating due to work. The app is easy to use, tracking of food has made me more conscious of what I eat, and it’s made it easier for me to visualize when I should be eating. There is one thing I ask the developer to add to this app in the future: I know it’s a psychological part for me, but I wish there was a “sick” mode that temporarily puts a hold on your IF tracking. Every time I get sick and can’t commit to IF because I’m prioritizing getting better, I feel like I’ve failed a little when it shouldn’t be an issue. If there was some kind of “pause” or “sick” mode for whenever you physically have to not IF without feeling judged for it, I think it would be great for people like me who get discouraged so easily over something as small as this. Otherwise, I’ve loved this app and I will continue using it until I reach my target weight!.Version: 7.6.29

Best App for TrackingOut of all the weight loss apps used, this app is by far the most effective. Instead of tracking calories, you’re tracking your meals which is more sustainable in the long term as you develop a healthy relationship with food. It’s a hybrid of intermittent fasting and mindful eating and I truly believe that the way they introduce this technique is so much better than any other app I’ve used; you can see your body in it’s various stages of fat burning; you have these ‘articles’ that are laid out like instagram stories to make really useful information easy to read and understand; and the way you track food is similar to a NHS approved app for those with unhealthy relationships with food. Only thing is that you have to be willing to log your meals. It’s really not that difficult if you log at least once a day as you can back log previous meals but the first time I used this, I wasn’t doing that and so I wasn’t getting the full benefit of this app. They teach you to live a more sustainable life through scientific information and a personalised experience..Version: 7.2.16

Great app, but has some issuesI have really benefited from this app. It has made me more aware of my eating habits, as well as making feel accountable to my health. The AI help is, for the most part, is great—providing recipes, food nutritional information, and the like. The articles and other resources are very helpful. However, there are some problems. Because the app doesn’t look at specific nutrients of foods entered, it will make judgments about some things entered without knowing what the truth is. Two examples: I had eaten pizza twice in a week—once the day it was purchased, the second time was leftovers. The app said I had logged “junk food” multiple times. The pizza I buy is carefully selected for its quality of ingredients and would not be considered junk food. Second example was just yesterday: I had a bowl of air-popped popcorn that has three ingredients—popping corn, organic extra virgin coconut oil, and Himalayan pink salt—yet the app flagged this as being high in saturated fat and gave it a low score, despite being high in dietary fiber. I love the simplicity of entering foods generally, but feel like it doesn’t have a full understanding of those foods as a result. I wish there was a way to have the option of including ingredient lists or nutritional information to have a better result. I also wish the app had an option to include more specific macronutrient information rather than the generalized versions included in the app..Version: 7.6.39

Awesome but small improvement is desirableThis is an awesome app, although I’m currently a short term user and can’t comment if this habit of tracking everything I eat and drink will stick to me long term. Nevertheless the design of this app is what sticks out to me, and is truly great. The one thing that I wish was improved is when you log your meal you can only set one time, is this the time when your meal started or ended? Which one should I log? Please could you make it so that you can log the time when you started eating and finished as two separate times..Version: 6.5.8

Simply fantasticI love how much it offers even without paying for the subscription. Particularly, the different watch faces that show extra info like where you are in the body status cycle, are incredibly useful and motivating and set this apart from other IF apps I’ve tried. I will likely subscribe for a time to read the supplementary articles, but I’m truly appreciative of how much this app offers for free and I hope it stays that way. My one criticism is I wish there was a way to disable the popups to log food that come up every time I open the app. Sometimes I just open it to check how I’m going and it’s a little annoying having to dismiss them every time..Version: 7.4.6

Simply amazingI’ve never left an App review before (I don’t think) but I’m break that trend for Simple. I’ve been an intermittent faster for a while and have used a few different apps to track my progress throughout the day/week and they just weren’t full featured enough. Simple has everything I could need and more. I’ve gone from tracking fasts, food, weight and progress photos across several apps and now I’m using one. Heck I no longer have to write down in my notes how I was feeling at any time as it’s in the app. All that plus the added benefit of extra information. I’ll admit I started fasting a little ignorantly and learned what I could as I went. In the short time using Simple I know more than I ever did before about fasting, how my body works and what’s happening during my fast/non-fast periods. It’s easy to use, looks good and has everything you could need. Highly recommended for new/experienced intermittent fasters!.Version: 4.1.1

Great App!I just started using this. I didn’t see the option to do the trial, but would have probably ended up committing anyway because I love it so much. Putting money behind my commitment motivates me to stick with it so it’s worth the cost. I have seen zero free apps so it’s silly for people getting on this app for not being free, especially if you have a trial. I think this was really affordable. I agree with a previous review about our body being exhausted, sugar up, etc. It does worry me when I see that but I’m new to this so it’s hard to really judge that. I think there should be more choices for food. Twice I’ve had cereal and don’t know how to record it. For such a common food choice, or even snack choice, I’m surprised to not find that but find seaweed. Maybe add a feature where you can add a food choice to be approved by admin or something. I’m all about details. I don’t know if serving side vs how much you actually eat is important, but I think it is. Portions are important. Maybe add a feature where you can edit or add the food choice and manually enter calories, fiber, carbs, and sugar per serving. Other than dying for more detail with food choices, this app is amazing and I’m so excited to use it and start seeing results! Thank you for such a cool and easy app for beginners along with seasoned fasters!.Version: 6.4.5

The app is greatIt really helped me when I tried intermitted fasting and I love how it logs everything like your activity, water and food consumption. Another thing I like about the app is that if you want to restart it’s super easy to and you don’t have to keep making new accounts. One thing I would like to change is that I wished it had a calorie counter. I know counti calories is bad but people who are doing a calorie deficit need help keeping tract on how much they are eating. Over all this is a great app and I recommend downloading if your doing intermitted fasting or just trying to loose weight.Version: 6.5.5

This App is amazing!!I love how interactive this app is! I love the plan it calculates for you personally based off your answers. Omg it’s really cool and now I’m excited to try a different way to lose weight. I’ve been a bigger person all my life. Since a child. So weight has always been a struggle in my life. At age 25 (6 years ago) I lost 120 lbs on my own without a program or any supplements. I changed my diet and counted my calories. I only was eating about 1500 calories or less. I was in the gym like crazy for 8 hours most days. I felt so worn out and exhausted though. I drank lots of water and developed a habit of eating the right foods and only drinking water. It took me about 3 months to lose 80 lbs with this method. Eventually about 7 to 8 months in I was down about 100 lbs and then it got slower. I went through a divorce and child custody battle with my ex wife and it stressed me out so bad to the point where I gave up on losing weight and maintaining the weight loss & routine. Eventually I became to bust with life and rebuilding what I lost to focus on that lifestyle. I gained most of the weight back the last 6 years. Now I’m ready to try again. A different method though. Hopefully Simple can help me lose the weight again but more importantly keep it off this time..Version: 7.6.9

Great App! Get it and use it!This is a great app and I highly recommend it. That said, with a couple of tweaks I think it could go from great to perfect. All the developers need to do is read all of these reviews and optimize it based on the feedback. I agree with most of it. In my experience with it there are only two issues that should be fixed 1) the food choices are bizarre.I understand if it is more general than exact, but it’s kind of a mix of very general and very specific instead. I am annoyed every time I go to choose foods that should be on there and they aren’t, when so many are on there. that shouldn’t be. 2) you enter the time when you eat a meal, but there is no accounting for the duration of the meal (unless I am missing something). So if you eat a meal at 12 noon it says you started fasting at 12 noon. It should ask how long the meal was or at least give each meal at least a 20 to 30 minute radius. If you’re eating a social meal, sometimes the meal could take an hour and a half. Then what? Aside from those two fixes. I love it and think it is a great app, for a great price. I only use a select few apps religiously and this is now one of them. I have recommended it to all of my friends..Version: 7.3.2

Taking my time. Not punishing myself.Because I have done the hard diets lost 100 pounds three times in my life to only find myself gaining it back in the following two years I was tired of dieting. I did a quick trial of intermittent fasting about 6 months ago. I liked it but it didn’t hold my attention. I was only restricting my hours of eating and not looking at the amounts or choices. Now that I am logging my food I have a better understanding of what I am eating . I get helpful and encouraging information and can text chat my concerns and get real answers and suggestions. I am making better choices, and slowly understanding my choices. My energy level is rising and I don’t feel like I am being punished, shamed, bossed, or bullied over my choices. I can’t even understand why it feels so right but I’m actually excited to be working this program. Nothing is forbidden. I don’t need a warden. I feel respect and that I’m going to change my poor choices without feeling bad about them, but instead because I am ready to understand my relationship with food..Version: 7.6.36

App OK, after sales services abominableTried the app and paid for 3 months. Used for approximately 1 month and didn’t wish to continue. Cancelled/ did not renew and that was fine for three months, all good. aNOW -a further 3 months later, I have Been charged without my authority, for a further 3 months subscription-that I did not request or want. VERY UPSETTING. !!!!!.Version: 7.6.25

Enjoying the appI think the app is great and helps me keep accountable. Having tracked calories before and given up because it is a pain, I find the simple category approach of logging food means that I am happy to log everything and is detailed enough to keep me focused on my goals. I don’t use the fasting graphs because I find they often having missing days for no apparent reason when I know I have started and ended the fast correctly. The weight integration with Fitbit goes in the wrong direction for me ie. I weigh on a smart scales and it automatically updates Fitbit, but the simple app does not pull this in, instead I have to enter my weight in the app and then it duplicates the entry in Fitbit!.Version: 7.2.15

Getting back to normalI am a person who did not have a weight problem the majority of my life. i wanted to tone up a few years back and this person suggested the eat-every-two-hours calorie breakdown. worst mistake of my life. yeah, i was in great shape, but it started to affect me mentally. i went from a person who never thought about food and just ate when i was hungry to a person who thought about food and calorie intake all the time. it was awful. ive been with Simple for 133 days of this review and my god, the turnaround. i feel mentally healthier which if more important to me. everything else (lean body, good eating habits, etc) is the cherry. i still have some food habits that need refinement, but im taking my time bc i know i will get there. this app is gentle with you, it gives good and practical information, and the few times i have broken my fast a bit early i did not feel bad about it and got back on track. this app is helping me recover. i cant express that enough. i hope this review helps someone. peace..Version: 7.1.1

Mean👌.Version: 7.4.36

It’s working for meEasy to use, focus is on fasting and Simple allows you to adjust this to suit you and what’s happening. Emphasis is on healthy eating not calorie counting which makes it easy to log food…I often use the camera to capture my meals which is amazingly accurate! I had a few evenings early on where I had to be really disciplined to not snack but having Simple watch my back kept me on straight and narrow. I’m doing daily 16 hour fasts and can honestly say I’ve lost 4kg in a month. I’m guessing I’ll lose 2kg per month going forward without any stress from feeling hangry!.Version: 7.7.0

Tried noom. This was life changing. So, this is the app that finally helped me with my weight and eating mindfully! I really like the food journal, I was so shocked to find out that I ate every hour…who needs to eat every hour??? Since gaining that insight, I average 5 hours between meals and snacks (this insight is calculated by the app). Im no longer craving sugary foods at night. Through fasting I’ve learned that it isn’t hunger and I can deal with cravings better. My mind used to interpret craving and starving. So far, I can definitely say that I am more mindful. And I like that even without counting calories, I’m seeing results as a positive consequence of being more mindful..Version: 7.4.58

Something that worksI’ve tried many different diets to manage my weight gain since ceasing competitive sport with mixed success but ultimately, always regain the weight. This app has really changed my approach to food. What I eat and when. It provides bite sized education that really gets me thinking about what I put in my body while not telling me what I can and can’t eat. I don’t have to measure my food and count calories which just lets me take a much more relaxed approach to monitoring what I’m eating. If I want to indulge, I can…. but the app is educating me to to really not want to. It’s teaching me what foods fight cravings and what foods are good choices. There is still effort on my part to stick to the fasting window, eat well, sleep well and exercise. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I am changing my eating habits for the better, losing the sugar cravings and gaining more control over my weight without struggling with hunger. It’s not a diet…. it’s becoming my new normal to healthy eating..Version: 7.6.25

Kinda of surprisedI saw this app on a Facebook ad, and I clicked on it with skepticism. They wanted me to pay for it and of course I think it’s a scam so I go to cancel after putting a $7 dollar membership on but something told me to keep it for now. I’ve done Weight Watchers and Noom and all sorts of other things. I have actually been pretty surprised in a good way about this app it’s only been a week and I’m not good with staying consistent but I do find myself really enjoying the articles and my favorite part is watching my blood sugar levels based on what time I ate last. I don’t know why I find that fascinating but they are always a line with my hunger level which- to me I feel like every weight loss app should send that out like “go eat some cucumbers before you make bad choices!”. Anyways, it inspired me to do a 24 hour fast and I’m down four pounds in a week. I dont recommend such a large fast for everyone, but I probably wouldn’t have done that without this app. guiding me through the stages. Good luck on your journeys. Hope this review helps..Version: 7.4.80

SimpleI have found the simple app very useful in monitoring healthier eating habits including intermittent fasting. It’s a great way to see when certain foods are eaten together, & although may only add up to 450 cals’, I find I remain full for the majority of that day as though I had consumed a large portion of meat & two veg🤣😂 I do like the updated food log, although I am having difficulties locating the calorie amount for the meal consumed, as it use to tell you straight away. It would be good to be assisted in locating that within the app, or confo that calories are no longer logged. I have lost at least a stone & half since using the app Nov/Dec 2022, & intermittent fasting, I now only get hungry average 14hrs after my last main meal..Version: 7.5.7

Suits my lifestyle4 weeks 4kg I really like the structure.Version: 7.4.37

Wow, it’s got a lot more then I was expecting. It’s got everything.. to tracking my meals, adding ingredients/foods I’m eating at what time. Tracking my drinks, how much of what drink I’m consuming at a certain time. It’s got so many details. You can adjust the plan, make it your own. You can start with something easy and work your way to longer fasting periods when you’re comfortable. I’m super impressed with the app, and I’m excited to stick to it..Version: 6.2.0

Weight loss and supportI have been with the simple program on 6 weeks now. I have lost 6.3 kg in that time finding the program easy and the support has been everyday . You can ask questions about everything with good advice and lots of great recipes . I feel supported every step of the way . I bought a treadmill to help with the exercise doing 30 minutes in the morning 30 minutes in the evening . With the program and the exercise it’s helping get my weight under control . Highly recommend simple 😊.Version: 7.8.1

Love this App 🤗I just needed an extra helping hand to guide me through trying to do fasting. I’m excited to keep checking where I’m at and all the info bits are really helpful. I did consider buying a book on fasting but this app has all that I need. Only a few days in but am feeling happy with the kind and comfortable way I’m being helped, super cute with all the “you go girl” quotes 😄 I did pay for the 3 months I gotta say if you’re on the fence it’s worth it, I tried using this app ages ago without paying and I can see for me it’s worth it. Though saying that I’m just not very good with self control or will power so if you cba or can’t afford, it still helps you track and guide with fasting. Either way it’s a good buddy!.Version: 7.2.16

It is great…Helps you be aware of what I am eating, and there is support, so I can ask questions if I have doubts and tips for delicious and healthy meals..Version: 7.8.0

Not bad!I’ve never really gave intermittent fasting a good go before trying this app. It’s really helpful..Version: 7.4.34

Was more motivating beforeHi makers of Simple! I wanted to share with you that this app was very helpful the first year that I used it. It was the only way for me to lose weight and when I travelled with a group for half a year, I was the only one who could maintain my weight and I felt super proud of that! I renewed my subscription but then 2 months later I got pregnant, so basically I couldn’t fast anymore. I changed it in the settings, that I was pregnant, but that didn’t do anything to the app. No recommendations or anything. I did some very light fasts by myself now and then for health reasons but I basically didn’t use the app for the rest of the year. I did renew the subscription because I was exited to lose the baby weight. But I see the option to say you are pregnant or breastfeeding has disappeared. I know some don’t recommend to do it while nursing but actually a lot of people do light fasting and have a lot of benefits from it without it affecting their milk! But I also see that the interface has changed… I really liked the visual circle of time tracking. It was very encouraging and motivating. Now it’s just a line that doesn’t move… I also liked clicking on pictures of what kind of food you ate and the effect it gave on what articles you get. This disappeared too. Just typing it… but then I don’t feel it does anything for you. I don’t know… I feel it's not as engaging anymore. But I still want to five it 4 stars because the app has helped me so much before!.Version: 7.5.13

Expensive for what offers and creepy auto-renewalIt is basically just a reminder with some semi-random articles scattered around. That would be good for a free app, but they somehow scam you to auto renewal and end up paying monthly more than you do for a decent streaming service. The smug customer service person is quick to point they have sent you an auto renewal reminder. They tone is pretty much telling that I was stupid not to check my emails and deserve to pay for a subscription I did not want to. To top that they do not even send a receipt for the auto renewal and the subscription in the app does not have audit history so I can’t even see for how long I have supposedly subscribed for. Update: developer responded and they are looking into improving the points I raised. I’m pleased that the team looks into the feedback and plans improvements accordingly. From 2 to 4 stars 😁.Version: 7.6.0

Je reviensJ’avais abandonné mais là je reviens parce que j’aime votre application, heureusement je suis abonné jusqu’à février 2025. J’ai de la difficulté à boire autant d’eau et je ne fais pas beaucoup d’exercice. Bravo continuez votre mission!🤝👍.Version: 7.6.38

So far, so good.I’m less than a week in and have noticed that just by the fact that you have to log everything you put into your mouth makes you think twice about eating it. Yes, this app takes discipline, I’m yet to see if that discipline pays off. My only gripe is that the food database does not contain enough entries. Living in Australia, none of the common foods consumed here are in the database. I really hope some serious investment into enriching the available foods in the database occurs, especially for overseas users of the app. Our subscription dollar is just as important as the U.S. dollar. Please don’t ignore us..Version: 7.4.80

Good app with limited food dataI had been using the Lose It app off and on for years- I like the unobtrusiveness of it while tracking macros. Over time it has amassed a giant library of food items so logging is easy and the nutrition data is pretty good. I thought I’d try the Simple app to level up my IF initiatives. Overall, I like the app for IF and general mindfulness of what is important (how you eat vs nitpicking every little thing you eat), but after a week it asked me if I wanted to get more granular logging food and honestly, no. The app has very very few food items I can match and I certainly am not sitting down and logging every tiny bit of nutrition info myself. I can’t log many vegan options, for example. If you want that sort of tracking this is not the app for you, but if you want to celebrate little wins, do IF, and get some fun tips (which you may not need- it doesn’t gather your nutrition know-how level upfront, and just because a person wants to get healthier doesn’t mean they don’t know sugar is bad), and track your water and activity, it’s good for that..Version: 7.4.80

Useful app, 1 request/suggestionEasy to engage with this app, simple and clearly laid out and I have found it very useful over the last 3 months. One thing I’m wishing it had is the choice of electrolyte drink tracking or perhaps the option to make a not in the drink tracker or journal itself like the food one ( it has so many options, this one more would be useful to me ) I have had to make a note in the food tracker to clarify that my ‘water’ is actually electrolyte (NOT energy) drink as I am unwell today and want to use this to keep track specifically of my electrolyte drink intake..Version: 7.1.1

Blown awayWow this app is so much better than i thought! i’m only 2/3 weeks down using this app, so there’s only a little progress to show so far. however, i think the app is really awesome and encouraging. it provides lots of useful information to make you want to achieve goals. all this in the free version too! highly rate it. it’s good because i don’t really have the extra money to spend on the extras, yet it helps so much. all of the free articles on motivation, challenging yourself, dealing with fasting, and so so so much more. thank you to the creators for this app! i don’t really know what i would do without it.Version: 7.4.21

The app is greatFood choice needs to be wider or have also custom input or where I can write a food item that is off the list. Otherwise the app is fantastic and anyway deserves a solid 5-⭐️.Version: 7.4.16

Use it!!!Hey, I’m only on my first week or 2 and I have already noticed a major change in my self confidence and happiness which is awesome, you can customise how hard you’d like to fast so it’s not harming you in anyway. Everything that is MANDATORY doesn’t cost a thing, it’s only if you want the full experience of reminders, etc you’d buy the add ons if offers. Before or after you fast there’s a notification telling you that your fasting starts in half an hour so you are prepared and get your water intake. I don’t usually write reviews but fr, DOWNLOAD THIS there’s literally no way you can go downhill if you follow the time schedules..Version: 7.3.4

IF worksI stumbled upon this app by doing a Facebook quiz. I had not heard of IF previously, though I had tried every diet under the sun and in every case gained rather than lost weight. The best thing about this app is the private support group. Through them I learned about the science behind IF, and why IF works when restrictive diets don't. I am 12 weeks in and 14lbs down, which after my experience with restrictive diets, seems like a miracle. IF works. Don't expect meal plans or counting anything. Do expect to go on a journey of what works for your unique body.Version: 7.5.13

Great AppI enjoy the step by step guide and alternative food suggestions for a healthier diet. No need to make drastic changes but small changes that will hopefully last and become second nature..Version: 7.6.31

Positive but some slight technical tweaksIt’s a decent little app, I knew a lot of the information it provides already but if you were completely new to fasting, had no idea why it was beneficial this would be a good app to have. It could be improved by reminding people to eat if necessary as fasting can become a bit addictive if you have such positive benefits like clearer thinking and being able to handle moods better. Also how to break specific fasts depending on your fasting type as if you’ve been on a long fast I’ve heard it’s not a good idea to eat a traditional heavy meal. I’ve never done a fast longer than 48h so I don’t know for certain if the app gives this advice anyway. For the majority of people though it’s a good app.Version: 5.4.2

Love SimpleI’ve had the app since last November and have had great success with weight loss and changing the way I look and eat food. Leaning so much about different foods and what they can do for or not for you. I have become more mindful of food emotional eating and proper hunger. Still have days when on the learning curve with emotional eating!! Love the pop ups with advise and encouragement. I’m not part of Facebook etc. so don’t upload photos etc. But I don’t think I miss out on not having this, I get enough help and encouragement from the app in other ways. However; since the apps new layout I do miss the calorie tracker. I understand the change. I just found it very helpful to keep track on what I was consuming each day. I also miss the Fibre and Protein tracker that was there before. This was very helpful maybe more so that the calorie tracker. Maybe there’s a way of having this particular part reinstated, similar to the fluid intake tracker this very helpful and I like the app reminders. As I only drink cold water or Hot water maybe a Matcha tea during the day. But the pop up reminders are very useful. So to sum up. Simple has been a brilliant addition to my daily life. Thank you. Xxx.Version: 7.5.6

MotivatesI just started a few days ago. Immediately I began to be more aware of the situation with My health. As soon as I signed up I read everything up to the videos. I had to stop to go to work. I began the program then. Just knowing that Simple is on my phone seems to make me more aware of what I am doing Before I would eat things and not even remember I was trying to help myself through diet. I remember to fast even before my Program tells me to. I admit I haven’t taken time to record my intake however that changes today. My app had 4 reminders when I woke up. I am going through them now. This has helped to change my behavior already. I find myself thinking about how and what I will do to improve myself. I was recently diagnosed with onset diabetes, stage 3 kidney problems and liver problems. I was so overwhelmed I couldn’t get motivated. Just the name Simple got Me to read the initial program. I don’t think I would have even considered it otherwise. What’s in a Name comes to mind. That’s exactly what I needed, Simple, to get Me going I’m not perfect at it by any means But I have Hope and that is exactly what I needed. Extraordinary I must say What’s in a Name. Thank You SIMPLE.Version: 7.4.68

Good AppOverall, I really like this app. At first it was really difficult to see how you could get to the workings of the app without subscribing, but if you click enough “x” buttons you eventually get there. I used the app daily for about a month, until the fasting schedule I programmed for myself became habit. It gave some great insights into when I should or should not be eating or snacking, and it really has helped provide the missing boost my body needed to start dropping weight. What I really liked about the app was that it gave you a good idea of the stages your body was in during your fasting period. It provided the extra incentive to see that you were only an hour away from the fat burning stage and if you could continue the fast just a bit longer you’d do better for your body. Also, it was a great reminder that maybe you weren’t hungry but actually bored or thirsty. There were a number of days that I went for a snack, but paused and checked my app first, it suggested that I wouldn’t need food for another hour, so I grabbed a carbonated water instead. I would always end up getting busy and wouldn’t end up snacking for another couple hours or I would skip the snack until it was time for the next meal. Great app for a gentle reminder without being overly detailed and a calorie counter!.Version: 7.3.1

SimpleSimple and informative. Would like to see option of decaff coffee in fluids coz not there currently and if afternoon coffe drunk it is invariably decaff. Thanks.Version: 7.5.13

A few fixes would make this app even betterFor their weekly bot check ins, they don’t give an option for “it was fine, i had no issue weighing in” all of their answer button options make the person answering feel like they should be stressed or feeling bad about weighing in or like it’s some big accomplishment to “feel better” or “be easier” than weighing in the week before. they should have an answer that is just “it was fine”. everything else they offer as an answer choice assigns a negative connotation to weighing in. that’s not only unhelpful, but could be highly triggering to anyone with previous or active body image or eating disorders. it would also be great if there were more pre set options for logging food, like nutrition info from National chains & such. as well as having cups & oz as an option for everything, not everyone has a scale to sort out how many grams of something we ate & some of us could more easily guesstimate portions by cups or oz. just a suggestion. i also can’t seem to find anywhere that it tells you how many calories you’ve consumed when you go through all the hassle of logging everything you’ve eaten in a meal or a day..Version: 7.4.69

It’s so SimpleI’ve been using this app for a little under a week. It is the second fasting app that I’ve tried. I went with Simple over the other app (and other weight loss/calorie counting apps) for a couple of reasons: 1) price: it is less expensive than both of the apps I was using previously. As someone who wants to lose a little extra weight, be healthy about it, BUT is also watching their finances because... a down payment on a house isn’t going to save itself 😉... the price tag on this app made me want to try it. 2) I love the way food is logged. I love that it doesn’t look at your calories. I love that it asks how that meal felt. I love that you don’t have to scan a barcode, or sort out a recipe every dang time you log a meal. I’m obsessed, to be quite honest. I also love that it’s tied into my fasting app. Of course this app has other awesome features, like articles, it integrates with my Fitbit, etc, but those two were the biggest selling points for me when I started. I couldn’t recommend this app enough to anyone looking at wanting to learn more about fasting. I don’t usually become obsessed with health tracking apps, but Simple is different..Version: 6.4

Simple Works!I started program less than a month and I’ve seen weight loss each week. Although, sometimes the check off goals don’t align with me personally. For instance I made the decision not to eat any snacks when I started this program yesterday’s goal was no snacks. If it was monitoring my diet it would know I don’t snack so I didn’t need that for a goal. Also, I am allergic to many things, and it never ask you for your allergies other than very basic things, and it puts my allergies as dairy, free, mine is a little more complicated than that. I love that I never count calories, I do not eat a keto diet on this diet even though it suggest it where I have so many dietary restrictions, I have to eat the food groups that I am not allergic to. It’s still calculates. And keeps me very aware of staying hydrated. It does explain a lot of what foods are not good overall, this is a very effective program. It helps you to journal to know what you were eating and it has a water tracker which I immensely needed..Version: 7.5.8

Simple is Simply the BestSimple is not just helping you track and log your meals; it’s far from that! After a few days of using this, OMG, I already learned a lot, and it was highly entertaining reading; I love everything about this app! Highly recommended app for people who wants to reduce weight, and you will learn without forcing yourself. All the best G from NZ.Version: 7.4.29

Fabulous appI’ve been using Simple for a week now and although I haven’t weighed myself, my clothes definitely feel looser. It’s very easy to follow and is highly informative. I found the first 2-3 days VERY HARD, with constant cravings, hungers pangs and headaches. However, once you emerge from the other side, it makes it all worth it. I’m not only eating healthier, my cravings have disappeared. Instead of binging on sugary food, I’m now actually enjoying tasty treats for what they are, a treat. My only suggestion for improvement would be to include more food choices as it’s pretty limited. Other than that, it’s worth every penny..Version: 7.2.9

I lost 20kg in 4 monthsI was going skiing for the first time in many years, at 70 years old, 105 kg and with two recent hip replacements I thought it would be good to to lose some weight but had never had much success before just giving up certain foods or trying to diet. Then I stumbled on Simple online and answered the questionnaire. I stated my goal which was to lose 10 kilos in 2 months. Downloaded the App and set it to 14-10 and just followed the instructions, the first couple of days it was difficult to skip breakfast ( particularly if someone in the house made toast!) and not have milk in my morning cup of tea but after 3 or 4 days it got easier and I found I felt great in the mornings and could keep busy, drink water and black coffee and not eat till lunchtime, making some of my fasts 17 or 17 hrs. I easily dropped the 10 kilos in time for the skiing trip and had a great time so I decided to carry on with the Simple way and have since lost another 10 kg and have stabilised at around 85kg, my waist size has dropped from 38” to 34”, I haven’t been in 34” jeans since my early 40s! The Simple App has changed things I eat, the times I eat, the way I eat and the way I think about food so it’s much more a lifestyle change than a diet. The great thing is it’s simple and sustainable..Version: 7.5.8

It’s ok butI like the idea of the app and how it reminds you to hydrate and when you need more protein or fiber. However, there’s areas that need serious work. Like the app is fully aware that I’ve been very consistent with my fasting and logging everything everyday. But yet, everyday, I get a random “we missed you yesterday” notification. Also today I logged my breakfast and it was about 600 calories. The app recorded it as 5200!! So now it’s yelling at me about keeping my caloric count down 🤦‍♀️ I don’t like that there is no way to just manually enter what food you have eaten if it’s not something that is in their database (which there happens to be A LOT of things not in there!). Nor can you create a recipe to log your own homemade meals which is what we do. We don’t eat much processed foods. For example a casserole I made I had to just enter each ingredient for the meal and rely on the system to count the calories based on that. But those calories are not accurate because you’re limited to using “similar” items that are in the system..Version: 7.4.60

Amazingly Simple..!This app has been really helpful to gain control over maintaining a balanced and conscious effort in fasting. I have been using this for 6 weeks and already lost 5 kilos. This is such an simple app based program gives very interesting data on our diet based on our inputs and all that does contribute to overall understanding of how the food we eat impacts us in return. Would definitely recommend this application for people finding it difficult to loose weight..Version: 7.5.9

JUST WOW, DOWNLOAD IT.. NOW!!So I was just casually scrolling through the App Store and looking for any new apps that may tickle my fancy, I came across this app all about fasting, which I’ve been really interested in however haven’t fully tried it. So I decided to download this app to give it a try and see if it was worth my time. I will admit it was a teensy bit confusing to navigate it first but it took me all of 5 to 10 minutes to get the hang of it. And wow! It literally has everything you could ask for, it asked you or personal question so I can really tailor it to yourself, and you can even use it for free! The virtual assistant gave some really good insights about eating when you actually hungry or emotional eating which I do a lot. It doesn’t persistently try to contact me and annoy me with stupid notifications, it reminds me to drink water which I definitely need!, And it’s really intricate and its details when asking you what you ate and why you ate it and things like that. However you don’t have to answer those all the time if you don’t want to. It lets you change what ours you want to fast so it’s not just a set time that they give you, and it even has more insights than that. I highly recommend this app, I’ve never reviewed up before or felt the need to but I felt the need to share this as I love it so much..Version: 6.3.0

DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!This app shared my bank information which resulted in my card having to be blocked, due to ‘suspicious activity’ where someone tried to spend $80 on my card. My bank traced it back to this app due to their $1 ‘discount’ 7 day trial. This is simply ridiculous. I never normally write reviews but I find the lack of security on this app astounding for this to happen. If you don’t want your money stolen I highly recommend not downloading. Unacceptable..Version: 7.6.5

Back to excellenceUpdated five star review: Adding food ingredients is back to simplicity, the app is near perfect again Original two star review: The app used to be about focusing on fasting, not dieting. To log a meal, you’d name the meal (free text ), tap various ingredients and move on. The app would provide feedback on what you ate and alert you on when your fast should start and finish. Now it forces you to select a meal ingredient by ingredient and weigh each ingredient as well. If I wanted obsessive calorie tracking, I’d have bought a calorie tracker. Terrible design choice by the devs.Version: 7.5.6

So far so good on iOSI’m currently using the free trial and have been tinkering with the app and have successfully finished one day of logging food, water intake, and weight loss, etc. I have now started my first fast and I am loving this app. It shows up on the Lock Screen and shows your timer for your fast, it also tells you where your at in your windows for eating depending how many meals you choose to have during your day. Logging food is interesting because your literally just typing what your eating in a paragraph form or even in bullet points like I’m doing. The more details you put the better (like quantity, name of brand, etc) And the AI will interpret what was typed and grade it with a score and give you macronutrient information. I wish the macros were a little more in depth as it only gives percentages. Still I’m not complaining. The chat feature with AI also has been on point with answering my questions really well with great information that’s more then what I even expected (even includes a summary of our conversation at the end). It has not missed a single thing that I have thrown at it. Really excited to finish this trial and see if I should become a subscribed user. Thank you guys for creating a wonderful app to help me create mindful eating habits instead of “winging” it day by day. 🤟🏾😊🙏.Version: 7.6.35

Great app - simple but effectiveLost 90g per day for 125 days to achieve the target set by the app that actually had a program to lose the weight at 70g per day. Total weight loss 11.4 kg. I know there are other apps, and you could simply set your alarm to say when to eat and when not to, but the app does provide good encouragement and insights as you go. What that does is help form new habits which will hopefully mean I never put that weight back on. Now I’m super fit, really healthy and feeling great. The app would be better if it tracked exercise/energy better from the Health App rather than the basics around steps taken..Version: 7.0.3
