✓ New contentYou should add arcade mode to both DOOM 1 and 2 because sometimes I want to replay some of the older levels but I need to start a new game and work my way up. Also you should add a mode where it’s kinda like arena and you just monsters for fun. And when I beat level 16 it shows the master levels I don’t get to fight the icon of sin! ✓ Touchscreen controlsI have somewhat of a hard time understanding the problem with the touch controls people have as they aren’t that bad. While the old ones were inarguably better the new controls function properly for me and I can’t say that they have much problem at all. ✓ I second adding custom controls!Great game obviously, not going into the history of it once again, but these controls don’t do the gameplay justice. Matter of fact, they are so sluggish and accidental that they full on drag the experience down. For example, it’s like playing electric guitar and having to hold it up at the same time because you didn’t buy a strap - playing’s almost impossible. These controls are like the equivalent to that. The gameplay indeed suffers as a result. If we could adjust the size and position like others have said, that just might be crazy enough to work! My fat thumbs can’t press the fire button all the time so a one size fits all approach here is NOT the way to treat such a classic.Version: 1.1.6

✓ Fantastic game but needs controller supportThe game is amazing, a really impressive port of the original looks and sounds great, Bethesda have done a really good job here. Only issue is the controls are a bit floaty, you can adjust the sensitivity but that’s about it. What this game needs is CONTROLLER SUPPORT. You can play with a controller BUT you can’t move in any direction other than forwards and backwards which in a doom game is a death sentence. So please Bethesda... add the controller support then 5 stars easy 👍🏻.Version: 1.1.4

✓ Almost perfect!The original game was the perfect run and gun action shooter. This version brings all that back with the exception of auto fire. The huge rooms full of monsters require an auto fire from either the chain gun or plasma rifle. Both are extremely weak when shot in single click bursts. The double click to auto fire is very difficult to achieve with any consistency. Make this easier to use and the game is perfect!.Version: 1.1

✓ Joystick and bullseye icons are my only complaintI love this game! My only complaint is that you cannot adjust the transparency or just turn off the joystick and bullseye icons. They are really distracting and make the screen look like a cluttered mess. I don’t believe in the previous ports that this was an issue, as there was an option to turn them on or off. ✓ ControlsGame itself is legendary. Firstly can I just say the game actually looks amazing: sharp, detailed, but no ridiculous ‘smoothing’ going on. Controls take some getting used to - especially learning to ‘flick’ round corners and 180 degree turns, but after 20 minutes practice I’m moving around like a pro. The fire mechanic is a bit off for constant firing - very difficult to get that right every time. And the music is too slow as everyone in the world has pointed out. The whole ‘Bethesda.net’ account thing is way overblown. Takes 10 secs to make an account. Probably took people longer to complain... Overall a decent port of an amazing game..Version: 1.0

✓ Please add custom Contols Settings!!!Nothing crazy but adding the option to move some of the buttons on the screen like the shoot and action button to make it bigger smaller or just move it where ever the user would like. Another alternative could be adding the option to just tap the right side of the screen to shoot, it’ll be more comfortable especially for somebody like me with big hands. I keep missing the shoot and action button cause of my thumb covering the buttons. The controls definitely do need work, it’s hard to do the double tap to get automatic weapons to keep firing but it’s only a minor annoyance for me. I was thinking 3D Touch to shoot. This game is a must for a Made For iPhone (MFi) controller. I’m using a SteelSeries Sratus XL, I had the older Doom app, and I agree with the other reviews that it’s not a game designed for touch. ✓ Controls are better now, but...First off, I’m going to say, this is an EXCELLENT port of Doom II! I really appreciate this last update, especially brining back the classic title screen! Now, this update made the controls and map FUNCTIONALLY WAY better than before, and the gameplay is all the better for it and much appreciated, BUT the downside is that AESTHETICALLY the control and map button icons are really bland looking. I would recommend the following: - Using the in game open bare fist sprite for the pickup/interact hand button control. - The LOOK (not the functionality) of the joystick in the last version for the current joystick, but keep the functionality of the current joystick. -Maybe add some color (but still be transparent enough to see through) to the shoot bullseye button. - The map function WORKS great but it would LOOK better as a roll or grid map icon (in color as well). -Lastly, an option to adjust control size, location and transparency would be much appreciated. Overall, this is a fantastic port of a ln undisputed gaming classic and the latest update is certainly appreciated and most definitely a step in the right direction. ✓ PS4 be iOSI launched my PS4 versions of DOOM and DOOM II to see that it’s actually 60FPS and the controller support is on-par. These changes don’t seem to be implemented in the iOS versions of the games. I was wondering if 60FPS and better controller support (at least for DualShock 4) would be implemented. Love how it’s actually 60FPS on console. In the new release notes for these apps, they say 60FPS, yet they still produce 35FPS. ✓ AmazingIt’s like going back to the 90s, totally worth the $4.99. Even has an option to activate the old school cheats like “god mode” and “give everything”. I don’t have any issues with the controls which seems to be the main complaint in the App Store - because I use it with an xbox controller. iPads and iPhones now support xbox one and PS4 Bluetooth controllers which has been a huge jump in using them for gaming. TLDR; Great port for a great game, but always room for improvement Backstory about me; I’ve been playing Doom for years and probably have more that a thousand hours combined on all platforms which are PC, iPad, Console etc I LOVE DOOM and what it has done to me as a whole, it’s shaped me for the better, whether is it to let me vent out or just have fun with friends. Doom is a first person shooter which was created in 1993. Everyone knows it and how impactful the game itself is on the pop and gaming industry as a whole. Porting first person shooters which rely on precise movement is hard but Doom is an exception which shines in the App Store. Old issues such as poor looping for songs and the infamous logging into Bethesda net have been eradicated. However, there are some problems that I would like fixed The iPad Pro display still doesn’t have full support and black bars are apparent on both sides which should be full of display Controls are a big problem which can be easily fixed. The buttons for the iPad display are mind numbingly small and trying to beat any plutonia map with these current controls might be impossible on a big screen. CUSTOM CONTROLS WHICH ARE SELECTED FROM THE USER SHOULD BE ALLOWED! YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO RE-ARRANGE WHERE BUTTONS GO, THEIR SIZE AND WHETHER THEY SHOW UP OR NOT! The weapon wheel sometimes doesn’t even allow you to select a weapon, which leaves you dead in a corner More options such as no-clip and more aspect ratios will be appreciated, especially for the new iPad Air and Pro users due to the size of the screen The crosshair should have more customisability options such as colour, size, type etc MULTIPLATER DEFINITELY NEEDS TO EXIST! Whether it be co-op or death-match, in LAN or online, Doom is still prevalent to this day because of multiplayer and not having that in a Doom game is a crime Allow community-selected addons and allow users to import custom wads from their own collection to play (death-match will strive if this is implemented) Censorship will always be annoying to have, please just give us the Doom we always had.
