Spotify Kids for Negative User Reviews

Why do you have to payOk like come on surely you can just let your kids listen to music without bad language in it for free right? Like why it’s just not necessary and they just want your money..Version: 1.31.0

Liked it but it’s not that goodWhen I had it I used it all the time but almost all of the songs I like you to listen to were not on their. You guys need to make it so where their are more age options for the older kids like 13 to 15 then 16 and up so that you can have almost all the song in the world on this app and not let the younger kids be able to listen to the older stuff but at the same time the older kids have all of the different kinds of music like some with bad words and some with none so that you will get more people who get this app and you will make more money💵 and be more beneficial to the public..Version: 1.35.0

No Facebook loginGreat idea but app was released without standard Facebook login so I’m unable to login..Version: 1.8

UpsettingI have Spotify premium but not family just single so when I went to sign up my little brother it would not work very disappointing and i hope this changes so that premium people can sign up.Version: 1.36.0

Wow absolute worst music appIncredibly basic, no ability to customize playlists, search for songs, can’t remove the default playlists so 12 year olds are stuck with the nursery rhymes playlist. This is such junk. Furious that I upgraded to a family account just for this..Version: 1.36.0

NopeNope I’m not wasting money on premium and I’m 11 and how do you think kids like me and probably everyone else using this app are gonna get the money to get a family plan. And you also have to have a real Spotify account not a kid account to even USE the app come on guys I think my parents will just have to let me get real Spotify not this garbage. So every body else reading this just get real Spotify and listen to your favourite songs there. P.S getting real Spotify is just a recommendation for people that DONT want to waste money on a app that gives you songs for 2 year olds when you sign up as 12..Version: 1.31.0

Not good enoughI was excited about the app and quickly set up the kids. The colors and bold simplicity is quite nice. However a couple drawbacks... first I saw some playlists that didn’t fit our family. This was my first issue so I figured out that you can block content but only played content. So I had to play every item in the playlist🙄 when I would have preferred to not have to play it to block it, also to have the option to block the whole playlist if need be. The second issue I encountered was finding the music the kids really like. The artist ScratchGarden could not be found. And then Koo Koo Kanga Roo... I found it but the song list was ridiculously limited. And that was it for me. And like another user said... I want to be able to create my own playlists. So I’m deleting and setting up a regular account for them. I pay too much money for premium service, to use such a limited account, even if it is for kids..Version: 1.19.0

No playlistsThought this would be good for separating the playlists we play for our little toddler (fun, bedtime, etc.), so the kiddie songs don’t mess up our recommendations. But with no playlists it’s useless for that purpose. Update 4/7 to developer’s response: Thanks for the response. I did see that I can “heart” songs to add them to a favorites list. However, this doesn’t help because we have multiple playlists (fun, bedtime, etc.). Plus, the fact that it automatically downloads favorited songs was actually a negative for me. I don’t want songs taking up space on my device when I can just stream them. That said, added a star as a thanks for responding to my feedback :).Version: 1.11.2

Not goodI do not like this because you can’t get the songs you like my song that I love and my little cousin loves as well is boyfriend and you can’t get that!.Version: 1.31.0

SHUFFLE BUTTON!!!I get the fact that there is limited songs because it’s meant for kids BUT the fact there is no shuffle button is really bad (hence my rating). There is other issues but this really bugs me. Plllleeeaaassse fix this. ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🩷🤍🤎🖤🩶.Version: 1.36.0

More variety and takes long for new songs to come outHello, I love this app but it just has a few flaws. Im a parent and I have compared that there are more appropriate songs that you can still add , my child loves Rihanna and she noticed that some non-explicit songs aren’t there so if you could fix that that would be great . Also lets say a song came out July 10, 2023, It would’ve came out to this platform September. It takes a while to hear new songs on this app then the regular app. If you could improve these things that would be amazing. Thank you.Version: 1.33.1

Don’t forget about the kids 8-12😡😡😡This is the worst music app it has songs only for the age groups of 1-7 and any good songs are sung by kids bop and they completely change the song.Version: 1.36.0

Needs more music choicesI tried this out of Curiosity, and found out it has some issues. First of all, I think you should be able to make playlist with the music they have on the app. I also think they’re should be more music, like maybe clean music to a specific song. Instead of not putting the song overall. I think this could be a great app for kids, but you do need a little bit more updates..Version: 1.13.0

Requires premium membership 👎Deleted as soon as I downloaded it..Version: 1.31.0

I think it’s good but a problemI never joined kids premium before so I pressed the no button at the start but instead of letting me use the app without premium, it just put me on what I will get with it. And it was just stuck on that. Please CHECK the app before posting it!.Version: 1.30.0

Let the parents control the contentAppreciate what you guys are trying to do here but after setting this up today I’m seriously considering switching to Apple Music. And that’s saying a lot because I love Spotify. If you insist on using a kids app, you need to add controls so the parents can set what their kids can access based on ratings instead of censoring it yourself. I personally am not one of those people that cringes at the thought my kids might hear something that the censors decided they don’t want them to. Leave the parenting to the parents. Other option is just use your regular app and add parental controls. My kids certainly don’t need the goofy avatars and the giant icons. I want to like this - I really do but you guys really need to open things up so my kids have some choices that I can control and monitor myself. Hopefully this feedback is constructive - it’s intended to be..Version: 1.13.0

App designed for toddlersI’m embarrassed to make my 8 year old use this, never mind my 11 year old..Version: 1.36.0

I don’t know how to sign inIt says do you have a subscription to something and when you press no it goes back to the same question and know I am stuck! HELP ME!!.Version: 1.8.1

HorribleIt’s pre picked songs, and not a lot either. I picked ages 5-12 and it mostly toddler songs like rain sounds and lullabies. There is pop and some rock, but you can’t search songs or share pre approved playlists with you kid. This would be so much better if they just had clean versions of songs or songs that were just clean in general. There’s a lot of Disney. And the songs that aren’t are old songs, almost nothing new. They make it sound like they hand pick this stuff, which I’m sure is true. BUT they should add new songs every day and a search feature. Something..Version: 1.36.0

Useless if Family Account is fullRequires you to use one of the six accounts in your family account so if you have all six accounts used then you cannot use this. Doesn’t provide an alternative other than to kick someone off your family account to make way for the kids account..Version: 1.8

Don’t need my child singing about giving oralNot sure a 5-12 year old should be listening to lyrics like “bruises on both my knees for you” or “might seduce your dad type”. Seems like this was built off Disney and only popular music, with questionable and down right inappropriate lyrics. I don’t need my 8 year old singing about giving oral, just saying. I think each child is different and the control needs to remain with the parent. This app should absolutely have the ability for the parents to add and remove music/artists, without that feature this app is as useful as a glass hammer..Version: 1.11.2

No option to cast to google nest speakerThe picture on the App Store clearly shows a google casting option but this does not exist on the real thing. Had I known this I’d never have changed my membership to family..Version: 1.31.0

Not workingImpossible to mâle an accountedge for kids!.Version: 1.36.0

This app sucks d$ckIt has only two of the songs that I like and all the songs are for freaking two-year-old after I got this I thought it was a great app after I tried searching up a song that I liked and it did not come up with one and it doesn’t have multiple age groups I’m pretty sure it has two this is the worst app would not recommend I hate it.Version: 1.36.0

Overall great appBUT I have been reading other reviews and this one is pretty much the same thing … you can’t get the music that you want ,so I have a suggestion why not make something like a multi question test so that using the information that the people give you base the app’s music on like if he/she put that they like pop more than rock then put less rock music and more pop music on the app, also some of the songs that people want that are perfectly fine and respectable music are never there why not . it’s not rocket science people !!! why not let the user decide what they want? if it’s for kids then let kids help you improve it !.Version: 1.20.2

TrashYeah. I CANT LISTEN TO MUSIC BECAUSE MY FAMILY MEMER DONT HAVE SPORTIFY. I JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO MUSIC! COME ON!.Version: 1.36.0

Why premium?I think I would LOVE this app if you didn’t have to have premium.Version: 1.31.0

Great concept but too restrictedThis is a brilliant concept and great user ability for kids but it is far too restricted where’s the rock and roll? For example there’s no Thumberstruck, ACDC. I understand it’s not for everyone but my son is disappointed. I think it needs more controls to cater for a wider range of children..Version: 1.26.0

IT SUCKSAll it does is say u have to get a stuped premium then it has to work!?!?! MAKES NO SENSE I HATE IT.Version: 1.31.0

PointlessThis is so poor. Maybe ok if your kids are 5, but a bit older and it’s pointless. My son can’t save playlists and the music availability is dire. It’s a waste of time and so incredibly disappointing for a kid who likes his music and was looking forward to getting his own account. I’m unsure whether to just lie about his age and give him full access, or move to another provider..Version: 1.36.0

Sign up loopYou can’t sign your child up if you as premium plan owner use a social login like Facebook and you can’t sign up a child under 12 for the regular app..Version: 1.17.0

I love it butI Love this app but like not make a for you to like sign in it and that’s just so weird pls. Make it not.Version: 1.36.0

Just let me have a normal accountIt has no x at the start, I just want a regular account, not a premium one :(.Version: 1.31.0

Australia?I got a notification to use this via my family subscription and it doesn’t work in Aus??.Version: 1.31.0

Close but wound up back on full appIt is missing tracks that I was using for pink noise baby sleep sounds, surely ideal content to cross over (has some mind, but our baby is of course fussy). Thought it would be handy as I couldn’t use my account whilst playing them and Spotify’s algorithms are really good for finding new music - Now all I get suggested is white noise albums. This app allows playing separate music over the one account. But then doesn’t have a loop option for the white noise tracks so largely useless there and also seems laggy in playing, compared to full app. Wound up having to create another account and add to my family account. Back to the full app..Version: 1.17.0

Let the parents decideI want the ability to create playlists for my child using the music I decide is ok. Why can’t I just share playlists with his account instead of having a limited selection that includes music I don’t necessarily want my 4 year old listening to but doesn’t include a lot of his favorite songs. Parents know what their little ones like just let the parents add playlists to their kids accounts. If it’s not possible to do that why not just include everything that’s not explicit then offer the ability to block or remove songs… the way it is now I will just keep using my own account for my 4 year old, this app is useless as is..Version: 1.31.0

Olivia rodrigoPlease put more or her songs on there please she is my idol.Version: 1.36.0

Pretty badI thought this would be a great solution for sharing quality music with my kids and keeping him away from the inappropriate stuff. Well, sharing simply does not work! Unless the playlist is public (had to do some digging to figure that out). And my kids can’t search for the music they like. We were all optimistic at first but now they’re begging me to bring back the old Spotify and I can’t blame them. I really expected better. The problem doesn’t seem too complicated solve..Version: 1.36.0

Very slow unusableVery slow does allow to search or create playlist.Version: 1.30.0

Lacks many songsIt lacks many songs and I end up using my account to play them to my kid. Just to clear: it is lacking A LOT of kids content..Version: 1.11.2

Good except a glitchIt was perfect for the kids until suddenly one day songs would only play on shuffle... I seem to be the only person with this problem tho.Version: 1.26.0

Singalong lyrics please!Hi - nice idea which we’re enjoying with our baby. But I want to be able to sing to her myself - is there a plan to put lyrics in the singalong section any time soon so we can sing along?.Version: 1.8

UmmmmI would give five stars if you made not premium only. I mean my daughter got so excited when she saw this app so I downloaded it not knowing you needed premium spotify its really stupid.Version: 1.31.0

Not working on IPod TouchHi, can you please look into why this isn’t working on my daughters iPod Touch 6th generation. It just comes up with something when wrong try again..Version: 1.12.0

ToddlerIt’s a great app but I’m 11 and all I get is little kid songs you might want to change it so parents control the little kid songs or bigger kid song, hope you add it!.Version: 1.35.0

Hard workMy phone gets really hot and chews through battery when using this app. The search is very ineffective..Version: 1.17.0

Designed only for very young kidsCan’t express how disappointed I am with the kids app. My son is 10, so I selected the option for ‘older kids’, but even this is pitched at up to age 5 max. Examples - even with the ‘older kids’ setting, the home page seems to assume that kids are only interested in the likes of nursery rhymes, Disney sound tracks and ‘calm classical music to aid sleeping’. And I can’t figure out how to edit the home page to make the tiles more relevant - the only way my son can find the music he actually likes listening to is to manually search for specific bands, and even then, the resulting playlists are presented with baby-ish names like ‘my first Queen’ (and using Queen as an example, the subset of their catalogue offered seems remarkably small). - we don’t seem to be able to access podcasts (and I get the sense that anything more advanced than nursery level content would have been filtered out anyway) I appreciate that different parents will take different views on what is / is not appropriate content for a 10 year old, but I feel that the level of filtering and the look and feel of the app has been designed for nursery level kids. Afraid I’m cancelling my family subscription and going back to having my son use my account and the normal app..Version: 1.32.0

Works wellIt’s a pretty good app, but the parental control settings are off, and I can see a lot of that in the other reviews. You need to be able to change them from the beginning, and mainly cut off all songs with bad words in them. I love listening to songs on this, and it really helps when I’m cleaning and want music, but… I mean it’s pretty good overall, but I’d make a few changes. I’d also recommend adding the ability to create playlists. Also, a few songs with no bad words in them, such as “ King “ By Lauren Aquilina ( I don’t know if I spelled this wrong ) is unavailable. This is all my fingers can handle for today, so good day..Version: 1.31.0

Is not compatible with Apple Watch, TV or CarPlay.Part of the whole point of this is to separate kid listening from my account. But this app only works on iPhone or iPad, neither of which my children have. It needs an Apple Watch, Apple TV and CarPlay versions of the app. Right now, if they play on Apple TV, they have to play from my account and I can’t listen to it in the car at the same time. It would also be helpful to switch to the CarPlay version of the app in the car. And kids my daughter’s age have Apple Watches but not phones so they should be able to listen to music on them like adults do. Also, this app isn’t great for different ages. You should be able to select what channels/playlists you/they want. My eleven year old doesn’t want lullabies or Disney Junior. The ability to share playlists is good..Version: 1.36.0

This is a good app but...I’ve found songs with swears in them that have managed to find their way into the app and the picture for the song is trolls. This is alarming because maybe there are more of these songs.Version: 1.12.0

No custom playlists or playing on a Bluetooth speakerI was hoping to use this app to put music on my kids Jooki speaker (a Bluetooth speaker designed for kids to control without screens) while I listened to my own content, but the app doesn’t seem to have the ability to create custom playlists with the songs they want, or to be able to find the Bluetooth speaker. It solves none of my problems. I’m stuck using my personal account to play stuff for them. The only thing this is good for (for me) is quickly locating some music that kids will like..Version: 1.24.0

More parental controlPlease make this so I can add songs/playlists from my account. We listen to a lot of different genres and I want my daughter to be able to listen to more than just your typical children's songs. I should be able to approve any song I’d like to from my account and share it with her. I can see making her ability to search limited, but as a parent I should also be able to approve songs/artists even if they aren’t typically available for kids..Version: 1.24.0

Why pay? Everyone deserves to listen to music! When I went in the app it instantly asks me to if I want premium and without premium you can’t do anything!.Version: 1.32.0

Lack of functionsAs a child myself, I thought I may aswell take time to write a review. Here are the Ups: 1.Good Design 2. Listen to stories (2-5 yr recommended) Here are the downs 1. Old music. Hello, where is the GOOD songs? NOBODY these days listens to shakira, and, really, we want Ariana Grande, Justin beiber, but, bruh, if the songs have swears put the clean version up. Simple 2.Poorly Executed. Nothing to say here. 3. Cant join family groups. You say you can, hmmmmmm I don’t think so. 4. 5+Wow. You think 10 year olds listen to baby shark. Really. Baby shark is for 5-. What can I say... my total score, like many others, is 1.5 stars. This app has to be improved dramatically..Version: 1.31.0

Needs A LOT of workJust reiterating a lot of what was already stated; the inability to cast to Google devices, alone, makes this app useless for my family. I can’t use any of the playlists I’ve already built for my children over the years. And the fact that the kids’ account(s) can’t even be it’s own entity is laughable. So even if I could cast their music, only one kid can listen to their music at a time. I pay for Premium but still have to share one account with 3 other children in my household. We shouldn’t need 4 separate emails hooked to 4 separate devices (which we don’t have) to all enjoy our separate content simultaneously. The playlists are hit or miss, but I’m a lot more lenient with the music my children listen to than others. I just wish it could be a more personalized and flexible experience overall..Version: 1.20.2

1 starHi i don't have Spotify since i'm too young which means i don't have a premium family account and i really wish i still could use it could you let another option? a free one that doesn't have to do with premium it could have ads and not as many songs as premium if you do this it would be greatly appreciated!.Version: 1.31.0

No songs I likeIt has no songs I actually like (accept for a few).Version: 1.34.0

Add better songsI’m 11 getting two year old songs. 😡 if people just want pop-stars and wheels on the bus 🚌 then they should get this but I want SOME variety in my music.Version: 1.36.0

Facebook login?I would like to use the app however there is no option to log in via Facebook, which is normally how I access my family account. Can you please add the option to do so?.Version: 1.8.1

Very basic compared to normal appThis app is for very young children. Maybe up to 5 years. Big downgrade from normal app. With this app my kids can’t use external speaker like google play. They can’t add albums or playlists, so audiobooks are very difficult to save - you have to safe each track and in the correct order to favorite folder. This is pain when each book has 20 tracks. I appreciate that it’s supposed to be safe for younger kids, but considering they are 6 and 9 and can’t use regular app (account age restriction) this is a real letdown. When they used my account they were able to listen to different audiobooks offline. I decided to upgrade to family plan so they don’t have to be offline on their devices all the time but it seems that I got myself to worse situation then before. A real let down. Please consider that kids in this age are not stupid and can do more complex things than just safe favorite songs to a single list..Version: 1.30.0

Worst app everThis is the worst app ever it has no good music only old boring music that no one likes if you want kids to like it then put high energy dance music on there. 0 out of 10 would never recommend to anyone..Version: 1.36.0

Why do we have to sign in?Why do we have to sign in? I don’t want to I want to listen to music without signing in That’s why I gave it a one star.Version: 1.31.0

MehOnly thing I like about this app is that when my kids use it they dont mess the algorithm for suggesting music up in my account. Well, any more than it already is. apart from that, it’s a boring walled garden of the same old songs and stories that my kids are already sick of. It lacks Spotify Connect which is bizarre. Pretty over Spotify tbh.Version: 1.36.0

It is a rip off of the real Spotify app that I haveIt is not as great as I thought it would be.Version: 1.36.0

RequestIt was a good app but my daughter is 11 and can’t find much songs. Would you be able to have a bit more older kid options. And would you be able to make a playlist not just my favourite playlist it’s getting annoying. Otherwise really good set up love the bright colours and the songs are great..Version: 1.33.1

No login via Facebook? How do I login without using my Facebook login?.Version: 1.0.1

Great idea. Poor executionReally like the idea of this, especially as Spotify’s main T&C’s won’t allow my 10 year old son to have his own account and it allows him to have his own independence away from my account. However, as his music choices don’t follow main stream music (he likes a lot of Indie bands) this is completely useless. As others have noted, it is extremely lacking..Version: 1.8.1

WHAT THE HECKIm 10 and i will give five stars once you make it not have to have premium.Version: 1.16.0

App is clearly not designed by parents...If we want to allow our child to listen to certain music that we approve of but want to shield him from music we don’t approve, then we should be able to set those options up from the beginning, not have only 2 age range options of terribly curated options that cannot be customized. Y’all have provided some highly inappropriate music in the ‘older kids’ grouping. It’s shocking. And yet, if my son wants to search his favorite college football team fight song or some other wholesome, harmless instrumental fun song it is nowhere to be found in the search function. What if I want to introduce them to the music of a different culture? What if I’d like to provide them with older generations of classics? There is a world of age appropriate music that is completely inaccessible with a lot of provocative content promoted and showcased in their face. Stop marketing garbage to kids. Stop pushing mature content on children. Stop curating what you think kids should listen to. Allow parents to curate and approve and create playlists, and allow children to request approval for certain music. Allow parents to block individual albums and/or songs. Allow parents to proactively review what’s available BEFORE having to go into the listening history and block content..Version: 1.16.0

No Facebook loginI have a premium account but have it set up to login using Facebook. Unfortunately this app doesn’t seem to account for that as there’s no Facebook login option..Version: 1.8

I didn’t even spend 30 seconds on it!This is TERRIBLE. I’m only young so I downloaded this app thinking “ Oh, cool I never new there was this app!” But to be honest, I wish I still didn’t know it existed. So, when I realised that you needed a “Family premium ,” or what ever I deleted this app STRAIT AWAY! I DO NOT recommend..Version: 1.30.0

Not worth the $$ yetThe fact you can’t play it via a nest hub or other voice controlled system is a big negative for parents with younger children which is the main reason we got the upgraded subscription. Wish that was explained first when I signed up. Now the kids have to use our main account to play music so no need to pay for the extra family plan. Also it appears to use the cool feature of rotating each family members playlist would require our children to have an emailed linked account which isn’t really possible so while the family plan advertises really cool features they may not be very practical for most families..Version: 1.28.0

Kids relaxing bedtime musicReally wish there was more relaxing music for kids bedtime. There only is a few that replay all night..Version: 1.31.0

Missing PodcastsWith my profile ending chocked up with my little one’s listening habits, I tried this app. He loves some podcast stories but we can’t get them on this app so it’s basically pointless for us..Version: 1.31.0

EhFirst when I saw this app I was excited and got it straight away. But, as soon as I got the app I realised it had a very limited amount of songs, that is a pain since most of the song that I like, isn’t even on here! Then there’s no point in my having the app..Version: 1.31.0

Almost pointlessThe list of playlists available is very limited which is frustrating when you’ve used a playlist on your own account for bedtime that isn’t in this list E.g. Disney Piano (not Disney Peaceful Piano which is available). The app also doesn’t connect to anything that isn’t AirPlay enabled so the smart speaker we use around the house. We use an Echo in the nursery to play lullabies and audiobooks for bedtime and nap times and now we can’t do this using this app. Therefore for modern households who incorporate these devices into their sleep routines this app is pointless. We wanted to not ruin our algorithm by playing kids content via smart speakers around the house but I guess we’ll have to keep doing that. Whilst this app is useful when you’re travelling and using a single device like a kids iPad it’s effectively pointless for sleep time routines or around the house use with multiple devices..Version: 1.35.0

Needs More VarietyI really loved the idea of this for my step-daughter but the issue is we don’t just listen to pop music and Disney in this house (though there is nothing wrong with that and we still love those tunes). I have playlists I make just for her with all kinds of fun electronic dance music and UK pop records. I would love to be able to share those playlists with her kids account so I still have control over the content but she is getting a better selection than just radio tunes and Disney soundtracks. Update to respond to developers: there is no perfect lineup because I don’t want pre-canned options. Parents should have the ability to share parent-approved playlists (read: playlists made my parents) and approve certain artists/albums/Spotify playlists for their kids. There are already parents in here who think the current pop content is too racy, so you’ll never win with a pre-made lineup..Version: 1.13.0

Needs more basic functionalityI like the idea of this app, the current functionality seems like cool additional features but really the core functionality I want is to be able to build a curated music library for my kid. The app needs a ‘My Library’ option that the parents can add songs/album/artists to..Version: 1.31.0

Needs playlists and Chromecast compatibalityWe’re changing to Duo - this app doesn’t justify the extra cost for as it’s so low on useful features e.g. playlists, search, ChromeCast compatibility..Version: 1.31.0

Good concept…I am a big fan of Queen, Bon Jovi, and FallOutBoy, so I was excited to see that they had profiles. Unfortunately, they only have a few songs on their pages. I understand that this app is trying to provide clean songs, but I think that instead of removing a song with swear words, the song could simply be a clean version, like on the radio. Otherwise, I don’t see many problems with the app..Version: 1.31.0

You have no songsTheir is no songs for a 12 year old girl like my sis.Version: 1.34.0

Inappropriate content!!!Does this sound appropriate for a preschool kids profile: “Cheated on my baby, you can go and ask her?” Horrible. Cultural standards vary widely? You said this music is hand picked for kids?! And this is in the “Younger Kids” section. So you guys hand picked this and decided that was appropriate for little kids in some cultures? I want a refund for the Family Subscription I only bought for this, plus you seriously need to check the music properly. I would love to be able to use the app again one day when it’s sorted, my son is super disappointed as he really got his hopes up then I had to stop him using it. Parents need to be able to relax knowing their kids are hearing ok stuff, which doesn’t just mean no swearing..Version: 1.10.0

BasicNo chrome cast support or support for google home?? Come on.Version: 1.28.0

Lacking in parental controlsOverall I am reasonably impressed. It has a bunch of prebuilt mixes that work well for children. However, I wish there were more parental controls. For example, I don’t really think Taylor Swift’s Shake it off is appropriate for a six year old, even if it is sung by children. It takes the Lords name in vain and says “hella”. Not something I want my child picking up on. If I could remove this song from the sets, that would be one thing, but I can’t. I’m limited to the prebuilt playlists without being able to change them. It’s a good first step and the idea is something I’ve wanted for a long time, but it’s clearly in its infancy with a lot of room for improvement. I hope it gets the chance to do so..Version: 1.11.2

Downloaded and instantly deletedMy husband is the family plan manager which makes it nearly impossible for me to add a playlist to the kids app because it's not recognizing my account as connected to the family plan from the app. I'd like to have some playlists set up for my daughter so that it doesn't mess with my recommendations on the regular app. There's no way to switch easily between accounts as far as I can tell on the regular app, and I'd love to have a way to play music for her, especially as she gets older. Why is this app lacking intuitive functionality? I get that it's meant to be minimal for kids but it's practically useless for their parents. Please allow both parents to be able to add playlists and not just the manager! And make it easier to do so!.Version: 1.31.0

Fix this pleaseI want to make my own playlist but I can’t cause I have to subscribe I can’t find it on youtube my sister is aloud to have the real Spotify I thought this would be helpfull but no I’m 11 and I litsen to music ALOT I want it to not have premium.Version: 1.31.0

It sucksIt sucks I’m 8 and it only gives me lullabies like what?.Version: 1.36.0

Looks great but no AlexaI’ve been waiting for this for ages but you can’t connect it to Alexa so it’s useless.Version: 1.8.1

Not goodCan only use this app if you have premium. No good. I’ll download my own kids songs, thank you very much!.Version: 1.30.0

I mean- its OK I guessOkay!sooo-I wanted to get this for my little brother- and, he was searching a BUNCH of songs up and none of them showed up but one Ed-Sheron song. He started just looking up random songs that he knows but only, like, two of them showed up. I mean- a parent could buy this for their 12-year-old kid and than there’s no songs he/she likes. I feel like there should be a button on settings that lets their parent/Guardian (or, in my case, the person that set up their account) conrols what their aloud to listen too. Or something like that- it just makes the music Viralitys bigger for their age/what their aloud to listen to. Thanks so much.Version: 1.26.0

Nicely designed but too limited to be really usefulI like the design of this app, vet child friendly, and touches like the character choice and fun playlists are good. Firstly, the music is far too limited. My 4 and 6 year olds enjoy lots of “grown up music”, e.g. but must of it is not available here even if family friendly in content. Eg foo fighters. Secondly, they are unable to join our “family mix”. Which means we can’t have a playlist for all the family without adding their likes to our own (parents) accounts. For these reasons, right now the app is more appropriate for sub 3 year olds in my opinion..Version: 1.9.1

Canadians: Do Not DownloadWhy is this even available on the Canadian App Store when Canadian Spotify account holders are immediately told upon sign in that this service is not available in their region..Version: 1.32.0

Bro what is this capI can’t listen to rap (MY LIFE) and I have to listen Taylor swift shake it off idiot songs.Version: 1.30.0

Missing anything goodOnly three songs from Matilda? Don’t bother, given them the full version..Version: 1.36.0

QuestionHi I have a question. I have just downloaded this game and it asks me whether I have a premium account (which I don’t) I’m wondering whether u need a premium account to play?.Version: 1.19.0

Lack of functionsIt’s great that my children can listen to songs on this app rather than cluttering up my playlists and recommendations with Disney songs. However, it’d be great if there was the option of shuffling songs, adding them to the play queue or using play next. It’d also be better if they had entire albums (soundtracks to children’s films) rather than just one or two songs..Version: 1.18.0

Need playlistThis app needs playlist because I used it and I had to heart every song I liked and I just wanted to sort The songs into playlist but there aren’t any playlist.Version: 1.32.0

SHUFFLE PLEASEI mostly enjoy this app even though I am way to old for it (14) my parents are just extremely strict. But I make playlists on my moms phone and share them to my account. The only problem that I face is THERE IS NO SHUFFLE BUTTON!! I really really want this shuffle option. I can’t imagine it’s that hard to add. The app could use a lot more improvement but I would really appreciate a shuffle option for my “favorite playlist” and for my shared playlists. PLEASE ADD!!.Version: 1.31.0

DisappointedI signed up for premium family just to get this, it turns out that the song selection is just a fraction of what is on Spotify, you can’t make playlists and there are no podcasts for kids. It seems to be made to cater to kids under age 5, but I think my 8-year old will be needing a regular account after all..Version: 1.36.0

HorribleThis app is supposed to be a kid- friendly version of Spotify itself. Firstly, if it’s ‘for kids’, why isn’t it free? Maybe some parents aren’t willing to pay money for an app- I don’t get why you have to purchase it. Secondly, I’ve been seeing a lot of reviews saying this app has inappropriate words and lines in the songs. I thought these songs for kids weird meant to be ‘hand picked’?! If so, you obviously didn’t check through the lyrics properly. One of my friends has Spotify Kids and they’ve told me a lot about the inappropriate lines in the songs… I don’t recommend Spotify Kids at all. It’s just the same as Spotify. Don’t use it. Hope this was useful. 👍.Version: 1.31.0

Excited but want moreI was so happy to have an account for the kid. However, I’d love to see more functionality- particularly an ability to make different playlists (other than just favourites). We still have to use my account for all the kid-friendly playlists I’ve created. I was hoping 2020 might be the year where “your year in review” is in fact all my tracks!.Version: 1.8

Shuffle Button?Would be better if my kids could shuffle their playlists. Love the option to share playlists we curate for them but the lack of shuffle button is very annoying!.Version: 1.31.0

HateI hate this app cause you need an family account to have it to listen to music.Version: 1.31.0

You can’t use it unlessYou have a Spotify premium account 🙁.Version: 1.14.0

You need a premiumYou need a premium account to pay to listen to this app you can just listen on the Original app for kids since I heard the lyrics are inappropriate for the next generation WHATS THE POINT to download this app then just use the original app.Version: 1.31.0

WHATHow is black pink for kids.Version: 1.31.0

Form over functionLooks pretty & easy to navigate. Unfortunately missing the ability for parents to add certain types of music for playback. And crucially, missing the ability to cast to Google Cast-compatible speakers (e.g Google Home). My bet is most kids don’t have Airplay 2 speakers in their bedrooms, but may well have an Echo or Google Home..Version: 1.27.0

No playlists.I bought the Family plan so that I could finally stop having kids music clogging my algorithm. But this app is frustratingly limited. I get that it’s meant for kids to browse but you can’t even create a playlist, a basic function of a music app. At the very least let us favorite certain artists or premade playlists. I know that parents can share playlists from their account but that defeats the whole purpose of keeping our music separate..Version: 1.31.0

A good MVPIt’s a good start to the app. The login options should be the same, so you don’t have to reset your password if you logged in via FB for example. If your not allowing access to playlists, there should be a way for parents to add content to their kids account from their playlists (many of us would have kids playlists already setup) also vice versa, be able to see kids favourites on parent account to add songs to their playlists.Version: 1.30.0

Doesn’t support SonosUnlike the main app, this does not support Sonos, which completely stops me using it. It can play to Sonos through Airplay, but this just doesn’t work well at all..Version: 1.36.0

Give parents controlI loved the idea of this, but would really love to see something where there aren’t pre selected things kids have access to. All I want in this app would be to be able to share specific artists, playlists, and kids podcasts my kids can have access to, and to see nothing else. This would give every parent the ability to choose what is appropriate for THEIR child. Love the idea, but ultimately I deleted the app because it doesn’t serve the purpose I want for my family. I don’t need pre selected things that others have decided are appropriate for my young children..Version: 1.36.0

I’m 11 and even I can tell it’s Booooring😞This app is clearly designed for 3 year olds as for me it only comes up with nursery rhymes and it’s really annoying. The only way to find the right songs is to type in the search bar and it takes me ages. 1/5 😭.Version: 1.32.0

Needs offline playlistsWhile I appreciate the ability to favourite songs that can be played offline, this doesn’t help with my need. Ideally I’d be able set certain playlists to play offline (like the regular app). We have a tablet in the baby’s room (WiFi won’t reach) and need to play either ‘bed time lullabies’ or ‘nursery rhymes’ depending on time of day. Can’t do that very well with the kids app..Version: 1.30.0

It’s not going for meI want this app but you have to have family premium I don’t have a email what do you expect kids to have email like what the heck.Version: 1.23.0

I should have read reviews first...This app is practically useless. First, there are two separate age-groups used to classify music and no good way to customize them so my five year old, who likes music in both categories, can only listen to some of what he likes at a time. Please let us set up the filter. Additionally, there is no ability to bring in music that wasn’t pre-selected, leaving out a lot of what our kids like. The app feels more like a cash grab, requiring 2-year olds to have a separate account, rather than just allowing for parent-controlled content. I know it’s still early but I’m extremely disappointed in the app. It does not feel like much thought was put into it. I’m hopeful it will improve but not optimistic..Version: 1.14.0

Needs better connectivity with other hardwareUnlike the main app this can’t be used with Sonos or Apple CarPlay. That’s quite limiting and in fact encourages kids to be using smartphones and tablets even more, which isn’t a good idea..Version: 1.8

Why just whyOverall it has some good music, the thing is my parents put me as older kid which I am but when I got on I searched a song that I used to have on my playlist that had not cuss words no bad theme to it but it still wasn’t on there. It made no since we need more variety we can’t have kiddie songs that are on older kids and how much you want to bet almost all older kids don’t listen to Disney music. I’m going on thirteen soon and I love Backstreet Boys but they only have three of there songs and most of them are clean and don’t have a bad theme. You just need more of a variety..Version: 1.15.0

50-59It’s an ok app just you should add different age group settings. I’m 12 and all I get 2 year old songs😕.Version: 1.24.0

UselessWith a wildly limited list of songs available this app couldn’t be more useless. Unless your kids just want to listen Katy Perry or something, there is not much here. I then found out that you can share playlists you’ve created for your child using the app, however these won’t work offline and there is not option to download (heart) these songs unless they are in the extremely limited selection already available..Version: 1.32.0

MehI thought it was every type of music!!!.Version: 1.22.0

No easy sharingI have had Spotify Premium for years and finally downloaded this app and switched my account to Premium Family after the main app has been nagging me for a while, to get the kids music out of my library. I am very disappointed to see that I can’t even easily get my child’s favorite music into the kids app now, as it is heavily censored. Nowhere did it say that if I switched to Family my kids wouldn’t have access to the whole catalog, without creating my own playlists. Based on my experience with another popular streaming app, I would have expected a simple “Share with kids” option..Version: 1.36.0

First thing they say: PAYI dont want to pay.Version: 1.31.0

Can’t castGood idea, I like the suggestions and the playlist but I can’t believe I can’t cast with google home/cast/nest etc , please developers add this feature please please. Thanks let me know.Version: 1.12.0

Lacking in music choices.I paid more for premium family so my kid could have his own playlists (on my phone since he doesn’t have his own device) and not screw up my algorithm however there are hardly any songs available for what he was listening to. In what world do adults need access to infinite Parry Gripp and Minecraft soundtracks but the kids get only a few of those songs to choose from ?? These are KIDS songs. I am going to cancel my premium account and buy my kid his own Pandora..Version: 1.28.0

Such a ScamU have to have dum Spotify premium app such a rip!!!!.Version: 1.19.0

Don’t get this app for kids and don’t waste your moneyI tested this out and as soon as I went into this app it asked me to pay No wonder there are so many bad reviews and I’ve heard the music is so out of date fr this #### is not for the next generation like what the #### is that music from 2001 lying to costumers.Version: 1.36.0

Missing crucial info…time!Good concept but none of the songs or stories tell you how long they go for. I set the kids up listening to stories but some are less than 5 minutes. Easy fix would be to add the time like every other music listening app that has ever been created. Why would this even be left off???.Version: 1.34.0

BAD LOGINDIDINT ACCEPT MY PASSWORD AND WEN I PRESS LOGIN WITH NO PASSWORD IT SAID TRY AGAIN LATER NOW HERE I AM A H 1 hour LATER AND NOTHING.Version: 1.34.0

Poorly developed app for kidsThis version is missing many features of the original app, in particular no way to download music makes this app completely useless on a plane..Version: 1.32.0

Not badIt does not work with some wifi..Version: 1.36.0

Premium songsSometimes when I get on it Tries To Premium and I can not go back and I can some of the songs I want.Version: 1.31.0

Just pleaseI’m begging to have this for free my parents hate subscriptions because there (cheep skates) and all my friends are using it so why can’t I tell me I dare you.Version: 1.31.0

The priceWhen i downloaded this app it annoyed me you see…. I had made a family premium account I logged in and it wouldn’t leave the dumb page so I subscribed it did the same it is a scam!.Version: 1.31.0

I don’t really injoy it but..My brother is 2 and he loves it 😋🤪.Version: 1.14.0

Not fit for purposeOnly one adult (plan manager) can log into the kids app. We are a two parent family - it would be good to be able to allow another member to log in. Our child doesn’t have their own device so we play music for them from our own. A poor user experience..Version: 1.23.0

Not impressedLet’s just say out of all of the emojis this one represents my feelings on this app 😒.Version: 1.30.0

AwfulSuch limitations. Unable to even sign in. The website is no better.Version: 1.36.0

Not available everywhereI’m a Canadian and I can’t enjoy it because it doesn’t work for other countries 😡😡😡😡😕😕😕please see if you can fix thanks 🙏🏽.Version: 1.36.0

Music suggestions are hit and missIn terms of functionality, the app seems fine but there are clearly some bugs in the algorithm that generates the playlists. The app suggested songs by Whitney Houston and Lil Nas among others that are a long way from Playschool and the Wiggles which is what we usually listen to..Version: 1.8.1

DisappointingGreat app potentially, but without carplay or sonos integration it’s useless to me and i presume a lot of others!.Version: 1.36.0

Not enough songs😢Most playlist and we have 1-100 song when the person/band has about 1000..Version: 1.19.0

Sooooo babyishWaaaay to many restrictions I can only listen to baby songs like bah bah black sheep have you any whole and twinkle twinkle little star and idiotic songs by idiots like jojo joly So like add some explicit songs like songs by Ricky desstop sorry if i spelled that wrong add an update.Version: 1.31.0

Not enough songsNo songs.Version: 1.31.0

Doesn’t work don’t getThis app doesn’t let you have it unles you have family premium boo.Version: 1.31.0
