FreeStyle Libre 2 - US for Positive User Reviews

Love it!I have been using Libre 2 for a year, and I have been able to reduce my A1C level significantly. I have been able to get off of all but 1 of my meds, and I hope to be able to reduce the dosage after I have my labs done and meet my doctor in 9 days. The numbers are not the same as testing it the old fashion way, and it was explained to me that there is a lag between the testing methods, so I stick my finger once a week to be confident that the readings are close. About a year ago, I had a heart attack and had a stent placed on my heart. I knew my A1C was high and could never track what the foods were doing to sugar levels. It makes a difference to take the reading at any time or place and know what triggers my numbers to rise. Not has this helped to lower my A1C, it has also helped me to lose 55 pounds too!.Version: 2.7.2

Fantastic app!I’ve been using the app for 10 days. It is phenomenal. I’m dumbfounded by the poor reviews and have to chalk them up to lack of familiarity or training in how to use the app. If I could, I’d give the app 6 stars. The ability to scan as much as desired to see the effects of different meals or fasting is extraordinary. Or, you prefer to scan less, the monitor stores the last 8 hours of data. Being able to set target ranges and custom alarms is easy and effective. If you are a diabetic, get this free app and use it. You don’t need a separate reader. Just use your phone. See daily, weekly or quarterly data. View average glucose levels to determine immediately how your equivalent A1C levels are trending and so much more! The only caution is that rarely, but sometimes, it doesn’t scan the first time. Simply tap the scan symbol and try again. A very minor inconvenience once in a while. This app has changed my life in only 10 days..Version: 2.7.2

Love It!The alarms are the whole purpose for having this system! I’m diabetic and I’m hypoglycemic. My glucose level drops randomly and unexpectedly. I love how the app immediately lets me know when my glucose is dropping! I also appreciate how it continues to monitor and lets me know if it’s still in a range set as too low. It helps me gauge how much I need to do in order to improve my glucose level. I think this is the best for diabetics! It goes off at work and immediately gets my coworkers’ as well as my supervisor’s attention. They instantly check on me to make sure that I’m ok. My husband has his ears tuned to the alarms so he’ll know to check on me and to administer whatever help I need! I have no complaints about the Freestyle Libre 2 because it does what it is designed to do and that is to keep me in good health! Great job, Abbot! I look forward to the 3!.Version: 2.7.2

Better them the old reviews!Been using it for a month. Was initially disappointed to read old reviews. Clearly they have made great improvements via updates. I have not had any significant issues with the App on a IPhone Pro Max 13. My reads are great and take them as often as needed or wanted. It is the best historical and accurate data that is available on the app and available for my Dr and NP to access. It has already removed some guesswork in treatments leading to better dosing of insulin. Easy to spot and see the data in ways I have never seen before. My average daily/weekly glucose is down 13 and I have lost 3 pounds in 30 days by eating better and not chasing my numbers. The alarms do as they should in alerting high but more importantly low for those with hypoglycemic unawareness. It is a blessing to wake up in the middle of night when going low and no longer becoming altered and unsafe. I give it a 5 vs a 4 because of the true benefits and knowing mfg will continue to improve. I am feeling better, am much safer and finally able to take greater control in managing my diabetes..Version: 2.7.2

Better than expectedI see a lot of complaints about the very loud and intrusive alarm. As an Uber driver, that was a deal breaker for me, too, but I’ve found my workaround. If you go (on an iPhone) Into Settings/Notifications/Libre2/ Critical Alerts, you can temporarily turn them off. I get that it’s there to help people not go into critical blood sugar events, but jobs are jobs. I also have to turn off Bluetooth when driving since if it is on, all apps quit “talking” and I miss driving prompts. So, I scan, turn off critical alerts, turn off Bluetooth, drive a ride or two, turn them back on, and scan again. The prompts still quietly appear on the screen. I’d prefer a one step Work or Drive mode that does that for me, but maybe it can be considered for future upgrades. Despite that, it’s useful, much more practical than the handheld device, and allows my clinicians to see my data in real time for med corrections. I also don’t have always be at my desktop and uploading the meter (and charging the meter) so I love the convenience of that. Overall? I’m confident my next A1C is going to be significantly better thanks to the information this app constantly provides..Version: 2.7.2

Needs this feature addedI have not had the opportunity to use the Libre 2 yet, I’m waiting on my next Doctors appt so he can write the RX for it. But I’ve been using the Libre 14 day for a long time now, so this isn’t so much a review but more of an observation and a recommendation. The app needs to work on the Apple Watch in conjunction with the iPhone. The previous reviewer complained about not being able to hear the alerts. If a user could get those alerts on their Apple Watch either by sound or vibration it would be very beneficial. My iPhone pretty much lives in my back pocket or a cargo pocket on my leg and there have been many times even with the loudest alerts I would have missed a call or text if it hadn’t been for me wearing my Apple Watch. So from a longtime Libre user and future Libre 2 user please develop an update that allows the Apple Watch to display the information the phone is receiving from the sensor. I promise you customers will love it..Version: 2.7.1
