Travel docs section not Allen’s availableI have downloaded and deleted the app multiple times and I am only getting three items on the travel documents list. I am unable to upload my passport details, insurance etc. I’m going on a cruise in less than 2 weeks and I am getting frustrated and scared that I will miss something and will be unable to board due to the failure of the app. Friends that I have travelled before have a list of about 10 items, and I only have security photo, profile picture and PIN..Version: 3.3

Extremely slow & wouldn’t saveWas filling out personal information and forms. Took an unusual amount of time to load. Wouldn’t save my passenger contract. Wouldn’t save my passport info. Clicked through to help and support, but found no texting option, and couldn’t click on or copy the phone numbers it provided! I had to write down the phone number on paper to call them! Very frustrated and disappointed with the pre-voyage experience due to this app 😡.Version: 4.0

Simply unable to load anythingAustralia - This app simply does not work. Regardless where I am and what wifi I am on it just keeps running and running without loading anything. I have removed the app and reinstalled it twice now with no luck. Very annoying..Version: 4.8.1

TerribleThe most woefully slow app I have ever used. Every selection is delayed by a loading page lasting anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds, rendering the app unusable. It was impossible to complete the cruise checkin using this app, so we will be doing it the old fashioned way on arrival at the ship! I sure hope we don’t have to use this app onboard! I didn’t believe the reviews…But they were right. The features of this app are great, but they work less than half of the time. I’m on a cruise now and you have worse than casino odds of getting the feature you want to work, without a frozen loading screen or an error message. I try to use the wall screens around the ship, but they are a 50/50 shot of working as well and you have limited features in them. The feature I want most is locating my shipmates. The app almost never works. The wall screen do more, but most of the time don’t. I celebrate like I won a jackpot of either work. This app needs serious help and from other reviews, it seems this has been going on a while. Nice try Carnival/princess to sell to the younger crowd, but now you are frustrating us and that can be dangerous on the App Store. Get working on it!.Version: 4.1

Keeps freezing, won’t accept dining bookings!It took hours to input basic info because of constant freezing. Tried reloading the app but no difference. Have to use the app for dining bookings because Princess have disabled the option on the website only to find it wouldn’t allow speciality dining bookings. Tried ringing for support several times but gave up after more than 30 mins of irritating sales messages, sent an email but no response. Temperamental AppI have never known an app to be so temperamental. One day it lets me log in, the next day it doesn’t. There is nothing wrong with my password as the following day it logs me in! One day it tells me my booking reference is attached to my profile, even though it isn’t showing up in the app, and the next day it tells me my booking reference is invalid. My husband and two travel companions are having the same issues - this app is a nightmare! If Princess want us to use it they need to fix it..Version: 3.9.1

Mr JPMy wife and I have been trying for 2 years to get this working correctly. It loads correctly shows all the cruises that we have booked but that all. Whenever you attempt to add any information on travel checklist it just gives you a blank white screen. Have emailed and telephone princess uk and USA but so far no one has been able to fix it. Last 2 cruises we had to revert to the old way of form filling at the port. Which by now the staff have forgotten how to do this ! How I wish someone would contact us and resolve it !!!.Version: 3.7

FrustratingAbsolutely useless. I am an Elite passenger and have paid in full and cannot book dining. I have a trouble report in and have called the Ocean Medallion line. No resolution. Rubbish app doesn’t workNothing I try to do with this app works. I try to select my Medallion, it tells me I don’t have a booking linked DESPITE the first page telling me there are 41 days until my cruise. I try to link the booking and I just get a blank white screen and have to restart the app. Try to select a boarding group and it doesn’t work and now the boarding groups I wanted have filled up. Horrible appTrying to do everything to prep for my trip in 3 months and one day it kind of works and another day it doesn’t one day I get to where I want to order my medallion and set my preferences I am met with a blank white screen and then I am trying to get my mom dads, roommate and other friends medallions, to pay for tours etc and am met with same issues. I cannot order the medallion or do anything on the app. Now I pull it up and it shows my room and info but won’t let me do much more then it says I have no access to my booking number on one page and then the next page shows it is attached. I am Over this..last trip on princess in 2017 I was asked to download a similar looking app it said beta on it and test it while I was on the ship And give them feedback I had a lot of the same issues I am having with the actual app and it seems it has not been updated or fixed. Personally offended by this appI’ve had awful apps on my phone but this takes the cake for the absolute worst app I’ve ever used. The tracker doesn’t work, ordering food and drinks to anywhere other than your room doesn’t work, NOTHING WORKS. You go to the Internet cafe on the ship and they just tell you to sign out and sign back in again. The tracker not working really made travelling with my 82 year old grandfather impossible as we’d lose each other for hours at a time with no way of finding each other. The app and wifi alone is enough for me to say NEVER TRAVEL WITH PRINCESS just because it causes such a headache and makes sea days a misery.Version: 4.1

Still needs more workUnfortunately my wife was unable to log in to the app for our entire four week cruise. As she is the primary account holder, that meant we could not check our stateroom accounts via the app. The IT team on board tried very hard to get the login working, and contacted Princess several times but to no avail. Just awful - Princess need to sort this out!I can only echo the fact that this latest version released a day ago is even worse than the previous one. You can’t link bookings, previous information isn’t there. Princess/Carnival you need to sit up and take notice of this. When I try to call for support, your teams are understaffed and inexperienced. Waited on the phone for over an hour to speak with someone at Princess regarding the issue. They went through all of the obvious with me. No resolution. After almost an hour on the phone I was told my issue was being escalated to “CMS.” “Okay… so what should I expect from CMS” asked. I was told to expect an Email. When? “Well it could take up to ten days.” Well ten days has come and gone. No email from CMS. The Email I have received from Princess, “Emergency notification. Download the medallion app to complete all required check in items.” I think I may scream. I need a vacation to recover from getting ready for my vacation. Come on Princess get your act together. Unresolved problemsI have written to Princess many times concerning their website. The last time on September 7, 2021, I wrote to the email address indicated by the people who respond to these complaints. I canceled my last cruise due to Covid issues. Booked a new one recently and again opened medallion. For some reason rather than starting from scratch they re-populated the website with previous information but only partially. Even with the first cruise I could not correct information in the personal information segment. The save button just stays gray. Cannot access my existing photos on their photo portion, cannot add or change photos. Same problem with the second cruise. Last week I again sent them an email and got a reply they will fix it closer to the cruise date? It’s really hard to believe that a major cruise line cannot fix their computer problems or at least reply,With an fix ,in less than a week?.Version: 3.2.1

Incompetent and RecklessLook at how many times they release fixes for defects. They have such a backlog of critical defects that they have to release every few days. Our defects can literally kill people. Multiple supervisors have it on their desks. And they haven’t addressed it. Bad design. The use cases are not intuitive. I could only figure out what they were because I come from an app services background and can visualize what a nascent app, convenient for the developer would feel like. Once I figured out where the feature was, it didn’t work. We have had to call I tech support numerous times with similar experiences. For example, once after an hour on hold, they said it’s a known issue so I should wait in line to do it on the ship, and hung up before I had a chance to finish my question. Overall, don’t look at the average rating. Go by the ratio of the most recent ratings that are one star..Version: 3.1.4

Good concept, terrible executionThis app has a lot of issues, and it’s not just problematic in Australia. We took a cruise from the UK to Norway and everyone onboard complained about the app. Our onboarding status went from green to yellow without explanation, and then failed to load. Onboard it was worse; we had to repeatedly kill the app and reconnect wifi to get it to load properly, and even then it probably worked about one time in ten. Even when it does work, there are a tonne of poorly designed screens — most notably the activities planner. Princess, kudos for trying to make an app for your cruises, but this one needs a LOT more development to fix the problems..Version: 4.1

Atrocious AppAt the risk of repeating what the vast majority of reviewers are saying, this app is truly atrocious. There is so much wrong with it and I’m staggered a company like Princess/Carnival seem content to have it out there damaging their brand name. Does no one in management read these reviews or are they fooled by the headline rating of 4.5, which is impossible given the preponderance of 1-star reviews? I’ve been trying to use the app to enter simple but essential information in advance of a December 2033 cruise. The log in is totally hit and miss to begin with. Even when you can access it (sometimes at the third of fourth attempt), whether it accepts or stores the information you enter is hit and miss too. It’s now the only way to pre-book speciality dining, which we like to do, but as a UK customer at least, it simply won’t let you complete a reservation. Tried it myself and with our travel agent, neither of us could make it work and eventually I rang up Princess to make the bookings by phone. The idea may be good, but the app is a piece of rubbish, poorly thought out, poorly designed and clearly not tested with people that have to use it. We’ve cruised a lot over many years, with many cruise lines (including Princess) and never had much trouble making what should be simple arrangements. As others have said, if this is the future with Princess it would put us off using them again..Version: 4.6

So unstable and glitchyI love sailing with Princess and have no issue with the company to travel with. The app however is unstable and super glitchy. Now that it is the only way to address all of the admin requirements before your holiday, it makes the fact that it’s so unstable even more frustrating. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app so many times and I am simply trying to get all of the pre-holiday requirements completed. Every time that I go to do this, it greets me with an error message saying that “There seems to be an issue with this service”. I am directed to call in about it but knowing how long it can take to get through it’s not something that I readily have time to do. Lots of glitchesWhilst the app is sometimes very functional, at other times it has numerous glitches. I have gone from being in the green lane to blue through no fault of mine. Everything is checked as completed! The app is letting some passengers choose arrival times, but I cannot. Had trouble changing my ID photo but after weeks that seems to have resolved itself. This Is Not An App - It is an Exercise In FrustrationI booked 2 cruises with Princess in the past 2 weeks. I am a Platinum level Captain’s Circle Member. I choose Princess over other cruise lines I have taken, including Cunard, Viking, Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Having said that, this new app that appears to be required for almost all aspects of pre-boarding is absolutely the worst app I have ever used. Let me give you a few examples: For 3 days now I have been trying to just get a login ID because I don’t want to have to continue to use my booking number just to access the information. Every time I have tried to load the information for obtaining a login ID I get a “server down error”. So, no email ID sign-in is available to me. The app says it will send you a sign-In Password reset email. I have sent 4 requests for that over 2 days…still waiting for the email on any of 3 emails I use. There is no page that provided support information either. I had to go on the internet to get the support email. Still waiting for that response 24 hours later. So, now I can’t even get in with my booking number. I get some stupid connection error message. If I were in charge at Princess I would fire the app developers, return to the old online system, and sue the developers not only for breach of contract, but for ruining the company reputation and goodwill..Version: 3.8

The most frustrating thing about cruising is this APpPrincess has forced this on its customers even though a great many are of the age where technology is challenging. However I am not of that age and have always been known as the techs one….so far this cruise it’s told me I am not on the ship…..( someone at the boarding desk put my date of birth in incorrectly)…it’s refused to connect, it’s told be I haven’t bought 4 devise internet when the on board account clearly says I have and it worked for 2 days…both the medallion desk and the condescending internet manager told me the 3 problems have ‘NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE” and that they are “NOT INTER LINKED” ….grrrr…..this wretched app has actually spoilt much of our cruise because we couldn’t book activities or see what was going …it’s delivered drinks to the wrong place or not at all..Version: 4.0

HopelessCannot input my details in order to get everything ready for my forthcoming cruise. The App allows me to log in using my booking number but then then the cruise is not there for me to continue. When I click to link the booking to my name get the message that it is already linked. AppallingThis app is the worst app I have ever used by any cruise line or any other organization EVER!! It will not let me add a second booking or enter a credit card and without those I cannot proceed. I have spent hours a day for weeks and weeks trying to get someone to help and fix it but so far I am exactly where I started. I am ready to cancel two suite 14 day cruises. I cannot believe that princess have not scrapped this terrible app and gotten in a bunch of new people who actually know how to write implement and maintain the app properly. This is ridiculous as the clock ticks away to my vacation with no help in sight and whenever you call it takes at least 45 minutes to get through to anyone and then to be transferred and transferred from department to department with no help. If it wasn’t for the fact that this is the only way to enter required information I would delete it completely. I have rebooted tried it on iPad reinstalled it tried the web version and nothing g works. App issues. No supportWhen I originally set up the app with my booking number back in February, the app worked. It showed the ship and cabin number. Since the. Princes changed ships from the Ruby to the Royal. Princes sent us a new booking number with the updated shop and cabin number, but the app still shows the old ship and cabin number. If I logout and log back in with the new booking, it still shows the old information. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it logged in with the new booking number and still incorrect. I even dug out an older phone that never had the Princess Medallion app on it. I installed the app and logged in with the new booking number. Still has the old information. There is no way in the app to change booking numbers. I have made multiple calls to customer support and my husband called today. Still no resolution. I even emailed support with the address I saw in the developers comments and have gotten no response. Buggiest software I’ve encounteredI’ve spent 30 years in software development. I’ve held every position including coding, testing, releasing, and managing highly productive software teams at the executive level. This app is, hands down, the buggiest, most poorly performing app I have encountered with a major corporation’s public-facing interface. The App kept giving me the error “Must wait until it is closer to your departure” every time I tried to use it to book entertainment or dining. Now that we are on board, we found out that all reservations are full as others used alternative methods to book their reservation. Now that we are on board, the app only hangs. I’m ve been told to delete and redownload the app (for the 3rd time) by the on-ship support person. It has been 1/2 a day and the app still won’t download. If this is Princess’s flag ship software, I might have to find another cruise line to spend my vacation money with..Version: 3.9.1

Constant bugsThis app is not only extremely slow & clunky to use, but also full of bugs - there are so many things I’m supposed to fill out that it simply won’t let me open. When I am able to enter things, sometimes it takes 3+ minutes to save them, and sometimes I come back and they aren’t there anymore. It’s absolutely awful to use. Really disappointingI always wondered what happened to the Windows ME development team. The app appears to simply be a wrapper for a poorly designed web application. It’s laid out with the logic of distracted 3 year old recounting their day. On land with a decent internet connection it’s marginally responsive but at sea it’s as sketchy as 20 year old white van parked outside an elementary school. It has more bugs than cheap motel mattress and when things go wrong the error messages are as vague as a White House press statement. For example, at sea when certain features are not available it simply says an error occurred rather than stating the feature is not available which leads to a tremendous amount of frustration. Also, it appears the back end for some features are hosted on ship and are reasonably responsive while others are dependent on the ships dial up speed internet connection. I’m not sure why it wasn’t designed with a local server and back end synchronization. There also seems to be some primary key and referential integrity issues with the database. I think that this app is an attempt to prove that enough chimps with typewriters and enough time can write Shakespeare..Version: 4.10

Truly awful how did it get 4.5 stars?I have been using this rubbish app since it was introduced, and back then if you complained Princess would just say it was teething problems. It’s still happening some years later. Everybody on board the ships acknowledges that it doesn’t work properly. I would hope that whoever is in charge of delivering this gets the contractor or whoever is writing it to fully test the app and solve the problems. Princess will undoubtedly be losing customers because of it. The app locks up constantly and if you can get it to work at all it’s clunky and on one of the pages it refers to property type and not ship type! Has no one even clicked on each page to check it!? This would appear to be a modified buildings app done on the cheap. Does no one test it before releasing it? Other cruise lines run by carnival have perfectly good apps which work so why hasn’t this been sorted yet!!!? I have had two ‘ghost cruises’ appear on the app so far in the last 12 months which I haven’t booked and when I enquire with Princess I’m just told to ignore them. Unbelievable! Passengers have to do everything with the app now so it needs to work properly, what was wrong with doing it on the web? I cannot see what benefit this app is to passengers at all! Come on Princess this is rubbish. If I could give the app a zero I would and that would be generous..Version: 4.4.1

Princess mediallion appThis app ia the worst app I have ever tried to use, I say tried as using it is very trying, not to Cruising on Princess or other lines, if I did not know better I would think that it was written and supported by their competition as a way of driving customers away from Princess. the app is frustrating to use and if there was an alternative the method I would use it . The IOS app on Ipad is a waste of my time problem is the windows version is difficult to install and not functional. App doesn’t work- UpdateApp still hasn’t been fixed. My booking number doesn’t exist most of the time. When it does decide I have a valid booking number, it populates the wrong ship and sail dates. It appears the database of cruises isn’t accurate. I’ve verified my booking number several times with both my travel agent and Princess. We leave in less than a month and still no one wants to help. Not only is the app useless, the customer service is terrible. Everyone I spoken to hasn’t helped and been less than eager to help me. I’m tired of being told I need to be patient. Update: app still hasn’t been fixed. It says my cruise has been cancelled so I can’t complete my registration yet when I contact Princess they say it isn’t cancelled. Not sure how to complete all the paperwork as this is the ONLY option they’ve made available to our group. Makes me not want to cruise with them. I downloaded the app to prepare for an upcoming cruise. Was instructed to do this on my cruise confirmation. The app doesn’t work. It brings white pages with no information. Then I close the app down and reopen. This time it was my cruise is x number of days away which is accurate but when I try to select dining, room options or medallion it says my cruise is cancelled. Yet I’m able to book excursions on the website. I have NO confidence in this app. Yet I have to use it for this cruise..Version: 3.9.1

Terrible appWithout a doubt, the worst app I have experienced. The app has not worked properly since June 28, 2021. I have called repeatedly for support. Technical support has been impossible. Initially I was told there were limited problems for very few passengers. The problem would be corrected in 48 hours. That was nine months ago. In February 2022 I was told by a Medallion technical support person there were so many tickets being submitted to correct problems the system was overloaded. I was told technical support was working on known problems for those who had upcoming cruises in ten days or less. I received an email from Medallion support a week before my cruise that my account had been corrected. After testing for both my wife and me, logging on with an email account and a booking confirmation number, on iPhone and iPad and laptop I am worse off now than a week ago. Most screens go completely white or tell me I do not have a Journey. If I try to link a booking number, the app tells me I am already linked. My cruise is in four days, and I can’t complete required screens. We have two other cruises for which I can’t complete some or any information. Simply unusableI have a cruise in just a few weeks. It departs on December 4th. I have found your app to be barely, and I do mean barely useable. Sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes in the middle of attempting to complete my travel checklist, it will “boot” me out, and say that I have no upcoming reservations, which I most certainly do have. When the app DOES load, it shows my wife and I, but I can’t even complete selecting our medallions, or completing the document checklist. Perhaps there is maintenance on your servers this evening. I certainly hope that is the case, but I am VERY concerned this app is buggy and will be more a cause of aggravation than a source of delight on our cruise. Both my wife and I use iPhone 13 Pro, running both the latest version of your app. I even trekked deleting the app, restarting my iPhone and reinstalling it…all to no avail. Sadly this app is useless!Having just returned from a Princess cruise I thought this app needed a review! It’s slow! Activities took an age to load! Easier to check the daily planner left in the room! I tried to order a drink using the app which took so long to turn up I went to the bar! Didn’t bother using that facility again! On a number of occasions it wouldn’t load because it thought I was off of the ship! And on one occasion it said that my cruise had finished! Over bloated, hanging, buggy that needs a light weight versionIt is a 550+ megabyte app that is supposed to do everything from ordering your services to chatting to even locating your friends,so-called ‘shipmates’. However most of the time the app that is supposed to be connected to the ships Wi-Fi network while at sea hangs waiting for data. We have spent so much time looking at the “loading…”status screen that we have given up using it after a few times. The idea is good but the implementation is very bad. There are lots of fancy graphics but like I said most of the function don’t work work and even if they do, the ships network or the server behind this, responds very poorly. Worst of all, there is no backup or lightweight browser version so you must use this app. We ended up using the terminals in the elevator areas but those only have limited functions compared to this app. I strongly suggest Princess Cruises does a lightweight version or a browser version if in case this one does not work and it has not been working properly thank you.Version: 4.3

Lots of crashing, activities timeline is a massive battery drainerI know a lot of cruise goers aren’t tech savvy and I can only imagine how much of a nightmare this app is for them, but as someone who’s very tech savvy it’s still difficult to use due to the constant freezing and crashing. After reading other recent reviews I’m happy that I at least was able to get my boarding information input successfully, but when I’m navigating through the app I frequently experience frozen loading windows that end up requiring closing and reopening the app, and whenever I go into the activities timeline my phone starts to heat up and my phone’s battery starts draining rapidly. I’m sure this is related to being on an older iPhone 8, but it’s on the latest iOS version and I’ve only experienced one other app that caused a similar issue, I’m fairly sure it’s the ship graphic that causes this and either removing that or at least giving an option to view a more basic version of the timeline would really help people using older phones. It’s pretty baffling to me that so much of the cruise experience is handled through an app that is as poorly designed as this one, Princess really needs to acknowledge and make improvements based on other recent reviews, not sure how they can expect people to keep booking cruises with them when they’re required to use this poorly designed app for so much of the process..Version: 3.6

App crashes regularly and is slow as a wet week…I have an iPhone, and I have attempted to complete the necessary pre-boarding via the medallion class app, so many times. It either crashes midway through the process, or keep advising the checklist etc is loading. So far I have only managed to completed 1/2 the pre-boarding info, for myself. Then I need to complete for my 82 year old mother also. It’s frustrating, and the creators of this app should be fired..Version: 4.9

Slow, buggy and difficult to connectJust used this on Sky princess and was probably one of the worst experiences of the entire cruise. Everytime it was mentioned all the passengers groaned. App didn’t load properly most of the time, the timeline of the ships view was difficult to navigate (you have to scroll both up and down as well as left to right), things took forever to load or respond and constantly crashed. No wonder they’ve resorted back to printing the princess patter days activities again cos people hate the app so much. Great concept. Poorly executed for the sake of cuteness and graphics..Version: 4.1

Useless AppI have been sent an email from Princess telling me to fill in the mandatory health questionnaire at least 24 hour’s before departure using this app. What a joke when you can not do anything on it as stated below. Not a thing is done to improve the app. Princess Cruises should sort this out. This really a bad App that you have to use to check in. It will not let me do anything now it goes to a blank white screen and you have to close it down then restart the app, or it says you do not have any journeys, Select link to add one. Just the app, not the cruise-The app is not intuitive. It requires a lot of work and familiarity to understand. - Locating shipmates and locations: this is a great feature. But the Internet on the ship is so slow that if the person moves, it doesn’t update to the new location in the app. Also, when you tell the app to “take you there”, it doesn’t update as you move (again, due to the Internet speed) which just leaves a green line that never adjusts to your new location and makes traveling the different decks difficult if you aren’t familiar already. - Ordering food and drink: only use the app or in-person requests. Any packages or discounts aren’t applied in your stateroom television. Also, the app “updates” when the food is being prepared, Enroute, or delivered. But these updates are timed and don’t show the actual progress of food. Twice the app said the food was delivered when nothing was given to us. The second time I called room service for an update after 40 minutes of waiting for our Lunch. They said it was on its way and hung up. My wife and I waited another 30 minutes before giving up and going to the buffet instead. - it is required for the cruise. It doesn’t really matter what it is rated since you HAVE to use it..Version: 4.3

When Will This App Be Fixed?This is our first and last Princess cruise. It’s simply too stressful and time consuming to use this non-functioning app. I wouldn’t even give it one star, but I had no choice. I did manage to get a profile picture loaded by selecting change photo. I don’t see where I can do that for my security photo. Neither profile nor security photos will accommodate uploading a photo of my husband who is traveling with me. The app crashes when my husband and I try to agree to the cruise contract and COVID-19 risk forms and upload travel documents. I was going to wait a few more days to try again after you’ve fixed the problems, but I discovered in the App Store that these problems have been happening to people for months. Not the most user-friendly I have seenI am mid-way through the Travel checklist for my upcoming cruise and I am frustrated. Tried the Princess phone line for help to no avail. They also refer to a chat on the Web site that does not exist. Note that I am running the latest Medaillion version 3.6 on my iPhone at IOS 15.1 Here are my problems with the application: - I am trying to confirm my Arrival group and cannot do it. I can select the group, but the application will not allow me to save my selection (No Save button). Also tried to fill out the Health status questionnaire, but I realize I might be too early (cruise is in 24 days), but no message to confirm this. Recommendations: - Make clear in the app, those steps not available for immediate completion. I am not sure if I can select my arrival group, and nothing tells me for sure the Health status is not available yet. I just get a white screen after a long load period - Give the possibility to send the Passage contract & COVID 19 risk acceptance to an email address. These are not easy to read on an iPhone screen and we have no copy for further reference. Can’t upload vaccination or covid documentsI’ve spent over 7 hours on the phone this week trying to sort out with Cruise118 and Princess Cruises the fact that we aren’t “ocean ready” and can’t get our embarking QR codes because we are unable to upload our documents, tried using two different phones and it accepts the upload but won’t save. Nobody has been able to help. I’ve spoken to people at Princess on the phone and explained the situation and they’ve changed the subject to try and sell me excursions and book special dining tables which is useless considering at this rate we won’t even be allowed on the ship. Massive disappointmentWe booked our cruise on Nov3 our cruise starts Feb 5 and we have been trying since Nov 3 to get all our information into the system to no avail. Between my wife and I we have spent many many hours on the phone waiting to speak to someone, no answers to live chat, even sent booking number and other info to these tech folks and of course never an answer. This is the worst application I have ever run across, the worst customer service, and the most incompetent IT team running it. If your IT team in almost three months can’t fix an app then you either need to get rid of the app or get rid of the IT team and hire some folks whO know what they are doing. We are leaving on a cruise unable to make dinner reservations, unable to get green boarding status due to unable to put in our information. My wife and I are truly unhappy and anyone we can sometimes get on the phone are very sorry but nothing they can do. Heck they even created a ticket number (8285) of course that really does not matter because no one seems to be able to fix it. Worst App of All TimeWithout a doubt the worst app of all time! I can’t believe that a cruise line makes something like this app so pivotal, yet can’t even make it a functioning app at all! I would give this a zero star review if I could. The app needs massive bug fixes. One day out of three months I was able to log in and enter a few documents, then CRASH and I lose it all and it won’t even let me back into the same screen with the constant “Link Booking” even though I already have on multiple occasions… followed with the response from the app of “this booking has already been claimed”. The call lines have been little to no help and have made things worse at times. However, the people are friendly on the phone, but the transferring and hold times are out of this world. I can easily say before going on this cruise that I will never do another with this cruise line. All in all, if you as a cruise line (if you call yourself that), want to make every person use an app, at least make it one that actually works! Instead of a legitimate 7% success rate, let’s at least shoot for 65%! Come on now! Used the app through our cruise with Princess to AlaskaThe idea behind the app is fantastic yet they’re many glitches and errors come with the app. -The app is pretty convenient and easy to use, yet many of our food orders got being active in Current status menu even though we already received our orders. And to clear those orders, you need to call customer service or chat over their chat section within the app or go to customer service at their stations. It’s true that most of our issues weren’t fixed but that tough us to order one items at time so MAKE SURE To ORDER one item at time through the app. - We also found many orders that we did not make included in our original orders and we didn’t receive them so we tried to indicate this to customer service but they only ask us to clear orders without trying to understand what is going on “her name was Hana, she is nice but” they are not looking to improve their service. -App lose connection easily so keep logging in and out to keep your self activated. We ordered beverages package and thus we used the app so many times and I hope Princess could improve and develop this app more as the idea behind is very good..Version: 4.3

Appalling app!Downloaded the app as directed by travel agent. Seemed to work at first with photos already uploaded presumably from a previous cruise. Obtained arrival time, input cc details, came out of app. When next opened couldn’t input passport details, or anything else. Only had my details and not husband’s and no photo although there is a green tick next to ‘security photo’. Credit card details were also missing but was able to input again. This is the only way to input travel documents but is impossible to do. We’re due to on our cruise in 3 days - that’ll be an interesting conversation at the port! Not Working uselessYou Click on Travel Checklist arrow then click on Personal Information & Documents arrow. Then it starts loading, takes ages to load. The app then pulls up a screen so you can load information, in 5 Seconds before you can select anything the app comes up with Link your Booking screen. You go to type in info in like name, DOB and booking number the keyboard won’t pop up, you can’t type anything. You should not need to type your booking info again. It does not work. People in Australia have all complained about this. Call Princess no one can help. Very frustrating. I just want it fixed! Hopefully someone will see this. I have reloaded the app several times. Obviously a bug that makes this app completely uselessWould have given zero stars, this app is the most complicating thing I have ever dealt with. My dad who has a top of the angle smartphone was unable to open the app, he came to my house so he could booked his dining as Princess have no other way of booking as they have moved completely over to an app. I have 14.7 IOS i am able to get in the app but once you try to confirm a dining time the loading circle just keeps spinning, we have force closed the app, restarted the app multiple times and it’s still not working. They have to complete details before their holiday and it’s completely impossible. Shame it has multiple bugs that haven’t been fixed. I can’t imagine how someone without a smartphone would be able to use it let alone continue to use the app whilst on board.Version: 3.1.3

Terrible AppI am not impressed with Princess Medallion Class app at all. After booking and paid off the cruise in Feb this year , I made the reservation for “Dine My Way” on my App , everything worked smoothly until Princess changed our ship in March, after our Cruise Agent re-booked our Cruise, I thought all I had to do was to re-make reservation for “Dine My Way” and other features on my App , how wrong I was, after 7 weeks of ship changed , several phone calls to Princess , my Medallion Class App still shows initial Cruise documents, ship name and things related to its Ship even though I have to enter new Booking number in order to bring things up on my Medallion Class App. God knows when Princess will fix my App. I hope they won’t wait until our sailing day is nearer. After our Cruises (back to back ) I will have to plan our next Voyage with another Cruise line. Princess can lose lot of businesses because of their horrible Medallion Class App.Version: 3.9.1

Flawed AppI want to preface this with saying it’s still a good start to integration of ship-wide systems into a user friendly-ish way. There are two main problems I see with it as it currently stands: the app is too data heavy for the current shipboard Wi-Fi systems on a ship the size of a Royal Class one, especially on sea days. The other issue that’s been plaguing me is the fact that to order using the app the two options are either your stateroom or your current location. On sea days, it wasn’t able to ascertain my location so I was unable to order. I think being able to choose your shipboard location to combat that location tracking issue would go a long way towards helping implementation of the app..Version: 3.9.1

A Princess Problem!Arguably one of the most troublesome apps ever created! Moving off the web based program, in my opinion, was a mistake reflecting on Princess. Trying to use the Medallion app becomes an exercise in futility. The screen goes blank continuously with no way to return to the previous entry. This occurs in multiple steps attempting to answer each request. The only answer is to quit and attempt again at a later date. Even eliminating the app and downloading again, only results in repeating the same troubles. Note: app download is on an iPhone and an iPad using IOS15.1 Contacting Princess direct results in a minimum of an hour+ wait time for an agent. Only then to be forwarded to the ‘tech’ department for another hold time of over 58 minutes only to be told to “try and download (?) the app again!?!? We are trying our best to work within the system by following what Princess has instructed. We are not new to cruising, as we are presently in the Platinum category. After consulting with our travel agent, she has suggested maybe considering other cruise lines as a possible alternative. I write this hoping that Princess can regain our confidence as one of the premier cruise cruise lines..Version: 3.9.1

Why is checklist MANDATORY on this crap app?!!Princess needs to allow passengers to submit REQUIRED cruise paperwork through their website—this app is crap!! I’ve been suffering through issues after issues for over 4 weeks now and I STILL cannot upload my travel documents. I’ve called MedallionClass Support over 6x times, opened Online Chat 2x times, and based on support advice, I removed and re-downloaded the app (twice), downloaded the app on a different device (once), and was told to login on a computer and to constantly clear browser cookies and refresh screen. I’ve tried all ineffective solutions, waited and spoke on numerous phone calls and overall wasted my time while my anxiety continues to escalate as my travel date is now less than 7 days away. Four weeks ago, I could not find my booking on the app. When I tried to link it, it says it is already linked. Then my booking# showed up in my Profile but I still cannot access my paperwork. Then I was able to access my paperwork BUT none of my cabin mates (my children) are linked under the booking so I cannot access their profiles to submit paperwork for them. Also, the information I submit for myself (cc info, emergency contact, etc) do not get saved/updated and the screen glitches/freezes so when I refresh the screen, it continues to say: “Something went wrong. Try again later”. Do us all a favor and give this App the sea burial it deserves..Version: 3.9.1

DreadfulYou need a very modern phone or tablet to download the app - so go and buy those before you try! Then the app crashes continually - so have the paracetamol ready. You will need to fill in masses of information - allow plenty of time for this on different days as the app keeps crashing. You will be asked to fill in credit card details for expenditures on board and shoreside, would you be happy with this? I’m not doing it. This cruise with Princess is our first with them, if the app doesn’t change it will be our last..Version: 3.2.1

Not ready for prime timeAfter experiencing the use of the app on the ship and after visiting the Princess “Navigators” (the cruise line’s tech support), it became apparent that this app along with the companion app, Ocean Compass, are absolutely not stable. The app, without warning, would crash and/or have me login at least multiple times in an effort to keep trying to make it a wonderful passenger tool. That in itself was a major frustration. And what is really frustrating is that both apps drain battery power at a much higher percentage than any other app I have on my iPhone 7. 20% battery usage for MedallionClass and 44% for OceanCompass after just 2 ½ hours of use and/or running in the background when not being used. Also, depending on where I am on the ship (such as Princess Theatre), the search for friends onboard would just fail. Somehow I get the feeling that the developers did not beta test these two apps..Version: 1.3

Circle of Hell to useIt’s not like apps were invented yesterday and going through a growing phase. Princess has been using this useless app for years and haven’t gotten it right. I am dreading boarding the ship and having to rely on this to order anything. Trying to load any info takes you through multiple circles of hell…waiting and waiting to load…and having to sign in over and over again. Cannot complete complete name with initials as it appears on passport, cannot link booking, users guide screen shots don’t match the app. Sure hope this inefficiency is not indicative of my upcoming cruise..Version: 4.6.1 (105918)

Dine my way ZERO STARS!We had a cruise booked in December, I tried for months to get a table for the same time every day it never worked, always told me nothing available at this time. I persisted, every day, up until the day of our cruise and it still told me nothing was available try again later. So, we were unable to get dining when we wanted. Now, we have a cruise booked for Alaska in June on the new ship Discovery. I have been trying again for months with no luck. I have talked to tech support four times. First time after waiting 45 minutes and being on the phone for another 45 minutes with the tech he was unable to make it work. Second time, a week later, I spent the same amount of time on the phone, this tech was also unable to make reservations, he said he would turn in a fix it report. A week later, same thing, this time when I asked to talk to a supervisor they said they would write a report and someone would call me back. A week later no reply. Today, I was told they couldn’t do it again after an hour waiting. I am an Elite customer I have booked 4 cabins for this cruise with my family and I would just like to be able to share a meal with my family. If I can’t get a fricken table for this cruise then I am done with Princess!.Version: 3.9.1

Medallion MESSI have been trying unsuccessfully for over 5 months to sort out what I thought would be a simple mix up. My Medallion App has a booking for a cruise departing Manzanillo, Mexico on March 7, 2023, cruising to mainland U.S. then to Honolulu. ( 18 days ). I did not book or even contemplate this reservation. I have no idea where it came from. The problem is I have a cruise booked the day after this ( March 8, 2023 ), which departs Melbourne for a cruise around New Zealand returning to Melbourne. ( 13 days ). I have all receipts paid to Princess for the New Zealand cruise. Whenever I call Princess and explain the situation they say I am booked on the New Zealand cruise. They cannot explain why it does not appear on my Medallion App. , but offer to “ look into it “ and call me back. The past five months have consisted of numerous calls a week to Princess, most times being transferred up to five different agents, all vowing to call back or to escalate my enquiry. Oh no lost informationAll well to start with, then a message to say I had cancelled my medallion. I had done no such thing, much of the information entered had been wiped off. I reordered the medallion, entered info again, but could not load up my arrival time. Dreadful appDownloaded it yesterday and eventually managed to get the data in except for arrival time. Was this app ever tested?The MedallionClass app is hands down the worst app I’ve used for any cruise lines I’ve traveled with (4 so far). The app hangs, throws blank screen, throws random errors and don’t try to use the <Back> navigation because you guess it, it’ll hang the app. It would not have been so maddening if they didn’t remove the options to check in via their website. I’m unable to finish the Travel Document stage nor select a departure group. When I make a dining reservation, the app shows a table for 4 on one screen but after I select it, it confirms I’ve booked a table for 2. I’m on the phone with Support now. The lady is very kind and helped me complete some steps the app keeps crashing on. But even she couldn’t book the departure group because that could only be done via the app. She contacted technical support right on the spot. Thankfully, they were able to book the departure group for me and fixed the underlying issues that prevented me from entering my passport info. The entire call (on hold + talking to support + technical support) took 1.5 hours. Net-net, Princess Cruise Line, you hired the right people to man your phone lines. Your technical support team seems effective but you must do better with your app. What I experienced does not reflect the good reputation you’ve built for your cruise line. This App Just Doesn’t WorkHaving booked two cruises we are keen to get up to speed with getting using the App as it is a vital part of the cruise experience, however it just doesn’t work. We can login an see our cruise bookings but when we try to upload our information and arrange our Medallions in Ocean Ready the App just fails and goes into a loop of saying “Somethings Gone Wrong” and asking us to login again. HorribleThis is the worst app ever. It’s extremely slow and logs me out at random times for no reason. I’ve tried repeatedly to enter my credit card number in the shipboard screen and it tells me the card number isn’t valid even though I know it’s valid. I entered it on the shoreside screen and it took it fine. I called and the girl couldn’t help. She said to uninstall and reinstall the app because they are “making enhancements” So I did just that and had the same problems. I’m nervous about having to use this on the ship. Being so reliant on an app that doesn’t work consistently is a bit nerve racking. It would be nice if passengers could get cruise ready on the website like other companies instead of forcing us to use an app that doesn’t work. After reading the reviews it appears this has been an issue for a while so it’s mind boggling to me why the developers and Princess haven’t found a way to fix this. Cancel your Cruise NOWThe app is terrible, and it’s indicative of a terrible cruise line in disarray. Save yourself, don’t download the app, and cancel your cruises I’ve been a Platinum Captains Circle Member for some time, but my experience with the app and the cruise post Covid has been the worst ever. The medallion app claims to allow you to order food or drinks anywhere except it doesn’t work as advertised. If you do one thing in the app, it prevents you from doing another unless you log out and log back in. If you order food and get lucky and actually get it to confirm, it doesn’t let you reorder something new until who knows when. It doesn’t work in many places on board, and the time it takes you get your food, often an hour to 2 hours means you have to stay in the same place for that long. You would be better off going to a bar, restaurant or just calling room service the old fashioned way. Plus, the app doesn’t let you do special requests..Version: 4.3

Something is fundamentally wrong!On my last cruise back in 2019, this worked perfectly, now I either have a App problem on my iPad and Samsung phone that gives me the same results on both devices i.e. I can change my photo, but can’t link or see the cruises I have booked or there’s something critically wrong with the linking of my information on the server as my info is all there via the website. It’s currently very frustrating as essentially there’s no other way to update your cruise information other than via the App and no one gives you any feedback after reporting the problems as to when it might be resolved. Worst App Ever (tried to) UseThis app is an absolute mess. We’ve used several cruising apps and this one is hands down the most frustrating. We can’t get past the initial page in order to upload our documents and complete the MANDATORY items. I was told by a Live Chat person that this is a “known issue” and we will need to be prepared to check in at the pier, the old fashioned way. Totally defeats the purpose of aiming for a smooth and safe embarkation. Common sense would be to allow passengers to check in on the website instead of a useless app that they don’t care to fix. BTW, we have newer Apple devices and we even tried it on an iPad. I made a call and spoke to a live person in technical support and she said she could see that our birthdates on the back end were off by one day, she tried to fix but it kept reverting back. She escalated me to another person, and all he could do was ask me if I had read the step-by-step instructions on all the things available on the app, and downplayed the issue by saying “well, it’s technology and there is nothing I can do.” We cruise quite a bit and this experience has definitely changed our view of Princess. Medallion Class app is a nightmare in AustraliaSadly, while this app has so much potential, it has serious connectivity problems for those of us in Australia. It is only with repeated difficulty that one is able to enter data or upload documents and even then it takes repeated attempts to get the information to save to the app. While it seems it saves, on re-entering the app at a later time one sees that the entered information is missing. Furthermore, the app seems to be written for people in the US, and folk elsewhere are supposed to take it or leave it. Why do I say that? The app asks for documentation which is not able to be provided in Australia, or it requires Australian passport documentation to be entered even though the cruise departs and returns to an Australian port and the cruise never leaves Australian waters. Wouldn’t a driver’s licence be sufficient? This app is a real headache indeed! And don’t bother trying to use Live chat to sort out a problem because I repeatedly get the message that there is no connection or no one is online..Version: 4.1

Horrible app and customer serviceI booked an Alaska Cruisetour back in July2021. I was informed about two weeks ago, our ship has changed. Things have literally been a cluster since…. And now the app. The app won’t link my booking number to my account for me use. It tells me my name doesn’t match my booking number. Two days and another e-mail later, I get a response, “ Please note that support is prioritized by sail date. We appreciate your patience while we investigate.” They invite you to get on and use the app and then tell you, you are not important enough at this time. I understand I have time, but I am traveling with a group and want to get things going. I had read some other reviews and it sounds like the app is a problem. I think they need to spend some time fixing the app if that is what we are expected to utilize for the trip! Fix This App!We are currently on an Alaska cruise tour we booked in September 2021. When I first downloaded the app, there were a lot of problems most of which were fixed during updates. The last few weeks, I have been trying to select a boarding group and it kept saying it was too soon. Now that we are on the land portion of our tour, scheduled to board the ship in 2 days, when I try to select a boarding group, the message is, “Sorry. Ship has already sailed.” This is despite the fact that it is showing the correct sailing dates in the select a boarding group page. Now, since we are going to be arriving at the cruise terminal by train, I wasn’t expecting to have a choice of boarding groups and if the message had been, “Sorry. Your boarding group has been pre-selected based on your tour arrival time,” it would have made sense. My husband sits in the App with a profile of DOB, address, and Dining Preferences. Oh, and the cruises come up that are booked in MY name 🤔we can see them (3 in all) but can’t do anything with them. I couldn’t add my booking number, it kept glitching and erasing all my progress, I tried doing all the pre-board info and it kept having me do it over and over again! Moderately Useful App but …The screen to add credit card payment methods does not accept non-numeric characters in the Postal Code field. Canadian postal codes are of the form A1A 1A1 and UK postcode consists of five to seven alphanumeric characters. Other countries may also have non-numeric characters in their codes. This needs to be fixed to accommodate non-US travellers. Also, there are places in the app where it isn’t clear what is being asked or why. For example, in Dining preferences, the first screen appears, without explanation, to be asking about allergies (e.g. click what you DON’T want) and the second screen appears to be dietary preferences (e.g. click what you DO want). A few words of explanation would be helpful. In the Persona section, a few words on what is being asked and how it will be used would be helpful in deciding what to answer..Version: 4.3

AwfulI'm currently sat on a Princess cruise out of Southampton, and the app either logs you out all the time, or it sits there refreshing, so if you do manage to scroll down, it'll refresh and put you right back at the top. HorribleThis is one of the worst user friendly apps I have ever used. Continuously logging me out and having to start over from scratch on the login process. Not clear and not able to link my booking for whatever reason. Then when finally looking at my trip, navigating the schedule is a nightmare, trying to figure out extras is horrendous. This app does not workI have been trying to use this app for over a month with no success. Initially when I contacted the cruise line, they acknowledged that there were problems with the app. I suggested they might alert booked customers who have paid for a cruise that there were problems. Of course, this was not done. I received an email within the last week indicating the app was ready to use. Again, it was not working for me. When I tried to enter/complete pre-cruise information to speed the boarding process, the program would hang up. I spoke with my cruise advisor who suggested I try the app early in the morning when there would be fewer potential users of the app. At 6 am this morning I tried the app and when trying to enter data, the screen said “Loading” and hung up again. Very Disappointed!I am very unhappy with this app. It worked well to input the pre cruise information and for the first two days of the 28 day around Australia Cruise that I’m almost finished. The ship board staff were excellent and tried everything to fix it but couldn’t and sent a request to the IT department landside. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago and they’ve have heard nothing. I’ve been notified several times by Daniela but she’s heard nothing. It has made my cruise frustrating as I can’t order food, message my husband or many other things. Shockingly badWe booked a UK seacation. Being forced to use this app has done nothing but add stress to this holiday. The app in its current format is not fit for purpose. Unable to upload passport details just crashes and says there is a problem. Trying to tick and acknowledge the cruise contract and COVID rules and risks, just get the spinning loading which never goes away. Spending 45 mins on telephone awaiting Princess to answer phone with no resolution,just that they know there is an issue and it’s not working for lots of customers! Well if you know there is an issue, put something out on your social media channels to reassure customers you are working on it. As the lady I spoke to said, they don’t want to publicly admit there is issues with the medallion app. Let’s hope it works better onboard!.Version: 3.1.4

Needs improvement! Not VPN FriendlyWorked well for cruise preparation. The problems started on day one of the cruise. The app appears to use the WAN IP to determine if you’re on the ship. That’s fine for the casual user who doesn’t mind a public wireless network. However, users that prefer a more secure connection using a VPN will find that they’re reported as being off-ship. Why is that important? Because Princess i doing away with paper! Princess Patter is no longer delivered to cabins. It’s only available at the (always crowded) Guest Services Desk upon request. You won’t find the daily events listing on TV. The only place you can find it is on the app. But, if you’re listed as being off-ship, you can’t access it. Nor can you access your ship’s account as an example. Another issue relates to dining room reservations. You’re likely to get “An error occurred!” That means a reservation is not available at the time you requested. How about a list of times that a reservation is available rather than having to start over and guess???.Version: 3.5

So Many ProblemsThere are so many problems with this app little and big that add up to a poor and frustrating experience. The login is not shared with Princess.com, so now you are maintaining two IDs for the same company. Finding a companion on the same cruise kept throwing an error on the iPad but then worked on the iPhone. The profile photo squishes the photo to some odd aspect ratio. These and other issues are basic, easily testable issues that shouldn’t make it to production this long into the product. Gotten even worse!This app was bad and not working properly when I wrote my first review. It has gotten even worse! Now that all one’s personal information is integrated into only this app and no longer available to add or edit on the Princess website, there are a multitude of problems. I don’t know about anyone else but I no longer exist on either the app or on the website. My login is still working yet the information found upon using said login is that of my spouse. Actually there are three working logins all going to my spouse’s information. And to top it all off, it’s my picture that appears in the app with all my spouse’s information! Nothing can be added, nothing can be edited, nothing can be ordered! All this has to be done through the app yet it can’t be. My family has a cruise booked for November and it’s impossible to get “ocean ready”. As far as emailing for help goes - FORGET IT! They don’t answer!!!.Version: 3.1.2

Everything but the kitchen sinkA curious app, seemingly developed by committee, which I tried to do everything, but in the end doesn’t excel at anything. Scrolling is a bit jerky (latest iOS &c.) and highly sensitive to opening the wrong tab. From there, the order of the tabs seems developed by the marketing arm of Princess and not from a passenger perspective. ie, when they open the app what do *they* want to do vice what the marketing division would like? Chat with new or old friends? Scroll way down. (btw, notifications doesn’t work, so check often and miss opportunities). What’s the movie tomorrow, or is Movie X playing? No search capability, so start scrolling and hope you get lucky. Look at future cruises? Get the CC out and make a deposit, because you can’t get past that paywall. Possibly Princess should randomly pick a “committee” of cruisers and ask them what they would like, what order to present things, and readjust an app with tremendous possibilities for their needs, rather that a bunch of suits from the Marketing Division..Version: 4.7.1

No way a 4.6 ratingUsed this app initially for a Jan 2022 cruise. Just horrible and took my TA calling to get issue sent to tech support as no phone support or web support at all. Finally got info down loaded. While on ship the app erased all the other people we were sailing with. Tech rep onboard said there were known issues and they were being fixed. Long lines at thIs per person’s desk complaining about the app. Princess also told my TA they were developing a version to use on a laptop to import info. That hasn’t happened. For a September trip had to help a new person load the medallion info and again another nightmare couple of hours. Only reason going on another Princess cruise was that it was booked with another person who really wanted to cruise. This app has convinced us to go HAL or any other cruise line. Necessary for the cruise, but very unreliableThere are features on the app that aee necessary when on a Princess Cruise. Unfortunately, some parts are very broken. For me, ordering food and drinks to my ro works fine. Ordering to any other location on the ship resulted in a failure to deliver every time. Extremely disappointing. Two cruises of frustrationWe used the Medallion for a cruise in December and I’m trying to use it again for a cruise this summer. I have to wonder if this was tested at Al before being rolled out. Here are just a few bug examples: 1. When I add a credit card, if you have multiple trips picked you can’t have an authorized user for more than just the cruise you add the card for payment. So this means each time you take a cruise, even if your credit card hasn’t changed, you have to delete the card to add an authorized user. There is no “edit” feature. 2. Trying to add flights that connect to the cruise destination. I kept getting errors and finally figured out the app only wants the last leg that gets you into the departure city inward and the first leg outward. It would have been simple to add this detail, but instead I had to submit with errors. And there is no way to edit something you submitted, so you have to start over- annoying. 3. Trying to order the medallion wearable and our cruise that’s just 90 days away isn’t showing up. But our cruise in 2023 is… On my partner’s phone the medallion screen is just showing up blank- no buttons no text. On mine, I just get the 2023 trip. Even after trying to select it from the menu and from the travel checklist. Overall if I could do this on a laptop I would. This app is so very frustrating and it drives me nuts. I can’t believe that a large firm like Princess has rolled this out with so many bugs..Version: 3.8

Inadequate and FrustratingThis App serves Princess Cruise Lines well but offers very little for the cruise passenger. The App will take all your personal detail and credit card details with great ease and efficiency but if you actually try to use it to explore and book shore tours or speciality restaurants or anything else it is frustratingly inept and useless. After spending an hour trying to navigate and book cruise add-ons I went into the Princess Customer Assistance Chat Room. The agent spent about 15 minutes trying to help after I had given my booking number and email address to her. However, she couldn’t get it to work either and advised me to delete the App then reinstall it which would mean having to input all that personal and financial detail again. Forget it! I’d rather just eat wherever and find a local in port to see what we can do for the day. My advice is don’t bother with the App. You should call your agent or cruise line direct and get the information you need and then book any add-ons through them..Version: 4.9.1

Terrible app. Big mistakeThis app is terrible. Can’t believe how much we’re paying for a cruise and we have to deal with this app to try and set it up. Can’t get anything to work for the kids room. Can’t even log in since they aren’t 18. Going through the website says to go through the app. Setting up dining is a big pain. I can’t get the passage contract signed for the kids. I can’t set up their arrival time all bc I can’t get on the app for them. This issue has been ‘escalated’ but of course no time frame for a response which means if it’s like our previous issue it’ll be weeks. First time princess cruiser and can’t imagine going back. All of our other cruises were filled with anticipation and excitement before we went this one just frustration. I can’t imagine a less user friendly app and getting help from Princess is non existent. An earlier issue took 4 emails and 3 phone calls before anyone even responded with something helpful. It’s always someone else’s issue so who I’m talking to can’t help..Version: 4.1

CustomerThis app is terrible. I have been trying to fill in my information since June. It is one day before my cruise and it still doesn’t work properly. I have spent over 8 hrs trying to fill in my information, of course they able to input my credit card information with no problem. Genuinely unuseableThis app is just horrid, set out like a nightmare. The cruise industry is mainly older folk, so having an app like this be a way of importing important information it’s just horrendous. Poor performance from appI had high hopes for this app after hearing so many positive reports. This is my first time using it although I am a frequent cruiser on Princess. This app is confusing in its layout such as when trying to get all occupants of a cabin registered and linked under a common account. The app is slow to respond to inputs on the screen and even longer to update itself across the platform. Why do I need to exit my profile to register other members of my family. Or at least make it more user friendly and understandable how all are linked. I’m very familiar with computers and iPads but find this app very difficult to understand or work with..Version: 3.1.4

Pretty uselessFirst issue is the headline rating. Says 4.5 but I can find only a very small number of reviews giving more than 1 star? Cannot download on my mobile (incompatible) and clearly can’t carry my ipad around all day on board. Took over an hour to get it to scan my passport in. The activity view is appalling as you can only see the top 2 rows and must scroll down for the rest. Seems you can’t actually book activities in advance, just bookmark them, which I assume means showing an interest, not actually booking. May be wrong, I hope, time will tell. It’s clunkyI have tried to personalise the medallion for our group 6 times and it keeps freezing. Each step of the process takes ages to load. I feel like I’m back in dial up days. When you use it on the boat it also takes time to order anything. The ships need to have the bandwidth increased. I like being able to order with having to go to the bar. Hopeless version on 12.5.4 Ipad or IphoneMost people of the slightly older generation do not change their mobile phones as often as the younger guys. I dont consider my iphone6 old. There will be many people of my age with phones of a similar age. The app eventually loads (after quite a wait) then at some point it will simply crash and return to the phones / ipad home screen. Well the app was updated yesterday, I downloaded it today but it did exactly the same crashed. So this evening it gave me the option to update. I clicked update and git a message stating that this version is only compatible with software ver 13. Or higher. It says " you can install previous working version" each time I select that option it simply flashes up the same message. Wow you guys are really clever!.Version: 3.1.3

Medallion App continues to dissapointWhile it is obvious that Princess invests an amazing number of resources on this app as seen by the number of on board support personnel, their investment would be better placed with app developers focused on performance capabilities. Having attempted to use this app over a number of cruises, it appeared to be making improvements with on board capabilities (food and beverage ordering, activity scheduling, etc.), however with our most recent cruise, once again it was just about useless. This was even after a number of trips to the on board support personnel for troubleshooting. Very seldom, if ever did the event schedule load when selected. It was easier and more reliable to take a photo of the daily patter and refer to it for event planning than trying to bring up a tool that would take forever to load, if it did load at all. A number of times when ordering through the app the requested items never showed up even after 45 minutes of waiting. Other times ordering through the app while sitting on the promenade was not going to work since the app miscalculated our position as being in the venue inside close to where we were..Version: 4.8.1

One of the worst apps I’ve ever seenI’m currently a software engineering student, and some of my friends and I spent a good 10 minutes laughing at how horrible the app is. Loading times are atrocious. UI is unintuitive and ugly. Calendar requires scrolling in 2 directions… almost like something out of a UI design fails montage on YouTube. When entering information pre cruise, some areas show check marks for completed at the top level, but when you click on the item it shows uncompleted steps. I think you would struggle to find a single screen on the whole app that doesn’t have some kind of design flaw. Frustrating, useless and how safe is it?!This app is really unstable. I make changes it doesn’t save them. I booked dinners for two at a private table and the next time I came back into the app, it has us assigned every night at a group table. I tried changing it again and it did the same thing. This is the kind of thing that can really turn what is supposed to be a nice trip away into a really negative experience. The whole app is glitchy (too much to mention here) and it’s just totally frustrating. The developers and designers clearly haven’t given proper thought to the major demographic who will be using this app. But my BIGGEST concern about an app that is so unstable, especially in our current climate is the safety of our personal data. If this app doesn’t get the basics right, then what hope is there to get the sophisticated stuff right. We are being forced to use this app, and for all we know our data will end up being exposed. Continual freezing and deletion of dataI’ve had to enter my data four times now. It’s been saved and my picture shows up. However, I have to enter my booking number every time, my name and date of birth, because none of that is in the system. I have no troubles when doing these things online. Perhaps princess says you’ll have a relaxing vacation because you don’t use the app on board the ship. While I have been a long time, princess cruiser, it will be difficult to sail with princess again..Version: 4.8.1

Broken broken brokenI’m an experienced mobile app developer myself. And this is one of the worst apps I’ve ever had to use. You are basically forced to use this app. Which is a problem because it is broken in just about every way possible. Entering your pre-cruise information is painful. And completely ignored by the check-in staff. So utterly pointless. Once on the cruise, good luck… The app logs out constantly. It crashes and hangs constantly. Drinks you order simply don’t arrive. Or they might arrive 30 minutes after being “delivered” according to the app. If you DO get your drink it might not get added to your account. Drinks you DIDN’T order will get added to your account. Good luck trying to find your shipmates. The app will hang loading “points of interest” instead of actually showing you where your friends are. The activity viewer is basically unusable. So you have no idea what is going on around the ship. Bugs galore. It’s clear that Princess are aware of the problems because dozens of reviews here are saying the same thing. But Princess clearly have no interest in fixing them..Version: 4.3

This app is the worst app I’ve ever usedLook! If you plan to make an app a significant part of your cruise ships, you need to actually hire developers and support that have had actual work experience building and maintaining apps. With NO WAY to delete the items or empty the cart. Now I can’t even see anything because it’s glitching. Yes, I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, NOTHING works. You need to get rid of your tech team and stop hiring people with NO experience and hire some real talent. Throwing a manual at someone that has never done a software or developer job in their life and telling them to use google to figure it out ISN’T WORKING!!!!!!! Princess Medallion RubbishFRUSTRATED AND STRESSED!!! This App should be easy to navigate and have all information readily available or searchable. PATHETIC APPI have uploaded the same information several times now and each time I get a check mark indicating I’ve completed that task. We have a paid-in-full upcoming cruise in this September and on 8 July I had completed 4 of the 5 checklist items for that cruise and received a “Green Lane" status rating, whatever that mean, for both myself and my wife. Then version 3.1.3 was released a few days ago and I not only suddenly lost 2 check marks (Travel checklist and credit card account info), I also lost ALL the info associated with my wife. It’s now like she doesn’t exist though we’ve paid for 2 cruises. As a result of all these app ‘fixes’, we’ve been demoted from ‘Green Lane’ status to ‘Blue Lane’. I believe the first Princess cruise employing this app, a MANDATORY requirement in order to sail, embarks 25 July. I feel so sorry for those passengers because this app is the only way to a passenger can check-in ‘online’ now and get a boarding pass. I have a feeling Princess is going to be overwhelmed at the terminal on 25 July with passengers arriving who do not have a boarding pass. I should also note that I have sent 2 emails directly to the developer complaining about these and other issues I was experiencing as I have been attempting for 2 months now to complete the check-in process. And now they publish an update with a major step backwards IMO. Hence my “pathetic" app 1-star rating..Version: 3.1.3

Ocean Ready App broken for 3 months.My ocean ready account has been broken for 3 months and I cannot order my medallion. If I have to wait in line at the cruise port, I’m going to be aggravated as Princess has had months to fix this. I’m getting some weird error that stumps everyone when calling customer support. Every time I call to try to remedy the situation, they say to delete and re-install the app. And, of course, that doesn’t do anything. Then they claim they’re going to escalate my issue and create a ticket. They’re not allowed to tell you the ticket number as it’s for internal purposes only. Week later, still broken. Call again, we’re going to create an escalated ticket. Wait, what happened to the one that was created last time? The “ocean navigator” said it was never read. So, they created another one. I think, by now, I have about 7 escalated tickets in their queue that have never been read and all for the same login issue. Ridiculous. It’s really irritating Princess outsourced it’s call center to the Philippines. I get it during Covid, all ships were docked and there was no need for a workforce, but you claim cruising is “back to normal” so, re-hire the workers!.Version: 4.6.1 (105918)

Worst app ever!!!Princess’s MedallionClass is the worst app I’ve ever used. It lags, freezes, and requires constant closing and reopening in order to work for ‘Find my Shipmates’ and events. In addition, Dine My Way DOES NOT WORK! We had a party of 15, I booked tables close to each other, only to have the reservations cancelled. After 3 calls to Princess Customer Service, they eventually told me that I had to go to Ocean Services on my first day of the cruise…which means, instead of decompressing and relaxing from the get-go, I have to go figure out my own way with a LIVE person in order to solve the issue that the MedallionClass app is suppose to help ease my way into vacation mode. Thanks but no thanks. I hope the old way of dining reservations come back. At least then I have a guarantee instead of HOPING that my dining reservations actually made it onboard the ship with me. Worse than lost luggage!.Version: 4.4.1

Time consuming and not reliableI’ve traveled with Princess 15 times. Love the cruise line; the app is terrible. We’ve reserved our dinner time weeks ahead. When we get onboard, it is lost. Happened twice. We got in line with dozens of others with the same experience. They don’t fix it for you. You have to book one night at a time even though it was the app that messed it up. This cruise, I can’t get the app off of blue lane. They can’t help when you call. Princesses only advice: uninstall and reinstall. Did it twice. Logged in once through the reservation number and once creating a new log in. Spent a couple of hours waiting in hold, talking, deleting and reloading twice. Problem not solved. No change it just spins. This isn’t my user error. I successfully loaded the phones for my 3 travel companions. Sometimes it works, many times it doesn’t. It is so much faster to type in info on the computer. Why don’t we have a choice? Final complaint: once you book your meal time or your check in time there is no way to see what you reserved. So you can’t double check that it is correct. The designers should have to use the app!.Version: 4.5.1

Bad PascalShocking app and not much help from customer service who hold me it was my fault for having the wrong phone. The thing is the app wouldn’t even load if the phone wasn’t compatible so it might be better briefing people better. So it loads but won’t recognise my booking number so I can’t do anything useful on my account. I then went into my account just using booking details on the same phone. I thought that’s good, I can get everything sorted out now. NOPE!! I am informed on this page that I have to log into medallion class app to change anything worth changing. So in short: can’t do pre boarding, can’t book anything, can’t take requested photos and can’t get help from customer service after waiting almost an hour to speak to them. This is our first Princess cruise and we were getting really excited before today. If it’s all as good as this it may be our last. And god only knows what happens to those older customers who have probably been loyal customers for years and may not even use mobile phones. Not impressed..Version: 3.1.3

A compulsory app with the worst interface ever designedIf you’re going to make an app compulsory for boarding, and make it the primary way in which you upload information, here’s some advice, (and please genuinely fix these issues as soon as humanly possible): 1. Don’t make the user LOG OUT of the main interface every single time they press back. There are maybe 6 things that you need to do on this app before boarding, and I’ve had to log into it around 40 times. 2. There is a perfectly good checklist for tasks you must complete prior to boarding, and yet other mandatory tasks like providing proof of covid vaccination are in the middle of nowhere and require extensive searching on the app to even locate. 3. Fix the connectivity issues. As if the first 2 issues weren’t infuriating enough, you can often get stuck on an infinite loading screen, or wait for unhealthy amounts of time before tasks complete, which often prompts a restart of the app, which of course requires yet another log in. Apps are useful, but not if they feel like they were made 30 years ago..Version: 4.8.1
