✓ Best yetExtremely detailed and on the verge of addictive. Almost too much information but you can narrow down what you want to focus on and expand your exploration as you go. One thing that stunned me was that it apparently ties into weather info while you’re playing and will show you the wind speed and direction in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Not sure if that’s legal in some tournaments but I found that to be brilliant. Yardages displayed are extremely accurate and easy to manipulate. One of the best thought out and engineered apps I’ve ever had..Version: 2.9.6
✓ Great app but drains watch batteryI really like this app. Simple to use and very well designed but the last few times I’ve used it the watch app has completely drained the battery. Don’t know if there’s a setting that’s wrong but it’s a real shame as, without this, the app is pretty much flawless..Version: 2.14.15

✓ A True strokes gained appGreat app. First true stoke gained app I have seen and although not perfect yet improving fast. I have entered abut 20 rounds so far and it is east to use and the data clearly presented. Really highlights the weak areas of you game and how you can improve. Tutorials and webinars are useful in explaining the concepts and how to make the best of the information. Only downside so far is the GPS which is displayed on my Apple Watch it not as accurate as my Shotscope 3 or Sky caddie Watch..Version: 1.8.9

✓ Excellent golf appI’ve used several different golf apps over the past many years and V1 Game is the best I’ve found so far. Accurate, easy-to-consume yardage information to guide shot selection? Check. Simple, efficient and comprehensive shot tracking data capture, including an Apple Watch app? Check. An amazing range of advanced stats, including strokes gained calculations, to help you understand your game and plot its improvement? Check. For me, it’s the stats set this app apart from the others I’ve tried....they are impressive and will only get more so the more rounds you capture. Also, for someone like me who plays the vast majority of my golf on one course, I like the ability to visually display the history of my shots on each hole. And, I like the ability to easily share information with my swing coach. It’s a very new app, so I look forward to seeing how V1 Sports takes it forward..Version: 1.0.21

✓ Awesome app and east to useThis app is wonderful and much better then other tracking apps out there. This ones allows you to auto track your shots so during a tournament you can still have your stats- Amazing! I like the aspect that you can customize your bag so your stats are more accurate. It’s nice even when your just playing for fun with friends because it allows you to get a yardage to a bunker or water just by tapping on it! It’s amazing how just an app can help improve your golf game. The stats feedback is unbelievable and super in depth especially if what your plugging in is as accurate as can be. I have not used the apple watch version yet, but it doesn’t run your phone battery down hardly at all unlike other similar apps with is nice..Version: 1.5
✓ Amazing appI’ve tested most golf gps apps but this one is one of the best apps. They have a couple of different subscriptions which I would totally recommend the birdie subscription which gives you a lot of statistics that can improve your game..Version: 2.14.15

I did re-download the app, then requested to change password by “Forgot password” but no email nor any other instruction was received. I get rejected either by trying to log-in or do new register. ✓ Cannot delete test roundsThe App looks ok but it seems that you cannot delete your test rounds unless you have the paid version. So I am sticking with my laser and manual records. After being contacted by the guys at V1 I would like to change my review. I have managed to delete my 6 hole test rounds now. The app does trace your path well and works to an Apple watch as well. So now it’s proper competition rounds..Version: 1.7.8

✓ Good Enough to be Useful, Still a Work in ProgressI love the option of doing all my “tracking” at home the evening after a round. I just let the app track my GPS breadcrumbs without having to mess with the phone during the round. The included stat breakdowns are useful but I hope they keep adding further options and filters. Biggest wish list item are to share with other people a full round (ie all the shots displayed on the satellite image view) as to be able to generate PDF reports of the statistics for printing..Version: 1.7.11

✓ V1 Game golf appI have stated to use this app for auto shot detection and distances to green using my Apple Watch. The shot tracking works well and can easily be edited on iPhone/ iPad afterwards to get all shots, penalties, putts etc absolutely correct with clubs used. The resulting immediate review is excellent. Although it hasn’t helped me yet to improve my scoring I hope the soon expected release of virtual coach will help me do this. I reviewed several apps of this sort before choosing V1 as the best for me. Whenever I have had a query the support has been first class with fast and comprehensive response..Version: 1.8.10

As ever tweaks could be made (would be cool to make the putting easier - ie ask for distance from Pin for each putt - clicking the single putter icon is a challenge.) would also be good to be able to give an approximate location of the putt as that would allow iron yardage to be more accurate on approaches (currently if you say your approach was 20ft the system has to guess if you were 20ft passed the hole, where the hole was etc)..Version: 2.6.7

✓ GamechangerI just wanted a golf gps, but what I got is basically a virtual coach. The golf gps function is free, but once I saw the stats, wow! I’m learning all new things about my golf game. I like that I could set my goal to be a 10 handicap and then monitor my progress against that. ✓ Strokes Gained BEST appI looked at lots of apps to track data. this is hands down the easiest, least intrusive, most complete data tracking app out there. The customer service is over the moon good. The on course distances are accurate and make visualizing the shot you need to hit much easier than my Bushnell or Garmin..Version: 1.8.9

✓ Needs some workI’ve tried this for a few rounds and it seems to work quite well tracking most shots on the Apple Watch but I do have to enter manually a number of shots from around the green. I enter these as ‘missed shot’ but it isn’t as easy as it could be. I think this could be easily improved from the default Watch screen by adding a button ‘add shot’ maybe. It would be good if it recorded your position at the time too. Editing on the phone to add missing shots is a bit onerous too. It’ll only let you ‘add shot from here’ if it detected your presence at a spot with the + sign. I’d like to be able to do a long press on the screen and be given the option to add a shot. Handling ‘three off the tee’ could be easier when my first tee shot has gone off into the woods and I’m playing a provisional..Version: 2.14.12
✓ Apple WatchPros: GPS is accurate, and can log shot by shot. Like similar apps. Cons: Once your round is done, you sign your card, and you exit using the app. The app continues to run on your Apple Watch, tracking your gps location and draining your battery. Closing the app does not work, you literally have to delete the app on your phone to keep it from running, after every round. Update: The developer has fixed the issue. After the round when you Save and Exit it will now stop running on the Apple Watch. I’ve played on a few different courses, the gps is accurate, the data is trustworthy. ✓ Excellent app, excellent supportWhile you may find a few very minor glitches in this app, there is nothing that is a show stopper. The support is the best I’ve ever encountered, bar none. If you do find a glitch I’ll bet it is fixed within a few days. That has been my experience. Beyond that the potential for this app is tremendous. I’ve barely scratched the surface and I’m guessing the app will continue to be refined with new features. The Auto Shot Detection alone is worth a subscription. ✓ Honestly impressedI was a little sceptical when I downloaded this app on my watch and phone but ended up being pleasantly surprised. It was really easy to use and really accurate to the point I didn’t hesitate to trust the yardages it gave me. Slight down side was that it drained the battery on my Iwatch really quickly and I could make it stop counting my practice swings ( but this maybe something I can fix in settings). ✓ Great app!I’ve used several apps and devices to track my distances and rounds over the years. I used to love Game Golf until the battery died in the belt device and I learned you couldn’t change it out. Terrible design, basically a $200 throw away device. I decided to give V1 a try and couldn’t be happier. No more RFID buttons screwed into my grips and no more manual tagging my shots! I love this app! I use the Apple Watch feature and I t’s accurate, easy to use once you figure out how to mark all your penalty and recovery shots, and the stats I get really help me focus on things I need to do to improve my rounds. My last few rounds I have shaved a few strokes off and my handicap has gone down. I believe it has a lot to do with using the stats acquired from the V1 app and it how it has me rethinking working my way around the course. Well done V1!.Version: 2.10.0

✓ Great! I love this app, worth every pennyThis is a great app! I love the data you get from it. It has directly improved my game from 18 to 7! Especially with an Apple watch it’s excellent and easy to use and doesn’t interfere with my gameplay. I recommend this app to everyone I play with! Only recently the app will crash and the gps would fail, but these bugs are to be expected. I would like to see a feature that allows me to still indicate which club I used (say 8iron from the fairway), even if I didn’t hit it well I can indicate “miss hit” so that its result doesn’t contribute toward my clubs yardages. ✓ Great AppTried a few different golf gps and shot tracking apps. This is by far the easiest and most simple to use. Auto shot detection works well, but I usually track the shots as I go since I won’t remember what club I used if I add it later. No need to input fairway misses, sand or green. The app recognizes where you hit and tracks all the data for you. It’s not the cheapest app around but has multiple options depending on what price point you’re comfortable with..Version: 2.3.1
✓ First rate software for game improvementBeen using the v1 app for about 12 rounds now and what a revelation it’s been! I use it linked to my Apple Watch and it knows when I make a swing and tracks that within the app. After a round you can see a huge amount of data from your round and then work out where you’ve gone wrong. It’s not always where you think, which is one of the biggest strengths of the app. If you’re interested In lowering your scores and love stats, this is about as good as it gets. Finally, support is absolutely A+ as well and get back to you very quickly from a chat box within the app or via email. Can’t ask for much more than that..Version: 2.10.6

✓ ShotScope replacement!Previously used a ShotScope watch but received an Apple Watch as a gift and didn’t want to wear both! The app is fantastic in providing all of the data that ShotScope previously gave me, particularly strokes gained broken down into categories so you know which areas specifically you need to focus on! Really simple to use and will be subscribing once the free trial rounds are used. ✓ It’s not just an app for tracking scoresAnybody that wants to improve their game needs this app. It’s incredibly user friendly. You don’t have to enter shots during the round so it doesn’t distract you from your play. Turn it on and don’t touch it until after the round is over. It uses GPS to track shots and has a quick putt feature to easily capture scores. Finalizing shots after the round takes a couple of minutes, max. Data analytics are great. You can see where you’re gaining/losing strokes to players of a similar handicap, club distances, dispersion patterns, and scoring “potential” using the 4 keys to golf.
