Strikeman for Negative User Reviews

Great alternative to overpriced ammo!I really enjoy the system, however the early version had troubles registering the shots (I haven’t used it since reports of improvement in that area though). Super-neat concept, however I find set up somewhat challenging to get my phone at the right height and distance with the target at chest height. While certainly doable, the set up process prevents impromptu five minute practice sessions. I anticipate someday resolving with a spare iPod or old iPhone and just leaving the system set up. I initially sprung for the pro system in hopes of solving some of those issues, getting new/larger targets, and being able to practice with friends, but when I learned the app was subscription-based I had to cancel. The need for ongoing payments really turned me off and is really why this isn’t a four star review. If that can be resolved, I’m probably back in the game at the pro level. Just a couple items to correct and this is a five star product!👍🏻.Version: 1.14

So very bad!Update. They did give me a full refund but I am out the $40 duty and brokerage and return freight as I imported it to Canada. But at least they retuned what they controlled. Unreal. They had the opportunity to do something great but it sucks. App crashes. They laser does not function in my Glock. Just stays on the whole time and then the batteries died in about 10 minutes. Don’t buy this what ever you do. I am going to try to get my money back. What a disappointment as with Canada’s new gun rules I can’t take my pistols to the range anymore..Version: 1.16

Utter Disappointment, save your money & get a refundFamily bought 4 of these systems to gift for Christmas. They can’t get their money back for the gifts since past 15 days. The lasers work fine, but the app is pointless. They’ll tell you to clear all browsing history, clear all apps, restart phone, etc and still say it’s user error because “other people haven’t returned theirs”….?… (although all of these reviews prove otherwise) We have the newest iPhones and everything is updated software & app wise. Tried this app on more than four different iPhones. Either it will crash mid use and take you to Home Screen (deleting data), won’t register your shots whatsoever, OR it will say you shot 30 times before picking up your item. Might get lucky and get two shots to record, then just stops recording from there. Customer service will just send copy/paste using instructions, won’t read your questions at all, and ask again why we would like to return product… in other words, find the next best dry fire training company and go with that..Version: 1.16

About as useful as a hanful of used toilet paperUseless, phantom shots, product itself is absolute trash, operating system registers half the shots if your lucky.Version: 1.5

Very in accurate appNot easy to get the target specially if you are shooting on 20 yards or over ,obviously rifle calibre will be an absolute waste of money.Version: 2.1.31

Works, but could be Waaaaaay better.Cartridge is well made, the target is decent, could be a bit brighter, the phone holder is cheap and not a good height, however the app is where the real problem is. It just doesn’t pick up the target well at all which makes it hard to fit the phone to pick up the laser light. Also the app, after you finish your training, has a small glitch (not to mention that if you move the phone slightly you’ll lose the proper target picture showing your shots) but it also covers the information with a huge bar saying start over, share etc. that information shouldn’t be included in the image shared. And finally, it sticks to have rack the slide each time. That’s something I kind of assumed upon purchase, but after watching a video, I assumed there was a way around it seeing as they had a gentleman doing just that. Great idea, not so great execution..Version: 1.3

Duped to write a review; Look elsewhere for a laser productStrikeman’s laser system is NOT the best, but it is also not the worst. Their laser system provides an alternative and cheaper option to going to the shooting range. The quality of the Strikeman product is acceptable; but the price could be better for what you get, and the app needs update. HOWEVER, The Company's recent practice of offering a promotion to “Review our app and get a FREE laser cartridge” and then not fulfill their side of the agreement after a review is submitted, is UNACCEPTABLE. It matters not whether Strikeman was either ill prepared to do a promotion (not expecting such a large volume of responses), or it was a clever scam by Strikeman to gain “free”product reviews: both reflect negatively on how Strikeman treats its customers. Regardless, reviews for any Company who solicits reviews of their product with enticement of “free” gifts, should be questioned for validity and accuracy. Look elsewhere; I will no longer purchase a Strikeman product..Version: 1.15

Save your money and your lifeThere are other time proven methods of dry fire practice concepts available that do not cost a penny. Yes, dry fire is a great way to practice skills at home safely but you do not need Strikeman to do this. Ask any range instructor or search online. Be aware that you cannot get your money back if not satisfied with Strikeman after 15 days from purchase. So figure out if you like it very quickly. The app is glitchy as users have reported. You have to rack the slide after each fire. Sometimes if the lighting is not just right, the app starts recording erroneous fires that can’t be erased from your logged history. Don’t rely on that playing this game will allow one to improve accuracy with a real gun when needed most. Go practice at the range with an instructor or experienced individual learning basic concepts. They are not hard to learn. That is how you will save on money on ammo and build confidence..Version: 1.5

Good Hardware terrible softwareThe laser bullet is great and the stand, while flimsy, works well enough. The problem is the app. When I first got it it was difficult to set up but it worked if the phone was close and the lighting bright enough. Calibration made sense but was a little off. Setting distance every time was obnoxious and it doesn’t say if the distance is how far you are away from the target or how far the phone is from the target. There is no way to clear history so all the garbage shots from calibration adjustments muddle your progress and results. There is also no way to set a delay to be able to work on draw to first shot. Basic functionality seems a simple update. Now, as of the mid June update, the app is unusable. Calibration no longer works. If the app is updated with auto calibration and basic features it could be really good. I want this system to work so if you need alpha or beta testers to make these upgrades, I would be happy to help. Lastly, some replacement orings would be nice for when there go bad..Version: 1.4

APP NEEDS FURTHER DEVELOPMENTThe target and phone holder are well made and it is easy to set up the session on the phone app. The problem is in the app itself. It does not count the shots accurately. It counts sometimes more and sometimes less than you actually shot. Worse is that when you end the session and download the target screenshot to your photos you see that you have a group centered in the target but the app scores you as a 4 average when you can clearly see by your saved target that not one shot was outside the 7 ring. And you can see the laser flashes correlating with the centered screenshot as you shoot. So why such a swing in the scoring? Worse yet you just have a running total average in your history with no way to clear it. Like I said the screenshot gives you an accurate record of your session sort of like a paper target at the range but this is in no way an app that can track improvement in form because it is incapable of setting a baseline in the first place and inaccurately scores each successive session. You do not need to create an account so deleting and reinstalling the app would be the only way to start over when your history gets so skewed by the inaccuracy of the app. This IS a cool concept so STRIKEMAN developers please take my review as constructive criticism and squash these bugs. Thank you..Version: 1.5
