What is Joon: Behavior Improvement App? Description of Joon: Behavior Improvement App

1) Constantly nagging and arguing with your child?
2) Is your child not motivated to complete their daily tasks?
3) Does your child struggle to remember and stick to their daily routine?

If you answered "YES" to at least one of these, then Joon is exactly what you are looking for!

Recommended by Child Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Pediatricians, and Special Education Teachers, Joon is the future of motivating neurodivergent children. Using a child-friendly video game (for ages 6-12), Joon helps motivate your child to focus and stay on top of their daily routine, tasks, & habits.

**JOON’S GOAL**

Help motivate your child with ADHD, ASD, ODD, General Anxiety, or Depression to focus and complete their daily tasks while learning basic responsibility and independence. Not only does Joon make it extremely easy to motivate kids to do important tasks using a video game, but it also teaches them valuable life skills that they won’t be able to learn in school. We’ve helped over two hundred thousand families complete more than 1M+ tasks, so why can't we help you?

**HOW IT WORKS**

Assign tasks as "Quests", then the video game does the rest.

1) Create a few tasks that your child struggles with the most (such as brushing their teeth, getting ready for school, etc.)

2) Your child chooses a virtual pet (called a Doter) to feed, wash, and grow. In order to take care of their pet and play the Joon video game, they must first complete the tasks you've assigned them.

3) Once completed, you will get a notification to review and approve/reject your child's completed tasks. If approved, your child will receive coins to use to care for their pet and unlock different parts of the video game!

4) As your child completes more and more tasks, they will develop habits and improve their daily routine - all because they want to play a video game!

**THE PARENTING TOOL YOU NEED**

+ We make it easy to manage your child’s tasks and add in your existing routine.

+ We'll do the reminding to help your child stick to their routine. No more nagging from your end.

+ Your child will stay motivated to do the tasks assigned to them. In fact, 90% of kids on Joon complete all tasks assigned.

+ Choose from a large list of research-backed activities to help your child build important life skills that teach independence.

Joon is only a year old and already has the attention of press, parenting publications, and parenting experts. To see the complete list, visit our website here: https://joonapp.io

**HOW TO GET STARTED**

1) Install Joon on your device, create your family, and select a few beginning tasks you’d like your child to work on.

2) Help your child set up their account so they can see the tasks that you’ve assigned them. You can have them download Joon on their own device or share you phone.

3) Once your child completes their tasks, you can review and approve them to make sure they were completed correctly.

4) Once approved, your children receive coins and experience points that let them feed, level up, buy things, and progress in the game with their virtual pet. As your child continues to progress in the game, they actually progress in real life too!

5) Keep adding quests (and we’ll recommend you new ones too) to help your children develop good habits! Your children cannot grow on their own. Make sure to stay involved in the process and keep assigning new quests as needed to allow your children to continue helping, learning, growing, and progressing in the game.

Joon: Behavior Improvement App Pros

Great so far!Joon has been helpful getting my 8 year old daughter to stay focused on her household tasks. I like that you can curate the quests and rewards, and how many coins for each. We created them both together which was a nice activity and helped give her a better understanding of what goes into making our home run smoothly. She’s proud of her responsibilities now, and looks forward to checking off items from her list. App is slightly pricey for me as a single mom, so we’ll commit to a year to set good habits for now..Mcho2815Version: 3.83

Great APPThis APP has helped so much. I put little tasks on for my almost 4 year old son and where we used to have meltdowns he now does them when I remind him that he needs to earn the pennies to feed his pets. My son has suspected additional needs and struggles with emotions and following simple tasks so this has been a life changer for us. We still have a long way to go but it is so nice to have this bit of help. I love how he gets excited and wants to go and see what he needs to do to make his pets happy..Sandy_lou78Version: 3.61

Joon: Behavior Improvement App Cons

Not a “family” ADHD appSo this isn’t a family ADHD app as advertised. It is an app to make your ADHD child complete preferred tasks, tasks set by (probably) NT parents. I see how the novelty could motivate an ADHDer for a short time. The tasks set by these (probably) NT parents appear as *quests* for the ADHD child to overcome and accomplish. As an adult with ADHD, I see how the *quests* could trigger enough dopamine for an ADHD child (or me an ADHD adult) to complete. That dopamine triggered by novelty will probably drive that ADHD child to achieve the dictated *quests* for perhaps a few days. The *quests* will lose their novelty factor very quickly and stop triggering dopamine. Once the novelty and the dopamine reaction wears off, the *quests* will no longer be effective. The app tells you that this is THE solution for managing an ADHD brain, but that is untrue at best, and a bare faced lie at worst. I am middle aged and have struggled with ADHD that whole time. My child is teenaged and has struggled with ADHD that whole time. I believe these years of experience to be factual and insightful to those parents who don’t experience ADHD, and have an ADHD child. This app isn’t the solution it claims to be. The solution is to build momentum, not insist on motivation. ADHDers cannot experience motivation. The only way we can achieve multiple tasks is to build momentum. Make “momentum” your go-to word, and just pretend “motivation” does not exist. It isn’t a real word and it doesn’t mean a real thing. I, as an adult ADHDer, have to build momentum. I write my list for the day and always start with the easiest task. Sometimes that easiest task is just to fill the kettle and flick it to boil. The next easiest task would be to make a cup of tea. Next easiest could be to arrange the cups that need washing into one place. These simple tasks that build momentum may be tasks that NTs manage without even thinking. It should be easy to boil the kettle and make a simple cup of tea, right? You would probably make that cup of tea and balance your whole financial income and outgoings at the same time. No. It just isn’t that easy for us. We simply CANNOT function as expected. We can’t. We will destroy ourselves with thoughts of inadequacy because everyone else manages triple our maximum achievements. That’s inevitable, BUT if our parents accept that we are disabled and just boiling the kettle exhausts us, we grow from a place of acceptance, and that inevitable feeling of inadequacy is lessened. So, anyway, don’t use this app if your child is an ADHDer. They cannot possibly achieve with it for more than a few days. Instead, just accept that they are disabled and cannot achieve as much as you expect, of as fully as their same aged peers. Be a good parent to your disabled child. Do that by seeking knowledge and insight from adult ADHDers. We’re the only voices that count. Don’t immerse yourself in groups that consist of NT parents of ADHDers because the see our differences, but they cannot ever feel them. Good luck!.EmmaAistonVersion: 3.17

Habitica but tamagotchiI am the kid who uses the game part of the app, but I do know it is subscription based. I wanted to ask the devs if they could make it a one time purchase so it doesn’t become too pricey for parents. For parents who want to get this and the other part for their kids, I would recommend if your child is a bit lazy or if your kid doesn’t have the motivation, but the amount of money you’d have to pay is too expensive for me to not worry about my mother’s finances. Overall, it is a good game that helps motivates kids, but it is expensive. Habitica is a lot like it, but your kid doesn’t have to actually confirm they did anything, so it would be pretty useless if your kid lies. This app has you approve it, but costs money. It’s the lesser of two evils anyway, so I’d recommend for ADHD parents (like my mother) or parents who just struggle with getting their kid ready to be a good member of society. Overall, would give it 5 stars if not for the fact it costs money. (P.S. if you think my wording sounds like an adult, it’s not. I just have a stupidly large vocabulary.) Bye!.Vioindarling/NekomancerVersion: 3.98
