Sonos for Positive User Reviews

App updates should be tested better prior to releaseI love the sound of my Sonos system (Beam, 2 x One and Sub). I bought it two years ago when the Beam first came out, while I love the system, I have a long term, ongoing love/hate relationship with the app. EVERY time an update is pushed to the app, I have connectivity issues for weeks, sometimes months. I am a tech savvy person, I fix my parents and friends electronic issues regularly, but the issues with the system and app are app specific. This latest update has asked me to “find” my system (unplug each device and reset the router), I have, it worked and the next day, it’s magically gone again. I have received emails from Sonos asking if I wanted to beta test and I didn’t respond for this very reason, if I have ongoing issues when they update the app when they think it’s good, why would I want to experience issues more frequently. Sonos, you have wonderful equipment, get a better software development team, your app is entirely too buggy on a long term basis. Thanks..Version: 13.0.2

Sonos the only way.I sell Sonos to my clients. In a smart package with Lutron, Ring, and either Emtek or Level for their smart locks. I used to sell Control 4 for all of those, and it is twice to three times more expensive than all of the above mentioned vendors combined. And Sonos just always works if you have good Wi-Fi. Which is true of all the smart products I integrate for customers. I know the forums that have a few people with issues that don’t get resolved. Buy in my experience of 10 years with Sonos, it almost always is Wi-Fi issues or how the network they have is set up. So, I rely on Sonos so that I don’t have to get calls or service issues. And above all my customers love the App. Usually it is their favorite or at least top 3. At home, I have an Arc, rear Ones, Sonos Sub, and it sounds as good to me (I know I’m not an expert on sound) as some of my clients $200,000 media rooms. For $1900. Until I see something better on the market, and that makes sense for my customers, which I haven’t in over a decade. I support and love Sonos!.Version: 14.12

Smooth upgradeThe new Sonos S2 app is able to find all my speakers & music subscriptions and migrate them without any issues. I can now delete the old Sonos S1 app on my iPhone..Version: 12.0

Sonos 2What absolute rubbish. Taken a good service to a sales job, Sonos, I have already bought your products, I don’t want to buy more. I would however like to use the ones o have, which at the moment I cannot. You are lucky there is not a star less than one, because you would get a point 01..Version: 12.0.1

No wifi....no use.I am disappointed that I have purchased a premium stereo product which only allows use if you have wifi at home in setting up. I only require prepay via my iPhone to attend to my internet needs prior to this product. I could have purchased something else at less than half the price which would immediately connect via Bluetooth. Surely this is a basic function that needs to be addressed which is standard across all other competitor’s product! Frustrated. :(.Version: 12.0.1

For my nosy neighborsI live in New York and the walls are paper thin in all apartments. So I originally had a beats beatbox speaker . it was loud enough but if I maxed out the speaker you’d hear the bass more than anything . I wanted something that I could hear the music clearly . I was tired of my neighbors listening to my every conversation and then repeating my business to any who would listen . so my brother got me sonos 1 speaker (not sold anymore) but when I tell you my neighbors hated me !!! I loved it . I played music all day and night . then I got a sonos second generation for my bedroom because they could still hear my conversation from the back of the apartment when I found out the speakers sync to each other and I think I almost cried .BEST INVESTMENT EVER !!!!!! And the music sound amazing ! So clear and it’s so loud and if I have both speakers on at the same time it sounds like I’m at a concert ..Version: 13.1.2

Good SupportMost of all I like the support that I get. Would stick with Sonos because of that ..Version: 15.3

Simply the BestDoes it seem hyperbolic to say SONOS is one of the best investments I’ve ever made? Maybe. But is it true? Heck yeah! I use all my speakers every day, and the SONOS app makes it all possible. Using the SONOS app, I can seamlessly play different music for different people in different rooms using different accounts like Apple Music, SoundCloud and Sonos Radio; I can unite the speakers to play the same in all rooms; I can use voice control when cooking or other activities make fidgeting with my phone a challenge; and I can switch from music to movie watching, giving my den theater-quality audio. I can even take my waterproof SONOS Roam into the shower with me for a much needed wake-up jam session (or to get the morning news OR to continue the Audible book that kept me awake too late the night before). For mediaphiles of almost any sort, SONOS speakers — and the app that makes the magic of SONOS all possible — are indispensable..Version: 14.10

App Has full screen adsThe app is okay, but does weird things like send you out of the app to review the TOS but approve it back in the app. Probably the most frustrating is the full page ads that pop up regularly..Version: 12.0

Great appI would love to have a simple way of stopping Sonos volume going up when changing tv volume. It’s great with movies but not for general tv.Version: 14.0.4

No good.New app doesn’t work as well as the old one. Unresponsive. Keeps telling me no system found. Very frustrating..Version: 12.0.6

If you’re reading this, you’ve arrived at the best home audio experience I’ve ever heardSonos, thank you for maintaining the highest quality audio, the new App is delivering a more cohesive experience. The new App has also given me a more pleasurable way to upgrade the previous system and it’s amazed me how the developers have thought through improving the customer experience making it easier and giving us the perfect audio experience every time 🙏👍.Version: 14.20

Stand by the devices that have trouble.Everything went smoothly for me. I checked the hardware comparability list which clearly listed the play5: gen1 and a few others that wouldn’t be compatible, no problem I just have the playbase and bunch of play1s. Downloaded the app and proceeded to push the updates with several notices of errors however I waited about 5-8 minutes and most of them finished updating on their own. Two play1s failed and when I tried them again only the ones I was immediately next to would finish. I don’t know if its that they are using our phone’s Bluetooth but I did get a notice asking if it could use it prior to the update. So that’s my advice check the compatibility list, stand next to the trouble speakers while attempting the update and you may have to try several times. 4 stars only for the update process but as far as functionality almost identical to Sonos S1 so far..Version: 12.0.1

Fantastic systemIt does what it says on the tin. Never had a problem crossing over from the old to new app. Every thing works slick can not understand why sooo many people are having problems. Just bought the new arc with the 3rd gen sub. Absolutely fantastic sound. Worked in music studios for the best part of 15 years so I know sound quality. I had a small snag with connecting up virgin media through the tv come arc. Rang up sonos had a bit of a wait but very patient person talked me through it. No problems after that. Can not fault the system congrats to Sonos. As far as the look of the app is concerned it’s a app like all the rest get over it !!! Worse things happened on the Titanic !.Version: 12.0.5

New app has destroyed Sonos SystemCompletely unreliable! Sometimes it works sometimes not. Sound drops from some speakers randomly. Went for there days not being able to choose music so the system simply could not be used. If you don't choose music it won’t work. My wife and I could control the old system flawlessly from either of our phones. Now, the phones conflict. If one is using the other can’t make any changes. The thousands of dollars invested in this system is essentially lost on a totally unreliable sound system. My frustration is quickly becoming anger. Soon I’ll be demanding my money back for all ten of my speakers! The problems started a few months before the new release. I suspect that they were affecting the old app while working on the new one. This is a serious problem. Would rate it less than one atar if I could..Version: 12.0.2

Sonos S2 is a seismic flopMy Sonos used to be the most reliable thing in my house but after the introduction of the (forced) S2 app I have had nothing but problems. It’s so annoying I’m close to selling my system and buying something different. Shame on the team at Sonos for destroying a perfectly wonderful product. If you’re new to Sonos or thinking of buying one... don’t. Don’t waste your money or energy you will waste trying to work it..Version: 12.0.6

Home theatre systemBest sound system ever.Version: 13.0.5

Great systemSounds fantastic, streaming system support is second to none and the app just works. Easy to setup too. Feature request: lossless and spacial support for Apple Music.Version: 14.19

Just not right!Still not working properly with Apple Music??? Just crazy that it is taking sooo long to sort this out.Version: 12.0.6

ClunkyBought the Sonos to have a system that would work seamlessly and we could add more speakers etc if needed. It’s so clunky, every time you turn the tv on you need to open the app and reset the system. The sound is amazing, just poor networking on their behalf. No I don’t want the TV through one speaker in the loungeroom and the radio streaming through the other loungeroom speaker!.Version: 13.0

Airplay2 much improvedSystem software upgrade that you get with the new version has made AirPlay so much more reliable. I hardly use this software now just to perform system upgrades..Version: 12.0.5

I cannot believe products are not backwards compatible! After spending an absolute fortune on 3 different full systems for my house, I now find that adding a new play 5 to my system will not work!! I was such a believer in this system, and believed that all new products would be backwards compatible to Sonos S1! What a waste of time and money.... I’m exceptionally disappointed in the developers for not considering your existing client base!.Version: 12.0.1

RomeBrilliant product, now have 2.Version: 13.2.2

LOVE LOVE LOVE SONOS!Sonos has made it SO EASY to enjoy my music wherever I want to in the house and on the go! I’ve been a huge fan of Sonos since the early days when they became a solution to powering a set of patio speakers. Since those early days I’ve continued to add components throughout my house and I LOVE how they all integrate together. I really appreciate how Sonos makes continuous improvement on their products. Last summer, they offered me the chance to upgrade my old components to new ones with 30% off offers for each older component(including the remote and dock I hadn’t used in years). I jumped at the chance. Also I got a gift of the Sonos move which is both WiFi and Bluetooth enabled, so I can take high quality sound everywhere! I’ve already preordered the new Roam, which is a smaller version of the Move, using one of those 30% off offers. A great product that only gets better! Thanks Sonos!.Version: 13.0.2

FrustratingIt used to work good but after a few updates it keeps stopping then starting again, or when I am trying to connect it says ‘unable to connect.’ I’ve tried trouble shooting techniques and it works for awhile then does it again..Version: 14.0.2

No problemsDespite the negative reviews I upgraded as I have 7 compatible Sonos units. The upgrade went perfectly and the system sounds great. The interface is fine and is easy to navigate. Not too many changes so it is easy to get up and running quickly. No complaints..Version: 12.0.3

ExcellentBest add on sound system if your into great listening yeah are you mum!!!.Version: 14.0.2

Simply own SonosI’ve had sonos for some 8yrs now and have 10 speakers dotted around home and work. Outstanding system and service! Simply own sonos as your home entertainment system!.Version: 12.2.6

Simply the bestI love my Sonos system - every room has speakers that just work - perfectly - providing great sound. The app is the heart of the experience. From 1000s of radio stations, all the streaming services from high quality classical to heavy rock… at the touch of a button. We use Sonos as a family - it is our morning alarm clock, to bedtime companion. The app just works, works well. One of the best features is the way it is used in optimising the sound in every room (Tuning the sound quality for the shape and dimension of a room). If I had a complaint - it is the start time of the app. Unless on a very latest iPhone - it can take a few seconds to start. So what should be a quick change in volume - can be a faff. A minor gripe..Version: 14.18.1

Sonos it worksWe have a grade 2 listed building and having cables everywhere was not an option. I listened to a demo and that was it, Sonos is plug and play and with a well thought out selection of speakers and systems that also linked to my old turntable. Sonos just works, take it out of the box and plug in and bingo you are up and running. The sound is excellent and the flexibility to have different music in every room or the same track in all rooms. The design of the units are stylish and will look great for years and the app is clear and simple to follow my comment to Sonos please keep it that way, I will and have recommended Sonos to friends..Version: 14.16

Can’t handle the bugsWhen the app works, it’s the same as the previous version. When it doesn’t and speakers disappear mid listening session or suddenly you are “Unable to Connect,” it’s infuriating. God forbid you want to switch stations or songs... you’ll undo anything you fixed the previous day. There can literally be sound coming out of a speaker and the app will be unable to see it. The issues are resolvable (you basically end up re-adding the speaker... sometimes 3-4 times), but it can take minutes to up to 30 minutes depending on the situation-it was a 20-minute fix session that prompted me to finally review. That wouldn’t be so bad, but it happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. Only the days that I only listened to one thing on one speaker have I NOT had an issue I had to fix. I don’t buy the user-error arguments here. I never had issues like this with the previous app/firmware, and my WiFi config is exactly the same. If there’s a universal cause that is my fault, great, tell me what it is, and I’ll fix it. This app was not ready for prime time. The number one development rule in every software company I’ve worked for is you can’t break your existing customers. I love SONOS, but I feel like I’m driving a Ferrari with two flat tires at the moment..Version: 12.0.5

SonosLove it when it works but it’s often in and out. Why is my reception always good on other devices but waivers in and out via Sonos?.Version: 12.1.1

Great sound and appWorks great. The Sonos radio and playlists are great. Just wish I was able to skip a track in the Sonos lists..Version: 12.2.2

Fully back in love again.Even though I am one of the biggest Sonos fans, some time ago I complained bitterly about an update taking away the “time remaining” figure from the track progress display. The remaining time would show initially then fade out after a few seconds. A small thing maybe but I found it very annoying. I have just noticed that the persisting time remaining figure seems to have been restored - it again now shows throughout the length of the track. Thanks, Sonos, thank you, thank you..Version: 13.1

Totally regret the update To Sonos S2When I got Sonos 1 it was simplicity itself and I loved every minute of using it. When I upgraded to Sonos 2 voluntarily it became a headache, it crashes out, cannot find desktop folders and is now apparently dead. It first crashed out and all music file folders disappeared. They have now come back but do not connect because they are not there. You work it out because I can’t. I have even tried to go back to Sonos 1 which worked perfectly, but Sonos will not let me do this as it is not compatible. According to their original statements that was not the case, it was just going to be a better experience. I would dispute that statement. Very annoyed and none of the help pages seem to assist. If you have newer equipment then you have no choice and hopefully you will be ok, but if you, like me thought it would be an experience the you would be incorrect..Version: 12.0.5

Sonas Argus 5.1 great and easy setup. Easy clear as you could imagine control shared by everyone.Great and easy setup however after 3 months operating perfectly bugs have set in. Now sound through my arc every time I change channel or turn tv off. Have to disengage my cable HMDI to allow the hmdi arc to reconnect. Only happened this week and every attempt to resolve is fruitless. Can anyone advise..Version: 13.4

Love our SonosUnbelievable sound and brilliant on the big TV 👌.Version: 14.18.1

New App is AWFULI admit I tend to default to new versions of apps, so shame on me for not researching S2. But MUCH bigger shame on Sonos for putting this app out in the world - especially when people are at home more than usual due to an international pandemic - when it has so many shortcomings. I chose Sonos years ago and have loved it because it’s not Bluetooth and my music doesn’t get interrupted every time I receive a text or phone call. But this new app is about to make me rethink things. I CONSTANTLY have to refresh the app, unplug my speakers to test everything or both. And even that doesn’t fix the problems. It will literally disconnect mid-song with no explanation. And tries to blame it on my WiFi. I worked from home even before COVID, so my internet/WiFi is NOT the problem. And now, when I try to go back to the old app, it tells me my system isn’t compatible. I’m beyond infuriated.....Version: 12.0.1

Seamless So Far...This has been a seamless upgrade for me. Took about three minutes to upgrade. All you had to do was download the App and it detects your system on the network. The rest is history, including the old S1 App. Also, I don’t get the clamoring about all the new features and that this is just lipstick on a pig. The upgrade here is intended to manage a lot of the things in the background and enable all the new products with the next generation software. If you’re having issues connecting then perhaps it’s your network or internet. Overall it just worked when I downloaded. All my speakers work great still and it was glitch free so far. I think people take for granted how hard this stuff is with their 1 and 2 star ratings? How can you rate an App one star if you haven’t even tried to use it? (There are several reviews that give one star but then go on to say they haven’t installed it yet)..Version: 12.0

Sonos...thank youI did a lot of going and back and forth before I bought my first Sonos speaker (and now the owner of many) because I had always been a Bose person but after reading more on how far Sonos was ahead on WiFi connection speakers I decided to buy the Sonos (not to mention the aesthetics of the Sonos are nicer) - later I started becoming so disappointed in the compatibility of “old” speakers that I had paid a lot of money on with my new speakers and the app with the new ios updates with all of the extra steps that I now had to go through - I called Sonos and was advised this was not going to change - then one day out of nowhere it did change and it was as easy as before - now with this new update to the app it is even better and just has even a nicer look to the screens - thank you Sonos for doing the extras to continue to make the experience perfect - love my Sonos!.Version: 12.0.1

Best portable speaker everI love using the Move outside in our front yard, on our patio, and in the house, too. The sound is great, the app is wonderful, and the connectivity is better than I’ve ever used. Being able to use the app through wifi is such a relief when people are over or you just want music. No phone call interruptions, no alerts from apps on the phone - just music. And such a great way to do it. I put the app on my wife’s phone, too, and she can now change the music whenever she wants. She has never used a music app with less frustration. Whereas she is not technologically inclined, the app is easy enough for her navigate and find exactly what she wants. So, less stress for me, too. Honestly, we haven’t even used the Move far enough away from the house to need the Bluetooth, but I know it will sound good when we do. We are already thinking about getting another Move for the house. Highly recommended, especially when using through wifi and the Sonos app..Version: 12.2.2

No sweat upgradeI had my reservations about upgrading after reading through the reviews. So I did the research, confirmed compatibility of the products I have; Sonos one, play 5, connect, boost. All were purchased in the last few years and were compatible. I downloaded the app and ran the update. It took less that 5 minutes and my system was back online. The app upgrade left the S1 app installed, not sure why since it no longer works after a successful upgrade. I’m also not a fan of the interface color but maybe in a future version we’ll get the option to change. I did have one issue with the app. I ran the update from my iPhone X with no issues. When I tried to install S2 directly from the App Store on my old iPhone 6 that I use as a dedicated controller it froze at the splash screen. I realized you have to accept the terms of agreement but direct install did not offer that step. I had to remove it and install from the S1 controller. Only then did I get to accept the terms of agreement and app loaded normally. Overall, an easy upgrade..Version: 12.0.3

Frustrated and disappointedEach time I open the Sonos2 app it fails to connect to wifi. Sometimes it resets by turning my wifi off/on. When that doesn’t work I reset the App. When that doesn’t work I rebooted my phone and iPad. When that doesn’t work, like today, the Sonos App screen freezes leaving me with nothing. This has been an ongoing problem since having to download the new app..Version: 12.0.3

Really good systemI love my Sonos system. It does glitch from time to time, but overall it is an awesome system. I have 5 zones. I have 2 Sonos One SL’s paired with a Sonos sub gen 2 , one of the latest Sonos amps driving a pair of Bose 251 outdoor speakers, one of the older Sonos amps driving a pair of Klipsch AW-650’s with a klipsch sub, one of the older Sonos amps driving 2 Definitive Technology in ceiling 6.5 inch speakers and a Sonos move. All of them sound great! I also added the Sonos boost because I was having a ton of problems with some of the zones not connecting to the app. I was almost to the point of returning all the Sonos equipment, until I got the boost. It made a world of difference. The app still needs some work. When I am listening to XM the song listed is not always the song playing. And the interaction with Apple Music is a lot different then the way the Apple Music app works. Bottom line, when it works correctly it sounds great and I love being able to control all the different zones..Version: 13.4

MoaningHonestly is anyone ever happy, yes it’s similar to the old version but it has a much fresher look and been bought inline with the modern times. No company carry’s on supporting products that have been out for years so why do these guys get such a hard time about it. Everything evolves and technology upgrades all the time. True lovers of a brand will upgrade with it and the others won’t but people saying they are worried about buying any new products because of this need to get a grip. If your not happy then don’t buy it, that’s your choice but shut up moaning about it and go and buy a speaker system that’s not as good because you know it won’t be, but then I suppose you can moan about that too 👍.Version: 12.0

Sound of musicThe healing sound of music in our lives is essential to our overall wellbeing. Music fills the void between the physical and the empty space that surrounds us. Beautiful music can only become food for the soul when the sound quality is as close to what the artist intended as possible. All my research kept brining me back to Sonos! Room by room I am adding the system and each time a new Sonos product arrives it not only changes the mood of the house but add a whole new dimension to the time I spend at home. When I unpack and set up each time I always seem to say to myself “This is a great product” thanks to the team at Sonos it’s really is a great product and service you have created..Version: 14.20

Odd system at the best of times, but comes in handy.I’ve had a Sonos 1 speaker for about two years now I think. Sometimes it works other times it doesn’t. Just updated the software to this one and away it goes again. But hey, seriously... I now have half a dozen devices in the house I can stream music on. Sonos speakers give good sound, but so does the Facebook Portal and I can talk to that one from across the room. Sonos is way overpriced anyway, which is why we only have the one. But to this software. It works. What else can I say. Very simple. Don’t really need it though. If I send my iPhone music to Bluetooth, or WiFi... I forget which I can stream it to the Sonos 1 anyway. So it just becomes another smart streaming speaker. 4 out of 5 for being super simple..Version: 12.0

Did have problems but now all fineI am surprised to see that others had problems with the App. I too did have problems of it dropping out and such but now since I updated my internet it runs really well!! I owe have three speakers to run and so far everything has been good 👍👍👍Great sound!.Version: 15.2.1

Awesome 70% of the timeI love Sonos. Issues are the maddeningly low quota of favourites that force me to delete stations and albums etc. And the sometimes not working connections to Apple Music which seem to resolve themselves despite my various interventions. Alarm setting is tricky and requires constant referencing of previously set alarms. The volume level is never consistent on my TV. I have to reduce on app then up on TV when it reaches into 90s. But when it works it all sounds terrific..Version: 13.1.4

Worst upgrade ever *update***update** Credit were it is due. The latest update to the app seems so far to have fixed the crippling connectivity problems. It’s just a shame that the new app was released with such fundamental problems. So this isn’t a pat on the back, but a reminder of the principles of First Time Right development. Before moving to S2 I had no problems with my Sonos. It was a great device and I recommended it to all of my friends. Since the upgrade I have had nothing but connectivity problems. And I can see from the reviews that this is pretty common. Worse still is that the developers seem to ignore this. They are literally destroying what was a great range of products. Honestly spend your money else where..Version: 12.1.2

Connect to the speakers would be goodAirplay via apple is what I use as unfortunately (because the content on Sonos radio is good) for a expensive high end product like this this app is applying. Speakers seem to randomly appear and disappear (whilst always being visible is you look with AirPlay!?!?) and I have been trying to rename one of my speakers for about 10 months and another for over a year. It is a extremely short sited thing for Sonos to do, make very good wireless speakers and then release an app that your lucky if you can connect to. The same happens on my wife’s phone and all other instillation I have of the app. 0stars for the app 1 for the content Sonos radio is bad I just never listen because the app is if your lucky it is slow and clunky and if your unlucky not working at all. Please Sonos could you sort this pigs ear of an app out so I can use all the features of my speakers properly. I have 9 Sonos speakers they are great BUT PLEASE SORT THE APP OUT IT IS UNUSABLE if it was not for AirPlay allowing me to connect to them I would have sold them. The “new” app that I have been using for age since it release is worse. Please it must be in your own interest to do this as a co look at the App Store reviews that are not reviews for ur speakers all talk about the same stability and connectivity problems..Version: 12.2.3

MASSIVE BATTERY DRAINThe new app causes massive battery drain when running in the background (I have an iPhone 8, latest iOS, etc etc). In one hour my phone, which was just sitting on my kitchen bench with the Sonos app running in the background, went from 100% charge to 70%. Have deleted the app and tried a fresh install. Still eats battery like crazy. Ugh..Version: 12.0

Delay of audio, not real timeI love the amazing sound. Lost one star because I wanted to use it as a small speaker for my digital piano as well as streaming music and video soundtracks. Unfortunately probably du to some onboard processing there is quite a delay of signal even when using the mini jack input. Unless there is some solution I haven’t discovered yet I cannot use it for this purpose. Still,it sounds great and is one of the few true stereo single units of it’s type on the market. If not for this one issue would definitely rate 5/5..Version: 13.3.1

Sonos play one with AlexaSo much easier for my husband to use as he is visually impaired, he thinks it’s wonderful..Version: 14.20

Ok once problems overcomeSo our experience with Sonos has been really hot and miss. Sometimes it worked others it didn’t. It was only after I mentioned to a friend how rubbish I thought it was I discovered you can ring up and get decent support. After one phone call lasting over an hour we’re all our problems solved. I had experienced months of distraction trying to make it work following all online solutions. The tech guy knew exactly what the problem was from the start, it was our sky router box. I followed all his instructions and the system has been trouble free for over a month now and works as it should. The sound quality has never been an issue but the app has been hit and miss if it worked or not. I rarely use the app now as Alexa is working all the time as is apple AirPlay. If you are having issues with the app and in the uk I seriously recommend ringing their support line, after months of frustration one call was a game changer..Version: 14.20

Sonos speakers are expensive but you get what you pay forSince I was a kid I always wanted a nice stereo speaker system. I never got one until I started out buying Sonos products. I start with two sonos play speakers which sounded amazing but eventually I wanted more bass. So I got the sub. Amazing room filling sound. Then I wanted surround in my home so I got the sound bar, not the arc but the lower one.(though I still want to buy the arc). Then I needed some speakers for my garage to work out… I got 2 play 5’s. Then I wanted some outdoor sound so I got 3 more play speakers. ( I never leave them out. I bring them in after every use). I am not rich. I bought these over the course of many years and loves them every step of the way. I can wait to get the arc once I save up enough for it. They are definitely pricey but if you love music the price is well worth it. I’ll never buy anything else..Version: 14.14

Improving but not perfectThe app can be pretty clunky, especially if you’re using Apple Music. I get quite a few tine out errors in the app but never when I’m using the Music app itself. I would plead with the developers to get it working with iOS automations please. I really want my speakers to automatically stream when I arrive at work. This can be done when streaming off the phone but I want to stream from the server..Version: 12.1.2

Most frustrating product I’ve ever boughtGreat if you hate having a good audio experience. I don’t think I’ve had a single day without connection issues… insanely frustrating, customer supports, who Elster equally useless, even recommended the answer on their community messageboard for fixing a problem which included putting the speakers in the freezer….. won’t be buying anything Sonos again..Version: 14.2

DavidAwesome products. Have Sonos in three rooms and roam for outdoors all work as per what is on the tin. David.Version: 13.3.2

Unreal QualityI use the Sonos Playbar on every room that has a TV so right under them and by themselves they impress. On the patio deck by the pool I power 8” woofer non Sonos rock speakers around the pool (4 of them) and also other wall mounted outdoor speakers with the amazing Sonos amps (what’s sound). In my family room I have a Sonos sub (WOW unchallenged bass) and ceiling speakers also with Sonos amps behind them for that incredible sound. Connecting living/dinning ceiling speakers also powered by Sonos amps so it all extends well (only thing missing another sub in that living room as well but waiting for the opportunity to do so). I swear by this stuff and find it difficult to think how Bose can even come close to competing. One more thing, the Sonos MOVE is an amazing extra toy for the beach or a room inside which reminds me, I want Sonos Ones in rooms without a TV. Need Sonos car stereos …..Version: 13.4.1

It's okNot much to say: it works, is easy to set up and aesthetically not intrusive. Can I tell the difference? Is it a sound experience? Sorry, can't tell the difference. Hasn't made any difference in console gaming, don't know when it comes to programs; and music -well, it's music. It's ok with karaoke. Does a program have to be promoted as surround sound? I don't pay much attention to all that; I don't watch movies that much. An idiot friend wet himself going on about it, so I purchased it; I guess I'm the idiot. It gets the job done; it doesn't blow me every time I listen to music or watch a movie..Version: 14.19

Lost your way?The upgrade process from the confusing and demanding communication about cancelling speakers etc to the poor reconnection to the ineffective upgrade process has left us disappointed in the product AND WE WERE HUGE ADVOCATES!! Please fix the upgrade systems issues - working from home now has caused even more frustration..Version: 12.0.2

Sound Quality seems betterAfter reading many of the reviews I decided to upgrade to S2 when I had some time to spend troubleshooting. The process went super smoothly and took less then five minutes. I did make sure before upgrading that all my equipment was compatible with S2 because using 2 apps to control only some speakers on a particular app would be a showstopper for me. My home network being quite good might have contributed greatly to my success, I have all ubiquiti UniFi equipment running my network basically commercial equipment, App seems to have a quicker response with the speakers and sound quality has improved. I would like for Sonos to have a dark theme option for the app but the white background is not a dead breaker. If you choose to upgrade I hope that you have the same results as I did and not deal with some of the nightmare stories in some reviews that were posted for this app. Good luck!.Version: 12.0

Excellent products, butI’ve been a sonos client for a long time. I’m also on your beta program. So when I call for support I do have some knowledge. I’m not an expert but do have an understanding. I called about one of my first play one speakers that seems to have a mind of its own and drops from my network off and on. Your support person came on the line but was hard to understand due to background noise. After explaining my issue instead of suggesting a possibly reset or helping me with troubleshooting options all I got was you need to buy a boost. Ok I get it. But he kept pestering me about the boost. I hung up and later was able to reset my speaker and reinstall it on my network myself. I hope this was a one-off situation as I’m constantly telling friends how great sonos is and how easy it is to use. So pay attention and take care of your base. FYI. I have your speakers in my living room. In my den. Surround sound in my master and my guest bedroom. A connect and a turntable..Version: 12.1

FrustratingFor such an expensive high end product, the software to control this system is absolutely disgraceful. With every update, it just seems to get worse. Are the people who write good reviews writing fake reviews on Sonos’ behalf or something? I’ve had a Sonos One for almost a year now and the app never works with it and instead have to use Alexa to operate it. Just purchased a Sonos Roam and it’s practically impossible to pair these speakers to create a stereo pair, keeps saying my wifi is not connected even though I know for a fact that it is, it’s just awful, absolutely awful. Do not waste your money on Sonos products, please trust me and the many reviewers having the same issues..Version: 13.0.5

Great productHad sonos for last few years, awesome product, love it!.Version: 12.2.5

QualityI’m a loyal and avid fan of the Sonos ecosystem. It’s one of those things, if your budget isn’t too restricted and you want something flexible and adaptable with quality in mind. Then Sonos is for you. My first purchase in our new home was the Playbar followed soon after, the immersive Sub to complement the 4K tv. This brought the sound and listening experience to an whole new level I have to say. The entertainment room is 7x6 metres so fairly big in terms of room space by today’s standards in new homes. Now, my only regret, I wish I purchased the Sonos Ones SL (a pair) sooner to complete the 5.1 setup.......OMG ! The sound is unbelievable, the music try’s in vain to escape but Sonos ensures it remains, wrapping you up so tight, pulling you in hard on low deep bass, then bringing you up as the mid ranges kick in. The low ranges play tantalising harmony's that take you to places the music creators intended to. I absolutely love it. I know it can be a bit pricey but as they say ‘proof is in the pudding sweatheart’..Version: 12.0.2

ReviewUsed Sonos for 7 years. Regular improvements and the current system is much more user user friendly and reliable. I have incorporated 3rd party speakers with 2 Sonos speakers and Sonos Amp.Version: 14.12

(Sound) Control freakReally love Sonos gear but this upgrade has stopped all other remotes working and there are no pop ups to help. Really annoying when you want to mute or adjust volume to have to trifle through all remotes only to remember is only the Sonos app. Backward step..Version: 12.2.2

Easy to useGood technology.Version: 14.8.1

Great systemI love my Sonos. For a self-confessed technophobe it was pretty easy to set up. I love being able to access overseas radio stations - I love that diversity. My husband had some fun and connected his iPad via Bluetooth and played the sound of a roaring F1 car… it was quite funny. I plan to purchase more speakers for other rooms in the house..Version: 13.1.4

No in sincNew app doesn’t work as well.Version: 12.0.5

Easy to use appGood to see familiarity with the old interface, which makes navigating and ‘doing what you’ve always done’ easier, but with a definite performance upgrade. Waiting for the arc and gen3 sub to be delivered to see how the new technology is viewed and managed. Worth noting the existing system transferred seamlessly across when installed..Version: 12.0

None compareThis is hands down the best whole house system money can buy. Not only is the system set up room to room probably the easiest plug and play system I’ve ever installed, but the sound is incomparable. Over the years I have built this system with every product offered, Stereo paired Ones in each room, the garage and the porch, the Arc and Sub with Ones as surround in the living room, stereo paired Fives in the sunroom, and a Move for the deck and yard. My house sounds like a concert hall I kid you not. I absolutely love walking room to room and outside with music following me. That has always been a pet peave of mine with traditional stereo systems, listening to a really good song, have to leave the room and not being able to continue listening to the same song. Sonos has made that ancient history. The really blow you away thing is they are all controlled by the super simple to use app. Not only can you control the entire system with a finger tip, you can individually control each room. Just incomparable, these guys have figured it out. There is nothing on the market that even comes close..Version: 14.4

Easy migration to nee Sonos upgraded app but wifi connection keeps dropping within thr sppNo issues to migrate onto my iPhone 8S. Everything worked well for a day then when i launched the app, it could not find the wifi. Frustrating..Version: 12.0.4

Flawless updateGot no problem updating my system. I can now use groups and the new controller UI. Very happy.Version: 12.0

Perfect functionality but an awful interfaceFairly new to Sonos but definitely not new to smart tech. I have smart lighting, heating, blinds, cctv and pretty much everything else that can be controlled through apps. The functionality is all there, fast loading app, robust connectivity and access to some powerful features like room tuning, previously reserved for professional use. However the user interface (UX) was given little or no thought. I’m not sure it has ever been real-world tested, where users of various ages and tech ability use the common features as they would day to day. Navigation/menu driven access is ancient, the most usable apps have icons or graphical interfaces with quick access to key tasks. Different sources and even programs have variations in the mix. Changing from tv to Netflix for example will often require a volume change, eq tweak or surround sound level change. Yet these most used functions are buried layers deep in a primitive, text driven navigation more like an online DIY store. The Sonos kit is outstanding, in quality, performance and clarity. The hardware excels in every regard, looks stunning and carries thought behind the design and feel. I just think the app could do with a similar treatment, customisable initial screen perhaps or a home/landing screen quick access to settings we frequently reach for. Minor gripe as the Sonos experience so far has exceeded my previous system from that company who’s name is a bit like Boss !!.Version: 12.1

SonÀ l’occasion, on perd le son. Et à chaque ouverture, il faut régler le niveau du son. Il ne garde pas les ajustements ni au niveau du son ni au niveau des appareils. Merci.Version: 15.3

Obsolescence!I’m very happy with the Sonos system functionality and audio quality. Rather peeved though to learn that my 5 year old soundbar will no longer receive over the air updates..Version: 12.2.2

Beware of this update!!!Took me over an hour to get my system back up & running after installing this update. Wouldn’t find or recognise speakers, wouldn’t connect to speakers, forgot wifi for all speakers. Left me totally tearing my hair out. Now my main system often won’t show up, just a single speaker. Only way to regain control of the system is to quit the app, turn that single speaker off, re-open app with speaker still off & then my main system is there & I can reboot the other speaker. Pretty pathetic..Version: 13.1.4

No surprises hereThe app is very similar to the original Sonos controller which is now called Sonos S1 . I’m pleased that the user interface remained almost unchanged with small adjustments. The app works with my new port, 2 play 1s and ikea symfonisk lamp as well as ikea remote controls. It connects with Tidal without any issues. Probably the only thing worth considering is to unplug any devices which have been discontinued in order to start the app for the first time. I can now see Sonos plays high def radio from tidal as well as standard quality. My only comment would be that masters format records should be indicated so it’s easy to select them. Apart from that pretty trouble free experience so far !.Version: 12.0

Good. Here’s my wishlistPlease add settings to adjust upward firing atmos speaker levels (for high ceilings or added effect). Please add multiple trueplay tuning configurations for moving speaker locations. Please add input format on the now playing screen. Please add dual sub support in stereo..Version: 13.0.4

Struggles with YouTube music premiumSeems confused between YouTube and YouTube music..Version: 15.3

Buggy, buggy, buggyFigure it out gang! So frustrating. App won’t connect to WiFi, even though every other app on the phone works fine. Won’t allow me to submit diagnostics because of the WiFi problem again. Set alarms sometimes work, which is worse than never working. I’ve been late to work because I was relying on it to wake me up, like it had done consistently for the past year. How do I trust this thing again? Bad lag from the time I pick up my phone to the time I can turn up/down the music or change the song. Sometimes I have to wait a full minute. Website says I can continue to use the S1 app with my old equipment if I prefer, but somebody’s lying. Since I signed on the the new app my equipment is now listed as incompatible. TV sound still connects, and I can manually turn on the last internet radio station I was playing on the app, but I have to use the buttons on the speaker and I can’t change the station. Update: After several days and repeated attempts to delete and reinstall the app I appear to have regained control. How long will it last? Pins and needles! The excitement is excruciating. What to expect from here is a question I cannot answer..Version: 12.0.2

Seems almost exactly the sameWas I expecting too much? I thought this was going to be a whole new UI. Largely indentical to the old app. I mean it’s fine but seems like kind of a fuss over nothing...?.Version: 12.0

Best Surround Sound SystemTruly worth every penny. Very happy with the purchase. Dolby Atmos and 3D Sound is absolutely stunning..Version: 13.3.2
