✓ Not happyI like the game but it is costly the further into it you get. You use up energy so quickly! You use up crystals buying energy and also to keep playing the game your currently in. Plus the fact how many crystals you have to use! You go through those very quick! Also, my eyesight’s not what it used to be, so the time limit on the hidden object games, aren’t long enough, so I go through a lot of extra crystals buying extra time. I want to keep playing this game but it’s getting too expensive!!!! Also, I’ve noticed that someone else is charging stuff on my credit card!!!!!!! I know this because there are things being bought on days I didn’t buy anything, plus things are bought that I don’t even buy!!!!! I don’t appreciate this one bit!!!! I have deleted the three players I friended on the game, but it continues to happen. Can you look into this and find out who’s stealing from me? ✓ ReviewI love this game but have had a lot of problems with it. Tech support usually helps pretty quick but this last problem I have not so quick. I finish a quest & it says that I can finish the assembly but that’s not the case. When I click on the location two of the assembly pieces that I’m missing aren’t even showing up as being able to be found there. So I’m stuck because I can’t assemble what’s required to move on in that book. It seems the further along in the game I get the harder it is. I’m am so close to removing this game & your other game I play Jewels of the Wild West because they have gotten so hard I only get frustrated because I can’t beat the levels & close out of the games. I thought the object of these games were to relax you & be enjoyable, they aren’t enjoyable if you only get frustrated because you can’t seem to beat them in order to move on. ✓ Good but nothing to rave about.It’s okay. It’s a fun little game that’s perfect for going your brain that little kick it needs to keep active. The interface in the library is a mess though too many details and pop ups and blinking icons hurts the eyes and there’s no way to get rid of the notifications above “friends” without making an account, which I’m not interested in. ✓ BoredYou play the game at the beginning you move on quite quickly, get lots of things able to achieve a lot then there is nothing, you play different modes in different books etc and you don’t get the puzzles out. You try to finish different collections . For example I played about 20 different modes to try and get the missing item for the collection and got nothing. Lift your game makers. ✓ Way too much of a money grabThis game is actually quite fun and looks good. However it is constantly trying to get you to spend money. I have never tried a game with so many commercials and offers. Some of the puzzles get very difficult with hidden objects that are so badly illustrated or hidden that you miss them even if you are looking right at them. This is designed to force you to spend money to get the tools for clues that you need. I just spent over 30 minutes trying the same puzzle 10 times without success. ✓ Way too much money to enjoy gameNice graphics and complexity. Shame that one can’t actually play without spending money to progress in a reasonable time. Always one block short seems to be the theme. Takes ages to earn enough in game so that you can get a tool to get that ‘one block short ‘ to win the challenge. Time to get energy back = hours + ‘one block short’ happening way above statistical average = monetary gain for company, but No enjoyment without spending money continuously. Already spent money, because I believe in paying for games, but this is way beyond anything I have seen in very elaborate games I play regularly and with those other games I don’t mind paying for season passes because they provide a good chance to play even without waiting for hours and having to spend money continuously. ✓ FrustratingEvery time I go to find an object, it’s not there until you find other objects. Majority of the time, can’t accomplish quest because what you need doesn’t show up even after you find all the required objects in the showcase. If you have to spend money to accomplish quests, then this game is not worth the time. Games are suppose to be fun not frustrating. ✓ Fun but too much going onMost of the searches are fun — not too easy but not impossible. A few are just too weird and hard to even figure out to play. I appreciate that the designers want to keep it from getting boring, but maybe ditch some of the really crazy ones. The main screen is just a jumble. It’s actually hard to touch the exact right spot to claim a prize or check inventory. When you complete a quest there’s an arrow that points to the prize you’ll claim; that arrow actually covers some of the components you need to claim the prize. There’s just too many stories going on. After just a week of playing, I have 4 books open. Each book has 3 chapters to play in. Each chapter has its own storyline going on. And there’s the special holiday story, too. The different stories all link, of course, but they don’t necessarily reveal in a nice linear storytelling way. And it means I stumble into new modes long before I play the exact point where the mode’s play is explained. The books & chapters are a cute way to link the play, but maybe finish one book’s story before opening more. I assume each book does eventually end. It’ll be a mess if they don’t. One feature this game really needs: highlight the unfounded item(s) after you fail a search. That is disappointing, as is the gathering of coins and nowhere to use them to get help with time or hints to clear a level. For example, I don’t see how 31 envelopes or some such thing can be collected in 14 moves - just impossible to do, plus the boosters are expensive. ✓ Scam likeI was enjoying the puzzles, even when it took a few attempts to solve but it has got to the point that unless you spend money it can take over 10 to 15 attempts to solve. ✓ Wish you could earn crystals easier and why can’t I open new booksYou are forced to purchase in app crystals because it’s almost impossible to earn them but they are required to play many games. This game could be great if it didn’t cost so much and when I asked the created how to earn more crystals within buying them, the answer was not true. You don’t get anymore than 1 crystal at a time. You have to play games that cost crystals to earn crystals??? In no way can you earn enough to sustain the game. So they will tell you that it is possible to play for free but after several months I don’t think that’s even remotely true. I still love the storyline, hidden object scenes and contests. But for the past few days I am so frustrated that I am on the brink of uninstalling for the same reason that I uninstalled the last time. I cannot emphasize enough how much I HATE spot the difference. I am on level 48 and have unlocked MANY of the boards. Right now every single one of them is the stupid “spot the difference”. If I wanted to play spot the difference I would have downloaded it. This is called hidden object. Not hidden object, forced into playing to progress spot the difference! *FIRST 4.5 STAR REVIEW* This is a really nice hidden object game, lots of boards to unlock with a great storyline. ✓ Very Sneaky MoveI play this game everyday, and have done so for a few years, so I know when something has been changed, added or removed. Within the last week you have removed all of advantages from the gift boxes. Before when you opened the gift boxes you would get a mixture of items to complete a series, booster items, energy, and coins, now all you get is energy and useless coins. I have opened all 60 boxes several times within the last week, only to get energy and useless coins that you can’t spend on anything. I have almost 2,000,000 coins, and they can only be used to open a new book. You can’t use them to purchase anything in the game, what a waste. But real sneaky move to remove all of advantage items from the gift boxes. What is the point of playing now, you won the points in order to open the gift boxes, now there’s nothing in them to help you. Really low move..Version: 1.35.3500
✓ Okay gameSome levels are hard and some are easy but the one problem for me is the higher the level you go the more energy you need to use and you can’t play some games without having a certain number of a specific item otherwise the game is great to and is great to practice time management. ✓ Entertaining, yet FrustratingLike the fact that we can do hidden object scenes or M3 boards. Graphics are gorgeous and the brief dialogue exchanges are fun. Early days still, but so far I am enjoying this game. Once the puzzles become far too difficult to complete w/o paid power-ups, I will revisit my review. 😂 EDIT: never thought it possible that a game so promising would end up sucking all the joy out of playing M3 for me. Yes, the levels need powerups to complete, despite the claims of the developers—or be played too many times to be fun—but I expected that w/FTP. What surprised me was the confusion all the various side quests (for lack of better description) would bring and that tapping on a powerup to learn what it does during a round would lock the “use” screen on. Also, I hate, hate, hate those clocks, lol. I am *so* confused by all the bells and whistles—they are gorgeous, though—that I can only play for 10 minutes at a time, if that. So many different stories to explore, but no option to choose less intense levels for a break. ✓ Great game but company didn’t give me items I purchasedI would give this game 5 stars but will explain below why I’m giving it 2 stars. As far as the game itself, It’s got great graphics, it’s very creative and the many locations offer the choice between hidden objects and match 3, which makes the game endlessly fun and challenging. My 2 star rating is because of an issue that I have when I purchased some game items and never received them but Google sure took my money. I submitted my issue through email and through the game, as they requested, and have followed up 4 times in the past 3 months and I get no response. You would think a trillion dollar company like Google wouldn’t keep my simple $1.06 but frankly, that’s what frustrates me the most. If it was a company that needed the money I would let it go but it’s a trillion dollar company. Hey Google, how about giving me my money back or the game items I paid for. ✓ Money hungryAnother game designed to get you to spend tons of real world money. I would’ve dealt with ads to get rewards. However that’s not an option. This game becomes too difficult too soon. I also hate the timed hidden object part. The match three gets to be ridiculous. When games are too difficult it is not fun for me. While I was intrigued by the theme and the storyline I could no longer tolerate the insane difficulty of the game. Not to mention having to win two or three sometimes four levels just to complete the quest was ridiculous. The need for energy to even get to play and then not getting that energy back if you win just took all of the fun out of the game. ✓ Ok game, but racistAlthough I enjoy the game and find the various graphics wonderful, when I get to “Journey to the West” first chapter, one of the items to be found was a modern looking mask, with silk fabric and sewn in straps. The storyline is that there is a volcano so they’re seeking a mask. Dude. Please. In ancient times masks don’t look like that. People wrapped their faces with clothes like in all sandy desert areas. This mask is shaped as a modern pandemic mask - and to use it only in the Chinese book chapter - it’s utterly racist. This continued association of anything pandemic to the Chinese culture is racist. By drawing a pandemic mask in association to Chinese culture, the makers of this game is implanting or reinforcing many people’s subconscious association of the pandemic blame to China - thus all Asians. It’s a very ignorant thing to do as all humans have our losses and griefs from the pandemic. You think those Chinese people who had to deal with the early days of massive death and being in the dark about how to treat COVID-19 - you think they wanted the pandemic? Being a doctor of Asian origin who worked through the pandemic, this is offensive - the ignorance, discrimination, and lack of compassion is astounding. It’s hurtful to anyone with Asian background. ✓ So soThis is a typical G5 game with all the annoyances of G5 games. One thing that drives me crazy about their games is the way they put a bouncing hand on the hint button. Do they have to insult the user by assuming we're all too stupid to know we have hints available and can use them. That hand is not only annoying but distracting in a timed game. Then's there's the assemblers to finish collections that rarely show up. Stop pushing these games as free to play when if you don't pay you are left with lots of things unfinished. Also it would be nice in this game if they would let you finish one story at a time instead of throwing other things into the mix. Why even bother doing stories when you're bounced around so much you lose the thread of the story. ✓ Confused as to purpose, but funThere is no clear explanation as to what various items do, or how energy, coins, etc work, so I’m unclear what to save, when, and what the overall purpose is. The various hints (fan, ink pot, etc) should have descriptions on what they do while you’re in the game playing so that you don’t have to remember each one - hard to do as a beginner, especially when several of the items never had explanations. Still not sure the purpose of all the dialogue, since they don’t clearly explain what all the items are, what they do, and why you’re collecting them. I just play because I am looking for hidden puzzle style games ever since PopCap games stopped being supported by Steam. They had the best P.I. hidden object/search games! Thank you, Ken Also when you’re investigating a scene and you make a wrong pick you take 5 seconds off the investigating time that’s not fair you cause the player to make rush decisions. In a real life investigation that wouldn’t happen. I’ve talked to people who’ve played the game and got frustrated with their investigating time being shortened they quit playing the game. ✓ Game freezesI was really enjoying playing this game, but after the update a problem has occurred where after completing a game in the ‘underworld’ the game freezes and I have to delete the app altogether and reinstall it for it to work again. Every time I try a game in the ‘underworld’ the same thing happens. As the underworld is the only place where you can get the daggers to open the presents it has made the game useless. ✓ Confusing game, greedy developersSo many things in progress at any one time, it is difficult to know where you are and what is happening. A clearer progression to work through would have been helpful. On completing each game various things are “won” including coins. There are very, very few items on which these coins may be spent to assist with the game. Almost everything requires that rubies are used to purchase items. Rubies themselves have to be purchased with real money, and they are not cheap. Any game, no matter how good it is, which shows such avarice on the part of the developers, is not for me. ✓ SherlockAfter playing for a while the games get so hard it’s impossible to win unless you buy crystals to extend the time or amount of goes. Be careful when buying crystals too as I’ve been charged twice each time for one set of crystals. I’ve contacted iTunes and G5 Entertainment each say not their problem and direct me to the other company. Finally iTunes said that G5 invoice them and they collect the money on G5 behalf so it must be G5’s problem as they are sending duplicate invoices and that makes sense to me. Sadly, as you make progress you inevitably reach seemingly impassable barriers: time/number of items to find; and moves/obstacle clearance. As is the case in so many ‘free’ apps, to make the most progress, and therefore enjoy some satisfaction in completing the in-game mini-tasks and events, the game demands money to be spent. Unfortunately, the items offered for sale, namely in-game coins and the typical gemstones, cost more than a kWh of electricity.
