Very disappointedI got these for my birthday expecting a remote, but no. A app I have to download. Easy as pie right? No. The lights are stuck yellow and it tells me to manually get them to connect and they absolutely won’t! I have two pairs in my room and they won’t connect to either one of them. I think it’s a clear waste of money if they don’t even work, I’d rather lose the remote than throw a chair across the room. Note: the instructions don’t tell you how to do this stuff and don’t come with an option of remote! The lights don’t work whatsoever. I’ve tried everything and they don’t. Your company is garbage if you can’t give people an option of remote. Me and my dad are buying remote ones. Never using this again. Not even if I was dared 100 bucks..Version: 1.26.1

Stop pestering me to update to V2Every time you try to use the app for anything now it has an extremely annoying pop up trying to get you to update to the V2 app that has serious problems. One pop up is enough to let users know about it..Version: 1.29.0

Does not stay connectedI found the first version of this app to work a lot better. This new version likes to disconnect and I have to repair it from scratch..Version: 1.21.10

DOES NOT WORKI bought several Philips light bulbs which I should be able to control via this app AFTER I WAS BURGLARIZED to make it look like I’m home at night. I was able to sync the first light bulb manually after a lot of difficulty. The other three light bulbs synced fine for whatever reason. I set up a schedule for the all but one of the lights to turn on/off and planned to turn the other light on/off randomly. Several of the lights were showing as “unavailable” sporadically. Now ALL of them are unavailable and have been unavailable for several days. Being that I’m out of town, I need an app that reliably controls the lights without me having to trouble shoot the physical lights/my WiFi (which doesn’t go on/off) every few days. This app is NOT for anyone who is looking to reliably deter burglars..Version: 1.22.3

App is terribleUsed to work okay but now it is so hard to connect and half the time it dosent work. Even when it does it will just randomly disconnect from my phone and won’t let me reconnect..Version: 1.27.0

Perfect example of how NOT to build and app.Anyone who’s ever developed for a mobile platform should know that side by side app migrations are inherently risky... that’s why most application developers do not bother with this methodology. If something were to happen with the old app data while it’s being moved, then lord help whomever this happens to... which is what happened to me. The first migration attempt failed, and now the stupid new app is unable to retrieve and use the old app data, which means I am stuck having to re-pair 60+ lighting devices the “manual” way because I’m using a newer network. Great way to screw over your existing consumers! I’m sure the app is swell to whomever is new to the ecosystem and doesn’t have to migrate. For the amount I spent on WIZ bulbs this is unacceptable to me, and a complete waste of my time. I will probably be moving to a new lighting ecosystem..Version: 1.22.0

Good app, good quality of smart LEDUnfortunately the energy consumption report is not working at all. Need to have better IoT security features. It would be better to have connections to AppleHome to strengthening the security feature.Version: 1.22.2

Piece of xxxFirst, it took me 2 hours to create a home and add 3 light bulbs. The manual and automatic entries are barely working. 2 hours so the app can finally find all 3 lightbulbs. Second, I could not create an account upon first try with different logins. I finally managed to create one using my AppleID Third, I could not add a guest from an iPhone 5. Worked with technical support, for hours until they dropped the ball and claimed they can’t help me and the owner, aka me, need to contact them from the registered ID community, without providing any link, a way to tell customers to drop dead! It’s one of the most incompetent technical support. Reboot and retry.. if it’s not working, well.. good luck.. nice to meet you... they don’t even know how their app is working, asking me to click on some buttons that do not exist, even after sharing screenshots with them..Version: 1.22.0

Works okLight is great however unlike Grid Connect I find this app regularly looses connection and requires my modem to be restarted to to work and allow access to connected lights..Version: 1.25.0

Make the app available for MAC desktopI’ve created shortcuts for my lights around the house. Didn’t realize the hoops I’d be going through, just to be able to turn on lights. Shouldn’t be this way. Philips light bulbs have you using this app. Fine, but if u want to try and use your MAC, this app isn’t available in the Apple App Store for your MAC. So don’t start making shortcuts later to find out, you won’t be able to use them because this app is only compatible on your iPhone or iPad. Everything else is cool, but for this MAJOR reason alone, my rating is a 1 star. Another thing about these colored bulbs, if this is a Hue Philips product, why can’t I use the Hue Philips app to turn these bulbs on? Why do I have to download another app like Wiz that doesn’t even have the Hue Philips name attached to it? I don’t like having to download a 2nd app to turn these bulbs on. I have the led Hue Philips strip. I thought their app would turn these bulbs on. They don’t. Too much money spent for all these hoops..Version: 1.27.0

Pain in the backsideI have the hero lamp thing, the light is great, nice to have many options of colours, when the app works it’s fine, HOWEVER, pairing the light to the phone and wifi is an absolute pain in the backside. Huge design flaw having to turn the light on and off 3 times or whatever to get it to pair, the light is big enough to have a second switch on it to start pairing. There’s only one button for the power, and that is also used for the pairing. Then there’s the pulsing light when it’s in pairing mode and then it changes to something else when connected or whatever. Having to type the wifi password in each time is a pain too. In all honesty it’s a pain to use. I downloaded the wizv2 and tried to migrate one light but that made everything worse and now I can’t connect my light at all to anything. Frustrating product when trying to connect. It would be better if the light just came with a remote control instead of having all the faff of wifi and phone connections. Frustrating.Version: 1.27.0

Please fix itThis app is really good and the light is fantastic but it crashes the app pages I go into the change colour but please but otherwise 5 star.Version: 1.24.0

Mine is not workingMine is not working it say that no light is connected to it pls help me with this.Version: 1.22.0

Clocks go forward for BST - now everything is an hour late!Update from previous review below: Early this morning, clocks went back one hour for GMT. And guess what has happened? Yes, everything is now coming on, and going off, an hour too early! The app still hasn’t accounted for the time changes that happen twice a year in the UK. Early this morning, clocks went forward one hour for British Summer Time. You would think that the app would account for this - but it hasn’t. It’s still on the ‘old’ time. For instance, my light didn’t come on at 7am later this morning. It was an hour late, and came on at 8am instead. My whole schedule is an hour late now!.Version: 1.27.0

Non functionalSuddenly decided to stop working whatsoever. V2 app didn’t work either..Version: 1.27.0

App keeps crashing since update to iOS 15App keeps crashing since update to iOS 15, I also updated this app in the app store..Version: 1.24.0

Just garbage!I reached out support of Wiz about the connecting issue of my light bulb. They gave me some solutions but didn’t work and asked me to get Legacy app of Wiz and that one also didn’t work and at the end they said there is an issue in your home WiFi!!! I just got another brand with different app and now working properly! Very bad app, not user friendly at all, and very bad customer service..Version: 1.29.0

“network error”Network error when i try to use the sign in partner to port my settings network error when i try to do it manually network error when i try to use v2 to add my old lights could be cool tech if it worked.Version: 1.29.0

Don’t waste your time or moneyPurchased 6 bulbs for a single circuit with pot lights. 4 connected right away, 2 would not connect. No phone number to call, all support is done via chat (useless). Tried everything suggested through the app, still couldn’t connect the other 2. Returned 3 and got new bulbs ( came in 3 packs). None of the 3 new ones would connect. Returned them all. Garbage..Version: 1.26.1

RubbishEvery night i come into my home my bulbs are pulsing. I cannot set two bulbs in the same room with the same settings. Every night I have to re configure the system and timings of the on / off schedule. Too much hard work for expensive bulbs..Version: 1.25.0

I am extremely unhappy set up is horribleThus app is not ready for prime time and is extremely buggy and archaic to set up Philips bulbs. Very poor integration with Philips wiz enabled bulbs. One problem is when I click on wiz help when wiz can not configure a bulb - there is no way to get out of wiz help unless I completely shut down my iPhone and reboot. Because when i try to close and then re open wiz app from my iPhone when I. Help it just takes me back to the wiz help menu. Only to use wiz again is to reboot the iPhone. There is no clickable link to get out if help. The setup interface to find a wiz bulb is buggy and hardly ever works. Another problem are Mac addresses of wiz/Philips bulbs. Philips does not print the Mac addresses on the bulb housing so the only way to find the MAC address is to set up the bulb first with the software and a Wi-Fi connection to the bulb. Impossible to do if one is using Mac filtering. Wiz did a horrible job integrating these bulbs with the software. The setup and establishment of a Wi-Fi connection is a total pia philips and wiz need to make this seamless for the amount of money they charge for these bulbs. The help instructions are written horribly. Very disappointed after spending so much money in over a dozen Philips bulbs..Version: 1.27.0

Not as advertisedI started integrating my home to the wiz light app. It was great- at first. Then I bought the strip lights to go around my living room. The extension light broke within 2 SECONDS of me trying to plug it to the original power strip. The metal prongs bent and broke off immediately. Then I couldn’t get the strip to connect to the app. So it just stays on this obnoxious white light. I tried to ignore that I just spent $80 for the product not to work at all- because I still loved the light bulbs. UNTIL my house was STUCK on low lighting for the past 3 DAYS. The app just kept crashing every time I tried to change the light’s color. I tried to report the app get them to reboot it and there isn’t even an option to trouble shoot. EXTREMELY dissatisfied and going to be trying to return all 9 of my light bulbs and both lighting strips. Going to see if one of the other brands is actually credible..Version: 1.24.1

Cannot connect to wizWas working perfect. upgraded app now google mini says she cannot connect to wiz even thought the 2 apps are linked and connected.Version: 1.22.3

I can’t begin to explainI got this light back in February, everything was working fine until someone else in my family got the app and connected to it now the app won’t let me control the device and I have to use the Alexa to turn it on and off which is not ideal when I want to dim it or turn on “Night Light” so I would like to know as to why this is happening and why the other members are not showing up on my members list.Version: 1.22.3

Completely UnusableI have one light, and it’s absolutely refusing to connect to it, theres been a myriad of issues of all different types, and I can’t even sign into my account between different devices, now I have an obnoxiously bright light in my room with no way to turn it down, and a product I was excited for that turned out to be unusable..Version: 1.27.0

Horrible AppOver the two years I’ve used this app it has become more flaky. Ok for plain bulbs but for an installed fixture it’s random. First it stopped responding to shortcuts. I deleted the fixture and the room and reinstalled, reconnected. It would self-respond to scheduled scene changes. Now it won’t reconnect, at all. Have been down this road with their tech support on several occasions already - same non-effective responses - I feel sorry for them. This app is not ready for customer use..Version: 1.27.0

More!!Wish there was more of a pre-made multi colour setting.Version: 1.27.0

Major Issue with Wiz PIRI’ve got Wiz lights in a number of rooms. I’m using the Wiz PIR to switch on/off the light based on movement. However there is NO WAY that this can be limited to ‘Dusk to Dawn’ - meaning the lights will only turn on when it’s dark (not during daylight). I’ve tried various options in the app - the best I can achieve is the light set to minimal brightness during the day (using Rhythms) - but it still comes on. I’ve chatted with tech support and they confirmed it’s not possible. Rubbish - it just needs a little work in the app. Come on Wiz Team - include this option in the next release..Version: 1.25.0

WiFiInconsistent Comes and Go’s.Version: 1.25.0

AwfulWas a bit clunky to use, though not as bad as the new app so I tried switching back and it crashes every time - totally just closes itself. IOS and app software both up to date.Version: 1.27.0

Product is good, but app support is dreadfulIf you buy the lights and use the app, you’ll be perfectly happy until you have a problem that requires support to sort out. When I was unable to log in to my account and repeatedly got an error message, I had substandard “support” from a member of the team, who was curt to the point of being rude, and told me my “home” had been deleted (not true, I was using it at the time) and that I was only a guest on the account (also not true, I created it and the “home”). He was vague in his questions, meaning I had to ask questions to clarify. And he took his sweet time to answer my queries without explaining the reason for the delay. Really not a good user support experience - and my problem still hasn’t been solved. Although the product itself is good, I cannot recommend the app to anyone because my experience has been that when there is a problem, it is impossible to get it resolved..Version: 1.26.1

Migration ImpossibleThe migration tool is absolute junk. I’ve tried to migrate to the new app so I can control the lights but it always fails. I’ve deleted the new app several times over the past couple of months to try it again but it never works. Pretty useless app and smart bulb now..Version: 1.22.0

Wifi bulb??I love this bulb!! So many beautiful colours. Unfortunately it only works with wifi which is sad for those of us who don’t live in an area where wifi is available. Worked great when I connected to a hotspot. Just another bulb when I’m not. Maybe you could lighten up and let us use cellular data to connect 😉.Version: 1.27.0

Keep your receiptAfter the latest firmware update a bunch of lights stopped working. The wiz support advised the latest firmware has affected some customers and to take the lights back to the place of purchase and exchange them 😮.Version: 1.26.1

Lights won’t pairBought a new light and tried all the various methods the app takes one through to pair to no avail. This was also a problem with a previously paired light I had unplugged but then would not pair when powered on again. I was beginning to get help with Chat support but thought there might be an app update. Then I found out there is a V2 new app available. Downloaded it, logged in and my lights were there and paired easily. Get the new app! This one doesn’t work anymore it seems..Version: 1.27.0

App crashes when I attempt to change colourApp crashes when I attempt to change colour.Version: 1.24.0

What happened???I bought two Wiz bulbs for my bedroom a couple of years ago- they were easy to pair with the app and worked great with Google Home. I noticed the app recently got a little glitchy- I could still control my lights' power, colour, and brightness, but trying to change any other settings like scheduling would give me an error. I bought another pair of bulbs for living room tonight and they absolutely will not pair with my network (I work in tech, so this should be a breeze for me). The bulbs themselves seem fine but Wiz really needs to fix this app. Debating whether to just give up and move to Hue..Version: 1.23.0

Poor wifi range.First I thought these globes were fantastic for the price. Set up my lounge and kitchen with these. That was until I bought one for the main bedroom of my tiny wood house. The bedroom is less than 7 meters away from my main router and it will not connect! Moved it to the lounge room to check globe( where router is) connected without issue. Moved back 7 meters away to bedroom. Does not connect. The live chat / help is useless. They don’t read your issue they just send auto generated messages. Buyer beware. If you are buying these for one room no issue. If you think you can set these up in other rooms forget it even in a small house !!! To not be able to connect when less than 7 meters away from router is really really really poor..Version: 1.22.3

LaggyWorked fine for the first few months but the response time between the app and the light got progressively slower, and now it only works 50% of the time. the app has some cool features but is lacking basics like custom colour cycles..Version: 1.26.0

Guess it’s time to rip these outI’ve had these bulbs for about 2 years and in the last 6 months, they have somehow made this app so unusable it’s laughable. Past updates have just outright broken the app where you couldn’t change the brightness, colors, etc. Now all of a sudden my lights are gone from the app, and I’m unable to connect them again. Smart pairing can’t find them even if you have your phone right on the stupid things; manual pairing is even worse as your just stuck on a forever spinning circle in the middle of your screen, which you can’t back out of. Save yourself the time, headaches, and money and just get all the Philips Hue products and use their app, it’s cheaper to do that in the long run, then buying these bulbs and not being able to even have them do anything that you paid for them..Version: 1.25.0

CrashesCrashes whenever you try to change a light colour.Version: 1.24.0

PLEASE ADD A APPLE WATCH APPThis app is good but needs a Apple Watch app so I can control the lights from my watch.Version: 1.29.0

Garbage app and productsDoes not work and the new version has completed ruined all previous settings which I can not recover. All Wiz products in my house are going in the garbage where they belong with this app..Version: 1.27.0

UnreliableAfter years of using these lights fine, I opened the Wiz app the update the schedule for one of the rooms and it killed all 6 of my smart lights. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, I’ve factory reset my router, factory reset the smart lights, reset my wifi settings on my phone, tried to install the lights on a different phone, I tried using Wiz 2, I’ve tried every possible scenario bar buying a new router. My wifi works completely fine. I had to replace hundreds of dollars worth of wiz products with Nanoleaf lights as they are said to be more reliable. The only support I got from Wiz was a copy/pate telling me to power cycle the lights or buy a new router? Never buying any Wiz products again..Version: 1.27.0

App barely even worksWould rate it so much higher if it had fading lights and if the app actually worked, if I could turn on the lights the first time I tried it would be 5 stars, it takes minutes just to turn on since I have to keep resetting the app and pressing the on and off button, think a remote would’ve worked way better since the app is mostly a pain to use, even worse is the fact that I can’t change any settings or get wizv2 due to a ‘network’ error which I’ve reset multiple times. overall I wouldn’t recommend due to the fact of how unreliable the app actually is..Version: 1.29.0

Usually works but now it has stopped workingBefore my app updated itself it worked great and wonderfully, however as of recent the app had told me to download their new app and transfer my data. I did do this and acknowledge their term of agreements however the new app was confusing and my light was disabled so I went back to the old one. There was one problem, my light was still disabled on the app. So I deleted and redownloaded the app and tried to pair it again, however each time I try to pair (whether it be automatic or manual) it fails to do so. It’s very frustrating because now I cannot connect my light again and it’s all because the app updated itself..Version: 1.27.0

Lights work, app doesn’t.Have had no issues until now…. Update has buggered the application. I can’t change light colour without the application freezing and exiting. I have reinstalled to no avail. Happily will change my review back to 4/5 star rating once the issue has been resolved..Version: 1.24.0

Warning: Do not update to wiz V2!!!I have wiz lightbulbs throughout my business and throughout my phone. I have used the wiz app for over 2 years without fault I love it. Then I upgraded to wiz app v2 - what an awful experience and what a mistake. The new version is not fit for purpose. It took away all my light colour options leaving only a few basic settings to choose from. It made altering a lighting scene painful, slow, and mostly impossible. I then tried signing in to the app which wiped out all my rooms for both home and my business. Awful experience. I deleted the app. Thank fully I have been able to ask my husband to re invite my via his original app as thank goodness he hadn’t updated his app to v2. Warning: You need to delete this new app as it is rubbish and impossible. Get another user to re invite you and stick with original app!!! The old app is simple to use and works like a dream..Version: 1.27.0

One of the most horrific apps I’ve ever dealt with.Imagine installing a bunch of smart lights in your home only to discover the control center has Alzheimer’s and forgets they exist every 2 months and you have to spend hours of your day resetting them and to be gaslit by being told you’re not connected to your WiFi, refuse for it to recognize or remember your network, and buy more bulbs often to fix your issue. Buy Philips hue. These are garbage. After unstinting and reinstalling the app to fix for the umpteenth time in years, the app will now no longer open and crashes on the start page. Hundreds of dollars down the drain to this company that refuses to have any semblance of proper support..Version: 1.29.0

Really won’t connectThe first one would but it was very difficult This new software doesn’t work at all some pc tech put this together for sure waste of money to get the bulbs now to bad.Version: 1.27.0

Please add Dark modeThe app is easy to navigate. One think i wish the app had was a DARK MODE. The bright background distracts while controlling the light settings especially in a dark room. iOs’s dark mode setting nor invert option don’t apply well with the app..Version: 1.24.3

Epic failThis app has never worked properly with the lights. Support is a ghost. Do not buy..Version: 1.27.0

Never working properlyVery difficult to pair to your network and once paired, the devices will continually experience connectivity issues or glitches with color themes, schedules, and routines requiring you to delete it and re-pair it. If you delete the device with connectivity issues and add it again you can usually pair it again after a few tries but I suggest pairing manually because the smart pairing option never works unless you switch your router settings to 2.4GHz network only which is ridiculous. I have other brand technology on the same router requiring 2.4GHz network to function and have minimal issues with them. This technology doesn’t seem that adaptive to routers that run both which is basically the standard router everyone has in their homes..Version: 1.26.1

Can we just get the old app back pleaseLike come on its been months and this new app is an absolute pain! Constantly making me wish I never bought these bulbs….like the product/pricing is great and the old app was amazing now its a complete nightmare/headache and Im at the point of giving up on these for some Phillips hues!.Version: 1.29.0

Not the bestHonestly the lights are very good and I enjoy using them very much. For the first month of having them I’ve had little to no problems. But, this new update doesn’t allow me to change the lights color and when I try the whole app just crashes. I hope to see this get fixed because I really do enjoy these lights but the app just is not that reliable. Right now I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. Hopefully this stupid app works but right now I’m having trouble reconnecting all the lights and hopefully this app will decide to work again..Version: 1.24.0

WIZ wants and wants and wants…So WIZ use to be good. Now they want all your information about your network, your location on always. I used to run off the cellular network. All of a sudden I’m not able to use the app because I don’t have Wi-Fi. I cannot move beyond the Wi-Fi page. So now the WIZ bulbs are regular bulbs now. What a waste. I took them to my sisters and the information the app was asking for ticked off my family. They used to set the evenings to be soothing at my place. Now they’re just another set of regular everyday bright bulbs. If you got the bulbs, return them to where you purchased them. If you don’t have Wi-Fi you cannot set up the WIZ bulbs. I did like them, I cannot utilize them anymore. I’ll look for something else now..Version: 1.29.0

Google WifiWiz globes won’t connect with Google nest wifi routers..Version: 1.22.1

LampI bought a WiZ lamp and it doesn’t even show on the list.Version: 1.27.0

Every light has to be done one at a timeEvery light has to be done one at a time and it takes several tries each….Version: 1.27.0

Good quality but hard to set upThe controls are great and everything works well once it has been set up. The issue is exactly that. Those lights will not set up on a regular dual band Wi-Fi network. You will have to either have a split network or disable your 5.0 network before setting this up. Then on a separate set up you need to install it with your voice devices (Alexa and Google). Not sure if it works with Siri. Took me many days to figure out why I was not being able to set it up. Once you been through this ordeal, then everything is wonderful and the controls are just what you need. Easy to organize in groups and do very much anything you like. The installation however, either needs to improve or come with more comprehensive instructions..Version: 1.23.0

Not going to migrateI just read a good portion of the reviews for your V2 app and given that out of well over 500 reviews, the average is less than one star I will definitely not be upgrading if you can even call it that! Not only are there, tons of complaints that either it doesn’t work with Apple, or just doesn’t connect at all after changing to the new app, but when I was reading the various options within my current apps settings for version two there were literally many typos in the instructions which leads me to believe that either the same people that developed the app and caused many bugs wrote the instructions or quality control is not the main purpose. I will definitely not be upgrading/migrating!! I also doubt I will receive developer feedback to this review..Version: 1.27.0

Throwing out the bulbsThe original app was difficult enough to get the lights to connect and then you had to deal with the app trying to update itself and migrate to the new app for months which didn’t work, but thankfully every now and then the old application would work and I can use the lights. Now, thanks to the new app and how incredibly complicated it is to set up the lights, I can no longer use the lights at all via the application. Who builds an app where the upgrade requires a complete new installation of the devices that previously worked with the older version of the app? Smart home devices and the set up and use of them does not need to be this hard in this day and age..Version: 1.23.0

Dark ModeIt would be great if the app had a dark mode. I’ve got my lights dimmed before bed, but the app (being white) is brighter than the light bulb! Update: thanks for the response. It would be helpful to also create “favorite” buttons separate from the menu so I don't have to scroll through the menu choices every time. Update: When setting the scheduled light color changes, it would be nice to allow for a 15-30 second transition period. When the light flips from say 2300 to daylight at the set time, it’s kind of annoying. But a transition period would be nice..Version: 1.27.0

UnsatisfactoryWell upgraded to V2 and have had problems. Every time I switch on the lights manually, it works fine. Then after returning to the app later to turn off, the app has issues and I have to reset everything again from start. This has happened to me 4 times in 2 weeks. So I have downloaded the older version and will see how reliable this is..Version: 1.27.0

Wiz app flakyThe Wiz app won’t run in IOS16.2. It crashes instantly. And the WIZ2 app is flaky. Disappointed..Version: 1.27.0

Trash bulbs and trash app.Bulbs work fine for a week. Then stop working. The bulbs consistently have connectivity issues. I’ve tried unpairing and re pairing, changing WiFi settings, buying new bulbs and even bought a new WiFi modem and new router. Still the same old issues. The app will first state that one bulb isn’t connected to WiFi and the other one is but then will give me the option to turn the room on after a few seconds. I’ll turn on the room and request the lights to turn blue, for example. One light will turn a different color other than blue and the other one won’t even turn on. This isn’t a bulb specific issue, this happens with either bulb. I have their garbage bulbs in all rooms of my house and they have the same issue. I bought another set of Wiz bulbs and even those ones had issues out of the box. Sadly, they rarely update the app and their Alexa skill. Don’t rely on the possibly fake reviews posted on here. This is NOT a 4 star app and most certainly NOT a 4 star product. Anything with the Wiz logo should go straight from the factory to the landfill..Version: 1.26.1

DST glitch is back AGAIN this year. Please have the developers apply the correct DST adjustment to the time zones that still use it. All the alarms are an hour ahead now when they should match DST and be an hour forward. PLEASE FIX!!!.Version: 1.27.0

BadApp was working great for a while and then I had a power cut and after that the app stopped connecting to the bulb when I try to sign in it comes up with ‘sign in error’ also when deleting a home it comes up with the same error message and I’m unable to create a new account because of the same error this has been like this for the past 6 months.Version: 1.29.0

Update 1.22.0 faultyApp has stopped functioning correctly on update 1.22.0 no longer usable. App freezes whenever you try change a setting of the wiz light and then the change happens 30 seconds later. Unusable.Version: 1.22.0

Trash app but your only choice for wizI’m not sure how many years it has been since Phillips purchased Wiz, but it’s clear that prioritizing compatibility and functionality has always been last. Whether it’s shortcuts failing for no reason, a total lack of ability to integrate with the apple “home” app, or a total lack of security for the bulbs on your local network, this app seems great until you discover its numerous years long bugs! Hue app came first and was a way more robust product, and this festering garbage heap still lacks features the first Hue product had for years. I could write an app myself and it wouldn’t have been half this poorly thought out and executed. Terrible..Version: 1.27.0

Terrible app ever madeI have my LED lights up I'm doing all the steps Bluetooth and manual it isn't working I've been doing this for 2 hours trying everything and my LED strip light isn't connected.Version: 1.23.0

я....Version: 1.21.3

It was good…until it wasn’tLike someone else said don’t upgrade. Impossible to pair and nothing works now. Can’t seem to revert back to V1. They had a good product then sold out to Philips who have have sabotaged it as it’s at the cheaper end of their range. Glad I didn’t purchase a 3rd bulb..Version: 1.29.0

Great when it works, less than unhelpful when it doesn’tTo start off I think the app is great when it is working, honestly use google integration more than the app itself out of convenience though. The reason for the low rating is for when things aren’t working, cause both the app and customer support are less than unhelpful. There is no documentation for errors (my lights were saying “library error” and “missing MQTT certificate” with no explanation in the app or online for a fix) and customer support didn’t seem to know what the errors meant or how to fix it and just kept telling me to do the same things over and over and over and over again. So if your bulbs never give you issues the app will be great, but be aware if you ever run into any issues the app and customer support will be more frustrating than helpful.Version: 1.26.1

Major Connectivity IssuesI loved the idea of creating custom colors for my lights with the changing of the seasons/holidays. I am using the light bulbs in my Coach lights and porch light. Unfortunately, there are major connectivity issues…in that one or more bulbs is regularly unable to connect to the app, therefore not turning on or not shutting off. It’s never the same bulb. The issue likes to randomly rotate between my 4 light bulbs. How often is this happening? Every other day. Every other day one or more bulbs won’t turn on/off. The app says the bulbs can’t connect to the wifi. I have to manually unscrew and rescrew the bulb back in and like magic, connectivity is restored. The reason I purchased these bulbs was so that I could have my exterior lights turn on/off with a set schedule. Because of the crappy app, I never know when all 4 of my lights will actually work. On the rare day that all of them actually turn on, it’s not guaranteed they will stay that way. I’ve gone outside an hour later and one of the lights will be off. It’s infuriating. There’s no reason for the excuse of a weak wifi signal. I have a wifi booster in my garage. My advice to you is to find smart bulbs that do not use the Wiz app. It’s nothing but a joke..Version: 1.27.0

DisappointedI had it for a while and one time it just stopped working! And after another while it started working again out of the blue and that happened again but never worked ever again so now it’s just a normal light!! 😡😡😡.Version: 1.27.0

Please fix cheap crummy appThe app has litters and bugs and hasn’t been updated updated in a long time. I have two pairs of LED light strips that I constantly have to reset and reset them up to get them to work for a day before they become unavailable and I have to reset them again please fix this dumb error Biggest waste of money for smart lights. Services are constantly going down. and has terrible tech-support..Version: 1.27.0

Absolutely terribleI originally started out with Philips Hue which was an intuitive app and hardware that worked fine on all my devices and synced nicely with HomeKit. Ever since they released Wiz, I have had nothing but problems. Switch a password on your Wi-Fi? Gonna have to delete and re-add every single light. Lights won’t re-pair to your network? You have to delete the app and start over. Still not working? You can chat with a chat or for 10 minutes until you’re turned over to an outsourced technician who answers your messages at the rate of once every 15 minutes. I’m tossing these lights and never buying Philips smart lighting again. They took a great product and turned it into absolute garbage..Version: 1.26.1

No use in my caseI had expected direct control, given that the box for the bulb indicated Bluetooth, and said “No hub needed”. The iPad Bluetooth could not detect of the bulb; it did detect the bulb wifi and connect, but because there is no wifi internet connection here the rest of the process could not be finished. This means the bulb and app are useless to me. One will be deleted, and other returned. And now, perhaps an iOS problem, the app will not delete..Version: 1.27.0

If you’re considering purchasing these, don’t.I renovated my house, thinking these bulbs would be a nice addition - colour features, remote turning on/off etc etc. The 1st issue was with the useless tech’s who didn’t know about technology, but I passed that off as personal experience. Fast forward 12mths, these lights work, kind of, as long as you NEVER accidentally switch them off at the wall (like a normal light switch), yes, that’s right, don’t use them like a normal light switch otherwise the level of frustration as you try to get these synced back with the other lights attached to that switch is insurmountable. If you enjoy spending your time switching things on & off & being frustrated beyond reason as a hobby, buy them; if not, perhaps choose an alternative method of entertainment. I am redoing all of my lighting to have these removed, save yourself some money & don’t do what I did..Version: 1.27.0

Easy to use missing some featuresThe main dealbreaker for me was a sunset option. It’s doesn’t have one. Easy to add bulbs name and configure them. Had no issue adding them to google home assistant..Version: 1.27.0

Please AvoidTheir customer support knowledge is limited to the following 2 steps 1. Restart lights 2. Restart phone and router If it is not working they wouldn’t be able to help you. Read the whole story I bought a pair of bulbs in Dec 2021. I installed both the bulbs on a single spot, close to router and paired to the app. Everything worked fine with little glitches in once a while. Like lights would turn on in the middle of the night by itself once a month. I was fine with it. It’s okay, things can’t be perfect. One month ago, after the update , lights turned from convenience to total inconvenience. I could not control with app. Light would turn on by its choice and turn off by itself. The buttons and controls in the app were useless . I tried pairing again, tried new wifi, new id, another phone, switching places, restarting everything at least 20 times. Guess what? Nothing worked. Then contacted the customer support: they told me to do that all again. I thought maybe they changed something from server end or updated software or something, maybe it will work. Guess what? Didn’t work I have spent at least 50hours in last months trying to fix it. Customer support replies once in a while, like after an hour or so and tells me to restart the lights, phone and router. I have never written a review ever, but these guys have earned it. They can’t fix something that was working just fine before. Bulbs are fine their software messed up after the update..Version: 1.26.0

What the hellI got the bulb like 2 months back, bit of a pain setting up but after that bump it was an overall good light to use. Fast forward to now and the thing doesn’t work. Wouldn’t respond to my wifi no matter what. Deleted to app to restart it and now it won’t even pair back up again. Telling me I need to change the settings in my router which I didn’t need to do before. The app was no help either.. every time I tried to click on a help setting it would tell me the page I’m trying to find isn’t available. The chat system barely helping either and just giving me the same answer every time. Waste of money if you ask me considering it didn’t last long. Won’t be buying anymore of these products. Buying a different light from a different brand tomorrow. Pretty disappointed..Version: 1.29.0

It's ok on the old versionI have never migrated to the new version but it seems like there are more negative reviews from people using the newer version. I do have issues every now and then with bulbs dropping a signal and having to repair, but that's usually it. and one other issue I've noticed is that the app does not adjust for daylight savings time. So I usually have to go in and adjust the time frames for the outdoor bulbs I have on a schedule, so that's just a little bit annoying. I have the same issue as others where the App will tell me I'm not connected to the correct Wi-Fi, but if I opt to pair manually it usually works for me. The bulbs themselves are amazing, I am super picky about lighting, so I love being able to adjust the Tone, brightness, and literally every color in the rainbow! The app could use some work though, it would be nice if things worked a little smoother and the signal wasn't dropped as frequently. I understand the bulbs are a newer concept, so it probably just takes some time to perfect this kind of application but I hope they work out the bugs because they'll definitely get an update of five stars from me if they do!.Version: 1.27.0

CrashedMy app was working perfectly fine until about 10 minutes ago when it crashed and now when I load it up it only gives me the option to create a home or join a home. No option to sign in to my account or anything..Version: 1.27.0

Apple watch not friendlyYou guys should make the app Apple Watch friendly. It would be ridiculously awesome to be able to close my lights and set moods that can be choose on my watch quickly!!! Now that I think about it I feel it is weird nobody thought of this before 🤔.Version: 1.21.10

AwfulI thought this app was good until I tried to change the light to a new wireless network. It’s taken endless attempts over a whole week for the app to even find the light and while I’m typing this it seems to be in an endless loop trying to “initiate connection“ with the light. If only people would produce lights with a simple built-in dimmer and we didn’t have to deal with stupid, unreliable apps like this..Version: 1.24.3

Does not workI have one bulb that works and has been for a while. New one won’t connect and there are no issues with wifi or internet. The app occasionally freezes and the chat support is pretty bad. Back to Bunnings for a refund for me I think..Version: 1.26.1

If you like every light turning on at 2am during a storm, this is for you.We have now experienced multiple overnight wakes up (including all 3 of our children 5 and under) during a storm when the power flickers and then every single bulb in our house turns on. We thought we were making our lives easier when we switched everything to Wiz bulbs. Instead, the setting that allows you to keep the lights off after a power outage doesn’t work and we spend the next who knows how long trying to get our kids back to sleep. This has happened at least 3x in 2 months. Not to mention the fact that the app doesn’t work half the time and bulbs are constantly losing connectivity/not responding. We’ve stopped using Alexa to control the bulbs in our kitchen altogether, just going back to using the switch, because I can’t remember the last time that actually worked. The bulbs in one kids’ room are constantly unresponsive so we’re just using the switch in there. It’s honestly more of a pain than just having zero smart bulbs. And your app still doesn’t have a dark mode setting? We’ll be switching everything as soon as we can..Version: 1.26.1

Wiz is great… or it was?The new app doesn’t support the old “scenes” I had perfected and it seems like it’s a bit more difficult to control. (I have the old app on my iPad— new one on my iPhone). Seems solvable. Otherwise love WIZ.Version: 1.27.0

Glitchy app and Siri connectorI love my globes - fitted in all my major rooms in the house. But my goodness it’s glitchy with Siri and voice commands. 50-60% of the time it works.Version: 1.21.10

The app keeps crashingThe app keeps crashing and won’t let me stay in the app for no longer than 2 seconds could you please fix this.Version: 1.18.2

The app is so bad.The app is so bad. You have to power off your phone or delete it to get out of certain areas. I synced one light and then it gave me the wheel of death. It has done this multiple times. In the last few months it has been the worst. You’ll spend hours and want to throw your phone against the wall..Version: 1.27.0

Crashing on new update.Crashing on new update..Version: 1.24.0

Good light bad appThis is got to be one of the most affordable and cool lights on the market but this app doesn’t live up to it. I’m using a iPhone 13 Pro Max and this app every time I use it, it crashes so that also means I can’t upgrade to the second version of this app if there was an update that could let me actually use this app to upgrade to V2 that would be much appreciated thanks..Version: 1.29.0

Update not up to parWhen we were forced to migrate to this new app, we were told that everything would migrate over. After several attempts I still kept getting an error that the app would not migrate my data. The instructions were not very clear. Finally, my original app was accidentally erased and now I am faced with rebuilding my whole house. Using the smart setup is worthless. It has not worked on any of my lights and I have had to manually set up each one. Several freestanding lamps will not connect at all Then trying to get the new app connected to Alexa device - I find that Wiz is not listed in their directory Very disappointed and quite frustrated.Version: 1.22.2

WIZ LightsThe old app certainly works more consistently than V2 … And sometimes I need to make sure my Bluetooth is turned on, on my iPhone 🤷‍♂️.Version: 1.27.0

Problem connectionsI still have connection problems, you have to reconnect them every day, I really regretted buying these expensive lamps..Version: 1.27.0

Horrible Customer ServiceI originally purchased a Phillips lightbulb that connected with the app. I originally had issues with the set up on that one however I was able to use their chat and get it working. A year later I ordered 2 more Phillips bulbs and I’m having issues getting them to work. The customer service chat that they had a over year ago is not the same that they have today. It takes hours for them to answer you. When they finally do answer, the help they give so has not worked. I also tried contacting them via email however it is an auto response to use their chat to ask questions..Version: 1.22.0

Love the product but the app is terribleNever write reviews ever but I’m very fed up with the app. I put circadian rhythms on once and now its stuck on that setting for every color (I turned the feature off in every setting possible). I shouldn’t have to reconfigure the bulb for every glitch. It’s also very slow to recognize the light when you open the app in a home with strong wifi. It doesn’t stay consistent with the last setting you had on either when you turn on the light. I know it’s not a malfunctioning bulb because I’ve had multiple bulbs in different homes and this is how it is. Love the features and options this product has, but it needs a strong app to make that worth anything. Hopefully that comes over time.Version: 1.26.1

GarbageWhy don’t you let people know there is a newer version of this app? After setting everything up it THEN tells you there is a new app. It gives you a code and select migration in the new app but there is no migration selection. The cherry on the cake is the old app no longer works after installing the new app and you’re locked out of your bulbs. Taking everything back..Version: 1.29.0

Stuck on ‘Initiating Connection’The globe stopped connecting so I deleted it, updated iOS and app and tried to reinstall the globe. Everything goes well up until it tries to initiate connection which it is stuck on for several minutes until displaying ‘ failed’. Repeated attempts, same result. I’ll be trying another brand..Version: 1.22.3

Utter rubbishWorked fine on an iPhone XR…installs and then crashes every time when run on an iPhone 14. Version 2 is also rubbish…doesn’t crash but one can not add devices to it. Suggest you put more energy and effort into building and testing robust applications..Version: 1.27.0

Daylight Savings BugThe lights do not adjust to daylight savings even though your phone and app reflect the proper time.Version: 1.27.0

AwfulReally genuinely awful, constant crashes, takes minutes to update the status of lights, no dark mode, migration to v2 doesn't work, lights missing from the app on occasu, lights randomly changing brightness without having any schedules set. Baffling how they seem to find it so difficult to put together a basic iot app.. Terrible.Version: 1.27.0

Connecting is iffy, Bluetooth wifi etc etc....I cannot see what I’m writing because it’s white in a white background! Anyway, I don’t know other thing are so easy to connect to to like Bluetooth speakers, cameras/wifi GoPro, but this wiz light says turn on wifi, then I connect doesn’t work, then “you need to turn on Bluetooth “ what? Why both? . It’s just always a pain to connect to..Version: 1.21.10

Lights don’t connect half the timeAs the title says. I’ve been using this app for a while but I’ve found that there’s frequently connection problems between the app and the lights, even though my wifi works fine. Other than that, the widgets are really bare compared to some other smart lights. I had Hues previously, and whilst I appreciate that they’re more expensive that Wiz lights for a reason, I don’t feel that excuses the problems and criticisms that I have. Really disappointing..Version: 1.27.0

Cool concept. Poor executionSo I have a fan remote kit. My light socket is ALWAYS on and I usually control my light via the wiz app. This worked great for about a month. Now I use my remote. Because this app only sees the light 40% of the time now. I used to have a schedule set that would turn the light on. Worked better than an alarm clock. But now it won’t see it. I can open the app and leave it open. And I can watch the light connection come and go. One second giving me buttons to turn it on and off and change colors. Now I watch it go from options. To telling me to make sure my light is on and connected to WiFi.Version: 1.26.1

Better than the new versionI use an IPad Pro mainly and this 'legacy' app works while the new one is clearly made for the iPhone and tends to crash. This version displays full screen on my iPad where the new version starts of small and needs to be zoomed into.. As it stands now the new version is a waste of time for me to even look at. In fact if the new one is sleeping in the background it makes the lagacy version crash when I start it up. Who ever wrote the new app needs to rethink their choices..Version: 1.29.0

Does nor remember the last set colour of the lightCannot turn of circadian rhythm.. Warm white always switches to daylight when the light is turned on. A 1.25 smart bulb works better and has netter colours than this piece of wiz.Version: 1.27.0

1.22.0 Update issuesSince this update we’ve been having issues with the lights. Me and my partner both have the app and if one of us changes the settings - after about 30 seconds it will revert to the settings that are on the other persons app. It’s getting really frustrating, nothing we’ve tried to work around it has worked, and it only started happening after last weeks update. Currently it’s basically impossible to keep the lights at the settings you want. Please address this!.Version: 1.22.0

Getting better - room for improvementIt would be appreciated if WiZ would publish a change log somewhere so we can have some more details on what bugs are resolved in each release. This app and the associated ecosystem has improved over the years but can still be better. I’ve amassed a collection of over 30 WiZ enabled bulbs and fixtures. WiZClick is a great feature with one glaring hole - the missing ability to select a rhythm as one of the choices when flipping the lights on. Flip on the lights - sync to the room rhythm. A quick off and on for the second time - an alternate present of choice - like cool white at full brightness. I’d also love to be able to use a single rhythm across multiple rooms or be able to copy a rhythm from one room to the next. Sadly I’ve asked support for this feature numerous times over the past several years with no sign of it to come. My fingers remain crossed..Version: 1.26.0

An improvement, but could be betterI had left Wiz for Nanoleaf after being sick and tired of constant network errors and being unable to control my lights. After only 6 weeks with Nanoleaf, I’m getting rid of all of those bulbs and bought even more Wiz bulbs than before because at least this app works most of the time and setup is a lot easier and worlds faster. That being said, would love to see an easier way to create scenes with multiple rooms together instead of individual rooms separately because that is a huge time sink trying to get an entire home to perform a mood change all at once..Version: 1.25.0

Poor wifiThis specific leds have poor wifi range, had them for a few months and have not connect for over a month..Version: 1.24.3

Wiz bulbsI had a terrible time trying to get my Wiz bulbs reconnected to the internet, but finally succeeded tonight. The problem started when our internet went out about a month ago. We ended getting a new modem. But the bulbs were no longer connected to the internet. You have no instructions for what to do in this case. You have videos on how to connect bulbs, but not how to reconnect. I had to figure that out on my own. To do this, I had to add the lights back to each room, and had to pair them once again to the internet, which I did manually. Please make a video for this. I am sure I am not the only one who has experienced this frustration..Version: 1.27.0

Simple and works well, but…Simple and easy to use although horizontally scrolling to access rooms isn’t the greatest user experience. In need of some simple UI improvements / options, but mostly OK and has worked consistently since setup. There is a v2 of the app and unfortunately the reviews for it are abysmal. If you decide to remain on the legacy app you are punished each and every time you open the app by having to bypass their popup message urging you to switch to v2. Additionally if you switch to v2 and decide to switch back all your data will be gone and you’ll have to re set up everything. Insultingly bad user experience. Otherwise this is a solid 4 star app in need of only minor tweaks. There are vague replies to poor reviews of v2 suggesting fixes or improvements are coming soon but without knowing for sure when those will happen or if they will work… I will continue to use v1 legacy begrudgingly..Version: 1.29.0

Cheap and nasty - really unreliableUnfortunately the wiz bulbs are cheap for a reason. I am using a number of different brands including IKEA and TP link Kasa. The wiz bulbs connected to the wiz app are extremely unreliable compared to those. Wiz drop off the network with no warning but the app still indicates they are connected. I have tried all sorts of troubleshooting and am fairly familiar with networking- the other brands just work. Wiz doesn’t. I have the Wiz remote control and it is fairly reliable to connect to the bulbs (it doesn’t use the app). I am returning the 4x downlights and will try another brand. The other Wiz bulbs I have will just end up in. A drawer soon..Version: 1.25.0
