✓ Why is this so hard?I wanted to send my colleagues a 1 minute take from a project. First, I had to upload ALL images and videos on my camera because I’m not allowed to select which images I want upload. This took hours. Then I had to DOWNLOAD every single take because video playback isn’t supported in the app nor on the website and I couldn’t tell which was the take I wanted without rewatching the clips on the camera and trying to match the file names. ✓ Forced to buy a new cameraWow. I’ve only had my WiFi camera for about 3 years now, and loved the web features to have them download for my computer. Now this unnecessary new service has cut off my camera when it’s only 1 model behind. What a waste now to have a WiFi camera that I can’t even upload my images anymore to canon gateway or even google drive. Disappointed. There was no reason to 1) create a new service that doesn’t work as smoothly and 2) cut off WiFi enabled cameras for them to be useless now..Version: 1.0.0

✓ What a terrible appInstalled it on the iPhone. Create login ID. Then try to log in. A screen pops up telling me to set it up on my PC (which I don’t have) then tells me o register my camera 6D2, which I do. Then it circles around and asks me to log in, read PC setup screen and camera reg. Deleted it. Will continue to use copy direct from SD card to Mac. Even the Canon Connect app isn’t working any more. ✓ CIG was better for meI tended to use Canon Image Gateway to share photos with friends and assumed I would be able to do the same with this. Clearly not made for this purpose, unless I’ve missed something??? - can’t send a link to an album, it sends an email ( in my case it sent 3 emails with over 40 photos) to the recipient. - can’t password the album or photo. - can’t prevent downloads/printing. - can’t put things in name order. It appears sends them in date /time order, with the latest first in the series. - can’t add comments to individual photos. - can’t use on the computer to forward images. Just doesn’t suit my purposes any more. Sorry Canon, but I’m not a pro, just a bloke who’s used used your products since the mid 1970s. ✓ Selecting Pictures Not Optional AnymoreI was disappointed to see that what was once a useful app, was no more. Since CANON iMAGE GATEWAY was changed to image.canon, unlike its predecessor, you can no longer easily select the photo of your choice to send into your smartphone. When I click on the app on my camera, it automatically syncs all photos into my smartphone without permission. This loses its convenience in having to transfer the necessary photos to your phone. Therefore, if the developers are reading this, I want to kindly ask them to change back to their previous settings that provides users easy access to options while using their camera. If it doesn’t come back to what it was before, well unfortunately the app would have to be rendered useless then..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Too slowFirstly, ignore the rash comments about the terms and conditions. Parts a, b and c of the terms quoted in a previous review clear up how and why any images would be used. Maybe Canon should make a clearer statement for those that are unable to understand the legal wording in the terms. Secondly, this app works fine until you come to download the images onto your computer. The download works but it is so slow as to be unusable. I have 160Mb/s download speed but the Canon servers seem to be working at dial-up speeds. It’s quicker for me to just put the card in the reader. Until Canon sort out their server speeds, this solution makes workflow far more time consuming and much less efficient. This is the only issue I have found and for me, it’s a showstopper. In summary, the app works fine and does what it states in the description but it is hamstrung by the glacially slow speed at which you can then retrieve the photos for editing. Wait until they sort this issue out before taking this service seriously..Version: 1.0.0

✓ HorribleHopefully some of these issues will be resolved quickly. Can no longer share photo album links. Try deleting photos, can only do one at a time and you have to scroll through all your newer photos each time you delete one picture. So disappointed, loved the old platform. After fiddling with this app and my camera, my iPad, and my iPhone for a while, I gave up and simply pulled the flash card out of the camera, plugged it into my USB reader device, and got the photos onto my computer that way. ✓ Violation of Sign In with AppleI was pleased to see Sign In with Apple. I was displeased to see this happen in a web view, outside of the app. I was VERY DISPLEASED to see a form asking for my name and email after passing through the Sign In with Apple. ✓ Despicable shame CanonThis is a far worse ap than the original canon image gateway. We were told our images would be transferred. Well guess what. They did but none of the albums that were carefully crafted for years, the comments in each photo, their ratings. The album cover stories, etc. There is also no feature for sharing albums. I cannot even see the EXIF DATA. If We had been informed about this I would have tried to preserve as much of them. This service has rendered the whole endeavour pointless. Well done Canon you managed to piss us off once again. We demand that you re-instate the earlier service. The intellectual property clauses of the new service are also highly cryptic. I certainly do not want to have my photos used by anyone without my explicit permission. Somebody ought to start a class action lawsuit. ✓ TerribleSo first, I like that it transfers directly to google drive. That’s where I put my photos anyways. But I have ZERO CONTROL over which photos ... I switched this on halfway through an upload and it only moved the photos from then on. I want to initiate a re-transfer but you have no controls over this. The resolution is cut in half, and you have no control over changing this. The photos all dump to one giant folder on Drive and, you guessed it, you have no control over this.
