D&D Beyond for Positive User Reviews

Good to see this coming along but can’t use it yetI’m glad to see this experience taking shape and I really look forward to seeing it evolve. However, in truth, you can’t really make any use of it yet. Without the ability to edit equipment, level-up a character or generally make any meaningful edits, you’ll need a paper character sheets of other electronic sheets in addition (defeating the purpose). For now, the best way to play via D&DBeyond is to have the players log into the site with characters that are part of a DM’s campaign (who presumably owns the necessary source material to share within the campaign)..Version: 1.7.1

Work in progress, but great start.Always a fan of dndbeyond and their tools. This is a nice, simple, and clean app. For what is there, it seems to function properly and it’s easy to cycle around. I cant seem to manage from the app to “prepare” spells, so I’d have to go to the website and come back, resolving that would be nice. It’d also be nice to integrate backgrounds and frames onto the app as well so all the characters don’t look the same; it’s a little dark as is. I see this growing and becoming a nice alternative for players versus logging in through the web browser as it becomes more expansive..Version: 1.0

I like the app but I wish I had like a teaching classI like the app I made three characters and had fun making them. But me and my son are having a hard time going through the beginners guide to play it is kind of confusing trying to go through everything. I am dyslexic so I have a hard time reading. But my son tries to do it the best he can but we keep getting confused how to play I would like the app to kind of have a walk-through like watching the arrows point to what you use how to use the monsters and how you be a dungeon master kind of like a beginners class I think the app would be great if it had that setting have like it to talk to you or allows your phone to read it to you. And how to use the dungeon master books the campaigns in a protective way like have a one shot that the phone app helps you guys through it. I know I might be asking a little too much but for someone that their son really wants to playI think that would be a good way to handle it.Version: 2.21

Good but could be betterWhen I was doing D&D in the 80s, this thing would’ve been Star Trek technology. It has everything and it’s wonderful. It makes the mechanics very nice. It has good access to your characters and allows the game to go a lot more smoothly without you having to work every mechanic. At least on The iPhone there are some things that can be improved. There are some things that can only be done on the website that can’t be done on the app. And it’s easy to fat finger and get totally lost because the app resets itself to whatever you were looking at the app before you went to the website, and you lose whatever it was you were doing on the website..Version: 2.9

Updating Sources…Downloaded the app, loved it till it wanted to take eternity to update the sources….Version: 2.7.1

Nearly thereThe flow and accessibility is great, the next thing I need if I’m going to actually use it is the ability to edit my inventory!.Version: 1.2.0

Does the job more than well enoughDoes everything you need it to do, bit crash-prone, not laid out in sections which are entirely congruent with the layout of a classical paper character sheet, so takes a little getting used to.Version: 2.9

The most recent updateThe latest update has made the app unusable for anyone who doesn’t have iOS 13 or above. I have an older phone that stops at 12. I can no longer access any of my characters, it just says go update the app which it can’t..Version: 2.0

Great AppThis app is great. It saves me from having to debate with friends over how some of the rules work, because it does it for you. It saves me time when I’m not sure about exactly what a spell does, I can simply click on the spell and it will tell ‘‘em how it works. Now I do have some problems with DDB. This first is a very common one: having to repurchase the books when you already have the physical copies. However, I do love how the books are cheaper on DDB than most other places, like a book store. My other complaint is not a very big issue for me, but might be for others; the phone interphase, in my opinion, is hard to use. Again, not a problem for me because I am lucky enough to to be able to have a laptop I can take to sessions, it not everyone can and I can see the issue being a problem for some. The interface for an tablet is good, but on a phone, I find it difficult to use..Version: 2.6.1

Help?Love using the website, but don’t know how to log into my existing account?.Version: 2.0.2

Great exceptIf you buy a dnd book you can’t redeem it in the app I wish you could redeem because the books cost £30 and so do the books online it takes a lot of money down the drain other that that it’s great.Version: 2.3.2

Horrible companyThe company has demonstrated they zero ducks about their fan base. Cancel your subs..Version: 2.24

Character SheetsApp is well done and well layed out. Someone needs to program the character sheet print outs to be standard WoTC character sheets found in the PHB, instead of the 3rd party character sheets it currently prints out.Version: 2.35

Love it!Exceptional game and this app is very good, user friendly and more often than not they give expansions and is great for getting new players into the world/ worlds of D&D! Regardless of how wotc have been in the past..Version: 2.39

D&D 5E tool that is second to noneI have been using this tool for 4 years and would play a game without this tool/app to hand.Version: 2.9

YeahI have been using D&DBEYOND since it started & find it great for character building, in game tracking, looking stuff up (rules, spells, etc). Have not had great success with the encounter builder though I like parts of of it. Sorting encounters & getting them up is tedious. Mostly big 👍from me..Version: 2.34

Great butIt’s really useful on all fronts except on the website you can purchase parts of books and on the app you can’t i’m just confused as to why this is as I’m fine paying for the part that i want i just don’t want the whole book.Version: 2.20

Cool 😎This app is amazing but there is just one problem that I have: it won’t let me create a campaign. Idk if other people have this problem but I just though I would say about it. Just remember it might not always work with the campaigns but if it does it’s fine. Get this app!:)!!.Version: 2.0.1

Good, but lacking for DMsFor a player, this is great. For a DM? Not so much. You can’t browse any homebrew content. You can’t make or view custom items or spells that you create from a desktop/laptop device. The website and mobile platform are very different in scope. You can’t view encounters either. I still give it a four in hopes that it will arrive at the desired function for a dm, and thus become a 5, but until then, it’s basically a character sheet/dice roller. The non-mobile capacity is awesome. Love what they’ve done with the DNDBeyond site; however, as a dm, there’s soooo much you’re having to look at that an app that only gives you source books, means it’s not really a solution. Let me view my campaign, or the PC’s within it (that have joined). I can’t research backstories, or plan encounters, or tweak magic items from my web-based content!.Version: 2.0

PogPog.Version: 2.38

Almost Flawless; expensive paywallIt’s great but it sucks that you have to pay an arm and a leg for a full character creator and digital books.Version: 1.8.0

ReviewI love this app so much it helps me create my characters.Version: 2.25

Good but could be betterI play a ton of D&D and am always looking for ways to make characters on the go so D&D Beyond is nice cuz it makes it easier however I like to use Reroll to make my characters come to life, some sort of partnership would be sweet to see!!!.Version: 2.44

Very happyThis is exactly what I’ve been waiting for as both a DM and a player, I love that you’ve focussed on using abilities and spells and being able to view all of the most important things first and can’t wait for future updates to make this even more convenient. Thank you!!.Version: 1.0

Character building and resources made easyUsing the app is a little tricky at first but once you get it. it makes gameplay extremely easy. it’s awesome to be able to hit one of the tabs at the bottom and bring up all the books in your library look up stuff on the fly from monsters a magic items. in ease of access to the D&D Beyond site makes using homebrew stuff incredible. I new to D&D and have been using the app since I started playing. around updates are the only time I have issues because there’s usually a lot of bugs to be worked out. but other than that it is so easy to use. The app does all the game mechanics adding up numbers and formulas for your character sheet..Version: 2.7

Fantastic tool with room for growthI love this app yet it carries over one of my biggest gripes from the website - I would love to be able to set custom defaults to the “home” page of player creation. My group nearly never uses MTG or Eberron content but we very regularly use playtest and CR material. We level on XP and roll for HP. It’s really annoying having to change every single one of these toggles EVERY time I want to make a new character. Surely I should be able to set these to my default preferences and then, if I ever want to use MTG content, I’ll flip that switch on the character that needs it. Otherwise, this app is beautiful and I love it..Version: 1.0.1

I don’t write reviews. But.LOVE.Version: 2.4.2

A fantastic toolEasily one of the most powerful tools for D&D 5e players. Easy to use, crisp and clean design and very smooth moving from app to PC. Offers a great alternative to keeping all the books and offers the ability to quickly insert solid content into any game setting. Finally allows for players of Adventure League to keep up with latest stats and charter options. However, it is worth noting that unfortunately some 5e content has been removed, and unfortunately does not sound it will be available anymore in any form. While the update to stats and and such are understandable, it is unfortunate that so much world building content is being left out of reach for anyone who did not previously purchase it..Version: 2.12

Character Creation IssueSo essentially I normally used the website, at some point I got on as usual and tried to make a character sheet for a campaign however, when I clicked to make one it didn’t load at all and I even tried to just access my already created characters but, it still didn’t work. I got on the app, while I could access my already created character sheets, I for some reason still couldn’t make a new one. I’ve tried and tried and I’m not even sure if it’s an internet issue or not anymore, either way I would still like for this to be fixed as I’ve actually enjoyed making characters on dnd beyond and the way things have worked originally, but if I can’t make a character sheet then it removed a lot of the enjoyment. I love dnd beyond and it’s well done in my opinion but, I would love for this issue to be remedied, thank you. P.S. (Sorry if there’s a chance this came off as aggressive I don’t mean for it to- I genuinely do love dnd beyond and that’s exactly why I wrote this, so I can keep using it! Once again, thank you!).Version: 2.28

Fantastic app, but a few things…This is just an incredible app. It is fantastic for almost everything a D&D player needs! I say almost because it does not give you access to everything that you can use on the web app. I would give this five stars if we could create homebrew content, choose which elements of a book you wish to buy, as well as a few other things. Also, the books are cheaper on the web app! The D&D Beyond team did not care to change the prices properly from USD to GBP, and so if I bought Monsters of the Multiverse online, it would charge me £2 less than on the app!! Please fix this….Version: 2.12

Pretty darn goodWhen the internets not working and I need to campaign this app lives up to expectations, and apps are the few things I’d like to think so that.Version: 2.35

Essential app for D&D (Beyond) playersA solid MVP that every D&D Beyond subscriber or regular players of the RPG should check out. Better than just about everything else on the market. Automates much of the data tedium in the game tracking character progression. Looking forward to a few of the greyed-our options making their way into production in the near future, as well as tighter integration with subscription content such as PHB, DMG, MM etc. Impressive debut.Version: 1.0

Really helpful d&d tool for players and DMs alikeOverall, the app is amazing as a tool to keep your stuff together in one place, especially for players in the app’s case. It definitely feels like it’s still a WIP to an extent due to how it’s missing a good amount of functions that the website has (color themes, campaign setup/encounter creator, collections tab, homebrew section, etc.) and is a bit unpolished on the look and functionality of the of the digital copies for the books, but is definitely more convenient and smooth-running than the web version in what it does currently have. All in all, thank you Wizards of the Coast and FANDOM for making this app as smooth-running as it is, and I can’t wait for it to become equal in function to the website for all of my dungeon-delving needs!.Version: 2.17

A good startA good start, nice being able to just log into the app and view the details. I think when everything is completed it’ll be excellent..Version: 1.0

Great tool for all ranges of players!I am a pretty veteran dnd player and had a lot of doubts about using dnd beyond, mostly because of having to by the source books again from them. After agreeing to dm a campaign with 8 people I knew my usual all paper setup wouldn’t work as I would have no clue of what my players character sheets had on then to balance encounters and such. I needed an online source to hold all their sheets. Roll20 would have worked but I would have had to insert everything about every characters sheets into their roll20 sheets as they did not know how to. After figuring out you can use unpublished homebrew in your own campaigns with a master teir subscription, I decided to try it out for a month and after some success with setting up some characters I ended up also buying a couple source books on their. I have to say it was a wonderful decision. For vets. It’s a great way to keep track of everything and make sure even if players lose their paper sheet they’ll be able to play. And for new players, everything lays itself out to you and I wouldn’t get right out of the get go trying to make homebrew, but telling people what dice to roll and all the modifiers it gets right there is so helpful..Version: 2.10

Great way to have funThis app lets you play D&D any time, anywhere.Version: 2.24

Crazy useful, but sometimes annoyingThis app was quite helpful, we didn’t have to constantly write and erase inventory items and hit points and money and such on a piece of paper. You can access spells, monsters, and items with filters and overall the system was excellent. The problem is feats. DND beyond only lets you add feats and subclasses from the guidebooks if you own those said guidebooks’ digital edition in the app. I don’t want to spend $30 just to be able to get access to the feats I already know. This means I resorted to going back to paper to write them down. Many people have this problem to. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 🙏 let us get the digital volumes for free if we already own the physical versions. I NEED MORE THAN ONE SUBCLASS OPTION FOR MY CHARACTERS!! Other than that the app is amazing. If you need a stat app for dnd, Beyond should your number 1 go-to. 👍.Version: 2.45

Such an amazing toolI used to start buying the physical books, which I love, but those take up space and can be a pain searching for that one thing you need out of who knows how many books. The character creation and maintenance on the app is amazing and fun to do. Feels easier to find and try new things and have all of your character laid out nice and neatly. And reading the books is still just as good on a big enough screen. It’s doable on a phone but a tablet of computer is a preferred size. Highly recommend. Be a nerd and spend your nerd money on nerd stuff!.Version: 2.23

Super easy to useIdeal for playing online or in person. Digital copies of all my books to hand either in app or through a browser! Makes character creation and dice rolling easier and quicker!.Version: 2.43

Amazing⚔️D&D beyond is so useful, making characters is made so easy with this amazing app.🏹🐉.Version: 2.45

Excellent upgrades to this D&D resourceUsed this app (or the app that was this one’s predecessor) since 2019 and the improvements are spectacular. The compendium library is easy to access, get updates, and the search and bookmark features work really well. The recent addition of the campaigns and characters tabs - even though the editing of the characters is still a web view experience, it is well done - make this app great for getting a DM inspiration and you maybe want to check your player’s stats. Keep up the great work. I know you’ll be getting that home brew monster or magic item creation feature coming soon, right? Oh and check the sound (does the app play sound anywhere in the app?) Sometimes when I’m listening to Apple Music and I tap into a character the sound stops playback. Could be Bluetooth related. But not a showstopper. Great work, great improvements, and great experience for getting all my D&D lore needs met. Thanks! Keep it up!.Version: 2.8

Good apps and time saveIt has save me lots of time and conveniently stores and sorts information..Version: 2.39

Quick, easy, streamlinedGreat app! Makes playing the game a lot easier and able to store all my characters, media and core.Version: 2.11

Missing a few thingsNow don’t get me wrong, I love everything about dnd beyond, but what really bugs me is that either certain races aren’t in the app or I need to pay to access them, I just want to make a Triton character but I can’t, I don’t have the money to pay for subscriptions, I understand the devs might be tired and stuff, but please add all the races in without subscriptions, I know you need money but this is minor.Version: 2.24

Please help.I love D&D Beyond, it is easy for newcomers to the world of D&D, however the app is not vary accessible. Me and my party are visually impaired, we have found that your app and website is not vary accessible to the blind and visually impaired community who want to play D&D. We use D&D Beyond because it is the easiest to build and manage characters. I wanted to ask if you could make your app more accessible. One way to make D&D Beyond more accessible is having options to make text bigger, different text and background crolors, and VoiceOver support on both the app and website. Maybe also make it so you don't have to go to the website to add experience to your character. When these problems are solved, I will give the app 5 stars. Thank you..Version: 2.19

D&D “Right at”D&D Beyond doesn’t exceed or go “Beyond” what one would expect from the official online platform for source materials. It does a decent job of providing resources, but as I write this review while it is still early morning and I’m trying to catch my breath on the stair master I can think of 2 things I wish it did. First, I wish when editing my character I could see the feats, spells, races, etc. for the content I have bought. The content could be greyed out, hyperlinked, or a combination of the two but it could withhold the description as well as prohibit me from using it in the character builder, however this would allow me to know what I’m missing and would actually prompt to purchase the content versus not knowing what I don’t know. Second, every now and then there are options to “update” the digital content I have purchased. You aren’t required to update the content but it would be great if there was a log list or description of what the updates are? Many of us have encountered digital upgrades in many forms, such as phones, games, tv software, the list goes on but sometimes those upgrades are later regretted do to losing functionality or content. DnDB knows the changes the update will make, just let the user have a small window into why we should update..Version: 2.18

Content 5 stars, but not user-friendliness.I love the content on D&D Beyond, but the app is not always easy to use. I use the Listings feature more than any other part, to look up monsters, spells, etc., and it is generally tedious filtering things properly. It would be hugely helpful if there were a tool that could filter for results from the books the user owns; instead, I have to run over the list of all books, and pick out each of the ones I own each time I run a search where I want to only see results I can open. I also really wish spells had an option to filter by damage type, the way they have on the D&D Beyond website. In spite of all I have said, I still love this app, and find it much more convenient to use than a print book, and usually more convenient than the website..Version: 2.23

Great appI’m pleasantly surprised by this app. It does exactly what it says it does, and is easy to navigate. Shows you exactly what you need, and being able to swipe between abilities to skills to spells is handy and fluid, for example. Recommend for a D&D player, especially if you have an existing account..Version: 1.0

On the goThis is a very useful resource for RPers on the go. No need to carry around three bags of rule books, just need a phone or a tablet. 😀.Version: 2.23

LuckyI love luck.Version: 2.11

AwesomeVery helpful and enjoyable recommend with friends but I can’t figure out how to make a game session or join one please help!!!.Version: 2.6

Amazing app in need of one feature! This an all round amazing app, use it for all of my DnD needs! Only problem is, I really want a game log tracker, so DMs don’t need to open up the website to see if their players are fudging each individual roll..Version: 2.2

BEST DND APP EVERI am new to dungeons and dragons so this is extremely helpful.Version: 2.43

WonderfulThis helped me so much with my campaign thank you!.Version: 2.25

Great! But do not use app to buy.If you are from canada, buy books via web site! Price are higher on the app and promotion do not appear on the app..Version: 2.27

Great appI love this app it is amazing for all thing dnd.Version: 2.31

Waiting waiting waitingStill waiting on homebrewing classes.Version: 2.8

Very GoodI did the thing and it was good..Version: 2.0.2

For anyone who wanting not to be shuffling through sheets mid session.Great app. Allows for easy character creation. Great for looking at published materials and getting ideas..Version: 2.44

GoodI had no life, no friends and no money before downloading this app… I still do.Version: 2.25

Simple in the best ways :)Listen I absolutely love the website layout and the customization settings for character sheets. The app is pretty different in layout compared to the app (something everyone should assume when getting an app instead of the browser) I was a little confused at first but quickly learned to find my way through the app. I believe it’s made my dnd experience smoother as well especially to look at the other players in the campaign. Before I’d have to have separate tabs open on my laptop and constantly refresh to look after my party but now it’s pretty simple. I’ve been on and off dnd for about two years now and I’m very happy for this new hobby that I’ve fallen in love with. Using the app on the IPad is the best btw I feel like Edna from the incredibles w her lil remote lol. Uhhh only criticism is I wish there was more customization for player sheets but that’s only cause I’m a sucker for those things but it doesn’t change how smooth and fast this app runs..Version: 2.19

Good platform. It really is a good platform for creating characters and keeping all your dnd content in one easy to access place. Would be nice to be able to customise some settings a little more to allow for home-brew of certain things such as custom death etc. I hope they won’t force us to use dnd one as I have no interest in that. Otherwise I will be using this service for as long as I play dnd..Version: 2.39

Very nice.I really enjoy this app that my friend told me about. Said friend had a mental break down when he couldn’t log into the app. Still good:).Version: 2.23

D&D Beyond upgrade!Easy, quick access. But not dice yet, looks promising!.Version: 1.0

Lots of potential!Because this app is still in early development, my rating is based on the quality of what’s there, not what they’re still working on implementing. I love that they finally made an easy way to access character sheets on mobile (the website worked fine, but it was still more of a hassle than just going to an app). The features they’ve added so far are great. I can do most of the essential things in the app, and there’s an easily accessible pop up for the website that lets you do everything else. Once this app is finished I’m sure it will be a great way to manage my characters. In addition to implementing all of the regular character sheet stuff, something I would like to see added would be access to my campaigns, so I can see my friends’ characters in the app too..Version: 1.0

Excellent StuffVery easy to use. I’m enjoying the access to all my D&D books on my iPad and not having to take my laptop to out games..Version: 2.32

Love it and if you love DnDB, you should tooFirst, let’s get one thing out of the way: buying physical copies of the books does not entitle you to all the content on DnDBeyond. I am amazed that I am still seeing that nonsense, years after they started licensing the digital content. This is a companion app for DnDBeyond and you only have access to what you have purchased through DnDBeyond. Okay? Get it? Alright, let’s move on. Yeesh. The app works great for everything it supports. The search engine is fast and reliable, character pages look great and are nearly all features on the web are supported now. It’s smooth and book updates are much easier on data now. At this point, if you use DDB and not the app, you’re crazy..Version: 2.7

I used to be lame and “normal” (gross) but then I tried dndI used to do everything in the world to fit in but found myself surrounded by people who didn’t understand anything interesting and cared about all the wrong things. I begrudgingly tried dnd in my boyfriends new campaign where he was to be the DM. 2 years later I am so obsessed. I’ve met such interesting and kind people and my imagination isn’t being stifled by adulthood anymore. The dnd beyond app is perfect and they had snowflakes on Christmas Day and we all freaked out and were so happy. Okay the end I like dnd beyond. Bye 🥹.Version: 2.35

Great appThis app is fantastic. Yes they give you limited number of characters unless you subscribe but you can still make your characters on paper like we did in the 80’s. You can buy all the rule books and adventures digitally for $15 - $20 less then the physical copies at the book store and it’s way faster to get the information. Makes the game way more user friendly. I can’t rate it highly enough..Version: 2.44

UpdateLove the new update that allows you to adjust your character lvls.Version: 2.7.1

Dnd beyond ratingI started playing recently, and ive died two times. but ive used dnd beyond to create my characters. all whom are unsuccessful..Version: 2.37

As seen on Critical Role! But I got a problemLove the app have been using it for over 2 years now. We are some of the blessed. My homie and DM won a raffle from you guys and shared the full collection with us. And we’ve noticed while using your app a particular issue. When creating a character after a previous update (not sure when) post Tasha Cauldron of Everything, I can’t create an artificer! Every other class and unlocked subclass (That we own) works fine in creation except Artificer! One of our homies had a multiclassing Artificer created pre-patch, and wanted to use it (considering we can’t creat a new one) to multiclass into a blood-hunter. I thought that sounded awesome! but ran into all the problems above and found even after troubleshooting on his app the pre patch Artificer he already had made was unable to multi-class into a blood hunter. Otherwise Lovely App!! As a DM and a player, there’s just nothing else like D&D Beyond!.Version: 2.5

Excellent DND appI didn’t realise how much I needed this app until started using it. This is a very high quality app, intuitive and easy to use with fantastic graphics. There is a lot of free content, like the basic rules but if you are a DnD nut like me then you will want to take out one of the subscriptions, for me, they are worth their weight in gold. I have the main rule books in hardback and also in ebooks on this app. This is a brilliant aid for DMs and players alike. It’s so easy to look up any rules or queries straight away and any updates to the books are carried out automatically. Plus you can get the latest publications immediately. My favourite accessory is being able to generate characters and monsters easily making this time consuming task a joy and not a chore. To sum up my review, I love this app and wouldn’t be without it..Version: 2.20

Newcomer friendlyI’m new to D&D as a whole but not to roleplaying as I come from a Vampire the Masquerade background. This app helped me create my own character with ease and made my experience an enjoyable one. Syncs nicely with the browser version too and I even had my first session zero yesterday of my first D&D experience. I purchased a bundle (PHB, Xanathar, Tasha and Sword Coast) and have no regrets. My advice (even with OneD&D around the corner) is to use this app at least once. Easy, editable and supports home brew content too..Version: 2.17

Pretty good but...On the whole, it’s great for most things, however, there seems to be a glitch where all of my sorcerers will only roll a 4, no matter what dice is used, when casting spells. I even did a test crit roll for meteor swarm, and got 40 4’s. It even does it on a d20, which is very annoying. I tend to use Avrae when playing online, and real dice when in person, much better😅.Version: 2.19

Great AppSuch a good app to create you’re DnD character.Version: 2.38

Pretty Good! From what I can see of the app, it’s pretty good! It did take a little while to download, but that might just be because of my device. However, I don’t see a way to roll dice like on the website. This app will be extremely useful, as it allows me to only need one tab open on my computer when I play. It makes it so much easier to access all my character’s stats and info, even if some of the tabs (such as notes) are still under development and can’t be used. Even with two monitors, needing two websites open at the sane time while also having a communication software open on the second monitor can be a little difficult to manage. Thank you for making this app, it’s going to make my life so much easier!! My only suggestion at this point is to add a dice rolling feature like the one on the website..Version: 1.0

I LOVE THIS APPThis amazing app is just so great and so many options, although if you already have a lot of books and physical DnD things, unless you want to spend twice the money on more DnD things then maybe this isn’t the app for you, but if you were like me and didn’t do that then DnD beyond is, in my opinion, much better, the maps, the cheap memberships, the extra customizable options, the home brew content, I could go on for hours talking about this app. Although even if you have a bunch of physical DnD stuff it can still be very helpful, so I suggest this app to everybody even slightly interested or curious in DnD. So hopefully this app helps somebody start rolling their dice! (Digital or not!).Version: 2.43

Vital to my gaming experienceIf you are playing dnd, you really should get this app..Version: 2.38

D&D Beyond Any ExpectationsI have only been playing D&D for over a year now and the D&D beyond website and app have become essential for: content; building characters correctly; and helps you feel like a novice to someone who knows what they are talking about quickly. My only gripe is in the app when you click on your character and got to the “Extra” sections. On the desktop site I can view my Owlbear companion (managing their health etc); but it does not appear on the app yet. It has said it is under development for some time. This would really complete my game paying experience perfectly. Please could you help by fixing this ASAP. My celestial warlock would be eternally grateful..Version: 2.1

The app works well butThe app works great and it’s so easy to navigate and use during campaigns or one shots but it’s so expensive and I understand why because you have price with real copy’s of the books but a little extra free content would be nice there is only one feat and bearley any subclasses. I’m just greedy and want more character options for free I’m not even asking for a free book just a little content lol over all the app is awesome and does the job.Version: 2.14

Great help, but there are a few problems in BetaSo I love the D&D beyond website for making characters for my campaigns, but since the app is still in it’s sort of early stages, there are some (but not many) problems I’ve had, more or less just tedious little things. One thing, not currently able to edit anything on a completed character, such as their inventory, gold amount, notes, etc. The only way to do it is to click the website link to do it from there. It isn’t much of a problem, just would be easier and smoother if you didn’t have to go to load the website to edit something or add XP. Another thing is there are a few bugs if you try to create a character on the phone sometimes. I can’t recall what I was doing exactly, but while helping a player create a character, the option they chose pretty much froze the whole process, and then closed the app. When they got back on, a little of their work was saved, but the past 5-10 minutes of work wasn’t. Outside of those problems, I think it is a great app and is still very helpful for running campaigns so no one has to carry around the paper version! Can’t wait for the app to progress even further!.Version: 1.3.0

Improved with the updateFew teething problems, had trouble opening some content and missed the class tags on spells. These both got fixed with the latest update so it’s 5*s from me for this super handy tool. It’ll never replace the books for me but when you’re at the table and you gotta check your players spells or looks something up real quick, it’s a real time saver. A must have for any Dm or player.Version: 2.0.2

Outstanding tool for D&DMy friends and I are all relatively new to D&D, this has been a great tool for learning the ropes and It’s evident the developers are keen to continue updating features on the app which is good. It would be good to be able to start campaigns from the mobile app though, unless I’m just blind and can’t figure it out! Thanks D&D beyond team..Version: 2.8

Good, but staticThe only things you can modify in the app are spells/abilities used and currency. Otherwise you have to have the app open the website in the app. Unfortunately, the spells used sometimes hangs or forgets that you used a slot. Even worse, the currency does too. So you can’t trust that it will give you the same amount of money from one day to the next. If you’re just viewing your character and rolling dice/saves/attacks, it works well enough (except for the spell issue above). It doesn’t show most custom modifications, though. So if you rename an item or add notes, they may not be visible unless on the website..Version: 2.1

Amazing, helpful, and works great!I was very hesitant about jumping into the digital world after stubbornly being a pencil and paper player for so long. But it’s so good! It hasn’t hampered my play at all. It’s actually helping me organize my stuff a lot better, keep track of my items and inventory, attunement slots, and everything. And multiclassing? So easy!! I don’t need to worry about figuring out how many spell slots are for what class! If there was one critique it would be that the artificer infusions are pretty clunky. And they only work if you set them up on a browser and not on the app. But in general, it’s wonderful!.Version: 2.29

Great appThe app is functionally fantastic though some of the things the company were trying early in the were concerning beyond that I’d say it’s almost perfect.Version: 2.29

GoldHello I was just wondering how do I add gold and remove it through the app without going to the character sheet.Version: 1.3.0

BooksOverall, this is a useful app. However, a lot of the content you cannot access without buying digital versions of books. I have physical books, and I cannot access the background I want for my character without buying a digital copy of a book I already own..Version: 2.31

Quite surprisedReally pleased with all this app has to offer on a free basis. I’m really excited to try the encounters with some friends on an actual game..Version: 2.9

Love itI love it. It helps me with being the Dungeon Master when playing D&D with my fellow members of Critical Roll. Ashley Johnson also enjoys using this app. So download this app. Sincerely Form Critical Role.Version: 2.5

A whole lot easierDefinitely makes it easier than having to rely on internet connections all the time. However, would love to be able to adjust the equipment I’m using or wearing in-app. E.g. my character doesn’t always want to wield his shield, but in the app, I can’t ‘stow’ it away. Also, would love to be able to use the dice from the D&D Beyond website in app as well. All of this hopefully to come in app updates!.Version: 1.0

My reviewI really like this store as you can really get a good campaign and play it. It’s also really good for beginners who don’t know how to play; you can also get some interesting monsters, staffs, magi. Items etc..Version: 2.45

Minor issueThe app would ask you to agree to Google’s privacy policy AND TRACKING if you're planning on shortcutting to the Google login. IOS tracking is automatically locked for those who don't meet the minimum age requirements. A small heads-up for other teens that might run into this issue..Version: 2.45

Wait for the Fully Functional VersionIf you’re like me and use DnD Beyond primarily for dice rolling and character editing whilst in game then I would wait for updates which are expected to come. Right now as a basic overview tool for your character it works well. The app itself is stable and runs smoothly with no technical issues. It’s a good framework that will hopefully blossom into a fully functioning mobile version of the desktop website soon. At that point I would give it five stars..Version: 1.0

French versionIt’s possible to make a french version, please ? ^^.Version: 2.44

Let us use ApplePay to buy SubscriptionThis app is amazing. It helps track everything you need about a character, and you can use it to read dnd adventures. My only ask is that you let us use ApplePay to pay for the subscription, as it is how a lot of us pay for things. The fact that it redirects you to the website when you try to buy it is very bad for people who don’t trust the internet as much..Version: 2.2

Great app but limited in optionsDon’t get me wrong the way the app works is great but if you want to have all the options for characters or campaigns you have to spend a fortune on in app books and you cannot buy the physical copies as they don’t transfer onto the app..Version: 2.34

Getting betterI wrote the below a week or two ago and I can now eat some crow. Extras finally shows your pets and that is amazing and awesome. It's great for what it is, which is a massive compendium of content. But there's this crazy place called Google that does the same thing... just not in one place. Here's what's broken: Searching for multiple words takes the first word of the search and ignores everything else. Searching also fails when using an apostrophe (like in the word Tasha's) and returns no results. Lastly (and most importantly), the fact that you can't create or level up characters within the app and are taken to the website breaks utilization if you have no internet. Who designs a core feature for a tabletop game that REQUIRES internet? As someone who's written software for almost 20 years, there's no reason for this. Everyone complaining about a lack of content: Shut up. While the app has issues, content isn't free and creators should be paid. You are free to grab the SRD (free) and create your own homebrew content (free)..Version: 2.9

DeleteHow do you delete a character? If that isn’t a feature can you please add it? Also can you add a way where we can link the character’s sheet like on the website? Thank you! Other than that this is super useful..Version: 1.1.0

Good but an idea to make it more compatibleA good idea would be a way to scan the books you have bought physically so that you don’t have to spend more unnecessary money to buy a digital copy of a book you already have Good app and simple to use good for beginners to veterans at dnd and it makes it easier for the ‘‘em to run his campaign just I had gotten Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Volos guide to monsters, and Xergoths (I think) guide to monsters and I really wanted to show of my new character to my friends who use this app but I had to spend money..Version: 2.38

So far so good!Literally sat down for my first remote session today without good internet and all my character sheets, so this was a life saver! I’m looking forward to using this regularly for my games 😊.Version: 1.0

Always improvingBrilliant app that is constantly trying to improve itself..Version: 2.7

Solid appThere is a lot to like about this app and it’s usefulness in supporting game play. The built-in dice roller is nice. My only criticism is that there is not a way to unlock features from the books without buying the books in the app. I own print copies of some and it would be nice to use the subclasses and features from those books in the characters I generate in the app. I understand not accessing the full text in the app without purchasing the books, but it would be nice to be able incorporate the character class features. Maybe keep the items and spells locked as a compromise?.Version: 2.41

DNDIt is just good.Version: 2.45

I wish they wouldn’t make you pay money for races, classes, etc.I really wish this app didn’t make you pay for the stuff that you use to make your character like you have to pay just for all the rest of the races, classes, weapons, armor, etc! But other than that it’s a great app and I understand you need a way to make money but if you make people pay for what I said earlier it’s gonna drive people away to other dnd apps like 5e companion app. I really hope in the future you really consider making those things free so people won’t go to other apps that are better because they have more things than this app! Sincerely, Ghost.Version: 1.10.1

Great app, just two issues1) When using on offline, when I save a certain amount of money and and I join back into Online mode, the change is not saved. 2) If reading the Player Handbook and storage is full, a storage full error comes up ( which is not an issue) but if I clear storage then try to open the Handbook, the error message still comes up Either way, great app and pretty useful when quick referencing my stats/ proficiencies during game.Version: 2.0.1

Great app for organising your character sheets and campaignsAs a D&D fan, this app is amazing for organising all my sheets and campaigns! I’ve had great fun playing with my friends from afar but I just wish that some of the campaigns weren’t so pricey..Version: 2.41

Quick and lightweight, but could do with dice rollsIt’s a well designed app, seems very quick and responsive and doesn’t take up too much room. Unfortunately I don’t use it during games because it doesn’t have built in dice rolls like the main website does..Version: 1.1.0

Great at the table, clunky to edit charactersThis app has replaced standard character sheets almost entirely, being able to track health and money and spell slots without erasing holes through the sheet by the end of the campaign is really nice. I would also never have tried to keep track of a complex multiclassed character before, but that’s partly just dndbeyond being great in general. The one minor issue is creating and editing characters launches a browser to open the site to edit them. It works perfectly fine but it’s a little weird. There are plenty of great third party apps that can also do this, but if you have the books in dndbeyond or you have a DM who does and can share with the top tier subscription, then there really is nothing as easy to use as this. If you don’t play dnd then this app is only for you once you go and play dnd. Why haven’t you done that? Go do that. Or make a character sheet for fun anyway! I’m not your mom I can’t tell you what to do..Version: 2.15
