HRV4Biofeedback for Positive User Reviews

Great for what it does, want it to do moreI doubted their claim of HRV and HR accuracy. I have a Polar h10 and I compared measurements and to my surprise HRV4BIOFEEDBACK optical sensor accuracy was the same as Polar! Very impressive. I like how you get the scores and can see the effects on mood and whatnot. Helpful to see trends over time. Major criticism is that the breathing visual is hard to see. They need to do something with more contrast. Only rated 4 stars because there is so much more they could do with the biofeedback exercise rather than just breathing. Guided meditation, sound, etc..Version: 1.3.5

Super valuableI’ve found this app to be incredibly valuable for measuring and managing my life stress..Version: 1.2.4

GamechangerI bought my iPhone SE just to use these apps, and they do not disappoint. Major boost to daily insight into your health, with a reliable way to induce parasympathetic nervous system response and relax into being a healthier person..Version: 1.3.4

Not only for elite athletesAs an active senior, I rarely miss a morning where I don’t use this App. Keeps me honest so that I don’t over train. That morning resting heart rate feature can set the tone for what kind of activity would be best for that day, as well..Version: 1.0.8

Best meditation / breathing app - check HRVSimple way to do deep breathing . Simple interface with customizable breathing rate and method to check resonant frequency. Tracks streaks and 7day time for motivation / consistency.Version: 1.2.6

IncredibleAs a doctor of physical therapy and a biofeedback practitioner for several years using very high end and costly equipment from Thought Technologies/Montreal Canada, the functionality in this app is spot on and exceedingly advanced for the price and simplicity. Would highly recommend pairing it with the Polar strap..Version: 1.0

Great Biofeedback AppThis is a great app for learning about and measuring your heart rate variability and works with the camera on your phone. It uses a breathing exercise to measure and improve your heart rate variability, which is an indication of the health of your nervous system. The breathing exercise can be customized to your preferences. There’s heaps of additional information available and the app developers got back to my query straight away!.Version: 1.2.7

A powerful meditation toolI’ve found this tool incredible helpful for dealing with stress and fatigue. My only improvement would be a more subtle way to notify the peak and trough of the breathing cycle..Version: 1.2.7

Amazing results! This is the single most impactful app I’ve found for getting myself to center and feeling more in the “flow” state in a super short time. Replacing/supplementing my normal meditation time and the impact is amazing. There are a couple of small things I’d change on the app, but the team that makes it is awesome so I’m sure they’ll nail this; I have been using their other app (HRV4Training)and it launches new features and great updates all the time so I’m looking forward to where they go with this..Version: 1.0

Works great; feature requests.I’ve used HRV4TRAINING for over a year.Recently, I listened to Marco‘s interview with Dr. Khazan, and decided to try out biofeedback. The app pairs well with Dr. Khazan’s book, and I’ve maintained a breathwork practice via the app for a a few weeks. It took me a few weeks to realize the “Power” graph represented my breathing rate. Consider adding an additional label for the layperson such as myself. I wonder if research shows that the optimal resonant frequency changes after some training, and if so, then the app could suggest retesting for your ideal frequency every two weeks or so. I don’t own an Apple Watch, but have friends that do, and I’d like to recommend the app to them. You mention the watch doesn’t deliver live data, but is live data required? If the watch can store up to 20 minutes of HRV data, then send it to the phone for the app to process, doesn’t that work just as well? Even to find your resonant frequency, the app can change the visual breathing pattern, and match time stamps to sync up the frequencies to HRV. Lastly, is it possible to allow the app to operate in the background? I’m using a consumer EEG with an associated iOS meditation app, and would be very curious to record my breathwork while simultaneously recording my brain waves. Great work, sir. Cheers..Version: 1.2.4
