Stretching & Flexibility: Bend for Negative User Reviews

Not worth the price!!!Looked at this in an ad. Said free to download and I wanted to see what it was about… NO Free trial period and was charged immediately to my card. I clicked cancel as soon as it said next payment date 2024 !!!! Contains basic exercises being doing for years…. Not even relaxing music with this app to go though this very basic program! Now I am out approximately $50 Canadian.Version: 4.1.0

No longer freeUsed to be my favourite app for stretching and was completely free. Now the only free thing is a 5minute stretch..Version: 4.0.7

DisappointingIt looked promising.. you go through the quiz to only then have access to one 5 min wake up routine. And that's only for a week..?and all the stretches re stationary which is not what you want for a morning warm up so I ended up modifying anyway..Version: 4.1.1

Simple, good, but not greatThe app is aesthetically really appealing and a pleasure to use. There’s a few different workouts you can choose from, one is free, and it tracks your streak as well as a couple of other metrics whilst also providing a timer during your stretches. Unfortunately this is where the free version ends. The full version is £20 which feels incredibly steep considering you unlock 4 other stretch workouts, and that’s it. The stretches aren’t unique to this app, they can all be found online for free, so you really do wonder what your money goes towards. With this in mind, some features I’d like to see that would make me want the premium version, if it was reasonably priced, would be 1) the ability to make custom routines and 2) more targeted routines such as one for runners, one for those with a bad back, etc. The free version is okay but the app is held back by its steep pricing structure and lack of further functionality.Version: 2.0.3

Another sketchy appAttempt to find how much the subscription is….hidden! 7 days free, c’mon!.Version: 3.2.1

Nothing FreeYou MUST BUY a subscription, no free trials, I don’t buy anything without a trial..Version: 4.0.9

Meh.No better than any of the free stretching apps out there, certainly not worth a monthly subscription fee for essentially the same as the free options. Needs to do more to stand out if they want folks to pay up..Version: 4.0.1

Way to expensive for what it isThis app charges monthly to provide a predetermined set of stretches. No reason to charge a monthly fee for an app like this where there is no real added value on an ongoing basis. Also, no actual video demonstrations of the stretches..Version: 4.1.0

Add intermediate poses please or a button to take pictures and add custom posesWould give 5 stars if you add at least 100 yoga poses. There’s some poses I would like to add to my routine but can’t which makes it difficult for me to do yoga at home by myself because of my ADHD. I have to remember what pose to do after a certain pose which makes it a bit of a challenge for me to complete my routine. I do love how easy it is to navigate the app. Please add more poses. Or at least add a button where I can take pictures and name and add my own custom poses please. That would help so many people who has to modify their poses to use like yoga blocks , straps and blosters due to like a injury or age..Version: 4.0.4

ExerciseReally a con. Doesn’t change the moves No feed back Why pay money for this.Version: 4.0.9

Stop, asking me to rate you.See above..Version: 4.1.2

Low Quality for a Premium PriceI really wanted to love this app, but the fact that there are no video instructions for the stretches (I realise there are written instructions, but as a beginner, you really need someone physically showing you how to do the stretches properly, so you don’t injure yourself), there’s not even any background music, it’s just not worth the $40 I paid. That is SO much money for what is such a basic exercise app! A complete rip off. I’m really disappointed...Version: 4.0.9

Some potentialSo there’s lots of potential but I think could be better. There’s no vocal instructions during the exercises, if you select the ! Then it gives you more info but then it stops the flow I think. Because of lack of instructions some poses felt quite unsafe to me. I see the Q & A section said this is because users wanted it simple but really don’t think audio assistance would complicate that much more. In some apps it would say ‘do this instead if you can’t do this or give you pointers in holding the pose properly. I also did poses whilst playing music from music app otherwise can be a bit boring. I paid for the annual membership because it seemed better value but probably wouldn’t buy again to be honest..Version: 4.0.7

Maybe it’s me, but…… I find the routines almost useless I can’t get from standing up to do a ‘rag doll’ stretch to lying down to do an ‘upward dog’ in the few seconds given to me. The app doesn’t tell you the space you need available, either, so I’ve started out in inadequate spaces twice. I give up. I live stretching, and I was very excited to see this app, but it’s clearly not meant for me..Version: 3.3.7

It Could Be BetterThe app is easy to use. You can't manually enter your own stretch routines. Nor can you log a missed routine. The app failed to log a routine and my streak was broken, with no way to correct my record. I contacted tech support and they were not able to correct my streak either. Very disappointing. The app doesn't hold or record your previous routines so that you can review your history. So for these reasons, the 3 stars. I do enjoy the variety of stretch routines and the graphics..Version: 3.1.8

Don’t botherOnly download if you are prepare to pay the monthly fee. Only ‘Wake up’ is included, everything else is ‘premium’. Don’t bother..Version: 3.1.4

Won’t provide trial period to testThe small portion of the app they allow you to try is very limited. I wanted to test out the stretching before bed as the wake stretches do not fit my schedule however, that portion is not available on the trial. I emailed support but they would not respond. I was not able to try the before bed portion of the app unless I signed up with a payment option for a short trial. It allowed me to view the morning stretches. I was simply wanting to try out the before bed stretches before deciding if I wanted to purchase. I prefer to try before providing payment information as I have been charged in the past when I choose not to continue with the app..Version: 3.3.2

Ok but it’s not very customisable.I’m 67 and have a number of weak points. Also under the NHS physio. There’s no way some of the suggested exercises are possible or valid. There’s no accounting for age, weight etc neither. It’s OK as a list of exercises and schedule butcannot be properly tailored to suit an individual. Disappointing..Version: 4.0.9

It helps me make stretching a routineI assume I could stretch each morning without an app, but I never did. This helps make it a routine, and I stretch a lot more using it. Highly recommend if you are a beginner that needs some guidance and encouragement. I paid for it, it tracks how many days in a row I stretch, my longest continuous run of days using it. The timer is a nice feature, otherwise I would cheat. I wish they had a monthly percentage of days used. When you miss a day, you go to zero. It would be a lot more motivating if it could say I stretched 80% of the month, not just 5 days in a row, then back to zero..Version: 4.0.7

Good beta but needs improvementThere are too few options, it would be good to have more stretch routines and more varied stretch routines available given the price… and the option to listen to music while stretching. I wouldn’t buy it if I could go back..Version: 4.0.7

Money grabDecent app, easy to use but very limited functionality in the free version..Version: 4.1.1

Money grabI like the app and I like the stretches but nothing is free after seven days. I had a one year subscription, but nothing changed in the app, so why are they asking me to pay forever. A one time payment would be a more palatable option. Deleting the app and looking for alternatives..Version: 4.0.8

Poor workout explanationThe explanation for the exercises is an icon plus two sentences. It’s not possible to follow the instructions unless you know already what to do. I’m not willing to pay for that..Version: 4.0.9

Very difficult to log in from multiple devicesVery difficult to log in from multiple devices, and the customer service option is extremely slow. A minimum of 24 to 48 hours to get a response is pretty poor for a paid service. No video demonstrations for the stretches, just pictures and written descriptions. Do not recommend..Version: 4.0.7

ScamWaste of time. Everything is locked. Promotes as free but you have to keep paying to unlock everything. Apps like this should be banned. Do yourself a favour and skip this rubbish..Version: 3.3.2

Could be good but...It’s just another subscription based app with one free exercise and the rest of the app is locked. You would figure if these apps really wanted to help people, they would offer more than one free exercise. 👎🏼 All these stretches can be found online for free. Don’t waste your money..Version: 4.0.9

TerribleThis app looks great….but you get nothing with out paying $$$$$.Version: 3.2.9

ReviewThey rlly need to have options I want to feel my best but I don’t have money to spare.Version: 4.0.6

First timeMikes trying to get stronger.Version: 4.1.1

Really disappointedThe app offers a trial only for one routine for stretching. It has several movements and timers that gets you through the routine. It looks well made and suggests a more in depth experience for the rest of the app. Once you buy the full app membership, the routines are small with 4-7 movements at best and a simple 1 or 2-minute timer for each movement and that's it. Very basic. There are 2 dozen routines at most in the entire membership with very little progression. Some of the movements you see in the free morning routine are not even used in the rest of the app as far as I've seen. It feels unfinished and not worth 80$ for a year with so little to offer. If I needed a timer I could have used a free one and alternate between my stretches but I thought I was getting movement routines with much more variation and choices to choose from. I mostly got it for my tight hips and the routine I looked at (Hips 1 I think) has 4 stretches only. I asked Apple for a refund after seeing the extent of the app and I was refused. I appealed with my explanation and still they denied me. Really disappointing given that I don't often buy subscriptions or apps at all or ask for refunds. I wrote to the developer to ask for a refund but they didn't answer me. All in all makes me rethink on looking at any purchase on the store if there is no more purchase protection applied by Apple..Version: 4.1.2

Great interface but needs improvementI love using this app, the UI is clean and easy to but when I create my own routine, all of the stretches available are not shown. Not sure why that is.. Other routines have the stretches shown, but the create your own routine doesn’t have the full library?.Version: 3.3.6

Subscription model and little instructionHow about short video explaining the exercises one little cartoon graphic does not give a good idea.Version: 4.0.4

No trial. You have yo pay for a year up frontThis app looks perfect for me, but I’m not going to buy for 1 year before I try. If they offered even a 1 week trial you could at least see what the app does before selling out your hard earned cash. I have a set of stretches I do every day, but still suffer. I can’t guess how this app might help me as I already know most stretches out there, and have several injuries the app might not take into account and make it worse..Version: 4.1.0

No trial periodThe price is ridiculously high, and what you get for free is not useful. There is not a trial period to try the useful stretch routines. Imo it’s not worth downloading.Version: 3.1.5

Music?I just trialled the free morning stretches and found it too boring without any music or inspiration from someone talking you through the bends so will stick to my yoga app.Version: 4.0.7

Not much improvement over a bookThe illustrations are good and the instructions reasonably clear, however, there is no guidance regarding where I should feel a particular stretch, so it’s difficult to dial the pose in to a specific area. At £25 p/year it’s overpriced for a series of static illustrations and a timer. It should be a one-off payment. I don’t see anything to warrant an annual sub with this app..Version: 4.1.0

Voice prompts would be helpfulAnnual subscription of £26 is reasonable. I would not pay more than that. I just think it would be very helpful to have a voice announcement about what stretch is coming next. I can’t move through stretches easily if I have to stop and look at next exercise. It makes it hard to concentrate on form.Version: 4.0.4

Free app notThis app has free download that’s the only thing that’s free. Please do not put that something is free when it’s clearly not.Version: 4.0.4

Bons exercices mais…Les exercices sont bien mais ça manque de variété. J’aimerais qu’il y ait plus de routines.Version: 4.0.0

Don’t waste your time.First off the app offers a free trial which I could not find access to. Perhaps this was because it’s currently running a 50% off yearly promo but still seems weird to subscribe to something without being able to try it. The free account gives you access to a wake-up routine but honestly this was enough to give me insight to pass. The app is a glorified catalogue of yoga poses and instructions. If you’ve never done yoga this is possibly the best way to get yourself injured. If you’ve done yoga you probably already know these poses so what are you paying for? Honestly there’s free content on the internet that’s easily found. Not only will you receive all the “information” in this app but also gain clarity as to how to do the pose and hopefully how to do it properly. The app looks nice and is a clean UX but I can’t see paying for it. Goodbye..Version: 4.1.0

No free trialCan’t access free trial - very frustrating indeed!.Version: 3.3.0

Who pays a subscription to track stretching? There is no reason to charge a subscription for an app to help track and teach stretching. Let people try the app for a week if they like it it’s $5.99. Not sure what has prompted all this subscription stuff but I’m not buying into it. Don’t come back at Me with the “But We keep it updated and working on new equipment”! If Your making a useful app then people will buy it again to update it or even to add it to a new device. We all know what the subscription garbage is, it’s income You hope people over look and pay even if they don’t even use it anymore..Version: 4.1.0

Good but needs work at $80 a year.Good timer and stretch selection. However for the money I expected to be able to edit my custom routines. I also would have liked to be able to edit my target areas. App is not finished. If I had a free trial as opposed to free limited access I would not have bought it..Version: 4.0.3

Only icons with stretching positionsNo animations of stretches, no background music…...Version: 4.0.7

Asked me to review before I’d used the app....Version: 4.0.9

UselessI totally regret downloading this app. After spending a few minutes, setting it up, none of what I put in the settings was made available to me, unless I started paying immediately. What’s the point of a so-called free trial when the only thing available in that free trial is some thing I’m completely not interested in. If you truly believed in your product, you’d let people try it out for a realistic period of time in order to fall in love with it and be willing to pay for some thing of Quality..Version: 4.0.4

Getting going again with routineHaving M Sclerosis has curtailed my once extensive ability to stretch and exercise. Even after physio exercises I don’t always uphold the necessary Warmups. But this app is good wake up and reminder. ..I adapt to what o Can do and can’t always Hold positions! So many other muscle groups in my neck n head got a shock after just holding my arms forward whilst sitting in a chair…! I take my time and want to do two lots of 15 secs but hard to control the clock😊🙄 it’s going to work for me bit by bit. ..getting better. Makes me focus 🙏🏻👍👍☀️🕊🍃.Version: 4.0.3

ScamOne of those scam apps that is free to download and hits you up for cash before you start using it..Version: 3.2.6

Great stretchingI.Version: 4.1.1

Good for Paying CustomersIf you are willing to pay around $38 yearly or $6.49/month for an effective and sustainable stretching regimen, then this app is for you. Otherwise, scroll along. The quality of the stretches and the layout of the platform is actually really high quality. However, with regards to access for non-paying users, you don’t get to use any stretches other than the 5-minute “Wake Up” Stretch. Sadly, even that is limited to the length of a 7-day free trial. After that point, either you pay or you might as well delete the app, because without access to any stretches, it virtually useless..Version: 4.0.2

Trial onlyA bit expensive considering the benefits it’s all feee on you tube.Version: 4.0.3

No free trailYou have to buy it right away, can’t even try to see if you like it..Version: 3.4.0

Subscription before you check it out.You can’t view anything until you sign up. App didn’t ask for any disabilities or any problem areas..Version: 3.2.9

Great AppIt is easy to follow, takes only a few minutes each day. Has all the stretches I need. Thank you..Version: 3.3.1

App won’t openJust paid sub and app won’t open up! What is wrong?.Version: 3.2.7

Needs WorkI started with my first stretch on this and didn’t even get to the second one before I canceled the subscription. First off, the timer starts and you don’t even know what you’re supposed to do yet. You have to pause the timer, click on the exercise to read the description, and then start back the timer from the beginning. Instead of making us read the descriptions, it would be better if there was a person on a video showing you as you go into one exercise to the next. There’s an exercise app called JustFit that does this and it’s great. No stopping to read, and flowing right into the next exercise. I really was looking forward to using this but it needs more work..Version: 4.1.1

Tout est payantIl n’y a que le téléchargement qui est gratuit, ensuite aucun accès !.Version: 4.1.0

Still won't be buyingThe Bend developers have been in touch with me since my review apologising and explaining how it should have been presented. I was invited at the end to resubmit my review. I cannot in all honesty put it at a 3 or higher because that would reflect 50 per cent or higher satisfaction, when I don't wish to use the product. But in recognition that there has been a lot of work by a lot of people to develop this app, I am raising it by a star. I hope everyone else benefits, but I'm still out. Thank you..Version: 4.0.8

I watch version is terribleFor a paid app I was expecting more. My watch is my fitness coach, but in order to use this app you have to lug your phone around. The app can't or doean’t sync well with the countdown clock between the watch and phone. Nice interface but the app needs to fix the bugs..Version: 4.0.3

Not even one sampleI wanted to use this app but not even one is free. How do I know if I like it without any sample. That’s pretty cheap..Version: 3.2.8

Nice but way too expensive.Nice but way too expensive..Version: 4.1.1

StretchEasy to follow, well designed but disappointed that there is only one free 5 minute sequence and everything else has to be paid for on subscription.Version: 3.3.5

Disingenuously expensive and False advertising! As usual another app that takes you through a spiel about being committed to our health and that theory mission is to improve our health…. Then to find it’s very expensive for what it actually is…. So obviously that is not their commitment at all….. what they are committed to is making money…. Fact. Even the download page doesn’t indicate in-app purchases! So even false advertising is not beyond the developers of this app! If developers cannot be honest and genuine then it’s ridiculous to buy their products. I know you will try to defend this app, just as you have done with every other poor review… but you are trying to defend the indefensible…. And no I will not change this review…. It’s an honest reflection of your app..Version: 4.0.9

Wasn’t able to try all areasSo this app offered the 7 day trial and I have to say I did enjoy the morning stretch. However, I’m not able to say I liked any of the other stretches as the trial wouldn’t let me access them. In order to try the full body or sleep, which I truly was interested in, I would have to buy full access. So if I buy the full access and then don’t like the other stretches, it’s a waste of money. When offering a trial of a product, offer access to all the areas so your customers can make an educated decision on their purchase. Very disappointing!.Version: 4.0.4

Costs money!!Everything costs money except one stretch routine! I was so excited to download this but now I’m deleting it because I don’t want to pay :(.Version: 4.1.2

Really CrossThis was advertised as being free. Got through a few pages before being asked to rate it when all it had done was to ask how best I wanted to use it (ie, nothing yet to educate me). I declined to review! A few pages later and the subscription appeal comes up. I have deleted the app. I don’t mind using an app where payment is involved, but you need to say so before wasting the user’s time. Lying by saying it’s free to lure us in just makes me angry and makes me wonder what else you’re not disclosing. If it’s £10 a month, I’ll weigh that up and choose as I download, but you MUST be upfront with the customer!.Version: 4.0.7

Requires subscriptionIt looks like it might be an ok app but since you need to purchase a subscription to access anything more than the initial “5 min wake up” stretches I can’t really tell..Version: 4.0.3

Stay away from this appThis app has so many problems, I don’t no where to begin. I downloaded the app because I wanted to try it, but was unable to launch without paying for what turned out to be a deeply overpriced one-year subscription. Using the app: I was disappointed by almost every aspect of the app from the paltry number of stretches, the absence of videos showing how to perform the stretches, to an inability to initiate the stretching session on my Apple Watch, which was why I downloaded the app in the first place. I return to the App Store to seek support. Clicking the support option led only to the terms and conditions. I would like a refund..Version: 4.0.4

Not badUnless you have money for a premium subscription there’s not much to get out of the app. Mainly just some basic stretches for 5 minutes on the app for free that you can for sure find on a YouTube yoga video for free and for longer and would take up less space on your phone. Good app, but if you’re not really willing to make the investment just for a bunch of stretches then I would recommend take the free route and just go on YouTube instead. App design and concept isn’t bad though.Version: 3.4.0

This App is nothing more than a money grabI tried this app with a view to get in shape and as soon as I downloaded it the app said my trial is up I need to pay. I couldn’t do any exercises and there was no help available. A total waste of my time!.Version: 4.1.2

Loved App, Got Pregnant.. and NO options for meI really enjoyed using this app initially, and was starting to see some progress in flexibility and feeling better. Then I found out I was pregnant, and realized I should only be doing certain types of stretching/yoga, and there is no where in this app that has options for pregnancy. Lots require being on your stomach, or being on your back. All no nos at a certain point in pregnancy. Developers, please do your research and add in some routines for moms to be! I am disappointed I won’t be able to use your app through pregnancy..Version: 4.0.4

DisappointedNot what it shows on ads disappointed..Version: 4.0.4

Need to pay for itOne 5 minute routine is free. You need to pay to access any other routines..Version: 3.3.0

Great app, but really needs a few tweaks / tech updates. This is an outstanding app with loads a terrific stretch routines and options for customizing routines. Users can set reminders and create stretch routines the meet their specific needs for various purposes and times of day. The main problem I have is that it doesn’t allow for stats to be tracked across multiple devices. The creators seem to think that we’re always going to use one device, so when I switch between three devices (iPhone, iPad Mini and full iPad - different locations, including travel, home and office) my stats reset. I’ve had lots of “1-Day” streaks, even without missing a day for weeks. Bad for an app that has a stated purpose of building consistency through motivation and ease of use. A second minor issue is that the app only allows one daily reminder. Again, the design doesn’t match the goal of getting users to stretch often, for various reasons. Finally, the screen won’t rotate, making an iPad with attached keyboard or stand awkward, unless you don’t have problems visually translating a 90-degree rotation while stretching. All this said, it’s better than most apps I’ve seen..Version: 4.0.0

Landscape modeCan’t turn your app in landscape mode. Why?.Version: 4.0.3
