Proton Calendar: Secure Events for Negative User Reviews

Still an MVPIt’s a decent simple calendar but the lack of features at the moment doesn’t make it a viable daily calendar. Really looking forward to a more fleshed out version because I’d love to switch to using it as my main calendar. I would love to have an iOS widget display of the events for the day, and a way to manage invitees on events..Version: 2.0.5

Can’t even sign inThere is no keyboard in the mailbox password screen, so I can’t even sign in! The support response was even more disappointing: “We are aware of the issue…However please note that at this time we cannot speculate when exactly this would be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.” I was excited to upgrade to proton unlimited when this app came out. Should have just stayed on my old mail-only plan. This looks very bad and I’ll make sure to mention it to any friends or coworkers who may be interested in the app and overall service..Version: 2.1.0

Basic but a startThe app has a clean interface but is limited in offerings relative to other calendar apps like Calendars by Readdle and Fantastical at this time - natural language processing would be great as well as week views (with visibility of blocks rather than lists alone) and widgets.Version: 2.0.2

Weak calendarThe iPad version is the same size as the phone version and so frustrating to use on an iPad. In addition a weekly view is required. Apple Calendar has Proton Calendar beat every which way from Sunday..Version: 2.7.0

Not so greatBasic features, events are not showing any notifications on iOS 16.1 so it’s not really helpful..Version: 2.0.1

Not many featuresI downloaded the app, but it doesn’t have the ability to show you a week at a time. There is one view/perspective. It’s very limited. Perhaps the creators should add more features so there is a better chance to compete with other apps. I’d prefer proton, but this is not it! I deleted it..Version: 2.0.2

Lack of monthly view disappointingAfter a long development period, the app has finally released, and as expected is nice and stable. Unfortunately the feature set is quite spartan compared to something like Google or Outlook calendar and is missing what I consider to be basic functionality like a monthly view. Being able to see a thumbnail view of upcoming events is crucial, so it is unfortunate it is lacking compared to competing apps. Hopefully in the future they will add more to create feature parity with the alternatives, for now I will unfortunately have to stick with Outlook for it’s superior UI and customization options..Version: 2.0.0

Where is the iPad version ?Where is the iPad version ?.Version: 2.7.0

BeginningsDesign-wise, it’s a bit…utilitarian. Also, no Apple sync makes it feel as if I’ve just been born! I’m glad it’s here though. Excelsior, as Stan Lee used to say!.Version: 2.0.2

Invite Attendees/Participants is a basic function missingI love Proton and the principles they stand on. But please allow us to invite participants within the app, like this is a basic calendar function. I get it needs access to phone contacts but the proton mail app for iOS has this function so I’m not sure why calendar doesn’t yet..Version: 2.7.0

Very BasicMany features not available. A very basic calendar that is not worth using. Expectations in available functions are a lot higher in today’s world..Version: 2.0.2

Pretty weak attemptThis is pretty pathetic. I’m paying for the whole proton suite and I love the privacy proton offers, but this calendar app is laughably bad. I can’t invite others to calendar events through the app, I can’t click on hyperlinks, for a zoom invitation for example, and no one else can see the events I create through this app even if they’ve been invited to view my calendar. Every free calendar out there has mastered all these basic tasks, but I’m paying a premium for this joke? Put out an update and fix this mess already!!! Don’t embarrass yourself and tell me you aren’t aware of these issues. I’m just wondering why you’d put out an app well before it’s ready for prime time..Version: 2.0.2

Been using a few monthsI’ve been using proton for about a month and weaning myself off Google. So for the time being I’m trying hard to overlook many of the lack of convenience items that come with going with a non big dawg in the calendar space. In general the app does what I need it to do and it’s encrypted so that’s why I’m continuing to use it. Here are the three big features that are missing: 1) I cannot add events from proton mail into proton calendar. This is super annoying and sometimes I go to my laptop just so do this in bulk before I delete emails, or I manually add it on my phone. 2) I cannot add participants in the app. Similarly now I often have to go sit down at my computer to add participants to an event. 3) this is more nitpicky but I find it cumbersome to have to scroll through 60min when setting a time for an event. Almost all of my events are at x:00 or x:30, occasionally at x:15 or x:45. It is actually too much to have to swipe multiple time to change a start time from x:00 to x:30. If a user needs to set it to something weird like x:37 they can type it and the scroll wheel should just have round numbers in it. Otherwise the value prop of encryption, in addition to knowing this is a growing and developing product is keeping me here and I assume some of these will be resolved over time. Small thing - I like the logo-ing and the purple:)..Version: 2.7.0

Unable to send invitesI am unable to send invites to email addresses which defeats the purpose of a calendar app. Can someone confirm if i am the only one facing the issue? Thanks.Version: 2.4.0

Another disasterYou can't take proton products seriously. this is a visual nightmare. hate that you are forced to look at months at a time and it won't hold between. and even if it did, what month are we on. no visual distinction between months. stretching a month along a full phone screen looks weird. is there anyone with taste at proton? and here we go again, the new update 2023 Dec 11th, and no longer able to sign in. great(!). the biggest mistake i made in 2023 was signing up for 2 years of this slop..Version: 2.7.0

Missing travel timeBottom line I won’t use this calendar app because it lacks the notion of ‘travel time’ to an appointment seen in other calendar apps. I have to add travel time manually as a separate appointment, that’s going to get tedious very quickly. There are so many calendar apps to choose from I’m trying this because I use other Proton products because I like the idea of open source secure apps, besides that Proton apps are just average, nothing to set them apart for others, in fact I’d say they are still immature and lack some of the useful little things other similar apps have..Version: 2.5.0

It took forever for an app and it’s very okishI know dev constraints are an issue. However for the time it took to have this released it’s really frustrating to have such a basic app. I am a long time paying user of proton, and can tell calendar is not up to the same standards as mail, unfortunately 😢.Version: 2.0.2

Lacking basic featuresMy goal is to remove as much of my personal content from Google as possible into a secure, encrypted space. The reality is that everyone else uses Google including friends and organizations that I work with. As of October 2023, this app doesn’t help me achieve that goal. First, you can’t invite people to a meeting from the app nor does it have a search feature. Both of these are basic requirements for a calendar app. I would also like to see locations populate with addresses and names of businesses. That’s a great feature. Most importantly, for this privacy focused calendar to work properly the developers should examine the experience of working in proton alongside others who are using Google. That’s the reality. That’s what we need. If I want to share my calendar with someone in Google ideally I could select the data elements I want to share. Maybe free/busy plus the name of the thing or the location. That would be a great feature - A customizable sharing link that only provides the data you select. Finally, tighter coupling among the mail and contacts apps and the ability to get proton contacts into my phone would be great. Thanks for creating proton. I would love to help speed up the delivery of features and experience improvements if there’s anything I can do. The speed of your development is currently the limiting factor on my ability to achieve my goal of decoupling from Google..Version: 2.6.1

It’s good, I’m just waiting for it to be better.I love proton, I’ve found it’s a great replacement especially with having unlimited and using mail etc. but the calendar is slacking, I’d love a native iPad app, the ability to have widgets, more streamline things such as easy way to add national holidays, as for the uk it’s harder than US. For those wanting to move away from google or Microsoft, the calendar is the hardest. Overall it good and I’m excited for the new changes in the upcoming years.Version: 2.0.5

SearchI enjoy all proton products but this app needs a search function hard to find things otherwise it’s a good app..Version: 2.3.0

Okay But Not GreatApp works okay for the basic usages, but the UI is not great (setting something to start at say 8pm and end at midnight is a fun exercise in accidentally changing the end date) and it lacks basic features like inviting people to events you create (through the iOS app anyways, desktop site allows this). It’s a bummer bc I really like the email app and want the overall product family to succeed, but I can’t say that I’d recommend this to someone looking for a calendar tool..Version: 2.6.0

Pleeeaaassse - Search function!I think these needs to be at the top of the list!.Version: 2.5.0

So-so.Can’t seem to change the time zone which means reminders do not coome at the right time. Do you need to pay for a subscription for this tiny fix? Simple layout. Limited view options. But I use Proton Mail so I am happy that there is a calendar too..Version: 2.4.0

Pretty but worthlessI had high hopes for this app. The interface looks nice, but it’s seriously lacking in features and functionality. Tried to use it with ical and it took nearly an hour to sync the first time. After that, it wouldn’t sync. Maybe it would have eventually, but I waited several hours and nothing. To be useful, I need a sync to happen within 30 minutes tops and preferably within minutes. This may be useful for someone using this as their only calendar, but for me it does nothin more than take up space. Hopefully it will get better with updates, but for now it’s a non starter for me..Version: 2.7.0

Great! Just needs an iPad formatted versionThis is a great service and good application. I like that the app is a nice companion to my Protonmail (which I think is very well worth the cost). Please make a version formatted for iPad. I use my iPad a lot in the field and would love to be able enter calendar details on my iPad. Thank you! UPDATE: The Proton Team reached out and acknowledged my request and forwarded my request to the development team for review. Thank you Proton Team!.Version: 2.5.0

App has very slow loading, almost unusableI use the entire Proton suite of products and migrated from Google Calendar, but the iOS app is INCREDIBLY slow to load to the point of being unusable. It takes several minutes just to load the app, and several more minutes to view any events or scroll to other views ie daily, weekly, monthly etc. The web app loads quickly, but it also does not load some changes or additions to other integrated/linked Google calendar events, also to the point of being unusable. Sounds like more server & processing capacity is needed to make this app load quickly and to be useful for productivity..Version: 2.0.2

Love proton! but it’s a bit too basicI want to switch fully to this calendar, but it made my phone super hot while adding my scheduled items; I only have about 7 right now. My phone is not plugged in for charging, it’s the newest iPhone and running up to date software yet this app just heated up my phone like I’m FaceTiming inside a sauna. There is no reason a calendar app should be using enough power to cause that. Otherwise it’s a great app, 2 suggestions to make it more user friendly: - add national/international holidays - add color options for the little dot on the calendar indicating a scheduled item. Right now it’s just a green dot, but if I have multiple things scheduled I’d like to make more important items a different color; for example I’d make doctor appointments pink dots, school reminders blue, errands green… this way looking at my schedule I’d know immediately by the color dot if I could easily change plans for something that comes up or if I should see what other options are available because I see I have something less flexible that day. Not having to click on each day to see what I’m doing and have a general idea just looking at the month view would be much more convenient. Thanks Proton team! We need more functional apps with proper privacy!.Version: 2.0.2

Promising but not quite thereDownloaded this because I love Protonmail and wanted to start tracking everything i do in a day for research purposes. There are a few features that are lacking in order for this to be convenient through Proton Calendar. First, I wish there was a way to change your settings to where certain features were automatic until changed. For instance, I wish I could change it to automatically NOT notify me of things on my calendar unless I specify otherwise. Also, you cant just say "this event happened at 6:30 am".... you HAVE to choose a duration for the event. That in itself makes the app worthless for what i wanted to use it for. I also wish the calendar was just integrated into the mail app instead of being separate..Version: 2.7.0

No ability to share calendar invites from the app.Good interface, shows promise, but the inability to share calendar events makes it useless (practically speaking) if you’re using Proton for business, much less for personal use cases. This functionality is however available through a desktop browser, which is a workaround if you can’t migrate to another service. A similar service (from Tutanota) offers the ability to add in-app invitees to calendar events..Version: 2.4.0

Good but not greatGood app and excellent focus on privacy. However, the ability to search events is missing and therefore this app is not really an option for me..Version: 2.0.1

Needs more optionI enjoy the privacy Proton offers so a constructive review. The app feels it's lacking settings to configure how you'd like to personalise the calendar/screen. For example changing colours for items you add to your calender, enabling the calender to utilise the entire screen not just half & changing the start day of the week are just a few I can think off the top of my head. I want to fully transition away from google calender but can't at the moment as some features are still lacking..Version: 2.0.3

Want to like the calendarI am an avid user of Apple calendar. I love the proton brand however, I feel this application is not quite ready for me to use it as a full replacement for my current set up. Here’s a couple of things to point out: 1. Crashes when you try to set up more than one notification. 2. There is no function for adding invitations. I would at least be able to add an invite, where would email them the ICS file is not possible..Version: 2.4.0

Very simple, works wellPlease please add a “view by week” feature!.Version: 2.2.0

Email remindersI switch to this from Google a year ago and I’m finally going back. I’ve made suggestions many times to developers but there’s been no improvements. All the other reviews list the same issues over and over. The options on the app are just very limited and make it impossible to use long term. One of the most idiotic things is the email reminder. It’s an email with a link to open Proton Calendar but it doesn’t even open the app. It opens in the browser. First of all the emails should just tell you what the event is not force you to open the calendar especially not the web calendar..Version: 2.5.0

No native iPad supportThe barebones aspect of the initial release is a bit of a handicap…I can deal with that for now since I only *look* at calendars from my phone. I prefer to do all my calendar creation and editing from a device with physical keyboard…so a desktop or a docked tablet. Unfortunately, the editing will have to remain a desktop-only thing for now since this release doesn’t support iPad. On iPad it simply scales down and portrait-izes the app onto a small barely usable slice of the ipad screen..Version: 2.0.0

No widget! No widget which makes it a pain to see upcoming events. Have you seen apples calendar widget options. They are amazingly useful. Also why does my calendar need to be encrypted online? Wouldn’t it be more secure to stay on my iPhone then it wouldn’t require encryption? Plus it isn’t locked with faceID And it can’t even add an event from proton mail to proton calendar. It’s such a poor usability experience..Version: 2.7.0

Missing functionLike many people (I guess) the main attraction to switching to this calendar would be the ability to import existing calendars in order not to lose information by switching systems. As it stands this is like forgetting everything before the date you start using this calendar :-/.Version: 2.0.2

UnusableThis is a very basic implementation of a calendar for iOS. Editing or changing invites are a pain and you’d have to do them in a web browser rather than in the app. Syncing is unreliable..Version: 2.6.0

Not there yetI really wanted it to be good. I already use several proton products so I’ve been waiting for the calendar to come out on iOS. There doesn’t seem to be an easy way to import existing calendars. The free version has one calendar available for use and it’s not usable to properly test the product as a daily driver. I’m happy to pay for privacy, but the product needs more work to be competitive with alternatives..Version: 2.0.2

Great to finally have an iOS app…But there’s some really fundamental features missing. Not being able to edit events within the app (or even change times) seems like an oversight even on first release. Will stick with it, but hoping for some rapid usability upgrades in Q1 2023..Version: 2.0.1

No weekly viewUnfortunately this is a key feature for me that’s still missing in the app. I won’t use a calendar app if it doesn’t have a weekly view feature - I’m disappointed this still isn’t implemented :/.Version: 2.6.1

I look forward to the future of Proton Calendar…… but it’s not there yet. The app has some of what you’d expect (multiple calendars, reminders, sharing) but only works on phone (I’d want synced apps on phone, iPad and Mac) and no task list integration. (Been searching for a task list that integrates with a calendar for time-blocking and gives day/week/month views. Proton would be my first choice for this if they had it! I’m done with privacy-invasion and data-scraping apps. Come on Proton, we need you)..Version: 2.5.0

Better Than Having to Login to WebsiteI am looking forward to using once the calendar becomes a bit more robust. I'd like to have it for iPadOS far more than iOS, I would like to create separate calendars and have ability to share with non-Proton users, would like to have drive-time implemented, have ability to import calendar events from various apps, have multiple alarms, and addresses populate as they are entered. Some of these may be already in app, I just downloaded it on my iPad and came to AppStore looking for iPad version. Looking forward to t regular improvements..Version: 2.0.2

Getting BetterI’ve been a paid Proton user for many years and have been anxiously awaiting a calendar so I can fully break the Google shackles. The user interface is still pretty clunky. Adding an event should be a few clicks and done; including a click-and-drag-on-the-time-block event creation, quick and easy time entry, etc. These feature are lacking. I’ve been using Calendar5 forever and they have perfected the process, so I guess I’m spoiled. The number one feature still missing is the ability for me to share a calendar with my wife and allow her 100% edit/delete/add capability. The web app allows this, but the app doesn’t seem to..Version: 2.3.0

Does not work on ipadApp completely unusable on ipad..Version: 2.5.0

Some way to goI’m a long time supporter of proton and the privacy they prioritise. Good to have a calendar app, but it has a long way to go before it’s as pretty or as functional as my favourite Fantastical. There’s a maximum of 5 subscribed calendars; custom views don’t exist - you can have ‘agenda’ or ‘day’ which barely differ, and that’s it. Hi res phone screens allow much more nowadays so it would be good to see proton offering full month and week views with details rather than little colour blobs..Version: 2.0.3

Making progressProton calendar has come a long way, especially the desktop/web version with sharing capability, displays, etc. It seems that that’s where most of the development has gone recently so the app has been lagging. Pretty simple interface, minimal settings and no widgets. Love the privacy, encryption/security and no linked data by Proton. Hoping some more features come on line for the app such as calendar sharing, widgets and calendar editing like we can do on the website. Thx Proton.Version: 2.3.0

Sorely lacking but so much potentialI love the sleekness of the app but it has very little to offer. The settings and options are basically that there are none in the app compared to the website version. Being able to control those in the app would be a massive improvement. I would also like to see a search feature to find content more easily. Another thing that would increase the app’s productivity potential is an agenda view that shows all upcoming events similar to Apple Lists. Recurring events show the next in line. This is extremely useful for managing financial dates/tasks. Maybe make an option to set tasks that can be checked off. But at least an agenda view that show more than one day. Lists has been really great that way and I would love to replace it with this. Fix those and this app will be as amazing as Proton Mail has been..Version: 2.1.0

Leaves much to be desired1. No iPad support 2. No monthly/weekly view 3. No CalDAV support.Version: 2.0.2

REALLY need an iPad versionI’ve been using this awhile on my phone and it works well. It’s not the most feature rich yet but it’s getting there and does what I need it to do securely. I would greatly appreciate it if you would release a proper IPad OS version. I’m amazed in 2023 that apps are as basic as a calendar are still released in emulation mode only (small phone display on ipads). Looking forward to seeing this improve!.Version: 2.3.0

Need an iPad calendar versionIt seems the calendar that the iPad can receive is for the iPhone. I received an email from proton today discussing calendar sharing…looks like an iPad like image, but not on the App Store. Thanks.Version: 2.2.0

Missing shared calendarsLooks promising and I keep fingers crossed for future development. For now we’re missing shared calendars which are essential to organise things in our family and work hence it’s not usable yet. Thanks.Version: 2.7.0

Lacks many modern features. Way too basicPlease take inspiration from some of the basic functionality Google Calendar offers. At the bare minimum I need a weekly view. Daily and monthly won’t cut it :(.Version: 2.6.1

No offline modeA little on the side of basic but usable. Main issues are no offline mode, no iPad version, and no widgets. Notifications are not reliable..Version: 2.7.0

Incredible company, pointless appThe calendar app is little more than a calendar viewer. To use Proton Calendar app on your iPhone requires you run an instance of it in the web browser if you want anything more than viewing your events. You still have to schedule from the web version. No quality integration with the email app. I rate Proton 5 stars as a company and am a paying subscriber. Unfortunately, I could not use Proton for my business as its productivity tools are incomplete and do not support non-web true functionality. I hope I get to up this rating to 5 stars one day, however, Proton has been unable to make any significant improvements to the calendar app. TestFlight version doesn’t provide anything special to test. 👎👎 Two thumbs down, unfortunately..Version: 2.7.0

Please redesign the monthly calendar view on iPhone to show more infoI love how all of protons apps are so privacy oriented but I can’t use your calendar app b/c the monthly view does not show any information other than the dots to indicate a scheduled event. Please redesign the monthly view to show a brief snippet of the daily event. Being able to see a whole month at a glance is such a time saver. I am currently using Google Calendar because b/c of this reason but I would switch in a heartbeat if I had a better alternative. Thanks for your time. Also, are there any plans to add a calendar widget to iOS in the near future? It would be very convenient to view my tasks without having to always open up the app. Thanks..Version: 2.4.0

Needs help before it’s usableThis app is missing to main features that make it unusable for me: Edit a reoccurring meeting and invite others to a meeting event. The use case: I use my protonmail account for my business and want to use the calendar app for a single reoccurring meeting with a client. I set the meeting up on my desktop through the browser, added a brave talk link, invited the client, and set it to repeat monthly. Often the client and I email ahead of this meeting to confirm if that time still works for us, we may shift it out a week or a few days. I cannot accomplish this on my phone with the reoccurring event. I can set up a new meeting that is standalone but I’m not able to invite the client to the new event, and i am unable to cancel the single event of the recurring meeting so we both see it’s canceled..Version: 2.6.0

Just a Gmail Calendar overlayThis appears to be a Gmail calendar overlay. Downloaded it and it pulled all my Gmail calendar into it. I don’t want that. I want a private and encrypted calendar, that’s what I pay Proton for! Input an event into the calendar and all it does is update Gmail’s calendar. Weak. Fail. Joke..Version: 2.0.2

Good start, hoping for regular improvementsPleased that the iOS calendar app is here! It’s looks great & does the job. There is definitely room for improvement - small refinements like providing UI feedback when you’re swiping between days so you can see what’s going on. I’d also like to see calendar events displayed in a month view to get a sense of what I have coming up without having to select individual days (for me, it’s the most useful view in the Readdle Calendars app). Look forward to future releases..Version: 2.0.1

Great foundation yet lacking in a lot of areasPlease display the date or give the option to in the app icon. I also can't add appointments automatically from other apps to Proton Calendar or set it as my primary..Version: 2.2.0

Needs workAbout as bare-bones as you can get and still be called a calendar app. Pretty disappointing. On top of that, I'm one of the unlucky few for whom notifications don't work (and, yes, I've done the troubleshooting and made sure everything in Settings is correct). I've gone back to the web calendar for now. Since I'm not getting notifications anyway, Proton Calendar via Safari is superior. I love Proton overall and have been pretty quick to migrate whatever I can to the platform. Their security and web UIs are fantastic. But it's been apparent for some time that their app development needs a serious overhaul..Version: 2.0.0

Why bother?Waste of money. Can’t see that it does anything that the Apple Calendar doesn’t already do..Version: 2.0.2

Keep crashingLove the company, enjoy the app but lately it keeps crashing so it’s unusable. I have the latest OS and the latest iPhone model so not sure why it’s happening..Version: 2.0.4

Icon ViewPlease change the app Icon view to Day and Date as per iPhone calendar app. Ty.Version: 2.6.1

Love it!I’ve been a proton mail user for years and am looking forward to the day i can fully ditch the google suite of apps. The only reason I’m rating three stars is because of the inability to import events (or link an existing calendar account), along with some other quality-of-life features that icloud calendar and google calendar have already for example..Version: 2.0.2

No iPad AppFor some reason, Proton Developers do not think people would use a calendar app on their iPad. With that line of thinking, why did they even bother making the ProtonMail or ProtonDrive apps for the iPad..Version: 2.0.3

Proton’s black sheepI use all of Proton’s other products and they’re all excellent but Calendar feels a majorly neglected compared to the rest. The black sheep of the Proton family of products..Version: 2.5.0

I want to love it, butI really want to love it, but so far I am just limping along with it hoping more features will be added. There are many features that “other” calendar has that are incredibly useful. Being able to search the calendar events/entries, being able to view more than one month (my other app allows zooming in or out to any desired level-view the full year, one, two, or three months, etc.). It would be great to have a place to share suggestions in hopes that they will be considered for implementation in future versions. I will happily update my review if my experience changes..Version: 2.0.4

No iPad app 😔As the title says, not designed for iPad,bit bizarre considering every other Proton app has been designed with an iPad version 🤔.Version: 2.5.0

I Want To Love ProtonI have been a paid member of Proton for 5 years. I have tried to be patient with their products as I know implementing the type of privacy and security Proton offers is difficult. I don’t expect all the features and consistency of the big tech alternatives. I just want to be able to edit repeating shared events. I pay for the family plan and it should be fairly straightforward for me to be able to share repeating events with my family members and be able to edit a specific event in the sequence, or the whole event with people also using Proton. I can understand sharing and editing an event with someone using Google Calendar not being easy to implement or a top priority, but if I can’t modify shared events to people within my own plan then Calendar is completely useless and I’m just wasting my money..Version: 2.7.0

HaphazardThis is a good app by a good company that unfortunately releases new features before completing old ones. Trivial old ones no less; such as being able to edit the calendar an event falls under after it’s been entered on mobile. Use the Proton ecosystem but expect a future fraught with areas of incompleteness amidst a terribly slow and unfocused development cycle. Furthermore, for Proton to be OK with this. This makes the $100/year they charge for a paid account difficult to not experience buyers regret over..Version: 2.3.0

Without Search Functionality this App is DOATo create a calendar without basic search functionality is somewhat incomprehensible. How this was overlooked and not immediately implemented by the Proton Team from day one is beyond me. I love Proton products and use some of them exclusively (I’m a Visionary subscriber), but this product is not one of them. Adding a search feature would be a step in the right direction. Also, certain functionality is lacking. Take shared calendars for example. You can share a Proton calendar with another Proton user, but on the mobile app that user can’t edit a calendar entry or create an entry on the shared calendar. It works on the web-based calendar, but not mobile the app. Secondary issues would be allowing the calendar to download and store data on the local device instead of needing to load it each time you switch months or even days. Integrating Apple/Google maps into the GPS/Address function of the calendar, and creating an iPad version is also something much desired..Version: 2.5.0

Getting better but still needs workThe most annoying thing now is when you need to create an event for the next year you have to scroll through the date pick through every day. It would be way better to just be able to select the year and month then the date. Takes forever to get through the date picker..Version: 2.7.0

Finally! Secure calendar option!Love the fact the calendar app is out in the wild. Can’t wait to be able to change colours for each event and have the ability to see event description on the month view similar to google calendar (but without cashing in on my content). Thanks so much, once this app performs similarly to google calendar, I will be able to ditch gmail for good..Version: 2.0.2

Slow, buggyI want to love this app. I love ProtonMail, but the calendar app is super buggy and all around slow. One of my calendars never shows my scheduled events. I can see the calendar is selected, but nothing from it shows up in agenda or month view. It works fine in a browser. I have tried to remove it and re-add it but the problem persists. The app itself is slow, clicking on a day returns “fetching” for upwards of 5-10 seconds regardless of being on wifi or cellular. I’m hoping these issues will be fixed as time goes on..Version: 2.2.0

Doesn’t workWaited all this time and even had the beta version but it doesn’t work. It won’t allow for event creation and when you go to send a bug report that doesn’t work either. Waste of time..Version: 2.0.2

Why online? It seems to me that if I want a private calendar I want it entirely on my own device and nowhere else, certainly not online somewhere. It’s just for me so I have no need to share it. Maybe I’m missing something but that’s how I see it..Version: 2.3.0

Needs speed and tap featureI was excited when proton finally released this iOS app for the Calendar product. Overall, Proton Calendar is a good calendar application. I love using it on my laptop browser, but the iOS app still needs work. It is very very slow in creating events. Whenever I am finished putting in all the info, I have to wait there for another 20 seconds for it save and close the page. Waiting to do that is a big hindrance. It is not yet seamless in allowing me move onto the next thing. Also, a really handy feature would be tapping on the block of time in the day to create an event. Right now you have to click the plus sign, and then enter in all of the info. This makes using the app on the phone for my calendaring undesirable. I am considering switching back to google or Apple’s iCloud calendar..Version: 2.2.0

Promising but needs more featuresI need two things before this calendar can become my main agenda tool. (1) a month view that shows the events for all days, not just one day at a time. (2) ability to share calendars across multiple accounts, for a family or team. Google calendar for ios does both of these well. Would love to see proton offer a similar feature set..Version: 2.0.2

Basic for 2024Extremely basic calendar app for 2024. I know privacy is the companies core policy. But as a calendar app some widget or shortcut support is ideal for it to be a substation for the built in calendar app..Version: 2.7.0

I wish Collaboration worked within the AppNot being able to invite others for appointments/meetings is a basic feature for calendar apps. The app looks beautiful. I just wish that worked. Add that feature and the rating would be higher for me, frankly. Going to a browser as a work-around defeats the purpose of downloading the app in the first place. I wish I could rate it higher but I cannot until this issue has been addressed. The app has been out for 7 months and as a base feature still missing it makes the app feel abandoned. Thank you!.Version: 2.3.0

Syncing issueI’ve been waiting forever for this to be made available for my iPad because using the web is a pain in the rump, but this new app isn’t syncing changes made on other devices. Also, when making an item on it, it isn’t allowing me to invite someone to my event. I hope you fix this, or it becomes useless. You’d never know if what you’re seeing is up to date. No one wants to miss showing up for something important or show up for an event that is no longer….Version: 2.0.0
