Watch to 5K-Couch to 5km plan for Positive User Reviews

Great App! Responsive DeveloperThis is a well-executed app, and is exactly what I was looking for. I had a problem with the map route not showing in the Fitness app, but after a discussion wit the developer we got it all sorted out. Happy to support!.Version: 2.3.1

Convenient and easy to useI like the app in general. It’s very easy to use and set up, tracks all parameters well, good music app integration, and good apple fitness integration. My only dislikes are that it creates a separate “workout” in the apple fitness app for the warmup and cool down, and I wish the prompts to start walking/running were just a touch louder..Version: 2.3.0

It does what it says on the tinThe app is just what you need and nothing extra. It works and it isn’t a goofy subscription. It has helped get me back into running and I appreciate that..Version: 3.9.0

Excellent App/Great Value. This is what an app should be - useful function and easy to use. I can not recommend it highly enough. It has been invaluable for no nonsense getting into jogging again. The app takes the necessity for a phone away completely- a drawback of some other phone based jogging apps..Version: 3.0.0

Simple and awesomeWas looking for just this. Simple C25K that I could have on my watch. Nothing to carry. Just watch and headphones. Any plans to add GPS tracking for the runs?.Version: 1.0

Almost perfectI love the app, love the fact it’s not a subscription and love the fact it records HR and splits up the runs/walks in the fitness app. However… Adding an option to change Siri’s accent would be nice. It currently sounds a bit too robotic and can be a little hard to understand at times..Version: 3.2.0

Excellent appGreat app! Successfully getting back into running after not following a good program was causing me to keep injuring myself. Would love to see more apps for longer distances e.g. 10k..Version: 4.6.0

Great app but…I love the interface. Everything I need and nothing I don’t. Only two things kept me from rating 5 stars. I’d like to switch to miles permanently and I’d like to change the voice. Other than that, top notch!.Version: 4.0.0

Works exactly as advertisedCan listen to music with my AirPods, and leave my phone in the car. Beautifully made app, works every time without fail. Well done! Highly recommended..Version: 2.4

Great - but audio bug?The only (?) Couch to 5K app that lets you leave your phone behind - so major win there. I was previously using the NHS app and I must admit I miss the interaction that gave you. I’d like a _bit_ more encouragement than just ‘run now’ ‘you’ve just reached the halfway point’ and ‘that’s it, you’ve done it’ - I guess that’s a limitation of the size Apple allow for watch apps? One really annoying bug I find is that when the app does speak to you it dims the music level it doesn’t restore it to the right volume afterwards. It doesn’t happen every time but enough to be annoying..Version: 2.7.0

Awesome Watch appThere’s not that many Watch-first apps. This is one, and it works great. Has been improved over the years and now is flawless. Great work, dev..Version: 3.8.0

Great app!Just started today, so far so good. I love the voice assistance; no need to keep looking at watch. I couldn’t get the music to work though…but I don’t know if that is user error. Seriously, get this app!! I hope the developers continue and make a sequel..not having to carry your phone is amazing!.Version: 3.0.2

RequestBrilliant app, follows couch to 5k program. Does record it with activity app too but however does not include all the data? Am I missing something in my settings ? Usually when I record a run it includes the route and my cadence but can’t see this on runs with this app and cannot link with Strava . Thanks.Version: 2.0

This is the perfect C25K app!I used Zen labs c25k app for years but after taking a break from running I was gutted to find they had selected the pro app I’d paid for and forced me into a very expensive subscription model if I wanted to run with my watch only - which I do! But I’m grateful to them as it made me look around - and I found this perfect app! It is watch-only, no need to sync with my phone. The voice prompt is LOVELY, my data isn’t being creepily harvested, and I’ve paid a one off fee rather than having to deal with ads or be ripped off by a subscription. Also, and most importantly to me… I can READ the screen without needing my glasses! So well designed. Thank you Ben! You have made this jogger a happy lass indeed!.Version: 2.7.0

So gratefulI’ve never been a runner and I was skeptical that could ever change, but I just finished this 9 week program and am so proud to have been wrong. The pace is great, I love the Watch app, and it makes it easy to stick with it to the end..Version: 3.2.1

Brilliant appThis app is brilliant and so easy to use. You can simply walk out your front door, press start on your Apple Watch and the app does the rest. I found this app after being frustrated by having an expensive subscription to a well known couch to 5k app that was always a hassle to get to work on the watch (it usually didn’t). This app is so much better than all the others if you want to use your watch rather than taking your phone for couch to 5k runs..Version: 2.1

Great App but would like more customization optionsI love the app and the fact I don’t need my phone while running. However, I would like the option to increase the time allotted to run a 5K. I can’t complete it in 30 minutes and would like the option to add 5 to 10 extra minutes before the workout ends..Version: 3.5.0

Very user friendly! The app works great. It’s nice to be able to follow the Couch to 5K programme without needing to carry your phone. The app automatically logs workouts in the Apple app, provides easy access to your music and has a nice visual display and countdown of how many runs remain and the time to the next. The only disappointment is there is no coaching just limited voice prompts to run and walk. This is understandable for such a low price but it would be nice if some coaching could be added as a paid extra or the NHS coaching could be licensed..Version: 3.9.0

Love this app!I rarely write reviews for anything but had to for this app. I specifically wanted one to use on my Apple Watch so that I didn’t need to take my phone with me. This does that and more. It’s so simple to use and shows you a breakdown of the weeks ahead so you can see how your runs change over time and what to expect next time. I love that you can listen to and control your music from within the app. And I love the voice prompts that come through your headphones (if you’re using them) to tell you when to run, when to walk, when you’re halfway through (which is just fantastic) and when you’re done. If you don’t have headphones connected, there are nice little haptics to tell you when your time for each section is up and the screen has a little person showing you whether to walk or run. To top it off, at the end you get a breakdown of what you did on your run like how long you ran for etc. For the price, it’s so worth it. If you’re considering starting a couch to 5k, get this app..Version: 2.1.2

Safe way to slowly increase running timeThis app has helped me safely increase my endurance without getting plantar fasciitis (knock on wood!). Slow and steady increase. Highly recommend this very simple, clear app..Version: 3.3.0

Fantastic technical support to a great app!I love this app but had a problem after the 2.6.1 update. Contacted the online support and Ben helped me through the issue. He replied straight away to my emails and was thorough with explanations. Cannot recommend highly enough and 5/5 stars is well deserved.Version: 2.6.1

Great appThis app has been extremely helpful for me just getting into running for the first time. Highly recommend following the program. The new phone update is great, can’t wait to see what they grow it into..Version: 3.0.2

*updated* figured out the crash issue, now 5 starsFollowing up on my review from earlier this week, I found that when listening to music through the music app, the watch crashes when Watch to 5K enters the first run or exits the final run. This is also when the Watch to 5K music option begins and ends. Solved by listening to music through the Watch to 5K app only. Feature request: I would love to be able to listen to music during the warm-up and warm-down walks too..Version: 2.4

Great App, Missing One FeatureThe app is really well put together. I like that you can re-do runs and it still tracks your progress. It’s also simple on the Watch but you get good stats on the iPhone after. My only criticism is that as most of the weeks are a mix of walks/runs, I can’t check to see what my current pace is during an interval. It only shows the total pace over the entire workout. I’m trying to hit a certain pace and after I hit a walk I no longer know if I’m running fast enough until I check the intervals on the phone afterward. So I can’t adjust to speed up or slow down during the workout. Overall, though, the app is great and I recommend it..Version: 3.1.0

Everything you need and nothing you don’t!This app has everything you could possibly need to compete couch to 5K: voice prompts, music support, GPS tracking, data analysis, achievements, all while allowing you to run without needing your phone. It’s a polished little package to get you started on your running journey. For a small fee you get a brilliant little app and no adverts. If you are on the fence about which couch to 5k app to download, this is the one you should download!.Version: 3.2.0

Overall great watchI love love love that there’s a native Apple Watch C25K app. I’ve used 5k trainer apps on my iPhone for years, but this is by far the best. I can *actually* leave my phone at home. One thing I can’t quite figure out how to make the haptics when switching from running to walking (or vice versa) more prominent. The first workout session there were multiple taps before the timer started for the next interval, but my last two sessions have had just 1.5 taps to cue me to change my pace. Since I don’t use headphones when I run, I rely on the haptics heavily. I hate having to feel like I need to keep an eye on my watch so that I’m not missing an interval..Version: 2.8.0

Simple clean appI used this app to train to run 5km. I liked that I could go for a run without a phone. Nothing fancy here but the app does the job if you stick with it..Version: 3.7.0

Miss the motivational speakI’ve previously used the NHS app which was fantastic as is this app. The only thing I really miss is the NHS app gave you some motivational chat with telling you to keep going, you’re doing well and what I found really helpful was telling you how long you had left of a specific run which I found really helpful when I was finding it hard or tough going - it stopped me from giving up whereas the silence on this (even though I listen to music) is deafening and constantly makes me look to see how long I have left which can then be quite demoralising, whereas if the interaction was there it would provide me with some form of distraction..Version: 4.2.0

Great, Simple AppThis is exactly what I was looking for: a couch to 5k program where all I needed was my Apple watch and my AirPods. This is just that. Prompts you via your headphones when it’s time to walk or run and gives you an alert when you are half way through so you can turn back around. Also love that this is a 1x purchase and not an ongoing subscription. Great app!.Version: 2.8.0

Great Native Watch Running AppI love quite a few things with this app. And hope for tweaks in just a few areas. The fact it works seamlessly on watch only runs is tremendous. And the cues are great, easy to hear, and with great haptics. It also breaks the walk/runs into separate activities. Which I haven’t seen on other apps. The only tweaks I would have would be to allow for the option to utilize miles over km. I understand the logic. But it just isn't something I am accustomed to seeing after a lifetime of running. And it would be great to see interval runs as well. Great app though. Kudos! 👏.Version: 3.7.0

Why isn't the app icon an Apple Watch?Seems like an obvious thing to have done..Version: 3.3.1

Best couch to 5k watch appI did a lot of research before committing to a watch couch to 5k app. This is the best one by far..Version: 2.0

This app needs more loveGetting back into running is the main reason I bought an Apple Watch. The other apps have cumbersome Watch integration that had me frustrated. This developper came to the rescue with a simple and great little app!.Version: 1.1

Fantastic and simpleThis is a brilliant app, does exactly what it says it will. If you just want to exercise with your watch, well worth the small one time cost!.Version: 2.4

Seriously Thank YouAwesome app! I’m very pleased with how the app is working! Just buy it! No subscription! No extra cost! Works as stated! Easy to use! Just worth every cent! Thank You!.Version: 3.9.0

No phone! Finally a watch app that is actually a watch app. This is exactly what I have been looking for. The only con is the only way to hear the voice prompts is to be also listening to something else first. I would rather be running in silence..Version: 2.4

Works greatNo issues. Started my music, opened the app and hit start, and it worked seamlessly all the way through being able to see all the details in my Activity app. Great job!.Version: 1.1.1

Great app!!!!Updated my review after using for two weeks. It’s a fantastic app, and it feels so good to not have to carry a bulky phone. You can easily see your miles logged in the activity on the phone, so the fact that’s it’s in kilometers on the app doesn’t matter. Will you be developing apps for 10k and half marathon training?.Version: 2.7.0

Great and easy app to useThe only point of frustration was with the initial setup. The instructions on the website say to make sure to setup in the health apps settings. The app won’t show up in there until you hit start on the first training. After that it is simple to setup. This is a great app well worth the $2.99 one time fee..Version: 2.4

Perfection hassle free running.Privacy focussed. One off purchase. Leave your phone at home. Works flawlessly. I only wish for you to develop a 10k and beyond app. Will happily pay for those too once I get through 5k..Version: 2.7.0

Perfect!I wanted to complete the C25K programme but hate running with my phone. This app was exactly what I needed! It loaded onto my Apple Watch, was easy to start each workout and I liked how it vibrated against my wrist to tell me when to walk/run. I would highly recommended!.Version: 2.8.0

Fabulous appI love this app. Workouts are perfectly spaced, and build up at an appropriate pace. The voiceovers are pleasant and not an annoyance and best of all I can just hit play on my watch and go, without the need for my phone. I’m looking forward to testing out the latest update and tweaking my watch face complications to have it right under my fingers any time I want to go for a run. Thanks for the great work on the app and keep it up!.Version: 2.4

Perfect for starting running without your iPhoneListen to music on your Apple Watch while following the voice prompts of the Couch to 5k programme without having to take your phone with you. Music volume drops when the prompts to run or walk and at the halfway mark. Perfect! Developer was super helpful when I had a problem getting the app to work on my elderly Apple Watch 2 on watchOS 6. It now works flawlessly..Version: 2.6.1

Just get this appThe App Store has tons of c25k apps the free apps have tons of ads they keep trying to sale you upgrades and the watch apps are buggy and slow pay the few bucks and save your self the frustration.Version: 3.2.0

*Updated* Distance not recording**updated**user error on my part- all of the permissions were not turned on, therefore not tracking distance. Turned them all on and app works great :) Thank you!! I just got this app today and did my first run. However, my watch and the fitness app did not show the distance. ‘0’ is shown for distance, active calories, total calories, and average pace in the fitness app. I do however love that I don’t need my phone and it shows a map of the run. Just need to figure out the distance data..Version: 2.2.0

Great, simple appSo glad to have an app that you buy once instead of all these subscription based apps out there. It has excellent integration with the Fitness app and it’s really easy to use. No complaints here!.Version: 4.5.0

I just ran 5kms!What more do you want from an uncomplicated , simple, focussed app? Highly recommend..Version: 2.4

So worth it!This app is amazing. I just finished my final run and even continued running for another 5 minutes over. My mental and physical health have improved drastically thanks to this app! Such a sense of accomplishment. That’s it. You did it! 🏆 Thank you app developers.Version: 2.8.0

Awesome! This is a neat little app that’s helped me immensely with starting my couch to 5k journey! The addition of GPS is lovely and the only thing I’d add is an option for the voice accent..Version: 2.1

Getting me to my fitness goalsThis app is exactly what I wanted to get back into shape. My only complain is the running jump time between the 3rd and 4th week. Yo go from 9 to 16 minutes. I did it, but it was a big jump. Still, I really like the app..Version: 3.8.0

Ideal app at a sensible priceBrilliant to see a simple, attractive app that does what it sets out to do efficiently and effectively, and with no ridiculous money making subscription charge. Works well on the watch, allows you to listen to music or podcasts with minimal interruptions, shows useful data such as heart rate, and syncs to Apple Health..Version: 4.6.0

Easily the best out thereNo nonsense, no extra junk you don’t need. You run it on your watch and leave your phone behind. Perfect. I was sick and tired of getting the other apps to sync between phone and watch, this removes that option. Great work!!.Version: 2.4

Great App for new runnersThis App is great for 5K aspirers and longer term use for casual 5K level runners. My wife and I use it when training on our own and especially after injury setbacks. It is like having a personal trainer running alongside you. The voice instructions are very clear from the watch and so you don’t need to take your phone with you on the run. It’s one of those Apps you didn’t realise you needed until you’ve got it!.Version: 3.1.0

Fantastically motivatingWould purchase again, slick and reliable.Version: 3.0.2

The Perfect AppThe very best apps take what is actually quite complex functionality and makes it appear to the user as being simple and intuitive. This is exactly what this app does. I had a very specific list of requirements for what I wanted this type of app to do and this ticks all the boxes. It’s simple to use but does everything perfectly and works exactly as it should. I literally cannot fault it..Version: 2.8.0

Made the impossible possibleI am shocked and insanely grateful for how easy this made running for me - something I didn't think was possible. I started it having actually never ran for more than 3-4 min in my entire life (I'm 30) and then to making it through the program..Version: 3.7.0

Very convenient not having to take your phone on the runThis app is just what I was looking for since purchasing an iwatch. As a female runner it can often be difficult to find running leggings with pockets. Phone arm bands prove difficult to use and uncomfortable to wear. This app follows the original couch to 5k app which I used myself previously. The only gripe I have is that it doesn’t offer motivational words (which some people may not want or like), advice on general running technique, or countdowns of how many minutes are remaining in the longer run sections - hence the 4 stars. If it included countdowns/information on how long was remaining towards the end of the run section, then I would give 5 stars..Version: 2.6.1

Brilliant app for c25kI very rarely write reviews tbh but I really felt I needed to this time. I have done the programme before using a podcast but when the time came to redo it after an injury I did a search for Apple Watch apps and came across this one and thought I’d give it a go. Honest it is well worth the money, I love how it separates the warm up and cool down out of the main run. Makes keeping an eye on progress, or lack thereof, much easier. My only small gripe is that I can’t put the app from km into miles. I cannot work out pace or distance in my little brain from km to miles whilst in the middle of the run. I do get the information as I want it in the activity app but I’d like to have an idea of pace when I’m working out and I can’t get my head around km’s. #old.Version: 3.7.0

A really well-designed appSo far I’m not impressed with a lot of apps for the Apple Watch. I bought the Watch with cellular connectivity specifically so I could go exercise without my phone. Other exercise apps seem to really want you to either bring your phone with you when you run, or require all sorts of options and configuration. All I wanted was an app that told me when to run, told me when to walk, integrated with Apple Fitness, and worked reliably. This app is it! It works great! I love that it logs the warmups, cool-downs, and runs as distinct workouts, so Apple Fitness knows to report something as a walk and not a run, etc. The display is intuitive and informative. The interface is dead simple. tl;dr: it just works, and it works well.Version: 3.9.0

Perfect app for meI was looking to get back into running after a few years off, couch to 5K plans work really well to guide you back into the fitness journey but I wanted something that I could use without having to take my phone on my run. Watch to 5K is perfect for this! You can get your songs playing, leave the house and start the app with no issues. The app is fantastic for haptic feedback, sound prompts if you are using headphones and a great on screen guide giving you at a glance status of your run including time, average pace and even a little animation for how far into the workout you are. Awesome app, well worth the money!.Version: 3.9.0

Great stuffGreat app; has pretty much everything I'd want (when to run, when to walk, when halfway mark is). Would be nice if it was more obvious at a glance how long the next run would be for, but no biggie :).Version: 3.9.0

Brilliant app! A game changer!I’ve been following a couch to 5k plan on my phone and it’s been brilliant. I had progressed to week 5 whilst running with my phone in an armband. Having recently upgraded to an Apple Watch ultra I was looking for something to make full use of the cellular features of my fancy new watch and not have to carry my phone on me all the time. This app is brilliant. It follows the same progressions as the couch to 5k app and does it natively on your wrist. One thing to note is you don’t need to start an outdoor run on your watch as the app syncs automatically which is very useful but has now made my new side button redundant! TL:DR Get this app. It’s brilliant.Version: 3.3.1

Nice and simple watch only appSeems nice and simple to use so far. Only additions would be applying 5min warm up and cool down to start and end of each run. reason I haven’t given 5 stars is because the run goes to Apple heath but won’t allow automatic export to Strava and can’t find away to sync runs from app to Strava?.Version: 1.0

Fantastic! It’s a great simple app that has got me back into my running shoes. I downloaded it after reading its recommendation on a publication. So glad I did! The watch interface is great, and the phone app keeps track of watch you’ve covered..Version: 3.0.2

Low cost for high utilityThis is exactly what I wanted from my exercise and Apple Watch, an app that can take me from couch to 5k with no frills. I love the dialogue when wearing Bluetooth headphones. It would be nice if the app could beep or play a message over the speakers when I don’t have headphones, however. Sometimes I don't feel the prominent vibration while running, but its not a big deal since I think thats a limitation of the watch itself. I highly recommend this app. There are no hidden costs and the features are perfect for my running goals..Version: 2.4

Nice app with minor issue (sound)A really nice app, has helped me to get to week 8 so far which is the main thing :-) Only issue I have is with the haptic feedback being too subtle to me (and unfortunately no option for sound direct from the phone). I repeatedly tried the Airpods option but couldn’t get it to work. For reference this was with a Watch SE and Airpods v2 and v3..Version: 2.5

Great to be able to run without the phoneThis is great easy to use app that has all you need to do the couch to 5k program on your watch. I really like the vocal prompts that the app gives over the headphones and the fact that I can listen to music or podcasts while I run. Sessions are tracked on my activity and I can see them on my phone. Great app 5/5.Version: 1.0

Perfect Intro to running without extra nonsenseEasily one of better no frills running apps I’ve used to run walk and get into the sport. No accounts and great interface with nice animations and options..Version: 4.6.0

PerfectI used this app for my training and really liked it. Simple interface, easy to use. Not really any customizations, but it did the trick and helped me run for the first time in a few years. Now I am running 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a week without any pain. Definitely worth a few bucks!.Version: 2.8.0

Great little app that does what it says in tin! This app took me from only running a couple minutes all the way to completing my first 5k. The only option that I could use solely on my watch getting to leave the phone at home. Does exactly what you need it to with a simple interface. Would love a 5k to 10k similar app from the producer, would happily pay again for that!.Version: 2.1.1

Promising, but could be improvedIt does the job, but a couple of touches could make it a great app. Use the always on display properly! What’s the point of having it turn dark on a series7? It should be easier to see the information without raising the wrist. At least add a setting! The screen could be customised better, the option of having the pace, or splitting run and walk phases’ pace would be nice. A clearer numerical indication of runs done/to go rather than only the coloured lines on the top should also be considered. And while it’s nice, what’s the point of the running man animation on top? That’s real estate that could used better. Room for improvement for a paid app!.Version: 3.0.2

No subscription, works great on watchWhat more could you want, does exactly what it says. Only thing I would like is for the possibility of different announcer voices or just beeps..Version: 3.5.0

Simple, great appIf you want to train for a 5k run only with your Apple watch and leave your phone at home then this is the app for you. It works simply and does what it claims. I had tried a more expensive couch to 5k app previously and their watch app didn’t work right - the voice prompts didn’t work. This one work seamlessly, I highly recommend it..Version: 2.4

Great standalone appThis is a great app that’s just for the Apple Watch. No need to have your phone, this does all of the run/walk timing for you! The only thing I wish you could change is to make the distance in miles instead of km. But that’s pretty minor..Version: 2.6.1

Watch onlyI chose this app as I wanted to run with my watch and leave my oversized phone at home. So far it has proved ideal and does exactly what I want it to do. Great that it’s fully supported by the developer and improvements are continuing. Now time for another run....!.Version: 2.1.2

Perfect standalone appI had been looking for an app on the watch which let me try this plan without my phone and this fits the bill perfectly. Running with a phone and wired headphones just feels so cumbersome and wrong, yet thanks to this app I feel free! No wires, no heavy phone banging against my leg or strapped to my arm and the lack of 5 min warm up and cool down hasn’t bothered me as I have to walk over 5 mins to find a flat section of road for a run anyway..Version: 1.2

Perfect for doing c25kI have just used this app to complete the C25K and found it very helpful as I just like to run with my watch on no music. It taps your wrist when its time to run, half way etc. It gives a great breakdown of your run, heart rate, elevation, distance and an actual map of where you have ran. I used it today with headphones and there was no annoying voices telling you how to breath etc. just prompting half way and when to run. I have been going over the last week to see if I can improve my distance and heat rate and you can easily compare these on the app on your phone. Now I would really like a 10K one please. I can’t seem to find one. Thanks so much for such a great app, it has really helped me achieve my fitness goals..Version: 4.0.0

Just one little thing...Really like this app as I’ve been looking for a c25k programme where I don’t have to take my phone with me. It’s worked well for me so far but I have one little irritant which has stopped me giving it 5 stars. The workouts don’t get counted in the 7 workout week award. It’s not major, I know, but it would make it a perfect app for me if it did..Version: 2.1.2

All you needThis is really all you need for the Couch to 5K program. One thing I wish would be added, would be some audio queue when it’s time to switch between running and walking..Version: 1.0

Simple, Elegant, and exactly what I wanted! The interface is clean, the voiceover is encouraging, and it lets me leave my phone behind while focusing on my music and my training. This has been a real help in actually starting and committing to a training regimen! Simply put, it does everything I need, and nothing I don’t. If you want to do Couch to 5k with only your Apple Watch, this is the app..Version: 2.1

QuestionJust downloaded the app. Love the simplicity and is a great tool to get someone into running condition. Quick question though, it did not show my distance, pace, heart rate or calories during or after my first run. Am I missing something in my settings? Am I supposed to run the workout app on my watch at the same time? Thanks.Version: 2.0

Absolutely the best running companion with a watchCan't praise this app enough, I had been used a phone based one for years and this is exactly the improvement I was looking for to no longer have to carry my phone on runs. Only suggestion would be to hire a voice actor for the coaching sections as the text to speech leaves a bit to be desired, but that's such a minor thing in this otherwise amazing app..Version: 3.0.0

Well recommendedStarted on my C25K using the NHS app but that requires my phone with me. I also didn’t like all the chat during the run telling me how well I’m doing blah blah blah personally I find it patronising. This app takes my journey of C25K to a new level. Minimal voice prompts just tells you when to start walking and when to start running. There’s a prompt that tells you when you’re halfway. I don’t need to take my phone. I can just load up a playlist on watch slap in in some headfones and away I go for half an hour. Definitely recommend. I was hesitant at the price tag but after getting a reply from Ben about the voice prompts I bit the bullet and bought it. Well worth the three and a half quid..Version: 2.7.0

AwesomeIt does EXACTLY what I wanted. No more phone. Just the watch. I can listen to podcasts and still get the audio/haptic feedback. Also, Ben was very quick to respond when I had a question. I’ll definitely be buying his future apps..Version: 1.2

The only beginner running app you needThis app is aesthetically pleasing and puts an easy user interface on a 5k training plan. It works flawlessly with the watch and I ran further than I ever have with its tracking and encouragement! Love this app and well worth the money..Version: 3.3.1

All you need to start running!Best investment ever! I paid few bucks for this app and it has all I need with my Apple Watch! Sure, it does not have thousands of (useless) extra features, but it has all the basic ones working perfectly and smoothly. It gives me everything I needed and NO SUBSCRIPTION <3. For me this app is one of the best ever I purchased.Version: 3.0.0

No extra talk. Perfect!Love it. Tells me to run. Tells me to stop. That’s all I ever wanted. Tried other Couch to 5k apps and all of them jabber over my music, podcasts and audiobooks. I use what I’m listening to to distract from the occasional struggling moments. I never needed Jo Wiley telling me I’m a big brave boy. I already know that. Mummy wrote it in my 46th birthday card. Good mummy..Version: 2.4

Great watch based running app, needs workout improvementsAs I go back to running on the treadmill at the gym again, I decided to go back to using this app. Overall I really like it, easy to select the run I want, it makes separate workouts for the warmup and cool down as well. Complaints: I have it setup to do inside runs, but when I review the workout there is always this ridiculous squiggle drawing of me running like a madman in all directions at the gym as if it were an outside run even though it is classified as an indoor run. I hope this can be fixed. Also in the workout data there is no breakdown by heart zone. I hope these are things that Apple gives third party developers access to fix..Version: 3.9.0

Works perfectlyThe interval timing and progression over the weeks is great, not sure I’ll stick with it through the whole program because my pace is already nearing where I want it to be, but the app works exactly as you’d expect, audio cues and great and it integrates nicely into apple health! Definitely worth the money.Version: 2.8.0

Awesome!I’m nearly done with Couch to 5K and this app has been the perfect companion. Simple and elegant UI, and most importantly I can leave my phone at home! Would recommend for any Apple Watch users looking to get running. The only improvement I need is for the developer to add a 5K->10k programme!.Version: 3.3.1

Glad I found this app!“Perfection is Achieved Not When There Is Nothing More to Add, But When There Is Nothing Left to Take Away” - Antoine de Saint-Exupery..Version: 2.4

RequestBrilliant app. Have done week one so far. Hello. I cannot hear the voice coach through my head phones. Only the start and then just beeps for each stage. Is this correct or do I need to do something in the settings. Thanks..Version: 2.1

Helped me establish a healthy routineI’ve done the couch25k program a few times. This app is helping me do it again using my Apple Watch independently of my iPhone on my runs. No complaints. Thank you!.Version: 3.8.0

PerfectExcellent app! Been using it for about 4 weeks now so I’m nearly half way through the program and loving it. Everything works as it should, simple and straightforward. Now I’m hoping the developer will consider doing a 5 to 10k version for when I’m finished this one!.Version: 2.5

Love the app!!Very helpful app that motivates me to start running! I’m a running newbie with no running gear so I didn’t want to have to hold my phone during runs, this app is perfect as it works on my watch even when disconnected to my phone. Also love the trophies and the option to share my run on social media - makes me feel motivated! Tech support was also amazing as I had issues syncing my watch to my phone..Version: 3.7.0

A beautifully simple, easy to use C25K app that doesn’t require bringing your phoneI hesitated to pay the 5.99 (AUD) cost but after reading the reviews and Reddit thread I did, and buy an I happy I did! This app is exactly what C25K is supposed to be - effective, easy to use, reliable. Highly recommend you buy this app before it gets bought out by one of the major players and becomes a subscription service!.Version: 3.3.1

Really good appGreat app! I use it without ear pods, the haptics tell me when to walk or run. With the watchOS 7 update, the timer wasn’t counting down but after rebooting my watch as advised by the app developer, this has been resolved. The only improvement I suggest is to include the five minute walk before and after each run..Version: 1.2

Fantastic for non cellular users.Great to be able to run with just your watch and leave you heavy phone behind. I always disliked that the other couch to 5k apps didn’t allow you to glance down and see how long was left. The only bit of feedback I’d say is that it would be good to have more vocal updates, countdowns to when you need to start your run and how far into the section you are e.g run for 2 minutes and it updates you 1 minute in. I understand you can glance down but a audible update would make it super useful when your focusing/struggling..Version: 2.4

Love this appThe watch to 5k app is great and I love it.Version: 4.1.0

Worth every pennyI had downloaded the NHS app, but this needed you to have your phone with you, and I really didn’t fancy that option. Came across this app which allows me to use my Apple Watch and the vibration notification to start and stop running. It’s made the horrible task of running a little more enjoyable…...Version: 3.8.0

Life ChangingWith this app I went from having never run to hitting up a 5k 3 times a week, a healthy habit I can take forward for the rest off my life. I repeated several runs until I had the stamina to move on and it even tracks that. While the couch to 5k training method isn’t unique, this app is. It’s simple and functional, no subscription, does what it says on the tin. I suggest it to all my friends wanting to be more healthy..Version: 4.1.3

Brilliant App. No iPhone required. Back running again! What a brilliant App. Wouldn’t be too much to say it transformed my fitness life!! I was suffering with an injury for a number of years and every time I went back to run I would get reinjured. That was until I used this Couch to 5k app. By using the app it enabled me to build the running up at a steady pace, build strength and avoid injury. I use it with my Apple Air Pods and love the way the app works with music playing in the background and also voice prompts to tell you what you need to do so you don’t have to look at your watch the whole time. You also don’t need your iPhone with you which is fantastic as if gives you a real sense of freedom to just run. The app has all the stats you would want from doing a run and motivates you to keep going. I really cannot recommend getting into running with this app enough. It made me feel great to be out exercising again..Version: 1.2

Such a great appThis is exactly what I was looking for in a C25K app. I really didn’t need all the extra stuff that almost every other app has, and I didn’t want to pay a subscription fee monthly just to use my watch when I was out running. This app is perfect - watch only, has audio cues for running/walking, syncs with Fitness and works with the music app. It has no superfluous bits to it and is a very reasonable one time purchase. Really great job developers!.Version: 2.2.0

Just What I NeededThis is an excellent watch app that was just what I needed to get back into running. No need to bring your phone along, just my watch and AirPods. I start my music, then start the the app and go! The app will lower the music volume temporarily while it’s giving you instructions on when to run, walk, or if you’ve hit the halfway point. A bit of advice I learned the hard way: when the app tells you to slow down to a walk, be sure to walk fast, it will make the transition into full time running easier..Version: 3.0.2

Incredible app for beginner runnersI’ve been wanting to run for a while now, and this is literally perfect for training to do longer runs. i’m 3 weeks in, and at the beginning could not fathom running for more than 1 minute straight and here i am doing 3 minutes. it doesn’t seem like a lot but it really is, and has been seriously beneficial for my chronic pain. this is a rare but well deserved Apple W.Version: 4.0.0

A life changer.I’m 55, and haven’t run in 20 years. After quitting smoking, I finally had the lung capacity and energy levels to try again. I hated the idea of dragging my phone around on runs, so this app—combined with my iWatch, EarPods, and Spotify—was perfect. It helped me accomplish something I’d wished for for many years, but didn’t think possible. So thankful for it..Version: 3.0.2

Very good aside from one small edge caseThis app is great, I can just run with my Apple Watch so no need to drag my phone around. There is enough of me to drag without the additional weight. I really like having the little voice in my ear which forces me to pace myself, I am on week two and it’s increased just enough to push my heart rate zones to where they need to be. My only gripe is you HAVE to allow all access, In my edge case I don’t want it to write activities to apple fitness, but if I turn the write permissions off for this then the app doesn’t work. I’d be happier if I could use it with the permissions I want..Version: 3.7.0

Simply worksI’ve worked through the C25K program a few times over the years and with various apps. Ben’s option here is the beat for runners who want to carry minimal electronics on their runs. I only need my Apple Watch and my AirPods. It is a very well-designed and developed app. It hasn’t crashed a single time or misreported or caused any other problems for me. Other running apps on the store often treat the Apple Watch as an afterthought which lead to frustrating user experiences and issues with recording the runs. Keep up the great work, Ben!.Version: 2.1.2

The 5k watch app I was seeking!A very simple app that works just on your Apple Watch. I can leave my phone at home and just run. It has Family Sharing enabled, so one small purchase means everyone in my family can have it too..Version: 3.0.2

Better than other appsThis app is great I like the fact I only pay once and it’s a small fee, but I don’t hear the voice even when my headphones are paired to my watch and my workouts aren’t sent to my Strava account which I dislike. Not sure if this is just me and I’m doing something wrong or what. Thanks I’m advance if there’s a response.Version: 3.9.0

Brilliant appNo annoying extras just what is needed and so handy being able to leave phone at home! Works perfectly. Thank you for creating this!.Version: 2.7.0

Love the app, butEverything is perfect with the app, but there seems to be an error with the running program. Week 5 starts with 5 min runs on day 1. Day 2 jumps to 8 min runs and day 3 has a 20 min run. Week 6 day 1 then drops down to 5 min, 8 min and 5 min runs. That makes no sense. I can’t go from running for 5 min to a 20 min nonstop run and if I can do 20min non stop then I don’t need to go back to the 5 min run. I saw other apps in the AppStore and it seems like this one has the order wrong..Version: 2.5

Great guide through the programI got this to track my attempt at the couch to 5k program and it has done that as expected. It’s easy to use. I like having the prompts telling me when to run and walk. I feel like this app is making the whole process easier for me..Version: 4.4.0

Motivating you with the essentialsA straight down the line app that does just what it should, recommended as a great starting point in your running journey, and I’m just under halfway finished!.Version: 4.1.2

Almost thereExcellent app for the purposes of tracking runs without having to carry the dang phone along! I like it so much in fact that I wish I could use it to the exclusion of native fitness apps. If it had just two more features (the ability to track free runs at the end of the 5K program and the ability to toggle to miles), it would be a dream..Version: 2.4

Cool app but can not import runs to StravaRecently went for a run with this app. The run shows up as a workout in my fitness app but it will not import to Strava. Pretty disappointing but the app is still good..Version: 2.2.0

I owe this App more than I paidMy lord, it’s been 8 weeks, I just ran 30 minutes for the first time in my life. But this time, it didn’t feel like I was dying the entire time, gasping for breath. This time, I was in rhythm. And it felt absolutely incredible. Did my 28 minute run and continued for 2 more - thus hitting my target a week early. I cannot believe it. Last year I was a recovering ex chain smoker and in the worst shape of my life, probably about 100lbs overweight. Today I am 50lbs lighter. But thanks to this app, I can run, I can walk up a hill and hold a conversation, I can go wild in the bedroom without tapping out for rest breaks. I feel incredible. It’s simple, but it’s genius. It does exactly what it needs to do. Best return on any investment I’ve made. It hasn’t been easy by any stretch of the imagination, but coming out the other side is mind blowing. Thank you for developing this one! You’ve helped me change my life for the better..Version: 3.5.0

Great appI found this app really easy to uses. I’m on my 3rd C25K now following recovery from injuries. Easy to use and it supports the fitness recording apps I use. As it ‘sits’ on your Apple Watch you don’t need to take anything else, my headphone pair to my watch and I load my running music onto my watch too. The app voice talks clearly over the music. My only disappointment was not to hear a fanfare after my final run 😊😊.Version: 3.9.0

Simple and EffectiveThis is a super streamlined application of couch to 5k, perfect for the watch. It's an uncomplicated way to free you of the phone. All the analytics are available in the Apple Fitness app, so it's fine that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles. If I could, I'd give it 4.5 stars because the volume on the voice prompts is too low. It doesn't dip the background music enough and it doesn't seem to match the volume setting. It also logs the warmup, run, and cooldown as separate workouts in the Fitness app. It's annoying not to be able to see the total distance and route in a single workout. And you can't see your route for the warm up and cool down because it logs it as a walk which doesn't record the route..Version: 2.5

Works through watch, is a weekly progression app - RECOMMENDED FOR ALLThis app did everything I needed it to with only a couple things I was left wanting it to do. 1. You don’t need your phone to use this program. 2. It’s a weekly build up program for running. 3. It tracks and syncs to Apple Health. 4. Allows music to be played and coaching queues still work. 5. The phone version is great for a full view of the runs and progress. Wants: 1. Quick pause button - I have to scroll (swipe sideways?) the page to get to pause. 2. Warm up/Cool down and music player - you can’t play omusic while in warm up or end it in cool down because you can’t scroll (swipe sideways) to the music page. You can bypass this by opening the music app on your watch and playing through there. Nice job dev team - it works great..Version: 3.0.2

AirPods issueHave been using the app for 2 weeks now and today is the first time I’ve got the prompts to play over my AirPods pro2 (had to change setting to speak over watch speaker to even get this as only gives haptic feedback if you don’t ) I’m wanting to listen to music as well and no matter what settings I’ve tried over the last 2 weeks, I can’t get the app to allow music AND audio prompts over my AirPods. Love the app itself but this audio problem is annoying. Today’s run was boring without some tunes! Update: issue resolved after advice from Ben and absolutely loving the app now I’m listening to my favourite music. If you’re having problems, reach out to Ben and he’ll help. Totally recommend this for couch to 5k..Version: 3.7.0

OutstandingThere is nothing not to love about this app. No need for iPhone, focus on running, simple instructions, clear indication of run/walk intervals, great voiceover via bluetooth headphones. It’s the perfect couch to 5K for people who just want the intervals, tracking, guidance and some music. If you want to be chased by zombies, or to pay subscription for different voices it’s probably not for you but it’s the zen, clean, focused choice for anyone looking to do C25K. After losing my fitness I tried many alternatives but found this app to be the one that gave me the least excuses, the least distraction and the best experience. Huge kudos to the developer for creating something really great..Version: 2.4

Perfect 5k Training Companion 🏃I’ve tried a few different apps and this one is the best! One-time payment and everything just works. The prompts are clear and the tracking is great. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to start, or re-start running. It’s one of the few apps that don’t try and get a subscription and is truly work the price, without a doubt. Very great app..Version: 3.9.0

AwesomeUsing the NHS app and faffing with a phone holder and earphones was a minor annoyance which was becoming a CBA - this app is so worth the small cost to stick on my trainers and start the next run. Simple and solves a problem..Version: 2.7.0
