Aviary - for Twitter for Negative User Reviews

Good start but needs helpI think this is a great app from a design perspective. Unfortunately there are too many bugs or things that just don’t work right. Links often don’t match what they should, and sometimes you can watch the link change in the tweet to something unrelated right before your eyes. Very odd. You may tap a link and get something completely different. If you share a tweet through iMessage, more often than not the tweet doesn’t actually share, it just sends a blank message. I can’t figure out how to view the tweet that is being retweeted. Sometimes I can tap on it and it takes me to that tweet, sometimes absolutely nothing happens. Same thing for tweets in the timeline. Sometimes tapping on a tweet takes me to a completely different tweet. And the thing that is most infuriating, when you open the app, it shows the tweets you were viewing last time, not the newest tweets. On the iPad, tapping the “Feed” tab takes you to the top, but this doesn’t work on the iPhone. You have to tap the top of the screen. Great idea for an app, but it really doesn’t work as it should. Hopefully over time it will mature. But, this was released before it was ready, leaving us paying customers as beta testers..Version: 1.0.95

2nd bestI thought I’d give this a try after a decade with Twitterrific. It’s a decent app with nice graphics widgets but I found it incorrectly showing no likes on tweets and it doesn’t have a delete and edit function..Version: 1.0.12

Take a time outPlease stop the daily releases, take some time out from releasing new functionality and fix the basics, it’s a lottery where my timeline will be when I launch the app and this has been the case for many updates. Quality not quantity..Version: 1.0.68

BuggyUpdate: He keeps updating it but still can’t consistently display lists. But of a showstopper really. Developer constantly updating sometimes multiple times a day but not really clear what he's updating. It had got better but is still buggy and not convinced about his real commitment to the app. I want to like it but just don't have the confidence in it..Version: 1.0.151

Missing ThingsNo auto refresh when opening app. No numerical value of tweets when opening that continuously countdown as you’re scrolling. When you tap on a tweet to see replies, sometimes the comments are there, sometimes they aren’t. I’ll gladly change my review when these are fixed. But for $5 these should already be there. Updated review: As others have stated, too many bugs to actually enjoy this app or trust in it. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a one person developed app, where resources are an issue but it still isn’t ready for prime time. I will stick with Tweetbot going forward and one day I hope this app is on par..Version: 1.0.50

100 updates and it’s still unstable and unusableSpecially any media anybody tweets. Half the pics/gifs just show blank. If you watch a video full screen, it’ll randomly pop into some zoom mode and not let you click anything until you force-quit the app. If you unmute the video, it’ll randomly reset itself back to the beginning of the video and remute itself, but you’ll still hear the audio from where it was and that won’t go away until you force-quit. This app is a hot mess that should not have been released yet..Version: 1.0.100

Good app BUT...Multi columns toggle does nothing and cloumns are not resizeable by how wide they are, the max txt size is still too small on 4k display, the app always opens as a tiny box when started, if you make lists there is no way to hide that column, thats the new issues I've found so fare since the last update. I do however think it's great that the dev keeps updating this app all the time so hopefully these and any other issues will be fixed soon?.Version: 1.1.18

Filtered tweetsCan someone explain why so many tweets are filtered? With the ‘tap to view’ it’s infuriating I just want to see my feed. The app is good but it is very buggy, and the widget was my main reason for purchasing and it is not very good, it doesn’t update properly. Also deleting tweet and unfollowing people can take some time to sync up, these are small problems but really breaking a possibly great experience. I’m on a iPhone 12 for reference..Version: 1.0.80

Looks nice, but impracticalI got this app on a free promotion. While the app looks nice, I find it almost impossible to customise my columns. I will be reverting back toi the default client.Version: 1.0.91

Disappointingly buggyI really wanted to like this app, it sounded like just what I wanted from most of the reviews. But it's by far the buggiest app I've paid out money for. I get that it's a one-person development job but I'm surprised it's been promoted so much in the App Store for such a buggy product. I would have been OK paying a couple of pounds for this but to pay £5 to be someone's beta tester is just annoying. I'll come back in a couple of months to see how much has been fixed but for now I'll go back to Twitterrific. Update: two app updates later and most of the bugs have been fixed. Maybe I just got unlucky with a particularly buggy release. Increased my rating from 2 to 3 stars..Version: 1.0.25

For all the updates basics are still buggyLinks in tweets don’t open, can’t select text, and a few other things I can’t remember as I usually don’t stay long before I rage and go to another Twitter client..Version: 1.1.27

Lots of features but not always usableI've been using this app since it's official release. I love a lot of the features it supports like PIP and it's a beautiful app. My primary issue with this app is that it isn't a great daily driver. Basic functionality like timeline refresh is clunky and slow. This app also fails to display threads correctly. I hope it focuses more on usability so that I can try coming back to it in the future. At this point, it's just missing too much basic functionality..Version: 1.0.102

It's a great app built with a lot of love, but with some issuesOffers a lot of features and tries to stick to the platform conventions and best practices, which is greatly appreciated. There are a handful of issues that unfortunately degrade the experience. When doing search, I get a list of results, - but when I click into one of these results, I get a completely irrelevant list of "mentions". I want to go to the tweet or account I found, not to this view. Could be user error and I just missed something, - but in this case, I don't feel like this feature is intuitive enough. Various minor bugs and refresh issues I experienced unfortunately make the score lower than it could be. Looking forward to seeing improvements - one thing to love is how dedicated the developer is to working on this. Updates are frequent and always address relevant issues..Version: 1.0.132

Don't bother!Pros- the App continues to be updated. Cons- Despite the updates, the APP is non-functional on a M1 IPAD PRO. Don't bother to purchase..Version: 1.1.37

Still disappointingRe tried a year later, still multiple issues. Timeline refreshes while a video is playing, turned off video loop yet loop still occurs, app still crashes. App looks great, would like to use it but after a year with ongoing issues is very disappointing. On iPad total disaster! Scrolling judders constantly. Trending won’t allow customisation, freezes often..Version: 1.1.44

Nice Design, Poor FunctionalityI downloaded this app after reading about it on a few websites after the new iOS update. It had great reviews and I liked the idea that it removed targeted ads and had a chronological order, but after spending the 5 dollars to purchase the app and using it for a few days, I’ve noticed a lot of issues. I’ve been having problems loading tweets, leaving multiple hour gaps in my timeline, as well as not being able to see the replies to tweets on multiple occasions. All of these things work just fine on the normal Twitter app, which I’ll unfortunately be going back to. Save your money and look elsewhere. The widget is not worth it, and the app needs some work, especially for what it costs..Version: 1.0

BuggyIt lags when swiping, and the image display is always incomplete..Version: 1.1.44

Test your app before releaseFrequent release with no testing is no better than no updates at all..Version: 1.0.55

Regretting itDefinitely not worth the purchase as of me writing this review. The settings are constantly resetting so I have to keep doing them over, app crashes 50% of the time, had to uninstall and reinstall cause the app was stuck on the faceid loading screen. Has potential, but not quite there yet. Definitely love all of the different settings and features but for now, I’m gonna stick to the default Twitter app..Version: 1.1.43

BuggyI liked Aviary at first but there are a lot of simple things that just don’t work. - Jumpy timeline - crashes when clicking URLs and sometimes just tweets - replies often won’t load - threads won’t load I’ve sent a handful of bug reports over the past few weeks, but haven’t received a response. I’m not sure if it’s helpful or annoying. If I’m not sure I’m being heard, I’m not sure if my issues will be resolved. I’ll probably check in here later. Aviary is a cool idea but I too often have to revisit Twitter itself to simply view content I can’t get to show here. Also, you should make it a bit easier to send feedback in the app. It’s not obvious where to do this at the moment and I think a lot of your poor ratings (like this one) are from people just trying to be heard..Version: 1.0.93

BuggyWrote and submitted a tweet. Shows on my profile but doesn’t show on my feed. Dragged down to refresh, still nothing. Quit and restart app, still nothing. Official app shows the tweet as expected. Edit: well, another day, another update to the app. Just remember that this is using people’s data, dude. How about bulking up the fixes and giving it just a *little* more time between releases so we don’t need to eat our bowl of rice one grain at a time?.Version: 1.0.130

Not bad - needs more workI got this app because I wanted a twitter app that would work and sync timelines between iPhone, iPad and Mac. I have used another app for years but it's never been perfect so tried this. And it looks great in some ways, but there are a lot of little bugs which need to be fixed before it gets more than 3 stars. 1. The timelines sort of sync, but sometimes it’s very laggy, but there is a bug where you read to the latest tweet on your mac, go to the iPad, that hasn’t caught up yet and then the Mac syncs BACK to the earlier time shown on the iPad. 2. The second pane where you can show more details about a tweet often just goes blank and can’t be used without a restart. 3. If I want the simplified view on the Mac why can’t I change the width of the app? Indeed if I want three panes why can’t I change them all? 4. Why can’t I choose simplified view on iPad? 5. The right-most text of tweets is often missing from the right of the pane on the iPad..Version: 1.0.149

Complicated to useIts a very esoteric app. Loads of functions hidden behind push presses, no auto loading and I can't see replies to comments for some reason. It has a Blunt design, no whimsy. It took me a month to figure out how to delete a tweet. Prior to that, not knowing put me off the app for a while. But I paid for it so I have to persevere. But hey. No adverts..Version: 1.0.149

VoiceOver Support Isn’t GreatIt doesn’t have great support for VoiceOver which I was disappointed with considering it’s mentioned in the app description, I don’t think it’s worth £5.Version: 1.0.12

Very buggyDespite the veneer of quality given by the quite nice design, this app is a buggy mess. There is a regular stream of updates for it but these tend to focus more on gimmicky additions rather than the much more important issue of fixing some of the core stability issues. There are several better Twitter clients on the App Store. Not recommended..Version: 1.0.103

Buggy, Unstable, Not Finished!I wanted to love this app, but I think it’s somewhat overhyped. It’s not finished frankly, the timeline really doesn’t load properly. Countless times it’s showing the latest tweet as 20 or 30 minutes ago, the only way to fix it is to force quit the app. Changing the app icon just isn’t working properly, the app crashes quite regularly on both iPhone and iPad. I’m irritated that I wasted £4 on this app, it needs another few months of work!.Version: 1.0.79

Not sure how this was ready for launchI gave the app 3 stars because of its potential and UI, but I'm not sure how this was ready for primetime. Often either my timeline doesn't load or widgets don't. Restarting / Reinstalling doesn't work either. It's seemingly random. It feels like a beta Furthermore, the selection wheel to select a trending location is painful with no search option. I'd love multiple trends too. The app is beautiful and has loads of potential, but it's not ready yet. I wanted to use this along with the official app but it isn't worth $5..Version: 1.0.25

Good app but pretty buggyFor the most part this app is pretty good, but there’s a couple of issues that I ran into. The first being that the Apple Watch app was stuck on the “open the app on your iPhone” screen and no matter what I did, including reinstalling the app, I couldn’t get it to go away. The second was spending the last 18ish hours dealing with phantom audio coming out of both my iPhone and iPad. It was super creepy, and a little bit ago I finally figured out that it was coming from the app when I opened it to check Twitter and it started doing it again. I closed it and the audio stopped, then I opened it and the audio started playing again. These issues aside, I like the UI and I think eventually I could end up using it more than Tweetbot. Just isn’t quite there yet..Version: 1.0.50

Good overallThe good is that it feels like a fully native app. The buttons, layout, experience is right at home in macOS. And of course, it never interrupts your timeline with "You should follow these algorithmically-chosen people!" and other such irritants pleading for you to stay after you've read everything new. The bad is that it's not quite polished yet on the Mac. I wish I could resize the window such that I only have two columns—timeline and detail—without the search column (or whatever column of your choosing) permanently displayed. I wish the media player worked at all. I also wish the window titlebar wasn't there and the columns were full-height, like Mail or Messages. I wish the app actually synced between my Mac and my iPhone, but I'm used to that not happening..Version: 1.0.100

Nice UI but very buggyI bought this app hoping that it could replace Twitterfic across all my iOS device. But I am very disappointed with the outcome as the app is very buggy, having trouble syncing timeline, Apple Watch app is not working. Overall I would hold onto getting this unless you are using it only on one device and wont rely on cross device syncing..Version: 1.0.82

Lacking what i needNo ability to change trending to just show whats relevant to me, i.e. top trending in UK. no ability to add columns based on specific hashtags. was hoping it would be like tweetdeck, but it isnt..Version: 1.1.44

Too many bugsThis looks like a nice app but fails on several accounts to live up to its billing. I’ve encountered annoying bugs. No response from the Dev to either email or tweets. I notice that they use awful ‘canned responses’ in response to reviews which is annoying. I’ve asked Apple for a refund as this app simply isn’t worth paying for in its current state..Version: 1.1.44

BrokenDMs never come though, still a lot of messy animations and stutters in the UI and overall inconsistencies in the app make this hard to recommend. The developer doesn’t even use his own app on his own Twitter account which says a lot about the state of the app..Version: 1.1.43

Too many bugsConsidering the volume of updates, the number of bugs is ridiculous. I keep coming back in the hope that things have improved but I'm never able to use the app for very long before becomming completely frustrated. I've opend the search box, only to foind the close search option has disappeared and the app has frozen, it also wont allow me to quit the app. Time to uninstall again but I doubt I'll return again just to discover all the new bugs. It's a substrandard app that quite frankly Apple should boot out until they find someone that can code. Image rendering on ipad is weird, showing the middle third and the layout on Mac is odd. Placing a search column as lkarge as the feed column, with no way of re-sizing or closing..Version: 1.0.149

Ruined the app on MacOSWith the older toggle compact sidebar and window it was perfect. Now you have to toggle everything off and even then it does not fit the window. Hopefully this will be fixed but until then I am going back to Twitter..Version: 1.1.5

Keep having crash issuesAs beautiful as this app is, I have to keep using Twitter in Firefox since the app keeps crashing and I never can see notifs that I have a like/mention, etc. I believe in this app but man, I am getting impatient..Version: 1.0.102

BuggyLots of bugs that are being ignored, while it’s updated daily with new features. I don’t care about features when I can barely use the app. All of these bugs have existed since the beta, and with countless updates since release none of them have been touched. He cares more about insignificant new features, but rarely fixing bugs. I’ve switched back to my old Twitter app, I can’t take daily updates with no bug fixes. • Timeline doesn’t remember where I was. I often read the same tweet multiple times because it scrolled back. This bug is SO common I’m shocked it shipped this way. • Duplicate chunks of tweets a few times: I scroll past a bunch, then the same bunch again. Only seen this once or twice. • Tweeting at an account I follow doesn’t show a suggestion for that account, rather other random accounts I don’t follow. I have to type the entire user name every single time. • Can’t long-press any links to copy the URL. • Tapping a linked tweet “preview” opens details for the tweet of the account I follow, not the tweet that person linked to. • Undoing a retweet is strangely rather difficult. PS: we don’t need or want four updates in a day. Focus more time on developing. It’s wasting everyone’s time creating so many builds and not fixing the actual issues..Version: 1.0.52

Multiple Accounts Messed UpHi, just purchased this app and a waste of money. It can’t seem to cope with multiple accounts. Shows the feed of one account in one column with the list of another account and the profile shows another account. Would ask for a refund but this ain’t Google is it..Version: 1.0.5

Could be a killer appIncredibly flexible features, I was amazed. However I really wanted to love this app and it be my replacement for the official Twitter app but so disappointed to find as many bugs as I have. This has unfortunately made this unusable for me. Issues posting and crashing. For just browsing my timeline I had no issues, but 4.49 is a lot to pay just for that..Version: 1.1.44

Best Twitter Client!I’ve been beta testing Aviary since the first beta and everything that it has to offer (native iOS experience, a huge number of features, Widgets, PiP videos, etc) makes it the best iOS Twitter client, hands down! And the fact that you can get the iOS, iPadOS, and macOS versions for a low price, it should make it an insta-buy! Amazing work Shihab!.Version: 1.0

Find it very buggyI like the UI a lot and seems to have potential as a great Twitter app. However, it also crashes regularly and does not load Tweet details (shows blank page). I’ve paid for it, so I can only hope the bugs can squished. I’ll continue to use Tweetbot as my primary app though..Version: 1.0.100

Something Happened!I was enjoying this app, on my iPad Pro, for a while now however, there are issues which are forcing me to consider another solution: - it does crash fairly often but recovers fine - annoyingly, especially at the start of the day, it doesn’t sync to the latest tweet in my feed. Starting another twitter app dfixes this immediately! - multi-column view now is an issue. It starts in multi view then quickly changes to one column view. Quitting and restarting fixes the issue but only for a short time The last issue is important to me and unless fixed soon I will move to another app. Too bad..Version: 1.1.35

Promising, but currently ununsableI don't meant to sound harsh, because this really could be the best Twitter client available. the aesthetic is by far the best, the layout is nice & makes sense. super customizable as well. it's missing a few key features though, I want to use this app but I keep defaulting back to Twitter. First off, the app freezes pretty consistently. I'd say every other time I use it, it freezes and crashes. the polls thing is really annoying too, I'm not going to keep signing in just to vote let alone view results. also the widget displays tweets from both accounts, it'd be cool if there was a way to edit that. I really hope y'all figure this out, it'd be a really cool app..Version: 1.0.75

Crashes constantlyIPad 11 pro. It's crashed three times in last 5 Mins. I click on a link or tweet and app closes. The tweets inside threads display from oldest to newest and can't find option to change. I tried uploading a video but it only posted the text and not the video. It doesn't display tweets or retweets or hearts or share button in main feed. Have to click on the tweet to see. There's a lot of work to be done on this app. For now it should be free. It's not worth paying for..Version: 1.1.35

FlawedLooks good, blocks adverts and shows link previews, but kept closing randomly, dm’s didn’t show and randomly posts wouldn’t publish. Eventually gave up and went back to official app which is a real shame..Version: 1.0.102

Not bad, has issuesIt's improved slightly, however, why do I feel like we are beta testing it? The last update means that I can't view any new teets. Also can't seem to get shut of the selected tweet column, don't want it and can't get shut of it.Version: 1.0.77

A great start but needs some work stillI’ve been using the app since it was in beta, it was super promising off the bat so I grabbed it and have stuck with it for a while now. There are some issues tho. The feed is still super laggy and sometimes images just never load. The messages rarely ever work, they sometimes just never send or never load in the first place. Along with not loading replies often do not load and same goes for looking at a thread. Overall it’s a good start to a Twitter client, I love the customization level and the layout of the app. I just wish it worked better as a Twitter client. I can’t wait to see the app get improved as time goes on. Great job!.Version: 1.0.109

Buggy, incomplete experienceDMs don’t work, you cannot send tweets as DM inside the app. Retweet button doesn’t let you quote tweets, you cannot decide what algorithm to use. Tweets occasionally don’t show up. Sometimes I would tweet something from one account and will apper as my other account tweeted it. The design, feel and customization levels of the app are amazing but due to its limitations, it’s a little inconvenient to use..Version: 1.0.45

ConcernsI enjoy helping out indie/single developers however my concern is that the creator of this app doesn’t even seem to use his app on his own personal twitter account which is odd and alarming. I keep seeing twitter for iPhone and web on his tweets. The app is polished updated on a regular basis and I quite enjoy the app with plenty of features but because of this finding I’ve decided to not to continue to use the app..Version: 1.1.41

Most Bugs Have Been Fixed. Still Missing Gap DetectionThank you for fixing the major bugs over these last few updates. One thing that I still hope to see, is the ability to load more than 200 tweets at a time, so that there aren’t any tweets missing in the timeline. I’ve used other apps that are able to load around ~750 tweets, using gap detection, so hopefully that can be done with Aviary as well..Version: 1.0.121

Bugs aplentyGreat to look at but full of bugs. Unable to do simple searches or even tweet. Was great a week ago but now starting to get unusable. Not worth £4.99 ☹️.Version: 1.0.80

Good and more1. The language support indicates that the application supports Chinese, but it still does not support it so far. I hope to fix this problem as soon as possible. 2. The tweet translation function is very good. I hope to set the automatic translation of global tweets, or add translation options in the left or right swipe. 3. There is not an intuitive visual feedback when sending a tweet. I don't know whether I sent it successfully or not. 4. When multi-column layout on ipad, every time you open the application, the left column is there, you need to manually slide left, hoping to remember the last layout settings. 5. Regardless of whether it is a picture or a video, it is cropped at the same ratio. I hope to display the original ratio (especially the video). The click logic of the video hopes to refer to the full-screen playback of the official client. The picture uses the waterfall stream or the official client. 6. Poor fluency (compared to the smoothness when using appstore), and sometimes crashes (tweet, pull-down refresh, horizontal and vertical screen (ipad), left swipe left sidebar, etc.).Version: 1.0.90

A little disappointedFirst of all, the UI is beautiful and a lot of work has gone in to justify the £3.99 price tag. However, posts that feature links with images or video cards are not showing only the tweet text. Have checked my settings to make sure all is on but no effect. It means when sports teams list their lineups (which now are done by links and not images), the tweet shows nothing - so I end up having to login in a browser to view. For this reason it’s usefulness is diminished for me. Hopefully a future update will solve this and I can improve my rating..Version: 1.0.127

Great design but functionality not thereThe design is beautiful and pleasure to look at. It fits the iOS aesthetically better than other apps out there. However, functionality is lacking. Scrolling through tweets is choppy and lets me know there is a bug of some sort. It takes ~15 seconds for tweets to load in the timeline vs other Twitter apps that load significantly faster. Timeline sync between iPad and iPhone does not work even though iCloud is on. I really want to use this app but the functionality is preventing me from doing so..Version: 1.0.93

Still BuggySo I downloaded the App after quite a while today and right off had to encounter several bugs and glitches. First bug I encountered was the authentication. I signed in with my Twitter account nothing happened I signed in again and the App crashed. Finally after the 3rd try I was able to sign in. Multi container scrolling is very buggy It keeps dragging the container to the left and I have to remove my finger and scroll again. Tweet details are a hit and miss sometimes it loads the replies sometimes it doesn’t. Navigation is buggy too, changing the tint to primary makes the text disappear. Also clicking the navigation does nothing I expected it to scroll to the top of the feed. Tab mode UX is also poor there’s no padding on the either sides the content is stretched makes it impossible to read anything. The App still has a long way to go to become even remotely accessible and useable..Version: 1.1.7

Looks great, very buggyI like how this UI looks. Very clean and the timeline updates well. The downside to this is each update seems to bring more bugs. If i put the app into a single window mode I can’t get individual feeds to load. The app quits intermittently for no apparent reason. I expected more for my money..Version: 1.0.101

Nice design, lots of bugsI’ve used Tweetbot for years, as I felt it was the best visible Twitter experience. That is, until Aviary came along. I love how it looks on the ipad with the different columns. That being said, as other reviewers have noted, the app is unfortunately very buggy. Quite often, searches on Twitter lead to no results. Or, for example, I click on a post and none of the replies come up. In addition, there are plenty of links that don’t work when you click on them. I know it’s not a link issue because when i go to Tweetbot, they work. So, if you want reliability and full use of Twitter, for now, look elsewhere. However, if you want the best Twitter experience on the ipad, look no further..Version: 1.0.100

Not worth the hypeTrying to set up second twitter account stalls and needs force quit. No use to em with jsut one account. Columns dot resize. Very disappointing!.Version: 1.0.82

Nice design, but buggy overallI purchased this app with hopes of replacing TweetBot but unfortunately failed to replace it. This app works great while it works but sometimes fails to refresh the timeline (which can be ‘fixed’ by completely restarting the app), spontaneously restarts the in-line video playback in the middle (and sometimes locks up itself in the video preview interface, with no response to the touch, keyboard input), does not sync timeline position with other iOS/macOS devices, displays wrong picture (or link) when the preview is touched in the timeline. The app does get many bug fixes and features updates (sometimes multiple times a day), but I decided to use the other app while the bugs are polished here. Developer, please fix critical bugs before implementing more features..Version: 1.0.121

Buggy, crashes every timeLooks nice but keeps crashing. Hopefully it improves over time, I’ll keep checking back but too unstable at the moment.Version: 1.1.44

Just not readyThis app is just not ready for consumers. There are simply too many bugs, and I understand that the developer is solo, but really a 5$ price tag, which is a premium for an app, is just too high with how the app is performing right now. I can’t even use the app at the moment because of how bugged the video system is. Everytime I open the app the video just constantly plays in the background without stopping. Hopefully the developer reduces the price and maybe puts in a premium service similar to Apollo, or drastically updates the app because for now this isn’t worth it..Version: 1.0.50

I want to like itI really want to like this app as it is a modern client with the right design goals. However, the current experience is buggy and has bad performance. For example, you cannot easily log into multiple accounts without logging out in the browser, scrolling is often laggy, the app crashes from time to time, and the app east 25% of my CPU all the time. For now, I will stick with Tweetdeck but I hope this app can catch up. It's a new app some hiccups are expected..Version: 1.0.91

Beautiful design but...It’s slow, and unreliable. - Tweets don’t post - Likes don’t always stay liked - No ability to create threaded posts - Viewing likes on your posts takes you to the in-app browser - No list to see all notifications, only Mentions.Version: 1.0.45

Could be greatThis app is fast and powerful, and has some good ideas. I have a couple of issues though though: I’d prefer the ability to choose full-size previews for media - the cropped version means you miss subtitles etc. when scrolling through. Also, the filters only hide selected content - it would be great to be able to show only ‘tweets with media’ as well as ‘tweets without media’, or ‘retweets only’ vs ‘no retweets’, etc. — Really impressive start though..Version: 1.0.135

Not what I was hopingDisappointed as, after seeing this promoted by Apple, I had high hopes. It’s far from a bad app. It’s just not worth £5. It’s quite buggy. An update came out yesterday so maybe a lot of my issues were fixed, but as of today I still have some annoyances. For example, clicking a tweet on the same line as a link opens the link, rather than the tweet. Even if I click nowhere near the link. There’s just lots of these small annoyances that I’d like to have think would have been sorted before charging so much comparatively. Sure, if this was 0.99-2.99, I’d probably not even bother writing the review. But to charge so much there needs to be a big USP (which I don’t really see) and as a minimum it needs to be usable. I’ve had it two days and had 10+ bugs, so I’d argue it’s not this either. Will definitely redownload in a few months to see progress. But for now I’m back on the official Twitter app..Version: 1.0.11

Crashes and overall slowI wish the app was better optimized, it takes a long time to refresh. I also wish swiping to like/retweet was faster and customizable. Dev also likes to complain a lot on twitter about his customer, geez. Maybe if the app was a little better......Version: 1.0.106

No Subscription nonsense!Update: a lot of bugs. This app is unusable. iCloud sync just doesn’t work. The whole tweet details panel and overall navigation needs a deep rethink. I had high hopes for this app but sadly had to delete. Love the app. I was part of the beta testers great to see the finished product. The only reason I didn’t start using this app earlier was the dark mode. I find the dark mode in this app hard to read. I know all black dark modes are the trend but they are difficult to read. That is the only bad thing about the app everything else is top notch..Version: 1.0.112

Not fit for purposePush notifications don’t work Likes/RT are not visible or reflect the numbers correctly Messages are not visible in direct messages until app is closed Don’t bother..Version: 1.0.116

Rapidly improvingThe change log on the daily(!) updates are looong and my complaints (refresh and threading) from two versions ago, which was two days ago, have already been met. Bumped from 2 to 3 stars. I’m glad I stuck with it. Threading is there but still iffy. Sometimes it threads, sometimes it doesn’t, and I don’t know if it’s just really slow or if it stopped working. Manual refresh is also iffy. Head fo head comparison with twitterrific, which is solid in both. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Not ready for prime time. I’m going to stick with it because the developer is improving it daily. Future five star app, I hope. Best feature: multiple columns..Version: 1.0.12

Still far too buggy, can’t recommendI really really want to like this app, but below are just some of the issues I have faced since it first launched and that I still experience today: If you ‘like’ a tweet, the only way for it to appear on the Likes tab is to force-close the app. The feed does not auto-refresh on coming back to the app when it’s running in the background, and it often does not refresh on first launch, either. I cannot for the life of me get the Watch app to work - I always get a spinning circle and then it crashes, ever after reinstalling or following the steps to re-pair it with the phone app. And today, my feed lost the last 24 hours of tweets, all because I rotated my phone to watch a video - the most recent tweets at the top of my feed now are from 1 day ago. Unfortunately this app is nowhere near ready for being sold on the App Store. I hope the developer sticks with it but there are just too many bugs to list here, and a lot of the time it is unusable. A real shame..Version: 1.0.92

I want to love this app so much…The customization of the app easily makes it the best 3rd party client on iOS. However, this app, across ALL platforms, needs some serious improvements before it’s price is justified for the average Twitter user. Some Suggestions & Criticisms: -There is no jump to top button, holding the “new tweet counter” to jump to the top would be a non intrusive fix. -Columns are horrible, on EVERY platform, they’re a horrible idea. They don’t size properly, they themselves are off center, and they ruin the look of the tweet by pushing everything off to the side. -Trending tab is mostly wrong and useless, being able to customize what appears here using filters would be better than a preset group of filters. -Filters tab is basic and could be utilized more effectively. -There is no reason for ‘Muted’ to be its own section, it should be part of Filters or profile settings. -*Link preview doesn’t work half the time, though my understanding is that this is an API issue and can’t be fixed. Overall the app is on a very good trajectory, and I’m very excited to see how it progresses even more!.Version: 1.1.44
