✓ Revision and racially insensitive picture/iconSo I’ve enjoyed playing this game along with others, however during the recent upgrade the creator thought the current change was a grandiose idea. I’m here to tell you, IT WASN’T. To have the game “spades” now being advertised with a picture or artist rendering of what appears to be 70s blacks (which where called spades a not so familiar way of saying n***er), is completely appalling to me and racially insensitive at this point in time. ✓ You’re basically playing against 3 peopleThe game is fun if you don’t play spades. Once you do something the computer hasn’t calculated even your “teammate” will start playing against you. That’s the fun way to play. Try to find a way to use blind nil or bags to win. The algorithm doesn’t apparently know even if you win by 1 you win. Lol. This is a terrible app. I just play it to see the ridiculous things the computer will do to win. Like the whole game the other team played no spades but they had the Ace, King, and 10 of spades. The ad has popped up on my screen several times depicting darker skinned people with tattoos on their faces and large chains around their necks, while sitting in front of a graffitied background. I am not sure the target audience with this sort of ad, but it is quite offensive. I’m not sure who approves apps to be put on this platform but somewhere the marketing team completely missed the mark on this one. For starters this is a card came why would there be a need for 3 male people of color in stereotypical manner be the thumbnail for this CARD GAME? Secondly I saw the advertisement for this game in another game I was playing and it once again displayed a large black man with all the stereotypes you could imagine sitting across from what appeared to be a white female hand . Is this how you choose to market to people? It seems that whoever developed this app has some pre conceived notions of people of color and it’s very negative. I only downloaded this app because I was appalled of the advertisement for this game that came through my other game I was playing. ✓ Bag penalty is crapI feel that the algorithm for the bag penalty is crap. I literally had the same score with my opponent, only have one bag over. I guessed the right amount of tricks and my partner went over 1 trick. We got the 100 point penalty and they didn’t. There is no way in a real game of spades that would happen. ✓ Too many ADS 50% adds…I used the timer to check the time the ads toke to finish. My results are pretty accurate counting the time to switch from game to stopwatch. This games does not have live players only bots. You play one hand and that takes 30-45 seconds. You get an ad 35 seconds. So it take forever to play one game. On top of that you push the X to clear the ad and a download window appears… you hit the X and it goes back to original ad you do many times and you continue to get a down load page. Finally you get back to game OR The AD gets stuck and you have to shut down you phone to get it to work. That toke 2.min and 38 seconds and it still didn’t close. I JUST deleted the app. I don’t mind ads I know the are needed to pay for game’s costs BUT I WANT TO MORE NOT SPEND 1/2 my time watching ads. ✓ This game cheatsSorry, this game cheats. When they want you to lose, they have your partner throw away high cards. For example, the opponent puts out an Ace of Diamond and your partner puts out a King of Diamond. Next round the opponent puts out a Queen of Diamond and your partner puts out an 8 of Diamond. They had lower Diamond cards but chose to throw away the King so you lose the round by getting set. It is totally avoidable, but hey, the games wants you to lose. They do this a lot when you bid nil. The ‘player’ has repeatedly caused us to go from a score of over 300 down to a negative score. It’s devolved into a maddening game in which the same exact few hands are dealt over and over and over again, and the only thing that changes is which team gets an excessive number of high cards and which gets an excessive number of spades. Team One bids on the high cards they have, only to be absolutely overrun with spades from the other team. Then it’s changed in the reverse, Team Two bids on the high cards they have, only to be absolutely overrun with spades from the other team. This routinely results in 15 tricks being bid every hand, and the annoyance & frustration that comes with not being able to win for losing, except when the game is rigged in your favor (ie, when your team has the majority of the spades and the other team has the majority of the high cards). Did I pay for this? Yes, in the sense that I absolutely waited for ads to run their course, and that I sometimes downloaded other games from the same developer. This developer has made money off of my time, attention & downloading other games; I expect at a minimum, a decent game in return.
