✓ Needs some troop control.I enjoyed the game for a few days but then I got stuck on the last castle of the first island. You have no control over your troops or what they target. You eventually get stuck fighting the same troops over an over with no results. Just some slight troop/targeting control would make this game a lot of fun. As it is it just becomes an exercise in frustration. Also, the hero troops don’t do much. They are usually the first to die. It’s fun if you need something to kill a few hours but it’s not a long term game. Hopefully they add some controls to keep if interesting..Version: 0.0.20

✓ Ads GaloreFundamentally a great game if you have time to burn. The art is cute and the characters interesting. Mechanics are alright. However, this game has every kind of money making scheme that they burden users with. And eventually, something’s going to give… my patience. I’m all for season passes, optional ads, a static pop up here and there but I cannot tolerate forced 30-60 seconds plus of immersion breaking video ads. They are the worst kind and rather me appreciating the gameplay, I’m in fear of when the next intrusive ad will be thrown in my face. Sadly, I will be deleting this now. The truth is that I didn’t experience this in my first few hours of gameplay but it’s something triggered to come up when you commit to playing. ✓ Needs a bug fixI was really enjoying it until the unit deployment started being extremely buggy, sometimes the units will just go off by themselves sometimes the commanders won’t leave and other times the units will start moving then stop half way and remain there. ✓ Fun but last update was enough to not recommendThe game is good but I can’t recommend if you’re new. The recent update put level requirements on hero placement and removed their health and attack buffs from the units. I was annoyed with this but I could still use some of my hero so it was ok (even with the greatly reduced health and damage) but then the event came around it’s cool and fun. However the only way to get the hero Leonidas is to pay for him….. I’ve spent like $10 on this game felt like It’s all been fair prices and deals but to get the Leo I have to spend $10 and then play the event… I spent like $3 each and got Odin, Blackbeard and the dragon queen. Now I I have to spend triple AND play to get a similar thing. Atleast give us one for maxing out the event for free or let him drop from the chests just make it a low chance. This and I was on the last keep of the desert are and when I finished it put me back in the middle of the desert area pretty annoyed with that.Version: 0.0.20

✓ HorribleAbsolute worst game I’ve ever played in my life. The graphics and stuff look so promising. Then you get in and see the variety of soldiers and thing “wow a lot of strategy must go into this”. But then you realize there is no strategy to the game. Every level just costs more gold to unlock so it takes longer while you wait for gold to accumulate. What soldiers you use don’t change the game in any way. They all die just the same. You’ll never win a level unless you have hours to sit and wait for gold or unless you do what the game is intended to make you do. What is the game intended for you to do? GET SO DESPERATELY IMPATIENT THAT YOULL SPEND THE MONEY TO SPEED IT UP. I refused to spend a penny and that’s why I was bored out of my mind. Stay away from this god forsaken game. ✓ WAS good. Not anymore.Well, for starters, the artifact system, they’re useless AND rare, they weren’t always like this, a major update did them in. They were previously powerful items with a significant cool down timer, they were a bit op if used in conjunction, but they could’ve tweaked them in a way that weakens their effect if multiple are active, not to mention that you can use them 4 times a day at most in a powerful combo, you want more? Pay up! And the maps are massive, to me I only used them to pass major roadblocks crowded with enemies. Secondly, scaling, they made the enemies stronger and your troops weaker, they also made the amounts required to upgrade your troops to a sufficient levels obscene, if you’re a free player you’d be stuck on a single map (from at least the second region; there are three) for days because there are choke-points that you can’t pass while game is open, the enemy wipes you out before you even reach their frontlines, so you have to rely on offline combat which is atrociously slow. tl;dr Was a good game, not anymore, and I don’t expect to become better for the last year, the developers were more interested in monetizing the game than actually making it playable..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Crashes and glitchesSo the game is “free” to play but it costs about $30 a week to get all of the season passes to win all the extra prizes. The game itself is fun enough to play but as a top 10 player in every weeks challenge and having beaten 96% of the game, I have come across so many glitches and crashes it’s ridiculous. The game provides speed ups and health boosts. Use too many and the game crashes and you lose all your active troops attacking. Abe Lincoln won’t attack bosses. He will just stand there looking away from the bosses. If you want a high score on boss fights just use giants because all of the other troops will die and not get points. In the arena, you can have higher power troops and officers and still lose to a lower player even when using the exact same troops and set up. I have confirmed this many times because you can go in and rematch players you lose to for free. Something in the programming makes you lose anyway so they can advertise for you to buy another hero. I could sit here all day and list off glitches and issues the developer is too lazy to fix but the developer gets paid for that, not me. As someone who has spent a few hundred dollars playing the game I can assure you that you’re better off saving your money. The glitches will ruin the game for you..Version: 2.0.1

✓ Just a Cash Grab Idle game.I have been following Idle Siege for a while now. The game as is now is not worth playing. It has turned into a mockery adding elements. I think the games mechanics of using different hero's and troops was a phenomenal game idea. Instead of reworking troops and adding more hero's, Elements were added. It truly limits the game because all this time I spent upgrading hero's was for virtually nothing when you can only have one activate on element at a time. To put into perspective, I have submitted countless bug reports and ideas whenever I spotted one to help improve the game and that feature is now gone. My biggest flaw with this game is the fact that they changed the price for Ad-Free. 3.99$ used to buy you two weeks and now it only lasts one week. Seeing the game is nearing completion, its a shame seeing this element feature added. It just doesn’t make sense. I can get behind it if it was done properly but it’s just not balanced. All in all, what used to be a neat concept and fun game turned into a cash grab where the Dev’s will try and siphon money any chance they get. I am all for buying in-app purchases but only for games that are worth them. This is not one of them..Version: 1.2.1

The game actually CRASHED in the TUTORIAL, while playing on an iPad and not just a phone. Is this an issue with iOS? ✓ Terrible SupportThere was a bug that prevented me from participating in an event that I purchased a pass for. I submitted a ticket, they confirmed that it was a bug and said they would fix it. I have sank way too much time into this game. It’s overall design is addicting and a great time passer. It’s major flaw is how it goes about micro transactions. I don’t think there is anything wrong with micro transactions in a free mobile game but the are extremely under valuing in game. This biggest example is the ability to pay for no ads. You pay $4 for TWO WEEKS of no ads. Why not just raise the price to $10 and make it last forever. It’s specifically punishes players who don’t drop the game after a couple weeks. So let’s say you pay your precious real life money and buy the no ads subscription. The amount of ads you get to skip are ridiculously low for the price. It seems worth it until you get to world stage 4 and the amount of “free upgrades” your getting are so minimal. ✓ Last update is worseI just updated the game today and none of the troops are targeting barracks. I tried over and over again to get different troops in the rear to go after barracks. Sharpshooters were going after barracks and towers before the update if placed in the rear and now they just try to move up and take out troops. There is also very little content for a game that wants so much money and forces so many ads on you if you want to progress. ✓ Soooo many adverts & crashesThis is a good game but as a free game it becomes almost unplayable. At the start you could watch the adverts to get stuff which you accept as you’re playing for free. But as you move through the levels adverts get pushed onto you without any warning. The likely hood of a crash is very high and is mostly likely to happen…..you guessed it… when the adverts are on. If you have a later device then maybe this won’t be an issue and your device won’t overheat as much as mine does while playing this game, but for me it’s very crash happy. There’s a good game here and the kindle version for kids is great (still prone to a crash but nowhere near as much as iPhone). Hence a reluctant 3 star review..Version: 1.7.1

✓ Forced in-game adsThis has been a great play at your own pace mobile game. Very easy to pick up and play for couple minutes at a time. As of late the game forces in-game ads constantly while doing anything in the game. I’ve never encountered a F2P game with so many ads. Honestly makes the game not fun to play anymore and makes the devs just seem greedy. I’d be happy to pay for no ads but the no ads option doesn’t even say that it’ll prevent forced ads. ✓ Some fixesI’m going to start this off by saying the attack speed for enemy troops is ridiculous..and then the amount of gold needed to level up troops is a bit outrageous. I get it this is a idle type game but I’ve been stuck on levels for days just because my troops get one attack off and die immediately after. I’ve watched two enemy troops take out a whole squad including the four level 30+ commanders and the two enemy troops were the little swordsmen not even a big enemey troop. ✓ Needs minor tweaksAs many have mentioned you can only block ads for 14 days. Also, your gold doesn’t progress to the next siege so if you spend your gems on gold coins and don’t need them all you’ve wasted gems. At the start of every siege you have to watch your guys get slaughtered for at least an hour until you can purchase another upgrade only to watch them get slaughtered until you can buy the next one. It needs balancing properly. I will change this to a 5* when the developers take some time to iron everything out. Also, needs waaaaay more characters. Maybe add some weaknesses for certain troops cause I find myself only using sharpshooters cause they’re the only guys the get the job done..Version: 0.0.18

✓ Great idea poor executionI have tried to persevere with this game, occasional freezes, random restarts, adverts hanging and black screens are a few of its issues. The latest update has caused me to hand in the towel! Now we get adverts at almost every turn, some 5-10 second others 45+ and game still hangs especially after/during adverts which means a restart and you don’t get the advert reward. ✓ Cool concept, a bit overwhelming with adsI really like the idea of the game, but it feels like 1/3 of the screen is taken up with other buttons and menus that are asking my to buy something or watch an ad to get some extra benefit when all I want is to chill and play the game. All the extra stuff is kinda overwhelming and made the game not fun to play after a few minutes. The sound the games makes when you hit a button is also unnerving. It’s like a weird metallic squelch and got unpleasant after about 5 minutes and unbearable after 10. You’ve now ruined the artifact system, and turned it into a greedy cash grab instead of a fun mechanic to help you in tough times. Making them one time use items instead of with charges how they were before is an absolute joke, spitting in the faces of people who spent money on those items before hand. And on top of the destroyed artifact system, you’re greed went insanely further, with a $30 season pass that only lasts 14 days… you really expect your players to spend $60 per month just on your season pass??? ✓ It’s not badPretty fun game but have a few issues that are consistent. When promoting commanders, I always get a “network error” when there’s no connection issue with the phone. No VPN, strong Wi-Fi and also does this on a strong 5g network. Often when opening crates, the game gets stuck on the image of the crate and never opens. I’m forced to close and reopen and have no clue if I received the commander card or not. Also, lately when I’ve spent gems to earn hours of coin collection, I never receive the coins. And several times when spinning the in-game wheel and received a 1 hour coin collection perk, the coins never show up. There’s a handful of other small glitches that get annoying. I’m almost done with the third level and I’m not sure what’s after that if anything. If there’s no additional game play besides the weekly (or biweekly?) side game where you have to defeat 12 bosses, then I’m definitely deleting..Version: 1.2.1

I played this game for a couple of days now and overall I have to rate this a 5/10. Bad news first. Basically you either have to pay to win or watch ads until you bleed to win or else you’re just gonna watch your troops die over and over again. Upgrading troop barely feels like an upgrade, I wish you could set your troops for targeting to make the gameplay feel a lot better. Hero’s don’t feel like a hero character when they get one shot every time. Good news artifacts feel like to use, I like the hero ability’s, events are fun but again pay to win. ✓ Fun but major flawsOverall I have a great time playing this game. I can’t give it more than 3 stars because of how the developers went about the “idle” part of this game. There’s a 2 hour cap on the money gathering and damage dealing for this game, opposed to nearly every other game in this genre having no cap. This isn’t a problem in the first few levels, it’s when you get beyond those few levels it becomes apparent. The little amount of gold you earn per minute combined with the 2 hour cap leads to spending multiple days to get through parts of stages, not even the whole thing. For some people who are able to get on every 2 hours this may not pose a problem but for people like me who work and play these games because I get to see the progress it’s made while in my pocket over the 8+ hours, it’s frustrating and almost a deal breaker. Compounded on that issue is the fact that you can pay to increase the offline time but it’s $4 for only 3 extra hours. Anyone doing simple math can see that buying that 7 times will only get you to 23/24 hours so for the last purchase of another $4 you’d only get 1 hour. $32 for 22 more hours is a ridiculous amount. TLDR: fun for a bit but be prepared to be frustrated by the extremely slow progress in later stages and the expensive micro transactions..Version: 1.0.0

✓ Good concept but really buggyOverall the concept is cool but it seems that this game has not really been tested for bugs because there are so many of them all the time. Sometimes the units glitch and get stuck in a spot, sometimes they don’t even group up and go one by one (and all get destroyed before even reaching the target even if they’re maxed out). Especially in the special event twisted cavern game mode it is extremely buggy, in an idle game you send maxed out units in formation and you see the boss health go down pretty steadily, but as soon as you leave and come back the boss health goes BACK UP and up by 100k more health. ✓ Ads to WinThe concept of the game is quite refined and nice, good graphics, simple and easy gameplay, challenging tactics. The first couple levels (tutorial) is amazing you don’t need ads to progress the match. The issue with this game is, in order to even play it you MUST watch ads. Every match you restart your army progress to 0. Your units will take a painfully long time to even beat the first structure. Your units do close to 0 dmg and they get 1 shot. Essentially to progress, you need to watch ads to get a quick boost in power to even destroy the first structure and enjoy the game. The game also covers the sides of your screen with micro-transaction icons you can’t even clear. Stay far away unless you’re fine with watching ads instead of actual gameplay..Version: 1.9.1

I thought it had decent monetization, I used the ads to get some upgrades here-and-there and the paid stuff isn’t too ridiculous, even if I didn’t spend money on it. ✓ Broken, also buried in adsIt’s a fun concept but on map 2 level 4 my game broke, only one side of my heroes will deploy while the other just sits there and all the units won’t sync up so they just go out in a constant stream and die forever in a endless buggy loop without being able to damage the castle. Besides this game breaking bug, the only thing you’ll be doing in this game is watching ads…. So many ads, but wait…. You can pay to remove ads…. Nope not permanently just for a while, but I guess you could just keep paying over and over to skip ads in an idle game you don’t actively “play”.
