✓ Very sweet, but not quite thereAlba is full of wonderful thoughts on the environment, which in an industry that is all about using huge amounts of energy is refreshing. But it doesn’t quite get there. It is quite awkward to play with unfixed bugs from a year ago. The most obvious is that if you don’t start the game with your device orientated in portrait, the in-game phone image is upside down. Additionally, the game is only in portrait mode unless you use a game controller, I gather. A great pity. I am also thrown by the character’s age. From the story line, she is meant to be twelve, but the character’s size and actions are of a 5 year old, which doesn’t play well with some of the script. It ends up with this strange contradiction of a very small skipping child being allowed to roam free and talk to strangers, untangle birds from plastic, and deal with squirrels in pesticide. So, a pretty game with a good message but very short and doesn’t quite add up..CC HoganVersion: 2.0.3

✓ Good, but needs updates...I think the game has a really great message, it’s very fun, and quite immersive, but unfortunately there are some glitches. One being with the camera controls in game, I can only move the camera at what seems to be a snails pace, so most of the animals I’m trying to identify move before I can get a picture. My next complaint is that I can’t go back into my save, I played the little tutorial part and went through to Tuesday and now when I open the app, it won’t load. I have left the loading screen open for seven minutes before I gave up and have tried over and over again in these past few days. If these things were fixed this game would easily be a four star. (Just because I think it’s a bit short, but surely there will be updates in the future.) :) Edit: I also just remembered that the map glitches for me also, there is a little arrow blip to indicate where you are and where you are facing, but the blip does not properly tell me which way I’m facing so it’s very hard to navigate the island..Boze BozingtonVersion: 1.1.6

✓ I like it but...My iPhone 11 gets too hot to play after only 5-10 minutes, it obliterates my battery life and there is no way to turn off vibration (like when the squirrels are “shouting” for your help for example). ✓ It’s fineI was super excited about this game when I first started playing it, but the game can be completed in less than 4 hours. With the amount of effort that went into the graphics and sounds, I feel like they forgot to actually put any substance into the gameplay. Once you beat the game, they allow you to have a “sandbox” mode, but it’s relatively pointless because everything there is to do is done during the quests. There is absolutely no replay value, and for a game that only lasts 4 hours, that’s a pretty big necessity. This is a game that is definitely not worth paying extra for arcade for, and really should be free on the App Store. When you compare it to any of the other games available for arcade, the effort and content just isn’t there. ✓ Load and Won’t OpenI started playing this game about 3 days ago. I got about halfway through the game, and I was in love. I was even telling all of my friends about the game because I enjoyed the graphics and the adventure, and something about it just made me happy. But then, when I saved my progress and left the game, I was never able to open the app again. I would tap on it, it would load the “Apple Arcade” intro, and then the screen would go black and kick me out. Sometimes it wouldn’t even make it to the Apple Arcade and just kick me out. I tried everything- resetting (regular and hard reset), offloading the app and downloading it, fully deleting the app and re-downloading it, checking my storage to make sure that wasn’t the problem, checking my wifi, everything. And absolutely nothing worked. My subscription is still going strong and I didn’t cancel it, and when I download it on my iPad it lets me play on there. It’s just my phone. I checked to see if it was a compatibility issue, but it wasn’t that either because I have the latest software update and the iPhone 11. I really don’t know what else to do, and I’m really upset because I really was in love with the game and now I have to start all over on my iPad. If I didn’t have this issue, I would’ve given it 5 stars. I’m really disappointed to be honest, because I was looking forward to finishing the game..Irelevant OpinionVersion: 1.1.9

✓ Cute but bugsSo the game is cute but I had to disable gyro controls because every time I try to use the phone the camera/scene would literally flip upside down and everything would be inverted even if I try to bring out my animal guide the scene with a flip upside down so that meant that I ended up having to spend a lot of time manually moving the camera around in order to take a picture which really is slow and frustrating. I think I would enjoy the game more if the motion controls worked. Also I am really not into having to play a game in portrait mode, if three is a way to play in landscape instead it’s not intuitive..EiyameVersion: 2.0.3

✓ I mean it’s goodThe game is great I love the idea of a layer back sort of game where u protect nature but it can be tedious for example u have to take photos of animals which would be ok if the camera angle wasn’t like Alba squatted down with the camera upside down next to her ancle moving it slowly in the opposite direction to the fast moving target. I don’t like the way u walk eg sometimes I wanna move but it turns my perspective instead even tho I use the bottom of the screen, I got very bored of these aspects and had to give up for the day however I came back to it today and found it was more fun once u had more freedom. The only big issue who really make it hard to play is the camera, when you use it, the picture is upside down no matter in which position I put my IPad. ✓ Words are too hard for my daughterAlso the camera is always displaying photos upside down. Very frustrating. Changing my rating to 1 star as this seems to have been an issue for 10 months and still not fixed. And the words are too advanced for young readers. I’m all for challenging them but then to ALSO add Spanish words in the mix is too much for smaller kids. I’m all for learning about other cultures but your not making it easy for kids to follow. ✓ Fun game but limited by poor performanceThe game itself is fantastic. Good graphics, fun story and fun, creative gameplay. The characters are all lovely, and it is genuinely one of my favourite Apple Arcade games. The game does however suffer from quite severe performance issues. The frame rate drops very low, very often, and it makes the phone very, very hot. And this is running on the latest iPhone 12, so frankly, this sort of performance is unacceptable. The game also suffers from bugs, and when I emailed the support team for help, they ignored me. Hopefully with updates, it will at least become a 4 or 5/5, but as it stands, I can only score it a 3..Coolkid4355Version: 1.1.6

✓ Fun but frozen and unplayable past certain pointHad a lot of fun with this game, but when I got near the end addressing the mayor and Paco with all of the petition signatures at the chapel the game freezes and doesn't let me go forward. ✓ It was okay... but disappointedI LOVE the graphics of the game and the whole idea of the game to protect nature, it was really laid back and fun to play. BUT the game was way too short! I finished it in only a couple of hours and by completing all the main storyline tasks I didn’t get a chance to finish side tasks such as replacing the pictures on the boards etc. So I think you shouldn’t able to continue with a main storyline task without first completing one set of side tasks like you should have to complete one picture board before you get a new task. Also my main issue was that it made my new I pad pro overheat constantly and I know it can’t be my device because it ha no technical issues and it doesn’t have enough downloaded data for the system to be overrun or whatever. Also most of the time when I pulled out the phone to scan something, it was almost always upside down so I had to restart the app every time I wanted to take a photo.
