✓ Too many “special events”I used to think it was cute, but now the entire focus is getting items from the never ending special events. Now it’s just a rat race, and I don’t get to just enjoy my pet and my thoughts. I’m working towards a goal of getting things I’ll never actually enjoy because the next day there’s a new item, and the next day a new one, and so on. A special event once in awhile fine, but it’s never ending and I’m finding my mental health actually deteriorating now because literally my only focus is completing goals, not for myself, but because it’s the only way to get the items I’m expected to compete for..CannoVersion: 3.48.0

✓ Unethical High-Pressure Sale TacticsRegardless of how good the app really is, I have decided not to go forward with it after the first five minutes because shortly after hatching the pet, giving it a name, and other things that would naturally attach the pet to me, the app threw a “one-time limited offer for plus” in my face. It was an offer for a 7 day free trial followed by a 43% discount for a yearly subscription (the discounted rate is £40 which is still a lot of money!)- and the offer stated it would be gone if I clicked off the screen. This is a really egregious and unethical method of monetization which is designed to pressure people into making a snap decision to pay in. I would be irritated seeing this from any app, much less one targeted towards vulnerable people. If you are a developer of this app, please know that I understand you need to pay for your staff, development costs, etc. I was prepared to pay a reasonable amount for a subscription if I enjoyed the app on its free tier but this “one-time offer” has put me off just on principle..Random Crossword PlayerVersion: 3.66.10

✓ The new interface is horrible for my AuDHD brainI loved this app and found it incredibly useful (bar the bugs that I reported months ago which still persist because "we're only a small team!"), but sadly the recent updates to the journey system have made it really frustrating and overloading for me use. I'm Autistic with ADHD and really appreciated the calm, organised layout that the app previously used for the journey system as it was clear to navigate and required zero 'menu diving'; the new one is just an extremely colourful, cramped, busy list with journeys stacked on top of each other and incredibly 'loud' and overwhelming. It would be great to have an option to revert back to the old design for those of us who are overloaded by this new one (and it would be even greater to get those persistent bugs I've reported fixed too). I honestly wish I could transfer my plus membership to someone who's going to use the app, because in its new format it just isn't usable for me at all, and believe me, I've tried...Threnody.Version: 3.34.1

So I went back into my bank and it was taken out. Yes, I should’ve noticed at the time. But! Still they shouldn’t have charged me!! ✓ You have to pay for this app to be usableI have used this app every day for the past four months. It is very helpful and I wish I could give it a higher review because I’ve benefited greatly from it, especially with forming habits and routines, and calming down from anxiety. However, this app often causes me anxiety. I have OCD, and when I open the app on random days, all of my goals will be disorganized. I would imagine for someone without OCD, this would be annoying as well, because some goals you specifically want in the morning and some specifically later in the day, and they all get muddled. I have asked the team about this, and they “fixed” this problem by adding a feature to Finch Plus to allow you to organize goals by journeys. I don’t believe it’s fair to have that kind of organizational feature hidden behind a paywall. They have raffles that allow you to have Finch Plus for a month, but what happens when the month is up? It’s the principal of the matter. This app has actually caused me more anxiety, especially in the morning when I start my day. Its especially upsetting when I spent the previous day organizing them, and then the next day they are disorganized again. Or I’ll go a few days with all my goals in the right spot, and randomly on a day where I’m very busy, they’re all misplaced again. The whole point of this app is to have goals. I probably have about 30 goals meant to be completed throughout my day. Having my first goals to be halfway to the bottom is incredibly frustrating, and has often sent me into a panic attack. I know that’s a ridiculous reaction, but I have OCD. I’m debating deleting this app all together because of how frustrating this has been for me. And having the feature that would prevent this anxiety behind a paywall is unfair. This is a feature that would simply make the app usable..BarbarakucharVersion: 3.28.3

✓ Changed a LOTI used to have the app and i loved it but ended up needing storage and having to delete it. i re-downloaded it today and noticed how much everything’s changed. the app is advertised as if it’s free, which it definitely used to be, but now i’ve noticed you can’t do as much without paying for plus. one example is the goals. you used to be able to basically go through any list and customise it however you want. now you only get suggested and tough days, and you can’t even change the icon. i used to use the app mainly for the goals and used the lists to help me pick them, now i can barely do that anymore. also you only get the option to pay a pretty big amount for the whole year, which i can’t afford and a lot of children who may use this app definitely can’t afford unless their parents buy it for them. i’ve tried to see if there’s a monthly option but there isn’t, and it wont even let me do the free trial and i know when i downloaded it last time i didn’t use it so that’s annoying. i used to love the app and it used to really motivate me, but i don’t see it doing that anymore. a bit disappointed really..Imunkn0wnx0xOVersion: 3.66.3

✓ Amazing app- how do I change colour back??First up to date modern mental health app. Was so happy when it asked what pronouns my bird will use :) Also the advice and help it recommends is incredible. I absolutely recommend this if you’re struggling. I’ve tried many apps before but this is the one app I can actually see myself keeping. Other apps are overly positive and unrealistic Update: I randomly got the option to change the colour of my bird to blue red and yellow I think, I chose blue but I really want to go back to white but I can’t figure it out. ✓ New UpdatesI opened up the app yesterday to find that it had been automatically updated with no notification about any changes going to be made. It is also hard to navigate with the new update as nothing is easy to find to do any reflections. It would be nice to be notified when a nee update will automatically happen and when it does for a guide in the app showing where everything is and how to get to them. ✓ Fun app, could use some improvementsI got this app to cheer myself up and connect with friends via a cute little bird, and to that end, this app is really awesome. The personal reflections, goal setting, and overall aesthetic of the app are great. That being said, there are a few things about the user experience that could be improved. This app has a great library of grounding exercises and guided breathing techniques that I often use to calm myself down when I’m anxious or dissociating. However, these can (as far as I’ve seen) only be accessed through the “first aid” tab in a menu that only appears on the main screen of the app. This would be fine if there weren’t so many screens to go through before finally arriving at the home page of the app. There’s the regular opening screen, a quote/question, a pop up that asks you to rate your mood, and even the occasional “event” reminder that you have to get though to even access the home page. With no way to skip any of these preliminary screens and no other way to access the “first aid” tab, it can be very stressful to have to navigate through all of these pages when I’m already anxious and stressed. I think just adding a simple, clearly visible shortcut on the FIRST page you see that can take you to the “first aid” library would be a simple and effective way to solve this problem.
