However, as of the the start of this year, my Finch ‘Jinnie’ has turned one year old. From the colourful designs, cute customisation and reflections, this app is just what I needed. The app combines previous popular methods of staying on track in life including diary reflections and todo lists with the act of taking care and strengthening your bond with your pet. ✓ Brilliantly designed app for mental healthUnlike many of the other apps I’ve tried for mental health, I’ve been using Finch consistently for seven months. As someone who has anxiety and is neurodivergent, I find it extremely helpful for getting through my to-do list each day, including all the really tedious self care tasks. The design is really cute and clever - it feels like a game without getting you sucked in for hours at a time. It incorporates all sorts of features including mood tracking, journaling and meditation tools, and mental health first aid techniques for working through panic attacks etc. I use the free version and still have access to a huge range of feature. 100% recommended!.Sarah_JMVersion: 3.28.3

✗ Unethical High-Pressure Sale TacticsRegardless of how good the app really is, I have decided not to go forward with it after the first five minutes because shortly after hatching the pet, giving it a name, and other things that would naturally attach the pet to me, the app threw a “one-time limited offer for plus” in my face. It was an offer for a 7 day free trial followed by a 43% discount for a yearly subscription (the discounted rate is £40 which is still a lot of money!)- and the offer stated it would be gone if I clicked off the screen. This is a really egregious and unethical method of monetization which is designed to pressure people into making a snap decision to pay in. I would be irritated seeing this from any app, much less one targeted towards vulnerable people. If you are a developer of this app, please know that I understand you need to pay for your staff, development costs, etc. I was prepared to pay a reasonable amount for a subscription if I enjoyed the app on its free tier but this “one-time offer” has put me off just on principle..Random Crossword PlayerVersion: 3.66.10
