✓ Boring me outWell this is the reason why I put 3 stars it’s because I have played games like it and they are all soo fun but when I saw shining Nikki I thought that looks fun so I asked my two daughters if they would like to play and they said YESSSSS but after 15 minutes they came to me and said I’m bored so said why they said because you can’t do anything on it and we don’t understand it then they gave it to me I played it for a bit it was fun but I sort of agreed with them..Version: 1.30.0
✓ My experience on shining NikkiMost of my summer has been spent playing this fun filled game, and I enjoyed the experience. However, I do wish there were more skin tones to include the different people that will be playing this game. In addition, I would also like more makeup items to flatter the darker skin colors, and curly hair options (so that every type of player can feel included and appreciated in the game). Shining Nikki is an amazing game, but with these updates; it will become even greater, by highlighting the many hair textures and skin colors of this world. In addition to all these updates, adding other body types instead of all the characters having the same figure as Nikki, will expand and acknowledge other players. ✓ Server & Progress Disappeared But now there Back.I have been playing this game for almost a year now and have spent almost over $500 on the game for the event and clothing’s that won’t be coming back but the server I use called CLOUD is GONE and my PROGRESS GONE?!?!?? ✓ It’s an ok gameThe game looks pretty and all and I’ve played it for over a month, but the English translation is so lacklustre and story is just written so poorly that I had to finally quit playing out of frustration. Please, please, please edit your dialog, the writing just doesn’t fit and completely pulls you from ever enjoying the story. This game would really benefit from having a person with a full grasp of the English language and knows a little bit about writing an engaging story to read through the games dialog and make the appropriate changes. My WiFi is great so this is definitely on your half, it is also clearly a rip-off version of Love Nikki. I mean, every detail is nearly the exact same. ✓ Cool, but compared to the OG, it could use some work.I was a big fan of the original, and after downloading this, I have some opinions. •The animation and everything is great, I find it really cool that you moved to 3D animation, and the models are really high quality, but you still kept using 2D art like in the original game. •One thing that I don’t like though is the story. It’s really confusing, especially if you didn’t finish the first game. I think you should add a mode where you can just play the levels without the story going on, so players who don’t particularly care about the overarching plot can play without it in the way, just enjoying the mechanics. An idea of how you could do this is, include all the levels, have a small description of the character you’re going against with their sprite, a snippet about them, their personality, and what style of clothing they specialize in. That way, you still understand who you’re going up against without going through 10 minutes of dialogue. •Going off my last idea, I had to delete the game because it took up too much space on my phone. If you implemented this mode into the game, without all the dialogue, voice acting, and extra stuff needed for the story to take place, you could have a version of the game that many more people that don’t have the storage to hold the full game could enjoy. ✓ FrustrationWhile the game has many good points, and I enjoy a lot of it, the main premise of the game (collecting clothes) has been ruined by the company’s cash grab. It’s basically impossible to complete any of the event clothing sets without spending money. In the last Nikki game, I was comfortable occasionally purchasing one of the monthly cards because it was worth it and I loved the game. Sometimes it was hard to complete sets without spending, but usually you could complete most of the set f2p, and sometimes even all of them if you planned right. If you want to even attempt to complete an event set now it’s basically impossible to complete without getting a gem or privilege card. And sometimes even that isn’t enough. If you’re comfortable paying upwards of 20$ a month to have the full experience? Then this is the game for you. My frustration however has peaked. I think I’ll be staying away until they start making options for completing past event sets (in a way that doesn’t evolve paying an unreasonable amount of money)..Version: 1.5.1
✓ Its a fabulous game with a great storyline but..I was very close to giving 4 stars but not quite yet. i love this game, the graphics, clothing quality when dressing, the story and just everything. i enjoyed this game the very minute i got it yet ive been playing for a few days and only encountered 4 dressing up sessions. When i saw good reviews i immediately thought it would be a fabulous game with as much text as dressing up. it was alright but hadnt had many sessions of getting changed as id wished. im not allowed to choose what i like even though i have been playing for so long- mentioned later. i wish i could choose what I want to wear and not whag the game makes me. i also wish the tutorial was not as long as id like to get on and explore myself- i have still to press all of the buttons that the game wants me to press even though ive been playing for so long and i get the gist already. i would have liked to explore without instructions- possibly a help button if i get stuck later on. other than these issues that i have put, this game is great and i will recommend only to people who enjoy interactive games, not so much to friends who enjoy dressing up to reading stories/interaction. thank you for reading this review, i hope this gets seen. have a wonderful day 💕.Version: 1.22.0
✓ OK gameI got the game because of the ads. It’s pretty but it’s definitely not focused on makeovers or styling. That part is only 10% of the game. The game is just aimed at whales who are willing to spend money on high-quality and high-ranking outfits that are only available through in-app purchases. I wouldn’t call this a game. ✓ It’s Okay….So this game is definitely very fun and enjoyable, but the tutorial is dreadfully long, it took me like fifteen minutes to actually read what they were saying until I just started randomly tapping to get it over with, that may just be me wanting to actually play the game but I think it still was way too long, especially for someone who has played love Nikki and knows where most of the stuff is and what it is. I also feel the game is just way more boring, I mean there’s hardly a difference in color and style for the clothes you first get and I feel the game focuses more on the story aspect and not the styling, since the story part of the stage is extremely long and it doesn’t tie into the styling battle ( unlike love Nikki ) part, and when I played the first set of stages I had to use the same set for all of the stages! ✓ It was good while it lastedI was obsessed with this game- It was fun, interesting and a cool concept. The game had a lot more story than I originally thought. Though there were times where I had gotten a concept or a dress but it never showed up in the areas where I would use them. There was also a time where the game put me back at the beginning where Nikki asks your name. I had to fight my phone in order to get my progress back and then it was fine for a couple of months. I had gotten all the way to lodden hotel and met Mercury and Nikki was acting weird- I couldn’t move on cause I was not strong enough. Well one day i logged on and it had Niki ask me my name again, this time nothing worked. It could have been the fact that I was using a guest account but who knows? I haven’t been playing the game due to the fear of getting far in the process only to lose that progress. Over all this game is pretty cool just be careful..Version: 1.8.0

✓ Lots of Components & Character ChangesI recently discovered this sequel to Love Nikki and was excited to play it. However, upon starting it, there were a few things I noticed that I didn’t particularly like about the game. Primarily, I found the different game play components as far as accessing multiple stages (solo and team) at one time can be confusing. There is also the matter of being able to obtain needed pieces to specific clothing items that is not clear. Secondly, as a ongoing love Nikki player, I was extremely disappointed in some changes to the character. In particular, Momo in the original game had always been mentioning “fish” but in the new game it now mentions “BBQ,” which I find to be strange and wonder why this was changed when it was greatly emphasized in the prior game. The other matter may be more of a personal opinion. In the original game, I envisioned Nikki’s character to be more of a soft spoken and thoughtful individual whereas the new game contradicts my previous perception of the character. In the newer game, the commentary by Nikki paints a different picture of her being more extroverted and outgoing than her prior demeanor. Aside from these factors, I am enjoying playing this game. In terms of the game, I wish the 3D version of Nikki could have taken on a more animated form since it feels like there is a great contrast between the beautiful 2D plot line and story animations and the more lifelike Nikki..Version: 1.3.0

✓ A messy gameThere’s so many in game pop ups and menus, the games plot doesn’t make a lot of sense and the initial game play is super lack lustre, with only a few unlocked clothing options it feels like it doesn’t matter what you dress her in. The story is confusing and the dialogue options seem like they have no impact on where the story goes. I love the games aesthetics but it’s just too convoluted. Not to mention how much space this game takes up on my phone, it would be so much more enjoyable if the interface was simpler and would probably run a lot smoother. ✓ Not that good 😓I got this app because I saw the ad and you probably did to, it’s honestly nothing like the ad. the ad shows 4 people versing each other to style different outfits for different occasions, which I thought would be great. But then I got the app 🥖 ( btw the way you had to log in was already to much like how it asked for your email and phone number and gave you a password which I fill is unnecessary if your not interacting with online players. it took such a long time to load ) 🥖 and I started playing but it soon turned in to a story like episode but not inappropriate and less interactions which was straight out boring. ✓ Great game with connection errorsI love this game. I really do. The art and graphics are gorgeous, there is so much you can do in it, and so many upgrades from previous Nikki games. My only issue are the endless connection errors, and it’s such a huge issue it prevents me from enjoying the game. Sometimes I’m unable to stay connected long enough to do even 1 thing in the game. I’ve tried “repair,” I’ve contacted support with no news, I’ve deleted and re-downloaded the game and local resources multiple times, but the connection to the server is still terrible. Sometimes, rarely, the game will stay connected and work, but more often than not, it doesn’t. And this is not a new issue. It’s been going on since I first downloaded the game several months ago. I’ve lost days on the monthly cards I purchased because sometimes nothing in the game will load. I know I’m not the only person with this problem, and I keep hoping it will be fixed. ✓ Fun but taxingI love shinning Nikki very much, maybe even more so than love Nikki, though my only complaint with this game is that there is not a function to reset the levels of your designer reflections to get material back. Similar to how you can do that with concepts. I really wish this could be implemented because it takes a lot of time and effort to fully max out a reflection, only for an event to come and present an even better DR than the one you just maxed out. Then you’re just sitting there in disappointment because now you have to do it all over again. It does get frustrating too when you end up using a echo on upgrading the DR stats only to find out you can awaken it. (Might just be me being dumb but I’ve accidentally done it and now regret it. Though I was a newer player so I didn’t realize how important they were, maybe make it clearer to newer players). But yeah, overall a good game just wish for a way to get stuff back so that you can use it to upgrade better designer reflections..Version: 1.15.0

✓ Fun, with some caveatsI can’t, in good conscience, give this higher than three stars, for reasons I’ll outline below. I can say I’ve been enjoying playing, it’s been cool to see this game at its infancy. I’ve been playing Love Nikki forever and it seems impossible to collect all the suits. Since this is so early on, you actually have a chance. I also enjoy the task functionality, there are a lot of elements and way to improve your characters talents, which provides more options to keep playing. Some negatives: if you have little patience, which I often do, you will STRUGGLE with this app. Like I said, it’s in its infancy and it is buggy beyond belief. I can get about 5 minutes max before it crashes, provides a “poor internet connection” message, and I have to restart the app for the billionth time. If you’re familiar with Love Nikki, then you will be quite familiar with all of the Top-Up, in app purchasing elements of Shining Nikki. Ah yes, Shining Nikki is just as, if not more, greedy as Love Nikki and will try to milk you for a much money as possible for as little as possible. While you COULD collect every suit, good luck doing so without coughing up major cash. While I don’t personally mind spending a little money to support an app I enjoy, it is astounding how little you will get for the money spent (ie, literally spending money to gamble for suits). Regardless, if you can ignore the glaring flaws, you will have a fairly good time with it..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Way too much storage spaceI kept this game for a long time and deleted many other of my apps and photos to conserve storage space for it. Now the app has taken 8.6 GB of my storage and when I tried to sign in to my app, but message on the app said “your device needs at least 2.5 GB more storage to download and unzip the complete game files. Please clean up some space and try again.” I don’t have enough storage and I do not want to get rid of the few apps and photos I have left on my device. I know you need a lot of space so you can put a lot in this app like the 3D graphic details and cool features, but this is getting way too much. Not many people have devices that can contain this much storage space and so this app can only be enjoyed by the few who have tons of space on their devices. I was sad that I could not get into my app anymore because it suddenly requested more storage space and I think I’ll have to delete it. I hope someday you can find a way to make this app or other apps use up less storage space. This means if you loose your Facebook/apple/google account, or decided to delete it, you will loose you entire shining Nikki account, and all the 100’s in cash you’ve spent. ✓ It’s good, it could be better…There’s only three things that are keeping me from giving this game a full five stars, the outfit crafting system, designers reflection systems and bonding with Nikki. Now the crafting I’d let slide, if it weren’t for the fact that sometimes you have to go to at least three to four different stages and have to sweep multiple times just to get enough of what you need just to complete one item. The designers reflection system is honestly a lot at once; upgrading levels, ranking up to increase score, upgrade any passive skills you have, upgrade the ‘Call of Reflection’, equip any concepts you find and upgrade those while you’re at it. Now, this isn’t my biggest complaint, but why do I need to bond with Nikki? It’s not even a total necessity when completing stages, so why? If I were rating this game based purely on pretty the clothes are, I would no doubt give it five stars; but as much as I still like the game, I can’t give it a higher rating simply because of how pretty everything is..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Good game, except for the bugsThis game is everything I could've wanted out of a Nikki game. I have no complaints about the game play, other than that sometimes it's difficult to figure out where to go within a menu. I will likely just adjust to it over time though. I do however have several complaints regarding bugs. One specifically revolves around the Metal Style coat & its recolor Blazing. These items will not render in game and will cause other items to be removed if anything is added after adding the coat. It also makes the battle interface refuse to load anything else on the outfit, so while I'm getting a good score as if I was wearing appropriate clothes, Nikki's model shoes her basic gown and slippers. Another annoying bug is that when I try to download the resource pack (which has now been going for around 5 hours, about 3 of which were without leaving the app once) it simply stops at 2.4G and refuses to download more. There's also a bug which can be fixed by restarting the app where if something has to load in, the loading icon will not go away, no matter what part of the game I go into. Personally I think this app could've used a few more months of play testing and bug fixing before release..Version: 1.0.1

Recently we've had anniversary, new double SSR, new UR, non-returning double SSR, and now a new UR BACK TO BACK! ✓ Indifferent & Cash-Hungry BusinessThe company behind this game have proven time and time again that they do not care about their global players. People have been asking for well over a year for the event pacing to slow down, and things are just getting worse and worse. This is especially bad as the game is already incredibly enough to begin with, with certain events costing WELL over £100 to complete if you don’t have enough in-game currency. But when they put 4 or 5 of these events back-to-back with no breaks, it shows exactly how they think of their global players - Brainless piggybanks. It’s incredibly jarring in comparison to how the Chinese and Taiwanese servers are treated, with fixes and compensation frequently given out when players are unhappy. As a company, this behaviour is deplorable and inexcusable. There is no reason for it other than greed, they can’t play ignorant as people have been complaining about this exact problem for so long. ✓ Lots of fun, beautiful fashion but too costly.I can say without I doubt that I love Shining Nikki. It’s everything that I have ever wanted in a fashion mobile game. Beautiful clothes, beautiful UI and engaging. I would have given it 5 stars but the pace at which events are released makes it very hard for free to play players to participate in many events. You. Any keep up with these events by earning in-game currency without paying for them with real money. So I’ll give it 3 stars for now. ✓ I wish for simpler times….So I’ve been playing SN since it first released globally and I loved it. The graphics, the interesting battle mechanics (compared to Love Nikki), the story and suits But… right now it’s a mess. For some reason Paper has been pumping out event after event and it’s way too much. It’s just ridiculous. Yes I know the events (unless stated otherwise) will get a re-run but it’s still crazy. Not to mention certain events are related to certain story chapters but we can’t play them right now. The Lilith Devil event right now is related to chapter 12 and only up to chapter 8 is playable? We all want some breathing room! The only way to complete each event is to fork over a ridiculous amount of money which some people can’t do. I remember when it was first released and we got an event and there was a few weeks before any other UR/SSR event was planned. Now they are back to back. The reason is most likely money or the desire for global to catch up to the other servers which have been out for years or both! If they do want to make up catch up, releasing a new chapter would be what users would want more rather than another event. ✓ Fix the event scheduleSo there isn’t anything wrong in terms of bugs, storytelling, gameplay, etc (although there is a bit of orientalism if that is important to you!) however the pacing of ur events is becoming ridiculous. when the game first started out, it was paced at 1 ur event every 2 months, and now we barely get a month in between each ur event. last month, we got an ur event rerun, then an announcement for a new ur event, then a collab (which don’t get reruns by the way), then ANOTHER ur event, it’s hard to get ur sets you want even if you save during the breaks and spend actual money on the game. this is NOT how this should work and unless you’re willing to pay an insane amount of money on pretty 3d clothes just don’t even bother downloading at this point. the company has made it clear they do not care about their fan base at all.Version: 1.31.0
✓ Terrible P2W schedulingThe events scheduling is too p2w… I know that as a f2p player that I have to miss out on events to be able to complete the events I really want but recently it’s getting out of hand. The other players are all complaining about this schedule too on twitter yet you guys do nothing to address this. ✓ Not worth itI played this game for a week. The user interface is kind of confusing. There’s too many kinds of tokens to keep track of. The investigation aspect of gaining clothes is the most annoying thing. Basically you have to sit and stare at your screen for 30 sec about 20 times before you can get your item and it is so annoying. You have to party $10 dollars to be able to skip this perpetual loading screen and I’m sorry but that’s basically spits in the face of its players. Long time Love Nikki players know paper games is not above forcing players to spend money on the game but to make it intentionally boring unless you pay $10 is a new kind of low. I have spent some money on Love Nikki because that game is fun and I have been playing it for a year or so now. ✓ Even better than Love NikkiThis game is great, so many different aspects to it and it’s easy to earn currency quickly but I have been having serious problems progressing in the game as it crashes after a while of playing pretty much every time I open it. It may be that my iphone 7 has its own software/hardware issues but currently these crashes are severely impacting my game experience. Obviously the incredible game development comes with a lot of data and I guess that means some devices can’t handle it. ✓ Poor Performance and Bad Event SchedulingThis game has such potential - the models and clothes are beautiful, with so much detail! The story is interesting and engaging. But the game is brought down by bad scheduling and a complete lack of optimization. The game takes up 13 GB on my phone right now and that’s without all resources downloaded - I have PC games that take up less space. The game is clunky to play and optimization on iPad is abysmal - I can’t even get through dailies on my iPad without multiple crashes and restarts (My iPad meets the system requirements listed in the App Store). The loading times are LONG, performance is not good. I’ve played since day one and the event schedule has always felt rushed but recently has gotten really bad. Running some of the most expensive event formats back to back to back. Very few reruns of old events. This feels especially bad given how poor the game’s performance is. ✓ Alright - different to adsI downloaded this game because I wanted a fun styling game with freedom of clothing but I was overwhelmed with story information as soon as I opened the app. I love story games - but I found that this one tried to mix a complicated storyline with styling and it didn’t work for me. I didn’t play much of it, but the bit I did play had no actual styling - you just put on whatever the game told you to put on. I don’t know if this gets better the further you get into the game. If you’re looking for a game with pure styling I would suggest Covet Fashion, but the story of this game has potential - the devs just tried to squeeze two game genres into one game. ✓ Excited for improvements (get rid of fat talk)Really love the 3D art and interacting with Nikki, but the mechanics definitely need some work. Instructions for clearing levels are pretty unclear and the hints tend to cause more confusion than anything else. Creating a more clear and concise number of game mechanics rather than having 20 that no one really knows what they do will greatly benefit this game. I’ve been a fan of Love Nikki for a long time and look forward to seeing improvements on this new game. Just wanted to add that there are a lot of weird weight comments in game from both Nikki and other characters that are pretty uncomfortable and stray into the eating disorder realm, especially because the characters are already so thin. ✓ Logged out automaticallyI’ve had this game for a few months. I’ve had Love Nikki for 4 years already. And 3 months ago I came across this game and thought it would be fun. I’ve had periods where I didn’t play Love Nikki for months on end even a whole year. And when I went to play it again, I was automatically logged out of my account which wasn’t a problem because I just signed in with Facebook and I got to play like any other time and enjoy it. BUT with this game. I recently stopped playing it for a few weeks to a month, and I went to log on and it wasn’t logged into my account. It didn’t bother me much at all because both games I’m connected to Facebook. So I went to sign in through Facebook. And it literally made me start all over again with tutorials and everything. I lost everything I earned. And yes I did have myself connected to Facebook with that account. It just deleted all my progress. I’d only recommend this game if you’re a child and play games all day on your phone or whatever 24/7. ✓ I hate to do thisFirst off I’m going to start by saying I do love this game. I play every day, and it’s clear that a lot of effort and care goes into the clothes and artwork. HOWEVER, at this point I cannot recommend it to new players, unless they’re willing to fork out hundreds, possibly thousands, to attempt to catch up. The Global server released after some other servers, and it appears that Paper games is desperate to get us caught up to there schedule. This means that they’re pushing out paid event after paid event, sometimes with not even so much as a day between events to give players a chance to recuperate spent premium currency. The game is fairly generous with giving this out, but that doesn’t matter when there’s continually events asking for it to be forked over. There’s a large outcry of players asking to please slow down, which has thus far been ignored. So unfortunately if they won’t listen to us on their official channels we will have to hit them where it seems to hurt them most; affecting potential sales with truthful reviews. There’s also talk on the official discord that Paper is getting people to translate their game for them and not even paying them appropriately too, which when combined with the blatant milking of the international server and their huge profits, it’s frankly insulting. I tried to get the hang of the storyline when talking to Helz I think it was back in Flowerland about Designers Reflection but the random dreams Nikki’s getting then just waking can get so tedious aswell as having to do the battles when just trying to do a simple task like trying to enter the Ark or something like that? The characters make no sense too like why did the blonde dude want to kidnap my cat then just put me in a hotel like nothing had happened?! 😂 I do like the character designs, voice acting and the dressing up part but other then that it just makes no sense and it’s just the same thing all over again with characters voicing useless dialogue leaving with more questions then answers, nonsensical and random conflict to the point where a lady wanted to shoot my protagonist for no reason, battle this, battle that, go to a random world.
