HitMeal Calorie & Food Tracker for Positive User Reviews

Good app…. ButVery good app, but I’m unable to scan any barcodes with my iPhone 14 max pro. Always to blurry and doesn’t recognise the barcode..Version: 1.33

FlexibleDoesn’t force me to eat a minimum amount of calories and is fine with me setting an underweight goal which other apps do not~.Version: 1.27

So far amazingOnly real complaint is I have been trying to manually write in the nutrition and it never lets me do a decimal (for e.g 1.5). It has been a little frustrating, other than that it is great!.Version: 1.23

Like it!I do like the app , i use it since the beginning of this year to track my calorie and mostly protein intake. There is a thing I would add to to have it perfect ! When we have the breakfast , lunch titles , it shows the calorie intake for each of them , but not the amount of protein , fats and carbs eaten on this particular meal. I am tracking my calorie intake and proteins and I would love to see my protein for each meal. Now before logging the lunch for example I have to check the protein for breakfast and see the difference from the total . I hope that make sense 🙈it does in my head.Version: 1.34

Calories burnedHi I cannot seem to get my steps to automatically link up and it add my calories burnt. I have to manually put this daily. Other than that great app.Version: 1.24

Good first impressionsLove it so far. You do not need to pay for the subscription btw - they hide the x in the top right. So far it’s been fantastic, very well designed and a pleasure to use. Shame on you tho devs for hiding the ‘x’ on the subscription fee screen - y’all should take a shower.Version: 1.21

I like it but…I like it but I really wish they not only provided the remainder of nutritional information (fiber for example) but I also wish they had a broader more simple way of tracking your measurements. It’s extremely confusing how they require you to put each unit in either oz or FL oz when this does not apply to all food. Sometimes it’s grams, cups etc. it’s unnecessarily complicated..Version: 1.27

HOW COULD IT GET ANY BETTERI just started working out and weight lifting consistently two weeks ago for my weight gain journey. And I simply wanted a tracker for my calories to assure I’m consuming enough to really gain weight along with lifting. I saw this app with such a cute icon btw. AND ITS MORE THAN I EVER WANTED. It tracks EVERYTHING, your water consumption, & lets you to pick the foods you’ve eaten down to the serving & BRAND! It even gives u recipes along with the meal suggestions and meal plans. And then even makes a grocery list for you to shop for everything you’ll need for the week for these meals. This is EXACTLY what I needed. Really dope app.Version: 1.18

Love the AppThis app is everything I have been looking for!! After my free trial I am moving to a one year plan!! I love the meals in the clean eating plans and the fact that I can log my meals and see how many calories I have consumed daily is absolutely amazing!! This helps me know how many calories I should burn in my workouts too! I would Def recommend to everyone on a weight loss journey! Also I think it saves me the cost of getting a dietician too👍🏽👍🏽.Version: 1.8

Water reminder ideaHey i’ve had this app for a while now and i wanna say i love it. If you’re considering wether or not to pay i would 100% recommend getting it too. i was skeptical about it at first but it’s a really easy app that keeps you on track. One thing i wanna add is possibly adding a water reminder notification. I’m busy all day and often lose track of time and i feel like a water reminder would help me get more water in when im lost doing work. Overall a great app though💯.Version: 1.30

Apple WatchWould be a perfect app if there was a Apple Watch add on.Version: 1.24

FODMAPSHi, I am considering HitMeal as the app to track meals that my clients will be eating. I did notice coloured dots next to each ingredient, does mean your App recognises FODMAP foods? Thank you..Version: 1.15

Love it!I have nothing bad to say about it! It’s so easy to track food, water, weight and activity. I am so thankful that it’s so affordable. I had the free version of MyFitnessPal, but they kept restricting things to try to get people to pay for the subscription.. I finally found this app, and it’s been so easy to stay on track!.Version: 1.28

Outstanding app! This is what i was looking for and i will be happy to pay for it, good job guys! Great intuitive design so special applause for UI UX designers..Version: 1.23

I love this I think you will love it tooI love this I think you will love it too.Version: 1.11

Barcode sometimes doesn’t scanThe app is nice and simplistic, which is why I have the year subscription. It’s frustrating when barcodes won’t scan, which has been about 20% of my experiences so far on Lean Cuisines and other frozen dinner meals. You have to pull the camera farther away than you would expect, and easy scanning is the reason why I picked this app over MFP or others, so I wish it was tweaked a little..Version: 1.34

AwesomeLove it.Version: 1.11

Okay not greatThings I Like and Dislike 1. Like: You can scan a barcode so the app automatically inputs the nutritional info; and it’s recognized almost everything I have scanned Dislike: once it’s scanned in it defaults to “serving” but you can’t see what the original serving is so you have to then look it up again next time you want to input the food, so if you don’t remember what a serving is then it’s difficult to log it accurately. 2. Like: you can save foods as your favorites Dislike: the favorite list becomes long and no way to sort it easily 3. Like: it can connect to Apple iPhone or watch data for pedometer to track steps and “burned” calories Dislike: it’s not always accurate so I haven’t been sure why it’s different on the app compared to the pedometer 4. Like: you can track macros Dislike: you have no control over macros aside from inputting your gender, weight, activity level, and weight loss goal. Dislike: the app has me having a goal for macros of 114g carbs and 189g protein and 43g fat. I could never reach this goal while only eating 1360 calories AND looking up a 200g protein diet is usually reserved for 220 pound weight lifters (which I am not.)..Version: 1.24

So good! The best calorie counting/weight tracker app I’ve ever found. Very much worth the paid for version, there’s so many things unlocked that are useful and positive for me wanting to lose weight. Track food, exercise, water, weight, even different plans like IF, vegetarian, keto etc. recipes galore it’s brill. The absolute only negative I have to put (otherwise it’d be a 5 star) is that it imports steps from the Health app, which is good, but doesn’t take the steps off as calories. That’s my literal only bugbear, otherwise it’s perfect..Version: 1.21

Great App & Would Definitely RecommendI love this app already and I’ve only had it for only 2 days. Much better than MyFitnessPal. Only thing I wish is the meal plans were more in depth with portion sizes and recipe instructions. Also wish there was a weight loss meal plan option. But for the most part, the meal plans stay in a good caloric range for someone on a calorie deficit. Just wish there was a meal plan specifically labeled for weight loss/calorie deficit..Version: 1.34

VonBest app for weight loss iv ever tried. It’s not so Americanised so it recognises Australian foods which is fantastic. Iv lost 3k so far and loving it. Was on weight watches app and lost nothing. Counting calories is heaps better than counting points and it teaches you more about what calories consumed in every day foods. Loving it!.Version: 1.16

Good appHitmeal is an excellent app that helps users to calculate their daily food intake with a personalized meal plan. The app is easy-to-use and offers a variety of healthy options for meals. Besides, it provides users with various diet plans which one can choose according to their preferences, making it a great app for individuals who want to adopt a healthy lifestyle..Version: 1.24

I like it 😀I’ve never counted calories before and I’m only after a guide to my day, I’m 2 days in and I find it really easy to navigate. There’s a few things I’d like to change. Eggs - medium/large and number instead of grams. What is a ‘cup’ size? I’d that an American cup? Fasting goal - I’d like to be able to change those hours. Overall I like it 😀.Version: 1.28

Calories1 day in the app and love it but the calories aren’t exact. Eg: protein chips clearly states on the packet it’s 140cal but the app says 120cal. Other than that no complaints. This app is great..Version: 1.23

Better than my fitness palI used my fitness pal in the past but it just wasn’t working for me. It was extremely expensive and the information wasn’t accurate. I found this app downloaded it and I already love it 10x more. It is extremely easy to use and I love how it shows tbe balance kcal information!.Version: 1.34

Awesome app ♥️I love this app and very easy to use . Only downside is you don’t have the option for egg white or egg yolk intake. My breakfast contains of 3 eggs but only one egg yolk and I can’t record the right amount of calories because it only calculates 3 whole eggs . All and all it’s a very good app..Version: 1.22

3 things I like/ 3 things that could improve the experienceLike: 1. The interface is intuitive, simple and easy to use. 2. It tracks everything I need it to track, including fasting intervals. 3. It is affordable. Improvement: 1. Include an 18:6 option for fasting. 2.The app could be more flexible with portions, macros, and serving sizes, times and dates. The user could adjust all features when needed. It feels like a one size fits all. 3. Include more dietary options such as Paleo, WW, vegan, etc Overall, a very good app!.Version: 1.25

Loving HitMealHitMeal helps me be more mindful about my health. I track my meals which also helps me make good choices. It helps me do fasting. I also enjoy the fun recipes recommended for different diets like postpartum. One thing that could improve is offering statistics on the rest of the nutritional values like vitamins. It would be great to have those values as well included in the app nutritional balance diary..Version: 1.30

Very good app!I was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at age 67. So of course now I have to really watch what I eat. Went through a TON of food apps till I found HitMeal! This is perfect for my situation. Not complicated at all! So many other apps try to cram TOO much data in. Keeps track of the macros that I need to keep an eye on. (Might be a little better if it also kept track of sugar, hint, hint?) Huge food database and super easy to enter custom foods. Pushes me on my water intake. Also can customize the daily meal macros to match what your Dr recommends. Only thing I really don’t use is the weight portion as I use another app for that that has a little more in depth analysis. Meal idea section. Of course, your mileage may vary but for me this app is perfect. Overall 5 star rating!!.Version: 1.30

Mostly Love! The interface is attractive and it’s super user friendly. I mostly love it! I just wish that I could easily see the nutritional value of each meal and separate selected ingredients. Like out to the side of the total meal calories and individual meal calories/servings, include something like “10C 22P 2F” which would take up less space. Otherwise: Thank you for the app!!.Version: 1.34

I’m new to the appBeen using just a few days. I appreciate that it doesn’t harass me if I miss meal or a day. Seems like a lot of steps to add a food to the daily list of food consumed but I’m getting used to it. I find it difficult to add partial servings since it often doesn’t give the option for tablespoons, cups, and other random measures. When I tried to add a salad from a restaurant (the restaurant listed number of calories on their menu) I was frustrated that I had to fill in something for number of ounces! What?! A salad might be cups but ounces? And the form wouldn’t allow me to bypass that blank. The last app I used gave multiple ways to label the measurements — slices, cups, ounces, large/medium/small serving, etc. It seemed much more accurate. Something for the developers to work on. Also I’ve found no way to directly sync my Fitbit steps without using Apple health — which is too nosy. Further I’ve found no way to manually add steps to this app. There’s an option to add walking duration (how many minutes did you walk?) but not # of recorded steps..Version: 1.28

Really great app but no way to post allergiesI love the app but for meal plans I frequently get meals with thing so am allergic to. I think it would be nice if there was a way to tell the app your allergies for a better user experience..Version: 1.21

Better than MyFitnessPalThe interface is really easy to use and there’s a history feature that saves your recent meals for ease of logging. I also like the fasting feature that notifies you when it’s time to start/stop as well as blacks out your meals for the period of the fast so you can’t log (gives you the choice to log if needed). Really great job to the creators..Version: 1.33

Big disappointmentDate: 13 July 2021 ok it was a brilliant app at first but then we had to download the new version and then had to pay for the features that were free :/.Version: 1.5

Love itOnly just got this app. Signed up for the trial but by the end of the day I subscribed to the discounted yearly rate - I loved it that much after 1 day. I found it so easy to enter what I was eating and am keen to try the barcode feature to see how it works. I love that it links with my Apple Watch and exercise is automatically transferred from that in addition to becoming no able to manually add a variety of exercise types. The app is really easy to use and it’s so valuable to be able to see at a glance where you are at for the day at the top of the diary page. I haven’t used the recipes and meal planners yet but have looked through them and can see they would be useful. I’m hoping the recipe section expands over time as I’m always on the lookout for new recipes that taste good. I have found this to be a great app - especially with the discounted yearly subscription and the fact it includes Australian supermarket food and metric units..Version: 1.22

Love appI really love this app. It works really great with what I need it for. The only thing I wish is when creating a recipe it would allow you to add how many servings that recipe is for and then once you add to your tracker then you can add how much of it you ate. Good example is I make homemade coffee creamer. When I add in the ingredients to make this is creates a whole jar which isn’t one serving it’s about 10. I wish I could add and then add the tablespoons etc I used. I do think that portion is a little limited but other then that this app is great!.Version: 1.34

AmazingI rarely write reviews on AppStore and its usually when i don’t like something. THIS IS THE BEST APP ON THE ENTIRE APPSTORE. It’s working better than fine, it’s simple and clean, and the best thing of all is it’s free. Just the fact that it’s a solid app and it is not trying to pickpocket me for my credit card id or some insane subscriptions fees is amazing. To be honest I saw the add on Instagram and instantly thought it must be a 20$/month or 50$/year (you know like every other app that you find and get disappointed. To sum up my thoughts GOOD WORK, PLEASE DONT RUIN THE APP IN THE FUTURE. I realize that you must make money, but for gods sake, just add the adds..Version: 1.1

Happy with the app 1 day inOnly annoying thing is asking for a review constantly everytime I log in to add a food..Version: 1.22

I like the app, but …Logging food daily can be time consuming and frankly annoying. This app helps take away those pains through a really nice interface. While I like the app, I have a few suggestions to make logging food even better: 1. When adding recent items by pressing the plus sign, the app jumps each time up to the top of the list. If I’m scrolling through 10s of items to find something logged 2-weeks ago, it get pretty annoying. 2. If I’m logging a recent item, keep the unit of measurement and the amount the same as my previous choice. I logged food for days just to realize my items had reset to the default. 3. Finally, if I open the app tomorrow, the app should open to that days log and not yesterdays. I logged food on the wrong day because the app is opening to previous days and not the current day. Then, there was no way to move the items. Overall, I like the app. I used my fitness pal for a long time and this app is a better because it is not bloated with ‘features’. Thanks..Version: 1.33

Best calorie counter app!I don’t usually write reviews but this app is so great that I really want to share my experience. I tried many different calorie counters and most of them a very complicated. HitMeal is very well designed and very easy and intuitive to use. Much better then many other apps I tried like MyFitnessPal and others. Yet it has all the features I need. And the best part is that app is free at least at the moment. Would recommend this to everyone who cares about its diet and food..Version: 1.0
