✓ Negatives: search funktion and sync not working between devicesSync between two devices simply doesn’t work. I have 15 more recipes on my phone than on my iPad. Logged out of everything when I switched devices recently, and it seemed to work for a while, but now I’m back to having discrepancies. We have made several tickets but not much help from the developer. Fed up with a bad app that you have to sit scrolling up to reach the start of the list. No search function worth the name. Will probably end up going back to Paprika..Blueferret64Version: 2.3.1

✓ No sharing :(The members of my family are foodies, which is why all our recipe emails, texts and scribbled bits of paper over the years have made their way into Paprika. We each paid for a copy of the app, but five of us use the same account, across different states in Australia and even in Europe. Now, I acknowledge that we’re a little unusual in using recipes as a sort of family social media, but I imagine that a great many couples would like to refer to the same ‘recipe book’ via their own device. Not possible in Mela. The iCloud file sharing function will not support syncing recipes across different Apple IDs. Developers: please investigate creating your own cloud sync (*resisting* the temptation to charge a subscription). Your user interface and functions are quite a bit better than Paprika, but not syncing across different Apple IDs is a showstopper..PhamptonVersion: 1.0.5

✓ Functional features missing or else it would be 5 starsI recently downloaded this app to use. Currently it seems the best free one out their. But there are missing functions or else I would have given it 5 stars. 1. The first annoyance is the view = I cannot see a whole recipe page on my screen because of the annoying sidebars of sub-categories down the left hand side of the page when I open my recipe page. The app should should give an option turn them off or make the recipe page open to full screen size when selected. 2. The second annoyance is the scanning function = when I add a recipe photo from my pictures or take a picture of a paper recipe you cannot scan an image of the food at the same time you scan the text, it won't select an image, only text, the scanner function also assumes that all recipes to scan are only 1 page = wrong, I have some 2 page recipes to scan but there is no function to tell it the text to scan is on more than 1 page. 3. Another pain in the neck is there is no simple title of recipe index list so I can't see what foods I have listed in which category I have created in the categories or a simple title list in the "all recipients page". I have also had to invent a complex numbering system because I cannot move or arrange my categories in the order I want them to show because they seem defaulted to list alphabetically (I don't really want Deserts listed before Starters!).Annie_C_Version: 2.2.1

✓ Great app but needs its own storage, not iCloudI love the design of the app but really disappointed since I paid for the Mac and OS apps to find they have don’t have their own storage and use iCloud instead. The problem with that is that for people like me where my laptop is my work computer, my iCloud is turned off so the recipe sharing doesn’t work at all. Which is a massive problem. I have this problem with NO other paid apps I use since they know sync is a key feature and didn’t cheap out and use iCloud..SDGatesVersion: 1.2

✓ Lost most of my recipesHave been using the Mac version and adding in lots of recipes, which works great, but is time consuming. I decided to buy the iPad version to use in the kitchen and set up sync over iCloud and now only have 38 recipes left, the rest are just gone. This was hours of work which has just disappeared. I emailed customer support, but like others have said, no reply, just dead space. I really liked the look of this Mela app, but if it looses all my work, no way, I want my money back, just rubbish. ✓ NopeI wanted to like this app, it being so highly rated. My favorite cookbook app is no longer supported and is not in the app store, so I was looking for a new one. This just isn’t it. Far too much real estate is taken up by the title of the recipe and the list of recipes column, with the ingredients list almost falling off the page on the left. The only way I could successfully transfer a recipe without retyping it by hand was to email it to myself and save the pdf to Files, then import it into this app. Not practical for the over 1,000 recipes I have collected. Looking for something a bit more customizable, too. The font choices do not seem to work on the free version, and there are only three, so I don’t know why they bothered..CunnynghameVersion: 2.3.1

✓ Decent app but beware deletes calendarsAs the title suggests. The app as a whole is great. Got some good features and it’s in active development. But, it deleted all my calendars and replaced them with a single one called Mela which is a pain. ✓ Love it mostly, but…When I scan a recipe from a magazine or a cookbook to put into the app, there’s no way to view it full screen or zoom in to read it better when I access it. So it’s basically useless to me for that since it’s not big enough to read. Am I missing something?? It would be very tedious to take all of those kinds of recipes and input them manually. But I do love the format and layout for saving recipes that are taken from the Internet and added to the app..JcgollVersion: 2.3.1

✓ Beautiful app - needs a few enhancementsThis is a gorgeous app!! Scanning recipes from a cookbook into the app is a bit clunky depending on how the recipe text layout. Additionally, it would be helpful if the groceries list could be organized by type (produce, bakery, frozen, etc) for shopping ease and noted with which recipe the ingredient is for. ✓ Truly brilliant, but needs a few improvementsFirstly, and by far the most importantly, this is a beautiful and well-designed app that is easy to use, and generally works very well. However, I have some important suggestions: I love the feature for converting to Metric (though it isn’t always perfectly accurate). However, it is SO ANNOYING how every time I close the app, it switches back to default! I want my recipes to stay in Metric! Also, it does the same thing when adjusting quantities - I’d appreciate if it would keep my adjustments, rather than reverting to 1x.
