✓ Neat idea, doesn’t work well, very expensiveI downloaded and tried this app out. After I got past the first VERY expensive subscription screen (yes, it’s subscription only), I tried the app out on a very well-defined grid of vent holes on an electronics cabinet. No matter what I tried, it always missed about 10% of the holes. These are black holes on a white piece of equipment, I can’t imagine a more “vanilla” test. But it failed several times in a row, then started sending me back to the subscription screen on each trial. I would use this app fairly often — if it worked. However, there’s no way I’m going to pay the outrageous subscription price. I’d buy it for a one time $5 or a monthly $0.50 or so subscription. But the current price point is insane for a non-functioning app..Version: 1.17

Maybe give free users 1 a day or a few a week but the nerve it takes to ask for that much money. I actually paid for it for 2 months because it helped me once a week but I decided to see if there was a cheaper alternative and it turns out there is a free one that works just as well for me. ✓ Shockingly Bad for a Simple TaskI tried this multiple times with eight brand new crayons, all the same brand new shape on a flat black perfectly uniform clean table with great, non reflected, uniform lighting from all sides. Basically an ideal scenario for this app that should have been a ridiculously easy task. It failed to count the objects correctly every single time. In fact, when it tells you to tap an object to initially calibrate the count, it often sends the selection outline it generates off in some random location though roughly the same size as the object (but never actually the same size as it by the way, I had to adjust it to the size of the crayon every time). I never leave reviews and luckily I didn’t pay for this app, but I felt compelled to leave a review here to stop other people from spending their money on this. Also, the fact that it costs this much in the first place is absurd or that it uses a subscription model. Certainly someone will come along and make an app that actually accomplishes the stated task well and will do it for a much, much cheaper price or free..Version: 1.15

✓ It’s that great. You need to subscribe.A counting app that makes you subscribe? Really? My opinion is that if it worked they wouldn’t ask for a subscription. They are trying to do a money grab before you find out it’s not useful to most of us. For me, I never could get it to work properly. I tried to count pieces of cereal in a bowl, it made me zoom in so close that I was easily able to see, 6… 6 pieces of cereal. It counted everything, even things that were not there. It doesn’t count small things unless you zoom in close enough that you can easily see how many there are at a glance. I guess I’ve never had a need to count the logs on the back of a truck (for a subscription price) while driving. It may be useful for some, maybe those that count things for a living, line a stick boy or someone that takes inventory for a grocery store. I don’t know but personally I don’t see the point if it doesn’t SEEM to work well..Version: 1.4

I gave it a simple task: count four identical pens on my well-lit desk. The pens are the same color and oriented the same way. It failed on all five of my tries, several of which simply led to the app force-closing itself or freezing. The tries that managed to finish counting, it counted four pens as one (very obviously wrong!) and it then counted four horizontal pens as five vertical pens--orientation of the bounding boxes was COMPLETELY wrong. ✓ Terrible pricing structureThe quality of the app is pretty average, interesting but not great quality. I found that doing a quick count by eye was quicker and more accurate than having to deselect all of incorrect parts. I’ve deleted the app and won’t use it again. My problem is with the pricing structure. I ended up paying £6.99 a week for 8 weeks by accident when the yearly cost is around £25. As with all subscriptions, it should be a case of opting in after the trial is finished. It’s clearly a scam that plays on the fact that people forget to opt out of free trials. Yes, it’s my mistake but these subscription services are designed to steal money, especially from neurodivergent folk who find it difficult to keep track of things like this. ✓ 5/5 for functionality but 1/5 for the overall scoreI tested this app out thoroughly and out of the 10 different tests I performed to evaluate the app & its claims it scored a 10/10 on those tests!!!! However, I came across another app that also scored 10 out of 10 during the same test, but did not require and upfront cost(not does this app btw) & unlike this app that requires a $6.99 a month payment to continue using it the other app was free to use. So I followed the “unsubscribe process” that was laid out during the install procedures approximately 36 hours after downloading this app so that I wouldn’t be charged the $6.99 monthly fee. They advertised a three day trial. With no charges to your account as long as you unsubscribed during the trial period. Which is great grand and glorious but even though I followed the directions provided I was still charged $6.99… I have also yet to hear back from the “owners” of the app, or a customer service representative for it. so, as far as it being able to do what he claimed it to do, 5/5 stars! However, following through with their claims/promises……. 0/5 stars(only gave it the 1 star rating because 0 wasn’t an option) download it your own discretion, but I would suggest proper over-the-top documentation so that you have more to work with and I do. I tried 2 of the common objects that needed to be counted and it failed, wasn’t even close. Part of the reason it failed is in how to identify an object that needed to be counted. The problem was not finding a way to focus in on the object needing to be counted. I couldn’t zoom in to capture a single object when asked to tap on what was needed to count..Version: 2.2

✓ Count This needs to go back to schoolThis is the third Counting app that I have tried and to be frank, it plain sucked. Tested 10 horse sized capsules on my desk, it counted 9. Turned on the Lumber and walked outside to units of 2x6 Green DF which are 128 piece units. It was so far off that all I could do was laugh as one count came out as 528 pieces. You would be better served using an Abacus!.Version: 2.2
✓ Reported to Apple due to malicious paywallThis could essentially be a scam, I don’t know. However, I did report this to Apple as it is against their policy. This app is able to be downloaded for free, but upon opening, one is immediately met with a paywall that cannot be exited to use the app. Instead, you must pay a hefty subscription, and, payment is required to use the three day free trial. Not worth the time unfortunately. Might be a scam, but certainly behaves like one..Version: 2.2

It’s odd that it asks you how accurate it needs to be for you and how often you need things counted. Shouldn’t it be built to have all the same accuracy? ✓ Didn’t work on the first tryA coworker mentioned this app for helping count meds in our pharmacy at our vet office- you know just as a recheck. Sounded good since sometimes you have tiny little pills that like to slide everywhere. I tried something out simple - I needed 13 white round pills, aspirin size. I precounted them, laid them out on a plain brown counter top, evenly spaced and tried the app. It counted 14…there was nothing else in the picture for it to miss count. The “14th” pill was marked in a plain empty brown spot of the counter..Version: 1.8
