Pikmin Bloom for Negative User Reviews

I almost gov it 5⭐️I would almost give it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BUT it really drains my phone battery. I tried turning off all the location and what not features but it keeps giving my annoying popups that I can’t get rid of. PLEASE FIX ALL THESE THINGS as I really enjoy seeing all the new items in each of the burrow I travel to in my city..Version: 86.1

Another game Niantic only half thought ofThe bugs in the game, in true Niantic fashion the game loads slow at times or doesn’t load. Next you send Pikmin off to battle, sometimes for days and they come home with 3 nectar for a large mushroom. You get 30 nectar for doing a 1 minute walk and 3 for sending 20 some Pikmin for days to battle. Anywhere else you are paid extra for battle, not with Niantic, you are paid less. Then they want you to collect nectar from flowers, but the flowers are few and far between and they take forever to bloom. I have a Pokestop and gym by my house and I was hoping since I live in the country, one of those would become a big flower, but sadly no. My daughter and I are walking a mile in the morning and a mile at night to build strength in my total knee and the rest of my joints. It would be nice if Niantic kept country folk in thought when placing flowers and mushrooms. As I said in the beginning, this game was only half thought out. You would think Niantic learned from its mistakes from Pokémon Go, but it keeps making the same if not more mistakes..Version: 67.0

Account System BugsI would have liked to play this game, I’m a lifelong Pikmin fan and it seems very cool but there are just too many bugs with the account system. When the game prompted me to link my Nintendo account, I put in my login details only to be told my Nintendo account was already linked to another account. This is the first account I’ve made on the app so I’m very confused. Also, apparently if you make the in game account with your Nintendo account, there is no option to link your Google and Pokémon Go accounts later, and the game doesn’t warn you of this before you do so. When they fix the account system on this game I will come back and play it; until then, not recommended..Version: 33.3

UnderageSays I’m underaged to play Pikmin bloom. I’m 13.Version: 70.0

Greed has ruined this appHonestly, just use the pedometer on your phone to track steps. Uses FAR less battery, and doesn’t try and scam money from you. If you want a game, stick to POGO. Mushroom challenges giving out regular nectar, which wasn’t exactly hard to obtain beforehand, simply because greedy Niantic want more people to shell out for microtransactions was an abysmal decision. Since the nerf I have had five mushrooms IN TOTAL give me seasonal nectar. FIVE. Size, colour, number of stars doesn’t matter whatsoever. If you’re not going to re-balance this in some way then either just get rid of mushrooms entirely, or add another challenge method of obtaining seasonal nectar. There is little to no incentive to continue any more. Seedling spawns haven’t really improved, RNG on colours is terrible so completing decor sets is made too difficult (I’m waiting for the ‘guaranteed colour’ gizmo microstransaction to inevitably appear). Flower planting is pointless because we can only realistically plant daisies, as nobody is going to waste seasonal petals when they can’t be reliably replenished. Levelling up grants poor-to-useless rewards. The only decent thing are the weekly challenges but they’re only good when they give proper rewards like seasonal petals/golden seedlings (instead of plentiful regular nectar)..Version: 51.1

The latest updates have literally destroyed this game with nerfs and crashes making it unplayable- The supposedly good mushroom update is unplayable just because they also nerfed Pikmin strength to just 4% of original values - Daily lookback is now broken due to the same update (the very feature why I play this game in the first place) - Innumerable amount of app freezes and crashes that occurs on almost every type of game actions after a while (they only happen since the last several months) - The events are now too grindy to be fun and/or interesting to play anymore (not sure if casual players can still complete them).Version: 59.0

BadDon’t ever pop up review.Version: 47.1

Stop emailing me…You are literally emailing me twice a day to tell me to download this app. Well you succeeded. I downloaded it just so I can rate you one star and now have deleted it. Spam does not equal profit..Version: 33.4

Fun but terrible for batteryThis game is fun, and actually has made me walk a lot more instead of taking the bus. The only problem I have with it is, and especially with the new updates, that the game can be slow to respond during planting and EVEN WORSE the battery drains so fast. My iPhone 8 is old sure, but I have never seen an app drain the battery that fast- it’s worse than Snapchat. I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s because of the use of location, but even then many apps have that feature and do not waste 20% in 5 minutes..Version: 59.0

Crashing problem, can’t playI selected to make an account with google than taken to the loading screen but when the bar on the bottom filled up about eight tenths the app crashes and I’m sent back to my apps screen. I can’t really give much more than 1 star since I can’t even play it..Version: 33.3

Fun, but could definitely use more content.Something that I find is an issue, which will probably be fixed in the future, is that there isn’t a lot of content. I don’t know if there are still stuff not unlocked for me level-wise, but only being able to go on expeditions, which isn’t really gameplay and more of a waiting game, and sprouting those gigantic flowers, there isn’t really much else that is generally entertaining, as everything else is just not really as entertaining and is more of a slow grinding kind of task, and it’s a TINSY let down. Using Pokémon GO as example, you were able to battle people by using your Pokémon, and using abilities by doing things like swiping the patterns on screen, which was really fun, but fighting in this game (challenges) is just a stopwatch with a reward when the health is depleted. This is a mini-issue, something that can’t really be helped, but playing SOLO is a bit tedious and unfair. Challenges and planting flowers becomes a ton more challenging, and tedious, as now you have to do everything yourself, and with things like challenges, that isn’t really an option, but that’s just because I live in a smallish town. I get that this game is aimed towards multiplayer, so I cant really complain about it. (This game could become popular tomorrow for all I know anyway, surely there will be people to play with.) Despite some issues I have, I still find it a surprisingly fun game for how shallow it was content-wise. I still enjoyed getting my whole squad 4 hearts, trying to get them all cute accessories, and this game even made me become a bit more active! which is what matters in the end; I am satisfied, it just definitely could get better by adding more stuff to aim for, or to do. 3-5: Fun, but could use more content..Version: 34.0

Can’t play it :(I open the app, it loads and then immediately crashes..Version: 33.4

Needs Internet to Plant FlowersThe app is good but for some reason, you need to be connected to the internet to plant flowers… What’s the point of going outside if I can’t even plant flowers to get coins and other rewards….Version: 79.0

In game purchases gotten out of handI really enjoy this game, however they amount of coins they want for you to buy anything helpful has gotten expensive. In game they constantly have events to plant flowers, it it’s not easy to get flowers in areas that don’t have large flowers to bloom, thus making it near impossible to participate and complete the event unless you purchase flowers from the store. Then the premium pass for events I had a misunderstanding about and instead of listening to my feedback support didn’t listen to anything I was saying and closed the conversation as I was typing. What kind of support is that? Not a very nice nor helpful one. For 999 coins when it’s advertised you would receive a colored seedling of your choosing, it shouldn’t take you the entire duration of the event to get what you paid 999 coins for. Since they closed my conversation before I could respond here’s my review. Either what you pay coins for should actually be worth it or the cost should be reduced. I refuse to spend any more money on this game due to the rise in coin prices, I remember months back flowers did not cost 300 coins to buy also.Version: 80.0

Stuck at level 15Says I need to do a challenge to get to the next level but can’t find any..Version: 33.4

It started off wellBeen playing this game now for 6 months and really enjoy it. It’s a great reminder to take my daily steps. But the newest challenge of fighting these astronomical mushrooms just does not make sense. Some of these mushrooms take 6 to 7 days to complete with 3 other players contributing. The latest challenge is to fight 5 mushrooms but if each takes 6 days, I will be done by the middle of January and this part of the game only goes through Christmas. Seems like an oversight. Another thing is the ability to send a gift but you can’t use your coins to purchase them. You actually have to use dollars. And you can’t send anything but the gift bundles. They really should specify that and have a note when you click on send a gift that those are the only options. I lost coins because I thought I could send a hat to my girlfriend but it’s my hat now. Too bad it’s not for the right gender so I’m stuck with a hat and lost coins too. Starting to lose interest in this game..Version: 59.0

Game breaking bug?Been working fine for a few days. But one I Got to level 8 it’s stuck not counting my steps. So I can’t level up. Tested on a new account and it’s counting steps on the new account but not my main account please fix..Version: 33.3

Please fix.Fix crashes on iPhone 6 (it has iOS12.5), thanks..Version: 33.4

Too difficult to complete challengesI really like this game and love the introduction of challenges, however mostly they are almost impossible to complete when the flowers required to complete the challenges are simply not available in the game. It makes the challenges completely boring when there is no way of completing them unless you want to spend coins purchasing the required flowers.Version: 75.0

App bugsThe app has been in a constant loop showing me my weekly progress and I cannot continue playing anymore.Version: 34.0

Good concept but big issueSo, I’m chilling, looking around and see that there’s this new game by niantic called Pikmin bloom. Cool. I go and get it. Cooler. The game is great, but a big issue is that it is purchase able on an iPad. This may not seem bad, in fact, good. BUT. A thing about bloom is that it uses apple health to calculate your steps. A tiny kink in your plan, apple health was removed from iPads in 2018. Now, I get it is a game meant to be played on your phone, but niantic has already released Pokémon go that calculates your steps perfectly well and works perfectly fine on an iPad. Maybe they were in a rush, or it needed exact steps due to the exact step amounts needed to re-awaken the pikmin. None the less, good game, but they should remove it to be bought on iPads. My hope is that this ages like spoiled milk, and more people know about this. Niantic thought they could sneak the fact that the game just doesn’t on iPads work into the notes. But I see you. And I think you need to patch this, or find a way around it. Many who want to get this game are deterred by the fact it is just broken. Maybe you are working on the patch right now, but I just wanted to say that this needs to be told to more people..Version: 33.3

It’s quickly becoming boringThere was so much to like about the game but the game mechanics were nerfed recently and it takes far, far too long to level up friendship that it’s becoming dull. I’m sending Pikmin out on expeditions to collect seedlings I don’t want and will ultimately recycle (because they’re all Road types and they’re everywhere), just to get a teeny, tiny sliver of friendship. Then I have to go through my inventory and delete the ones I don’t want. It’s a lot of admin. If friendship was earned through walking, that would at least be a better incentive. As it is, I’m getting super bored. Also the amount of mushrooms you can fight should increase as you level up - half my squad aren’t “tired” at all, so makes no sense that this is a rule..Version: 36.1

Huge battery drain and Pay to ExpandThe huge battery drain and having to pay to expand your storage let Pikmin Bloom down. Battery useage used to be a big problem in Pokemon Go, but Niantic addressed it, so it’s not like they don’t know how to fix it. There’s an in game currency which you earn as you walk, which is great for Free To Play players, but you can only spend it on expendable items, not storage, which requires real payment. A shame as FTP players will ultimately leave and player base dwindle, like with Harry Potter Wizards Unite..Version: 37.0

Fix Mushroom Battle Privacy!I’ve been loving all the updates. They’ve motivated me to walk and get out more. I don’t mind that the mushroom battles got harder. It’s just incentive to keep going and growing. However, the new mushroom battle format needs a privacy update ASAP. My Mii has always looked like me. I LIKE that it looks like me. It’s fun to play Mario Kart as a family with everyone using their own likeness. I don’t use my real name in the game but I’m seeing lots of people who do. Having someone appear at a mushroom for 9+ hours with their real name or even just their likeness is a huge privacy concern for me. I had to change my Mii on Nintendo just so my avatar wouldn’t look like me to battle a mushroom. I don’t mind working together on a mushroom but I want to be able to do so anonymously. It’s one thing for my Mii to look like me on a game server with international players or friends and family. It’s quite another thing to show up on a map with a person’s name and likeness for hours on end next to their residence, school or place of work where most of play most frequently..Version: 59.0

BugStrange bug after and during character drearily that displays both the models of my custom mii and one of the stock miis. Persisted through gameplay..Version: 88.0

Game is Fun but Battery DrainerThe gameplay is very fun. But man, this app drains your battery like no other! Having it open and active on my phone for 10 minutes drained 25% of my battery and made my phone warm. Also, it causes intermittence in my Bluetooth signal, and has major lag within the game, causing slow down. Niantic needs to fix these issues (especially the battery draining) in order for players to be able to fully enjoy the game..Version: 36.1

Please connect to Fitbit!!!I love Pikmin and was really excited to get this game, but it really needs a larger selection of decor, I live in a rural area, there’s absolutely no chance of me getting sushi Pikmin!! Also, why won’t the app connect to my Fitbit?!?! I’ll go for a walk, do 5000 steps, my phone/the app registers about 2000 of them, it’s so incredibly frustrating! It would be really nice to have a feature where you could add friends nearby, none of my “real life” friends play this game so I’m stuck doing everything solo!.Version: 60.1

GaiahaihaisbsjsIt’s a really good game and and i really like getting the decor pikmin!! but the items in the shop are really expensive, like 400 coins for a kimono?!!?! and it already takes a while just to get a couple of coins!! anyway i would give it 4-5 starts it’s just that i think the clothing you can buy with in-game currency is over priced..Version: 83.0

No longer connects since updateWas happy with the app and it has encouraged me walking but since the update, all I get is “unable to connect”. It now only works with Wi-fi and not with 4G network since the latest update, which is ridiculous! How am I supposed to go for a walk when there is no wi-fi to connect to?? I have followed the faqs and even deleted and re-installed the app but nothing has worked as a fix. Hope they sort this soon otherwise I will have to delete the app, which is a shame. Content overall is OK but could do more with the battles and have more challenging level ups (I’m now stuck on lvl 41 since the update - I don’t fancy walking 30,000 steps in my flat only). Please sort this issue!.Version: 37.0

Steps aren’t being countedI love the game but there’s definitely an issue with the way my steps are being counted. I will go somewhere with my friends who play they’ll all easily get 5k+ steps in the time mines registered maybe 1k. I also have a smart watch that counts my steps and generally do 8-10k steps a day, I always have my phone either in my hand or my pocket but only get 1-2k steps a day in Pikmin. It’s becoming very frustrating and makes playing at this point feel pointless..Version: 36.1

An amazing game turned awful overnightWhile myself and my partner have loved this game since day one, and spent many many dollars on in game purchases- we are leaving the game until they decide to make changes that allow expeditions to be suitable for users that do not live in densely populated areas. Mushroom challenges which used too take less than one minute now take up to 20 days to complete. Mushrooms have increased from 10s of thousands of HP to millions with no scaling of existing pikmin or challenge rewards. This is sickening to say the least. A once great game has turned in to an unusable product over night, and I’ve seen this opinion shared by EVERY SINGLE PLAYER that I follow online. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of DAY ONE players have spoken out against this change, and niantic has unreceptive. Having 100%d pikmin 1-3, I think a solid approach would’ve been making very large, dangerous “boss” creatures with these mega HP bars. This invites collaboration, cooperation, and the sort of multiplayer niantic was aiming for. These challenges could have increased requirements and increased rewards. Mushrooms, challenges which in the mainline pikmin games are basically slimes, taking 20 days, though, is absolutely beyond comprehension. PLEASE FIX THIS. If the change becomes properly rebalanced, and a thought out implementation of the current challenge system is put into play, this game could easily become one of the best niantic has ever made..Version: 60.0

New mushroom battles…The new mushroom battles are awful, even on co-op… the commitment in duration is ridiculous. The star thresholds and mushroom health are way too high to be reasonable. Additionally, reducing the rewards for Small size mushrooms while vastly increasing the strength threshold to earn better results is simply lame. As a Lv 40 player, on a good day I would be able to collect 3-6 large fruits. With a friend on co-op, I would be able to collect 6 large fruits daily, guaranteed. It would be a process that would take five minutes to be done with! Now, squads sent out with the same initial conditions yield far less fruit and take much longer, ridiculously so, to complete. Having entire squadrons of pikmin gone for *days* at a time to earn LESSER rewards than the same group was able to earn in *thirty seconds* pre-update is just not good design. I’ve no other way to put it. The gameplay is a huge downgrade and is so much less enjoyable for so many players. I look around the community and the places they converge online, and I see that 98% of people have similar opinions: simply, this is bad, and prefer how it was before. It was simpler, much less of a time commitment, yielded better in-game rewards, and much more accessible for solo players. With the old system, one could complete all mushroom battles for the day in just a few minutes, satisfyingly. I will say that the UI changes and communication features, as well as the nectar option on the prep screen are all very good and convenient changes. That being said, the main change to the entire mushroom battle system is awful and genuinely upsetting for me and many others. The entire community is upset with this decision, and I’ve seen many people who are considering uninstalling because of it. Therefore we ask you to please consider our thoughts and feelings, and remake the mushroom battle system to be more enjoyable than it originally was, as opposed to how it is now: significantly less enjoyable and way more inconvenient. Thank you for your consideration..Version: 59.0

Need more Pikmin Storage!I really enjoy this game, it is very cute and it is fun collecting all the different types of decor Pikmin. Could you please make one small change? I would really like to be able to use coins I have earned in game to buy more Pikmin storage. Please?!?!?.Version: 46.2

Crashes - can’t even openTried to open the app, managed to login with Nintendo account after 5th crash then the loading screen will go no further. Loads 75> of the way then crashes.Version: 33.4

Not tracking me :(The app is not even tracking my steps. It is consistently staying at zero steps recorded no matter how many steps I have taken..Version: 33.3

What’s the point-min?I’ve been a fan of Pikmin for a long time. I loved Pokémon Go. Coming to this game I expected an elegant and easy to use pedometer with an injection of wacky Pikmin silliness. What I got was a bland and confusing time sink. The UX is awful - it is difficult to work out where to go in the UI to achieve things, and there are so many wordy popups to explain the unintuitive nature of the game that I just tune out. And I wanted to love the game. And I wanted a reason to march around my neighbourhood with pikmin in tow. The current game is severely lacking in flavour/character, and has terrible usability. I don’t know how it can recover from this poor launch, I might wait a year or so and check it out again. But knowing Niantic and their glacial improvements to Pokémon Go, I don’t expect improvements any time soon. Sorry developers, if you read this review, but this feels like a corporate exercise and not a satisfying experience.Version: 33.4

Mildly fun game potential to be amazingThere are three main features to this game 1 ) Collecting decor pikmin, this is the process of raising pikmin until their friendship level is maxed out and then they’ll put on a little costume based on their place of origin. For example if you find a pikmin by the train station they’ll have s train themed costume. 2 ) Mushroom raiding, there are giant mushrooms in your town that you can send your pikmin to destroy. After defeating the mushroom they will come back with various items. 3 ) Blooming buds into flowers, there are giant buds around your town, you have to walk around the bud and plant mini flowers until the bud blooms into a gigantic flower. After it blooms you are rewarded with various items. The only reason I play is to collect all the decor pikmin… I find the other two features I mentioned extremely boring, too repetitive, it doesn’t feel immersive. Niantic needs to add new features and polish their existing features or this game will not have longevity which is a shame. Features like combat and adding enemies to the game would be great. Everything considered, Pikmin Bloom is a solid 3 out of 5 stars with so much room to improve..Version: 51.1

Lacks any real engagementWas so looking forward to this game but it really has little to keep you occupied at the moment and already friends have stopped playing. One of the features where your pikmin run off to deliver a post card, if that friend has stopped playing and the game chose to send a favourite character pikmin, you can’t interact with that pikmin until the friend opens the post meaning you might never get it back. Maybe revisit in a few months but for now, this game has little value and interest to keep playing..Version: 33.4

CoinsToo hard to earn coins and there’s no way I’m paying that insane price. I feel like walking while planting is not rewarding at all… unless your next to a plant so you can watch it grow… but I’m not walking around in ridiculous circles to achieve this… reward people for planting and walking better. And make it so you don’t have to walk in circles to grow a flower….Version: 33.3

Needs more optionsOkay so this game is cute and fun but after a while gets a little boring. Instead of just recycling unwanted Pikmin seedlings you should be able to sell those for coins to get more space/cool flowers or fruits/cool Pikmin etc etc. As it is there are very few ways to get coins and I’m not going to spend my own money to get things in a game lol. Also if the quests were a bit more interactive that would be fun.Version: 33.4

Hmmmm…I was really looking forward to playing this, but when I try to sign in with my Nintendo account, it says something like, “You need permission to share your location. Ask for help from an adult to change location settings”. I set all my location settings in my account and on my phone for the game, to allow or always. Is this a bug or am I just being stupid?.Version: 33.4

Laggy, bad usabilityThis app is such a great idea but is lacking in usability. Constantly have to sign in when I use the app, my Mii flys all over the place when I’m sitting still in my chair and I get a pop up saying I’m going to fast or not to be playing in the app while I’m driving. Says I need to complete a challenge but doesn’t show you what to do. Disappointed that Doctor Mike did an ad for this when the app isn’t actually that great. Hopefully updates improve it as I’d like to experience it without the bugs..Version: 34.0

Will not load on iPhone 5sHave a iPhone 5s running iOS 12.5.5 and will not load. Crashes halfway through loading screen even though App Store says iOS 12 or higher. Loaded through the permissions page and now will not progress to avatar creation. Love the game on my 11 and wanted to load this game for kids so they had something to do while I play ingress, but this is a disappointing issue that seems to have no resolution on any support groups.Version: 34.0

Ongoing issues & Nintendo/Niantic don’t seem to careTwo community days in a row now (Dec & Jan) there have been issues with the CD badge. The first one didn’t get issues for ages and the most recent one, you were meant to get the total camellias planted on your badge. Despite planting camellias for more than 20,000 steps, mine showed as zero for days and now shows no total at all. Since the last update, it only works on wifi and not with cellular data. Multiple comments on their social accounts are going ignored. This is a game that relies on logging in when you’re out and about so to leave an error like that for so long and without any recognition is disgraceful. Aside from the bugs, it’s low level of in game rewards and functionality is poor. The sorting function isn’t user friendly or logical (especially when compared to PoGo), and there are way too many road ones with boring stickers and not enough other types. Road as a theme has so much potential with cars, road cones, traffic lights etc so why just the boring stickers? The limits on mushrooms are stingy, you can’t invite friends to mushrooms and postcards serve absolutely no purpose. You also can’t delete expeditions. All in all, it’s a visually cute game that’s really not making the most of its potential and since the last CD, I’ve stopped bothering..Version: 38.0

Fantastic for kidsThis game is great for the kids “my legs are too tired” moments when you are only halfway home. I only wish I could purchase surprise items to place up ahead or in places I wish to walk to increase excitement levels for getting places..Version: 44.0

DO NOT USE THIS GAME IF YOU TRAVEL!!I loved this game and used it for six months, until I moved back from Australia to the UK. I spent another month on this app until a few more of my pikmin had gifts to collect…. which will take 231 days for them to collect from the country they were found in. Long story short I have to send 90% of my entire pikmins away for 8 MONTHS if I ever want to progress in the game, or I have to get rid of them, after six months of working with them. Either way I’m basically starting from scratch. This is a serious flaw that needs to be fixed!!!.Version: 89.0

No friends for mushroomsI love this game it’s encouraged me to get out of the house a lot and I’ve explored beaches and parks, it’s been really enjoyable. But with the new updated mushrooms, it would takes around EIGHT hours, to destroy a set of small mushrooms when it use to take 28 seconds. For large mushrooms it takes 4 DAYS that’s with a friend. I love the new displays but the time it takes to complete mushrooms is kind of ridiculous..Version: 60.0

Incessant CrashingThis game is great, I’d give it 4 stars. But on my iPhone 7 whenever I try to actually interact with the app it crashes after a minute or two (or even just on launch). Niantic, if you fix the crashing this will be one of my favourite games to play. So please, just fix them..Version: 33.3

Forced purchase = less playersThe new mushroom update? Ridiculous. Blatant attempt to push people into paying for expanded Pikmin storage (so they can do their mushrooms every day as each mushroom takes DAYS even with multiple people) and nectar, as nectar will be hard to get from… lack of mushrooms. Also, mushrooms fill up and don’t let anyone else join, which means mushrooms are becoming unusable for DAYS. People aren’t stupid. No one will pay money for gameplay that was previously free, especially in this economy. Rebalance the mushrooms as it’s only driving players away..Version: 60.0

Fun at First, Then PointlessAs others have said, this game’s fun at first - like a new, more laid-back take on Pokémon Go. However, after a while there’s no getting away from the fact that the premise of the game is cyclic, with no actual goal. You do ‘A’ to let you do more ‘B’. You do ‘B’ to let you do more ‘C’, and you do ‘C’ to let you do more ‘A’. There’s nothing wrong with not having a definitive goal, but you quite quickly reach the point where you’ve maxed-out everything. That doesn’t stop you playing, but you end up wasting items just so you’ve got space to collect more of the same thing. You can pay (real money only, despite the in-game currency) to increase your capacity of some items, but you’re only going to delay getting to exactly the same situation..Version: 38.1

Great concept, but a really long way to goI just tried to add a note for the past day. It was limited to 300 characters and that was basically nothing to use it as a dairy. The note would be folded in the journal, too, so I think it’s definitely possible to allow multiple entries or a longer entry. I personally really like the concept, but sadly the map is pinned to your location so you can only see the flowers around you. Can there be a button that you can see the whole map, though might limited to 5 miles around you, or limited to the flowers that only you planted? I don’t like that you have to start a session in order to have your flowers planted. I think the app encourages people to take sessions of walking (fast walking, running, etc.) instead of the general walking steps. The flower planting is time-centered instead of distance/step-centered. I feel like there are not many things that you can do in the game. The flowers planted during a session were not even even if you are walking with a steady speed. Update: today I found that part of the flowers I planted disappeared from the map… wow.Version: 33.4

Fun but HUGE bugThis game is super cute, but the only thing is I hardly have any incentive to play anymore because no matter what I do, my pikmin’s friendship levels WILL NOT go up. I have a purple Pikmin that I’ve taken on SEVERAL expeditions as well as some starred pikmin because I like to farm decor pikmin. It’s been a good week and NONE OF THEM have increased friendship level even a little bit. It shows the little heart above them when they come back from the expedition and I collect the item from them, but other than that, they show no signs of leveling up. It’s incredibly frustrating and makes me not really want to play the game if I can’t even get decor pikmin anymore. I’m not even having trouble with counting steps or anything, everything else in the game is working fine (other than the occasional glitch where two or more pikmin are in the EXACT same spot and clip through each other, but that’s just visually funny and doesn’t affect gameplay) but I CANNOT raise friendship levels. I’m not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but it’s incredibly frustrating since I’ve starred all the pikmin that are from places where they’ll get a non-sticker decor item. Its a fun game and doesn’t drain my battery as much as pokemon go, but this is very annoying and I don’t see the point if I cant even get decor pikmin.Version: 36.0

Drains phone battery!I like playing this game and have got to Level 45. I have two major issues with it that are a huge disincentive to play though: 1 - Battery drain! Don’t leave home without a portable phone charger as your phone will be dead in under an hour. I can only “play” now if I start planting flowers before I leave home and then keep the app closed the whole time. Having the app open kills the battery like no app I’ve ever seen. Devs need to fix this pronto. 2 - Pikmin storage at 300. Once you reach this it becomes tedious to continually release (ie delete) old Pikmin to get the newly grown ones. You can spend real money to expand this storage… but why can’t I use the in game gold coins for this?? I hate how the in game currency can’t be used for expansions… it’s a real kick in the face to players to allow them to earn currency but not use it on useful items. I know some phone users have issues with calls/notifications while playing too - but I haven’t experienced this with an iPhone. If devs don’t update the app to improve battery life and using in game currency for useful spending on upgrades, I expect I’ll stop playing this pretty soon as these issues cause effort/annoyance that outweighs the fun in playing..Version: 36.1

Enjoyable with flawsFirstly I really enjoy this non-game. It isn’t a game, but it is motivation to get out and walk without having to be on your phone. It’s great to look back on the day and see how much colour and joy you’ve spread from walking. It’s encouraged me to get out on my lunch break for a 20 minute walk rather than stayed glued to my desk. Collecting Pikmin and gathering rewards from my walks such as seedlings and nectar is an added bonus. Flaws - other reviewers have already mentioned some, such as lack of motivation to engage further due to no rewards (eg postcards, joining others in destroying mushrooms, etc). My personal biggest annoyance is that it repeatedly tells me “you’re going to fast” and the only option to do is click “I’m a passenger”. I’m not a passenger!! I just walk fast. If I click I’m a passenger, it’s logs you are in a car and not walking. So the only way to clear the pop up is to hard restart the app. Which is frustrating. So developers - please work on content, yes, and create bigger incentives for certain tasks. But please make the app more intuitive to know some people walk at different speeds - and give another option to choose when the pop-up is triggered than just selecting ‘I’m in a car’. Suggestions: “I’m a passenger” OR “I’m running” etc..Version: 36.1

Heaps of potentialI love this game and that there is no “battling” other players. I enjoy walking around with Little flowers and planting flowers. I think that the adventure sync feature on Pokémon go could be adapted to this app, there is a MAJOR discrepancy to the steps counted on my watch and on my Pokémon go to this app. Otherwise, I love the chilled out vibe of this game..Version: 34.0

Could be really goodGame has a great ip and has the potential to be really great. But as it is right now there isnt really anything to do. Theres no depth and isnt much of a game rather fancy step counter so far. More game features and things to collect/ do and it will be amazing in no time..Version: 33.3

Enjoying the app a lot, unfortunate audio issuesThis app isn’t perfect and it fits into the same niche as Pokémon go (natural considering it’s from the same devs), but I personally find it more enjoyable. It’s a much more casual experience, and I find it to be a cute at charming way to count steps. The gyms are replaced with these large flowers that everyone helps to grow, so there’s not much of a competitive aspect, but that doesn’t really seem like the point to me. Much like in Pokémon go there are certain upgrades like more space in your party or more growing slots locked behind micro transactions, but for a free phone app that I used to blow of steam in my spare time, I don’t mind (but I relatively enjoyed Pokémon go, and am a looooong time Pikmin fan, so it speaks to my personal interests). I haven’t been able to get the audio to work however, which is a big deal for me, but if/when that gets resolved, that would be my only major complaint solved. I say if you liked Pokémon go or games like that but are looking for a lighter, more relaxing alternative, it’s worth a shot at least!.Version: 33.3

Started off a really good game but now pay to winI had been really enjoying this game since release and have found it helpful to encourage getting outside and being active whilst there. From the last event, however, it has unfortunately clearly become pay-to-win – up until this point it had been more than possible to get all Pikmin without having to worry about spending any money, however the second part of their Easter egg event gave you 13 days to claim the 3 remaining Pikmin that you could only receive from destroying a large number of mushrooms; doing all 3 of the mushrooms allowed for free per day meant you could only just about manage to get 3 seedlings from the challenges and as these weren’t guaranteed to give you the ones you needed it is clear you’d have to be very lucky to finish the set without spending lots of money on tickets for additional mushroom fights. Sad that it looks like they will be ruining a nice game :(.Version: 68.1

Has potentialI have loved pikmin since the first game came out on Nintendo GameCube. When I saw this, I was so excited and downloaded on the 1st day. The graphics are cute, the only downside is, there isn’t a lot of gameplay involved. You can plant flowers as you walk, send them expeditions to collect items from close by. There are large flowers which need flowers planted in order for them to grow, I have walked in places to get it to it’s next level, but if I don’t finish it, I don’t get any type of reward as it’s a community achievement. There just doesn’t seem to be much incentive in playing. I play pokemon and I find there is so much to do, and as this is developed by Niantic too, I hope more things will be added to make it more exciting than it currently is.Version: 33.4

Alright - please review other aspects of game when updating a feature in the gameGood game to make you more active but battery consuming, maybe with the AR/visuals it causes higher battery consumption when playing. Not a fan of the new mushroom gameplay update, forces those that don’t co-play with others take a lot longer to level up as bigger mushrooms take several days to complete if doing solo/lucky with random gamers joining the same mushroom battle..Version: 60.0

It’s just Pokémon go but boringI tried to play the game but after the tutorial it just got super boring All you can do is just walk, check how much you’ve walked, plat flowers and play with your Pikmin but even that’s a stretch since all you can do is throw them, feed them nectar, and call them not to mention you need to walk 1,000 just to get ONE Pikmin I walked around my whole block and BARELY Broke 100 how an I supposed to make 1,000 AND have fun? At least walking huge amounts in Pokemon go is an ALTERNATIVE and not a requirement like in this game and the Pikmin do absolutely NOTHING besides give you more Pikmin. Like they could have at least added enemy’s that you could fight for stuff like using your Pikmin the defeat a bulborb and gain some more Pikmin or a new nectar like the red one or the purple one or have a flower that you could set certain Pikmin to to collect stuff over time so that you have INSENSITIVE go and walk around but it doesn’t have any of that it’s just a step count that has Pikmin in it that do NOTHING. All this time with no new game and this is what we get? Really? Metroid game looks great kirbys game is 3D and looks great Pokémon’s new games look great Pikmin get a bland step counter with Pikmin you can toss around and that’s it. (At least I HOPE this isn’t it and they might add more to it down the line but we can only wait and see).Version: 33.3

Character weightGames alright but it really bothers me that I can't change how I look properly, apart from the lighting of the game making all the skin tones lighter i can't change my weight and look off and very skinny. Just think it's weird..Version: 78.0

Avid Niantic playerSo I’ve played Ingress. Not really my jam. I play Go prolifically. I’ve played Wizards Unite but it’s boring as heck and I’m not surprised they’re killing the game early next year I decided to try this one. First it doesn’t track steps as well as Go. I look on one app versus the other and it barely registers my steps. Two the Ingress portals are not all available on Pikmin. In fact very few. The portals or poke stops and gyms should be universal. Especially to loyal players that know where all of these spots are located. I seriously bought my home knowing I was within walking distance to 6. So it’s disappointing to see in Pikmin that I can’t reach any of the 6. They just aren’t there. Instead the closest to me are in high traffic areas that are not the most safe due to the transient population. No, I’m not saying all homeless are the scourge of society. I’ve been accosted by enough in my area to know that mental illness is a real problem among the homeless. I’ve also questioned why I don’t see the aliens they clearly can see. But I digress. Open all the portals in Pikmin please! I spent months looking for the perfect home..Version: 33.4

Great game, buggy appI love Pikmin Bloom, but the app is becoming increasingly frustrating to use. - Constant “low network connectivity” pop-ups, even when I am connected to fast Wi-Fi or have 5G. It causes the app to lag and crash, you can’t even feed nectar to Pikmin when this issue comes up. - Crashing when activating detector. Almost every time I activate the detector the app freezes and I have to restart it. - Logging me out then endless loading when I try to log back in, or claims no network connection. - Lagging when opening the app when Pikmin have defeated mushrooms. The cutscenes sometimes overlap with things like finishing flower planting and cause the app to freeze. - Why can we only plant one type of flower at a time, instead of planting all our petals until we run out? Having to constantly check the app and start planting a different type of petal is not fun when on a walk. - When tapping the whistle 3 times to swap out my squad, the app will not show me all my Pikmin. For example if I am trying to feed nectar to all Pikmin, there will always be 5-10 who never appeared in any rotation who are still wearing a leaf (haven’t eaten). Also, tapping the whistle 3 times won’t cycle out every Pikmin. Sometimes the same Pikmin will stay in my squad several cycles in a row. It’s very frustrating when trying to feed nectar to all Pikmin..Version: 57.0

Absolute waste of time and ruined since last updateYou can spend days upon days on mushrooms with little to no reward. The spawn rates for anything other than small mushrooms just isn’t there. I have nothing but smalls around consistently since the update and little to no nectar from them! This isn’t sustainable when you ask for challenges to plant flowers. Unless you’re spending real money you cannot get anywhere in challenges anymore. It’s not worth any time or effort anymore. Shame because it was a fantastic game I spent so much time on. But not anymore :( What were you guys thinking doing this? Get rid of this ridiculous small mushroom spawn rate. There’s no chance of any other size anymore unless you’re in a major city. You do not have the player base nor amount of people needed to destroy these smalls or anything else to make it worth anyone’s time :(.Version: 60.1

A bugPlease deal with the bug on access that keeps locking me out, with the error message that I don’t have Internet access- when every other app including Safari, on my iPhone does have Internet access and I have 5 bars signal strength. Last time I had to delete the app, re-load from iCloud and log in again. I suppose I will have to do the same now. Otherwise a nice step counting adventure app - if you can access it..Version: 37.0

Only play with friends, and even then, it’s slowly losing it’s edge.Pros: Plenty of varied decor Pikman to find/collect Updates are still frequent-ish allowing for rotating flower types and new decor Pikman every now and then to keep things fresh. Helped me get outside more to exercise Cons: Huge drain on the Battery, unlike it’s predecessor Pokémon go (If I had the app constantly going with power saving mode on, it would last maybe an hour) Hard to complete the collection, as not only does no official Pikman map exist, event Pikman are seasonal and if you miss out, tough luck. Crashes are consistent due to the amount of entities that can be on screen at any given time. Recent changes to how they also gave out Golden seedlings downgraded this review from a 4-star to a 3-star. The “Stage” system is too unreliable to get consistent golden seedlings from, and the alternatives cost way too much coins for the average Pikman player to reasonably have, encouraging P2W alternatives..Version: 78.0
