VA: Health and Benefits for Positive User Reviews

App.What I’ve noticed here is a lot of veterans complaining about the VA instead of sharing their experiences using the app and discussing its performance. That’s the reason for this review page. The app is very basic and straightforward. It helps me access every bit of information I need. I would love to see the non-service-connected claim moved to a different tab, with all service-connected claims grouped together. Other than that, the app serves its purpose and does its job well. To my fellow vets, there is a hotline you can call if you are not getting the treatment you deserve forward all you issues to them. An app review page is not the place..Version: 2.19.0

This App is a huge time saver!I’m very impressed with this App! It is intuitive, easy to navigate and contains information I never noticed in Safari with MHV. The ‘Letters’ feature is spot on. I immediately downloaded a couple letters for my records. I sincerely thank whoever thought of the Proof of Service card. It will make checkout at the hardware store, so much easier! 😉 I give this App and The VA App Development team a big thumbs up for Ease of use and Content😎 Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.7.0

Not for IPhonesBoth apps for VA Health and Refills are useless on iPhones. First, after enduring all the redirects you come to the page where you sign in. Once you sign in, you often get an error saying no internet connection. Which is untrue as you test your signal and it’s strong. I went with the apps because the browser website failed to work 90% of the time. I sure hope they fix these issues soon, as I’d like to check my appointments, message my doctor, and refill my medications. As of today, I have to deal with long waits on the phone as well as call backs. I would think that having a good operating system would be paramount to the VA. Not having a reliable system sure waste a lot of peoples time. Mine and the VA..Version: 1.21.0

Pain and medicationSeems like VA doesn’t want people taking any pain medication unless it’s in the hospital and everything is great. They discharge you and tell you that a lot of meds like Clozapine. I was told by my primary care doctor. He said I can’t get both pain meds and pain attack medication. I was told to choose one. I had a total pain attack 28 September 2022 at VA during appointment. My condition for my pain attack with acrophobia diagnosis in 1997. I been on meds for a long time. Now I am trying to make appointment with psychiatrist because I need this medication. I read the article about vets and suicide. I am not suicidal and I have taken both medications for the last 4 years when I was on pain management. It’s monthly and random drug test. I have researched and I know my meds and if you take as prescribed I don’t see a problem. I believe VA wants to do the right thing. I am very happy with VA. I am learning but I think you are pretty awesome.Version: 1.39.0

Use the VA app-it’s easy!I am a 74 year old disabled vet, and I use the VA app several times a week. It notifies me when I have a message from my Primary Care Team. It also keeps track of upcoming appointments, and allows me to reorder prescriptions. I can also see test results. I even use the app to check in when I arrive for an appointment. I used to spend a fair amount of time calling the VA toll free number to do those things, but now I do most of those things on the app. It works, and it’s easy! My Personal EvaluationI am very pleased with this app. The information is thorough and to the point. Everything pertaining to my service record information is there for me to review at a click. Everything is explained well and the format is very user friendly. I am enjoying going over and over every little detail listed. Very proud to be a Veteran and to have a country that takes pride in our wellbeing. Thanks.Version: 1.10.0

Exceptional resource for VetsAfter setting this app up and using I have come to realize how useful this app can be. Used to call in and I could never seem to find the time to call in. Finally with this resource calling in is optional and getting my info, letters, claim status and much more is within a simple password exchange of getting into an app that gives me all the information in regards to my benefits!!! Thank you!!!.Version: 1.15.0

PRETTY GOOD JOBI cannot give this app 5 stars because it still isn’t what it can be. For instance, if someone served in multiple branches of service (i.e. Marines, Air Force), they don’t have the option of which branch logo would be represented on their profile. I have emailed around to find out how one changes this and was told that they didn’t know what I was talking about. Then there is the fact that they don’t accept foreign numbers. What about those of us that reside and/or work overseas? We cannot enter a true number. This becomes a problem when you need to have 2 factor verification. Then you have to download another app in order to do this. Finally, you should be able to download a copy of your records from here as well. Not only your VA records, but you should be able to get a complete copy of your Military Medical Records, as well, without having to send something through snail mail. This is very inconvenient, especially if you reside overseas..Version: 1.29.0

Great job! However…This is an awesome app, however there are some room for improvements. 1. It will be better when you check your appointments, you also have the option to make an appointments. 2. A feature where you can view the detailed of the visit. Ex. Your problem, what the doctor orders on the visit (Lab test, Ct scan, X-ray, MRI, etc.). 3. Also, a Directory where we can see the specific phone number of every department we like to make an appointment. (Radiology Department, Physical Medicine Department, Neurology Department, etc.). Overall good job..Version: 1.11.0

Great resource for vetsGreat app for messaging the doctor or refilling prescriptions. I like not having to go into MyHealthevet frequently or having to go into ebenefits just for a letter. A couple issues that could stand to be fixed. My messages all disappeared recently and I can’t see anything in a sent folder. I think this may be deeper than just the app as I see some issues online as well. I hate that I have to login each and every time I come into the app. Allow save sign in with Face ID each time and maybe a refresh authentication one a month or something..Version: 2.18.0

Great App!Overall, this is a great app for the VA… I’m actually surprised the government rolled out such an easy to use app for veterans! My only suggestion after using the app for a couple of months is adding a sign out button on the app homepage. Currently in order to sign out of the app, it is buried under the settings feature. Other than that the site runs smooth, and I really appreciate all the effort that went in to developing this app. Nice work!.Version: 2.11.0

Keeping Veterans Informed!!!!!The Veterans Administration since the dawn of time have been the back bone 🦴 of the military services. Regardless of the Branches in Question 🙋. I know personally that for the most everything the VA receive is either second hand 🖐, or out dated. FACT!!!!!!!! I rate The Veterans Administration with a 10 Stars ⭐️. Because, even though The Employees, Contractors, Management, etc. , struggles every day trying to maintain a smile 😊 while working under poor conditions, and being under paid. These people come to work everyday knowing it’s going to be and up hill battle to provide the products, and services needed. Not just for veterans, but for everyone that’s sick 😷, ill, and needing medical assistance. Thank You 🙏🏾, everyone around the world 🌎 that’s related to The Veterans Administration. I know my Thanking You want be enough that will resolve all the negative issues going on in The VA. Maybe, this is a START, You are always welcome 🤗 in my heart ❤️. Keep up the excellent work, Recognition is coming know that You haven’t been forgotten. Frankie L Carson.Version: 2.22.0

Review new sign inTried a number of times without sucess to use new. Now forced to Or to go through all kinds of gyrations trying to get logged into anything that would give me my healthy vet and found a little success except for the last minute was able to send a secure message to my doctor about emergency condition don’t appreciate the program as it is it it causes much confusion and makes things extremely difficult for us to keep our heads above water with the system please adjust. If I weren’t feeling so bad right now I’d have a lot more to tell you but you need to look into the difficulty of this thing particular for for us old guys..Version: 1.22.0

Services beyond the call of dutyI truly believe the VA and its associated team of doctors are committed to helping and treating veterans that are in need of professional assistance. Doctors and staff members form a connection that eases the tensions normally associated with visiting a clinic or hospital. Especially for us veterans who are apprehensive of seeking assistance. Thank you for your service and support by providing a safe environment and a healthy cultural experience. In this case, I want to recognize Dr. Melissa Gonzalez at the Murrieta, CA branch for her excellent and exceptional expertise in providing optimal treatment in her field of expertise. I am truly grateful and honored to have her as my doctor. She is thorough, thoughtful, patient and caring. In addition, she’s a proud professional in her field and I am thankful that she committed herself of becoming the doctor she is today. Than you!.Version: 2.12.0

VA and ProfessionalismThe Nurse practitioner I had for years all she gave me was Ibuprofen; this allows the VA to deny claims of pain and disability. When they are dismissive of injury and pain. And do fairly nothing to resolve issues, but destroys your organs instead. My new physician is better, but the VA is still lacking in what is will do for veterans heath. I walked around with a broken clavicle and had to get rotator cuff surgery, for a while and nobody saw it. Had to see an out side Dr. , saw an out aside neurology Dr for head issues, still fighting the VA for his diagnosis. The VA is all about not paying the veteran. Trying to find ways to not give you money. Adding back dated clames and increased percentage but it went back 10 yrs where the back dated pay??.Version: 2.2.0

Unjust CompensationThis review is in honor of my thousands of fellow brothers in arms whom wrote a blank check payable to the USA for an amount of and up to our lives hoping to someday be recognized and properly compensated for our hidden sacrifices that to this day remains unknown to those leading from the comfort of offices and command centers, making horrible decisions over whom and what should and shouldn’t be compensated. It’s been nearly 20 years since my retirement and even though the military knew by documentation that my injury is present and would get worse as time goes by, nothing was said to me because of my ignorance and not complaining for my injuries. Instead I preferred to hold my pain in and soldier as I was expected to do. Unless members of the Compensation Approval Boar has been in my shoe, they can never know how much one is hurting inside. My mental state is heading towards so much anger and disappointment towards the way how said services are handled that my darkest thought have been surfacing on a regular basis..Version: 2.21.0

Love this new app!!The VA hit the nail on the head with this app. I can’t stress enough how useful it is. I can message my healthcare provider, check appointments, get official letters, view my claims, and check payments. There’s more I didn’t list but these are the features I use most frequently. It used to be that I had to go on the computer and navigate to different areas of the VA site which at the time were unintuitive, it’s sooo much easier now. Thank you for this!!!.Version: 1.22.0

Very good app for what's it's suppose to beInstead of commenting on every unrelated problem with the VA, this is a review of the actual app itself, The app is actually very good. I can look up benefit information, message my docs about questions, see and schedule future health appointments, ECT. It's easier for most tasks than the website. Been using it for over two years, rarely any problems. If there are, it's usually because the system site wide is having issues..Version: 2.17.0

Unique & AccessibleYou’ll always know when you need to “update” because you’ll have trouble logging in. (2) I do wish there were a downloading document “SF256” for “Schedule A” hiring authority. This is a very important document that can be googled but can also be difficult to find without informative OPM office support. PLEASE consider ADDing “SF256” FALLIBLE .pdf and “SF-15” for veterans seeking federal career opportunities. I don’t know what section it would be a part of or maybe a new section for federal employment info. Something simple. Short but sweet. Maybe even “Non-competitive” brochure info?.Version: 2.5.0

Va appWhen your waiting over 25 years for a discharge upgrade and you get it You really appreciate the speed of this app at least on iPhone . I anxiously wait for benefits I’ve been deserving of for over 25 years. I’ve had no recognition for my service and made me feel like less of a provider and not as proud as I should have. So I’m excited to see finally what I’ve earned. Thank you board of corrections for partial relief better late than never.Version: 1.7.0

My SanctuaryI cannot express how much the Veterans Administration in Richmond Virginia has turned my life around making me the man who I am today. I love being a Marine and the integrity it is taught me to be accountable and respectful to others. Problem is, it was a journey that text my soul and my body. The Doctors, Nurses, Specialist, Assistants (not to mention all the supporting roles that interact with we Veterans) at the Veterans Hospital in Richmond have been instrumentally and spiritually and helping me grow and rebuild my body. Whereas I’ve heard many veterans have challenges that have resulted in given opportunities for their individual growth; of the almost 25 years I’ve been going to the sanctuary I’ve had nothing but outstanding treatment. This new app has been another tool that has giving me the opportunity to submit this declaration, that I want the whole hospital to know, this is one Veteran that absolutely loves everybody who has done nothing but give and helping us (& me) in rebuilding our lives. From the deepest parts of my body, thank you for everything you have done for me and mine. God bless you all. OohRah, GitSum. SemperFi!!! 🇺🇸👍🏻 Phillip Mason Burroughs, US Marine Veteran.Version: 1.16.0

Really helpfulAs someone who frequently uses the VA website for disability claims and healthcare, this is a huge timesaver. I read in another review that there might soon be notifications of medical appointment changes. This would be huge since I’m usually not told when an appointment changes or gets cancelled. The only improvement I would like to see is an ability to refresh the status of a disability claim. For instance it is 4:30 in the afternoon now but it is showing my most recent status from when I checked it at 10pm yesterday. It seems you can only check it once per 24 hours with the app. This is fine most of the time but when they are getting close to publishing a final decision, I’d like to refresh more often. As it stands, this is now pushing me back to the website daily..Version: 1.7.0

VA ClaimThe process is very precise and well articulated. The referrals with private recorders and schedulers are highly efficient. Information disseminated as to relationships and protocols among parties appointed and involved enhances highly coordinated actions also highly instrumental to the claimant veteran being able to follow the procedures with clarity. Robust data provided by VA and third parties on line are truly appreciated. The VA mails received by claimant are exceptional supplements to understanding the procedural thought process. I commend your flawless methodology..Version: 1.42.0

It’s uselessCan’t use this app because it redirects to Safari browser which I don’t use (I uninstalled it because it’s garbage)on my iPhone. I don’t know why it redirects to a webpage to sign in because isn’t that WHY you have an app in the first place? To not have to use a webpage? Makes zero sense and since I have to sign in on the webpage I’ll just continue to do that as this app is basically useless. What a piece of junk..Version: 2.15.0

Reviewed my Babs LThis site is most helpful. I am older and there has been difficulty trying to complete the tasks I have to do. It seems that when I am typing a secured message to anyone I get the message almost complete and for some reason the message just disappears. Can you please let me know what the heck’s going on? It is soooo frustrating. Please keep in mind those of us that are older. Babsbluvd.Version: 2.19.0

Almost 5 starsThis app is great for sending secure messages to your doctor. It also reminds me of upcoming appointments and let’s me refill my prescriptions. But unlike my husband’s app for his civilian doctor, I cannot see lab or x ray results. I can’t read my chart. If I want these I have to go to the website and request a PDF, that I must then download and subsequently delete. I’d like to be able to see my glucose or A1C results without needing to download three months of medical records..Version: 2.23.0

HelloJust wanted to let you know how thankful we are to have the VA. My husband has had CRPS for the last twenty plus years. Our doctors just figured there was nothing that could be done. I decided to look into VA. Am so glad I did that. They took him on. When they started testing him they found Lung Cancer and Colon Cancer. He is in VA Care now and is feeling better. We had 40 radiation/Chem treatments. Then for the lungs we had 5 - 40 min radiation treatments. A little break. Tuesday back to Chemo thru a port. That will last for 6 months. Thanks to VA for being there for him. J Swanson.Version: 2.23.0

Appointments Not ShowingThis app is a game changer! I would give it 5 stars but in the last few months my appointments stopped populating in the App. I was using it to add my appointments directly to my calendar and to keep me on track. With all of the different appointments, times and dates it gets very confusing very quickly. If you can please fix the Appointments functionality on the App I would sincerely appreciate it. Besides the appointments the App is outstanding. I use it to see the status of my claims, track and refill my prescriptions, message my providers, download letters, and even track my payments history. Once the appointment functionality is working again I would say that this is one of, if not the most, important App on my phone..Version: 2.7.0

Awesome jobEveryday is such a struggle for my family and myself, but this app takes a lot of stress, worry, and feelings of loss and confusion at bay. I, myself, am so appreciative that I can not only access my records, but speak with ANYONE I need to speak with to get the help I need. I can see my test results and X-rays without having to just wait and except what the doctor says, as well as get any letters I need for whatever reason. I can’t tell you how grateful I am (as a 100% disabled veteran) for whoever developed this app giving us, the veteran, as well as our family more access to our healthcare. This app plays a huge role (I believe) in our being able to calm down and take an active role in keeping ourselves vibrate and healthy as much as is possible. To say thank you seems so contrite, yet sadly I have no other words to give. So thank you from the depths of my heart. It really means so very much to us all..Version: 1.34.0

Surprisingly better than I thoughtWell, I must admit, the VA has came along way since I got out of the military many years ago. I used to hate having to do anything VA related because of the service being so poor and slow. I expected this app to be the same. Luckily I was wrong and this app helps quite a bit. Sure, people can get on here and say what could be better, but they are probably brand new and don’t know what the VA used to be like haha. Good work VA, keep improving! It’s noticed!.Version: 1.26.0

I’m feeling lucky!I’ve been using the VA health system for several years and have been fortunate enough to also have been able to use the existing medical infrastructure outside of the VA. I am feeling very grateful for having the opportunity to use the VA medical system. I find it easy to navigate, and the people I have worked with have all been exceptional and their commitment to service and as far as I can see their qualifications are as good as any other health system, I’ve ever been, and worked in or had access to. In all honesty, I think our country would be well served to have this level of care available as a citizen of the United States..Version: 1.41.0

Good Start But…UPDATE QUESTION: Any update on adding prescription information and ability to reorder prescriptions via this app? I appreciate the VA coming out with an app like this and it is a good start. However I have a request. It would be nice when I get to my health information that I would also have a link or a tab where I could check my prescriptions and refill prescription without having to be directed to the website to log into my healthevet and do it from there. It would just streamline the process really nice. Please consider and thank you!.Version: 1.6.0

Prescription Refills and TrackingWith today update, supposedly we should be able to do refills and do tracking. I updated the VA app but I don’t see this functionality. Deleted the app and reinstalled it but nothing. Besides that I love this app. Checked the app today and the refills and tracking functionality is working great. Now if we can check our medical records this app will be amazing. Great job developers. Great app! A lot simpler to check messages, Appointments and now refill and track medication. It will be a 10 Stars if I could check my medical health records..Version: 1.41.0
