✓ 4-StarsNot the easiest app to wrap your head around. I’d give more for a step by step tutorial. I understand the object of the app, just wish it was simple enough to link my audio and use IA. Spent an hour trying to add a file then still have not figured out how to play the video file to see the generative effects. I switch to an audio app or ven Zenbeats DAW…doesn’t work in it. Can’t even see it as a plugin or an IA option either so not really sure even. It’s definitely not Nodes but then again…its just an app. But pretty to look at thats for sure. Buyer beware.. app doesn’t instruct on where to even begin. Demos are polished to entice, but leave the user confused as to how to jump in and start.. is what it is..Version: 1.1.2

✓ Delivers another dimension to musicNot really interested in making videos so I was hoping it could be for use in a live setting using the iPad. To do that ios DAWs would have to be configured for video. Not aware of any but I did have success using screen mirroring to various TV displays using AUM and Camelot Pro. For live use I would think HDMI would be the way to link to external display. Stand alone should save audio file with the patch. Right now the audio file, if you loaded one, stays no matter what patch you bring up. Still gave it 5 stars as it has evolved since release and has so much potential..Version: 1.3.4

✓ If only it worked… well it sort of doesI’ve had this app for 30 minutes and it has crashed 10 times already. Mostly when I try to load an audio file, but sometimes just when it wants to crash. I’ll persevere for a while but if it doesn’t get any better I’ll look into how to get a refund. It’s a pity, because I do need visuals to go with my music before posting on YouTube. UPDATE after a couple of days: it seems as if it can’t cope with “large” mp3 files being loaded. By that I mean around 10MB. So for the moment I’ve abandoned loading normal songs. Given that, it is now fairly stable, although it does occasionally freeze for a few seconds before carrying on as usual. I think it has potential, but I haven’t tried connecting or loading MIDI sources yet. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Going better now I have tried loading a MIDI file - though it took some experimentation to make things work as I wanted. My song is 5 minutes long and there is no way to seek to anywhere but the beginning. Please add a pause and resume feature, or even better, the ability to set the play cursor anywhere in the middle of the file and start playing from there..Version: 1.4.2
✓ AmazingUsed this app live with great success: Old iPhone connected to projector. Synthstrom Deluge with CME Widi sending Midi to up to 8 layers, different notes triggering different shapes/colours/patterns on the Imaginando VS app, all nicely synced to the music playing on the Deluge. Background layer was a bespoke 10min video clip I’d created on loop, but with the addition of the VS layers, no one noticed it looped 3-4 times during gig!:) Looking forward to more flexible / bigger choice of midi controllable artefacts. I’d love to be able to use midi to trigger pre-programmed words to appear and be manipulated:)x.Version: 1.3.1

✓ Apt Help Doesn’t WorkOnline documentation is for the desktop version. Settings are completely different in app. In app help doesn’t work. You might try a little less piazzas and a little more testing. For help not to work is inexcusable. Your online manual needs to be a PDF and for the iOS version. When using VSVS as a AUv3 you need to cover the whole display. What good are great graphics when you still display the AUM stuff at the top and the app’s menus and resize bar? It completely destroys the esthetics! You could use two-finger double tap. The only reason I gave you 4-stars is I like your granular synth..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Does What It SaysIf your making music to share believe me when I say nobody is waiting in line to watch you fiddle around with touch screen knobs and such. Get this and take your performance videos to another level. VS paired with many inexpensive midi controllers such as the MiniLab3 is a live visual showcase waiting to happen. Do the tutorials so you don’t get frustrated like I did, I gave these guys a hard time about some things early on because I didn’t put the effort into learning it right away.. after a bit Imaginando has proven to be good at what they do and this app is spot on the market, worth the asking price, especially if you have had a hand in shaders..Version: 1.4.2

Some ideas for future updates?This is a really cool app! been messing around with GLSL coding for a few months, and the implementation of custom GLSL shaders is really great and intuitive in VS. There are a couple of things I would love to see added in future updates: - more ways to interact between different layers such as displacement of one layer to another and feedback loops. - post processing effects such as luma key, feedback, kaleidoscope, mirror or others. - option to load videos and images in the layers other than the B layer Maybe too much to ask? 😅.Version: 1.3.2
✓ Visual InspirationI use this app to make videos for my songs for YouTube. I can’t believe all of the things that I can visualize with it. I really appreciate the fact that the materials can be edited. My only request would be making the materials code editor to be able to change the font size, as I am blind :-) this doesn’t detract at all from the value and capabilities of this app. I look forward to using it on even more of my music videos..Version: 1.4.0
✓ A massive step in the right directionSo far so good - updates coming thick and fast, full screen over hdmi. Fingers crossed we will eventually be able to add shaders to the library, but in spite of that it’s still a great way to get realtime audio and midi triggered visuals, and for musicians this is the perfect starting point..Version: 1.0.2
