I got about a 60% correct return when checking my house plants. I did this directly through the AppStore so in the end all was ok. For me the cost is too much - I am interested in plants but not at £60 a year in one lump sum and the shorter timeframes we’re definitely cost prohibitive. I signed up for the free trial but the app refuses to recognize that I have a trial account. When I click “Restore” I get an error message that says “No valid purchase”, and then when I scan a plant in the identifier it won’t display the articles about the species I get hits for. This is an expensive subscription so I think I deserve a chance to make sure I like all the features before buying it. So I’m probably gonna cancel tomorrow. ✓ Good concept poor executionDoesn’t save the photo or health analysis of the plant, just a generic pic in the my plant’s section. Doesn’t recommend specific amount or numbers of days to water- nothing more than a reminder app that you fill in on your own. The analysis I did get gave me a 50% likelihood that my plant was overwatered and a 50% chance it was underwatered. Trying to cancel but ofc they make that super difficult. My partner warned me she had tried and and thought it was useless. They claim in responses to reviews that you have to go in your phone settings to cancel yet they make sure those instructions are not available in the actual app. I know for a fact I canceled and the app said my subscription would end the following week yet they were still able to charge me and contacting Apple, they make you wait for a 48 hour review to see if they will refund. Apple trying to tell me that they don’t see the cancel on their end until the day I filed the dispute. Because the app is a scam and makes you think you canceled in-app just to scam you out of money. Clicking the manage subscription button in-app, there should be a clear message there saying you have to go in your settings on your phone and cancel. I wanted the PLNT Plant and tree identifier app to help me identify plants and trees in my garden and on my walks in the woods. I took a picture of the unknown plant and the app gave me 3 possibilities. I showed the 3 possibilities to my neighbor because she is a professional botanist and a professor of botany at my local university. I knew the plant was a hydrangea by that point. It was the poorest identification app my botanist friend had ever seen. Now I cannot even cancel unless I contact “support” via email. I did send an email to support requesting immediate cancellation of my free trial but who knows what happens in support. My free trial expires at midnight on the 6th of June. ✓ Very limited free trial?I identified/added 2 plants and then it wouldn’t let me do anymore. It said something along the lines of, “To get the most out of our app, subscribe,” and the costs per week, month etc. Not sure how it’s a free 3 day trial if you are extremely limited after barely 5 minutes.
