✓ AppWhy did you upgrade the app there was nothing wrong with the old one. The new app wouldn’t let me pay with my cc it used my personal card and I missed out out the extra 5c Also you had a promotion a couple of months ago if you fuel that day you were eligible for a promotion which were a Valero cup and two other things with the Valero signage. Well I never got anything a notice. Why do you deceive ppl with these promotions!?!.Version: 5.4.0
✓ DON’T GET SUCKERED!Listen, don’t get suckered into thinking you’ll get 10¢ off every gallon just for using this app!! The app definitely makes you think that if you link the debit card associated with your checking account to their app, then you’ll receive 10¢ off every gallon when you use the Valero Pay app to do the mobile pay function. NOPE! Look VERY CLOSELY at this. You need to go to “Link your account now!” under the Valero ValuePay marketing on their app’s homepage — then you need to click on the + sign, and THEN you need to select “Valero ValuePay” and enter all your personal contact info info (inc personal info AND your driver’s license info!) before you can be approved for this discount. It’s totally ridiculous..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Needs A LOT of workThis app is a great and convenient way to pay for gas and get a small discount….. if it WORKED! I have had the app for 2 months now and 50% of time I still have to swipe my card (which I then miss out on the discount) for various reasons. 1. Store location is incorrect in app and therefore the app can’t be used because you are not “close enough” per the gps when you are actually next to the pump. 2. The app does not load. 3. The app loads, but denies the pump to “be available at this time” and after you try 3 different pumps, the app shuts down for 24 hours. 4. There is no “fix this” setting in the app. One could wonder if the intermittent running of the app is purposeful to allow Valero to continue with increased profits..Version: 1.0.1
✓ The app upgrade is not user friendly!I having been using this app for a long time but I do not like the app upgrade. It doesn’t save my information to log on and it take too long to log into just to get gas. The old version was quick and simple. I used it for the simplicity and savings but find myself using my card more often than not due to app not finding the location or it take forever to log into each time..Version: 5.4.0
✓ Poor customer serviceI tried signing up for Valero pay plus app. It created my account partially- used my email I’d but not proceeding with mobile number. Contacting customer service was worst experience who does not even now how to understand the issue. Asking me to apply for card which is not actually necessary. I can simply signup and use my other credit card. Looks like they are just trained to sell Valero credit card or ignore other customers..Version: 1.0
✓ Unreliable at Best Fraudulent at WorstRarely works and when it does the discounts are never what they promise. I even went as far as to get their credit card to take full advantage but the card has never once been able to be used as a payment method in the app even though it synced to the app as soon as I was approved. Got the physical card a week later and activated it and still will not work as a payment method and to date I have never once since the initial use have I received the promised discounts in full. So like I say at best it’s unreliable. But more than likely it’s purposefully fraudulent promises to bolster sales by “glitching” and not giving the discounts as promised. I will be sending my complaint to the State Attorney General’s Office for review of False Advertising and Predatory Practice..Version: 4.13.2
✓ It’s not what I thoughtI was hoping for an easier way to manage my Valero CC. I hate that I have to log in online to pay my card. I was hoping this app would also provide the opportunity for me to do that too. It’s great that you can pay for gas using this app but would have been ideal if it did both..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Couldn’t get app to work at allI like using Valero gas stations so to me the app would’ve been a great bonus and provide a savings to me. Imagine my disappointment, when I found that I could not sign up for the app. No matter how hard I tried, and I did try, I was unable to get the app to load. It said several times, but I had successfully logged the account, but when I tried to login., I could not get past the phone number verification each time I put in my correct phone number. It simply said there was an error. I tried with different email addresses. I have several each time the account was set up successfully, but couldn’t get past the second party phone verification. Since other people were successful successful in creating their accounts, there must be something that I’m doing wrong, but I’m not sure what..Version: 4.13.2
✓ Needs Updating…I have been using the ValeroPay app for about a month, and I have mixed feelings about it. While the app has a sleek user interface and is generally easy to use, I have encountered significant issues with it at the pump. Every time I pull up to a Valero pump, I cannot connect to the pump using the app, despite repeatedly trying to connect. I've had some success using the app to pay inside the store, but even then, I've noticed that the transaction does not appear in my transaction history. This lack of transparency is frustrating, and I'm not sure why the app isn't updating my transaction history. Overall, while the ValeroPay app has some useful features, I've had too many issues with it to recommend it to others. I’m a seasoned user of apps, but this one doesn’t seem to working seamlessly. That said, I like the digital direction that Valero has taken and I hope the app improves..Version: 4.13.2
✓ App doesn’t workThe new version of this app doesn’t work. It does not find any gas stations on the map when you try to search for them and when you’re at the pump to try to pay it doesn’t even recognize that you’re sitting at one of their gas stations. The old app was perfect. Got the discounts and use the map. This one is awful. I can’t use it at all, please go back to the old version or fix this one!.Version: 5.4.1
✓ MisleadingThe whole reason somebody would download this app would to be save money on gas. Especially during times where the price of gas is extremely inflated saving a bit where anyone can is especially important. This all is misleading and you don’t actually save anything. The only time you do save money is on the initial sign-up where you get the $.20 off a gallon. After you save your debit card to the app, all it does is process your debit card as debit and masks the discount as just the debit price for gas. If you don’t download the app and just charge as a debit card you get the same price. There’s no actual savings. They just mask the $.10 you would normally save by charging debit as in-app savings. The app itself functions fine, no bugs, it’s designed decently. But that doesn’t matter when the core purpose of this app is misleading and not truthful. It is a bit weird that the app does ask for your drivers license as well though. It just seems like they’re trying to harvest and sell data and pretend you’re saving money. It’s not worth your time..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Don’t workThe initial offer sounded great so I downloaded it added my Valero credit card first gas station I stopped at that have kept saying it was too far away I’ll look at the map it shows the gas station several blocks away so I went to the next one the app cannot authorize the pump kept coming up with an error and even the next couple of ones I have tried completely useless.Version: 1.0
✓ Total trash scam artistsI’ve been charged $25 twice on top of my original transactions because I have two different payment methods linked and they keep taking deducting it from the wrong bank and charging me for insufficient funds purposely. Not sure how I didn’t learn my lessons using the app the first time they scammed me. Also won’t let me remove my bank from the app. What a joke. They sent it to a collections agency immediately even though they purposely deducted it from wrong card..Version: 4.13.2
✓ No way to add new bank accountI liked this app and was using it for the discount until I changed banks and there’s no way to update banking info. Adding a bank account is the only way to get the discount. I can’t delete the old account in payments to add a new account. It automatically says your account has been added. Deleting and reloading the app doesn’t help because my info is in the cloud and my other payment options are still there..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Needs work I thinkIve only been able to use it twice and its been great .. however i cant seem to use it more than that it just keeps giving me an error message saying it cant be authorized and i have tried to use it at the same place all times..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Theoretically a Good IdeaI wish this app would have accurate info as far as gas prices at all locations, it’s extremely hit or miss (if it worked for all locations it would be easy to plan which location to get gas from based on cost). It’s only maybe 50% accurate and some locations don’t show the cost at all so not super helpful. I learned the hard way the first time I drove to a specific location based on the cost in the app only to find out that it was waaaayy off. I hope it works someday.Version: 1.0.1
✓ App does not work!!!!Please fix your “updated” version of your app. It does not find the gas station that I frequently use, which is about a mile away. When I am sitting at the pump it doesn’t recognize that you are sitting there. The previous version worked great….it gave you the discounts, found the gas station, etc. it worked great!! ✓ Incomplete and inconsistentThere is no way to make a payment on your Valero gas card. This commonly seen feature in other apps while very practical and convenient is missing. You also cannot use the app to pay for gas at some stations even though they have the technology at the pump. Multiple times approval to pump gas is seen on the app and at the pump but soon afterwards the sales is forced closed at zero..Version: 4.13.2
✓ Bring back the ability to bypass the locationAs the title says, you used to be able to bypass that you’re not close enough to the gas station notification it would pop up it looks like they got rid of that on this app so I was literally at one of the pumps at my gas station and I had to move to a closer pump because my phone had me not at the gas station by 200 feet. Some phones would probably be even worse than that, if the GPS isn’t as accurate rendering the app useless. Please fix that I’d get five stars..Version: 4.13.1
