✓ The organization my brain has been waiting forAs a songwriter, I find that my ideas are all over the place. I jot down lyrics in my notes app while walking down the street and melodies in my voice memos in the middle of work. When I go back later to start piecing things together, I find that I spend an annoying amount of time just searching for all of that material. This app has cut out all of that wasted time searching and kept things neat and organized so I can focus more on the creativity without wasting time or energy just trying to find my ideas. ✓ I Love ThisThis app lets me quickly demo any idea and turn that idea into a full fledged song whenever I want. I don’t like the minutiae that gets in the way of the energy that I have when I’m trying to be creative. The chord generator alone saves me hours of time fiddling with a keyboard or dragging midi files around. The ability to create and drag and drop different ideas into your song and have the lyrics and everything laid out like a Kanban board rules but feels weird - like it’s a hack or something haha. It allows my creativity to really just spill out super quickly and has ignited a new spark in my process, to be honest. I decided to get the paid version pretty quickly. It is an app that unlike others in its field that allows you to input live instruments. Love it! My concern is as a more diverse and complex writer I would love the option to have more chord options or even build your own chords like competitor apps (being able to do Augmented Chords and select the notes of the chords would be awesome). ✓ Great! But…This is a fantastic app. It’s honestly life changing as a songwriter to be able to write songs and create demos so quickly. The accompaniments are terrific and allow for so much variety. As a jazz songwriter it would be nice to have a few more esoteric chord options and a larger My Chords section to allow for chromaticism and modulations. Saying that, all of the essential standard jazz chords are included and make this an ideal tool for all styles including jazz and jazz influenced music. Incredible!.Version: 1.1

✓ Very fun even for a noviceI downloaded this app purely for fun with no professional songwriting knowledge and made a song I’m really proud of. You can choose chords and manipulate notes and tempo. I enjoyed all the sounds you could use in the free mode. The lyrics page is so helpful, I liked being able to isolate parts on repeat and easily move the song parts around. The problems I had were that the app would crash if I tried to record after I had all my song parts together which was sad cuz I got premium so I could layer voices:( More freedom with the instruments, like maybe some drum/guitar kits so that a particular beat or strum pattern could be achieved. Also it would be nice to record some voice before/after the music track has finished and fade in/out because it abruptly cuts off at the end of the track. But overall a really nice app!.Version: 1.5

If I had to be incredibly greedy I would ask that you guys add a dictionary alongside the rhymes you guys already have. ✓ Extremely helpful for songwriters & musiciansI never normally write reviews but I feel like this app has to be the exception because it’s so brilliant! As a vocalist and keyboard player, it’s a great tool for me to write songs on the go when I can’t have a keyboard with me. The library of different chords is huge and I like the way it gives recommended chords based on the key you’re writing in. The yearly subscription is 100% worth the money & I like the fact that it’s yearly rather than monthly. This app allows anyone to easily write and record demos of original songs & the full version is great value for money which makes it accessible to everyone. In terms of improving the app, I’d say maybe some more variety of the way the chords can be played & maybe the option to have acoustic or electric guitar. I’d also love to see some more genres/sub genres eg. Country pop, pop rock, rock, Irish, indie, classic rock, metal, bluegrass, punk, pop punk ect.. As someone with a lot of musical ideas that float in, I’ve been wanting something like this to exist and it’s cool that it does. I wish you could choose any chord from the drop down tab at any moment instead of just the ones listed.. weirdly sometimes it works and other times doesn’t. Also wish the percussion was slightly more adjustable like maybe a sequencer? and less “genre” labeled (a little corny) but alas! It’s functional as a place to jot down ideas and still pretty customizable with the meter. I like that it’s simple and not trying to be more than an app for on the fly “demo” style ideas. This is one of those things in life that make you think: “I can’t believe this exists” everytime you use it. I can’t even begin to describe how incredible Demo has been for my creativity. It allows me not only to create with endless possibilities, but also learn a great deal about structure, music, and sound. I hope I’ll one day be able to release something and that will be all thanks to Demo. A few tweaks here and there (eg it is limited to only three instruments, and there’s not much flexibility in changing how sounds go) but the future is bright for this amazing service to the creative industry. ✓ Please add rock samples!I absolutely love this app. I struggle with putting together instrumentals (before this I had lyrics written for 10 songs with no instrumentals, I now have 3 demo recordings after 1 day of having this app), so would absolutely recommend to anyone I meet! However, please consider adding some rockier/grunge/alternative tracks to work with, it would be a massive help to me, and I’m sure to many others too, and would just take this app from being great to excellent. ✓ Good Beginners AppI got this app because I am a songwriter, and it’s hard sometimes to figure out the correct rhythms for different sections of a song. This app has a lot of different choices for that, but the layout is frustrating, because you can’t add sections in between others, for example, I can’t add a verse in between a chorus and a bridge. You have to create them in order, which is annoying for someone like me who changes things a lot as they go. But overall this is a pretty helpful app for the average songwriter..Version: 1.2.1
✓ Yesss!!I love this app! Perfect for getting down song ideas with chordal information and lyrics all in one spot. It’s also helped me a lot with being able to play with more complicated chord progressions, as I can play it back and hear how it sounds. Then record my idea over it! So cool! There’s some areas that are open for improvement - ie. not being able to rearrange parts of the songs by dragging them up or down - if you’re recording you have to record the whole track, and not pick a section to record (particularly annoying when doing BV’s. I also can’t find a way to backup my ideas, which does make me a bit nervous if the app ever died/crashed with all my song babies in there. But it’s seriously a fantastic app for getting an idea down in a fairly fleshed out, easy to use manner!.Version: 1.1
✓ Great songwriting toolSlightly limited in a couple of ways but it’s so close to being perfect that I’d rather just enjoy what’s there than complain. It’s like having a very basic inexperienced band play whatever song ideas you come up with. They only have a dozen different sounds but it doesn’t matter. Its still awesome. You can arrange complete compositions and record yourself on multiple tracks. There’s also a cool interface for adding lyrics. And it’s just an awesomely stylized design as well. ✓ Super cool, room for amazing potentialLove the app, happy with it. I hope new sound’s come though, pretty quickly, the melodies start sounding the same. A ton of work has gone into this app, one can see with the music key choice and layering. For recording, please add a mute button, there are time’s when I am layering vocal’s and want to mute the microphone, until it’s time to sing, or if I want to take a deep breath, but don’t want to record it. Love how everything integrates. Hope they add some deeper ‘beat’ sounds and heavier bass tracks because it’s such nice software, but limited in the mature sound department. To help prevent the sound’s blurring together and being boring, a few little tweak button’s, could make the melody part’s sound cool and richer. 5 stars for ingenuity for this app, 4 star’s for the crashes, which have lost some great recording’s lol, but overall, love this app. Hope more sounds come though, to prevent everything from sounding the same..Version: 1.5

I can take a walk and work on what’s in my head and always be given some sort of surprise by randomizing the style. I wished it had a rhythm and drum track. And few more synth and sound variations especially for a subscription. I do think the chords aspect of the app needs some improving: 1. There is no option to add an augmented chord. Seems most other chord options are there, but I was surprised when I could not find an option to make the chord augmented anywhere. 2. Sometimes it does not play the correct chord back (for instance, if I have an Eb9 chord, it just plays a regular Emaj chord) Response to developer: thanks so much for the response! ✓ So helpful!If you’re like me and your mind moves a million miles a minute with words and melodies but you get slowed down by the technicalities of changing keys, trying different progressions, trying to mastermind the music side… then this app takes that factor away! Another problem I had with songwriting is I have all these random Lyrics and music and I don’t have the patience to go back and listen to a hundred voice memos. Here I can record it with some real quick edits (and even add drums, lyrics, etc.) and come back to a whole thought. It makes it so much easier for me to get to a finished product! This app does a good job balancing out features for more advanced musicians vs beginner-intermediate. It doesn’t set out to do everything, but it really is your modern day songwriting pocketbook planner. That’s the feel I get from it. Just note that this doesn’t replace a DAW or anything like GarageBand on iOS. This gets you in position to have everything in perfect order prior to a recording session, tho, which is priceless. ✓ Actually usefulThe app so far has worked great, the free stuff is a bit limited but it’s great for when you’re working on the go and don’t have an instrument, it gives you great chord progressions and interesting sounds, but if you’re looking for freedom within the instruments sadly I haven’t found that (with the free version) the drum sounds all correlate with the bass and piano, and there isn’t a guitar strumming sound (again with free) however if you’re looking to get lots of chord progressions this works wonderfully and the way it separates verses is also great, keep in mind though the app isn’t 10+ years old, and is made by musicians, so everything I’ve mentioned Im sure will be adjusted, added, fixed or I just haven’t seen yet, over all this app is great and Ima keep my eye on it.Version: 1.4.3
