NYC COVID SAFE for Negative User Reviews

Great that it exists but seems limited valueI love that this exists but I can get the same functionality out of my phones “photos” app. I would prefer that there is some kind of verification or review of the CDC card. Also the date of final vaccinations start December 14 and as a part of clinical trials there are a few thousand people in nyc(including me) that had their final doses as early as August 2020..Version: 1.0.0

Password not requiredPlease make it optional to have to use passcode to open app. Often my mask is on when I use it so I have to input the passcode. Risk of misuse is minimal..Version: 1.0.3

Confused by App contentI’m travelling to USA in April with an Antigen Covid19 test taken day before travel. This is acceptable under USA Entry Requirements but this App recommended by British Airways only refers to a PCR test taken within the last 7 days. Does that mean the negative Antigen test results are not acceptable in NYC establishments?.Version: 1.3.0

Inadequate for a Global CentrrI received my vaccination in a clinical trial for a vaccine that is approved by the World Health Organization (and therefore eligible for a CDC vaccination card), but that does not yet have an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food & Drug Administration. This app, however, requires specifically selecting the vaccine from a pull-down menu that only lists the vaccines that already have an EUA. Thus, for example, it cannot be used by a British resident who received the AstraZeneca vaccine..Version: 1.0.1

While I applaud the intent, the execution is poorI applaud NYC’s move to require proof of vaccination for certain indoor activities. However, this app does nothing to verify the authenticity of a document uploaded. Unlike the Excelsior app, this does not check with the state database. I’m not sure how to fix that issue to account for tourists from states that don’t offer vaccine passports, but hopefully until city will figure that out..Version: 1.0.0

Green check mark??Some places ask that you have the green check mark on the app as verification. I uploaded all of my pictures and no green check mark appeared. No clear way as to how to get it..Version: 1.0.2

Not all Vaccines coveredApp only allows 3 Vaccines to be selected, not all WHO approved vaccines.Version: 1.0.3

Surely you are jokingThere is a scene in the first season of Silicon Valley where a guy describes his app for writing down where you parked your car. “Like Notepad?” Richard says. This app is like notepad. My phone already has a photo gallery and I can already pin any photo to my Home Screen for quick access. What a ridiculous, stupid fraud of an app..Version: 1.0.1

UnreliableI uploaded my vaccine and Id. Used it in September and November and today when I opened the app, my data was gone! I needed my card and ID and for whatever reason it cleared my data. Awful implementation!.Version: 1.3.0

Missing WHO EUL vaccinesThe NYC.gov list has four other vaccines that are acceptable including AstraZeneca. If this app is meant for international visitors it is not currently fit for purpose..Version: 1.0.3

TrashThis is trash. The excelsior wallet was able to gather my info and create a digital pass. I can just take a photo of my vaccine card or any vaccine card and use it. Also why do you need a copy of my ID. Total trash..Version: 1.0.0

Requires IOS 13 or laterIf you have an older phone you will not be able to download the app.🙁.Version: 1.0.2

Needs AstraZenecaSimple, but needs AstraZeneca and other vaccines that are recognised by the CDC for entry to the USA and in many venues, but not on this app. Makes you a “I confirm this information is accurate” in order to upload the certificate, so puts you in an awkward position, given that this is the preferred app for NYC venues..Version: 1.0.3

Glorified camera app with no record validationUnlike the Excelsior Pass, this app does nothing to actually verify vaccination or testing records. You can Google how people uploaded photos of menus (or even their cat) and the app recognized it as “valid” proof of immunization. What an unfortunate use of taxpayer dollars to release an app that provides a false sense of security and no benefit over using the stock Camera app that comes with every iOS device..Version: 1.0.1

Why botherThis app only displays an image of your card that you upload yourself. It doesn’t verify any data or check for fraud. Why not just use your phone’s photo app? How many millions of dollars was spent of my tax money for this junk?.Version: 1.0.1

Needs more workThere is no “help” item in the setting. Not all WHO approved vaccination brands included. I could not complete the process because of this issue..Version: 1.0.1

How do you add to your apple wallet?I can’t figure out how to add my card to the apple wallet using this app. I don’t see any options.Version: 1.0.3

Nice app, room for improvement. This app is very simple to use basic and does the job however it would be nice if it would include loading these documents into your wallet so everything’s in one place..Version: 1.3.0

Doesn’t support AstraZenecaCan’t use as does not support AstraZeneca.Version: 1.0.3

Test resultTested positive in December, now infectious clear but don’t need to carry out testing for 90 days per USA CDC guidelines. App doesn’t allow you to show evidence that you have had Covid and completed 10 days isolation. Travelling to NYC in Feb from UK and advised to use this app but it isn’t going to be beneficial for us as is..Version: 1.3.0

App needed for child under 17My daughters are under 17 and need the app to enter certain venues, especially during school trips and family events. I’m not sure how NYC expects children under 17 to show proof at these venues but then prevents them from having access to such an important app..Version: 1.3.0

Needs updating for 5th shot! They need to make it possible to add another vaccine page - now that people can have a 5th shot, that info appears on the other side of the vaccine card. Right now the app can just accept one side of the card..Version: 1.3.0

There is no use...This is just a pointless app, you can do the same exact thing on your camera and photos app. All you do is take a picture and then the photo stays there..Version: 1.0.1

International travellers’ vaccines not includedUnfortunately this is a very low-tech application. Simply stores photographs of paper documents. No possibility to link electronic records or even choose vaccines outside of the USA (e.g. AstraZeneca) New York is an international hub and after 8th November will be even more and varied vaccines to list..Version: 1.0.3

Pointless for non US residentAsked by BA to use the app. Yet the really low quality app doesn’t list anything other than 3 vaccines choices. AZ not here, so essentially pointless.Version: 1.0.3

Useless? It’s not the excelsior pass and there’s no verification or special features or anything. Can’t even add to passbook. It just stored a photo of my drivers license and vaccine card. I could just show that from my photos app for the same effect. I am honestly now worried only exists to collect my data and just deleted..Version: 1.0.6

So stupidThis is a really dumb use of taxpayer money (about $17mm, I read?), space on my phone, and everyone’s time. It just lets you upload pictures onto a… new app that also shows those pictures. It is actually a joke— why not just show people the original pictures? So unnecessary— thanks, government! One more stupid, pointless rule I have to follow!.Version: 1.0.2

Won’t allow 2 photosFor my 2nd booster, they had to use an additional vaccine card because my other was full. Similarly, for my daughter’s 2nd shot we forgot to bring her vaccine card, so they put it on a 2nd card. This app doesn’t allow one to add multiple photos for the same person..Version: 1.3.0

Vaccine Trials - Does Not Allow Dates Pre Dec 2020I was in the vaccine trials. In January 2021, I asked to be unblinded from the study. Doctors confirmed I received the vaccine - not the placebo. I have been fully vaxed since October 2020. I cannot I put this date into the app. Also, my card is two- sided. My name is on one side and my vaccine info on the other. Can app developers address this issue ?.Version: 1.0.1

Add 3rd dose section as optional1) Add 3rd dose section as optional for those having received their Booster Shots 2) Also allow 1st / 2nd dose dates to be September-October 2020 (many of us were in the Moderna or Pfizer clinical trials, and mid-December 2020 is the earliest date we can choose as our 2nd dose)..Version: 1.0.2

PointlessThere is ZERO point to having this app. All it does is let you add a photo of your vaccine card or recent test. There’s no verification, making this a glorified version of the photos app on your phone. Just save the pic to your favorites so you can find it easily and be done with it. I only bumped it from one star to two stars because the pointless feature actually worked..Version: 1.0.1

Why - in 7 daysWhen you fully vaccinated and have no symptoms, do you really need to take another test just to be able to use the APP? Unless I have a solid reason to take another test I’ll not do it just for the app.Version: 1.0.1

Can’t upload two profiles to the appThis airport design for the kids where everyone in the family has their own phone,If you wanna upload your child’s vaccine or your spouse on the same app there is no way to do it.Version: 1.0.1

Useless appAt first I thought there was something more digital attached to it but it’s literally no different than taking pics of your stuff. You better off getting the Excelsior Pass..Version: 1.0.1

Date function on vaccine tab not workingI tried to enter the date of my second shot and though I could change the month, it always reverted back to “today’s date”..Version: 1.0.1

Only for 17+, sillyKids 12+ can now get vaccinated and it’s required in certain venues but the app can’t be installed on their device unless Apple sees they’re 17+. Makes no sense as this app just stores photos but requires 17+ by the developer..Version: 1.0.1

Needs enhancements for additional photosSecond sides and additional cards needs to be able to be included for vaccines. I cant believe this is not here yet.Version: 1.3.0

Cant add child even though it appears as an optionI see the developers were able to add a child tab a few weeks ago into the app but the name field won’t let you edit so you really cannot add the child after all..Version: 1.3.0

PointlessWith all that has been going on—what makes them think people won’t make a phony card and upload it?.Version: 1.0.1

VaccinesAstraZeneca is not listed under the vaccines. So I will be unable to use the App during my trip to USA. Will this be updated?.Version: 1.0.3

NYC Covid app is outdated and useless.I am supposed to present my Covid tests and boosters to be at a recording of a late night talk show. This app doesn’t allow for any booster information and I have had two. I went to Africa with the state of California app which shows every shot taken including date, mfg, vial number etc. I also got GoGetDoc. It lets you put in all the data you have as well. The show requires this app, NHS app (I do t live in the UK), Canadian app. Perhaps you could fix it? Folks travel to NYC from outside the state.Version: 1.3.1

Still need the Excelsior pass to prove you’re not fraudingThe app just saves pictures you upload, that’s it..Version: 1.0.1

App needs to add all WHO-approved brandsNYC will now accept all approved WHO vaccinations. Therefore, the app needs to provide all those brands in the drop-down menu..Version: 1.0.1
