✓ Meridian 157 is one of the finest escape games!I’ve played many escape games. Some were very easy and others extremely difficult (and often frustrating due to their lack of logic). This game was challenging, fun and enjoyable to play (thanks for the hint button by the way). The 3D graphics were great and the music eery. This added an extra level of excitement and tension to the game. The story, from the prologue to the final chapter (3), left me wanting to find out what that Artifact was and how it destroyed so much. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to play the game again starting with the prologue. Thanks again Novosoft. I’ll be looking for new games from you guys..Version: 1.0.9
✓ One of the best of the genreI really loved all three chapters of the game. I started with the free prologue not knowing anything about the game, and no intention of paying anything for it. But I really enjoyed the gameplay, puzzles and overall immersive experience. It got me hooked. I gladly paid for Chapter One and it was even better than the prologue. Each chapter is better than the next...and they get longer with each one. The end is stunning. I really enjoy adventure puzzle games like this, and have played a lot of them... Meridian definitely ranks among the best of them. The puzzles were challenging but most solvable without any hints... but in the few cases I got stuck, I really appreciated that the developer built in a very thoughtful hint system to get you unstuck without giving away the entire secret of the puzzle. Twice I got stuck so badly I started looking for hints on the internet…and since I couldn’t find anything without watching a whole solution video (I don’t like those while I’m playing too)…I just had to stare at the problem until I finally saw it. I really liked the calculator puzzle, that was brilliant! Thank you for such an entertaining conclusion to the story. You guys could have phoned it in, but you didn’t. ✓ Pay attention - anything can be a clue!Love these games and sad this is the last one. Using the camera to take snaps of anything you think might be a hint is a very clever inclusion in the game. It means the puzzles can be quite challenging but you never have to write anything down so it is really immersive. I like how there is less "hidden object" in this one than the previous ones. If I had one criticism it is that I found 2 of the least intuitive puzzles are right near the beginning of the game (the squares and the moving pipes). It is the perfect balance of difficulty and playability, meaning I can leave for a week or 3 and figure out where I left off. And big mahalos for adding a hint button. Nothing like getting stuck in a game and having to pay extra or search for answers online. I admit I used it 2 or 3 times and I got just enough of a nudge to get me back on track quickly without ruining the experience of the adventure. ✓ I’m a fan!When I happened upon the Prologue awhile back, I wasn’t sure if I’d like the game, and here we are, 3 chapters later. I absolutely loved playing each and every one! You don’t have to have games that are filled with interaction with other characters for them to A) be enjoyable and B) make sense. Meridian 157 was great from the prologue through chapter 3. Sometimes it is difficult to see what item(s) you need to pick up, due to darkened areas throughout the locations, but help is just a tap away. The puzzles aren’t child’s play, however, you don’t need a PhD either; there’s just enough to make you think, without having an aneurism. Great job!.Version: 1.0.7

✓ Overall goodPuzzles are about what you’d expect for a game like this, and I was genuinely stuck several times during its prologue and three chapters. Wifey saved the day! Although the graphics are very detailed and at times quite lovely (in the all too brief times spent outdoors), the indoor scenery was largely drab, dreary and claustrophobic. Maybe that’s what they were going for, but I thought that it significantly detracted from the overall experience. One fairly huge loose end that was never satisfactorily resolved was the fate and primary roll of a major character, although it’s implied..Version: 1.1.0

The atmosphere, the storyline, the pacing, graphics, puzzles, everything about these games takes my breath away. If you've ever played Facility 47 by InertiaSoft (I think?) before it unfortunately disappeared from the app store, Meridian 157 should feel familiar and nostalgic. I’m not sure I could have completed the games without it. I think the second game was my favourite - mainly because of the beautiful, snowy landscape in its final part. Which brings me to a small criticism. I found the games endless tunnels and corridors at times confusing and a bit boring. But don’t let that put you off. ✓ AmazingWow. I played this on the hard setting and without no cheating or watching a walkthrough. Took a few days of on and off playing. As with the others by this dev, the environment is vast, puzzles are layered, puzzle difficulty is from medium to pretty hard and the environment design is perfect for the setting. And again, without any hints, the game can take some time. But no puzzle was unsolvable - all made total sense once complete. For 2.99, certainly worth every penny and more. Hoping for another game by this dev soon! Get this you will not be disappointed! ✓ When’s the next game?This is the best adventure game I’ve played since Myst. Usually I give up before the end of a game, but not this time. I did use the hints - a lot! - and often had to stop playing for a day so I could start a new train of thought. The point and click works well on my iPad, you don’t need or miss continuous scrolling. The puzzles range from quite straightforward to serious brainwork. There are lots of maps for folk like me who get lost immediately; after I got through Myst I had a whole notebook of scribblings. ✓ So good I had to literally clap at the endThe whole series was enjoyable but this chapter was especially satisfying. I played with no hints, which I highly recommend. A few of the puzzles were particularly gratifying. Difficult enough that I found myself completely invested, flipping back and forth between studying the puzzle and studying my photos, my brain pushing to come at it from every angle, the eerie music complimenting the experience. And when it finally clicked, it was a serious dopamine rush. The solution making perfect sense. Many similar games seem to miss this mark, puzzles being either far too easy or difficult but only because they make no sense… even after you solve them. These creators found that balance. The end of Meridian 157: Chapter 3 leaves me with many questions but only one big one, “When will the next game come out?!!?!” I know that it says The End but will there possibly be a follow up? New character(s) coming to the island after seeing that big anomaly we caused in chapter 3?? Or will we possibly go back in time to when F.L.A.R.E started and see a whole new perspective? Or will we come back as one of the ghost people seeing if our work is or is not complete?? So many questions and I can only hope that they will be answered. ✓ Fantastic!The biggest chapter so far…. These guys are the best! I’m absolutely loving this game, quite tricky in parts but that’s the beauty of their work. So original, I just don’t understand why apple doesn’t plaster something of this quality across the games first page it’s ridiculous as I nearly missed it again, luckily I always return to meridian when I’m looking for a game similar imagine my delight when I saw a 3rd chapter! Extremely impressed by the atmospheric, immersive experience created by the ambient soundtrack. As a musician, I am biased in this direction, but it is really well done throughout the chapters. I loved playing without the hint option, because it just made me persevere and each time I solved something it was extremely satisfying! This is not a repetitive style game where you fall into a pattern of knowing how to do things. It constantly challenges you with a variety of puzzles unlike ANY I have ever played. I’m doing a written play through 4 my benefit but have come 2 a halt in the mess hall in expert mode - I’m sure the pipe didn’t need fixing in easy mode 4 the dumb waiter? I’m through the unlit passage & into the caverns in easy mode, but can’t 4 the life of me figure out the missing pipe part in hard. Unlike some I like spoilers - even if it is an inevitable one. I loved how diverse and complex all of the puzzles were (both the literal puzzles as well as the long term problem solving), and as someone who usually needs to take screenshots with this type of game the camera feature was a life saver. I also loved how much lore was added through simple things like letters and diary entries. I have to admit that I also appreciated how accessible the hints were, and how they gave just enough information to keep going without completely spoiling anything. ✓ A true puzzle adventureI played all 4 chapters of Meridian 157 and thoroughly enjoyed them. Games were not time sensitive so you didn’t feel pressured to solve them quickly. Tons of different locales. There was a fair amount of backtracking to collect items required to solve the puzzles, but generally you didn’t have to go too far back to get what you needed. I liked the complexity level, not too difficult that it required a lot of hints, but not simplistic either. Hints were free and helpful without giving away too much information. ✓ Well done! Not sure about endingGreat game. Similar in design to the Forever Lost series. The only negative was that the ending was a little unclear. I think the bomb went off and destroyed the artifact, but there was too much time left on the timer to cause the explosion so quickly, so perhaps the artifact had a massive power surge and destroyed everything before the bomb could? The anomaly on the map disappeared, but it wasn’t there at the beginning of the series either, so that doesn’t mean that the artifact is no longer there. I wish there was more of a conclusion where things would get wrapped up. Other than that, pretty much perfect..Version: 1.0.8

I tried the house of da Vinci games which were ok but a bit clunky and also I found the storylines lines a bit boring. But this blew me away! The research and attention to detail is impressive, the art is fantastic and with the story, I found this game hauntingly addictive and dark. It’s not too easy either so takes a good amount of time to complete. There are probably fewer things to click on than the room and I’d say that the room has more complexity and diversity in the type of tasks you complete. But meridian 157 makes up for this with its addictive story lines and beautiful artwork. You can tell the writers put their heart and soul to into its development. I love puzzle games, and love it when a story is involved as well (minus stressful timed challenges and having to fight off enemies). It’s fun to get immersed in the story to try and solve a mystery. They are so long in a good way - so much content with heaps of challenging puzzles that are so inventive and actually fun to do and work out. This is the best of these puzzle/mystery games I’ve ever played and I honestly love it with all my heart. The ending was so good..Version: 1.0.8
