✓ Good selection but app functionality is poor(Update) Recently the app has suffered from severe technical issues, it’s bar none nearly un useable at times. The servers lag constantly, the crashes have become much more frequent, and the load times can take up to 5 minutes to load a singular page. The Developer NEEDS to update their servers or enhance the stability. It’s ridiculous. This app does have some pretty decent manga some I can’t find on others which is a positive. The layout is nice and it forces dark mode. However you have to till your phone whenever loading a new chapter for some reason then re flip to make it load. It’s laggy. And crashes for no reason. You need to reset the cashe constantly in order to make it function properly. If you do not pay the one time fee of 13 dollars you will get a lot of ads in the middle or start or reading your chapter..Version: 1.0.8

✓ Good but has problemsIt’s a good app for reading what you like and has almost every mainstream manga but some more obscure ones will not have been updated for months on end and sometimes other mangas will overlap in the same chapter or get mixed up with other mangas that are completely irrelevant. ✓ Great app but has a problemI love this love app ability to have TONS of manga and skippable adds. However it does have a pretty big problem that doesn’t allow me to give it 5 stars. That problem is it not having a good (or even decent) search filter. You can only filter by 1 thing at a time. Like let’s say you want a fantasy and comedy manga. Well you would have to click on one of those two categories and click on each manga individually to see if it has the other category. That’s if it’s even a good one that you like to begin with. Thankfully you don’t get adds every time you click the screen and only get adds when you click an episode or else it will be a different story and I would just give 1 star and delete the app.Version: 1.1.0

✓ Entire chapters won’t loadI paid the $10 to permanently get rid of ads since it’s an entire video ad every single chapter you click on but after reading a bit more I started to run into loading issues more and more frequently. At first it was just a couple pages that were sometimes important and sometimes filler. Then it became a few pages, then more than half, then entire chapters and I’d be lucky to even get a cover page. Not every chapter refuses to load but it’s way too frequent and impossible to comfortably read when entire chapters in a row will not populate at all. Refreshing the chapter and app a million times only sometimes fixes some of the pages but most of all it’s irritating and interrupts the peaceful binge of reading a new series.Version: 1.0.8
✓ The ad situation is pretty badSo between every chapter a video ad played as opposed to just regular page ads I’ve seen with most manga type apps. Some ads won’t even let you close out unless you interact with them. I’ve had times where I’ve gone through a whole ad, accidentally clicked exited the chapter instead of changed the page(this isn’t easy to do, I was just absent minded) and when I went back into the chapter I had to watch ANOTHER ad even though I literally just watched one seconds before. The other issue is that going to another chapter can be finicky. Which is particularly frustrating with the video ad thing because a chapter won’t load, I’ll watch an ad to load into a black screen and changing pages doesn’t work, and it won’t work until I fully close out the app and go back, to yet ANOTHER ad that I need to watch to even see if it works. So while I like that they have working tags and you can browse by genre, personally I can see these rather long video ads hurting enjoyment. Alternatives could be just page ads mixed into chapters..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Decent selection needs a few tweaksFor the most part the selection of stuff you can find is pretty good, but the ads every chapter is definitely something to take note of especially when you have to pay $10 to remove ads. I find while reading that after about 3-4 chapters the pages go blank, just tap and switch reading methods and that fixes it but it’s kinda annoying, it would be nice if they made it so you could just scroll or swipe to the next chapter when you reach the end of one instead of having to bring up the interface and click the tiny green button for the next chapter. Overall this app is better than 80% of the other Manga apps on the AppStore..Version: 1.0.4

✓ It works, but needs fixing…First thing i noticed was the favorites tab. Even if you read the chapter updated to the manga/manhwa that you read, it still shows the red tab that indicates not reading it yet. You also cannot select the manga/manhwa by the group you want to select, and is forced to be an all or nothing situation. Second is that while reading, there are numerous times where when you press the button for the next chapter, the chapter you want to read is all black, didn’t load, or is unavailable with a x in the middle. Third is that some of the manga/manhwa/webtoon are stuck in the loading screen. No content available for those who want to read that specific title. Please fix these..Version: 1.0.4

✓ Good but w/ some bugsI do enjoy this app but there are a few bugs. Several times now while reading one story sometimes there’s a page of a completely different story then goes back to the original & some pages are left out. Sometimes some of the pages are sliced & covered over. Sometimes when you go to the next page it shows the exact same page all over again. I paid for the subscription but I’m still getting ads. ✓ Lots of issuesThere are some annoying bugs and design flaws but worse than anything else, chapter 76 of the manga I’m reading is literally the wrong manga. How do you even do that?!?! I really hate when it jumps from one source to another from chapter to chapter and names of people, places, things, and concepts change. The quality of some of the translations make them incomprehensible. I can get over the occasional a instead of an, or incorrect use of there their they’re, but sometimes the meaning of what’s being said is totally lost. I wish there was a comment system or a method of reporting problems. I’m not even sure if the people running it can go back and fix problems whether they are small or large. I got a new phone recently so I was unable to keep using Manga Bird (RIP) but this app was a pleasant substitute. It had all the old manga that I was reading. The only downside is that the app is like one of this clickbait phone games. Ads every time you change chapters. If you don’t mind that then this app is definitely for you. ✓ Lots of potentialThis is one of my favourite manga apps however there are a few things that definitely need fixing ASAP. Some chapters are not loadable, the app freezes sometimes and then kicks out so I have to restart the app all over again and the home page doesn’t show up anymore as it’s constantly in a “loading” phase but never actually loads. ✓ Extremely bare bones and underwhelmingSo let me get this straight, this app is marketed as “Manga Rock Pro” but has like 1% of the features of the old Manga Rock app. Normally I’m not too picky about appearances but the font on the app is extremely distasteful. And if we’re talking about basics, how about adding a filter to the search feature so that the search feature does more than just help you find a very specific manga? This app was so low quality, I thought it was a work-in-progress, only to see that it hasn’t been updated in 7 months. Honestly my review would be bumped up two stars if they didn’t market this as a replacement for a fantastic app, that they failed to even replicate by 10%. ✓ Had a problemI don’t know what it was if it was my phone or the app itself but I could not get in on the app. I would tap on it then exit out immediately I tried everything I could think of to fix it and then I had to just delete the app and download again. ✓ App no longer functionsThis app has been fantastic since I first got it, and until this week I would’ve happily rated it five stars. However, starting a few days ago, the app no longer functions. The home screen is stuck on the loading circle, the search function also gets stuck on the loading circle, and while my collection still shows the manga that I have saved, once I click on one, it doesn’t load and just shows the loading circle. ✓ Issue with updateI don’t know how else to contact you since the support link is busted, but ever since the update, everything is going wrong. First, it crashed every time I opened he app. I tried everything I could until I eventually had to reinstall the app, which I might add, deleted everything I had saved because there is no option to create an account to save your library. Furthermore, I guess “removed copyright content” translates to “we have removed 70-90% of our content” because I cannot find the majority of the items I had saved to my library and the majority of the generic genre filter options have literally not items under them now. The best app I found was discontinued not long ago “mangabird” This app it the closest I can find on ios. It has a favorites feature and many manga to choose from. So far I have been having trouble with the app crashing sometimes, but it could be my device. The thing I liked the most besides being able to download manga in “manga bird” which I haven’t seen from this app yet it when in vertical mode when you get to the bottom it changes pages immediately, with this app you have to do that manually. ✓ Great catalogue, UI needs improvementI’d give this app a 5 star rating if only the interfaces were better and if there was more options to edit and sort favourites and browsing options. I read an updated chapter and it doesn’t get marked as read so I have over 30 notifications for chapters I’ve read already. You can manually mark them as read but not individually so you have to make ALL the updates and then whats the point if I can’t keep track of what I read. I’d love to be able to put more than one filter on genres when looking for something new to read. I’d also love to have the option to group favourites or something.Version: 1.0.5
