✓ Amazing, but some logic and design issues.I’d recommend playing this to anyone for its unique and fun puzzle design, but there have been some weird decisions that have irked me. Decisions like having the solution to exclusively one puzzle (iirc) involve matching on the same side of the cube, like going with weird logic like matching one door frame causes a door to open versus its own door frame. The hint system is pretty good, which alleviates these issues a bit so again, still highly recommended. Make sure you go for the true ending..Version: 1.06

✓ Great GameI love The Room Series, Eyes of Ara etc. This game is similar to Gorogoa which I also really enjoyed. First time playing needed the hints sometimes, but some really clever puzzles. Graphics beautiful..Version: 1.06
✓ Beautiful and challengingThis game is phenomenal. I love these perspective-based puzzles and this definitely scratched that itch for me The art is beautiful and the sound design is incredible. Each cube having its own sound really immerses you in the experience. They always make good use of the premise. The only cons for me would be that some of the puzzles are a bit too obtuse. I would never have figured them out without hints. Fortunately they provide a generous hint system (along with a video if you get TOO stuck) The other con is that the story doesn’t feel like it sticks the landing. I was engaged the entire time, but the ending left me wondering what the ultimate point was. Those points are really minor though, overall I think this game is wonderful.Version: 1.06

✓ Not for the impatientAmazing game… beautiful and CHALLENGING. Everyone has different minds and ways they perceive the world… I can’t speak for bugs since I didn’t have any issues on my 2021 iPad Pro… but to read some of the comments condemning the game cause they couldn’t figure a puzzle out is hilarious and prompted me to review this game. There’s hundreds of threads on Reddit and websites people can easily turn to… giving a one star for lack of patience or cognitive functioning is hilarious.Version: 1.06
✓ Keep at it!The puzzles on this game are completely satisfying AFTER you’ve figured out how to make them work. A decent tutorial would make a big difference - I very nearly gave up in frustration, except “I paid for this game, I’m going to play it, dammit” So, here’s what I learned: tapping to zoom in only works on specific spots. Don’t waste time trying to zoom in a static scene, or adjusting the sensitivity to try and make that work. If you tap on it and it doesn’t zoom, that’s not the bit, move on. The answer probably IS what you think it is. Some puzzles need something from THREE adjacent faces, and/or need a match with one edge/face to do one step of the puzzle before completing it on a completely different edge/face. Sometimes, the bit won’t catch while your finger is still down, so sliding the puzzle around slightly trying to make it accept a match won’t work. Put the puzzle together and “step back”. Don’t feel stupid for pushing through all three hints AND the video, almost every time I’ve solved my problem within seconds of starting the video - every time, the answer I was trying was 99% correct, just missing a nuance..Version: 1.04

✓ Mind-bendingly clever.This gorgeous puzzle game is challenging and ingenious. The key to solving the puzzles in Moncage is to find the right perspective, either by matching objects or simply finding them. A backstory is subtly pieced together not only by the scenery but by the photos littered through the landscapes, which offers some replay value in hunting for all the pictures. The difficulty is modest to begin with but quickly ramps up, with some puzzles having very obscure solutions. Thank goodness for the hint system, because I kept getting stuck! If you want a vigorous workout for your eyes and brain, Moncage is a worthy choice. The care that’s gone into creating this game, along with the peaceful gameplay experience free of annoying ads or in-app purchases, make it well worth the price to download..Version: 1.06

✓ Great puzzleI really enjoyed this puzzle game. Actually, there are puzzles within puzzles in this game. I think the game required quite a bit of intuition, as there are no written rules to guide you. If you get stuck, sleep on it, the solution will come to you. ✓ Flawless.This game has worked nothing but perfect, and I am confounded by the bad press it seems to be getting. If this game is challenging, use the hints. If you don’t like that it’s too hard, you shouldn’t have downloaded a puzzle game. Thank you for making Moncage, it has served me well and I have now done it several times and gotten every achievement. ✓ Outside the boxNot finished yet but 10 out of 10 for how clever this puzzle is….Really get’s you searching around and scratching your head, what scene, zoom in or leave out ? Not my usual type puzzle but took a gamble as it looked good and even if I didn’t return the developer deserves the cash for the amount of work and thought that has gone into this. The in game hints are really helpful when stuck, and interesting achievement settings as well. I haven’t collect all the photos through my first run, so doing a second play through. ✓ Such a great idea but….Update: I had to take a star back. I had tried the radio puzzle 19 times and couldn’t get it to link. Finally I viewed the video-i hate to resort to a walkthrough-only to find out I was doing it exactly right. Yes, I’m on a new IPad. A lot like Vignettes but less finicky. Also each puzzle does not rely solely on the correct position to merge two items — other aspects come in to solve puzzles. So if nothing happens when you’ve managed to create a beautifully merged item, it does not mean you’ve got the wrong solution — just not the entire solution. Also try the solution at least twice. Its a matter of touching the switch (or whatever) juuuuuuussst right. My source of frustration..Version: 1.06
✓ Emotional story with good puzzlesI’m very impressed by this game, honestly. The emotion towards the end when the story comes together is beautiful. I struggled with some of the puzzle mechanics following different rules (lining up items within the same scene for instance all of a sudden), and I wish the snap was a bit stronger for lining things up as that felt finicky. ✓ Difficult but fabulous gameIt is really difficult, you might have to rely on the hints a lot, but if you played too much puzzle game like me, I would say this is THAT game you are looking for. Story is touching but it is definitely too blurry to know the detail, not a big deal to me. It is so difficult that developer literally have to use hints to push the game forward, but the logic becomes clear after two or three chapters and it starts to get interesting.
