Owlet Dream for Negative User Reviews

Glitchy, unreliable and not usable.Unfortunately after purchasing the relatively expensive camera, the app itself almost renders everything unusable. The app consistently disconnects, or is extremely laggy, or doesn’t deliver audio, or just stops working after a while. Because of these issues we had to purchase a new camera, since we couldn’t put the baby to sleep over night without the app crashing at some point. No support or software made this better..Version: 2.23.0

Why was the meter taken off? There was an update, I was like nice probably fix those bugs. Then I opened the app expecting glory and the meter was gone, and the words echoed it cannot be undone. Whyyyy? After a few days of using the new update version it feels like a downgrade. I’ve only used this sock for 3 months and I was aware of the bugs, but was not bad I was able use it and fix it when it went on its little tirade. It felt like the main purpose was there. The live feed was pretty good not perfect but it was good. With this updated version, hated that they took off the meter. It really helped us see where she was in her progress of sleeping. They took off a lot of useful visuals in understanding where she was in her sleep . I cannot understand why? The reading feel more random idk why, it used to feel more stable. It’s now constantly shooting to either direction in seconds. It does not have that feeling of reliability as it once had. Makes me nervous now. Hope they fix it or return to the original version..Version: 3.0.0

Disappointing for the priceFor a $299 price tag I really expected the app to be better. There are a lot of inconsistencies with what their FAQs/instructions claim to be able to do and what you can actually do. For instance, there is nowhere in the settings to change notification volume or parameters. It’s annoying when you know baby is perfectly fine in your arms or when changing diapers to have to constantly snooze the connection notification. I would argue it’s more dangerous to have those alarms going off trying to snooze the notification with your hands full than to not have it. There is no setting to turn them off or temporarily disable them. Also, I’m waiting for the promised update for real-time O2 sat monitoring since FDA approval. I’ll be using the Eufy we purchased until the update rolls out, which has much better customization options and real-time O2 sat/heart rate monitoring. If it doesn’t update within the next 30 days, we might be returning this one for good..Version: 2.23.0

Terrible!Constantly disconnecting from the camera. Completely useless as a reliable baby monitor.Version: 2.22.0

Great product, terrible appI really like the product, I feel like the camera is awesome especially in the dark. I try to keep the camera on live stream on my phone or iPad and the app constantly crashes and I have to reopen the app, which is not helpful unless you are constantly watching the screen. The iPhone app seems to be a little better than the iPad for this. Especially with the screen rotation option on the iPad. I have to get out of the app and then go back in to rotate the camera image. Also, would be nice to have multi cameras on one screen like a split screen for people with multiple children. I have triples and have 3 cameras but can only look at one at a time. Even just 2 camera views at once might be helpful or just an easier way to toggle between them. I feel like the product is great, the app was an afterthought, but unfortunately you have to use the app to use the product, no option to buy a separate camera monitor..Version: 2.8.1

The App might make me return itWith spending so much money on the owlet camera and sleep sock you’d think the app would actually work. It doesn’t. It crashes CONSTANTLY. the background sound cuts out after maybe 30 minutes and I wake up to a screaming baby who I feel horrible because who knows how long she was crying if I was dead asleep. Takes 2-3 minutes some times to update the camera feed and at that point it’s sometimes useless. Please please fix the app or I’ll 100% consider returning the product..Version: 2.18.0

Dream SockWe have had this for approximately 3 weeks! We got it as our baby has some cardiac issues and I wanted to have the peace of mind that we had everything documented night by night, also for the sleep trends. I loved seeing his heart rate, his sleep status and his activity at a specific time, but it all of a sudden went away. We can only see the sleep trend now, no longer his HR or activity. It’s disappointing really! Also the app will sometimes glitch and not register that the sock has been returned to the dock. Definitely need these bugs fixed before it gets a better rating!.Version: 2.11.0

Zero stars. Rarely works.I bought this thinking it would give me peace of mind but all it’s done is make me worry constantly because I never know if it is working or not. The app never loads, and if it does it is several hours behind and won’t update, even after closing the app a ridiculous amount of times as well as resetting the base several times or it just tells me to put the stock on to start a session when it’s already been on at least an hour. When it does work it takes a very long time to connect to the base and show readings, yet I haven’t had a single time that it automatically shows current readings without having to close the app a few times. I’ve had to unplug the base and reset it in the middle of the night on way too many occasions. There are always missing sections of the night where there are no readings. It goes off very loud when feeding my baby even though it is placed correctly and no way to adjust the volume. I’m so glad I bought a different baby monitor camera that actually works that I can check on my baby with as this is so unreliable and stress inducing. You’d think after paying so much for this that it would actually work. 7 months later and it just seems to be getting worse by the day. Would not recommend..Version: 2.22.0

App isn’t functionalWe used this product (sock + camera) for about two months and it only got worse and worse. The app was always buggy and we’d have to restart it almost every time we’d want to check on our baby; if would freeze up or sometimes just not have any sound. They say it doesn’t work well with more than one user, but that’s simply not practical when you have your spouse and a family member helping to watch the baby. For a solution that costs $320 I’d expect it to bare minimum have a functional app. Then about two months in, for multiple nights it would alert us in the night that the sock was misaligned -- however it would ONLY alert loudly in the nursery where we kept the base station, and wouldn’t alert our phones. This was very worrisome for us because (1) it would wake our baby, but more importantly (2) we knew we couldn’t count on it to alert our phones in the bedroom if there was a dip in his oxygen levels, which is the whole point of us using the Owlet. Save your money and don’t bother with this product..Version: 2.8.0

Not dependableApp constantly crashes and disconnects. Support didn’t help or seem to care. Purchased another monitor for our peace of mind..Version: 2.11.0

Terrible appI was so excited about the dream sock, camera, and the app when I had my fist kid. For the first few months it worked great, then they completely changed the app interface for some reason. And now more than half the time I am not able to see if my kid falling asleep or not because the stupid app won’t load the video feed. Then when the video finally does come up, the sound cuts out. I like to leave the background sound on so I can hear if she cries or wakes up, but the app always shuts off 10 minutes later and I have no idea it has even shut off until I hear my kid crying down the hall. The camera and the app linking them are fundamentally flawed and do not work well together at all. Also this stupid app drains the battery on my phone so fast, it uses up 56% of my phone battery usage, triple what the next closest battery usage app on my phone uses. Do not buy this product or use the app, it is an infuriating waste of your time and money.Version: 2.10.3

Avoid this app and brandSo unreliable, more often bugging that actually working, the camera keeps saying offline but router is in the next room. No problem with CuboAi. This is the worst camera , zero reliable, will randomly reconnect and work but not for long..Version: 2.20.0

Why did I pay this much moneyWhen are the people who develop this app actually going to fix the bugs within the app? I’ve noticed the same thing be posted over and over and over again for the last year and NOTHING has been fixed. I am CONSTANTLY having to refresh and leave the app for the camera to be live, it constantly disconnects from the base and will now show me her HR/Blood Oxygen, it will stop doing the background noise for the baby monitor after a certain period time which is real unfortunate during the night, and it constantly will switch off sending notifications. My question is WHEN is it going to get fixed if you have this many of the same complaints??? I paid $300+ thinking I would have a camera and sleep sock that would actually work for the price that I paid..Version: 2.23.0

Unreliable and unsafeThe camera constantly cuts out, and even with turning phone on and off, re-downloading the app, nothing works. It just won’t connect, despite everything being connected to wifi. This has been a consistent problem since approximately one year of use (just outside of warranty 🤨) This camera has been more of a frustration than anything and we have to have backups in the baby’s room for every time it cuts out. Then magically an hour later it might work again, with nothing having changed. It baffles me!.Version: 2.23.0

Most Frustrating Thing I’ve Dealt WithThe whole point of having a monitor is to monitor your child. The connection issues have been a problem since day one. I’ve had our internet company come several times to see if our wifi needed improvement, but it’s just the camera. I have to wake up every night to hit “try again” because it won’t stay connected. Not to mention I have to leave my phone on all night to keep the monitor on. I originally was hoping that the notifications it’s supposed to send when it sees motion or heard a cry would be enough, but those notifications don’t pop up until 3 minutes after the fact. So that’s why I’ve had to keep my phone on. Thankfully my child has always been okay, but I can’t imagine if something could happen in the middle of the night and I wouldn’t receive any kind of notification because this camera can’t even do it’s one job. Honestly I don’t know what the hype is all about over this brand. It’s been nothing but a pain. Waste of money..Version: 2.23.0

Garbage bc of app!A $300 device in this economy is far from cheap. But, offering the promise of oxygen, heart rate, and sleep tracking to first time parents makes the steep price seem worth it for a peace of mind. Prepare to be disappointed AND broke. This app is garbage!!! Not once has the “history” tab worked to show me how my little one has slept. I’ve tried everything suggested to make it work… and still nothing. After an RSV diagnosis (and 4 days in the hospital) I’m giving it 2 stars, because being able to see my son’s oxygen level allows me to get some sleep and peace. Thank goodness I opted for the “cheap” version. I can’t imagine the fury I would feel if I had a camera component to be disappointed by, too. (Ps - I’m one of those “I never write reviews” people… but after an hour of trying to get this stupid sock reconnected to our wifi - for the 3rd time this week - I figured I’d climb up on this soap box before I toss this sock in the trash.).Version: 2.10.3

Horribly slowThis would be fantastic if the app would actually load and if it would stop deleting the dream sock as a device.Version: 2.23.0

AwfulThis monitor is constantly disconnecting for no reason & the only way to reset it is to go in and unplug the monitor which is daunting when you have just put down a cranky baby. The picture has also frozen several times so I find myself constantly re-opening the app to make sure it’s in real time. I was super excited to receive this as a gift as I’ve heard the Owlet brand is of high quality, however, I am extremely disappointed in this product and feel horrible that they spent this much. It is not worth the money..Version: 2.23.0

Crashes constantlyI bought the owlet sock for my son for the feature of the plus oximeter. After spending $400 on this device and putting it on my brand new week old baby. I find out that it doesn’t actual alert you if the O2 levels drop below normal rage let alone if they where to drop to critical levels. Along with it only being a sleep tracker, the app constantly crashes it must be used on a 2.4g network or it won’t work at all. Fail to connect to the wifi even with a strong signal and a booster. When it is connected the app takes a good five minutes to load any data I spend more time waiting for it to load than actual reading the information. On a positive note it is cool to be able to see how baby slept through the night. Just don’t expect steady reliable live readings..Version: 2.16.1

Password too weakCouldn’t even create an account kept telling me my password is too weak. Why the hell would this app require a super hard to rmb pw?? I don’t give a sht if my account is hacked..Version: 3.0.0

Crashing all the timeI loved my owlet and have used the sock and camera duo since I brought my baby home. She’s now 7 months old and the app is just absolutely frustrating. It’s CONSTANTLY crashing. Readings aren’t coming across, camera takes FOREVER to load if it will load at all, and/or you have to constantly keep closing and reopening the app. When you’re counting on a product to monitor your baby it’s beyond frustrating to not be able to see or hear them! I’ve had to disconnect and reconnect both the camera and base station back onto the wood countless times which is a huge pain in the rear, especially in the middle of the night when the baby is sleeping. This duo was a baby shower gift but we might have to look into other options because there is ZERO reliability with this app. Do yourself a favor and just spend the money on a different brand. There’s others out there that provide the vital readings and seem to be working 1,000x better..Version: 2.20.1

HorribleWorked for the first month and for some reason it won’t connect anymore and I tried to contact support and my emails keep being sent back!.Version: 2.10.4

UnreliableThe app is extremely unreliable. Constant issues with freezing or connecting. Getting a closed circuit camera to replace..Version: 2.23.0

Should Be BetterI’m embarrassed for recommending this product to so many friends. for as expensive the camera and sock are, this app should be way better. When our son was born, back in July ‘22, this app was great. Had 0 complaints. Worked flawlessly. But ever since August/September, there have been countless bugs. -Have to close out of the app completely for the camera to load. Just spins and spins when trying to go back into the app without fully closing it. -A full night of sleep history is never viewable, it gets chopped up into naps/sleep/nap and cuts off before the sock is removed in the morning, by hours! Ie, bed time is 830-8am if he wakes at 1 to eat, it’s chopped off and doesn’t resume for an hour or so, if he wakes at 5, it cuts off and doesn’t finish out the night when the sock is removed in the morning. -Not sure what’s going on with the temp sensor on the camera but it is a steady 10-15° less than the actual room temp. -Have to restart the camera at least twice a week from it stating it’s ‘offline’ when trying to view. All that being said, we’ve had a great peace of mind using the sock at night and the camera (when it works) is a great convenience. Especially sound and motion alerts..Version: 2.12.1

Does not work at allVery difficult to connect to wifi. Once I finally got it to connect, it says the dream sock is not compatible with the owlet app. What? What am I supposed to do with the sock then? Complete waste of money..Version: 2.23.0

Incredibly badIt’s honestly amazing how unreliable and terrible this thing is. This thing is so bad that Owlet had to lock reviews on the camera because there were so many negative reviews and every positive review was very clearly bought. You could see that every single review had the same marketing speak and talking points. As for this app, it’s unreliable and needs to be restarted every ten minutes or so. After ten minutes the signal to the camera just drops, it’s seriously that bad. This junk has one purpose and that’s to be connected while my child sleeps and it can’t do that. This isn’t a case of the extra features not being up to snuff or it’s slow (it’s for sure slow too), this app can’t do the one basic thing it needs to do. It’s really incredible how bad it is. I’m assuming owlet’s business model was to farm out a barely functioning app on Fiverr then push marketing hard to sell to an investment firm, which is exactly what happened right before they were ordered to discontinue the sock by the FDA..Version: 2.21.1

Unreliable and inconsistentI’ve spoke with tech support many times. They’re quick to blame my internet connection / phone / anything other than me. The cams load 60% of the time. Ridiculous lag and choppy audio. Absolutely Unreliable..Version: 3.0.0

Fighting with it for 8 monthAfter 8 month of updates it’s just as bad as ever. Doesn’t connect 90% of the time and they just blame the internet, I’m on fibre internet no other device has any issues. Save your money and buy ANYTHING else..Version: 2.18.0

Needs a lot of revisions•For some reason the sleep cycles combine and become one large sleep or nap. When the baby wakes up and the sock is taken off it should stop the cycle then I unplug the sock and put it on that should start a new cycle. •It also gives really annoying notifications that can’t be snoozed for more than 2 minutes, I get it’s telling me about the baby and that’s great but you should be able to dismiss it if you take the baby downstairs and take the sock off. •In order to see the sleep quality history on the home page for some reason you have to go into the history, look at the current cycle and then go back to the Home screen. •Every now and then you have to close out of the app to see or hear the baby. I have been in my room and I had no clue the baby was screaming for us because the app sound stopped working, it happens all the time and we now just close it and reopen every now and then. •it would be nice to record on the app. •sleep cycle predictions are great for new parents..Version: 2.17.0

App crashs - unsafe, unreliableDeeply frustrating, totally unreliable sound, completely unsafe. The sound crashes so frequently that I cannot depend on it overnight or during naps. As a video monitor it’s fine because you can easily restart the app if the video has gone offline, but if you’re relying on it for sound through the night when you’re also sleeping, I do not recommend it, as it’ll stop giving you sound undoubtedly at some point during the night and you’ll wake up to a crying baby that’s been crying for who knows how long..Version: 2.20.1

Good camera but crashes, doesn’t notifyWhen it works, it works. Since the Dec 12 or 13th update, the camera doesn’t work at all. A big 0. Happened with someone I know also ; not a “me” problem. Prior to that, the app didn’t (and still doesn’t) notify us when our little one is crying, even if our phone and app settings are on. Quality of the camera is exceptional, when it works. Disappointed..Version: 2.10.4

Sock is decent, app is terribleLike most of the other recent reviews say, the sock itself serves its purpose, due to lawsuits it no longer alerts to things it should like changes in heart rate and oxygen levels, you have to watch them yourself. The app on the other hand is terrible. It rarely connects without multiple attempts, on multiple attempts we have never been succesful about connecting to a different wifi network while traveling, fortunately it works at home but that is it. Customer service is also non-existent. Hours are terrible and when you do get in contact the help is even worse. There are many cheaper options with better reviews, I have never tried any of those, but for the price, they can’t be much worse than the Owlet, it is no wonder they continue to lose marketshare. Hopefully they will make necessary changes and get things lined out, but I will not be buying any additional product until they do..Version: 2.23.0

App needs work…The product is great the camera works pretty well, but the temperature sensor always seems to read uncomfortable. The app definitely needs some help though the seemed to have fixed a few things like returned the history function and got rid of the routine thankfully because the routines was crap. Few other issues is that they need to have some kind of timer on notifications so they don’t just appear and the stay on screen indefinitely until you dismiss them, such as the “sleeping peacefully” notification. When I have the app on when I’m showering and she’s sleeping sometimes it goes on and the doesn’t go away until I have to manually dismiss it. App developers if you’re listening, make that one dismiss itself after some time passes so that it goes back to the live video feed. I get it for warnings but not that one. Also, the warning about connection issues always goes on at the worst moments like right at the moment she’s dozing off which is annoying because it just keeps playing the music and the it sometimes wakes her or it’s just really annoying and far away from where I am to silence it. But overall ok once they brought back history and tossed the routines..Version: 2.5.1

Very poor connectionThe socks themselves work well but this app cannot seem to connect to the wifi to save its life. After doing a lot of googling, I came across a site that reminded users that the wifi setting needs to be the 2.4 gHz wifi as the camera is not designed to connect to 5G. To try to alleviate this problem I turned off my router’s 5G setting completely. It still only connects half the time. Sometimes doing a hard reset of my phone fixes the issue. Sometimes reconnecting the camera to the app fixes the issue (temporarily). How much effort do I need to put in to make this product work? I try to do my due diligence and fix any “user errors” going on when using a product. But considering how much effort I’ve had to put in for this product that costs much more than a lot of other wifi camera options, I definitely recommend going with another option..Version: 2.18.0

App FixesI love the dream sock, the stats I’m able to see, and the peace of mind. HOWEVER for the price of the sock, I expected a lot more from the app. For example, none of the sleep sessions are separated, even though the sock is taken off between sessions. The section below the health stats titled sleep quality is counting my daughters last nap of the day from 2 days ago, her sleep that night, all of the naps the next day and now her second night of sleep as one session. The app has done this before, but it typically resets at some point. I really hate that when this happens I’m unable to see how long she was in each stage of sleep for as that stat is helpful for us. Instead, her session is accounting for 30+ hours. Again, I love everything about the sock and the features of the app, they are just not executed well and need technical tweaks. Yes I did update the app. My session is still over 30 hours long. There is no way to manually edit it, as this is under sleep quality on the home page and not the history section..Version: 2.16.0

Sock is good app is trash.Love to use the sock, as I like knowing that my daughter is okay. However, every time you open the app it takes minutes to load, and then not everything will be displayed; the bar graph does not always show up. Furthermore, and the most aggravating thing, is that when you are trying to put the sock on or take it off, you have like 10 seconds before the base starts going off, and the app blocks any buttons with a dumb pop up that you can’t get rid off. So imagine trying to put your baby down for the night, and you’re not quick enough, so the base starts making noise, your phone makes noise, and if you have any pets they start making noise…Now your little one is awake, because the makers of this app can’t figure out an option that lets parents put the sock on or off without letting the entire neighborhood know it takes them more than 10 seconds..Version: 2.22.0

Love/Hate relationshipI love the concept of this application; being able to use it from virtually anywhere was a win for me. But we’ve experienced so many problems. For. Long time the new dream app kept constantly crashing throughout the night which made it basically useless. That seems to have gotten better but now the camera quite often goes offline for reasons I do not understand. I’ll click the button to try again and sometimes it reconnects and sometimes it doesn’t. If it reconnects, it might be good for the rest of the sleep session but there are times when it just goes offline or freezes. So many of these problems started for us when it switched from the original app to the dream app… We have spent so much money on this monitor and in so fed up with it. Honestly debating switching to a more traditional monitor so we don’t experience this issue anymore..Version: 2.11.0

Disappointing updateWe used the old sock for my oldest daughter and it was amazing. It alerted us that her oxygen was low and she was taken to the hospital. We have the new sock for our younger daughter now and have been using it with no issues for months. Tonight I went on the app only to find that the base station isn’t connected to the wifi, the wifi light is on on the base, and so on the website it says to delete the app and redownload. I do this only to find that it’s a new app, and it doesn’t even monitor oxygen and heart rate anymore, and it’s asking me to convert to the dream sock to no longer receive real time alerts of low oxygen or high or low heart rate. I won’t be making the conversion because the alerts are the whole reason we have this sock, but now I won’t be able to see any readings or even how her sleep was. Awful update, and no more peace of mind. I would not recommend this to anyone..Version: 2.20.0

History/reads never availableFirst off, customer service was terrible. I needed a new cord because for some reason the one provided stopped working. Having the function of messaging with them was nice but three separate times I sent pictures of the cord and the adapter part only to be shipped the wrong cord 3x! How does that happen.. finally fourth time the woman said they were all out and couldn’t put me on a waitlist. So I had to buy a $15 cord which wouldn’t be a problem but what’s the point of paying for a warranty then..When I first started using the sock everything was great back in beginning of July. I updated the app and now it’s gone down the tubes. Constantly saying connection issues and will go off all the time unless I manually turn the base on then off. I never can see any data while she has it on anymore nor do I see the quality of sleep. Worst part is you try looking at past days and you can’t even see the sleep quality anymore. What’s the point of the $400 sock? This app need major work fast because it’s not right as a first time parent to just want a little peace of mind and this type of stuff happens..Version: 2.5.1

Constant issues with connectivityI’ve used the sock with both of my kids. The app is always “searching for base” or “Wi-Fi not connected” even though the base is 6 feet way or the Wi-Fi booster is literally on the other side if the wall(had to get a booster because my 650sqft ranch style house was too much area to cover for range). Sock constantly falls off with just the slightest wiggle unless you make the Velcro so tight you fear that it’s hurting them. And you still need to put an actual sock on to hold it in place. Maybe have a better design so it stays on better. The notifications for sock placement issue almost always only rings at the base but not the app so it’s only waking the baby not the parent. When it does work it provides tremendous peace of mind, but unfortunately that’s rarely the case. For the insane amount of money spent on this device I shouldn’t have to still worry about my child’s vitals crashing and not being made aware. That’s literally all this sock is supposed to do. Save your money, just set an alarm and check in on them like parents have done forever..Version: 2.18.0

Never works when you wantWorked fine for about 1 week. Half the time the app doesn’t work, and since there is no where else to view the camera feed (hardwired viewing option), you’re stuck needing a substitute that works. In other words, but another brand that functions. Updates are out so often, yet they can’t fix the problem. Do not buy this product..Version: 2.10.4

SAVE YOUR MONEYGo buy any other monitor for 25% of the cost of this. Use the savings to reward yourself for not using this device. Doesn’t even load 70% of the time, Sound goes in and out, this camera has such good reviews online ? Hmm how, I guess someone dropped a bunch of money on advertisements and paid for reviews…… if my camera doesn’t load 70% of the time for me to see my son. Then what good is this… literally had to buy another monitor as our main… the bright side is I can check in once in a while. When I’m at work and my wife puts our son down to nap. That is only when the app does work… ooh look that’s the only reason this app gets 1 star. Fix your product. It’s too expensive for what it does. It causes headaches when this designed to help ease the mind of parents. I can go on and on, I could think of many different options that would prove more useful than this pos So until you improve your service. I suggest no one uses this device… if you’re not going to fix your stuff send everyone their money back..Version: 2.12.2

App always crashingVery unreliable app for monitoring baby, as it is crashing constantly without warming or reason!.Version: 2.22.0

RSVWanted to start off by saying I know the Owlet is not a “medical device” or recommended for “diagnosis” BUT my daughter had RSV at about 7/8 months old and seemed to be doing just fine, until she wasn’t. It happened so quickly and this sock was one of the main reasons I brought my LO to the ER and was admitted twice! It gives parents a little piece of mind, and a base to go off of. You kind of learn what your child’s numbers typically are, and when they’re off.. you check on them, and if they’re fine check the fit of the sock bc if it isn’t on correctly or tight enough it will be off a little from your typical readings. The app does have a lot of crashes and bugs, and the biggest thing I think the app needs is customizable notification settings, if levels get to a certain limit of my choosing I want it to notify me so I can check on my child. I’d so much rather get a low false reading and get notified than to not get any notification at all. I do always recommend this to my friends and family but I hope they continue to make improvements in the app and customization settings..Version: 2.16.0

Hope you don’t like seeing the cameraConstantly saying it’s offline with good wifi strength. Never can get it to work. Daughter is sick and can’t see her. Will be going to buy different brand..Version: 2.11.0

Tons of room for improvementThe sock itself is great. The idea is great. However, the app is severely lacking. It is very glitchy. It crashes frequently. I am constantly having to restart the app. Sleep sessions will randomly disappear or a chunk of sleep data will go missing just for it to all reappear a few hours later. The sleep quality reports are okay but the data goes away every time you take the sock off in between sleep sessions & it doesn’t save to the nap or sleep session on the history tab so you lose helpful information such as how much deep sleep your baby got during each session that day. Then the sleep start/end times always manage to be off on the history tab & don’t match what the home tab says & oftentimes, it takes a very long time for the “current session” to show up on the history tab. It’s just hard to believe that the app that pairs with a $300 device is this faulty. I really wish it was a better & smoother experience to use the app..Version: 2.17.0

Awful so farIf I could give this ZERO stars I would!!! DO NOT BUY UNTIL THEY HAVE FIXED THE GLITCHES!!!! I have been using the owlet sock and monitor for 2 days (since we have been discharged from the hospital), and it is ALREADY GLITCHING!!!! The base is connected to the Wifi, yet my app keeps searching for the base station and it won’t load!!! I have deleted and reinstalled the app many times. I have restarted my phone. Nothing works. For $500 plus dollars for the sock and monitor combo, I would expect these devices to work. We bought them for peace of mind and now I just feel stressed out….Version: 2.23.0

Should be betterThe camera works fine but the app and connectivity is a mess. Not reliable at all! We ended up having to buy an old school audio only monitor cause you can’t rely on the app to stay connected through the night. Lately the audio fully cuts out randomly and you have to turn your volume up and down to trigger it to come back on. For something responsible for watching our children I am greatly disappointed in the performance to cost ratio. Owlet is expensive so you think you’re buying the best product for your baby, and instead you end up with a good product (camera) and a downright unreliable and pretty crappy way to use the product (the app)! I wouldn’t recommend to any new parents. Save your money and get a cheaper camera and buy a cheap and reliable old school audio only monitor. That combo will work far better than dealing with this crappy app!.Version: 2.12.1

Just AwfulAnybody that has given this app 5 stars has been paid to do so. The camera is 15 feet from my WIFI booster and maybe works 20% of the time. During that 20% the sound and camera constantly drops. Buy a cheap nanny cam as this has been a giant waste of money..Version: 2.10.3

Do not buyOur sock sensor disconnects and alarms in the middle of the night when my baby is sound asleep. It would lose connection all the time and night. The Customer care team is horrible at helping you and will delay responding to you. They sent me links to fix it the device myself. It took them weeks to finally send me a new sensor and when that didn’t work they made me go through all the same links again to try fixing it. I’m currently being told I’m getting a new base station but that was two weeks ago and they haven’t sent it to me. It’s a very unprofessional company with poor training of their staff. This device added so much stress and anxiety when our baby was born. Please, Read all the poor reviews and if you’re still going to buy it, wait until your baby is born to purchase. You only have about 30 days to get a refund. It’s a complete Waste of money and created so much added stress with having a newborn. I wouldn’t recommend this device to anyone..Version: 2.13.0

Step BackWe’ve been a faithful Owlet household since our little one’s birth. The ability to track her O2 & pulse has always given us peace of mind, dating back to before the FDA backing. Now that Owlet is backed though, and there’s certain parameters they have to follow (up to 18 months/up to 30 lbs), you lose the ability to see this vital information. I get they don’t want to lose their backing, but this information was readily available prior to this most recent 3.0 version update meaning it’s disappearance is tied directly to compliance with the FDA. The whole reason we selected this particular monitoring system was for the additional information it provided. Was considering buying the larger toddler sock to get extended use out of this system, but after this most recent update that won’t be happening. It’s a shame that those over said parameters are now shut out..Version: 3.0.0

Latest update’s bugSince the latest update, speaker on vs background is no difference. When on speaker on, there are occasions that sounds starts to playing even the app is minimized..Version: 2.13.0

Poor qualityApp crashes. Volume goes in and out. Very disappointing.Version: 2.10.4

App failed badly to dream sock capabilitiesThis app isn’t at the same level from the dream sock device. The sensor does a great job of collecting very useful data but the app is not good at all in deliver value out of the data. Loading info every time you switch screens.- It’s very awkward how the live sleep chart takes 30seconds + to load each time you switch apps . Lack of emergency notifications and confusion with the Smart Sock 3 vs. the dream sock and the Owlet Care vs. Owlet Dream app.- The main driver for me to buy this device was for the heart and O2 alerting features. Owlet doesn’t do a good job in adding a disclaimer in the dream sock to ensure their new customers don’t confuse it with the discontinued Smart Sock 3 due to the issues with the FDA. I feel is a bit misleading as most of the marketing that took me to the dream sock was old and still referring to the emergency alerting features… If you’re trying to get emergency notifications when your baby’s heart rate or Oxygen levels drop. The dream sock and the Owlet dream app aren’t for you. Lack of meaningful historic sleep reporting and insights.- The historic view is garbage, it’s like reading a list of unorganized sleep sessions without a good reporting interface. I will encourage the app team to use sleep tracking apps themselves such as the Fitbit app. Fitbit does an amazing job in showing sleeping trends, summaries, scores and charts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. With the Owlet dream app is even difficult to read a single sleep session. Inconsistent sleep predictions.- one of the main features this app advertises is the sleep prediction. In iOS has been very inconsistent and ai have only seen it once. I haven’t been able to see the prediction again and I’m not even sure how to make it appear. Only one time was visible to me in the 3 weeks I’ve been using it. After all this, I can’t understand how a public company with products with such a price tag can’t have a descent app.Version: 2.17.0

Barely ever connects to wifiWe have a wifi station right outside the room and the camera can’t connect 80% of the time. Bought a different wifi camera and has no problems. Such a waste of money..Version: 2.15.0

Too expensive for the qualityI was choosing Owlet over Nanit, but I’m starting to regret it. This app is plain terrible. I have a pretty solid AP network in my house, the base and the camera both are with 20 ft of the AP with latest and greatest wifi technology and I cannot seem to get better than “fair” wifi connection. The app crashes and sometimes it takes multiple restarts to get the video streaming going. The iPad app is a scaled up iPhone app. At this pricepoint this is a huge miss. :( UPDATE: I have a dedicated access point 1ft away from the base station and 6 ft away from the camera, dedicated WLAN set up just for this system, with proper channel definitions and still cannot get better than “fair” network connection, while having a -64dBm signal on a 2.4GHz WiFi4 network connection. Maybe it’s time to choose a more reliable partner than the Shenzen Bilian Electronic Co. Sometimes the app is just churning and churning and not showing anything. App still crashes after some time. Buyers, just get the Eufy Baby kit (I wish it came out earlier) if you want a sock and camera, it’s light years better for less money. I truly regret this purchase, I will throw this kit out as selling it would make me feel like scamming others that want their baby safe. This product needs to come off the shelves and not put back on before the issues have been fixed. You are beta testing with BABIES for God’s sake….Version: 2.7.0

Horrible appI’m disappointed with a lack of functionality, app always disconnects from the base. (Not even talking about sock constantly disconnecting from the base being 2 meters away). When I purchased the sock I was hoping to see sleep analysis, however, you only get a sleep tracker, which is not 100% reliable. And the most annoying part is that you can’t disable notification sound on the base, taking into account the fact that the sock constantly disconnects be ready to hear annoying beeping 24/7. Definitely doesn’t worth this much money..Version: 2.20.1

Continuous issuesI have reached out to Owlet as we have constant issues with the camera feed freezing (I can hear by baby screaming but the camera shows her asleep). Very disappointed with this app and the product. I will see if they have a way to resolve the issue but I think we will likely switch to nanit instead (our friends brought theirs over and it works perfectly). If you are going to spend a few hundred in a monitor, this is not the one to buy..Version: 2.23.0

Inconsistent video feedI have two cameras in my child’s room. Less than 15 feet from one another. On a daily basis I experience being able to access video feed for anywhere from 0 to 2 cameras. More often than not, it’s 1 or 0. Currently looking at the ap now and I’m only getting 1 cameras feed, other with ‘offline error’. But if I check in 6 hours, likely the error camera will be working again. (For reference- our Wi-Fi also has nest cameras, blink cameras, and even a set of off brand cameras - I run into no issues accessing feed for ANY of them via their apps.) When the owlet app does connect to the owlet cameraa, it always says ‘fair’ Cam Wi-Fi. But my husband works on IT and looks up from our router that it’s connected with 99% signal strength. This app is inconsistent, unreliable, and frustrating for any user. After first day using this cam/app with my newborn infant, I got an old school audio only baby monitor, because I could not trust this app..Version: 2.18.0

Stopped working in 7 weeksGot this from my brother for my baby shower and the app crashed right before Christmas. She was born beginning of November and it was great at the beginning then it would have problems connecting to wifi and now the whole app is crashed. When you go online to see what you need to do it just tells you to update it and redownload the app and unplug the machine and reset it … I have done all the above and still not working and now I drink out they made a whole new app which isn’t available in my country/region … so messed up .. so furious. Atleast I didn’t buy it but it’s sad to know that my brother has bought 1 for each of his 3 kids and bought 1 for me and now it’s not even working….Version: 2.23.0

Scam$300 down the drain. This sock is designed to EASE our anxiety when our precious babies are sleeping. The app/sock NEVER works properly. I have the correct sock size on, the sock is on baby’s foot properly, and the app is updated. The app will have GAPs of time with no readings even though I was not notified there was no reading. Notifications are turned on. Most recently my daughter had an incident and I really needed to watch her oxygen, the app would not open, I checked the App Store and it said I did not have the app, so I deleted the app and it would not re download. Had to have my husband download it on his phone. And it still didn’t work properly on his phone! It took 45 minutes of “tracking” to finally get my baby’s oxygen level. I was finally able to get the app downloaded back on my phone after restarting my phone and we decided to compare the stats on mine and my husbands phone(he has Samsung) and the stats show different levels. I will be staying up all night watching my baby because i just can’t trust this app/sock..Version: 2.8.1

App needs workThe owlet sock is why we purchased the owlet cam. The app needs refreshed to update the current status of what you’re seeing on the camera, which often means closing out the app and reopening every time. Lately it has started to go offline in the middle of the night 4-5 times. At first I thought it was the Wifi but it’s not. Our wifi has gone out before and the camera has disconnected because of it. It will go offline and the camera will actually go off into pairing mode and I will have to re pair it, normal. But when it goes off in the middle of the night consistently it says offline and I’ll hit “try again” or whatever message that pops up to go back to camera screen and it loads right up. The camera does not need repairing all I have to do is open my phone and app again. This is concerning since I want to be monitoring my baby all night and now I can’t even hear if he is crying or not because my app shuts off when I’m sleeping. Lots of money to pay for something that doesn’t work.Version: 2.23.0

Not DependableConstantly drops video and is very laggy. Using this as a monitor at night is very worrisome as you never know if it’s going to disconnect leaving your baby helpless to call out for you..Version: 2.10.4

Unbelievably terrible appI can’t even believe how terrible this app is for such an “advanced” concept of baby monitoring and for how expensive this system is. I regret registering for it and should’ve gone with a less expensive basic system. The sock is so difficult to put on and stay on (why not just make an actual sock that slips and fastens on?). The camera is always going out and SO delayed. The app doesn’t have options for anything really (would be nice to customize it more, change the annoying song of the base when it goes off or the volume of it, etc). I saw so many reviews like this but stupidly ignored them and now I wish I had paid attention. Don’t buy this system. I see so many reviews and even see they’ve responded but nothing has changed and it’s been a while? THEIRRESPONSES ARE SO GENERIC AND NOTHING CHANGES!!! Please sit down with real parents who have used this app and could give valuable feedback, whenever and if ever you decide to listen and update it. I will now need to spend money on another camera because this one is GARBAGE. Not sure how the stars are still high on this it should be in the negatives. Such TRASH..Version: 2.9.5

NOT AN OXYGEN MONITORING DEVICE****Let me just put this in asterisks to prevent someone from spending 500$ like we did on a device that was updated not to give us the data we wanted. The owlet dream sock used to provide live HR and O2 monitoring with dream information, now it only reports sleep quality. Why does it have anything to do with O2 & HR then? To determine sleep quality... it will NOT alert you if your baby's O2 or HR go out of bounds. It will give you an average O2(over 10 minutes) but even if the average is low it will not send an alert for O2. Theoretically it may send an alert for compromised sleep. My daughter has been wearing this since she was 6 days old, because it used to give us O2 readings... it has never alerted poor sleep quality until she was 9 months old. Which seems inaccurate. Overall I'm not satisfied. It's cool to see her sleep lengths but not what I purchased this for in early 2022..Version: 2.15.0

It has its flaws, but overall I’m satisfied. My child will be one next week. We’ve had the sock/camera combo since birth. It always put my mind at ease even after we moved her into her own room at 4 months. We never had issues with the base going off unless our crappy internet provider at the time (charter spectrum) did their 3AM maintenance. I have problems however with the new update. We have recently switched internet providers to a fiber network, which has excellent connections and speed, but for some reason I cannot get the background sound to work for longer than 30 seconds at a time. If I close the app and reopen it it will work for the 20-30 seconds and then back off again. If tried reconnecting and restarting. I’m kinda at a loss. I use the background sound as a monitor in our room and without it I suppose I’ll have to switch to the basic two way system..Version: 2.11.0

Please update app & fix base station issueOur baby is 12 weeks old and we’ve been using the Owlet sock and camera since she came home and loved the set up. We had been using the Owlet Care app up until last week when the base station kept saying it was trying to connect to the sock. We would lose her readings multiple times during the night even when we repaired the sock and the station and checked the connection. We thought the app was out of date so we downloaded the Owlet Dream and the issues continue…the app constantly crashes which means we have no readings, camera or sound when that happens in the night. We are still getting error messages saying the base station is trying to connect or is offline (though the camera still works). The Owlet Dream app doesn’t show readings when you take it to full screen and you can’t go back to see the previous nights’ history of awake/light sleep/deep sleep. Owlet’s support team told us THE APP WASN’T MEANT TO BE KEPT ON ALL NIGHT, which is why it is crashing (!!!) For $400 I should be able to keep this app and product running as long as I want to give me peace of mind my child is okay. I might as well just buy a normal baby monitor….Version: 2.5.1

It should be criminal! We purchased the Owlet Sock 2 back in late 2020. Used it successfully on our first child. I uninstalled the initial app and opened a new iTunes account. I no longer have access to the original version of the app and it would not be compatible with recent iOS updates. I downloaded this version of the app - the only available version. I get an error message when attempting to sync the base station to the app. I contact customer support. They indicated that software (iOS) compatibility with Sock 2 has been discontinued with no ability to roll back to the original working version of the app on iOS. The only functionality the owlet now has is a red light green light base station indicator via Bluetooth without any phone support. The functionality of the device has been greatly reduced. The company refuses any form of refund. Factoring in that this cost $400+taxes, it’s so unethical it should be criminal..Version: 2.23.0

ConfusedSo I had the Owlet app for 2 years now it’s been acting funny won’t connect to the camera. So I deleted the app to reinstall hoping that would help and now I find this is the only app available for Owlet… so did a who new app or update happen and it never happened on my phone…?.Version: 2.21.2

Horrible app.Have had the sock and monitor for 2.5 years. We stopped using the sock almost 4 months in because it would blare alerts throughout the night that her sock has fallen off or whatever. Go look, and snuggly secure, where we put it… The monitor is beyond trash. It seems to work better on my wife’s Samsung than my iPhone. Sometimes my phone will stay on, sometimes it just goes into sleep mode like normal. It’ll be working fine, then a wheel will start spinning, then it’ll freeze. Then I have to close the app and reopen it. Almost always pixelated and more often than not it say connection lost. Probably more but can’t think of them.. now this is all happening ONLY when I can actually get the thing to load. I have to close, open, close, open, close, open etc etc.. until it finally gets past a black screen with a spinning wheel and finally loads a picture. Like another review, since it moved from Owlet Care to this new Owlet.. whatever.. the monitor has been garbage and the sock was garbage before that. I’d never recommend any of their products. Especially at their prices...Version: 2.23.0

HORRIBLE APP - DO NOT RECOMMENDThis monitor was the biggest waste of money. I’m contacting the company today and expect a full refund. The app rarely works - glitchy, slow/ delayed and the camera needs to be unplugged and reset multiple times a day. In terms of our internet - we have high speed fibre and none of our other devices has any issues. Such a waste of time installing it, measuring and mounting it. Not to mention reinstalling the app multiple times. I can’t believe this product is meant to assist in child safety .. it’s completely inadequate and I could never use this device with confidence while having my baby sleep in a separate room. Very disappointed!!.Version: 2.21.2

Constantly disconnectingThe camera constantly disconnects from wifi often without notice so you think the baby is just sleeping but actually the picture is frozen..Version: 2.22.0

This app is a jokeThe password requirements are ridiculously convoluted, the wi-fi setup simply doesn’t work on iphones and the support FAQ is useless. 0/5..Version: 2.23.0

App needs improvementI only use the Owlet Dream Sock and although I am pleased with the sock itself and it’s designed purpose of helping keep my mind at ease while my baby sleeps, I am not impressed with the app itself. It takes several “refreshes” and even closing and re-opening the app in order to see the current sleep state. I wish the app would provide some sort of chart that shows awake, light and deep sleep patterns. My Apple Watch tells me more about my sleep patterns than the Owlet does for my baby. Lastly there should be some sort of turn off or check-in button when it’s having “difficulty getting readings”. There will be times where I’m holding my baby, I know he’s fine and even though I dismiss the notification the base will still continue to sound and it’s frustrating. Also I had to move the base to his actual changing table because otherwise when I take it off the base as I’m getting him ready for bed the sock will start alarming if I don’t put it on asap. I’ll snooze the base and it will literally go off in what feels like another minute. There could maybe be some sort of, ready to start tracking sleep button. Overall, the sock does it’s job of keeping track of my baby’s heart rate, oxygen level and sleep status but doesn’t do much more than that. You’d think for $300 the app would be better..Version: 2.22.0

Product gives peace of mind but app does not workI can confidently say this is the worst app I’ve ever used. 95% of the time it doesn’t work nimbuo writing this at 3:45 am after fighting with it for an hour because it said the base station was disconnected - the whole while it was just the app malfunctioning. That’s been the worst if it but on a typical day and use I have to quit out of the app and refresh it to get a real time reading. When that doesn’t work I switch back and forth between home and history tabs. Basically I am constantly trying different things to get the app to show me any data. This is meant to give me peace of mind but it can’t do that if it never works. I’m holding on to the fact that I think the sock still works when the app doesn’t. The sock/base station hasn’t failed to notify me when there has been a placement issue (the sock moves and isn’t reading properly) and i have been able to see data retroactively during a session so that’s comforting. But somehow when I check the history after a session ends, there is frequent loss of data/the report says there is no data for large chunks of time..Version: 2.9.3

Won’t connect againNow the app won’t even open its 5am and I have to risk waking baby up just to check on her because this expensive piece of plastic doesn’t do the job it’s supposed to do. All the negative reviews and never any solutions. How does this app even have 4 stars?! Bad customer service, all the emails I’ve sent and never been answered. The company should be ashamed of themselves. They probably don’t even use their own products. Update: Owlet does not know how to fix their own products. I have an email thread going from December 2021. Device works Ok week or two at a time then stops working at the most inconvenient times. Customer service is a scam. They just want you to download different apps to test your internet speed. Then they tell you to put your router in the room with the baby. How come it works fine any other time? My app has been giving me issues all morning loading slow but since I’ve emailed them about the issue the app won’t open at all. Thanks owlet!.Version: 2.10.1

App closes throughout the nightI used the owlet baby monitor and sock with my first child three years ago. I bought the new updated version for our second child and the experience has been horrible. The app will shut down if a asleep or awake notification from the sock comes through and is not dismissed. Sometimes we will be asleep and get these notifications and the Apple shut down and so we are no longer monitoring our child unknowingly. I feel that this is extremely dangerous since the whole reason why you have a monitor is to alert you for your babies needs. I have tried to troubleshoot this for several months with my baby being five months old now. I have talked to countless technical support members, and none of them have given me an answer, except for “sorry. Really disappointed, and I will let, but our first experience was stellar. That’s a little rough or you think that’s. A review of the app on an apple I feel like I have nowhere else to like air my grievances on star. I have been able to find a workaround by assigning the sock to another child…for some reason if the camera and sock are not associated those prompts will not close the app. Now I just have to toggle between the two “children”, one to view the camera and the other to view the sock stats..Version: 2.8.0

Embarrassingly bad techI used to have the owlet sock and camera 4 years ago for our first and it was much better than the sock 3 and dream app which are an absolute disgrace for the price. The bugs are so numerous and the deficiencies are so many that it should actually be illegal for them to charge what they charge for a product that works so inconsistently - especially as it pertains to the well being of a CHILD. It is quite clear that they are not taking any pride in this work..Version: 2.11.0

CrashesI want to love this monitor but the app has now literally made it unusable. I bought it for the ability to listen in the background on my phone- but the app is constantly crashing, and when it DOES run, it disconnects and stops streaming anyway. The app makes this monitor worth $20 imo. Really unimpressed.Version: 2.16.0

No real time supportWas excited that the dream sock finally had the ability to show real time insights for oxygen levels. (Previously a feature before being converted from a smart sock.) Their customer support has told me that the provided description is the same across app stores regardless of country, however this feature is only available in the US, not Canada. Disappointing I’ve upgraded to the latest version and have no access to this feature in the app..Version: 3.0.0

Camera Connection IssuesI’ve really enjoyed the sock feature on the owlet and I know it gets some hate from a lot of different places but it worked really well for us. The only issue I have is the camera disconnects or has connection problems all the time. There is so many times I can’t even check on my baby through the app because it won’t connection to the camera. I’m sure most would say it’s a Wi-Fi problem but our Wi-Fi will be working on everything else just not on the app. When it doesn’t want to connect it will usually be out for 3-4 hours before I can even try to use it again. There is also times when it’s on throughout the night and it just randomly disconnects. It’s super frustrating that I can’t rely on it to work all the time. I feel like there is so many other camera options out there that work a lot better. We do have another one for our other child that was a fraction of the price and I have never had one issue with it not working. I don’t think I will use this again for our next baby unless it gets some serious updates..Version: 2.10.4

The app doesn’t work reliablyWith the last update the app keeps disconnecting from the camera. This happened many times before. Please make this reliable..Version: 2.15.0

Do Not PurchaseDo Not Update to the newest version. If you still have a Sock 2 or 3 do not upgrade to a Dream Sock. The sock is only good until the kid reaches 2.5 at which point you will no longer get the notifications but also won’t get any pulse rate or oxygen readings at all. When I bought the product it was advertised as being good from age 0 - 5. Not the case obviously anymore. If the FDA no longer approved it, this product should have been recalled and credit given back. Then re advertised once approved explaining this isn’t good anymore after age 2.5. Only being good till 2.5 maybe doesn’t justify the price anymore. It’s nice to be able to see these stats in older children even if not for the alerts but it helps to tell when your child is sick. Apart from that terrible update. The Cam 1 is terrible and about impossible to ever rely on it for a live feed or background sound. Then Cam two is a bit better but your better off putting your money into a different camera. Nanit is probably the way to go..Version: 3.0.0

App is infuriating90% of the time, especially at night, the app does not work. I get an “Owlet Camera Offline” notification more than anything and have to click Try Again over and over again, and opening/closing the app to try and reset. If the camera does work, it freezes and I am constantly having to ask my husband “is that what your screen is showing?” Because most times, it will have our baby showing two different things. These issues only started happening after about 5 months of use. The 10% that it does work, it’s fantastic. But not enough to outweigh the frustrations when it’s not working and I want to check on him. Most of the time, I just wish we had gotten a hardwired, non-WiFi/cloud monitor. We don’t even use the sock. I refuse to believe it’s our WiFi signal because we live in a 2000sqft single story and our router is nearby..Version: 2.23.0

Do Not Get This CameraThis is the first time I’ve ever written a review but I had to warn other parents about how bad this app is. If you plan to use the camera and app as your baby monitor don’t do it! As a first time parent with a now 3 month, getting the camera was a horrible choice. The app frequently stops working, whether you are connected to the internet or cell service. I’ve deleted and redownload the app. My husband also has the same issue on his phone. Many times I’ve woken to my child screaming in another room with no sound from this app, even if I have the background mode turned on. It causes a ton of anxiety every night not knowing if you will hear your child’s cries when the app randomly stops working. Additionally, when you do open or restart the app the camera takes at minimum 20 seconds to load. This can be very stressful when you want to do a quick check in the middle of the night or if you hear a random noise..Version: 2.8.3

So. Many. Bugs. DO NOT BUY.Great idea for a product; absolutely terrible execution. The video aspect of the monitor is fine, and sure it’s convenient to have the monitor on your phone, but the app CONSTANTLY cuts out so that half the time you don’t even have a monitor. And there’s no notice to the user when the app has cut out unless you’re actually in the app at the time, so you may think you’ve got a quiet baby when baby is actually screaming for help. To make matters worse, when you leave the app to go into another app, the monitor supposedly stays on in the background - although often enough it doesn’t - but then when you come back into the app the video freezes and needs to be restarted. So if you need to quickly flip back to the monitor because you hear a cry, you have to either wait several minutes for the video to unfreeze or close the app and restart it. Of course, a lot of the time when you restart the app it still doesn’t come back up until you’ve tried several times. This was a baby shower gift and all I can think is how terrible I feel that my friend wasted hundreds of dollars on this monitor when we could have gotten something more reliable that didn’t constantly cut out, probably for far less money..Version: 2.15.0

Not worth itI bought the owlet sock based on a cousins recommendation. However, she had the old version where there were far less glitches. I love the sock when it works. It gives me peace of mind at night when my son is sleeping and I like being able to check his live readings and track his sleep. But this isn’t always the case. The app crashes constantly and says it’s not connected to the wifi meanwhile the wifi light on the base is on! It takes me a bit of time to get it to work again and it’s starting to become a nightly thing. When I reached out to express my concerns, I was told to delete the app and download it again, which yes that did work, but then I had to do it the next night and the night after. I’ve seen so many reviews also complaining about the app, please listen to your customers and fix it. For customers debating on this product: No, I don’t recommend. Small updates would make big difference for my family-3 year no changes with my issues!!!Have to open and close the app anytime I want to click through the app. Once you click the screen split button you can no longer click through the app unless you minimize it and the reopen to maximize the other child’s screen (To see both kids cams at the sometime at night) do this every night before bed. Very annoying!!!! if you have to explain this to a babysitter, nobody knows what you’re talking about😩😩😩 Anytime my power goes out I have to re sync the Wi-Fi to the camera and I wake my child every time I have to do it and it’s like a 20 minute process to “hear the chime!” Only have to reconnect my Wi-Fi on my original old cam not the new one. Support has told me multiple times it should not be an issue but it is. I live near the water, so we lose power quite frequently when there is a storm. ruins, my three year old sleep and ultimately affects her day the next day at school, which intern ruins, a workday for me if she gets sent home for being upset at school for a poor night’s sleep …quite the trickle down effect!!!! Have two kids would like the ability to see them side by side. Not small corner screen verse big screen. Seems like very basic changes in software that would be the difference of me recommending to a friend and I have had for 3 year and no changes ever made!!!!! So annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!.Version: 2.22.0

Sad it’s gone downhillCamera quality seems to have gone downhill? Which is strange because I haven’t changed cameras is it an app issue? Also I doesn’t show averages of oxygen on sleep reports either. And it takes forever to reload and see what’s going on. Super laggy!.Version: 2.10.4

App Needs Significant ImprovementTheir hardware is perfect. The sock is perfect for measuring heart rate and pulse ox, and letting you know your baby is asleep. The camera is great for viewing in light and pitch black conditions, lets you hear what’s going on, and also lets you communicate back to the crib. However, the software is just annoying and at worst infuriating. You have to close out the app multiple times sometimes for it to actually show the sleep status or other stats. Also, when you take the sock off the base, it feels like you have 30 seconds to put the sock on the baby before it starts giving warning sounds. There should be a way to signal to the app to “start” and “stop” reading. It also needs a stat history option so you can go back and evaluate how your baby has been sleeping over time. Once the sock is off, the stats are gone. The software needs much more improvement to make sense compared to other less expensive options that can give you the same peace of mind..Version: 2.23.0

The app is very unreliableWe are happy with the sock and that it works even when the internet is out…but the app is horrible and incredibly unreliable. We had an unexpected/unexplained episode with our son (5 weeks old) that required a 911 call. Thankfully, he was ok! But the night following said episode, our sock was “disconnected” from the app. We desperately needed to monitor his heart rate and oxygen throughout the night, especially for our own peace of mind and it was impossible. And there was NO WAY to speak to anyone with Owlet support bc it happened at like 12:30am…Owlet’s customer service was closed! We tried every troubleshooting we could find online…after a few very rough and sleepless hours later, their app just starts working normal again and our sock was “reconnected” - it was incredibly frustrating. Then, a few nights later our camera was “offline” even though it was showing connected to the internet and working properly…it’s assumed it was another app failure bc we had no way (once again) to fix it…even after all troubleshooting completed. This sock and camera are incredibly expensive! And for these things to happen is unacceptable. For the price, at least Owlet can include a monitor for the camera. The phone is nice, but it drains the battery..Version: 2.23.0

Live oxygen levelsI had access to line oxygen levels for 2 days and now it has gone away. I don’t know why. My wife never had access to the live levels. The reason we bought the sock was to monitor the oxygen levels as my daughter has rsv. Please fix your app.Version: 2.23.0

Can I give less than 1 star??Can I give less than 1 star?? App is terrible and costumer service is a joke just spent 30 minutes with they’re live chat to have them just tell me it’s my fault for either not connecting it properly or having bad wifi and then they hung up on me hen I refused to not blame them.Version: 2.10.4

Owlet monitorI have been using this monitor for almost 2 years. It was working perfectly. At night I leave it on “background”. Since I updated (March 2023) it will shut off… so no monitor coverage and I don’t realize until it’s too late. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I loved this monitor but will no longer be recommending unless this can be fixed..Version: 2.15.0

App need workThe app is the worst. The price is not worth it, I wish I had done my research before purchasing it. I will say the sock is a great idea giving your baby's heart rate and oxygen level, however, it causes more anxiety when not working and how poorly supported it is by the app. The way it works in regards to the charging station, the location of where it needs to be, and troubleshooting any connection issue is the most annoying and inconvenient. The sock needs to be in the charging station when not in use or else you set off the alerts, and that is also where the alerts noise comes in as well as the app, so you can't have it near a sleeping baby and there is no off button on it (there is snooze) or else levels are not monitored and the app reflects as base station off, in other words not reading levels. We have it outside of the nursery and have to run back and forth when putting it on baby. Just another step in our bed/nap time routine at this point. I continue to use it because when it works it's awesome and I love to see how his hr/O2 fluctuates between sleep cycles, just frustrated with the poor connectivity to the app and the troubleshooting anxiety that one has to go through to get back online/refreshing app especially at 3 am when you are already sleep deprived..Version: 2.23.0
