✓ It's June 2022 and this still works wellYou do need to follow the instructions carefully, but once you've set it up, YouTube videos *within Safari* can be played in the mini overlay mode (and audio even works from the lock screen!). To open a video in Safari rather than in the YouTube app, just tap the 'share' arrow (from the YouTube app) and then 'copy link'. Then paste the link into Safari. Or, if you're already in Safari, long-tap on the link and open the video in a new tab..Version: 2.3.7

✓ Very useful & good but could be betterThis solves the problem & works well, however the issue I have is that the gestures are non standard. It surely should emulate what it’s replacing. It’s almost impossible to do the 2 finger spread to go full screen without it fast forwarding the video as well, it doesn’t support pinch to go back to the normal display, instead swipe down does this but for some bizarre reason it also pauses the video. I’ve knocked off a star because of these puzzling deficiencies, but I’m still very grateful for what it does. I really like how it combines the ease of use of Apple’s native HTML video player with the features of YouTube’s page controls. Access to the full gamut of video playback settings - 4K, 60 FPS and HDR - is available on macOS and iPadOS, and all of the keyboard shortcuts have been preserved. I only have two minor issues to report: - Sometimes, it takes a while for the resolution options to appear after selecting the Auto button - I can’t seem to find a way to watch HDR video, or video higher than 1080p resolution (i.e. 1440p, 4K) on iOS/iPhone Thanks again for a great app. Highly recommended..Version: 2.4.2

✓ Generally good, but some needed correctionsKudos to the developer for replying to reviews, the app is extremely useful but there are some issues (iPhone user): 1. The video quality and speed always default to 720p and 1x speed every time I click another video, can this be rectified so that my choices stay? Even the selection of ‘best’ quality on the vinegar extension does nothing. 2. There is some glitchy movement on screen when selecting video quality or speed, sometimes it even crashes or the video quality select button goes missing. 3. This is more of a request lol: Is it possible to have a saved video selection? So i could use youtube on safari like a music player?
