✓ Outfit design could be betterPeople have talked enough about other problems of this game so I’ll just complain on one thing: When will you stop being lazy with characters’ outfit design? Honestly seeing Luofu’s female outfit being almost the same disappointed me deeply. Seeing HI3’s past outfit design, I can safely say you can still do plenty of fanservice while still making them pretty, but instead you choose to stick with one design and only alter it slightly for each character. ✓ 50/50 tbhI think the storyline and combat is great. However, like genshin impact, there’s just so much dialogue and pointless little objectives that make the quests boring and drawn out. There’s so much that could be summarised or done in one sequence, but you’re constantly having to go back and forth talking to characters about each little plot detail. There’s just too much talking - I like lore, but not when I have to leave mid convo to go and talk to March/etc about the exact same thing and THEN go back again. I just wish some of the sequences were shortened or combined. Would make it much more enjoyable..Version: 1.6.0
✓ It’s not as bad as Genshin Impact, but…Genshin Impact, also by the same company, is extremely broken on my device. The cutscenes, which rival a Square Enix game, will display at the amazing rate of one frame per ten seconds; if even that fast. The sound cuts in and out, too. Regular gameplay doesn’t quite do the same but it does drag significantly if there are areas with lots of characters. I’m happy to say that I haven’t experienced that with this game. I just hope they don’t get sued by the estate of the late Leiji Masumoto for stealing intellectual property. This is a reworked, slightly prettier Galaxy Express 999. In the parts I’ve played, after several minutes of additional downloaded data (the scenery is pretty, the music is calming but, for the love of God, why is there noise like an old vinyl record being played by a worn needle?) the gameplay is nice, the animation is smooth, though there are parts with a very annoying ‘white-out’ of much of the screen. The starting characters are barely tolerable. And why, oh why, can’t you just keep the camera at a third person view instead of making it skew with every stray tap of the screen?.Version: 1.0.5

✓ Amazing Game But…Honkai: Star Rail is such an amazing game with its beautiful graphics and animation as well as its storytelling. I play on a iPad. ( ipad 5 to be exact) and have multiple difficulties with the game very often. The characters and mic’s are turned white and it kicked me out of the game sometimes. ✓ This game was great until…I am an avid lover of Hoyoverse games, including this game. I love playing these games but you seriously have to stop making the bosses harder and harder, it’s clearly an attempt to make people swipe their credit cards. the Starcrusher Swarm King is RIDICULOUSLY difficult. if you keep making bosses like this you’ll find your game flopping. I wasted an incredible amount of resources raising random character after random character just to loose the battle in the story once again, i’m now on my SEVENTEENTH attempt and im ready to quit, ive spoken to many others about this too and they feel like we need an equilibrium changer, like so you can go one down because E4 and above is insanely hard..Version: 1.6.0

✓ Great game, but just lacks contentI’m hovering on 3-4 stars, but the game once you’ve finished the storyline doesn’t have a lot to do. There is no re-exploring areas, the “repeat” content you can play in auto pilot. The last 2 months have felt like logging in is a chore to make sure my “stamina” is all used or not capping out. The relic farming and dusting system is terrible just like Genshin, possibly worse. Enjoyable first couple of months, great game if you want to just do that and enjoy the story and park it for 6 months till there is enough content to play again. ✓ Please fix this.This game is great and all but there’s a problem I noticed that has been going on for a while now and it’s not just with me. What is this problem? After not being active for a few weeks, the account resets and there’s no way to get it back. It’s not the problem with the email because I’m using the appropriate one. And it’s not the server issue because I checked all of them to see if I would get my progress back and didn’t. I’m f2p/free to play, so luckily nothing of value was lost except for two five stars I earned and I was trailblazer lvl 34. After searching up a solution for the problem, none was found. But many others have been saying that the same thing has happened to them and they literally spent money on the game. This has been going on longer than I expected as well, at first I thought it was just a glitch and that I would get my progress back after redoing the prologue, but no. ✓ Not stable for running the gameI try to download which there’s no issue on IPad 4 mini but it start to stick after the loading be the start of the game start at the start of the prologue or opening. Thus, I couldn’t play the game properly that it is stuck during the loading at the near end and then I’ve been hearing for the voice character. And, it feel like something froze somewhere it’s in the opening of the prologue or when I press to star the game..Version: 1.0.5
✓ It’s ok.. but….It’s a really good game, but for some reason my whole account was reset and now I have lost all my progress and have to redo everything I have done so far. This also happened to my brother and we find it really frustrating, we’re not sure on the reason that this happened. When we did some research we found something about the continent/server that you picked at the start of the game. I think that the game shouldn’t let people wipe out all of their progress so easily. There were no warnings saying that my game would reset and when I realised it was too late. I have not had the game for too long so I haven’t lost that much but I am still sad that all my characters and progress were lost, I think that if someone who has had the game for a long time accidentally resets their account it would be devastating for them to lose all the things that they spent so much of their time getting. I also don’t understand why our account gets reset just by changing your server. Other than this it’s a pretty good game and I would definitely recommend getting it as long as you pick the right server at the start and don’t get all your progress deleted..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Turnbased GenshinBasically a carbon copy genshin but with turnbased gameplay. It shares all the exact same pros and cons with only a few changes and improvements. Stop rating games after one day of playing. I hit lvl 40 and finished all quests available to me way too quickly. The gameplay loop at this point is literally a lazy copy and paste of genshin with little to no improvement. Relics are just as annoying, rewards for everything besides simulated world aren’t great, possibly even worse then genshin. There are developed functions that serve no purpose to the game like the friends list… why is there a friends list. There’s no sending/receiving stamina, no co-op play, no clubs/clans so what is the point of it besides borrowing units. Exactly like Genshin the premium currency is dripfed and the rate at which you get basic summons are ridiculously slow besides from character ascension. Overall a decent game which could be A LOT better if Mihoyo weren’t greedy and want you to spend money.Version: 1.0.5

✓ Ok but extreme expensive turn base game…Story is good but many part don’t explain anything and confusing, sometime the transition to next cutscene don’t make any sense feels like they cut out something or rushes skip when talking half way. Main female is voice by mikasa/2B Japanese voice actor but entire story she never opened the mouth to speak but using telepathy with people with text, only when she thinking in her own head you can hear her voice. The story progress will become harder when you not able to grind for exp book to lv your characters when run out of stamina trailblazer power/resins. Later you will struggle even more because you don’t have good characters, because free characters will start to struggle with story battles. It uses same stamina system in genshin where stamina is extreme low and extreme slow to recover! The gacha rate is same as genshin, extreme terrible lowest rate compare to all other gacha games out there. Good luck spending money on this single player turn base gacha game. Because I don’t see any worth of playing this compare to other Japanese turn base gacha game where you get strong by leeching in anyone raid and get material or weapon drops to get strong than pay gacha to get strong, also you can even play 24/7 without running out of stamina than waiting stupid 18 hours for resin/trailblazer power to recover!!!!!.Version: 1.0.5

✓ I can’t get in, I need help.So, I played Honkai Star Rail from day one and had to stop for a while because of storage issues. I finally got the storage space needed and decided to play again, except there is a problem. After I had downloaded almost 11gb worth of updates and such, when the game was finally getting ready to launch, it would go to the part that says “patch running”. But it would never move, it would stay at 0% for hours, not even .01%. I have tried everything to get past this issue, I tried offloading it, updating my iPhone, and much more. And there is still absolutely no difference. I’m pretty sure it’s a bug and not my phone, since I’ve done everything I can on my part. I’m extremely upset because I was so excited about this free five star. But if you can’t fix this then I can kiss that goodbye. By the way, I really do love your games and I’m not trying to sound rude, I’m just upset because I was really excited, any help is GREATLY appreciated. P.S. ✓ It’s okay…The game itself isn’t that bad, the character design is something that really caught my attention. the designs are definitely better than Genshin Impact! I really like the attack animation. But however, I have to Admit that I put my expectations a little to high. Starting off, I don’t like how the characters have to take turn when fighting an opponent. The cool downs are also very slow…and you aren’t allow to dodge and move around freely during battles. Pressing buttons is pretty much all you have to do. I am a genshin player myself, so dodging is something I expect everytime when I’m having to fight a boss or whatever. In Honkai StarRail there isn’t a choice to dodge. And you basically just let your opponent hit you…there is also no Co-op options. Which I was pretty upset about. Other than the character designs and animations- I really have nothing to be impressed about. But highly recommend if you like clicking and fighting games. ✓ It’s good, butThe characters, story, gameplay is nice. But grinding for relics and materials becomes quite time consuming (I gave up playing because of this after playing from release-blade’s banner. I have 90 of the fuel topups and the 2.4k extra + the usual 240 tp almost always, not even bothering to use it anymore like other games) and boring day after day. Especially relics which takes much longer, and the auto play system isn’t much help, often letting characters get killed by stronger enemies or using ultimates on enemies with one hit shields/low health and targeting smaller enemies instead of the boss. It would be nice if it had a replay system where auto play would repeat previous moves to not worry about auto play messing up. (Similar to reverse 1999’s) besides that, all of it is amazing, and I would have given 5* rating.Version: 1.5.0

Doesn’t play well with iCloud Keychain, the home-grown “captcha” requires a magnifying glass to complete, the verification code has far too short a timeout for email and after a couple of inevitable failed attempts (due to the poor integration with iCloud Keychain) the account is locked for 10 minutes. ✓ Basic starvation gameFrom the time ive started playing this game ive seen the same routine they pull in genshin and is the reason im just waiting for other games to come out. At some point in the game roughly when ur out of story you run out of stuff to do and are extremely limited on playing, unless u spend real money same thing as genshin. The starvation players feel when playing this companies games will eventually turn against them in the long run with having maybe 20-30 mins max to play hsr after finishing story to not having enough options to pull on banners when they throw them out like candy. Every other gatcha game gives a good amount of rewards and compensation to allow players to not feel obligated to spend money to have fun. This game doesnt have enough content from launch to have the players feel the need to play since there isnt a actual end goal like pvp or the ability to sit and enjoy the grind of gearing there characters fully with how crappy the energy system is and the lack of materials to get more energy, i think u get about 1600 energy till u need to spend real money or wait 24h till u refill which takes u 5 mins to use all that was refilled. ✓ Good but needs moreSo the game is quite gorgeous and runs smoothly. Some things the game definitely needs are a way to skip cutscenes. You can aggressively push forward through them by tapping, but since I am right handed I sometimes click prompts which bothers me. Maybe move the prompts elsewhere or give us a real option to skip them. Sorry I know you guys put in work to make these but when doing a simple retrieve side quest I’d like it to run faster. Secondly there’s no pity system when using the warp. I do find he game entertaining so I threw 40 dollars to see if I could pull Steele and nothing. Unfortunately it’s money gone to the wind because I made no progress into getting her. Also you should probably add a currency that lets you upgrade eldelolons like blank eldelon since it’s near impossible to pull the 5 star heroes. Relics are okay. Definitely needs a filter system to find wanted substats when building heroes. It’s a good start. A quick note on skills and light cones. I’m using welt with Hidden Shadow. I have ADD and unfortunately from time to time I can’t recall if I did skill or basic attack last. It would be nice to have an icon letting me know my next basic attack is buffed. Lastly, why doesn’t March 7th Girl Power generate skills points since she is effectively using her basic attack?.Version: 1.0.5
✓ I like it so far but…Great game but the only thing that’s killing it is giving the enemy a turn to fight back. I don’t like how the enemy gets a chance to attack and we can’t dodge or fight back. If there’s an update, I’d want it to be more like genshin where we can continuously fight back and use attacks. The attacks in this one don’t give much diversity and feels like Pokémon where we have to just stand there. Also very time consuming when the character is vs 4 enemy’s so it’s already an unfair fight. Wish it was more flexible in allowing users to have that same mobility like genshin..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Mixed opinionsI have very mixed opinions about this game. at first when i played it on release, i loved it and spend a week or 2 playing it pretty consistently as i was getting bored of genshin and honkai 3rd. HOWEVER, this game is only good if you like turn based gameplay. as much as i love the character designs and animations, i personally couldnt stand waiting and taking back and forth turns as i like quick and consistent gameplay. also even with the speed up function on, the battles still seem relatively slow. however, i must say that the pity system with weapon equivalents (i forgot the name) gacha is actually much better then genshin, and the wish animation is better (in my opinion). overall i would say that this game is like marmite. you either love it or you hate it tbh.Version: 1.2.0

I think the game has amazing visuals and just what to expect from a Honkai game, but the game itself is lacking which isn’t a bad thing right now as it has only been released. A few suggestion to keep the game more ‘worth grinding’ is to add a PVP function similar to Epic 7’s where you can have guild wars, normal arena, and real time battling, as Honkai Star Rail does not have much to offer as a PVE game, it’ll be quite boring if all you do is kill NPCs. On the other hand, early game progression is really slow as there isn’t a skip button for the dialogue, some people don’t care about the story and only want to play for the actual gameplay. Additionally, early game bonuses are lacklustre and entirely incomparable to other ‘turn-based’ RPGs released, which in some cases with free to play players falling behind as they do not have the ability to purchase in-game currency to get the stronger characters that can help them move forwards..Version: 1.0.5

There is a huge a,out of unskippable dialogue that honestly just detracts from the gameplay. Character levelling and skill levelling is confusing and a lot more complicated than it needs to be. Then there’s the gaptcha mechanic. It’s simply not as good as many other games already existing in this segment. I’ve played through 2 characters of the game and already have a good understanding of what will happen so this is my honest review of Honkai star rail. The graphics and VA’s are amazing but to be honest for me that’s all that is good about this game. The storyline doesn’t make sense and there’re random cutscenes everywhere where half the time nothing important happens unlike genshin and Honkai impact. The gameplay is fine with the turn based style slow and the bursts (even though beautiful) tiring after the 10th time with most of them feeling like over 30 seconds unless you press the speed up button which you have to unlock. I know it’s only the first day but even the rewards are sad with when in the livestream they sounded to be better than they actually are. I’m not trying to tell people to not try this game cause it is worth trying and maybe this is just my own opinion, I just believe that the time I spent on this game could be better off on genshin or Honkai impact..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Very fun but crashes a lot :(Honkai star rail is a very enjoyable game that i love! however, it freezes randomly, doesn’t let me through cutscenes without crashing and it’s laggy. i’m not sure if it’s my device problem (i had similar issues with genshin impact too) but other games have been perfectly fine! please fix this as soon as possible because i seriously can’t get through any quests/dialogue without crashing many, many times (took me 14 tries just to get through the first bit of the xianzhou luofu..) i’m sure that i would rate this game a 5 stars if not for the constant crashing and lag! <3.Version: 1.6.0
