✓ A 40K mobile game that I actually want to playIt’s rare to see a well-designed 40K mobile game to keep me engaged. ✓ Surprisingly goodThe game’s got a lot of great points. The artwork and animation stand out and the gameplay itself is engaging (there are enough things to track that you stay entertained but few enough that you don’t get confused, a bad decision can make or break the game, and the hero abilities feel fun, responsive, and impactful). The progression and character unlock systems are rewarding, too. My complaints are that the game is very grinding driven. A lot of the experience is locked behind time gates or pay walls, and I’m not convinced that a series of missions that will provide maybe 20-30 minutes of dedicated gameplay are worth an hour or two’s pay - particularly not since there aren’t a lot of voluntary ad options with which to bypass obstacles. You’re looking at paying $30 for heroes that use the same resources as everybody else (so once you spend the money you don’t get to play the game more, just differently) followed by multi-hour waits to go through surges of gameplay that last, at most, five to ten minutes. It can be extremely frustrating, which makes me hesitant to spend money, which is sad because a lot of the heroes look like fun! The dollar to entertainment ratio just isn’t weighty enough. Great way to burn through a few hours before you start hitting plateaus and getting frustrated. There are also a few bugs and oversights here and there but they’re not major. The main issue is how aggressively the devs decided to enforce a glacial rate of play..Version: 1.0.20

It’s the best mobile 40k game to date but it’s not without its flaws and most of them I can overlook and get over but I just can’t understand why there’s an 11hr wait between battles on most game modes .. it’s baffling to me the game clearly wants to be played and yet it’s almost impossible to keep your attention over the course of the day as the only thing you can play consistently is the campaign.. and arena but that’s timed also … and I assumed when I started that the clock reseats at midnight and you get all your attempts back but it’s 11hrs sometimes to be able to battle 1 time and then an 11hr wait again ! It’s a beautifully made game with awesome lore and characters from the table top and black library in there but held back massively by the sheer amount of time you have to wait to be able to play more of the games alternative modes.Version: 1.0.13

✓ Great fun so farI’ve been playing this on and off a few days, probably 5 hours total. It’s a fun game, I enjoy the art style and the amount of things to do so far. I wish new units unlocked a little faster, or were easier to level to a usable point, but it is what it is :) My biggest concern is the sheer cost of the in-app purchases, they’re much too high for micro transactions. Shouldn’t be $30 or more for a new campaign, or what have you. I’ll just go replay Skyrim at that point, you know? But overall, a lot of fun so far and enjoyable as F2P!.Version: 1.0.13

Though this does have a bug where for some reason I cannot claim bounties after a certain point of playing and the monetization is a bit crazy with 30$ price tags on packs containing three characters. Strategic and fun, hero models and animation is beautiful. If anything they're actually TOO generous with finding new characters early on, you'd appreciate each a bit more if it took longer to find them. Plots okay, dialogue maybe needs more hardcore fans' input. Definitely room to add many more campaigns and factions over time to keep it all fresh, especially Tau and Eldar. ✓ Great startTacticus is a great game for 40k fans who want to play a skirmish version but don’t have the time or space. Tacticus is a streamlined version of 40k, but that is a positive. This game is an excellent gateway to getting new players acclimated with the 40k units and universe. No it’s not going to replace Kill Team or a full blown game of 40k. It is however a nice little mobile game that lets you play as important characters and not just the run of the mill grunts. ✓ Game brings good gameplay loop but needs some fine tweakingIt goes without saying this game plays similar to SW:GoH in character collection and whatnot. My big consideration however moreso aligns with the 'Orb' system alongside collecting character shards/fragments in that it's rng dependant and methods to acquire are few and far between (as well as timegated), as a result slowing down the game substantially now I get timegating things to keep everyone in reasonable standings however the rewards for onslaught in particular albeit nice for target farming are a thorn in the side due to it being one of two ways to acquire orbs without grabbing a credit card and it's not even guaranteed that you receive one this by extension puts you in a waiting for the timer gameplay loop instead of enjoying the game. Yarrick needs a nerf. Otherwise game is fun, challenging, accomodates 40k fans well..Version: 1.0.13

✓ Just started and enjoying itSo far so good. This is a great IP. I just started and this game has been fun. The tutorial has been useful and game play has been straight forward. I am curious how the micro transactions will impact later on. I haven’t paid a dime and I have still been able to effectively play the campaign and a few other modes. As part of a guild you do group missions and I have always liked that in a game. My hope is that I’ll be able to power up and succeed with the factions I like and ignore the ones I don’t. That being said, for a brand spanking NEW release I am amazed that I have not encountered one single bug and the gameplay is fun, easy, and actually enjoyable. Leveling up your heroes is easy and clear to understand while still maintaining class balance. The story modes are well scripted and extremely easy to follow along on. ✓ Great game so far!This game is amazing. It is like playing Kill Team without having to build and paint models, or wake up your drunk friends. Matches last a few minutes so you don’t have to dedicate a whole smoke break to a single match. The only complaint I have is that there are so many varieties of in-game currencies, it’s hard to keep up with it all or know how much you have. For a Pay-to-Win game, the prices are reasonable. ✓ Awesome gameThe best Warhammer 40k game on mobile, fun, challenging but not impossible, plenty of factions to choose from, with amazing visuals and plenty of iconic characters from the lore to keep you coming back for more. ✓ Good but LootboxesThe game seems amazing. Has some cool ideas from tabletop Warhammer implemented into the game. Biggest issue is it really tries to force your hand to buy content, which is pretty sad seeing that there’s a massive cast of cool characters you could potentially play but only if you’re willing to shovel out $100+. It would also be cool to see more characters and factions brought into the game, perhaps some Chaos factions or some Tyranids. But for now it is genuinely fun. Easily one of the best digital Warhammer games out there besides Total War. Easy 5 stars if not for the pay wall..Version: 1.1.3

✓ Fun game, dial down the pricesGame is fun, I’m having a blast, recommending to friends— I feel it’s a pretty good intro to 40k. I love how there are 8 factions right out the gate, including Orks (yes!). Gameplay is pretty cool, somewhat addicting. Not to shallow, not too deep. It’s a pretty respectable tactics game, with some great ways to advance your different heroes you collect. There’s seemingly lots planned for this game down the road. New factions, new modes, looks like they will be expanding the social aspects as well. Definitely looks interesting. Only thing I don’t like, the prices are kind of crazy. And the way it keeps reminding you about buying things, it’s like you’re trying to enjoy the game, and a used car salesman is sitting next to you the whole time, who is as gimmicky as he is desperate. If the prices were reasonable, I’d be inclined to spend some money, if not just to support such a polished, fun game. But the prices for in game purchases now seem like a joke..Version: 1.0.71

✓ The voice of the people has been heardI feel like the gameplay is pretty straightforward, very fast, with fun opportunities for learning strategy. I am tired of Ultramarines, though. There are several other chapters and many more sub chapters, but all we get are Ultramarines, Blood Ravens, and Blood Angels, not to mention the dozens of Xeno races and factions besides chaos, green bois, Tyrannids, and Necrons. (Tau, Eldar, etc). I haven’t played through everything though so maybe they’ll be more factions introduced. This is a nice lite game to help tide your cravings until either you have time to play a PC game or until the next “AAA” game of the franchise comes out. I would like a simple game that you pay for up front that doesn’t bombard you with chests and offers. I suppose we won’t be seeing those anymore but I miss them. Mechanicus is such a game, but it just has a few bugs to iron out, and the gameplay is devilishly hard. What I really like, however, is the involvement with the creator communities. I think that’s cool to see the names of known YouTubers steaming content..Version: 1.0.13
✓ A must for fans of turned based gamesI have a Warhammer game on PC and I regret buying it! NO REGRETS HERE! I love the tempo, missions, characters and upgrades. Of course there’s a paywall- otherwise they couldn’t afford to make such a cool game. So far I’m on level 5 and don’t see the necessity to buy things to advance. The rest of the way-howver- remains to be seen… Best of all PVP battles are real time and you don’t cue up your turn while you wait for your opponents move which could take hours or days. The graphics and music keeps you engaged. Up until now- I thought Uniwar was the best turned based hex game in the apple store. Not any more! Tacticus is a must buy! Go grab it!.Version: 1.0.13
✓ Really funIt’s a lot better than what I was expecting. I figured it was going to be another card game, but with 3D character models. Feels a lot more like a mobile version of Battlesector.
