✓ If I could give it less stars I wouldDeserves negative five stars. I’ve run the math it actually robs you. The abilities some you could theoretically pay for actually do nothing I have got my offline income cap up to 8.5 hours and I did the math I’m not even getting half what I should be. Fish egg speed does nothing nor does the speed defense buffs they don’t translate to actual game mechanics this game is a grift I could live with the ripoff of feed and grow but this isn’t even a good game just tells a bunch of lies to get you to spend and get nothing for it.Version: 1.7.3

✓ Game is fun, Ads kill itIf it did not have an ad every second, it could potentially nearly reach 3 maybe 4 stars. But no. There is an ad for every 20 seconds. It makes it annoying to progress in battles because it only processes you won after watching a 30 second ad, then it is 50/50 if you get rewarded. Super greedy company. They have a bundle for you to get no ads. What is it like 10 dollars? Only an idiot would buy that. The only good part about the game is the merging. It’s nice to check on the game every few hours but constant playing is not happening. The battle is really not fun either. Survive though is terrible. Only for the reason that things will spawn right in your face so you can’t do a thing. It’s not even like you can see it coming. It just appears out of nowhere in your face. So I downloaded, not knowing how disappointed I would be. Sure, you are still a fish, but it is a slow, easy-to-win game, it not as interesting or cool as I thought it would be. Coins are slow to get, and it constantly lags, and if I want to use a power up, I have to watch adds. You can’t even buy it. ✓ Something you should know…This app claims it is online multiplayer. It isn’t. You can prove it by putting your phone into airplane mode with wifi off. You’ll still be matched in their “online multiplayer” battles. Now onto the ads - would you play a game on a console like a switch or a PlayStation where you had to watch ads just to play? I wouldn’t. This is that. If you find it fun, which I do, you’ll want to just pay for the ad-less version and be on your way. But don’t try and skimp out because the basic ad-less version doesn’t block all ads. Only interstitial ads. So, you know, more ads. So now you know: this game is not online multiplayer - it’s AI driven, your score is likely not actually on any leaderboards, and the ads are just to waste your time by throwing more time wasting games your way. ✓ False Advertising - the game isn’t good enough to show offThe Devs know the game is repetitive and isn’t interesting enough to lure people in, so they lie about the content in ads. The real game almost fun for all of one level, then everything after that is the same, you just unlock new skins to play against “real players.” The ads show a game that would be more interesting if it were real; they spend more effort in advertisement than they do the actual game. They’ll probably make up some lame justification for their disgraceful dishonesty like “well it’s in the same spirit as the real game!” I can’t play this game anymore. I timed how long I was playing the game for, and how long I was stuck in ads that I couldn’t get out of for 30 minutes straight. It was almost 75% of the time that I was in an ad, it was only about 25% of the time that I could play the game. I don’t mind paying a reasonable amount to remove ads and support developers but in order to remove the ads it’s subscription based. More than a few models were taken from the PC game Feed and Grow: Fish, namely the megalodon, meat chunks and piranha which were completely copied over. ✓ Doesn’t Give Proper RewardsI bought one of the packs to remove ads, as both of my older boys and myself enjoyed playing this game. In that advertised pick, which now in the store shows “Owned,” it says I am supposed to receive 3,200 gems/diamonds every day. Or at least that’s how it’s made to look. I haven’t received even a fraction of that, and I’m pretty sure it’s been over a week now. On top of that, all of the “activities” like the wheel and the other bonuses.. It says you get 3 free chances a day, per activity offered. However, after the initial three chances on the first day I unlocked them, I have received ZERO other chances. It just says “will reset at 0:00:00 each day” or something like that. Literally everything else about the game is awesome. The evolutions are fun, the “multiplayer” which just seems like the other .io games, and even the survival is fun. ✓ Intrusive ads with hidden XSo let me start off by saying this game is fun, great if you need a break. However, the fact that ad options pop up after every 2-4 interactions gets irritating. That’s fine, I can live with it as long as the game balances it out, but what breaks it for me is that the developers hide the X button on forced ads unless you repeatedly tap the screen to make it appear after 5 seconds of watching the ad AND it appears for a split section so you have to tap it quickly just to exit the ad. Why would they do that you might ask? To force you to buy one of their 2 ad removal bundles. A subscription for just a week of ad removal, one for $3 and one for $10. One completely removes all ads and one only removes the forced ads. I’m sorry but if playing for 30mins forces me to watch 10 mins worth of ads it’s not worth it for me. ✓ Fun game but..Update 7/2/23 I bought season pass bundle and was more than half way through one of the 3, now I login and it says I need to purchase again and all my progress is gone but I still have the sharks from the pass.. can’t figure out how to get in touch with support It’s a fun game and I really enjoyed it.. and if you by the ad free bundle, they legitimately mean no ads.. it’s been fantastic. But once you get to the level 41 fish, your inventory fills up, there’s nothing to chase to make you want to keep playing AND you lose the ability for upgrades because you have to “create a new fish” in order for an upgrade to unlock.. It is basically a knock-off of that hungry shark game, where you go around eating things. It was not at all what was advertised. I know that games scam you with advertisements a lot, but it just sorta sucked anyways. (And it kicked me out after about thirty seconds.) The only reason I gave it two stars, is because you might like it if you know what your getting. ✓ Great game/bad protocolI want so badly to rate this one as a full 5 stars. I love the development of each fish, the different aspects of the game, and the online multiplayer. The reason I can only give 3 stars is because it doesn’t follow the advertised protocol for ad removal. I made the $2.99 purchase for the ad removal and a few assets, but still have to sit through ads after rounds as if I never made the purchase. Developers should honor what they advertise when it comes to people who are willing to pay for a good application and game. Great fun, although it’s clear you are fooled into thinking your playing against other real players - you are not. - The same ‘player’ names appear in every other game I play. - Other ‘players’ have photos as their profile pictures, and it’s not possible to change your pfp to a real photo in game. - At such a high level, you’d expect other players to be fairly competent at the game, swimming and doing nothing when attacked (80% of what so-called real ‘players’ are doing) proves these are bots. - During the squid round it’s clear all other ‘players’ are bots. I’ve never actually got to play as a fish against a player-controlled squid. All the squids I’ve encountered are bots. ✓ Bugs and gameplay suckedI was on level 15 one day but when I check the next, I was back to level twelve. I checked and other people have had that issue as well. The gameplay also was awful. Their was almost no point in the fights since everyone else was a boy and the fire squid for whatever reason targets you on some rounds then doesn’t on others. When you win the fights which you almost always do since there’s no competition, the battles give very little coins compared to how much you need to get to the next level.
