✓ Loved…at firstWhen I first downloaded the app, I got popup ads after each game played and that was acceptable. But now I’m getting them in the middle of a game and it breaks my concentration and is utterly annoying. Most of these ads consist of a page of (what looks like) articles, teasers for ads, obviously. ✓ Nice Game spoiled by poorly designed ads!This app provides good practice for Wordle so you can replace one daily dose of Wordle by hours of similarly wasted time. Better than hours wasted playing Sudoku! You even learn some 5-letter words. And practice some of your 4-letter words! It uses a reasonably large dictionary of words so is better than all of the competitors that I’ve tried. But the inevitable ads are not well curated: At best there is a “Close” button which you can spot quickly and so ignore the ad’s content. “No, for the nth time, I don’t want to make Google Chrome my default browser, but thanks for the polite invitation”. Then there are those ads with a count down: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, x. So a pause for a sip of whatever until the welcome “x” appears and you can get on with the game you came for. Slightly less polite but I haven’t yet seen anything interesting to me in those ads. But inevitably there will be the ad that covers the page and leaves no way out but to report this to the Google Ads department. (Who would click on such an aggressive ad? I’m not a psychiatrist so I can’t help you with that one.). And then the ad disappears to be replaced by an message from Google Ads that also covers the page so you still have to delete the app and all it’s “data” and maybe start again. Or maybe not. I think I’ll go back to reading good books. Wordle takes a few minutes a day and is free up to now. And the New York Times has interesting and informative articles. It keeps a history of your progress up the scale of “Phew!” to “Genius” (I.e. “Fluke”). The “What Word” keeps track of similar data which is reset every time you are forced to reload the App. I’d probably be willing to pay $X to get an ad-free version of this app. I’ll let the Ad boys at Google decide on “X”. I’ll keep an eye open for the appearance of such an app in the App Store. Bye, bye for now,.Version: 1.0
✓ Super annoying adsI am happy for game developers to feed ads. They need to make a living. But the ads in this game were super interruptive. They take over the whole screen and you have to let them play for 20-45 seconds. You can’t skip or move past. And I had to watch 5 ads to play a single round of the game. ✓ This app turns off my audiobookI’m deleting this app because it turns off my audiobook. I usually listen to audiobooks when I play games. I tried to report the problem in the App Store but it wouldn’t work. Then I tried to get on the website and that didn’t work either. There doesn’t seem to be a settings button so I can’t turn off the sound on the app. I usually play the first time without the audiobook so I can turn off the sound on the app. In that time I noticed that the bottom row of the keys to type the word is in the wrong place so when I type vexed I get vezed. The bottom row is not in the same place as on a typewriter. This app is just too much trouble. And the enter key is not in a convenient place..Version: 1.0

✓ Good game but way too many adsThis is a good game to challenge your brain and solve the word puzzles but the interruptions with tedious ads are very annoying, too frequent and longer than expected. Plus they are difficult to clear because hitting the X in order to close or skip the ads often is unresponsive and requires multiple attempts to close them. ✓ Not like NYT gameMy second word was ROADS, a simple plural of a common noun. The NYT Wordle specifically doesn't do that and I prefer it that way, more fun. Deleted the game immediately. BTW, after one game I got an ad, for another Wordle game, which I thought was pretty funny. Also stands in contrast to people saying this game doesn't have ads. ✓ Too many ads & turns audio offIt’s not a bad game, but it’ll throw in an ad after an attempt and the ad is minute long most of the time. This is super annoying. I know it’s a free game, but come on. Have the ad after you finish the game. It also overrides my audio so you can’t listen to music or podcast at the same time. And, there no way to turn off the obnoxious ad audio so if you’re playing in a public place the audio ads will come on and you have to scramble to manually mute it. Again, super annoying.
