✓ Asks for a donation type, should ask for date firstBecause I sometimes donate platelets, sometimes platelets and plasma, it makes no sense for the app to make me select which donation type before it lets me make the appointment. At the very least, it should allow for selecting both platelets and plasma, instead of insisting on just one or the other..Version: 2.1
✓ Not the bestIt was hard to navigate. The title for the main blood bank in Santa Barbara just said Santa Barbara and the address. I wasn’t sure this was the same place. Had to do a quick Google search. Then to navigate back, I had to use the arrows, not click on the boxes given in the top as I scrolled through..Version: 2.3
✓ Date and time selectionDate and time display and selection could be better, more intuitive..Version: 2.4
✓ Login waaaay too tight!!!The app works pretty well. It allows you to find and book appointments. But, make an error or two with your password and you get locked out for nearly an hour. You aren’t allowed to call in to clear the block. Since I only log in every other month, this is a big pain in the $&*[$&!!!.Version: 2.1
✓ Ignores inputLike the unusable Web site’s appointment function, the app asks for user input - like distance radius - then ignores it, giving a map of the entire Chicago area. It wastes time and is aggravating and confusing. No wonder people don’t donate, when you make it so unnecessarily difficult to make a donation appointment..Version: 2.2.3
✓ App is brokenCan’t log in, it says sign-in error and locked me out. Tried to reset password, and it says no account exists with my email (the same email where I got a notification that I was locked out). Tried to create new email, and it says account already exists with my email. Can’t win..Version: 2.2.3
✓ SpammersFor a while I was giving blood regularly at comic cons and my local vitalant office but then they had some kind of consolidation under the vitalant and got real spammy. I asked them to stop calling me with reminders a few years ago but they started up again in typical marketing fashion and have been calling me every week again. Now I want nothing to do with them, so good job..Version: 2.2.3
✓ Not the bestIt would be easier to show openings that are available. It’s annoying when I have to go back to the beginning and start over each time the site tells me nothing is available. I was ready to give up and just call and make an appointment..Version: 2.2.3
✓ Calendar appointment function does not work properlyWhen I selected my type of blood donation and location, the app would not let me select “morning” when I know for a fact there are morning appointments spots available. Frustrating..Version: 3.0.2
✓ App works like crapWhen you try to create an account the app crashes. I have an email on file and when I click forgot password it says it does not exist and the crashes. I have the newest version as of January 9,2023. My phone is also up to date. Customer service said they can’t help either with the app…..Awesome…..Version: 2.1
✓ Not better than websiteIf I am going to bother using your app instead of just your website, it should make scheduling better, but I don’t see any improvement. When it asked me to confirm my appointment time, all I can see on the screen is the time but not the date. Clicking back and forth between “show available times” and morning / evening was pretty clumsy..Version: 2.2.1
✓ It’s giving free UX academy projectIt’s fine. The jumping blood logo is nauseating. The gradient is fine. I appreciate the security measures, but I resent them. I don’t want to be logged out ever. I really hate the booking process. I understand that there might be technical restrictions to pulling up appointments, but in my opinion, it should be very easy to change: - the type of donation appointment - the location of the appointment Ideally, I’d like to be able to select when I’d like to donate, then see what types of appointments are available and where. ✓ Needs tweakingIf the time available on a certain date does not fit the donor’s schedule, the donor has to start from the beginning to find another date or time. It would be more user friendly if an entire week or month could be viewed when looking for an appointment for donation. Takes more time to schedule than the prior application..Version: 2.2.3
✓ SuggestionsShouldn’t have to reset miles distance every time I try to make an appointment. Please store last value searched. Should be able to set a default donation center or at least use last center scheduled. Shouldn’t get kicked back out to beginning of make an appointment every time an appointment is not available on a day. Please just back up one step not to beginning. This “New App” is a pretty big step backward from capabilities of previous. Maybe works better on PC..Version: 3.0
✓ Scheduling an appointmentI have been trying to set up an appointment, whole blood. Very hard to find an appointment. Used to be, I would pick a day, and time. No problem, now each day and time seems like it says no times available? Even when I check 2 weeks in advance.Version: 2.2.3
✓ Pretty good, but…I like the app; it’s pretty self explanatory and easy to use. But I have two issues: 1) after my donation, it automatically scheduled my next one. I get this may be convenient for some people, but my schedule is inconsistent and I’d like the option to opt out of automatic appointments and schedule my own manually. 2) I have to search for my donation center every time I schedule an appointment and I’d like to be able to save my preferred location. Other than that, great app for regular donors..Version: 2.1
✓ FrustratedI kept trying to make an appointment and going in circles on your site. It has taken me 30 minutes to try to schedule an appointment if I was in a committed blood donor, I would’ve given up long ago. This is absolutely frustrating..Version: 3.0
✓ Could be better if it shows normal donation sitesWhile I’m using the app it hard to navigate for making appointments I wish it would show your normal donation sites the mapping is sometimes hard to get to show your preference on location booking.Version: 2.1
✓ Why does the app have such high reviews?I appreciate the ease of donating through vitalant, but these reviews seem to be about the website. The app is useless to me. It won’t retain or remember my login/password ever. So I can only use the app if I use an easy, not secure password I can remember or I have to reset my password every time I try to log in..Version: 3.0.2
✓ Better but still has glitchesThe app allowed me to confirm an appointment for a plasma donation at a time and even sent a confirmation email with the specific details for it but I arrived and it was incorrect with whole blood and a different time. However, the app is much more user friendly than the old one..Version: 2.2.3
✓ Need more info!!!I am all about donating blood or platelets. I get continuous calls to do so. However, when I come to the app, there is a little information to tell me what I'm signing up for. How is platelet donation different than whole blood? How long will it take? What do I need to do to prepare? As you can see from these questions I have a little bit of apprehension as this is different than what I have donated previously. also, at the facility that's closest to me, there are limited appointments available. As I try and book further out, it says there are no appointments available. Why is this the case?.Version: 2.2
✓ Login issues as usualDoesn’t recognize email address,.. even using the facial recognition. Login issue errors,…errors,… errors ,..errors,..how do you expect people to use this app if it doesn’t work?… there are other options for people to Donate blood,… and none of them involve Vitalant. Your company is headed down the toilet with the type of support and ease of access you don’t want to provide.. fix your app. Or watch you donations plummet as people go elsewhere because they are tired of your 1 star app..Version: 2.2

✓ Difficult to useIt is very difficult to schedule an appointment. I’m using an iPad and the screen is very small, does not show the date when you are selecting a time, states that there are no appointments available for that evening when looking for an afternoon appointment, and did not change the date when I went back to the calendar to change it. ✓ Updates eliminate access and functions not intuitiveThe concept for this app is great but the execution is poor. Despite evidence of continuing improvement, I find this site frustrating because of frequent dropping of biometrics and personal info. ✓ App is very clunkyBooking an appointment with app is frustrating. Suppose you’d like to book an appointment on June 10. You have to enter type of donation you want to make, your location, find a donation site, pick a date, then pick a time. Now not all sights have times that match the time I am available to donate on June 10. So maybe June 10 isn’t the date I want or maybe I want to choose another donation site… when you click back to choose another day or site, the app forgets EVERYTHING that was entered and you have to start over from scratch. ✓ Can’t create an online accountThe app recognizes me as a previous donor. When I complete the required information and select create account the app disappears. I tried three times thinking I may have done something wrong. Each time - zap…. it just vanishes..Version: 2.2
✓ QuirkyThis app is not easy to work with. It is difficult to schedule appointments at the donation center in Lubbock,Tx. When you enter your desired location it displays blood drives around the area but very seldom the Lubbock Donation Center. Also, when I fill out the donation form online the day of my donation, staff can never find it and I have to fill it out again. I want to donate when needed but scheduling online is a hassle!.Version: 2.1
✓ Always have to re-sign inThis might be so much perception, but it seems like every single time I go to this app I have to re-sign in. It shouldn’t have to be that difficult to keep this app active especially when it’s not some thing I go to on a regular basis since I gave POWER read and can we do so about once a quarter.Version: 2.2.1
