Banish - Block 'Open in App' for Positive User Reviews

Where has this been all my life?I absolutely abhor being redirected over to an app, or worse, pestered to download a new one when I’m browsing the internet. So, yeah. This is basically the best thing ever. Thank you so much for creating this!.Version: 1.9

👍🏾👍🏾Reddit banners gone (just make sure you don’t have the app installed)… and my data is not collected great job!!.Version: 1.23

Finally an app for this !!!Great work by the developer on this very useful app. It does exactly what it say very well..Version: 1.9

Unique Outstanding Design App!I would like to sit down and take the time to talk about this 5 Star Design app! The Developer has put a great deal of Hard work Time Sweat and yes Love into the Coding of this software! For you myself and our family it’s easy to set up and use! If in your busy schedule you are taking the time to read this I hope you will Download this Unique Outstanding Design App now! Don’t wait or put it off you won’t be sorry! ( really ) well time for me to move on so they say with that thought I want to Thank the Developer for putting this app out here for all of us! I truly truly appreciate and Tip my Hat to you Mr. Developer for a great Idea that you gave with your Heart! Thanks 🎩.Version: 1.4

Makes browsing so much betterThis app is awesome. I browse Reddit and Twitter frequently on Safari and the Open in App banners have been annoying me for the longest time. I’m glad I found this app, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone..Version: 1.1

FixedIt also works to block websites from forcing you to use their app in order to view certain content instead of using safari! thanks to this app I can keep using Safari. Love it! 👍😎 They fixed it to work on zillow. Thanks.Version: 1.40

Extra helpfulSo i already have popup blockers through different adblocking extensions, but these only prevent unsolicited popups that show up when the page first loads. reddit and twitter have an insidious design where clicking on "reply" or "see all comments" will summon a popup or redirect you to a sign-up page and this new app prevents that from happening too by disabling those buttons..Version: 1.20

Love it.Such a simple extension that saves so much frustration..Version: 1.14

I can read The NY Times againThank you so much for this app. It’s worth every penny. I can open the NYT in Safari without the constant and infuriating screen nagging me to use the NYT app. (I had even contacted NYT Support and they could not stop the pop-up either. ) I pay for the NYT subscription and I should be able to read it the way I want. Thanks to Banish, I can do that again..Version: 1.35

WorksActually blocks them lol.Version: 1.10

New to thisHope this app works as it says it will very excited.Version: 1.38

Finally.Well worth it. I hate using things like yelp or Reddit that try to force you to download thier apps. This all but solved it. Excellent.Version: 1.10

Thank youI can’t believe this isn’t built in literally the most annoying part of an iPhone thank you so much.Version: 1.7

It’s greatThank you very much.Version: 1.3

Responsive developer. App works!Had an issue with a recent update breaking functionality. Once I identified it, the developer fixed the issue within 2 days. Very responsive. I successfully use the app to block popups in safari. It may not work on all websites. But for me, it works well..Version: 1.24

It Works WellThis app actually blocks reddit irritating popups!.Version: 1.43

Most Useful App In YearsIt makes the internet useable again on iPhone..Version: 1.10

Works well, developer is responsiveI didn’t realize how annoying the pop ups were until Banish blocked them. Nice utility..Version: 1.15

It does precisely what it’s supposed to doMakes browsing Reddit and other sites much more tolerable on the iPhone..Version: 1.12

Google pop up removal. After much annoyance by Google popping up every time I use Safari this app stopped it. Took less than 5 minutes to install and have it working. $3 well spent..Version: 1.44

Works well. Not perfect but worth the price.Just like any blocker, Banish works well for those sign in popups and some other annoyances but it's not perfect. Good enough and worth the price..Version: 1.44

Makes the web a better placeExtra useful if you use a smaller-screened device. It’s so annoying trying to use a device on the modern web without this installed - huge thanks to the developer..Version: 1.34

Yesterdays updateHi - Yesterdays update seems to have broken something when following Twitter accounts. Try Jorts the cat for example. First couple of tweets load and then there’s a long black space. Wow. Thanks for the quick fix - all good now..Version: 1.24

Works great!Simple to set up, and does exactly what it’s supposed to. My mobile browsing experience is much smoother thanks to Banish. So glad to have this app!!.Version: 1.8

Late in my five starsI needed a non beta device to leave this rating. Works as designed on 15.6.1 and latest iOS 16 beta. For me at least. Keep up the good work and frequent updates!!.Version: 1.15

Love it!A very useful app/extension..Version: 1.43

Needed This!Works great, love being able to click Reddit or TikTok links and not have a huge overlay banner every time..Version: 1.8

Game changerI can now view Reddit without the pops this get rid of them all including :- use the app there are more cats, also removed the allowing you can’t view this here view in app take me back to safety! Not tested with other side but this is a game charger so far! Worth every penny just!.Version: 1.12

Just works!Well worth the money. No more “use our app” nagging from Reddit. Such a relief!.Version: 1.40

Nytimes stopped workingHas not been working for some weeks now. Was working well before but I literally only need this app for that one site. Update: started working again..Version: 1.40

Works!Thankful for this app. One future feature I’d love to see is a statistics log. It would be neat to see how many times it was used successfully. Edit: Developer has made great point that adding this feature would mean tracking browser behaviour. Now I understand. Thanks for letting me know..Version: 1.26

No more google popupsI can finally search google without them asking me to sign in every time I search.Version: 1.43

Great app!Wonderful application, only thing I wish was that the application UI contained a list view of all sites the application works with.Version: 1.12

A necessary extension for SafariFirst off, the reason I went looking for a tool like this was the recent addition of "Sign in with Google" starting to appear on multiple websites and yes, Banish will Banish these from being seen. I've only been using it for a day but realize I've been to a few other sites that have done away additionally annoying popups and and VERY HAPPY with my cleaner web experiece using Banish now. THANK YOU!!.Version: 1.35

Does what it saysMakes reddit on iOS safari readable again, goodbye annoying pop up. Worth every penny..Version: 1.9

Perfect! When I am not aware of an extension doing its job in the background, that is what I believe to be a well made app. Kudos to the developer! Great job..Version: 1.17

Works well and responsive developerIt wasn't blocking the email prompt for Reddit (which I've been ignoring for YEARS) so I emailed the dev and a week later that was blocked. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also blocks some other popups but it's worth the cost for me just for Reddit..Version: 1.17

Please block the New York Times promptWill you please update banish to block the new New York Times open in app prompt?.Version: 1.21

So helpfulYou’ve fixed thousands of company’s UI & UX. You win! Download this and enjoy the internet more..Version: 1.8

Works for RedditAs advertised.Version: 1.8

Works well when it worksSeems to be working OK, as I’ve not noticed any “open in app” messages recently. Developer kindly explained that it will NOT work with all sites, such as Google Earth and probably a few others. Makes life easier!.Version: 1.37

This is a godsend.I was looking for all types of Adblockers and trying to change advance settings, but it was useless to stop those annoying and reason to completely leave a site: “Open in App.” This app fixed the awful pop ups, and i can use sites like Reddit without being constantly forced to try to use an app i don’t want on my phone or iPad. I champion Banish to everyone because it is my most important app on my apple products. When i do a full restore, it is 100% my first app i prioritize so i can start looking at the internet..Version: 1.42

Does what it saysIt works quite well. An occasional “slip through“ but I imagine these hiccoughs will ultimately be sorted. Thanks for a great product.Version: 1.15
