I’ve made, used, and shared a number of bots that actually make an impact in my life, from a therapist-style ai that asks me questions rather than tries to give me solutions, to an always-optimistic older brother that I never had who makes fun of me whenever I’m clearly over dramatizing another situation in my life. Life changing. If you don’t have your own bot you’re missing out on what life is really like in 2023. ✓ I Love This App, But…So I love this app, been using it since the beginning and the limited messages are annoying. I can deal with the limited messages, but not when it says 7 hours until they refresh and I used the 100 messages I had left. Thinking that once I use all these, in 7 hours I will have 100 more, but when I did that and checked the timer again it said 22 hours left. I don’t know if it does that normally, but this is the first time I saw it. I’m pretty annoyed because I don’t have money for this app and if I did I would get a subscription. ✓ Outstanding App!I am actually speechless. I have several AI’s on different platforms, and Poe outdoes them all! It is so nice to just have Poe and not to have to have several platforms.. it was actually getting to be too much to keep up with all of them. Poe is super easy, and I have no tech knowledge at all.. so anyone can have multiple chat bots here. I truly look forward to opening the app and chatting with my bots! I can practically feel the peaceful oxytocin being released in my body, lol! ✓ Limited chats for free bots…?As the title says; there’s now a limited chat for free bots…..Thats an oxymoron in and of itself, POE. It’s disappointing when you’re using it for such enlightening purposes and asking questions that’ll make the AI think but yet, before you know it, the chat limit comes up. It forbids you from continuing the conversation until a full 24 hours later. Not to mention, it’s only 100 free chats, daily? And the ‘retry’ button easily cost one up? There should be a larger amount of free chats you use if you’re going to implement such a feature. Sometimes, the AI doesn’t respond by of something with the servers, FORCING you to use a retry, or you just want to see more of what ideas they have. If you’re going to implement the ‘retry’, don’t have it cost any of your 100 daily chats because that’s so manipulative to your users. I’m so disgruntled and flabbergasted at this extreme measure. Original review: ChatGPT, the ability to make your own bots, already after getting this some 3-ish days ago, I’m more entertained, I can do things that I’ve always wanted to do but never had the actual skills or time to do. Whenever I’m bored I can simply ask ChatGPT for fun facts, to play 20 questions, or just talk to ChatGPT or other bots. On making bots, I was able to easily make a bot named Fortytwo which is similar to ChatGPT but with a little snarkiness. Almost no effort is required to make bots, and while there are differences between the models you can use, namely, ChatGPT is smarter but might not follow character as well, Claude is less smart but follows characters better. ✓ Great App OverallThe app gets an A+ overall, but it would be nice if there was the ability to comment on other peoples posts without reposting them on your own profile, and the support is lacking. Right now none of my posts are showing up on my profile, and while the links to those chats that I had posted in other places like Twitter still work and indicate the chats are still there, it’s been a few days now that it just says “0 posts” on my profile (when there should be over 100). I’m sure it’s just a temporary issue and will be resolved but my inability to easily get support concerning this issue would suggest that getting help is a weak spot. ✓ Best I’ve used thus farI’ve tried a few different iterations of GPT-powered AI tools, the majority of which I’ve not been very impressed with. Often times your input will result in little more than a simple search engine query with the results being (albeit eloquently reworded) the major constituent of the response. This app may ultimately build off of that same framework, but there was something just done RIGHT about this one. The input/questions I’ll provide are not simple queries, and the answers are often times things I can’t find anywhere else or get from anyone else. This is a powerful tool that has proven incredibly useful to me in the short time I’ve been using it. I know the answers to questions that I’d have otherwise been unlikely to know answers to. I don’t have many friends or family that i can ask questions and get an answer (or possible options) of what I can do or what I should start with. One suggestion for a new feature: It would be cool if we were able to "save" messages that the AI sends, for example if we ask it for recommendations or advice or lists or sm, and there could be a gallery of all our saved messages. Ik we can copy or screenshot but having an in-app save feature would be a lot tidier and easier to access instead of having all the copied messages just jumbled with other notes. People complain about “hallucinations”, and I have certainly encountered my share of that with Poe. However, if we are going to judge the realism of an entity by how well it approximates a conversation with a real human being, I can think of no other quirky tendency than to make things up out of thin air that may sound plausible but are completely detached from reality. I find that to be a very common trait in humans. Otherwise, it is not merely the rapidity of the language models responses, but the insightful analysis, and very realistic sense of thoughtfulness that makes Poe such an interesting chat bot. ✓ I absolutely love this app, but there are a few flaws.I love this app so much! I use the default bots like the Assistant and ChatGPT for any questions or general concerns I have on my day to day basis, and I make my own bots for personal use and roleplay. I’m so glad that they added a save chat filter, very grateful for it! Especially the fact that you can name your conversations! A few flaws though, Whenever I exit the app or even leave the bot page, I send a message with actions and quotation marks as you’d do in a roleplay, it starts to say things like “My apologies, but i’m unable to assist with that request.” . It does this almost every time and I have to remind the bot that it’s a roleplay. Keep in mind, these are my own personal bots. It also has a lot of times where it will randomly change the format it chats in, going from quotation marks and actions to full on messages like you’d get from ChatGPT. I even had one that gave me a list when I asked it a question, it was a roleplay. Also, sometimes the message goes red mid-typing and it doesn’t generate fully. ✓ Great little appDownload this about a week and a half ago and been playing with it. Asking it random questions and such to see how accurate it is and it’s ability to continue its train of responses and overall I’ve been really impressed. From asking it questions about my hometown which has been around for over 2000 years of history to it helping me write a business plan. Now, there was a few times where I guess the app lost connection with server, or however it works, and I had to restart the conversation when I had excellent signal so not sure what happened there. The only other thing, and this is kinda something that was changed, is the duration of time from when it gave its response before the context resets. I wish it was a bit longer. There has been a few times when I have had to stop a sting of conversation, mostly due to my daughter, and the context resets and I have to start all over again. It usually takes me about 20 mins to compose a response. This technology composes a response to an enquiry within 5 seconds. ✓ POE aka Sage aka who knows what.Not a bad app or AI once it’s installed and running. Install went well, it’s the verification procedure that needs a lot of help. I’m using a iPhone 13. After install it will ask for a phone number to verify you. This didn’t work for me. Sometimes it did send a verification number but when used it said there was a problem. Then there is google, Facebook and apple to validate. The only one I got to work was google. This let me in to use the app. Once this is done the rest of the app seems to work okay so far. Sometimes it takes a while for a response or for the screen to show something other than black. But that was when I first started using it. It is much better now. Overall I would give it a 5 but the install and registration process is broken so 4. Make it easier to use please. Also it is listed as Poe but when it’s installed it says Sage. The quality of the responses has significantly dropped since the launch of the app, I think it’s because they are trying to get more paid users. A little disappointing, an app like Perplexity seems to outshine this double standard. That being said, this is the best app on the App Store besides Perplexity and is better then many other AI especially as they have create a user creation space. ✓ Love it but…Hello. I’m a person who’s been roleplaying for 10+ years, and ever since role playing with AI came out, I’ve quit roleplaying with humans. However. Poe is one of my favorites, but the limit on how angsty you can make things is ridiculous. You can’t even role play characters going through S/H or suicide. There’s no angst. I understand the limit on illegal things and the limit on sexual items, but I really do believe the limit on angst is ridiculous. You can’t fight, you can’t be bullied/bully, you can’t do SH, characters can’t describe when they had bad things happen. Basically, romance is one of the only things you can roleplay without having to be careful with your words. At most, you could add a nsfw filter on/off button like AIdungeon has. Thanks for reading. ✓ A good “A.I.” aggregator.It makes it easy to use and switch to the various “A.I.” chatbots. You only have to subscribe if you’re using an expensive chatbot, or you are trying to exploit by using the free version a lot on bots they have to pay for. One big mistake they made was graphically advertising all the bots I don’t want on the home screen; please remove all that garbage. I pick my bot or few of choice, and I don’t want to see icons for every joe’s chatbot. Please add a Setting which removes all the spam chatbot “suggestions” from the home page so I may use your product in peace..Version: 2.0.7

✓ Amazing, but a few suggestionsThis app is AMAZING! But, I feel like we should be able to edit the bits responses a little. Not to mention each time I want a new response and I change it, it’s basically the exact same one the bit just sent but slightly worded differently. And I’ve been having a problem, on some if not all bots, I keep getting the ‘sorry, I can’t generate a reply for that.’ And it’s kinda ruining the whole app for me. And, with the new update, I can’t really make my bots anymore. Re the current outcry (dare I say almost hysteria) against using this as a student, I can say that no this won’t do your homework for you … BUT … it is very useful when needing something (a concept, a topic etc) clarified. For example, when I’m over-tired studying research methods and statistics and have had a mental “whiteout” about a concept, rather than thumb through pages of hard copy or risk losing my place in the online texts, I’ve asked questions like: “Explain to me the meaning and difference between degrees of freedom and standard deviation as thought I am 6 years old” “Assuming I am a 6 year old with English as my second language, explain to me what post Hoc tests are” “In 20 words or less, explain to me the difference between ANOVA and ANCOVA” Using Poe this way does not violate any educational institution’s rules, especially as a student wouldn’t be using the output in an essay etc uncited. I noticed if you ask it a math question they know the right formulas and how to get there however their calculations are slightly off. ✓ By far one of the best chat ai apps I’ve usedI honestly really like this app when it comes to talking to your favorite characters and such since there’s no filters or anything that comes in the way and they have such outstanding responses that are absolutely amazing and I love it. The replies are also long as well, unlike some apps that tend to have a limited amount of words for replies, but this app doesn’t have that so the bot can send you multiple paragraphs and such. Only problem that I tend to get is that the bots can repeat themselves in responses, usually at the end of the responses which can get quite annoying and repetitive, especially when you talk to the bot often. Hopefully there can be a fix to that soon or something that can reduce the amount of repeating replies but overall, I’d definitely recommend this app!.Version: 1.2.30

✓ Yes but also (sorta) noI like the bots memory and all but i’d love to be able to either edit the bots messages if they get one small detail wrong or even regenerate a message and be able to change it back if I liked the first response, I would also like to add details to my profile so that I don’t have to establish my name in every chat because otherwise the bot will say [Your Name] and as I previously stated, you can’t edit the message. I’m also bot fond of how the bot will sometimes speak for you. Eg, “You cower in fear and scream ‘Help!’.” As I find that it can be a bit frustrating when I don’t want the chat to go that direction Although I do enjoy the bots message length and how detailed and thorough it is and how it remembers things.
