Getting a scuba diving certification card in 1989—-5 months before my major Australian city got internet ( can scuba dive in the close body of water to where this game comes from because it is valid anywhere on the planet ) was easier than playing this game goodbye forever ..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Poor cooks on this game - really a trail serverNo comms up front on this being a trail server and now a merger of servers occurring and no real meaningful comm on what is happening or how to keep your progress as you need to set up a new account when the merger occurs. ✓ Terrible experienceI’ve only been playing a short time and was enjoying it but then a server maintenance upgrade managed to remove my town from the map, take away key buildings and delete troops I had spent building up, so now I can’t compete with the in game challenges as they are at a level I no longer have the troops to fight with. ✓ Such a shameA great potential has been lost. The old aoe graphics and game play are great but developers clueless. Copied rise of kingdoms on so many levels which wasn’t a bad thing but nothing really new. Good side was that you didn’t have to wait 3 months for a kvk but downside is you need 6 farms and even that would last 10’seconds. Took away spire challenge which had a bug but was actually the only way you could get the resources needed to enjoy the game. Didn’t need much more to be a great game but has gone same way as all the greedy p2p games and just want money money money..Version: 1.0.23
✓ Most fun game ever, now broken!I’ve never enjoyed a game so much. However, it installed an update inside the game, but then it stopped working. I noticed there was a pending update out on the App Store so I updated it from there hoping I could resume playing. When I re-launched the game directly after, it now gets stuck at 6% downloading new script files with a Network Prompt saying something to the effect to check my internet connection. The connection is fine but the game is broken. Hoping for a new update soon..Version: 1.0.12
✓ It could be goodWas enjoying the start, but once you advance to feudal age it takes a day to upgrade anything significant, which would be ok as a f2p, but you can only upgrade one at a time, so unless you start spending straight away, it's basically a waste of time. ✓ It’s fun, but you can’t play with your friends unless you all start at the exact same time.The game play is good; however, if you start playing and then a few weeks later your friend starts playing, then you will likely be placed on separate servers (separate worlds). When this happens you have no way of playing with your friends. What a bummer. Why do I want to play with a bunch of random players? I’d like to play with my friends, but unfortunately we’re on different servers and the developers have no way of fixing this issue at the moment. It is definitely geared towards making money which is upsetting but not the end of the world for most people. ✓ Pay 2 winPlayed the game for about 2 months now… It can be very repetitive and although the events can make it somewhat exciting especially working together with an alliance, it can feel like a drag. I’m logging on less and less now… I just reached 10 million might, early imperial age XI m, I’ve not spent a penny but one thing is certain… The game is a huge pay to win. The entire game is basically one long tutorial of just pressing what buttons it tells you to. I am honestly surprised that they haven’t been sued by Ensemble Studios. clearly riding the coattails of the Age of Empires franchise to bolster their download rate. Completely boring and an imaginative, with no room for strategy. I’m actually tempted to contact Ensemble Studios to let them know about this game. Eventually, when I go to attack barbarians, the game sets a low number of troops, and there does not seem to be any way to change what the system selected. Finally, I lost an attack against a level 6 group of barbarians because I said, “okay, the system says this default troop configuration should be a winning combination.” Not going to delete the game based on that, but it does not boost my confidence as a good game to continue with.
